Arcesia's Polaris Initiative Application "Going Well"

His Highness the Lord Protector recently reported on the highly controversial application to the Polaris Initiative. His Highness is accused by some, mainly in the Monarchist Party, of pushing the application through Parliament without much debate. However, regardless of how it was done, the Arcesian application process "is very going well" said the Lord Protector in a press conference earlier today. So far the application has received over six votes in favor and none opposed. It now seems only a matter of time before the application is approved.

Lord Protector's and Government's Approval Ratings at "All-Time Low"

Approval of His Highness and the government was the subject of a recent poll. 75% of the nation responded to the online poll and the results were not good. 47% of those polled said they thought the government was doing "A good job" of running the nation, however 52% said they thought the government was "doing poorly", and 1% were neutral.

Vote of No Confidence Raised in Parliament

A vote of no confidence has been raised in Parliament today. It was put forth by MP Maximillian Oresme, known by monarchists as Emperor Maximillian XVIII. It is not considered likely by many that the resolution will pass, due to the fact that the government controls over half the seats in Parliament. It is considered most likely that the Monarchists merely hope to show their displeasure with the government.

Vote of No Confidence Passes!

In a shocking turn of events the motion of no confidence has passed. His Highness and Prime Minister Jenelle Bolvie were seen exiting the Parliament building after the vote passed, both too shocked to answer. The Monarchists have apparently both been extremely lucky, and planned their attack well. An inordinate amount of Liberal Democrat MP's were missing today, this combined with a small backbench rebellion were enough to allow the motion to pass. With the Liberal-Democrat/Center coalition toppled the government is up for grabs in the upcoming election.

First Elections Could Possibly Result in Hung Parliament

Following the elections last week the Parliament has been struggling to form a government. The elections resulted in huge gains for the Monarchists and huge losses for the Liberal Democrats, with several other parties making minor changes. However, the losses and gains seem to have too equally distributed the seats and it seems unlikely a government will be able to form.

Minority Government Formed

His Highness the Lord Protector has invited the Liberal Democrat/Center Coalition to form a minority government. The coalition accepted. With a total of 130 of the 300 seats, the government will have to do much politicking to avoid a vote of no confidence. With support from independents, or more rarely, other parties, the government may yet survive until the next election.

Scandal Revealed!

Formerly secret communications between Prime Minister Jenelle Bolvie and the Liberal Democratic Party leadership have been obtained by this news agency. Many of us were shocked when the Prime Minister switched from the Liberty Party, to which she had belonged since she first registered to vote, to the Liberal Democratic Party. Many have noted how convenient it was that she switched just in time to ride the Liberal Democrat's rise to power. Many of her detractors accused her of just that, despite her claims of a "change of heart". It has been revealed through these communications that the Prime Minister and the LDP leadership agreed for Miss Bolvie to immediately become party leader if she switched. They gambled correctly that most of the PM's supporters would follow her, since the two parties are similar enough. It was also revealed that the leadership of the Liberty Party were considering removing Miss Bolvie from the party, as they found her policies too out of the party-line.
