[DRAFT] Anti-Anime Resolution

Postby Cyrilla » Tue May 19, 2015 6:12 pm

For years, anime and manga have been a blight on any country unfortunate enough to have access to them. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed, as anime and manga can have numerous dangerous impacts on a nation.

1. Anime encourages young people to be lazy. The term NEET, meaning "not in education, employment, or training," is used primarily by anime/manga otaku (fans), who hold it as a glorious lifestyle. Obviously this lack of productivity is harmful to a nation economically, and can lead to personal problem such as a lack of social skills and obesity. Several anime/manga have depicted NEET characters in a positive light, further justifying this lifestyle to fans.

2. Anime encourages unhealthy and unhygienic living. One need only to go to an anime convention to see it. Most of the people present are overweight, smell as if they haven't showered in a long time, or both. Most anime fans will binge watch a particular series if it has already ended, and most series are at or near any multiple of 13 for their episode count, which means hours spent sitting at a screen, staring, not doing any exercise of any sort. Visual novels (a child of anime) help encourage these people to let themselves go, making them believe they can succeed and get a romantic partner regardless of what they are.

3. Anime encourages social ineptitude. Many anime fans, instead of pursuing real relationships, are encouraged by anime to have a "waifu" or "husbando," an anime character they have romantic feelings for, to substitute a real person. As mentioned prior, anime fans often hide away in their rooms watching anime and not going out into public, preventing social interaction. Visual novels also give them what they feel is a substitute for interaction with people. Anime itself glorifies social ineptitude, with many anime in the "ecchi" and "harem" genres featuring protagonists who are socially inept but still manage to garner the attention of multiple attractive females, creating inaccurate views of reality.

4. Anime encourages sexual perversion. Anime fans often develop strange sexual perversions and fetishes thanks to anime and related material. Fans of the vertical shooter game "Touhou Project" have shown a fetish for armpits thanks to the protagonist's design. Thanks to anime-type material such as the visual novel Monster Girl Quest and the Monster Girl Encyclopedia, "teraphilia," or a fetish for monsters, has come into existence. Hentai (pornographic) anime and manga often features rape, sexual violence, and strange fetishes like tentacles, and borderline bestiality with thinks like "catgirls" and monster girls.

5. Anime encourages pedophilia. "Lolicon" and "lolis" are things often discussed and fantasized about by anime fans. Many anime fans call themselves lolicons and masturbate to lolicon anime and manga under the assumption that it isn't child porn. Many non-hentai anime even feature children with erotic undertones. The popular Monogatari franchise is an example; they started with one "loli" character, and her popularity led to them introducing more similar characters and increasing the sexual undertones surrounding those characters.

Hereby, with all reasons above, bans Anime, Manga, and other anime-derived products and media

This is illegal for a few reasons. First off, it does nothing to WA nations. Second off, almost the entire thing is illegal for real life violations. NS =/= RL.
You should really post this stuff on the forums before submitting.

How exactly do you intend to address these alleged problems? I see no operative clause or legally binding directives in this draft. As you develop the resolution, be sure not to violate GAR #30 or overlap with GAR #300.

Edit: Oh, you already submitted it. If you're serious about turning this into a coherent WA resolution and getting it a chance to vote, I would ask the Secretariat to pull it so you can re-draft with the necessary improvements - chief among them stating exactly what the resolution requires WA nations to do. If they pull it before you request that they do so, they may hold it against you.

I can not honestly see how this is an international issue, nor how it could possibly be reworked into something approaching passable. Anti-anime? Really? Fine, we get it, you don't like anime. That doesn.t make it something worth legislating on.

Then again, maybe we should also legislate on Wile E Coyote and Elmar Fudd, they're pretty violent, and use guns and bombs, or so I hear.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

Ricardo sat at the Scionte delegation's desk, quietly yet thoughtfully following the debate and preparing to share his government's opinion on the draft proposed by the most venerable ambassador from Cyrilla. Ready to address the assembly, he began to arrange his notes, but before he rose, he noticed, just barely, small pulses of water emanating from the center of his drinking water. And then he saw his pen, which just a moment ago had lay still, begin to shake frenetically on the desk. And then the entire room seemed to shake as his body vibrated violently in his chair. Suddenly, a large portion of the assembly wall burst forth as a gargantuan, physically impossible mech dove through, head first, and rolled onto the assembly floor. Amidst the chaos, the cockpit opened to reveal ambassador Santos, whose hair had turned blue, adorned in a skin tight jump suit. The most honorable pilot then jumped from what was at least forty feet onto the floor, unharmed, and moved toward the Scionte delegation's desk brandishing a stamp. She snatched the proposed legislation from Ricardo, who was visibly annoyed at this point, and laid it flat on the table. She then drew her stamp with such force that the floor beneath her shattered and the handle of the stamp splintered. After leaving an indelible message on the proposal, she retreated back to her mech, scaling a four story climb with a single jump. As the mech broke out into a full sprint, diving again head first out the window, Ricardo read the message left by his boss: "This will (not) pass."

OOC: It's actually an extremely geeky reference to the remake of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and it's really weird habit of putting the term "(not)" in all of its titles, but I'm certainly not disappointed if that's what you've gotten out of it.

It's plagiarised. :p

Okay, well you know what's worse than anime? Plagiarism. Write your own proposal. Start from scratch.

Or better yet, watch some Ghost in the Shell, pretend you have something in common with the laughing man like all those fools who think the protagonist in V for Vendetta is the guy in the mask, and move on.

Wow I really must say I am impressed, once again humanity has found away to paint a group under a same brush. From the Jews, to the Muslims, to the Germans during WWII, to Christianity, to the Asians, To the Blacks, To the Otakus, To Hiphop/Rap Music, to Heavy Metal Music,Violent Music etc. People like to find scapegoats for everything and paint all under a paint brush. But what do that matter since I'm a fat single shut-in godless man (I am non of the above).

But that is besides the point honestly I do not even see the point of redrafting this.

1. Under what authority would the WA have to ban a form of entertainment in a sovereign nation.
2. What would this mean for WA nations that are anime based.
3. Has the possibility ever occurred to you that if this resolution makes it to the floor somehow and passes (By some work of evil imo) it could be a precedent for other anti sovereignty bans?
4. So let me get this straight, you got trolled by "Otakus" so now you are releasing your rage on those who use this site. And want me to believe in an unbiased view that this body has the right to ban a product in a sovereign nation.

Alright, I'm going to try to be nice here. In no way will this bill ever pass. There are a few different reasons for this:

1: You do not include any of the methods of enforcing this ban, nor any consequences for violating it within the resolution.

2: It isn't the anime making the decision for people to become shut-in NEET Otaku, it's the people themselves making their own decision.

3: Watching anime costs money, therefore "Otaku" have to find a way to support themselves and their hobby somehow, so they will be productive to society at least part of the time.

4: You are only citing certain genres of anime, of which you do not specifically include action and adventure series, which are two of the most popular genres of anime.

5: It would deal harm to many nations economies, as well as international trade to ban any entertainment medium.

6: In this proposal, you are attempting to override the sovereignty of many nations and obstructing self-governance.

7: It's an illogical proposal based on hatred towards a specific group of people and their actions and beliefs.

8: The proposal contains plagiarism.

I personally enjoy watching anime in my free time, but also enjoy contributing to society as well.

Anti-Anime Resolution

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Cyrilla

Description: For years, anime and manga have been a blight on any country unfortunate enough to have access to them.

3. Anime encourages sexual perversion. Anime fans often develop strange sexual perversions and fetishes thanks to anime and related material. Hentai (pornographic) anime and manga often features rape, sexual violence, and strange fetishes like tentacles, and borderline bestiality with thinks like "catgirls" and monster girls.
4. Anime encourages pedophilia. "Lolicon" and "lolis" are things often discussed and fantasized about by anime fans. Lolicon is a portmanteau of "Lolita complex," a Japanese expression meaning pedophile attracted to underage girls. The alternate is shotacon, which is the same but with underage boys.

As Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Helen Keller can all see, you merely submitted the same plagiarized essay twice.

As Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Helen Keller can all see, you merely submitted the same plagiarized essay twice.
