World Cup 63 Roster Thread

Postby Aguazul » Wed Dec 19, 2012 6:22 pm

Welcome to the 63rd World Cup!

Here, please post your roster. This can be a simple list of your players' names and positions, or include more biographical details. As with roleplays, going into more detail can allow for a somewhat higher bonus. During World Cup Qualification, your nation will host half of its matches in a home and away series. Stadium information can also be provided here. Along with the roster, you can choose a style modifier ranging from +5 to -5. The more positive the style, the more likely you are to score and concede goals, but style modifier has no influence on the result.

You should also indicate what your opponents can, or cannot do, if they RP first, such as bolding "Y" or "N" in this RP permissions box.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

Good luck!

Darmeni National Football Team

Coaching Staff
Manager: Tim O'Donahaue
Assistant Manager: William von Kriesler
Offensive Coach: Tony Bordeck
Defensive Coach: Jason Erickson
Goalkeeping Coach: Robert Yelton
Physio: Yoram Abrahams

Style Modifier: +5
Strategies (Taken from the Oblique Stratagies of the Brevity Cup):
-Ask your body. When you're tired, and just want to give up, ask your body for more. It'll probably pay off.
-Adding on, 'cause one goal is never enough.
Formation: 3-5-2 is the first choice and will be used in just about every match. The 3-4-3 may also make some appearances.

Goalkeepers
Name Age Club
Troy Osborne 29 Eau Claire Aris FC
Kimi Siesman 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Thulani Daniels 31 South Darmen United
Brad Schreier 24 Rogerton Whitecaps
Brady Summon 22 Eau Claire United
Troy Osborne has been the starting goalkeeper since Adrian Kok allowed New Palmouth to score seven goals in a single game. And he's done a pretty good job. Kimi Siesman quietly sits in reserve, awaiting the day when Osborne retires, and he gets his own chance. Daniels, Schreier, and Summon probably won't see any playing time soon, but have been brought along just in case.
Defenders
Name Age Club
Mikael Adan 26 Scott City FC
Dustin Nguyen 28 Scott City FC
Charm Vue 27 Eau Claire Aris FC
Scott Rydzik 25 Eau Claire Aris FC
Oguchi Findley 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Johan Garza 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Matt Flemer 22 Rogerton Whitecaps
Arik Sikula 22 Forden
Trevor Goodwin 23 Eau Claire Aris FC
Terrence Sinapati 23 Menomonie United
Adan, Nguyen, Vue, and Rydzik are the only experienced defenders on the squad. The younger players won't get a ton of playing time, but Sinapati and Findley will see a few minutes off the bench.
Midfielders
Name Age Club
Luca Cormio 24 Scott City FC
Danny Beasley 28 Scott City FC
Tor Tong Lee 25 Scott City FC Captain
Gene Turko 22 Eau Claire United
Francisco Lyons 21st 22 Eau Claire United
Nicky Salapu 23 Menomonie United
Charles Ramirez 23 Menomonie United
Javier Zakuani 23 Brham United
Josimar Son 22 Darmen City FC
Steve Nystizor 22 Johnho FC
Maika Molesi 22 Menomonie United
The midfield is the heart of the All Greens. Cormio, Beasley, Lee, Turko, and Salapu are the starters. The calls to replace Lyons with either Salapu or Son have been answered.
Forwards
Name Age Club
Bryan Faulkner 28 Scott City FC Vice-Captain
Roberto Gregio 22 Eau Claire United
Sergio Autitore 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Fernando Grevsthan 22 Menomonie United
Natt Dittman 22 Forden
Adam McKay 25 Chuckio FC
Charmaine Hooper 23 Brham United
George Pele 25 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Faulkner and Gregio are technicly sound and great scorers. Autitore and Pele may see some time off the bench, and it's not rare for Tim O'Donahaue to make a double switch of the two starters for the two players from Chippewa Falls.
Starting XI
-------------Osborne-------------

-----Adan-----Nguyen-----Vue-----

-Cormio-Beasley-Lee-Turko-Salapu-

------Faulkner-------Gregio------

Player Roles
Direct free kicks: Tor Tong Lee
Indirect free kicks: Bryan Faulkner
Right corner: Roberto Gregio
Left corner: Gene Turko
Penalties: Tor Tong Lee

Warkus National Football Team

Manager: Victor Vos
Captain: Ceri Owens
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: +3

Will we make it this time? Shall the glorious skills and abilities of our players finally be noticed?

Probably not. Oh well.

Starting XI

Goalkeeper: #1 Llyr Powell

The up and rising Warku star has already had a ton of caps for the team. Pundits consider him to have amazing potential for a Warku player, and maybe even above average potential for any other team. We can be a bit more arrogant at this point, see.

Full Back: #38 Wynne Priddy

Priddy is actually a decent player now. He's been given a bit more room to grow, and is quickly improving.

Centre Back: #18 Emrys Griffith

Emrys has finally cleared up issues about his consistency. Kinda. Now we just have to hope he stays consistent.

Centre Back: #3 Gwenith Efa

Gwenith has proven herself through the Cup of Harmony and the Di Bradini Cup, but how will she fare in the real battle?

Full Back: #00 Iwan Rhys-Evans

Iwan, the former internet sensation. Iwan was previously popular and called "Mae'r tanc anhygoel" (The incedible tank), but his internet throne has been usurped by a dancing cat.

Left Midfielder: #9 Ceri Owens

The slightly older Ceri Owens stars as the captain once again. Notable for his leadership and ball control, Owens is likely to keep up a good performance in the qualifiers.

Centre Midfielder: #15 Elwyn Dafis

Dafis has proven himself to be a useful member to the squad at two World Cups and a Cup of Harmony. He's doing quite well for himself, but who knows if that'll all come crashing down?

Right Midfielder: #22 Peredur Selwyn

Selwyn is another player known for his inconsistencies, but seems to have improved over time. He's an amazing player when he plays well and looks to have secured his spot in the starting XI.

Left Winger: #10 Morgan Rees

Rees is still being cornered by the opposition, and certain teams have proved to make Rees's skills usless. He's going to have to fight with everything he's got if he's going to counter the opposition this time, because he sure as hell won't be able to sneak anything in.

Centre Forward: #7 Trystan Llwyd

Llwyd is the classic over-powered superstar. Every nation has one, and Llwyd is no different. Fast, accurate, powerful, he's pretty much amazing. Although one may never understand the suffering that a godmodded legend like him must go through.

Right Winger: #99 Cynfael Trevor

Trevor is pretty fast. He can kinda cross well, too. That's pretty much it.

Notes:

People from Warkus are known as Warku.

The team is very offensive in terms of their style of play. This includes their defence, which means that they can occasionally cause a few injuries. Despite this, the team isn't known for dirty play. They consider things such as diving to be pathetic and insulting to the perpetrator's own skill, showing that they are rubbish without cheating. Victor Vos, the manager, is a cult hero within Warkus. Vos was, in fact, a pretty decent player, but has been considered to be wasted potential. However, he didn't match up to the greats of the world, although fans would say he did. Fans will often compare Vos with greats such as Juan Tzimisces, Simeone Di Bradini and Ug-Ug. Please do not take offence at this, as Victor Vos is regarded to be one of the best players to have lived, despite his poor record and average skills.

Erick Sexton-Goalkeeper Erick Sexton is the youngest goal keeper to ever be named GK of the Year in the Argan Premier League. His club, New Rome United, has had large successes in the past couple of years. Sexton who is now only 23 years old has 7 years of experience and much more to go. He led the APL in saves and stops. He also became a young team leader on the New Rome United club. Sexton is regarded as a young player however. Among other veterans such as CB James Axe and LF Andrew Barker. Sexton however has taken a key role for the team.

Ryan Locust-Ryan Locust, the current left back for the team, is the youngest starter on the team [only 21 years old]. His club, York F.C. has risen to become one of the top defensive teams. Locust who first came into the APL as a forward, moved to back due to the York F.C.'s depth at forward. He found his home and came to become an all-star. His first selection to the team was quite controversial but after his amazing performance in the Baptism of Fire, Locust has become a fan-favorite in the Islands. Locust's is most notorious for his consistency. Young players in APL usually lack consistency. This was what made Ryan different from the other defensive all-stars.

James Axe-The veteran on the team plays among the best players every year and stands out against them. The now 36-year-old center back has performed on the grand stage multiple times. The most recent being the BoF. Axe is well-known for his foot skills and determination. He is a high-motor kind of guy who keeps himself in great shape as he continues to play well after so many years. Axe is one of the undisputed leaders of the Argan team. Axe despite his lack of goals and amazing tricks on the field is still the known face of the Argan National Team. Axe himself owns three championships with his club Royland United.

Mickey Bauer-Bauer is a center back who learned from James Axe throughout his career. As a member of Royland United he has seen the best of James Axe. Axe has also taught him and trained him. Bauer who himself was born watching every Royland United match learned hard-work will pay off. He was only 12 when James Axe broke out on the pedestal to become a great player. By then, Bauer was one of the top youth players in the Islands. He dreamed of playing alongside Axe. Bauer is nearly an exact copy of the younger James Axe. Bauer plays with the same determination and energy of Axe. He also notoriously physical. However, Axe has taught him to control himself. Bauer is currently 23 years old and plans on playing on the national team many more times.

Gregory Cousins-Cousins who at first in the Baptism of Fire started off slow. Cousins was removed from the lineup in the draw against the team from Inevitable Syndicate. Cousins is a highly trusted player for Manager Ryan Carmichael. Cousins in the past has been one of the top right backs in the nation. Cousins who had probably his best APL season in his career, came in looking bold and powerful. However, it quickly changed with losses to Silar and Sarzenastan. Cousins struggled. It was believed that Cousins injured his right foot in the first 45 minutes and continued to play. Cousins however is known for his speed and agility. Before the coming of Nick March and Tyrone Warner, Cousins was listed as the fasted player on the national team. At the age of 26, Cousins is an all-star from Antioch F.C.

Henry Williams-Henry Williams who was characterized as an "aerial" player by manager, Ryan Carmichael. Williams is an offensive midfielder and leads all the current midfielders is goals. Williams also is well-known for his crosses and excellent passing ability. Williams is the only offensive midfielder on the roster has an interesting role on the team in Carmichael's offensive style. Williams has a high vertical leap and is famous for his determination to keep the offensive attack running. Williams, who is currently 24, plays for York FC and rose to stardom when York FC rose to become the champions last season. He played an important role in the final match.

Fredrick Morris-Morris who is known as a defensive midfielder often is seen at the head of the attack. At the position of center midfielder Morris has become a dominant figure on the field. Morris, who at the age of 29, is the most experienced midfielder on the team. However, he is not regarded as a leader. It may because of Morris's kind attitude and the fact he is easily persuaded. Morris however is extremely physical and leads the team in yellow cards. Morris however taught the right midfielder, Michael Cooper much of what he knows. Morris currently plays for Italia United.

Michael Cooper-Cooper, whose brother younger brother Nicholas is on the team, is the right midfielder for the team. Cooper is another defensive midfielder for the team. Cooper is very balanced in his skillset though. He can pass well but can also defend and clear among the best in the nation. Cooper at the age of 23 is among the better midfielders in the nation. He currently runs the pitch for York F.C. and was named an all-star by the Argan Sports Telegram. Cooper's brother Nicholas is hoping to start next to his brother as soon as possible.

Andrew Barker-Left forward Andrew Barker is a veteran on the young Argan team. Barker who often switches off starting with Nick March, is an experienced leader for the Argan team. Barker who has found a way to control the young talent of the team. Barker has changed the Argan team and brought a more controlled aspect to the squad. Barker who leads all the current players in career goals is hoping to continue his career for WC 64 and retire. Barker currently leads the APL in both goals and assists which hasn't been done since George Gallant in 1986. Barker's team New Rome United has had some successes in the last couple of seasons with new goalkeeper Erick Sexton.

Tyrone Warner-Warner who is the center forward for the young Argan team has risen to the stage. Despite his youth, Warner has scored two goals in his first three international games. Warner led the league in goals last season but this year finished second behind Andrew Barker. Warner rushed onto the stage with mobs of fans. Warner was a young player at the age of 22 was suppressed after an knee injury that did not get full trust from his manager at Royland United. He sat on the bench and was a major reserve for the team despite his frustration with the coaching staff. Warner led the Royland United team to a national championship this season and hopes to make the Argo Islands proud of him in the World Cup.

Nate Madison-Nate Madison who will take the starting position of George Jamison at the beginning of the World Cup preliminary rounds. Madison will be starting at right forward for the national team. Madison who has been trained by Jamison himself practiced hard despite small amounts of playing time in the Baptism of Fire. Madison is hoping to perform at his finest and impress his own mentor, Jamison. Madison can only say, "I just hope I play to my finest abilities and return to the Islands with my head up". Madison currently plays at Antioch F.C.

Nick March-Despite not starting at any position, March did have two starts in the Baptism of Fire. One at fullback and one at forward. March is a young talent and currently will act as a reserve for both the forward and fullback. March was known as a young goal-scorer at Albus United. March is the most notorious for his jumping ability and his quickness. He is listed as the fastest current player on the national team. March is expected to be a major difference in the Argan matches.

(OOC: World Cup 62 qualifying will take place between August 2018 and October 2019 Slembanan time, with the play-offs taking place in November 2019 Slembanan time. This article was written on 17 August 2018 Slembanan time.)

DBK Sports - Football - Squad for World Cup 63

Written by Pierre Darezi

It’s that time again. What time? The time for the World Cup, of course!

This article will tell you about our squad for the 63rd World Cup. This will be our third World Cup, after the 61st and 62nd editions. A lot has changed since our qualifying campaign for World Cup 61. That was six years ago, in 2012. It is now 2018.

One of the most obvious changes since then is the fact that we are ranked going into this, like World Cup 62, but unlike World Cup 61. In World Cup 61, we were unranked going into qualifying. Between the end of World Cup 61 qualifying and now, we have climbed a long way up the rankings, and we are now 94th in the rankings. The rankings for after the 50th Baptism of Fire have yet to be published, and we will probably climb even further up the rankings once all the new nations from the 50th BoF enter the rankings.

Another change is our change in squad. Between our beginnings in international football and now, a few players have retired, including Gavin Stockwell, James Bareman, Jarod Vale, Callum Potts, and Norris Rawlinson. New players have been drafted in, and our squad is quite an old one now. It was relatively young in the earlier tournaments, but our players have aged since then. For some players, World Cup 63 could well be their last-ever World Cup. Between the end of this and the beginning of World Cup 64, some players will have retired. But let’s not focus on the distant future. Let’s focus on the near future. It is about 12 or 13 days until World Cup 63 qualifying begins.

There have been quite a lot of changes in this squad from our World Cup 62 squad. Callum Potts and Norris Rawlinson have both retired since then. The two players, who both played as full-backs, both retired this year due to old age. In addition, the infamous Eddie Barlow saga, which took place in the middle of World Cup 62 qualifying, saw Barlow removed from the squad, and replaced with young Zondelian-born prospect Harry “Komodo” Young. Young was drafted into the squad by our Euran manager Colin Blackwell, who had just been appointed to manage our national team. Blackwell changed our starting formation to 4-3-3, with Val Kylx, our tremendous star striker, becoming our lone striker. In addition, Zorro Pullman was drafted into our starting eleven as a result of the formation change. As well as that, brothers Toby and Jordan Valfox, who are both strikers, have been removed from squad, while young midfielders Derek Newman and Joe Baxter, who are best friends with each other, have been drafted into the squad. Tom Iflon and Freddie Spencer have both moved up from the bench to the starting lineup, respectively replacing Potts and Rawlinson. The voids in the bench left by Iflon and Spencer have respectively been filled by Yuppë Polxá and Cezary Artur.

Anyway, let’s get on with the squad!

Starting XI:

Goalkeeper: Toby Gapman (age 36)
Toby is a veteran. He made his debut for his first club, Velbay United, over 20 years ago. He was only sixteen then, and is now thirty-six. Toby is a tall and agile player, and a fantastic shot-stopper. He plays for our most successful, and most well-known, club, who are Bafilo United. Toby is widely regarded to be the best goalkeeper in the country. He is ten days away from his 37th birthday, and says that this tournament will be his last-ever on the international stage, hinting that he will continue to play club football until a proper retirement.

Right-back: Tom Iflon (age 27)
When Callum Potts was playing international football, Tom Iflon was always in his shadow. Callum would always start ahead of Tom in our matches. Tom did manage to get a few substitute appearances, but he was still only a substitute player. Now, with Callum having retired, it is time for Tom to shine. Tom has looked quite good when he is playing, and has performed excellently for Chelsea United in recent years. He has now decided to switch, and has signed for Anderson City. Tom will try to juggle international football with club football – just as any player has to do.

Centre-back: Don Adobe (captain, age 26)
Don will again be captaining our team here. He was appointed captain in the run-up to World Cup 62 qualifying, and has stayed in that position ever since. Don had also captained us at the King James Invitational Cup six years ago, which was when our national team was just fledgling. Don is a very tall player – he stands 6 ft 5 in tall, which is almost 2 metres tall. As a result of being tall, Don is quite slow-moving. However, a good thing about Don being tall is that he is an excellent header of the ball. He is also a great defender. Don plays for Bafilo City, and has done so his entire career. He made his début for them way back in 2008, which was a whole decade ago.

Centre-back: Dennis Valfern (age 25)
Prior to 2014, Dennis was merely a substitute player. He did play sometimes, and was even a starter at the King James Invitational Cup, but hardly ever played. He only got into a few squads over those years. However, in 2014, our inspirational captain, Gavin Stockwell, retired. Dennis was chosen to replace him, with World Cup 62 qualifying just around the corner. Since 2014, Dennis has been a regular starter. He is reaching the peak of his career.

Left-back: Freddie Spencer (age 21)
Freddie first appeared on the international stage in 2014, which was when he was chosen to play for us in the 24th Di Bradini Cup, which is the World Cup for Under-21 players. Because of his good performances at the tournament, Freddie was chosen to be our substitute left-back for World Cup 62 qualifying, just behind Norris Rawlinson in the pecking order. Because Norris has retired since, Freddie has moved up to the top of the pecking order, becoming our first-choice left-back as a result. There will be a lot of pressure on Freddie to do well, but the youngster has said that he will be able to handle it. Optimistic words? We’ll find out at the World Cup proper.

Attacking midfielder: Jyvx Dagens (age 23)
Jyvx is a great player. He is our best player if Val Kylx is not counted, and that’s pretty damn good. Jyvx has black skin. His free-kicks are outstanding, as are his passes. Jyvx almost always seems to be one our best players when he’s out on the pitch. Jyvx’s best friend is teammate Follin Maxet, who also has black skin. Jyvx and Follin went to the same school in Bafilo (our capital), and have been international teammates ever since they made their international débuts ever since. Jyvx plays for Bafilo United, while Follin stars for Bafilo City, but even that fails to dent the warm friendship of the two players.

Defensive midfielder: Follin Maxet (age 29)
Follin, a tough-tackling defensive midfielder with black skin, is a vital player. He makes our team tick, like some other players. As mentioned earlier, Follin’s best friend is Jyvx Dagens. The two players have been best friends ever since they met each other, which was when Jyvx was a 4 year-old in Primary One, and Follin was a 10 year-old in Primary Six. The two players would play with each other during break, during lunch, after school, and during the weekends. Sadly, the two players would only see each other at the same school for one more year. After that year, Follin went up to the high school. Jyvx was upset about this, but they still met each other every day. Now, even with Follin as a Bafilo City player, and with Jyvx as a Bafilo United player, the two still get on a lot.

Attacking midfielder: Zorro Pullman (age 30)
Zorro was a substitute player until late 2014, when the infamous Eddie Barlow saga occurred. This saw Eddie removed from our squad by new manager Colin Blackwell, who changed the formation to 4-3-3 from 4-1-3-2. Zorro was drafted into the starting lineup, becoming a starting player as a result. Zorro has not lost his place since. Zorro is a great passer, as well as an excellent long-shot taker. If you lose the ball to him, he will punish you.

Right-winger: Finlay Yalnif (age 33)
It was a really, really long time ago when Finlay burst onto the scene as a 16 year-old. It was seventeen years ago, way back in 2001. A fresh-faced Finlay, who was playing for Bafilo United, terrorized defenders with skills, nutmegs, and backheels. Finlay is now thirty-three, but still looks pretty identical to his 16 year-old self. Finlay still has skills, nutmegs, and backheels in his locker. Finlay is normally seen with a smile on his face. He loves to play.

Striker: Val Kylx (age 23)
Incredible. Fantastic. Excellent. Brilliant. Outstanding. These worlds can all be used to describe our superb star striker Val Kylx, who is, without a doubt, our best player by miles. Val has scored well over 100 international goals since making his international début for us against Icaia in the King James Invitational Cup, which took place six years ago. He plays for Honeybadgers of the FSSO/Eura. Val is – wait for it – amongst the best players in the world. You know it, you know it, you know it! OK, silliness over, but he’s still a legendary player, despite being mocked by foreigners.

Left-winger: Yuppë Tárnix (age 30)
Yuppë is a hard-working player. He has black skin, and plays for Bafilo United. He has been our first-choice left-winger since World Cup 61 qualifying. He is a great crosser of the ball, and has scored a few international goals as well. Yuppë’s favourite food is lion cubs – quite an odd diet. However, he says that “farmed animals taste brilliant”, as we do actually farm lions. This is not a lie – it’s true.

Substitute’s bench:
Goalkeepers: Kevin Banks, Josh Pitbull
Right-back: Yuppë Polxá
Centre-backs: Hank Bowles, Warren Lockton
Left-back: Cezary Artur
Attacking midfielders: Derek Newman, Joe Baxter
Defensive midfielders: Max Locker
Right-winger: Olajide Tamerik
Striker: Harry “Komodo” Young
Left-winger: Javo Jexa

Home stadium: Royal Slembanan Stadium, Bafilo (seats 136,914)

Manager: Colin Blackwell (Eura/FSSO)

Colin has been our manager for almost four years now. He is under a contract term saying he cannot be sacked by us for two reasons, which are that he is only sackable after this qualifying campaign. He can only be sacked if we finish lower than our seeding position in the qualifying group. He is a big fan of attacking football, and plays with a 4-3-3 formation.

Formation: 4-3-3

There wasn't much of a change between the roster from the last Cup to this Cup and the team is pretty much the same, just, well, one year older. The changes were that Mateus Carvalho is now playing for Bartholomew FC from Boring Paradise and Namine Nagatomo now plays for Issington FC, still in Apox. The reason why the team was pretty much retained is due to how they did go well last tournament (well, for the type of situations NSI had in the World Cup, pretty much well) and also the lack of a sensational star to appear at the Sunrisian scene, so, yeah.

With August II finally, officially dead, and Luke Parrish back with the team following his accidental injection with an anti-aging drug during a fight with William Danforth Sr., West Angola enters a new era of football, with a completely revamped roster!

Head Coach: Phillip Garren- The original squad's keeper, Garren was injured in an auto accident the night after the first match of Baptism of Fire 45. He was unable to continue playing, but has remained as the team's head coach ever since the assassination of Peter Warren.
Assistant Coach: Isaac Warren- A forward for the team since the beginning, Warren was kidnapped and poisoned during World Cup 61. He was nearly killed, and the chemicals ravaged his body beyond condition for football. Warren is now the team's assistant coach.

Starters:

Keeper: Blake Green- Replacing the lovable but often inept Jacob Kerys, Green hopes youth and enthusiasm can succeed where experience failed.
Age: 22
Team: Benguela Memorial FC

Defense: Paul Allen- A real question mark for the team, Allen and the rest of the defenders have some massive shoes to fill. West Angola switched to a defensive approach following the debacle of World Cup 61, and achieved unprecedented success as a result. Allen, Urial, Hanson, and Pawel are eager to prove themselves, and hope to lead the team to its first qualification in West Angolan history.
Age: 24
Team: Namibe United

Defense: George Urial
Age: 23
Team: Namibe United

Defense: Kevin Hanson
Age: 26
Team: Benguela Memorial FC

Defense: Jan Pawel
Age: 17
Team: U-21 Namibe Navigators

Middle: Matthew Ford- The middles have perhaps the toughest task of all on the West Angolan team. They must perform well, manage the transition from the defense to the powerful forwards of Parrish and Wilson, and outsmart the opposing middles, all while not being eclipsed by either one, and avoid being made the scapegoat for a defeat, and before dinner, to boot!
Age: 26
Team: Huambo

Middle: Samuel Golding
Age: 21
Team: Namibe United

Middle: William Jackson
Age: 28
Team: Luanda East

Middle: John Blevit
Age: 25
Team: Cabinda

Forward: Luke Parrish (Captain)- The most decorated player in West Angolan footballing history, Parrish has been at various times: a forward, a dead man, a revolutionary, a national hero, king, and now is a forward again following his remarkable age regression and subsequent abdication. Newly revitalized and in top physical shape, Parrish is itching to get back to the football pitch.
Age: 44 (biologically 22)
Team: None

Forward: Peter Wilson- The captain of the reigning champions in West Angola's U-21 league, the Cuando Cubango Crusaders, Wilson has long had to deal with accusations that he was nothing more than a "system" player and owed all of his success to his coaching. He wants to make a name for himself at this cup to dispel those rumors, which could lead to issues if he and Parrish start competing...
Age: 19
Team: U-21 Cuando Cubango

Reserves:

Keeper: Donald Westing
Age: 20
Team: U-21 Cabinda Warhawks

Defense: Jacob Fallon
Age: 23

APOX WORLD CUP 63 ROSTER

(Note: This tournament will be taking place during July 568 to January 569 A.T)

Manager: John Grigia
Style: +0.42

Spiel: The national team goes from strength to strength, and the team will enter this tournament with their first competitive tournament win, having won the Campionato Esportiva IV. John Grigia has said that he would like the team to be competing for a play-off space, and the expectation will be for him to do that, anything lower than third will probably now be judged a failure. He has stuck with the 4-4-2 formation, although has made it slightly more defensive than in previous tournaments. Two are gone from the CE squad, Jarvis Staniels has retired and Alain Smith hasn't made the cut on this occasion. Five players are in though, as Grigia has refused to have any less than 26 in his qualifying squad. Joe Frost comes in for Jarvis, the unpredictable Cas Newan is once again recalled in the tricky decision of who to fill the left midfield spot. Rising talent Katie Womble is included and old flames Tom Olfa and Gregari Stanislav have finally got the call-up. Some interesting decisions in the starting line-up too, especially having the inexperienced Keri Ularu starting over known scorers Marlon Vetta and Chris Maarsden. The defense has also been shuffled around, although John Grigia has noted that the line-up is likely to change through-out the tournament, and the starters list is little more than the starting list for the first couple of games.

Stadium
Located right along the banks of the St. Johns River in downtown Gemsbrook, it is home to the domestic soccer club Gemsbrook FC of the National Soccer Association. It was built in 2008 and has a capacity of 27,800, expandable to 33,000. Traffic is harsh mainly during rush hour however after the installment of exit 197 off I-22 getting to the stadium has become much easier.

Hutt River roster for World Cup 63
AKA: The Smegs

GK – Dave Lister [Series I-X]

Lister is a slobby man, normally dressed in a leather jacket and hat, and one of his two best shirts (which have a curry stain down the front). He wrongly thinks he is a fantastic guitarist and his life dream was to buy a small farm on Fiji. This slobiness rarely shows on the field, where he is a pretty good goalkeeper and normally has a ton of luck on his side

RD – Quagaar warrior [Series I (mentioned)]

The Quagaars are an alien species made up by Rimmer, after a garbage pod entered the ship. The warrior is essentially a discarded roast chicken. Remained on the bench for the last few cups but has had a decent run in the first team recently

CD – Arnold Rimmer [Series I-X]

Lister's bunkmate brought back to life as a hologram to keep Lister sane. Often the butt of jokes, he is selfish but smart, and oftem has doubts about Lister's ability to do most things. On the pitch he is the heart of the defence, alongside his alter ego, Ace Rimmer, and can tackle surprisingly well for his age. Has quite a short temper

CD – Ace Rimmer [Series IV, Series VI, Series VII]

An alter-ego of Arnold Rimmer, who is modest despite being a popular, knowledgeable daredevil hero. As well as that, he is also an almost perfect all round football player who plays alongside Rimmer at the heart of the defence. His only weak point is marking, especially from corners, as he tries to mark all of them to save the hassle of the others.

CD – Kristine Kochanski [Series I, Series II, Series VI, Series VII-Back to Earth]

Red Dwarf's Navigation Officer who was the object of Lister's lust before she was killed by a radiation leak. Playing football, she is the player who gets the ball forward after a corner, towards one of the strikers thanks to her fantastic accuracy when kicking a ball.

LD – Olaf Petersen [Series I, VIII. Mentioned many times]

A Danish catering officer on the Red Dwarf mining vessel, and best friend of Lister. A very strong player who out muscles almost every opposing player, his powerful free kick contribute a few goals to the overall tally.

RM – Ramses Niblick the Third Kerplunk Kerplunk Oops Where's My Thribble [Series IV (mentioned)]

A former friend of Kryten, who suffers from computer senility. His real name is Gilbert. He doesn't really do much on the field, just crossing the ball into the box. Has an excellent way of picking out players in a scrum.

CM – Frankenstein [Series I]

Frankenstein was a normal cat, accidentally turned into the mother of every single Felis Sapiens and other similar species ever, and the holy mother of the cat religion, after being left in the hold when the radiation leak happens. Really just there to make up the numbers when on the pitch.

LM – Kryten [Series II, Series III-Back to Earth]

Kryten is a neurotic Series 4000 mechanoid robotic servant, who has broken his programming He is humanoid, with the exception of the flat cubical face and head. He is incredibly intelligent which helps him when playing his left midfielder position, pointing out the exact position and power to get it to the person/machine in the six yard box.

ST – Talkie Toaster [Series I, Series IV]

An annoying talking toaster, who offers toasted stuff at every possible opportunity. He is only around because he is an excellent poacher, going through people legs and hitting the ball into the goal during a goalmouth scramble, due to his amll size and the fact he is on wheels. His small size can be a hinderance as well, mainly due to not being able getting easy headers for a human.

ST – The Cat [Series I-X]

A humanoid descendant of a modern house cat (Felis Erectus), which had been Lister's pet cat before the radiation leak. The Cat cares about himself, and only himself, and is incredibly vain. He is the main goalscorer on the team, thanks to his incredible shooting skills.

Substitutes
GK - Holly [Series I-V, VII, VIII, Back to Earth]

Holly was Red Dwarf's computer. Holly's user interface appears on the ship's screens as a disembodied human head on a black background. After being left alone for millions of years, he has suffered from computer senility. Has above average intelligence but suffers from bad reaction times.

CD - Duane Dibbley [Series V, Series VI, Series VIII]

Duane Dibbley is the dorky alter-ego of the Cat who has a pudding basin haircut and big overbite. He still has the Cat's rather large sense of selfishness though, and this shows as he rarely lets go of the ball. He is also hindered by his poor intelligence on the pitch, but is quite fast, which is often used to his advantage

LM – Mr. Flibble [Series V]

A hand puppet penguin used by Rimmer when he was taken over by 'Hex virus'. As with the Quaagar, he just sits on the bench most of the time

CM - Queeg [Series II]

Queeg was a practical joke played by Holly to make him appreciate him being there he uses an aggressive command style and it's not unusual to see hi outburst angrily, provoked or not. Similar in working to Holly, he also suffers from the same problems

ST - Stab 'Im [Series I]

Stab 'Im is a motorised service and maintenance robot, named a Skutter, a 2 feet tall motorized box, with one limb, with three claws on the end. He can move fast but suffers from height issues.

Stan Sarault-ST-Athletik Thessia (Mytannion)

The team will play with this formation: 1 striker, 2 strikers, 4 midfielders, and 4 defenders. Alex Gannot, a flexible player in the Mytanar top league, can play any position except striker in case of injury. Giroux will be the lead striker, with Savard and Sarault behind him.

Stade St-Pierre, Lac-Drouin
Seating 50,000, Stade St-Pierre is home to Lac-Drouin St-Pierre, the greatest Sicoutian football club team. It also hosted most of the team's qualifing games at World Cup 62, and almost all home friendlies by the team are played here. Lac-Drouin is the capital of Sicoutimont, and balances a modern, new look with a medieval thrill to the older areas. It is home to 115 million people, and the city takes up almost 100km of space squared. Most people live in the subburbs of either Ile Perrot or Rapides-Drouin, which are off the island Lac-Drouin is situated on. The stadium is located just 4 blocks from the waterfront, on 7 Rue de Parliamentre, the most famous road in all Sicoutimont.

SportCity, Pierre Beach
The Monster, SportCity, seats 116,000 people for football matches. It is home to FC Pierre Beach and FC Cote, once a UICA qualifier. Outside, SportCity looks just like any large stadium. You have to go inside to get the real feel for SportCity. Underneath the stadium is literally Sport City. As Pierre Beach is a smaller, modern town, holding 31 million people, the businesses are relatively clamped together in this area. Pierre Beach is right along the coast, allowing for burning hot summer days, but also a tropical, rainy climate due to hurricanes. Condos, restaraunts, shops, all this can be found underneath SportCity. Tunnels take you around the city, and Gare-Centrale, the train station, is here, connecting you to Lac-Drouin in 4 hours. Your team will be staying in the Hotel du Waterfront-SportCity. It is an aboveground hotel, right on the waterfront. It connects to SportCity's underground via the hotel restaraunt, Chez-Pierre. WC63 qualifing will be played during the late summer in Sicoutimont, which means tropical storms are common. Be Prepared.

The Karditan Robber Barons

Soccer is illegal in Karditan. Thus, this is a team of criminals and corrupt businessmen.

Starting 11

Goalkeeper- Emanuel Portico. One of the most successful petty thieves in all of Karditan, he is incredibly agile and specializes in predicting the movements of adversaries. This helps tremendously in stopping shots, espicially PKs. Married to Sweet Swing.

Left Back- Xavier Helm. A man oddly obsessed with the middle ages, he's suspected of several sword-, bow-, crossbow-, and trebuchet-related deaths. He swears that only the trebuchet ones were his fault, as he was still trying to figure out how a sexton worked. The rest he apparently just uses to hunt. Mostly deer, but it's not odd for him to bag the occasional mountain lion or bear. Plays in his full suit of armor, which slows him down (but not as much as might be expected. He's been training in that armor for a long time) but makes him much more intimidating.

Center Back- Porfirio Mendoza. The new commission of the Karditani Baseball League, Porfirio is a true sportsman who can appreciate any sport. He honestly does not understand the abhor the rest of Karditan has for soccer, and hopes to improve the sport's reputation. He's also a brilliant strategist

Center Back- Dust Pan. The head janitor in Silveen Eleco's Fillydelphia estate (see below), he is incredibly quick and maneuverable--taken from years of experience darting through needlessly elaborate hallways and corridors to fix and clean any problems that appeared anywhere on the massive grounds.

Right Back- Ivory Hilt. A freedom fighter from Vashameer who successfully bartered with Karditani authorities to allow his homeland to be carried away along with Ibex when the rebellious state was moved from one region to another via a fleet of military-grade helicopters. The land movement left most of the underlying soil, so the Karditanis got all they wanted: the oil. Meanwhile, Hilt has become the Governor-General of Vashameer under Ibex while continuing his modeling career.

Defensive Midfielder- Havr Milosivek. A freelancer who spends most of his time roaming the streets of Moscolt, Havr is a generally amiable guy who isn't afraid to smash a few shins if you push his buttons the wrong way. If his Russian accent gets thick enough that you can barely understand what he's saying, you should probably stay away from him; but that doesn't happen too often. Will sometimes have to leave the pitch temporarily to respond to calls from his cousin Roman.

Midfielder- Yong-Hu Cho. Leader of the largest Triad in Neighpon. A bit of an amateur in organized crime when compared to Korzado and Carnac, but still not a man you want to cross--he is far more focused on revenge and overt displays of superiority than the other two (which is very amateurish in a crime boss). Probably the most likely of the starting eleven to get red-carded.

Forward Midfielder- Sweet Swing. The one member of the Robber Barons who isn't actually a criminal, Swing is the daughter of famous Karditani golfer Tyre McIron. Married to Emanuel Portico.

Forward- Lightning Heart. A buffalo with a bad temper. Really, that's it. More assault & battery convictions than you can shake a horn at. Isn't very swift, but few people will want to be in his way if he gets up to speed.

Forward- Korzado. One of the few Zebras in Karditan, Korzado runs the Illineigh Mafia. His influence can be found in almost every successful business venture in Illineigh, as well as many in Detrot and Sinsinatti. A legion of all types of creatures serve him, and he might be the only thing richer than Eleco in Karditan- but he doesn't flaunt his wealth like Eleco does. Almost all of it is re-invested, whether in businesses or bribes.

Striker- Mario Cansetta. One of the higher-ups in Korzado's organization, Mario is in charge of collecting protection fees in Sinsinatti as well as organizing the official unofficial street racing league of Karditan. He's generally good-natured (he tries to convince his clients to pay their fees because he genuinely doesn't want to teach them a lesson), and is fiercely competitive. He'll take some bad shots, but it's damn hard for defenders to keep up with him.

Manager- Sucker Punch. A unicorn who's special ability is illusions of the nefarious kind, Punch is a strategic genius who plans to bring Karditan to the top. He runs the most successful corporate advertising/propaganda firm in Fillydelphia.

Defensive Coach- Carnac Carson. The biggest personality in Karditani crime, Carnac is the guy you go to when you need a hookup. Everyone who is anyone has grabbed a beer with him at one point or another. Is rumored to have some future-telling powers.

Financier- Silveen Eleco. The Man in Karditan. He runs Eleco Industries, Karditan's largest electronics company. He inherited the moderately-sized business from his father, Sylvester, and grew it to enormous proportions with brilliant economics and some underhanded business practices. He organized the Robber Barons and put together their entry into the World Cup, maintaining a large role on the running of the team though he no longer plays.

Substitutes

GK- Kroze (Zebra)
D- Uma Logria
D- Elana Rzedkevich
D- Brutus (Pegasus)
M- John Bum
M- Rain Out (Pegasus)
F- Ron Ferret
F- Hired Hoof (Earth Pony)

Formation: 4-3-3

Home field: Silveen Eleco's personal pitch in his massive Fillydelphia complex. Visiting teams and a small cadre of visiting fans will be escorted through a convoluted network of underground tunnels that lead from the seaboard to the complex. No one is allowed to leave the complex until the end of play. We don't want the Karditani cops catching wind of a soccer game, do we?
