Repeal "Nuclear Arms Possession Act"

Postby Crazy Fun » Tue Apr 21, 2015 2:27 am

Noting that nations can be futile to each other.

Acknowledging that something must be done to defend these nations.

Stating that nuclear defence is not the answer, and is very dangerous and could create a horrific war.

Therefore, Crazy Fun is respectfully suggesting a repeal on the previous resolution.

Most everyone who has tried to repeal NAPA has failed. And, I must say, this doesn't look anymore promising than the rest.

Your last clause is illegal, branding.
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

Firstly, consult the GA Proposal Rules. It's a good place to start for any new author. As Kaboomlandia, your proposal - as is - is illegal as a repeal. Branding (eg, putting your name in the proposal text) is one violation. The second issue with this clause is it's a "suggestion" rather than affirmative. A good affirmative clause would be "Therefore repeals resolution #10: Nuclear Arms Possession Act".

Secondly, you may want to proofreading your wording. Your first clause is half a sentence.

Thirdly (and not a issue of whether your repeal is legal), as it is your repeal is vaguely worded. A good repeal targets specific elements of the resolution in question. Yes, war is bad; nuclear weapons are bad but how does this relate to the resolution? Here's an example repeal targeting the same resolution.

Please tell me that it was someone else that had the illegal NAPA repeal.
