Repeal "To Prevent Dangerous Debris"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#349

Proposed by: North Rwanda

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #349: To Prevent Dangerous Debris (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: Manufacturing) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: We'er polluting this world so quickly, and we need a place to put all our junk. Why not space? Why not? Just jettison it to the sun. Yes it will cost money, but would you rather spend a few million whatever a year on sending it to the sun or would you want all of us to be like China?

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 89 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 8 hours

Well, that was quick.

No operative clause, not from the WA perspective, RL violations (China). Could also be legislating in a repeal (underlined).

YOUR countries ethical levels

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency
Strength: Mild
Proposed by: New Intermarium

Description: Goal: Keeping WA policies from changing your nation's moral standards
Recognizes that citizens may not want to tolerate customs they deem unethical.
Allows citizens to prevent the legalization of a custom by way of national referendum, even if it is legal by way of WA.
The National referendum must be inspected and deemed truly "free". It must also include the voice of all citizens.

Ideological ban/mandates democracy, contradiction up the whazoo, obligatory typos, strength violation, probable category violation.

Two more NAPA repeal attempts..

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#10

Proposed by: Felpolandia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: In February of this year, a proposal came up to vote on repealing the Nuclear Arms Possession Act (NAPA), the act which prevents the World Assembly from banning the possession of nuclear weapons.
The proposal, submitted by now ex-nation Chester Pearson, argued for a repeal based on his belief that the Nuclear Security Convention and the Nuclear Arms Protocol (both his resolutions) duplicated the entirety of the Nuclear Arms Possession Act and hence, made Napa pointless.
The resolution also has numerous issues, including:
1. Prohibitions on the sale or transfer of nuclear weapons by member states to their allies à la the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1960s,
2. Prohibitions on the transfer of nuclear propulsion technology, thereby degrading the ability of nations to assist in collective defence,
3. De facto prohibitions on the transfer of nuclear energy technologies, thereby preventing cheap and clean electricity from being more readily available, and
4. Prohibitions on the transfer of specifications of any kind, thereby increasing the risk and danger of nuclear accidents and radiation contamination.

This one is illegal for RL references

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#10

Proposed by: Bcrulez

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: I propose that we should repeal it because: first, the best way to prevent it ever getting into the wrong hand is to not have it in the first place. Second, what good is it if we have nuclear weapons that might be one of our greatest achievement but it is also our greatest downfall. Finally,
If we have to use the weapons we might not only destroy the enemy we might also destroy innocent civilians in the process.

And this one for being bloggy

Military Budget
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security
Strength: Strong
Proposed by: New Dordnado

Description: Our international military is on a low budget, as well as our police force. As president of New Dordnado i think we should all consider the fact that we spend more money on things like churches and schools when we should be spending money on international security so in the future a threat wont be as scary as it is now.

So consider boosting Military budgets

Approvals: 0
Status: Lacking Support (requires 90 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 3 days 10 hours

Branding (& not written from the WA's viewpoint), bloggy, and there is no way that having "So consider..." as the verb in its closest approach to an operative clause counts as 'Strong'...

A diplomatic mission from Bears Armed, formerly stationed at the W.A. . Population = either thirty-two or sixty-four staff, maybe plus some dependents.

Arms Sales Ban On Civilians

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Tighten

Proposed by: The Confederate States Of The Portuguese

Description: Due to the high number of civilian deaths by firearms. It came through this statement, proposing a ban on sales of firearms to ordinary people. My experts did a study that showed that in addition to the weapons that are used by criminals, most of the deaths is due to domestic accidents, where people who can not handle the guns, end up committing murder. As a benefit for those who want to have a gun, you will have to get a special license, indicating that will use it, and should receive training and a document as a citizen allowed to have a gun. The same will have to prove to have no criminal record, have no psychological problem and be physically fit to handle a gun. Thus, we can control over the gun registry, to whom it belongs, then narrowing the access of guns by criminals, and letting our police forces in big plus.

More money, more protection

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Pineapple and Pie City

Description: 1. DECLARES the duty of member nations to reduce and, where possible, prevent civilian casualties in minefields;

2. INSTRUCTS member nations to conduct surveys determining the location and status of all minefields within their territory;

3. RECOMMENDS that member nations take all appropriate actions to prevent civilian casualties in minefields, including:
- clear marking of minefields on maps,
- posting of clearly visible signs around minefields, using warnings in all appropriate languages,
- international cooperation in raising awareness of the location of minefields,
- advising and educating citizens on methods for avoiding casualties in minefields;

4. ADVISES member nations that responsible demining is the most effective way of reducing minefield casualties;

5. ESTABLISHES the UN Demining Survey (UNDS), mandated to:
- conduct and aid demining operations, where requested under Article 8,
- research demining technology, landmine types less likely to constitute a lasting danger to civilians, and alternatives to landmine use,
- collaborate with national and international demining agencies,
- instruct civilians on landmine safety and treatment of landmine-related injuries,
- further promote landmine safety awareness through educational and informational campaigns;

6. URGES member nations to contribute staff, expertise, information, and funding to the UNDS;

7. MANDATES that the UNDS be respectful of territorial sovereignty of member states, and that no UNDS agent enter the territory of member nations without their explicit consent;

8. ESTABLISHES that:
- member nations may request UNDS assistance in demining minefields located solely within their jurisdiction,
- for minefields located within the jurisdiction of two or more nations, UNDS demining may be requested solely for parts of the minefield under jurisdiction of requesting nations,
- requesting nations may bar specific individuals from entering their territory to undertake UNDS operations,
- requesting nations must provide UNDS agents all available information on the location of landmines, and the UNDS may refuse involvement if risks to its personnel are deemed excessive,
- storage and disposal of removed landmines and fragments is the responsibility of requesting nations, and the UNDS may refuse involvement if the requesting nation is deemed incompetent to perform such tasks.

A number of problems here:

1.) Not sure what the title has to do with anything.
2.) Category fail. Wanting to ban landmines, which ought be "Global Disarmament", not International Security
3.) UN? That ought make it illegal right there.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

3. RECOMMENDS that member nations take all appropriate actions to prevent civilian casualties in minefields, including:
- clear marking of minefields on maps,
- posting of clearly visible signs around minefields, using warnings in all appropriate languages,
- international cooperation in raising awareness of the location of minefields,
- advising and educating citizens on methods for avoiding casualties in minefields;

4. ADVISES member nations that responsible demining is the most effective way of reducing minefield casualties;

5. ESTABLISHES the UN Demining Survey (UNDS), mandated to:
- conduct and aid demining operations, where requested under Article 8,
- research demining technology, landmine types less likely to constitute a lasting danger to civilians, and alternatives to landmine use,
- collaborate with national and international demining agencies,
- instruct civilians on landmine safety and treatment of landmine-related injuries,
- further promote landmine safety awareness through educational and informational campaigns;

6. URGES member nations to contribute staff, expertise, information, and funding to the UNDS;

7. MANDATES that the UNDS be respectful of territorial sovereignty of member states, and that no UNDS agent enter the territory of member nations without their explicit consent;

Im on my phone and can't really research or prove it, but given the references to the UN, and the quality of their past bumper stickers, this is setting my plagiarism alarm off.

Whether or not it was plagiarism, it was their 3rd strike, so ...

But yeah, I kinda got that vibe too. Just didn't feel motivated enough to look for it. ;)

I believe it says that countries are to give international laws to a quantity of basic necessities.

So unless it means that heads of state are to go to a warehouse and shout "You get an international law! You get an international law! Everybody gets an international law!", I have no freaking clue what it does.
