No operating clause, blog post, asking a question as though this is a casual conversation and not actually advocating for any specific position, though I am very fond of the prospect of seeing a mammoth in my lifetime.

Gun Control Act of 2014
A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.
Category: Gun Control
Decision: Tighten
Proposed by: Cool Spring
Description: Yes, I may be new to this game but I know that we need tighter gun laws. I'm not calling for the complete removal of guns but at least, for God's sake, limit the amount of guns. See, if you limit the amount of guns, or just have tighter checks on people who buy these weapons, then crazy people wont get them. Do you really want to have a Columbine, Sandy Hook, Aura or VT shooting again? I know that some people would reply "It could be used for self-defense" and I totally support that, don't get me wrong, I just want tighter gun laws and tighter checks.

I have an old memory of a movie duel between Laurel and Hardy, where Stan (the skinny one) draws parallel chalk lines down Ollie's fat front and states "to be fair, anything outside the lines doesn't count". This makes about as much sense.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL

Gun Right Protection
A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.
Category: Gun Control
Decision: Relax
Proposed by: Dilanica
Description: SEEKING to protect the natural right of a person to protect themselves and their nation.
RECOGNIZING that gun control laws prevent an able minded citizen from defending themselves and their countries from threats.
PROPOSING that nations make legal the purchase of Semi-Automatic firearms and Handguns to those able to pass a background check and a mental health examination.
The ownership of firearms are essential in this day and age for an individual to protect themselves. A nation restricting or banning an able individual from owning firearms is impeding on that persons right to defend themselves. Semi-Automatic firearms and Handguns allow for a citizen to defend themselves and their country properly from threats.
CLARIFIES it is the individual right of a nation to require a permit be acquired before the purchase of a firearm
Approvals: 6 (Lucratoria, Alruniea, Isolaria, Republic of South Carolina, Aitheria, Carcharodontidae)
Status: Lacking Support (requires 59 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 2 days 15 hours

Aside from not being sure it does anything, since proposing nations make legal isn't mandating such, is it really a 'relaxation' of gun laws if you are requiring background checks and mental health examinations?
