The Parties to this Treaty reaffirm their faith in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the World Assembly and their desire to live in peace with all peoples and all governments.
They are determined to safeguard the freedom, common heritage and civilization of their peoples, founded on the principles of democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law. They seek to promote stability and well-being in the British Isles and abroad.
They are resolved to unite their efforts for collective defense and for the preservation of peace and security. They therefore agree to this organisation's principles and charter.
Article One
This organization of nations seeks to bring peace and stability to the vastness of space through the collaboration of member nations. It is therefore necessary that all nations signing this treaty shall be given a place on the Admiralty board and they will have a say in matters pertaining to the PBISDF (British Isles International Space Defense Fleet). The Board of Admirals shall act as the bureaucratic arm of the Fleet, while another admiral is elected from their ranks to act as Supreme Lord of Admirals for the Fleet, they shall be responsible for the executive operations of the Fleet as well as the highest ranking official. Their term in office as Supreme Lord of Admirals will last two years while anyone serving on the Board of Admirals can serve for as long as the member nation sees fit.
Article Two
As a collaborative organization, it is imperative that member nations contribute to the Fleet. How a nation contributes to the Fleet's well being is entirely up to the member nation, but must first be deemed acceptable by both the Board of Admirals and the Supreme Lord of Admirals. It is required that any nation participating in PBISDF give free and unmolested port access to ships belonging to the PBISDF. It is also a requirement that PBISDF be given safe passage through national space whenever absolutely necessary.
Article Three
The ongoing mission of the PBISDF is to ensure the safety and well being of any person or persons outside the protection of national armed forces. It firmly stands against piracy and will persecute pirates to the fullest extent of its abilities. The PBISDF devotes itself to peace and turns to violence only when there are no other options, as such, it shall act as third party mediator for feuding nations to avoid armed conflict. If a non-member nation attacks a member nation, the PBISDF is obligated to defend said member nation, but in the event of an internal conflict, Fleet forces are to remain neutral until the conflict can be resolved.
Article Four
Nations wishing to become members of the PBISDF must complete the attached application forum. The application will be scrutinized by the PBISDF leadership as to whether or not the applying nation is fit to join the organization. Nations can be expelled from the PBISDF at any time by a majority vote or if any of these articles are violated. This document is subject to change by order of the Board of AdmiralsSupreme Lord of Admirals
