Candidates: The two teams with the highest strength-of-schedule that are not in the playoffs or a better bowl.
Stadium: Hobbs Stadium, capacity 89,500. Located in the Valorem-Meritus Urban District, Valorem's capital and center of tourism. The Urban District has the nation's best public transit system and is the most well-equipped city to handle gameday traffic. Hobbs Stadium is home to the Meritus Eagles, one of Valorem's professional football teams.
Reiner's sports division is interested in hosting an NSCF bowl to advertise its football equipment to other countries in the NSCF. This bowl honors the teams that dealt with the most adversity in the league by selecting based on strength of schedule.

I'm not sure how scorination works - does the hosting country scorinate the game or is that done by the NSCF commissioner?

I'll add your bowl if possible when I am setting the match-ups, but it doesn't look like there will be enough bowl-eligible teams to support a fifth bowl game this season. Sorry!

Alright, understood. Where would the Reiner Bowl rank, anyway? Above or below the Drawk Bowl?

Priority in selecting teams is given based on the order that the bowls were proposed. Since the Reiner Bowl was rather late, it would have last pickings.

Yes, we will play that game next season. Loyola will host you at Liberty Stadium.

NSCF Committee members - if you could reply to the telegram you received Sunday within the next 12 hours...that would be great. :)

At the moment, less than half of you have voted and it's a dead head between several schools for the playoff spots.

Oh man... This is a crazy end to the season. On the good side, I've sent two schools to the playoffs in the first season that I've had time to RP for real in this. On the other hand, the fact that Maris visits Castle might cause me to have an earlier exit.

How is the RP going to be graded in this case? Do both of my schools get the bonus or what? I ask because it looks like it's in my best interests for the Friars to advance, based on earlier results.

Good luck in the playoffs. Rough end to the season for Konigsberg, but you can't win them all.

Valorem wrote:Rough end to the season for Konigsberg, but you can't win them all.

If it's any consolation, Konigsberg are now technically the unofficial college football world champions.
By that, I mean they hold one of the titles currently recognised and tracked by Oracle (my IC stats and analysis organisation) in the same fashion as a boxing championship...

I mean... technically, Loyola-Istria are the actual (lineal) world champions... but because they didn't enter NSCF 15, Oracle awarded two new titles. Loyola-Istria will be reinstated as lineal champions if/when they return to NSCF, but for the time being, there are two other champion teams.

Anyway, one of those titles was won by St Croix in week 9. They then lost it to Drawk Corp in week 12, who then lost it to Konigsberg in week 13. For records purposes, that particular one is the "Legacy championship", which was created this season and awarded to the then-number-one ranked team in NSCF as a response to the absence of the lineal champion.

The other (which is held by Stoneshore atm) is the "Silver championship", which is technically a branch of the lineal championship line. It was awarded to the last lineal champion before Loyola-Istria (Harbor College) and has been tracked from there.

Wait, what? We were the World Champions for a week? Cool :p

Also, good luck to Konigsberg. Hopefully y'all can keep the Legacy Championship through the Pioneer Bowl.

...I'm still confused as to what exactly the lineal championship is. So it transfers from its host every time the host loses a game?

Starting from the first NSCF Championship game, yes. It's basically the same as this

So for college football in our multiverse, Utica were the first champions, having beaten UArk in the championship game at the end of NSCF season 1.
After that, the first time Utica lost, the team that beat them became the new unofficial world champions
Then when that team lost, the championship changed hands again... And so on... like a boxing title belt.

Lineal championships are supposed to be an unbroken line of succession, wherein the holder cannot lose the title without being beaten (hence the name) but this isn't always possible, so I implemented my own set of rules to crown new champions whenever that happens.

Ugh, I can't believe Mount Maris lost twice to Castle in a season. Having them win was probably my one shot at a deep run since unlike Castle, they can actually score. We'll see soon if defense really wins championships.

Well, it looks like I can focus on the World Bowl now seeing as I've been knocked out. Third loss in a row. What happened to my team, we just collapsed?

Uh, so something came up recently IRL. A death, actually. It's not someone that I was close to, which is the only good side of this, but I'm still going to have to take an unplanned trip home soon and I might be gone for like a week. One of the things on my schedule that's getting thrown off by this is NS, and so it looks like I'll be skipping RPing in the IBC and the World Bowl this time around. I really don't want to skip NSCF though because Castle is in the semifinals right now. I still have a few days before I leave, so if I quickly wrote up three posts for the next rounds, would I be able to send them to the NSCF account to be posted and graded? I know Castle could get eliminated in the next round and I'll have written two posts I didn't need to, but I'll take the risk and write enough to RP in the title game too if I make it.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm going to be in a hotel so I might be able to post some things. As in, I'll be able to make shorter OOC posts or update my newswire, etc, but I'm not going to be able to do the serious writing I've been doing earlier in the competition. I might be able to get something up before I go to at least cover the next round... We'll see.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Redvale.

Yes, if you have any work you absolutely can't post yourself, you can send it on to the NSCF account in advance instead.

Well, looks like I won't have to post for the title game after all, even though I found out I might not have to leave until the weekend.

Congrats on moving on, Quebec... This is the most disappointing loss I've had on NS so far though, and that includes getting left out of the World Cup group stages because of dropping one point.

I'm sorry it didn't work out this time. Please know, however, that your RPs were a pleasure to read throughout the tournament. Same sentiment goes to Kalalau, who I was also disappointed to see eliminated.

Your schools did fantastic considering they started out as unranked debutants. You'll be well-positioned for a strong push in NSCF 16 if Mount Maris and Castle decide to return, which I hope they do.

Nevertheless, RCU vs. USC is a damn fine championship game if I don't say so myself! The flagship Cosumarite vs. Quebecois NSCF schools.

I've been using Queb as my third-party scorinator, but obviously, we'll need a new one now. Telegram me or NSCF if you're interested in scoring the NSCF 15 Championship Game.

Thanks, both schools will definitely return. Albeit, Castle will return with a completely different system and a quarterback battle, and Mount Maris might have a new head coach after Arend Starke's gamble single handedly knocked them out of the playoffs, and because he didn't help the locker room in the long run. You may even see Francis Allan selling out if the Friars pull a typical Marisian move and steal a promising young head coach from a major rival. Hopefully Raynor stays out next season too also, because I can't see the Friars repeating over them.

Also, how does conference realignment work exactly? Both schools have a much better chance if they aren't beating up on each other next season.

I look forward to NSCF 16 with Konigsberg, and to our budding rivalry with Maris and Castle.
