Geography of the Republic of Halgard

Located in the north-west hemisphere, city state lays at the mouth of the River Grey. Much of the state is spread across three islands, Hans Island, the Island of Amsterdam and Vendelft Island.

600 sq mi in size spread over 3 major islands, the small city state is known for is vast urban sprawl and high population density. Halgard has been effective significantly by human intervention. As a means to ensure the integrity of the land mass, major alterations in the waterfronts have been made to ensure continuity of the main land.

Although Halgard is a temperate climate, the Easter Sea induces a more warm then typical climate. In the winter months(December-February) the temperature has been recorded to drop to as low as -20c and in the summer months(June-August) reach upward to 45c.

The President & Vice President

The President of the Republic of Halgard is the head of state and head of government. In the incumbents capacity as head of government they are the highest ranking political authority in the country and leads the cabinet in the execution of government policy and initiatives. All bills, treaties, and acts of the federal government must first receive presidential endorsement for it to be recognized by the state. As head of state, the president fulfills ceremonial duties as leader of the nation and the people.
