My region is heavily in favor of this resolution. Which is why I am also in favor of this GA vote. Also, if you know what's good for you, stay the FUCK out of Brasilistan. We have some unfinished business that we're taking care of.

Our national policy requires us to vote, by internal conscience, for the minimisation of the international legal framework. Principally, we believe in the broad international monitoring framework instituted by the World Assembly - including, but not limited to, resolutions GA#18, GA#22 or GA#263.

However, we cannot vote for resolutions to extend the influence of this body into affecting internal policy, therefore we must vote for their repeal.

As I have expressed in response to the vote on the target of this repeal, "Law Enforcement Education" does not serve as an adequate approach toward policy concerning police services. The scope of the target hardly even qualifies as a matter of international importance, and even its author has publicly expressed support for striking it from the records. This repeal captures the basis for opposing the target as written, and does so very well.

Most clearly, however, the author demonstrates some impressive guts in appending the recipe for a particular citrus drink to this resolution. For many months, since before I even succeeded my predecessor as the Chief Representative of Wallenburg, the World Assembly has suffered under the weight of absolutely mediocre legislation by new, often overconfident delegations. Clearly, when these nations send their people, they aren't sending their best. They are sending ambassadors with a lot of problems. They are bringing illegalities, they are bringing terrible ideas. They are bad writers. And some, I assume, are good people.

This repeal sends a clear message that we will no longer tolerate such behavior. If nations want to introduce legislation, they have to do so legally. We will not allow for the chaos that amateur ambassadors have brought upon us. That is why, as of now, Chief Representative Mikael Ogenbond is calling for a temporary shutdown on all silly and illegal proposals, until we can figure out what is going on.

I support this resolution, and urge my colleagues to do so as well. It is classy and an overall outstanding piece of legislation. And it represents my hopes for the future of World Assembly law. Together, we can make legislation funny again!

On a side note, I have now managed to refer to the World Assembly as the Assembly of Worlds, cementing in the record my interpretation as a World Assembly being an assembly of worlds, much like a Student Body is a body of students, rather than the anthropocentric view of it being an assembly of the world. Of course, no one can ever be forced to accept that interpretation... but for those folks in the FT community who spurn the WA for being a silly organization on a single planet, I now have a resolution to throw at them.

OOC: Much as I like the "we're not on a single planet!" argument, I still think you should be lightly¹ flogged for managing to slip that into a resolution text. If IA can hate titles that start with "On", I'm allowed to hate alternative wordings to "World Assembly".

¹ People's definitions of what counts as light flogging may vary, but I wouldn't want you to actually get hurt, so count that as a joking remark.
