The Chyyban MMLS is a versatile and highly mobile wheeled missile launcher. The Rocketry Research Laboratories at HIA came up with this design after hearing reports from the Haruspex Legions of having to develop, purchase, and maintain a large number of systems to deploy the various missiles they used. The Chyyban was created to solve this problem. It houses a wide array of sensors, and features an adjustable missile rack capable of housing a variety of missile modules. A missile module is simply a number of missiles tubes bundled together. With the various missile modules available, the Chyyban is suitable for use as an AA battery, MLRS, tank buster, or coastal defense battery.

Electronics
EFTS – The Enemy Fire Triangulation System is comprised of six microphones mounted on the Chyyban’s exterior. These microphones listen for the sounds associated with incoming artillery and rifle rounds, and then a computer uses that information to triangulate the source of the incoming fire. The EFTS system is integrated with the Chyyban’s fire control system, which allows it to quickly bring its weapons to bear when enemy fire is detected. It is important to note that the EFTS system microphones are not armored and are susceptible to damage. However, the microphones are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. Several backup microphones are included in its repair kit.

SDL – The vehicle’s Secure Data Link (SDL) is used to facilitate the exchange of information between the Chyyban and friendly units. It allows voice communication as well as the ability to transmit and receive a variety of data including target and threat information. This system is integrated with the Chyyban’s fire control system allowing it to easily target enemies using information provided by other units.

RDF – The Chyyban is equipped with a Radio Direction Finder. This system allows it to triangulate the source of enemy radio transmissions. For optimal efficiency, this information is fed to its fire control system for quick response.

Advanced Imaging System – The Chyyban is equipped with several imaging systems, which are used to guide the vehicle and identify targets. These systems support thermal imaging and light amplification for night operations, and are capable of x20 zoom. Two inches of ballistic glass offers these optical systems a degree of protection from small arms fire. Nevertheless, the optics are more vulnerable to damage than other parts of the vehicle, so they were designed to be easily replaced in the field.

Advanced Digital Fire Control - The fire control is a highly advanced system, which collects data from all the sensors and those of nearby friendly units. With minimal input, the vehicle is capable of prioritizing and targeting enemy units.

Phased Array Radar – To assist with target acquisition, the Chyyban comes equipped with a roof mounted radar array.

Object Tracking System - To supplement its radar, the Chyyban is equipped with said system, which uses radiation emitted from cell phone towers to track objects in a manner similar to radar. This system is considerably more reliable than radar when it comes to tracking stealth object.

Defenses
EPS – The Chyyban comes equipped with an Electronic Protection System, which is a proximity fuse countermeasure. This system is designed to defeat incoming artillery and mortar rounds by fooling their proximity fuses into believing they are closer to the ground than they really are, causing them to detonate prematurely.

Active Protection System – This system is designed to destroy incoming missiles, rockets, and grenades before they impact the Chyyban. A small fire control radar array detects and classifies incoming projectiles. The threat is then destroyed by a safe distance away by a warhead, which produces a shotgun like blast. After twelve uses, the APS must be reloaded. This system can be hazardous to people standing near the vehicle. For this reason, the system may be deactivated if desired.

Armor – The Chyyban utilizes Chobham Composite Armor composed of layers of heavy metals, ceramics, Kevlar, and other materials. While its armor is not as thick as a main battle tank, it is reliable against rounds 25 mm or smaller. Additional appliqué armor may be added to improve protection at the expense of speed and range.

Safety Features -- Safety features include NBC filters, run-flat tires, an automated fire extinguishing system, compartmentalized fuel storage with blow-out panels, front-loaded engine, and “V” shaped undercarriage to maximize mine survivability.
