"Sapient rights" does not mean you get to break laws humans are expected to follow.

Exactly! What humans get parking tickets for hanging out on the sidewalk?

Herby's doors and windows are ALWAYS locked when she's in the Strangers' Bar (unless she unlocks them for you). And, she has no accelerator, a mock steering wheel, and no gear shifter. So, no joyrides.

By all means, submit it. We'd even help campaign if it were necessary (I'm assuming not).

EDIT: I'm also assuming the reference to Herby will be taken out? :p

I say, vroom, keep it in of course! 8)

Naturally, I am deeply against this repeal. I do not want to lose my rights as a sapient. I mean, do you know how many parking tickets I used to rack up just by snoozing in WA nations? I don't want to go through that again.

Well, you won't lose your rights if you live in a reasonable enough nation anyway (or is Herby, represented by what seems to be a sapient automobile, a nation of organics?) -- what this repeal does is remove the nasty, easy-to-abuse stuff, for the sake of citizens who don't want to be that oppressed 'nymore, people who very reasonably believe corporations, towns, gangs, et alli don't deserve the same rights as individuals, and bureaucrats who don't want to receive complaints about how some folks' pet dogs are not considered sapient even though they should, among other, definitely less ridiculous but just as painful things. And besides, we are working on a replacement....

Also, I'll only drop the reference if it's illegal -- is it illegal? But I will probably move it somewhere less prominent -- don't want to make this seem like a joke or anything.

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!
Technological level: FUTURE TECH. We also have MAGICAL TECH, and a lot of the people here still play with MEDIEVAL TECH and PRESENT TECH. We're cool that way.

Uh, branding? It's only one of the more obvious rule violation types.

Too busy and too kinda-poor to campaign at the moment -- if anyone's not so busy and kinda-poor that's capable and willing to get this to vote, post here and pm me please.

"We find the accusations against the resolution for 'Protection of Sapient Rights' generally ridiculous, and we do not appreciate this effort to tear down what represents the closing of one of the biggest loopholes in WA history. However, we agree that these protections ought to extend to the mentally undeveloped or handicapped. Perhaps a new resolution--rather than a repeal--is in order?"

Beliazrael: The Overlordship is prepared to support this if you have a resolution waiting to replace the current one that improves upon the old "Protection of Sapient Rights".

I can help TG; do you have a form letter already written up?

I prefer to wait till something is at vote before I TG, though. That way you only have to hit the delegates who've voted on the resolution (and are therefore the most active) without having to telegram all 1,200+ of them. :{

I prefer TGing the old-fashioned way. If you're "kinda-poor" (and not so tech-savvy), it's really the way to go.

Isn't that three words?
Also, the only API I know how to (vaguely) manipulate is Minecraft forge. You just click that button and it installs, right?

I'll hopefully have a campaign tg ready by tomorrow.

So what happened here? Are you submitting soon or are RL events encumbering you?

I came back expecting to see my resolution repealed. Pleasantly surprised to find it delayed. This gives me the opportunity to work on the replacement, yes?
