WC 52 - CAFUNDÉU/NETHERTOPIA

The Rosters thread

The nations of this universe are unique, each one have very specific characteristic, stuff that may be even seen as unreal in other nations... the same happens with their National Teams. You know, some nations are populated by very special species, or have some interesting cultures. In the World Cup history, we had football teams composed by gnomes, elves, sentient objects, non-sentient but football-playing food... and what about teams of criminals, philosophers, doctors, monks... just an example of the diversity that the World Cup offers, a reflection of the world we live. You know, some nations even have teams composed by professional football players!

And this is the place to put your roster (your team's squad, the list of players). Any information about your team is welcome here, from the names and positions of the players to the information about the coach, the stadium, the kits and things about the country. The information you post here can help a lot other participating countries to RP games against you (or other stories). Hmm... it seems that the lazyness I usually have in developing introduction paragraphs for my league was carried over to this post, as this is the same paragraph used in WC48's rosters thread... to add something new, then: do not forget that the other people will check here the info about your squad, so this is a major source of information for anyone!

So, feel free to post here your squad list and other general information about your team.

Also, choose a style modifier from -3 (most defensive) to +3 (most offensive), which will determine the attitude of your country (defensive or offensive).

And, to finish, you can tell the other participants what they can or cannot do in their RPs involving your team, completing the RP permissions box:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

Hey. This is a semi-serious nation (despite the flag), which operates on the ideals of libertarian municipalism and Communalism. I don't RP though (at least not currently), and you'll probably only see me on Forum 7 or General.

Veteran of the site for 7 years (yes, I lied about my age, bc I was too precocious for my own good).

Pro: Libertarian socialism (social anarchism), Communalism, social ecology, religious freedom, rights for each and every LGBT individual everywhere, equality, feminism, Dubcek, Marxism.
Anti: Oppression, capitalism, state/church intermingling, Marxist-Leninism, Maoism, fundamentalism, creationists.
16, British, cis male scum, bisexual, lover of books, indie music and writing. Expects mutual civility and decorum during debates.

THE FIEFDOM OF COSUMAR NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
WORLD CUP 52

In the last World Cup, the 51st edition of the event, Cosumar made its international football debut. Having missed the Baptism of Fire, the Dragons were in a very poor position to succeed. As the competition progressed this became quite obvious. Although starting off ok and reaching as high as 6th in their group for awhile Cosumar lost all the rest of their games and finished in 9th, ahead of only Zarbli. It was definitely a disappointing Cup for the Cosumaran squad. But no one really expected them to do any better, the roster was thrown together at the last second and was missing most of Cosumar's top athletes and the team had little time to train.

This Cup, the 52nd edition, is much different for Cosumar. Of last year's 17 players, only 8 made the team this year. For more information about the roster see the roster section below. This time, the team has had months to prepare. The fans expect a better Cup, maybe not qualifying yet, but better. it all depends on the group draw which hosts Cafundeu and Nethertopia have not yet released.

For information about this years Cosumar team see the rest of the post below.

Basic Team Information
Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar
Team Nickname: Dragons
Colors: Dark blue and silver (see uniforms)
Stadium: Fire River Arena
Location: Ramusok, Cosumar
Capacity: 80,000
Experience: World Cup 51 was our debut
Team: 17 players, 16 of which are human. The other is Vloo (native Cosumaran sentient species). The team is young featuring 3 teens.

The Roster
(position, name, age, description)

GK Jude Adjei-Kontoh (26)
Adjei-Kontoh is a very solid goalie that rarely makes mistakes. He is very passionate about football
GK Mike Dupree (35)
Dupree is a respected veteran in Cosumar and is a reliable backup for Adjei-Kontoh
DF William Riley (18)
Riley is a young soccer phenomenon from Cirdaw Town. He came straight out of high school to professional football. Small but fast
DF Kennedy Kopenhaver (25)
Kennedy is infamous for being very emotional and gets more penalties than anyone else on the roster. But he is very quick and skilled
DF Thomas Hair (25)
Thomas is a quiet man off the field, but when he plays soccer he becomes a different person. Not as fast but great awareness and feet
DF Joel Novamo (26)
Novamo has potential but it always seems like he is not trying hard. He is tall and intimidating
DF Lawrence Copper (30)
Lawrence Copper is the jokester of the team, always making sure everyone has fun. He hustles and tries hard but isn't as skilled
DF Jarsh Na'Rield (32)
Na'Rield is the only non-human on the team and prefers to keep to himself. He is an all around average football player
MF Keenen Juengerman (27)
Juengerman is a foreign football player who emigrated to Cosumar. He is very good but can't speak Cosumaran so that complicates things
MF Teemu Koponen (24)
Koponen is a proud man of Scandanavian descent. He has the strongest leg on the team. He once kicked the ball so hard it popped
MF Irvinn Rincon (28)
Rincon is known as the team leader or captain. He rallies the team and leads by example. He is one of Cosumar's best football players
MF Brian Emerson (22)
Emerson is the smallest player on the team. He makes up for it for being deceptively quick. He is very intelligent and level headed
MF Kalvin Feldman (19)
Feldman is an extremely talented young player. However, he is undeveloped and raw. This will be a learning experience for him.
ST Luke Crisalus (19)
Luke Crisalus is Cosumaran royalty, little brother of the Duchess. He is much like Feldman but he is more developed
ST Jakk Klyde (21)
Klyde is the most famed sports figure in Cosumar. He is on Cosumar's national team in nearly every sport. He is very diverse and athletic
ST Rikki Varshney (22)
Varshney led the team in goals in WC 51, scoring two hat tricks. He is the best on the team at getting the ball into the goal
FW Frederick Finnigan (34)
Finnigan is an experienced veteran who has played professionaly for 16 years. He has not lost a step over the years

This roster is radically different from World Cup 51's. Less than half of last years' players remain. Among the players cut were GK Rahul Shetty, DF Srikar Donopati, DF Riley Mrozek, DF David Eesaw, DF Dan Kim, MF Hayden Henry, ST Shane Jestis, ST Frank Gerome, and FW Kevin Park.

Returning players are GK Jude Adjei-Kontoh, DF Thomas Hair, DF Joel Novamo, MF Keenan Juengerman, MF Teemu Koponen, MF Irvinn Rincon, MF Brian Emerson, and ST Rikki Varshney.

New athletes are DF William Riley, GK Mike Dupree, DF Kennedy Kopenhaver, DF Lawrence Copper, DF Jarsh Na'Rield, MF Kalvin Feldman, ST Luke Crisalus, ST Jakk Klyde, and FW Frederick Finnigan.

Coaching Staff and Team Captains

Manager: Barry Feldman

Barry Feldman is the father of MF Kalvin Feldman. This is his first time to coach a World Cup team. Don't worry he has plenty of experience coaching Cosumar's best domestic football team the Kaldukosk Krushers. He is currently 41 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time.

Assistant Manager: Randy Lewis

Randy Lewis has been an iconic figure in Cosumaran football for decades. Many years ago he was a famed striker for the Coroford Sharks. He retired and became a head coach at age 40. he held that job for 22 years until he was 62. He then retired and has disappeared from the public eye. Many thought he was dead. Now he is 74 and is returning to assist Feldman with World Cup 52.

Team Captain: Irvinn Rincon
Defense Positional Captain: Thomas Hair
Midfield Positional Captain: Irvinn Rincon
Striker Positional Captain: Rikki Varshney

For descriptions of the team captains see the roster section

Uniforms

Image

Cosumar has three uniforms (left to right) home, away, and alternate. Unfortunately Cosumar must wear the same uniforms as the last cup which feature the old flag of Cosumar. New uniforms are being made and when completed will replace these. But until then, these are Cosumar's uniforms.

Elemanu 'Five Stars'
Image

Elemanu is a small nation of over a hundred thousand people. The nation is comprised of five islands and a mainland territory, however, only the largest and cetral island (Elemanu) has any major inhabitations. The capital of Elemanu is Amori, which has a population of over twenty thousand. The next major city is Damasa, which is situated close to Amori, and has over ten thousand people. Most games will be played in Amori Football Stadium, the home ground of Amori City Lions and Amori East Penguins, which has just been expanded to a capacity of fifteen thousand people.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Image

Style: -1
Formation: 4-5-1 or 4-4-2

Coach: Nelson Senegal (59) [Damasa City Seals] Nelson is the coach of the two-time Elemanu National League Champions Damasa City, led Elemanu to the quarter-finals of the Baptism of Fire and is a very experienced coach. He rarely lets lets his temper get the better of him, but expects discipline from his players.
Assistant: Benita Zilnicki (40) [Amori East Penguins] Benita is the coach of Damasa City rivals and current two-time champions Amori East. She is a very passionate coach but tries to hold her tounge while around her rival and former coach.

Goalkeepers:
Erik Novy (26) [Amori East Penguins] Erik is a talented keeper and by far the best in Elemanu. In the last season he let through just ten goals in twenty-six games.
Jessie Castello (31) [Damasa City Seals] Jessie, captain of the Seals, is a experienced keeper, but relies on the defensive line and plays under the shadow of the great Erik Novy.

Defenders:
Julio Albury (19) [Damasa City Seals] Another of the young players, Julio was instrumental in ensuring Damasa City won the past two championships.
Darren Bremmer (19) [Amori North Petrels] Darren is the first of the young players, and one of the quickest players in the game. He is good at reading players and hounding strikers.
Selena Canavan (26) [Amori East Penguins] Selena is one of the top defenders in Elemanu and works well with Erik, especially since they grew up together.
Jeanie Connally (c) (34) [Amori East Penguins] Jeanie is the captain of the Penguins and one of the most experienced players in the team. She likes to control the game from near the goal with Selena and Erik.
Fernando Keitt (34) [Westville City Genets] Fernando is the captain of the Genets and almost single-handedly ensured his team had one of the best defensive records in the league.
Clinton Halladay (30) [Mount Isina Dogs] Captain of the Dogs, he is a brutal defender and often leaves his opponents bruised and wary.

Midfielders:
Jami Adamski (25) [Damasa City Seals] Jami is another member of the Damasa City midfield and is a master controller of the ball.
Pearlie Alberico (30) [Amori West Orcas] Pearlie is captain of the Orcas, but is known for being a little dirty in her game.
Margery Broder (35) [Amori East Penguins] An extremely fit and experienced midfielder, Margery is one of the older generation of player who wants to go out with a bang.
Tanisha Ellingwood (23) [Amori East Penguins] Tanisha is a player who only likes to be on the right wing and is deadly accurate on her crosses.
Melisa Hazan (22) [Damasa City Seals] Melisa is the third Damasa City midfielder and has a tendency to milk penalties.
Sharron McShan (35) [Kesser City Skuas] Sharron is a very experienced midfielder and captain of the Skuas. She likes to control the ball and the players around her.
Avis Ritch (19) [Damasa City Seals] Avis grew up with Julio and is part of the best midfield in Elemanu. He is quick with his feet and quick to pass to his teammates.
Kathrine Rylander (33) [Amori North Petrels] Katherine is captain of the Amori North Petrels and baby sister of Jeanie Connally. Kathrine is more likely to attack from a defensive turnover.

Strikers
Elsie Gillenwater (19) [Amori East Penguins] Elsie has been named as a star of the future, but is let down by a lackluster midfield in the Penguins. As the youngest player in the team she will be with Elemanu for many years to come. She was the top scorer for Elemanu in the Baptism of Fire.
Paul Madrigal (vc) (29) [Foroch Raiders (Tyrrin)] Paul Madrigal is the best striker in Elemanu and has signed a contract to become the first Elemanu player to go overseas. While Jeanie controls the game from the rear, Paul controls the scoring element.
Ryan Fredette (24) [Amori West Orcas] Ryan is the master of the long shot, but is not so good at ball control.
Annabelle Quisenberry (22) [Kesser City Skuas] Annabelle is a supremely talented striker and likes to get up close to the keeper before scoring.

A small preview of roster's change:

The team has lots of change since the last time they play World Cup. First of all Liechtenstein Hesky is a new goalkeeper. He play for Spartak Leningrad and had a wonderful season playing for the team. Good reflexibility, can jump high and a good sense for penalty, he is a reasonable substitution for the experienced but aging Illyanich Detrov.

Secondly, Goliel Javic and Valdemar Illiosky make a great addition for the team. These young warriors have everything that a defense need: great stamina, good strength and they can take ball from various position, even if they have fallen down. We have great hope for them.

The Klovak brothers, like the Irkurst brothers, they have good technique and can play with each other fluently. Their one-two combination and their nearly perfect passing make them dangerous opponent for any defender.

And last, but not least, Descarte Montrov, our young talent, which had scored more than 20 goals in 10 matches in our Premier League. His youth, strength, stamina and moreover, superb skill are our hope in qualified for the World Cup. But since he is only 20 years old, so he will have to play alongside our old general, Antonio Kalashnikov to gain some more experience before he can play independently.

ROSTER
First Team (4-3-2-1)
GK Zao Mandarin (27)
A passionate football player, Zao Mandarin, towering over most normal people, is a huge presence in the box, using size, strength and cunning to get the ball down and away from the goal. He does, over, have a weakness againsts Penalties

LB Kyo Min (22)
A player who loves to use fancy footballs to get the ball up the field. He is often mobile and does well defending against Freekicks and corners.

RB Tybi Kinjo CAPTAIN (26)
Tybi Kinjo is a very defense-minded defender, and likes to get into the box and stop goals, and also likes to tackle. He is aggressive and likes to get up during Corners and Freekicks to help the team

LCB Gu Monk (19)
One of the youngest players going to the world cup, Gu Monk is by far one of the better players on this years Yingonite side. With agility, strength and tactics, he is the natural successor to the more experience Tybi Kinjo. Placed in defense to supplement it, he otherwise is a natural midfielder, and is expected to become a midfielder by next World Cup.

RCB JJ (28)
An older player on the team, JJ is renowned for his defensive strategy and skill. He spends days practicing tackles, and has earned himself a nickname 'Kijnsei' or 'Brickwall'

LDM Sam Song (21)
Fast and attack minded, Sam Song balances out the team, and creates a perfect transition between the Defense and the Midfield. Moving the ball up the field, he often sets up the strikers and Offensive midfielders for their goals. However, he also is very quick to run back to the other side of the field to defend

RDM Chan Lee (25)
Like his counterpart, Sam Song, Chan Lee is also attack minded. Lee likes to patiently pass and move the ball up the field, and when Song goes off with the ball, Lee can often bee found in the Centre-Defensive-Midfield position, filling the shoes of Song.

LMF Singseimin Monk (23)
Brother of Gu Monk, Singseimin Monk is a strong player known for his powerful kicks. It is rumored he kicked a ball so hard, it tore through the net. He is the number one goalscorer for the team, and is brilliant at corner kicks.

RMF Ozuki Nakamura (20)
A young player, Nakamura is known for his dribbling, and also his free kicks. He is the number two goalscorer for the team, however in Domestic soccer, he is #1.

CMF Zuko Ying (27)
Zuko Ying, the Centre-Midfielder, is a very mobile player, who often weaves himself past the defense to get goals. He is known for his leadership when Kinjo is off the field.

S Zheng Mei-Lo-Kyenga (24)
Simply Called Kyenga, MLK is an amazing striker. During possesion, he passes to his wingers, runs into the box and heads it in. He is a tall player, and is known for his amazing headers.

GK Lonoko Hing (21)
GK Jon Zenzouki (33)
CB Hinjono Tarr (29)
CB Glok Rafka (17)
LB Grono Chan (23)

S Gorgi Vicente (24)

MANAGEMENT
Baron Von Novosibrik
The Baron aims to bring East Ying to a qualification during their first ever world cup. He wants to bring an attack minded, although a solid defense, to the table for the Yingonite team. He plans to use the speedy midfielders and strong defenders to wear down opponent teams to gain oppritunities.

STYLE MODIFIER
+1.9
Attack minded, while still staying strong in the back.

Starblaydia's WC52 Roster
Kuu's failure, Martinez's opportunity

Staff
FM. Francisco Martinez, Manager, 50 - World Cup 47 Winner, Di Bradini Cup 14 Winning Manager
58 Caps, 6 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Fresh from taking Nethertopia to 3rd Place in World Cup 51, Martinez has taken the Starblaydi Under-21s to become Champions of the World and now tries his hand at the senior side for the first time. He has switched Starblaydia from their traditional 4-4-2 diamond to a 4-2-3-1 and, in a hugely controversial decision, has left out 84 goal record Elven scorer Valrauncion from the squad as he looks to bring a new hard-working style to Starblaydia's play.

Goalkeepers
1. Dacil Taniquentar†, GK, 9,990 - Petardos S/A (Cafundéu) - World Cup 44 & 47 Winner
167 Caps, 0 Goals (0 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
The rock, the hard place, the frying pan and the fire all in one, Dacil Taniquentar continually earns his place with a string of excellent, commanding performances. He has effectively owned the #1 shirt since World Cup 44. Has hinted he may consider retiring from football when he reaches 10,000 years of age.

12. JP Merioneth, GK, 27 - Foxchester Raiders
3 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Were it not for Taniquentar, Merioneth would be a shoe-in for the starting spot, as he's the best goalie in Starblaydia today. Utterly fearless, he has that 'crazy goalie' look to him when he's on the pitch. So far hasn't dropped too many clangers, but has kept a lot of clean sheets.

19. Mikel Caesar Gomez, GK, 23 - Corinthian Spirits - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
Uncapped (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Though described as 'weak' in the 14th Di Bradini Cup, his side went further in that competition than any Starblaydi Under-21 side in over 50 years. Definitely one for the future.

Defenders
2. Thomas Ocra, R/CB, 27 - Atlantas Klaipaada (Somewhereistonia)
7 Caps, 1 Goal (9 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Solid and unglamorous, Ocra is a big defender who gets the job done without any fuss. Good in the air but by no means an attacking Full-Back.

3. Deforest Emdraté, C/LB, 28 - Volodiscow Resistance (Somewhereistonia)
12 Caps, 1 Goal (5 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)

5. Daeron Avathar†, C/LB, 8,782 - Telcontarë - World Cup 44 Winner
113 Caps, 11 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Comfortable at Centre-Back or at Left-Back, Avathar is an excellent positional defender, tall and rangy, who also gets on the scoresheet with near metronomic regularity, on average every 10 games.

6. Ricardo Bianchi, CB, 29 - Jhanna United
7 Caps, 0 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)

13. Wystan Fuller, LB, 26 - Tabeck FC
9 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)

14. Pascal Wilkinson, R/CB, 23 - Cedrus Soundgardia - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
3 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Comfortable at either right Full-Back or Centre-Back, Pascal

20. Jin Dong Yong, CB, 26 - Seoan Cheonma (Daehanjeiguk)
1 Cap, 0 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)

Midfielders
4. Pablo Velez-Rivas, DM, 26 - Tabeck FC
8 Caps, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
When compared to Diaz, Velez-Rivas is quite the terrier, nipping at ankles, chasing down the ball and generally making a complete nuisance of himself to the opposing team. If you want the ball winning back in a hurry, he's your man.

7. Alberto Diaz, DM, 22 - Tenderville United (Nethertopia) - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
7 Caps, 1 Goal (7 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Led the Under-21s to their best Di Bradini Cup performance in over a century with a series of commanding performances. A great prospect with plenty of potential, but is probably too young and inexperienced to hold an entire international midfield together on his own.

8. Ázëwyn Fëanáro*†, Captain, AM, 3,937 - Telcontarë - World Cup 44 & 47 Winner
168 Caps (Record),44 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Her eighth straight selection to the #8 shirt, her fourth time as Captain, with two World Cup Winners Medals in her collection. She's the record cap winner - whether man, woman, human, elf or Dwarf - for her country and can lay a decent claim to be Starblaydia's best ever player. A future World Cup Hall of Famer if ever we saw one.

10. Jeremy Reid, RM, 22 - Foxchester Raiders - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
3 Caps, 0 Goals (9 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Pacey, hard-working midfielder with the ability to go past defenders and awareness to use the ball effectively.

11. Isabella Roshanak*, LM, 25 - Corinthian Spirits
11 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Daughter of the great striker Soraya Roshanak, Isabella is a fine left-sided midfielder, playing for her mother's club. Has a great turn of speed, good passing and crossing ability, as well as an eye for goal.

15. Yantur Canion, C/DM, 4,716 - Telcontarë
53 Caps, 1 Goal (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Canion, along with Otarion Fanorin, is one of the only Starblaydi elven footballers not to have won either World Cup 44 or 47. This time he will play as a back-up to Diaz and Velez-Rivas .

16. Raphael Lujan, C/AM, 21 - FC Farça - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
Another Di Bradini Cup 14 winner who made great strides in that tournament with incisive playmaking, distribution and a work-rate usually not found in simple attack-minded midfielders. Strikes a great free kick, too.

21. Durin Nulukkuzdin^, LM/LW, 20 - Dinamo Karrakiv (Somewhereistonia) - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
Uncapped (6 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
They say Dwarves are very dangerous over short distances, but since he was spotted biting a tough-tackling opponent in the inner thigh region, Nulukkuzdin is dangerous all the time. Very fast, very good crosses and a hammer of a shot on him, too. Not great at heading though, as you might expect.

Forwards
9. Aidan Kuu, SC, 25 - Raynor City United (Valanora)
10 Caps, 6 Goals (5 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 level)
One of the few players who came out of his father's regime with any credit, Aidan Kuu managed to equal Valrauncion's WC51 tally by playing half the amount of games, leading the young man to lead the line for his country, ironically, only once his father has left the coach's job. Quite simply a great striker, with a great pedigree and some excellent club performances, including appearing in the 22nd TQCC Final.

17. Benito Benitez, SC, 29 - Tabeck FC
25 Caps, 9 Goals (5 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 level)
Solid, dependable and works hard for the team. 'Beni-Beni' is the most experienced human striker at this level, and will be looking to impress and increase his tally in what might be his last World Cup squad appearance. He's given himself six more goals as a target for the rest of his career, in order to gain entry to the auspicious Rapaii 15 club.

18. Carnophin Narquelie†, CF/SC, 5,004 - Unattached, training at Telcontarë - World Cup 47 Winner
77 Caps, 30 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Edged Valrauncion out of the squad by top-scoring for the squad, for the first time, in the World Cup 51 campaign. Big and powerful, Narquelie is a great target man and currently open to offers from famous clubs who's reputation he can live up to.

22. Soronúmë†, SC/RW, 8,616 - Telcontarë - World Cup 44 & 47 Winner
142 Caps, 36 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
A flying winger-come-striker who, despite a poor WC51 campaign, is included for his versatility as an outside right as well as a full-blown striker. Always seems to be in the right place at the right time, usually because he has just set the grass on fire sprinting there.

23. Ben Lutwidge, SC, 21 - Montepool Waves - Di Bradini Cup 14 Winner
2 Caps, 0 Goals (8 Caps, 7 Goals at Under-21 level)
A brilliant performance in the 14th Di Bradini Cup, where he scored a goal in every game, has seen him enter the top 10 for Starblaydi U21 all-time goalscorers and him bumped straight into the senior side for experience and as an impact player.

Tarrentum Falcons

Managerial Staff
Manager- Gregori Burindi has led the Napoliroma Imperials to five out of the last seven Tarrentum Premier Football League Cup Championships. Burindi successfully brought the Imperials into the TPFL from the Armed Forces League (AFL) only 10 years ago and has found tremendous success since. His ability to help negotiate high-end contracts for the best footballers in Tarrentum has lent to the incredible success of the Imperials.
Assistant ManagerAlexander Italiana, the magnificent brother of Tarrentum’s Eternal Supreme President Borgia Italiana, has been a meddling manager of FC Yuppers, in the TPFL, for five years. His appointment is largely seen as politically and corporately focused as his nephew, Supreme President Cesare Italiana, was largely instrumental in putting his name forward. The Yupping Yuppers are also owned by Alexander’s food company, Yuppers…“For Supper!” (as the slogan goes).
Head CoachDelphine Gabriella Italiana, sister to Supreme President Cesare Italiana, Delphine is the only female coach in the TPFL. Her credentials are beyond reproach however as she has lead the Krozuy Academics to three out of the last five Cup Championship Matches (but has lost them all). Delphine was installed as the coach of the national team after the Imperials coach was hospitalized for food poisoning.

Starters names are bolded, Primary position denoted by ^^
(Name; Birth City, Tarrentum Premier League Football Club)

Strikers
Rubinu Warti; Lake Empress, Krozuy Academics (ST^^, RW) – Warti’s contributions to the Academics have been sporadic the past two years but his devotion and loyalty to Tarrentum have been well documented. He has won the coveted Most Patriotic and Loyal Footballer award the four out of the past five years. Age: 39, Goals: 5, Assists: 5
Henry Qund; Stroudsville, Tarburr, Krozuy Academics (RW^^, LW) – Qund is originally Tarburr by birth but was raised since the of age three in Tarrentum. He was granted official citizenship and birthright by the Supreme President on his 21st birthday in recognition to his already substantial contributions to the TPL. By that time Qund had already shown his great worth to the Academics by leading them in goals for the past three years. Qund has tremendous speed and chip shot accuracy. Age: 30, Goals: 28, Assists: 7
Sandroni Sadroni; Apolln, FC Yuppers (LW^^, ST, RW) CAPTAIN – Sadroni has been a tour de force in the TPL since his emergence onto the national scene 13 years ago. Not a great finesse player but his ability to eye the opposing defensive set piece and find the open assist has led to his two MVP awards during the middle of his career. He’s lost a step since his debut over a decade ago but his grueling, physical play is something to watch. Age: 35, Goals: 4, Assists: 12
Garto Nicolli; Trumboi, Galitz FCA (RW, LW^^) – Nicolli has seen extensive time on the national level and has garnered a lot of experience playing in international friendlies. Nicolli’s contributions to Galitz have been minimized but have been impressive. In the 25 games he has appeared in during TPFL matches, Galitz has recorded at least a goal or an assist in each one. He is a specialist with the corner kick. Age: 32, Goals: 19, Assists: 11
Victor Flavius Kulli; West Hughton, Napoliroma Legion (LW, LM) – Kulli, nicknamed “Praetor” for his experience and leadership, was the first player acquired by Burindi in the Transfer Market once the Legion began TPFL play. His career before that was mostly spent with the Krozuy Academics. Praetor has been a great asset to the Legion as he is the main contributor to Jusef Zastromanami’s goals during TPFL play. It will be interesting to see how he contributes to the World Cup squad without Zastro demanding the ball every time an attack commences. Kulli recently announced upon his admission to the National Squad that this will be his last World Cup Age: 39, Goals: 3, Assists: 14

Midfielders
Sforza Italiana; Napoliroma, Tre Da La (CM^^, CMD) – The adored Sforza Italiana, youngest brother of Supreme President Cesare Italiana, he has proved many analysts wrong by become a really good player in the TPFL. Sforza has great speed but loses sight of open passes and opportunities easily. His lack of ball discipline also leads to a lot of yellow cards. Age: 21, Goals: 5, Assists: 8
Stefano Nastromani; Pullo, FC Yuppers (LM^^, ST, LW) – Nastromani is widely seen and respected as one of the best young footballers throughout all of Tarrentum. His intelligence, quick feet and shot selection have made him a very dangerous weapon. He was the youngest ever player on a TPFL club when he signed at the age of 18 after his collegiate career. He has gradually reason to become a main fixture of the FC Yuppers club. Age: 19, Goals: 8, Assists: 6
Judasi Kypa; Upper Didi, FC Yuppers (RM^^, LM) – Kypa is the perfect finesse player. He rarely draws a card and has won the unofficial Lady Kristiana Trophy the past three years for his humanitarian contributions. Kypa is the consummate team player. Age: 29, Goals: 6, Assists: 8
Fredo Tulu; Bolonza, Napoliroma Legion (CM^^, CB) – Tulu’s contributions to the Legion have centered around the expert command of the midfield and direction of the set pieces. His inclusion on the national team is the subject of speculation and controversy as he has been linked to an affair with Delphine Italiana for the past two years. This has lost Tulu favor in the eyes of the Supreme President. Age: 36, Goals: 1
Rutgar Vincinz; Doria, Walli Walli FC (RM^^, LW) – Vincinz has been the leading man at Walli Walli recently being given a new contract by the club. He brings a menacing presence to field drawing a large amount of yellow cards. Age: 30, Goals: 6, Red Cards: 2
Borgia Callami; Apolln, Krozuy Academics (LM^^, RM) – Callami shows flashes of brilliance at times but is mostly seen as a solid footballer by most of the TPFL reporters. Age: 33, Goals: 3, Assists: 3

Defenders
Treppen Uppenilli; Kuli Caffron, Galitz FC (RB^^, LB) – Uppenilli is a strong, intelligent defender that has helped Galitz to a respectable record this past year. He is great at drawing offside calls. He has also been voted the Sexiest Footballer in Tarrentum for three straight years. Age: 27, Goals: 5
Claudius Bacanelli; Krozuy, FC Yuppers (RCB^^, LCB, RB) – Bacanelli has provided the Yupping Yuppers a key defensive footballer who has helped the Yuppers move up in TPFL tables. He is noted as one of the quickest defenders in the TPFL. Age: 28
Justinian Tremani; Gallen, Krozuy Academics (LCB^^, LB) – Tremani has been voted the top Defensive Player in the TPFL three out of the past four years. Tremani has learned to compensate for his lack of speed with his excellent down-pitch vision. Age: 33
Olli Vaspa; Vardin Mountain, Napoliroma Legion (LB^^, RB) – Vaspa has seen extensive time in the Legion backfield due to his aggressiveness and quickness. Age: 26
Nico Lardorama; Trulin, Walli Walli FC (RCB^^, LCB) – Lardorama is known throughout the TPFL for his intense and aggressive play. He has drawn a fair amount of yellow cards of the past season. Age: 31
Gregor Fluti; Vardin Mountain, Krozuy Academics (LB^^, RB) – Fluti has seen his stock rise along with Tremani on the Academics. Their play together is widely seen as a main reason for the Academics successes recently in the TPFL. Age: 30
Sarudi Julian; Napoliroma, Illian Grasshoppers (LCB^^, RCB, LB) – Julian is the star player for the lowly Grasshoppers but has spent the majority of his time away from the club either training for the national team or appearing in his hit sitcom “You Wish You Were That Cool” which is continually nominated for multiple Tarrentum Actors Association Awards. Age: 27
Walri Castanella; Yui, Galitz FC (RB^^, LB, CM) – Castanella has proven a boon to Galitz since his rookie season. His defensive awareness is in a league of its own and his ability to cut off the attack has been seen as the reason for Galitz’ recent success. Age: 23

Goalkeepers
Tremi Bodacello; Krozuy, Napoliroma Legion – Bodacello has give the Legion a strong anchor and reliable keeper throughout their championship run.s He is especially strong on corner and penalty kick set pieces. Bodacello’s player was seen by analysts as one reason for the Legion’s deep run into the TQCC this year. Age: 31
Raspu Tucadi; Trulin, Krozuy Academics – Tucadi was recently acquired by the Academics but helped them once again reach the Cup Championship match. Age: 30

Background

Noticeably absent, once again, from the World Cup 52 squad is Jusef Zastromanami. After his selfish play and antics during Tarrentum’s first international tournament in Tolietdonia, Zastro was dropped from the team by manager Gregori Burindi. The Tarrentum Premier Football League has still not broken the gender barrier and is one of only a couple of sports in Tarrentum to still be gender-specific. This may be because of the low status of football in the nation but many think that is the behind-the-scenes workings of Gregori Burindi, a major force in the TPFL.

Tarrentum is a nation made up of four former states. The Allied States of Tarrentum share a great history with the Tarrentum Valley Imperium, who ruled the area hundreds of years ago. Napoliroma is the national capity, the main metropolitan city in the nation and the site of all major sporting events.

Stadium
When Tarrentians are lucky to see a match in their nation it will be played at The Eternal Supreme President Borgia Italiana Sportplex in Napoliroma, Tarrentum (state).
Image
The Sportplex was built with pleasure in mind and holds Babbage Rules Football, NTCC Gridiron and Assoc. Football games, “wife-tossing” events and TPFL games. The seating is for well over 100,000 people but is only filled (and completely open) during the TPFL Cup Finals and NTCC bowl games.

The Allamunnic States' National Soccer Team
Nickname: Blue Thunder
Style Modifier: Most Offensive (+3 or +5, whichever it is)
Coach: Andrew Forsk (Aged: 42)
Base Formation: 3-4-3 (3 Strikers, 4 Midfielders, 3 Backfielders)

RP Permission: Please, TG before doing anything but scorers or game-ending injuries. Injuries outside of game-ending for a player are determined by myself. If you're going to godmod events, make sure it doesn't violate any of the above rules. TG me just to be safe with those. Don't do any penalizing worse than yellow cards without permission, please.

Also, if you godmod an event of any kind, by all means, have fun with it. ;D

OOC Please Note: The official name of the nation is the Allamunnic States. The demonym is Allamunnic. The term "Fanboyist" is considered IC'ly to be rather offensive, and I will treat it as such in RP. OOC'ly, I don't really care if you use it, but be aware of what the IC reaction will be. I will try not to come across as jumping down anybody's throat. Any percieved IC rudeness is not meant as OOC'ly, as well.

Team Overview: The Blue Thunder is the first Allamunnic soccer team (and yes, it's called soccer in the Federal Republic. "American Football" is called gridiron, so stop your whining! ;P ) to compete internationally since World Cup 48 (or 50? We don't remember). As such, they've got some serious expectations on them, high on the list being to not flame out immediately.

The team has not been met with much success in the past, which is partly why this is a new squad being sent to the World Cup. This squad has managed moderate success in the 13th Oxen Cup, but is otherwise rather raw.

Most of the Federation's soccer players play in the not-widely followed domestic league, as few, if any, play in other nation's domestic leagues. The plain and simple reason is that the Allamunnic league isn't very competetive, so any talent that's there tends to be overshadowed by the fact that nobody really gives a crap, seeing as the nation has gridiron in the fall and winter, ice hockey in the late fall, winter, and early spring, and lacrosse in the spring and summer.

As with every Allamunnic team, they play physically. Expect injuries to happen to other people when they're around. Also, relatively speaking, there's plenty of depth on the team; the reserves aren't much worse than the starters, and the starters aren't much better than the reserves, depending on which view you use. So there will be plenty of rotating. In fact, probably more rotating than average on other teams will occur.

The main style of the team is ball-control; they tend to try to use their superior physicality to

Players:

Goalkeepers
#3 - Franz Grimme - (26; 6'0"; 202lbs, Skarrsboro United) - Franz is one of the main players behind Skarrsboro United's return to prominence in the domestic league; he's an excellent goalie, recording fourteen shutouts last year (out of twenty-two games).

#8 - Fradrik Hulms - (24; 5'10"; 201lbs, Onneria State SC) - Fradrik isn't much worse, and he'll serve as a reliable backup should anything happen to Grimme.

Backfielders

#4 - Jake Kristholm - (26; 6'1"; 211lbs, Zagreb SC, STARTER, RIGHT BACKFIELDER) - Kristholm is a faster defender, and he's good at forcing turnovers and getting the ball upfield quickly to one of the midfielders that make the Blue's game tick. He's also good at keeping the ball, also in keeping with the team's ball-control approach.

#6 - Joe Tooley - (25; 6'1"; 207lbs, Filia SC, Left Backfield) - Tooley is one of the more physical defensemen. He plays rough, and so is the most likely backfielders to be penalized. What he lacks in precision, he makes up in power and raw speed.

#13 - Garret Smart - (24; 5'11"; 203lbs, Inneville Federal SC, STARTER, MIDDLE BACKFIELDER) - Smart is probably the best backfielder on the team in terms of overall talent and skill. Smart is fast, powerful, has good fine ball-control skills, and has a knack for making big plays, be it aiding the goalkeeper or making a big pass to set up a goal, or even, in some rare instances, making a goal as one of the attacking backfielders (a somewhat odd attack that the Iron has in their arsenal).

#17 - Nicole Hartley - (26; 5'7"; 178lbs, Dreichium City SC, STARTER, LEFT BACKFIELDER) - Nicole is faster than most of the other backfielders, and it shows. She also has more finesse control, if lacking some of their power and physicality. But that doesn't mean that opponents shouldn't be wary of her; like most Allamunnic players, she does play physically. Simply not as much as some of her teammates.

#28 - Lee Hartley - (25; 6'0"; 204lbs, Dreichium Federal SC, Right Backfield) - Lee is, as one might be able to tell, Nicole's younger brother. Lee is cast more or less from the same mold, and he plays more finely than a lot of other Allamunnic players.

#29 - Francisco Vasquez - (23; 6'3"; 211lbs, Real Oviedo EF, Middle Backfield) - And then you have the second-most-dangerous backfielder on the field, after Smart. Francisco comes form the biggest soccer-playing group in the Federation, the Hispano-Allamunnae. Even among that group, though, Vasquez has some serious talent, and, perhaps more to the point, a still-enormous amount of potential. If he's not a big hazard to attackers now, he soon will be. In the event of a formation change, Vasquez will probably assume the fourth backfielder's slot.

Centerfielders

#2 - Carlos Avila - (24; 6'0"; 208lbs, Real Oviedo EF, STARTER, LEFT OUTSIDE CENTERFIELD) - Avila hails from the same area as Vasquez, and, if anything, he's more skilled. Avila is one of the midfielders that allows the team's entire game to function properly, as they are all skilled at keeping posession of the ball, grinding down opponents and searching for weakpoints to attack. Carlos exemplifies this, and so he'll probably be the most effective of the midfielders.

#7 - Kyl Stromuk - (27; 6'2"; 218lbs, Skarrsboro United, STARTER, LEFT INSIDE CENTERFIELD) - Kyl Stromuk is another one of the players that has helped to put Skarrsboro back on the soccer map. Stromuk takes a critical centerfielding position in a system very similar to the national team's own style, and so, in addition to being very talented, physical and fast, Stromuk also has his familiarity with the team's system going in his favor, as well.

#11 - Lily Stokes - (22; 5'6"; 151lbs, Thomasburg West SC) - Lily is a generally fast, versatile, attacking and goal-shooting centerfielder, rather than one geared towards ball-control. Lily will provide some flexibility as she rotates.

#12 - Derrik Furcek - (25; 6'0"; 207lbs, Copenhagen SC, Right Inside Centerfield) - Derrik, by contrast, is nothing but power and raw ball-controlling ability. He provides a reliable rotating anchor for the centerfielders to operate around, usually playing further back and acting as a relatively safe passing target as the team moves the ball around to probe for weakpoints in the opposing defense.

#19 - Joanna Davies - (31; 5'8"; 172lbs, Northwatch State SC, STARTER, RIGHT OUTSIDE CENTERFIELD) - Joanna is another reliable player. She is a little more physical-playing than Lily, and fits more with the team's overall approach of ball-control and grinding attack and defense.

#22 - Joe Brakket - (21; 6'3"; 225lbs, Copenhagen SC, STARTER, RIGHT INSIDE CENTERFIELD) - And then you have, quite possibly, the largest player on the team. Joe is the main anchor for the centerfielders most of the time, occasionally rotating with Furcek. Brakket is usually the most rough-and-tumble player out on the field at any given time. He is excellent at ball-control, and can even managed some good, powerful shots, although they might be off-target, at times.

#25 - Ben Lindstrom - (27; 6'0"; 204lbs, Filia SC, Outside Centerfield) - Lindstrom is a solid rotating player who will cause problems for a lot of defenders and opposing centerfielders. He is fairly versatile, with a good blending of power, speed, ball-control and finesse, and shooting ability.

#31 - Izaak Brom - (24; 6'2"; 212lbs, Copenhagen SC, Inside Centerfield) - Izaak is another power-oriented player who will mostly serve as a general reserve when more physical play is called for, usually substituting for one of the less-powerful players in those phases; one familiar with hockey might identify him with an enforcer, of sorts.

Strikers

#1 - Erika Donner - (23; 5'3"; 147lbs, Northwatch State SC, Left Forward) - Erika is a good, speed-oriented attacker. She will likely do a goodly amount of playing. As a faster player, she will likely play on the outside, and will probably have a relatively high number of assists as opposed to goals. In the event of a formation change, Erika will likely fill the slot of a fourth striker on the outside.

#5 - Kyle Dunn - (24; 6'0"; 210lbs, Thomasburg West SC, STARTER, RIGHT FORWARD) - Dunn is one of the few true superstars in soccer in the Federation; his goal-count is quite high, and he is the centerpiece to Thomasburg West's offense, as well as being a powerful and reliable anchor for their attackers. Dunn will be pretty prolific in terms of goal-scoring.

#9 - Tyrr Dunnmaar - (23; 6'0"; 215lbs, Skarrsboro United, STARTER, MIDDLE FORWARD) - Dunnmaar, on the other hand, is almost the same story. Only he's better than Dunn. Tyrr has set an overall record for most regular season goals in the Allamunnic Commonwealth Soccer League, scoring 54 goals in 22 games played. He also helped lead Skarrsboro United to two national championships in three years, with three consecutive finals appearances.

#14 - Mike Tesla - (23; 6'1"; 209lbs, Thomasburg North SC, STARTER, LEFT FORWARD) - Tesla is one of the less-starry players among the strikers, but that's okay; he's a reliable, strong, versatile player that has proven in practices to be the perfect complement to Dunn and Dunnmaar.

#17 - Vaasco de Parma - (24; 6'2"; 206lbs, Real Oviedo EF, Left Forward) - Vaasco is the third representative of Oviedo's soccer team present. Vaasco is a power-oriented player (like many here), and is also possessed of good passing abilities. His abilities at setting up plays is also extremely valuable.

#23 - John Horst - (25; 6'0"; 203lbs, Copenhagen SC, Middle Forward) - John is basically just like the other players, and, like many national team players, is power-oriented, and plays domestically for Copenhagen. Horst is a reliable, flexible rotating player, but isn't particularly noteworthy, otherwise.

#27 - Mark Stokes - (26; 5'11"; 202lbs, Zagreb SC, Right Forward) - And then there's Mark Stokes, the most speed-oriented male striker on the roster. He'll rotate, largely, to give different looks against different defenses, but will probably mostly serve to set up plays and foil attacks by opponents before they have a chance to get anywhere.

Kazzoria has had a short history as a nation. For many years it was a Teroian state but this year we (And the rest of the states) won their independence and Teroi has ceased to exists. Our last world cup started poorly with the Baptism of Fire where we failed to get out of the group stage and we came bottom of our qualifying group. Another thing was that we had no official roster for that world cup but we are told no one turned up. This time we plan to show those Teroians what we are made of by flying to victory! Qualification we won't be ruling out but we know it to be mildly unlikely.

The Babbage Islands World Cup 52 Roster

Nicknames: Bumblebees, Islanders
Colours: Yellow and black

Manager: Ganz Ijak (Cafundéu)
Style: +2.5
Formation: 4-6-0

Starting lineup

No: Player Age Pos Cap/Gol Club
1: Solveig Þorsteinsdóttir 34 GK 63/0 South Side AC
2: Tomas Martinez 22 RB 0/0 Real Santa Catalina
3: Jerry Kirkpatrick (vc) 26 CB 36/0 Dunboor FC (Cafundéu)
4: Ronald Dennis 20 CB 0/0 OGC Nancy
5: Matt Chauvin 27 LB 53/1 Tyrrin Royale (Tyrrin)

8: Tegan Nash (c) 31 AM 89/30 Petardos S/A (Cafundéu)

11: Veronika Hennicke 20 LM 24/7 Greenville Rovers
12: Glen Brown 27 CM 28/7 Fußballverein der Harmonie (Paripana)

The Bumblebees are well known for their 4-6-0 strikerless formation.

Solveig is the most capped keeper in Babbage football history, and she will be between the posts in all the big matches. Expect Hanna and Little to alternate in starting the majority of qualifying matches with a view toward the future.

Kirkpatrick, the vice-captain, is emerging as one of the world's top defenders after winning the Gold Ball in Cafundéu and going to the Champions' Cup final with Dunboor FC. His main partner in the centre will be Dennis, with Chauvin and Martinez at full back. Of the reserves, only Marshall is capped. But Barton, Hernandez, and Mitchell are not to be discounted.

Ducharme and Brown are back from WC51 as the central midfield duo, able to go forward for a six-player attack or drop back for a six-player defence. Their experienced backups are Hendricks and Voyer.

The quartet in forward midfield has changed with the sidelining of longtime winger Patty Heatherly. Orson Cook continues on the right wing, every cap and goal extending his records, with Hennicke moving in as his new partner. Orson's brother Jayden Cook and Rogers are the most likely backup wingers. Alder plays the mobile nine-and-a-half role up front with converted striker Olson as backup. And longtime captain Nash, now the second-oldest player on a young squad, is still an institution in the playmaker's spot entering her fifth Cup. Jervis can play in any of the front four slots if needed.

Nash is the penalty-taker, and Cook the principal set pieces kicker.

Backups

The Tyrrinian National Football Team

After their best World Cup campaign ever, the Stallions are back for their seventh qualification run. They made it out of the group stage of the World Cup for the first time ever, which was manager Graig Montcalve’s goal at the start of the campaign. Due to this success, Montcalve will be allowed to stay on for one more time around, after which he is expected to retire. This will also most likely be the final World Cup for superstar Michael Willem, who will probably be inducted into the World Cup Hall of Fame after this World Cup. The Stallions will not accept anything less than their third qualification in World Cup 52. NOTE TO ALL NATIONS WITH DOMESTIC LEAGUES: Any player that is not currently playing abroad is available for transfer. Also note that my players age 1 year/1 UICA cycle.

When your squad visits Tyrrin, there are a few things you should know about our culture and society. Most importantly, around half of the population has served or is serving in the military. Your team will be staying and playing in the capital city and namesake of the nation, Tyrrin. About a fifth of our population lives and works in the Tyrrin metropolitan area, including the outlying Horsetown and Minetown areas. The city has very good public transportation and dozens of museums. If your players are looking for a good time, they should head south to Coranto, home of actors and rock stars.

Home Stadium: Remembrance Park, Tyrrin (city)
Capacity: 90,000
Remembrance Park is the home stadium of Tyrrin's top domestic team, Tyrrin Royale. It is located just north of downtown Tyrrin.

Kits (made by Hati Sportswear in Jesselton):
Image

Starters are in bold and have their positions next to their names.

Goalkeepers

Michael Mu GK
Club: Foroch Raiders
Age: 34
After playing backup for Ainsley Emir for two World Cups, Mu is ready to start for the Stallions. He has been consistently one of the best keepers in the Commander’s League, and will bring his excellent technical ability and experience to the lineup for the Stallions. His only knock is that Foroch didn’t do very well last season, but most people attribute that to a lackluster offense rather than any defensive mistakes.

Juan Malik
Club: Icklyrri Icebirds
Age: 22
The young Malik is coming off a brilliant season with the Icebirds in which they won the Commander’s League. They let in fewer goals than any other team, and Malik was a huge part of this achievement. He was the protégé of Angus Aulay for many years, and is heralded as the best young keeper in Tyrrin. Some even say that he is more talented than Mu, and the only reason that he isn’t starting is due to his lack of experience playing on the national level. Regardless, the Stallions certainly have an excellent backup in case Mu doesn’t play up to usual standards.

Defenders

Kegan Diniz CB
Club: Porto Lacruz (Cafundeu)
Age: 28
Diniz has found success playing in Cafundeu, and helped Porto Lacruz to a Globe Cup spot in the best domestic league in the world. He was also named to the third Team of the Season. He will hopefully be able to bring this experience to the World Cup as he organizes the Stallion defense, especially against teams that are known for large amounts of possession.

Melvyn Shahar CB
Club: Burningham City (Osarius)
Age: 28
Shahar has earned a record as the least favorite player of Tyrrinian fans, which was not helped by several defensive slips in the last World Cup. Despite this, he is actually a very talented defender, and will hopefully be recognized as such in the near future. Where Diniz is the leader of the backfield, Shahar is the main physical presence, moving strikers out of position and heading crosses clear of the goal.

Tomi Diya RB
Club: Callisto City (Osarius)
Age: 27
The nimble Diya proved to be an excellent creative force on defense for Tyrrin in World Cup 51, despite a few mistakes when he got too far forward. Since then, he has gained a lot of experience playing domestically in Osarius, and he is ready for another World Cup. He will be expected to shut down crosses and eliminate any development on the wings for the other team while also supporting the midfield up the right side.

Arne Duke LB
Club: Oclia Mariners
Age: 29
After two World Cups on the bench, Duke will take over for Scott Pierrick, who finally retired from international play. Duke is a very physical defender, perhaps too much so. He lead the team in bookings last World Cup, and that was when he was on the bench. Duke said he hopes to visit a few tropical nations during qualification so he can get some bird watching in, which is an unusual hobby of his.

Levi Abdul-Hamid
Club: Kowa Foresters
Age: 34
He may not have had an excellent season with Foresters last year, but Abdul-Hamid got more playing time than Duke off the bench last World Cup, and only his age keeps him from taking the starting job instead of Duke. Always humble, he said that he was “still happy to be playing football for my nation. If Coach Montcalve needs me, I will always be ready.” He will definitely get some time in during World Cup 52, especially against lesser teams.

Hubert Cipriano
Club: Battle FC (Zarbli)
Age: 31
After many years defending for Oclia Mariners, and with one Commander’s League championship, Cipriano is now playing abroad for Battle FC in Zarbli. His talents seem to be getting even more recognition of late, as he was also named to the national team. Cipriano is a similar player to what Scott Pierrick was, and is a solid defender who can also support the attack. He will probably come on for Diya if he is getting out of position too much or for Duke if he is playing too aggressively.

Donato Shlomo
Club: Coranto FC
Age: 29
For the first time, the Stallions will have three defenders on their bench, with the underrated Shlomo joining the team. He is a very talented central defender for Coranto FC, but has never really been recognized for his ability. This is probably due to the lack of talent on the rest of the team, with Zia Thorvald as one of the few other standout players. In this World Cup, we might see if this is the case, or we might realize that Shlomo isn’t really as good as we think he is.

Midfielders

Deandre Rodrigo LM
Club: Mertag FC
Age: 27
During Rodrigo’s time at Mertag FC, the club has earned a reputation as one of the most stable clubs in the league, earning a Globe Cup spot in the last four seasons, and finishing second in the Commander’s League twice. Only Tyrrin Royale can claim to have had more success. This is largely due to the leadership of Rodrigo. He is known for his excellent direction of the midfield, and while he will not play that role for the national team, he will still be a threat going up the left side.

Marcius Booker CM
Club: Oclia Mariners
Age: 27
Booker is the man who will control the tempo for the Stallions. He is primarily a distributor, but he will lead the team in attack and defense. He is very good at winning back the ball in the midfield, and he also has an accurate shot from range. He is currently in the prime of his career, so he could potentially have a very successful World Cup. The Stallions hope that this happens, because if he plays poorly, the entire team will not do well.

Lorenz Raimondo RM
Club: Foroch Raiders
Age: 32
Raimondo made his triumphant return to Raiders two seasons ago, helping them to a Commander’s Cup victory. He now returns to the national team for perhaps his final time. His footwork is still as good as ever, but his acceleration isn’t quite what it used to be. However, he should more than make up for this weakness with the vast amount of experience that he has in international play.

Rio Fortunado CAM
Club: Greeningham City (Osarius)
Age: 29
Fortunado has developed into a game-changing player who can create opportunities from nothing. He demonstrates this ability particularly well against weaker teams, who have trouble marking him as he roams just behind the two strikers. With his deft footwork and blazing speed, he will be responsible for setting up Willem and company, as well as taking a few shots himself. He had an excellent season in Osarius last year, winning the Foreign Player of the Year award, and coming second in Golden Phoenix voting for the player of the year.

Emmerich Gerd
Club: Icklyrri Icebirds
Age: 32
Gerd will start matches against superior teams in place of Raimondo due to his defensive prowess. When he starts, the midfield shifts to two defensive midfielders in Booker and Gerd, and two attacking wings with Rodrigo and Fortunado. Gerd is an excellent defensive midfielder, and he captained the Icebirds to their first Commander’s League victory in a long time. His brother George recently died in the May Day War, so Gerd will be playing with a purpose in this World Cup.

Arcady Vincenzo
Club: Racaw Sultan
Age: 31
Brought up in the Racaw Sultan system, Vincenzo is always looking to move the ball forward and attack. He is quite incapable as a defender, and will only be brought on when the Stallions need to score goals quickly. He specializes in long crosses and deep runs down the wing. With Racaw Sultan, he forms one of the most dangerous wing pairs in the league when he plays across from Giuseppe Joliano.

Keith Richardson
Club: Oclia Mariners
Age: 22
The young Richardson is one of the most promising talents in Tyrrin, and he has benefitted greatly from playing with stars like Calvin Harris and Marcius Booker. He is excellent running up the wing, especially in combination with Booker. He is also a hard-nosed defender who will try to stop opposing runs down the wing before they can start. He is also well known for his prodigious guitar talent.

Strikers

Michael Willem RS (Captain)
Club: Ousevale Borough (Krytenia)
Age: 34
Michael Willem helped Ousevale Borough to a Liga Calania championship last season, in which the club scored an astounding 193 goals in 58 games. Willem’s personal goal tally was not released, but it is safe to say that he is scoring at an incredible rate, even when amongst very tough competition. He will bring his incredible talent to the national team for what may be his final World Cup. Of course, nothing has been finalized yet, and we will keep you updated with all the details on this story. With this Cup being the seventh that Tyrrin has participated in, the Stallions will probably give Willem the honor of being the first Tyrrinian in the World Cup Hall of Fame at the conclusion of World Cup 52.

Zia Thorvald LS
Club: Coranto FC
Age: 31
Thorvald continues to dominate offensively in the Commander’s League, and he had 29 goals last season, which was the second most in the league. With the aging of Brecht, Thorvald has earned a starting spot next to Willem. This will probably be his only chance to prove that he deserved this spot all along, so expect him to play his heart out as he tries to find the back of the net for the Stallions. His biggest asset is his clinical finishing ability, and his goals are usually the result of a lot of creative midfield play.

Chase Koit
Club: Metropolis Alligators (Valladares)
Age: 28
In the biggest departure since Fortunado left for Osarius, Koit also deserted Racaw Sultan for the powerful Valladar side Metropolis Alligators. He managed to grab the Golden Boot and the Best Foreign Player awards in his first season, and also helped Alligators to a TQCC spot. Needless to say, he is the next big thing in Tyrrinian striking, and he will see a lot of playing time coming off the bench for Willem late in games. He will probably start the next World Cup if he continues to play at this rate.

Bernard Brecht
Club: Iclyrri Icebirds
Age: 34
After one World Cup as a starter, Brecht is back on the bench. Even though he is still a talented player, he is getting a bit old. His speed just isn’t what it used to be. He will probably still be used against weaker opponents. He did manage to win a Commander’s League title last season, as well as score copious amounts of goals. Brecht will remain a fan favorite, despite his relegated status.

------ Thorvald ------Willem
-------------Fortunado
Rodrigo ----Booker ---Raimondo
Duke---Shahar----Diniz-----Diya
-----------------Emir

Coach- Alan Malloy- age 45- the grandson of former legendary Tynelian keeper Vladimar “the Wall” Malloy., Coach Malloy was one of the key movers in the restoration of the Tynelian Scoccer Federation as one of the leaders in the New Othydoxic Christian Church of Reborn Othydoxy once that group came into power. Devoted to the game and his religion, Alan takes a page out of his grandfather’s book claiming that a stout defense to deny the other team the blessings of the Lord of Scores is just as important as seeing a multitude of those blessings bestowed upon his faithful. Or as he put it “I’d rather see us win 1-0 than lose 6-5.”

Assistant coach- Laurie Masterson- age 38. Great Granddaugther of Tynelian WC soccer legend- appearing as a player in 7 of them and 4 time WC Coach Jay Masterson and grandson of former WC member Jay Masterson Jr. Laurie is supposed to have the best tactical mind of any coach Tynelia has had since Adam Billington. It is expected that she will be running the team herself sometime in the near future but is here to get some needed WC experience under her belt first.

Style -3, formation 4-3-3
Daniels---- Masterson--- Keith
Canyon--- Logan--- Davis
Grant---- Johnson---- Rosenthal----- Credle
Grey

G- Harold Grey (age 25, starter)- Harold has been voted Keeper of the Year for two straight seasons in the renewed Tynelian Soccer Federation and was the obvious choice to start in Tynelia’s Cup return. He has a lot of pressure on him given the deterioration of the one time WC semi-finalist’s soccer infrastructure but most agree that he is the best chance the team has.

G- Conroy Harris- (age 33- reserve)- arguably the best keeper in his day, has been replaced by Grey in the minds of many but Coach Malloy was adamant in giving this great player a chant to perform on the biggest stage of them all. If Grey was to falter under the pressure early it is certain that Harris would be brought in as the former four time keeper of the year has the fullest confidence of his coach.

D- Melodie Grant (age 22- starter) Melodie is an up and coming soccer player known for her quick feet and excellent reads on the ball with a knack of ending up in the right place at the right time. Her average height has been a problem during corner kicks and such but in the open there are few in Tynelia who can match her.

D- Morgan Johnson- (age 26, starter) Morgan has won defensive player of the year three of the last five seasons surprising many by winning it in his very first year. Some had claimed politics was behind it as Morgan is the son of the New Othydoxic Christian Church of Reborn Othydoxy High Priest Jacob Johnson. However he soon silenced the critics by finishing in the top 4 in the voting every season since then.

D- Kyle Rosenthal (age 30- starter), the lone jewish member of the team, Kyle has battled Johnson the past five years for the defensive player of the year title, winning it the two years Morgan did not and was the alleged victim in Morgan’s first win. However the two have actually become friends despite the so-called rivalry and if there is one it is most certainly a friendly one.

D- Justin Credle (age 24- starter) a solid workmanlike player, one of the better ballhandlers on the team. Soft spoken and seemingly camera shy he does his talking on the pitch.

D- Marcus Allistair (age 19- reserve) the tallest player on the team despite his youth this 6’9” giant towers over the rest of his teammates. Stamina is an issue with him but he is well suited for his role as a late game defensive replacement as he can dominate the line on corner kicks and direct kicks.

D- Jennifer Lowes (age 29- reserve) a veteran presence with three top 5 finishes in the defensive player of the year voting, Jennifer excels at any of the defensive locations but prefers the rough and tumble of the middle of the pitch given a choice.

M- Bradley Canyon (age 27-starter) a former marathoner, Bradley was a late arrival to the game of soccer despite playing some in high school and a year in college. Thanks to his running background he is the man most counted on to not run out of gas late in the game. As he once said. “Hey 90 minutes? I’d just be getting my second wind if I was running.” He has impressed with solid ballhandling skills since returning to the sport.

M- Lincoln Davis (age 26-starter) the ironically named Davis seems to take any teasing out on his opponents in the pitch. An aggressive player he is most likely to be seen up running with the strikers and is occasionally burned because of it. However Coach Malloy likes his enthusiasm for the game and his devotion to the Lord of Scores which has given him his spot.

M- Veronica Logan (age 24- starter) Logan is a playmaker and led the league in assists the past season earning her a spot on the team. The best passer on the team the pressure will be on her to make the most of the expected few chances the Tynelian offense will have this Cup.

M/D- Brad Wilks (age 27- reserve) Brad is a versatile player capable of holding his own as both a defender and a midfielder with his conservative style of play. As such Coach Malloy made sure to add him to the team in order to better protect a lead or maintain a draw late in the game.

M- Gregory Greenwood (age 25- reserve) Gregory (who dislikes being called Greg) is another defensive minded midfielder brought along to help protect a lead with Coach Malloy pulling one of the strikers in his place. Given the state of Tynelia’s rebuilding game at this point he is not expected to see a lot of action.

F- Jay Masterson IV (age 30, starter) younger brother of Laurie with the same pedigree, Jay is expected to follow in his great-grandfather’s steps and lead the team in scoring. A strong and usually accurate kicker his only weakness is sometimes trying to kick the ball too hard resulting in shots flying over the top of the crossbar.

F- Eric Daniels- (age 23-starter) a future star in the making, Eric made the top fve scorers in this his rookie year so Coach Malloy grabbed him in the hopes of a long and storied WC career for him. Voted “sexiest male athlete” in the latest Tynelian poll he has his own fangirl group “Danny’s girls” which follow him from game to game.

F- Travis Keith (age 27- starter) one of the best corner kickers in the league, Travis is considered more of a passer than a shooter however he will take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves forcing defenders to play honest with him.

F- Mia Watson (age 20-reserve) The “Mighty Mite” as she is called due to her size (barely topping 5’1”) which she takes advantage of on the pitch as she often gets lost in the shuffle among her taller teammates. Prefers the open field breakaway where she can take advantage of her excellent ball handling. Not the strongest shot on the team but is very accurate.

Venues- Danbridge Arena (seats 98,000- location Tynelian capital of Tyr, centrally located city)

Michael McPhee Memorial Stadium (seats 67,000- location- Tyr)

Heliodome (seats 75,000-location- Varrik southern coastal 2nd largest city. Vacation capital of Tynelia- best beaches in the country just outside the city)

Frozen Palace (seats 65,000- location- Damak- northernmost large city and 3rd largest city in Tynelia, known of its ski slopes and winter sports)
