An introduction.

I've been playing this game for a month or so I suppose. And I really just log on to answer issues and check how the last issues affected my nation. I've been looking at the world assembly and I have to say, its quite confusing.

Some of the language used in the proposals seem quite complicated and lawyer like. Could somebody tell me how I can wrap my head around what's going on? Maybe some tips or tricks to get started in the world assembly?

I'm not sure about the WA proposals, but I do know that this question is in the wrong forum, I am not sure where it should be though.

Just take time to slowly review over some of the things that go through the World Assembly. People make them so complicated and challenging to understand as they usually must to meet the standards for creating WA proposals. If you take the time you usually can figure it out. The title and reading the last few lines will usually sum it up and help you. If you need more help please feel free to telegram me, I am willing to help you anytime you need it and if you don't understand a WA act going through at the moment feel free to ask and I might be able to help summarize it for you. (Please do not ask what every single WA Proposal is but I am willing to help when you really need it)

No this question is not in the wrong forum. This is the perfect place to ask it, but this thread would have been the perfect place to ask. As a side note Omega, if your not sure, don;'t give out bad advice, as it helps no one.

I think the fastest way to learn is by reading a lot of examples. What I did was read through a few resolutions to get a general sense of how they were formed, then I read through the rules, then I read through a lot more proposals. It's kinda like doing homework

Thanks for the help so far fellas. I was trying to slowly start getting involved with the world assembly and I think a few tips here are a great place to get started.

It's very nice to see you taking deliberate steps here. So often newcomers want to write their own resolutions on day one. I wish you luck in learning about the festering snakepit.

Welcome to the Assembly! Glad to see you weren't as eager as me. Word of advice: the Stranger's Bar is a great place to dip your toes into RP and do it casually, but be warned: it can get a bit chaotic in there.

First thing you should know: The WA is secretly controlled by the evil, vicious, communist WA ELITE!!!!!!!!1111Be warned, even a nation you think you can trust may be part of this. REVOLT NOW!!111111
*cough*
Uh, we have this one guy called Alex Jones' nationstateBitely, and he says all kind of random stuff. Otherwise, the community here is pretty nice...

Well if you want my personal opinion. Stay away from all the WA talk and focus on joining a fun community! From there you can find out what you prefer to do here, whether that be RP, Raid, Write and Comment on WA Proposals, or just sit back and enjoy bickering about your favorite topics with new friends you'll make here.

EDIT: -removed-

Are you only capable of spam? This is someone who is legitimately asking for help, not your inane fucking babble.

Role playing is also very interesting, I'm pretty sure Atlasis famous for RPing. Also write some factbook said, look at other dispatches. It took me 1 full year to understand NS, one year of answering issues and changing my flag, but just with a different nation.

Post count doesn't mean much when there are things like TET out there. Post count + nation creation year would be a more reliable combo, but even that isn't proof of anyone knowing anything about RP, since NSG exists.

True. I usually hang around P2TM so I know a bunch about that but I'm clueless about International Incidents or Arts&Fiction.

I've learned not to go by nation founding year since it can be misleading.

Or the fact some of us have been here for many years, and switch nations? For instance, this nation is what three months old, yet I have been here for years. Am I to be judged on my post count and nation creation date?

OOC: No, because UFoC is your main nation. I wouldn't expect people to judge me based on the joke nation's post count and creation date. Like I said, it's not fool proof.

Ah... But not everyone knows my main nation. I rarely post on it.

It's in your siggy. And anyone who jumps into conclusions can be pointed toward said signature. Besides, everyone who matters, knows your background.
