Creation of World Military

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Preacia

Description: Description
Form a World Military that would fall under the authority of the security council

Declares
The World Military's main purpose would be to fight terrorist organizations and states that jeopardize world security.

Further Declares
Other possible uses could be made by the security council or general assembly.

Requires every state will send 2% of their military to be apart of the world military and an additional 3% to be apart of the reserve force.

Recommends that that all states promote the world military as a possible occupation for citizens and establishes military academies that will for the world military, that will be subsidized by the world military.

Outlaws firing on World Military and the refusal to send forces to be apart of the military.

Apparently submitting once wasn't enough, it has been submitted a second time over a hour later.
Didn't notice the first time around, also illegal fir including the Security Council in on this hot mess, putting their WA military under SC control.
The author really needs to read the rules and guidelines.

Wide Banning of Air Pollution

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Manufacturing

Proposed by: Mabuhay Land

Description: Description: The Member Nations of the World Assembly:

Recognizing that greenhouse gases, cigarettes and any thing contributes to air pollution should be gone and probihited for eternity;

Convinced that there is no just cause for intentionally hurting our world and our people by making air more polluted and more hazards will appear in the each and every country of NationStates;

Resolved that gases is utterly unjustifiable and should be universally condemned, prohibited and prevented;

Saddened that some individuals continue to permit or perpetrate acts of gases out of antipathy, intransigence, and even malicious character;

Resolved that putting a day to prevent greenhouse gases is part of what it means to make the world a better place, one resolution at a time;

Now, therefore, the General Assembly hereby enacts the following provisions, subject to the rules and laws set by earlier WA resolutions that are still in force:

1. Declares that gasses are should be never be in the air to make the people inhale cleaner air, or else, this resolution is outlawed within World Assembly member nations;

2. Further declares that individuals have an absolute right to make companies using gases be banned in the World Assembly member nations and even the nations outside the World Assembly;

3. Outlaws the use of gases for companies and should have air filters in their chimneys of anything they used to remove air;

4. Requires that any company in the NationStates probihits gases, or else, the head of the company and the staff and including the partners of that company will be probihited in each and every nation in NationStates;

5. Recommends that any extra measure for gases prevention should be also been proclaimed to the World Assembly member states.

Metagaming. Also, I think the author really needs to look up "gases" as that includes suuch "pollutants" as oxygen and nitrogen under their simplistic twaddle.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Repeal "Preventing Animal Abuse"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#372
Proposed by: Helvetenia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #372: Preventing Animal Abuse (Category: Moral Decency; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: I repeal this resolution because we as apex predators should have the right to hunt and eat an animal if so we desire. Domesticated animals that are kept as pets should be documented and registered as a companion. Other than this an individual should have the natural right to kill an animal, with good reason for doing so. Any slaughter of animals such as Lions, Tigers, Bears, Elephants, Rhinoceros, Giraffe, Bison, etc. that are killed as trophy animals and cannot be eaten (Other than in self defence); should be illegal and punishable by imprisonment. Any non-registered animal that is an individuals companion should be documented within 2 weeks or the individual will be required to pay a substancial fine. If any registered companion is abused by heavy discipline with no reasonable cause, the individual will be charged with assault charges. This gives any registered animal the right to not be harmed by the owner.

Approvals: 1 (The Great Loey)
Status: Lacking Support (requires 123 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 3 days 10 hours

Branding, bloggy, no operative clause, attempted legislation in a repeal, and that legislation would contradict an existing resolution...

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#10

Proposed by: Tableia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Argument:

In trying times of terrorism and the threat of nuclear annihilation, the General assembly must note that:
The use of nuclear weapons is a war crime and extremely dangerous to the welfare of the planet and it's inhabitants,

WA delegates have no right to possess or manufacture nuclear arms for the threat of non-delegate nations,

If nuclear weapons were to fall into the wrong hands, despite all best efforts, it could bring about a nuclear apocalypse and destroy world order,

and

Nuclear programs are often used to bully smaller, younger nations causing general conflict on an international scale.

Yeah, we actually do have the right to possess nuclear armaments. Says so right in NAPA.
Also, bloggy emoticon worthy arguments and no repeal clause.

Also, it doesn't actually do anything, it says "the purpose of this act is to", not "gives/limits/protects/makes".

Addditionally, clause 4 seems to self-contradict clause 1, as well as be something of an attack against an ideology.

The previous international organisation actually passed a resolution along similar lines, back before the rules got tightened-up: It was one of several resolutions that the Admins deleted from the list (and even, I'm fairly sure, from the sequence of numbering) when Nationstates was moved onto Jolt's servers. That was before I got involved myself, but I remember reading about it on NSwiki.
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed

Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

That alwaysshould prisoners recieve the same degree of care, education, and provisions that free citizens earn,

With only basic political freedoms,

Hereby concludes the "Prisoners' Rights Act".

Affordable Health Care
Category: Health | Area of Effect: Healthcare | Proposed by: Ronovick

Description: Many people are unable to pay for basic health care, and we should be striving to make these procedures more accessible and affordable to less privileged peoples.

The government of the country in which the unfortunate person resides will pay for 35% of the total cost of there treatment if there yearly income is below or equal to £27,000. This will be put in place if the treatment is needed, for example, surgery to repair a broken bone. It will not, however, be necessary if the treatment is for something such as cosmetic surgery, with examples being liposuction and rhinoplasty.

This will not only greatly improve the lives of millions, but also the government, as more healthy citizens means more jobs being preformed to a high standard, and all round making your nation a better, more prosperous place.

Special Economic Zones

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Formed Korea

Description: Every Nation has a right to make a Special Economic Zone that contains no taxes for shipping.

The purpose of this act is to:

1: Gives every Nation the right to create the Special Economic Zone of their choice.

2: Limits can't be put into this Special Economic Zone "Like Taxes, Income or anything since it's all Free"

3: It protects the interest at home and protects the Economy.

We hope that other WA Nations can approve this type of "Free Trade" For our Global Economy and further strong Free Trade deals in the future.

Doesn't really do much of anything. The author also appears to have a fundamental misunderstanding of just what free trade actually is.

Global Disarmament Act

A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Sollantico

Description: This proposal calls to ban all guns from all WA nations.
RECOGNIZING The likelihood of a psychopath or sociopath using guns for a mass murdering
REALIZING That many deaths could be prevented, as we would not let any random crazy person have a gun to murder many people
NOTING That many people are pro-gun and like their guns,
HEREBY Illegalizes manufacturing, sale, and possession of all lethal firearms, while halving tax on non-lethal firearms, which include Blowdarts, Bows and Arrows, and Tranquilizer Guns and Darts.

Oh FFS. Really? I guess the Police and Military are just armed with whistles and pepper spray now. And seriously, the bow and arrow are "non lethal"?

This is so full of crap it is amazing GAHQ has any TP left at all.

Right to fair trial

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Conservatives of Britain

Description: Without the right to a fair trial, if one person commits a crime and claims someone else was aid in the crime, how would we conclude if the second person was actually part of the crime?
we can't imprison both since we don't know if the other person actually was part of the committing of the crime, and we can't let them both go free because one or both of them wouldn't have learned anything from the whole ordeal.

Logically it would make sense to have a fair trial, lets make sure those who do belong in prison get in prison and those who don't belong in prison out of prison.

Doesn't really do much of anything other than provide the preamble for a wishy-washy internet petition.

we can't imprison both since we don't know if the other person actually was part of the committing of the crime, and we can't let them both go free because one or both of them wouldn't have learned anything from the whole ordeal.

Logically it would make sense to have a fair trial, lets make sure those who do belong in prison get in prison and those who don't belong in prison out of prison.

Doesn't really do much of anything other than provide the preamble for a wishy-washy internet petition.

And if it did do something, it would be a massive pile of duplication.
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

Repeal "Restrictions on Child Labor"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#4

Proposed by: Diamond Isles

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #4: Restrictions on Child Labor (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: In developing countries, child labour is necessary in order to improve the economic conditions of the family, community etc. Unless all those in favour are for funding these families, I don't see how such an resolution is achievable.
Also children should have the freedom to undertook whatever work they see fit is needed.
This resolution should be abolished.

Not written from the World Assembly's perspective ("I don't see how such an [sic] resolution is achievable."). Bloggy.

Completely optional due to the third clause. Any number could be decided to be a "reasonable" amount, including 0.

Electric Vehicles

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Automotive

Proposed by: High Olympus

Description: The Members of the World Assembly:

Recognising that fossil fuelled vehicles release nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere which will help destroy the environment;

Recognising that this will effect human health and un-natural phenomenons such as acid rain and smog will start to occur more often worldwide;

Resolved that decreasing the amount of fossil fuelled vehicles and replacing them with electric vehicles will help slow down climate change and will help sub stain our environment;

The General Assembly herby enacts the following:

Encourages all fellow nation's governments to fund the production of electric vehicles;

2. Encourages all fellow nations's car dealerships to increase the number of electric cars they produce and sell;

3. Encourages all fellow nation's governments to provide a grant to people who buy electrical vehicles;

4. Declares that all people who own fossil fuelled vehicles may take their vehicle to a mechanic to perform an electric conversation. Mechanics will be paid extra money to perform this;

7. Encourages all fellow nations with a high proportion of non-renewable power generation should look to alternative sources including hydro, wind and solar generation so electrical vehicles are powered by renewable energy;

In extremely dire need of proof-reading ("sub stain", "herby", switches tenses, ends with a semicolon, etc.), and micromanagement (clauses 4-5).

And a few more.

Repeal "Prevention of Torture"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#9

Proposed by: Conservatives of Britain

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #9: Prevention of Torture (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Strong) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: If the secret service or military can't use torture for extracting information from enemies, then how can we prevent enemy attacks or learn plans of enemy spies, and win battles against enemies using obtained enemy military intelligence?

No repeal clause/bloggy

Legalizing Euthanasia

A resolution to modify universal standards of healthcare.

Category: Health

Area of Effect: Healthcare

Proposed by: Persian Holy Kingdom

Description: Description : This proposal shall be used to legalize Euthanasia in all nations to reduce suffering and pain without consent.

RECOGNIZING that Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a person's life in order to relieve pain and suffering.

RECOGNIZING that Euthanasia is been done as the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma.

RECOGNIZING there are 3 types of Euthanasia such as :

* Voluntary euthanasia
* Non-voluntary euthanasia
* Involuntary euthanasia

KNOWING that consent is a major part of Euthanasia but as due to pain is subjective and difficult circumstances require quick and sacrifices.

FOLLOWING that Euthanasia is common practice method seemingly from the early ages and as such should be prioritized.

HINTING at such observations that emotions are high in such painful moments allowing logical thinking to be hindered and as such Euthanasia will pave the path for better healthcare.

Therefore enact that :
1. Euthanasia should be completely legalized in all nations.
2. Euthanasia shall be done without consent as such to medical advice from medical professionals.
3. Euthanasia shall be deemed respectable once again and more of a treatment then a cold blooded murder.

In need of proof-reading, says there are three kinds of euthanasia but defines none of them, confusing language (the entire 'HINTING' clause, 'to reduce suffering and pain without consent' can easily be taken two ways, the second and third parts of the "Therefore enact that" clause).

Repeal "World Assembly Headquarters"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#8

Proposed by: AverageUtopia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #8: World Assembly Headquarters (Category: Political Stability; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: CONCERNED that while there is a "need for maintaining facilities for the furtherance of these activities," where "these activities" is primarily defined as "promotion of international goodwill," the ideal way to brainstorm the creation, development, organization, and maintenance of these facilities WAS NOT "after lengthy drinking binges last night at a well-known local pub."

DISTURBED by the following; "a recent census of WA diplomats, revealing a disturbing prevalence among international envoys of 'drunks, stoners, weirdos, military fruitcakes, sex addicts, rejects, dear little kiddies, honest family types' and militant machistas."

ANNOYED that the OBM, or the "World Assembly Office of Building Management," ignores or delays requests for office space for weeks on end.

PROPOSING that GA#8 is repealed, and new legislation be crafted that amends the above issues with GA#8 in a thorough and sensible manner.

Last clause can be taken two ways, but either way it makes the resolution illegal.
If "PROPOSING" does not constitute an action must be taken, then this has no effective repeal clause and is illegal for that reason.
If "PROPOSING" does constitute an action, then it reasonably follows that this resolution mandates replacement of GAR#8 and is illegal for doing something other than repealing.

Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#10

Proposed by: Kowashi

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Having Nuclear Weaponry will instead provoke more violence between WA nations and nations outside of WA. Only nations part of the WA that have been chosen to have Nuclear Weaponry should be entitled to Nuclear Weaponry. Having Nuclear Weaponry of small, tiny and unable nations which join WA is a mistake. This will only cause more disputes and make war cause more harm.

Asks for Nuclear Weaponry to only be in the hands of a chosen few and those chosen few to protect other nations in WA.

Demands unselected nations to start dismantling their Nuclear Arms as soon as possible.

Legislating in a repeal. Damned stupid plan. No repeals clause.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.
