This might be useful. Uses similar logic to most ranking systems I've seen around here. You just need to put in the results and set the multipliers on the Settings sheet for "weighting" if you want to change the importance of results from past editions.

It can technically count results from as many tournaments as you like in rank calculation, but you'll need to add more columns if you want more than five (just insert columns and copy the existing ones, the formulas should automatically update). I don't recommend counting more than 3-5 tournaments tbh.

Except for the NS Summer Olympiad, has there been any Decathlon/Heptathlon events or tournaments?

I wouldn't recommend running a standalone series. It's an athletics event; no one would run a standalone series of 100 metre races or anything. It's not been done as a standalone to my knowledge; it's a lot of work (probably the most time consuming athletics events).

Uh, well, funnily enough, I did just that as a newbie. But it was essentially RPless.

But Decathlons and Heptathlons have multiple events, correct? Couldn't someone spread the separate events out, one per day, for a decent RP spread?

What's a good program to simulate scoring/a game of American football, college in particular?

That's the beauty of NSSports. You can theoretically make any tournament you like, using any sport you can find a scorinator for. The hard part is getting people to join. :p

I can certainly vouch that the hard part is getting interest, neither me nor Xhay's drum corps competitions have garnered more than a dozen interested nations at a time.

Although, I'm sure racing would attract more people, since more people know how it works. Go for it.

Is there perhaps a version of this style of ranking spreadsheet that accepts single values instead of win records and games played inputs?
I'm trying to design a ranking system for a new organization but I need a ranking sheet that will create rankings based on scores (if it's necessary to know, they're numbers generally from 85-100).

If anyone could post or TG someone or something that could help I'd be much appreciative.

Just put the values in the wins column, and 1 in the games played column. Same thing.

I'm about to go back to Dubai for three months; it's a museum project rather than a field project, so I should have internet access throughout - however I'll try and ensure adequate NS Sports cover before I set out, just in case; this to avoid a repeat of the situation when I was in Oman a year ago and some NS Sports moderation issues arose that we didn't have full cover for.

Would anyone potentially be interested in taking over the NS Sports Trigrammes account so that we can maintain this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=295610

It's been an ongoing source of irritation that enthusiastic NS Sports participants offer to take it over, and then let it drop without making provision to hand the thread over to someone else.

I would be open to making it a shared account if 2-3 people come forward with an interest in sharing.

Well, it would really help if you created a scorinator to go along with it. If the sport is interesting enoug, people may join it. So, if you plan to try a sport that isn't in xkoranate, you'll probably ned to either ask someone to create it or create it yourself.
