Sorry to those involved here...

I don't if I clarified, but I DID use a second nation, not knowing what a puppet was and that it was a violation of IBC rules. I will return for IBC 20 with a full reading of the rules finished. I accept full responsibility and ridicule for my rant, and apologize to everyone involved in this argument. I will admit I enjoyed every moment of this, and hope I can come back. And, out of curiosity, if I declare Derpsadaslkkf as a puppet, can I use him next time? Just wanna clear that up for the next one.

See you guys in IBC 20.

It would just so happen to be so... This conversation still seems to be across every thread imaginable, though. ( >_>)

Thankfully, it hasn't hit the IBS X discussion thread. Whewww.

Lemme ask again. Do you still get RP bonus for posting on bye day? Thanks

Would a version of Takeshi's Castle with a NationStates twist fit here?

Takeshi's Castle was a japanese gameshow which is similar to wipeout.

Only way to be certain is to ask whoever is hosting the event you're referring to, but in the overwhelming majority of cases, yes you do. Would potentially be unfair if you didn't.

As a general rule, you get RP bonus for any RP you post. Unless the host specifies that only the first RP per matchday counts or some other such rule, which is rare... or you got your bonus reset for some reason.

Keep in mind, however, that the max bonus per matchday is per matchday, not per RP. So if the max bonus per matchday is 3 points and you post two RPs, you can still only earn 3 points for that day. Generally, though not always, they'll be treated as if they were part of one larger RP.

Hmmm. I'm not sure if that would go here or in the NationStates forum, but it would definitely be interesting somewhere. Generally speaking, for borderline things like band corps or board games, if there's a scorinator, it goes here, and if it's more freeform, it goes in NS. Although Arch would be quick to point out a scorinator is a generally accepted convention, not an absolute requirement, in NS Sports, when something's already on the border between "sport" and "non-sport" the use, or lack, of one, is often what decides what forum it belongs in. That's why the WorldVision Song Competition is in NationStates but the Band Corps competition is here.

I use a scorinator to judge beverage entries in the Alpen View Brew Festival, which is run in NationStates. Just throwing that out there to further confuse the issue. :p

Hello all, I'm quite new to the NS forum roleplaying scene, I'm only in one ongoing international incident and have no other experience in NS roleplay, but I have plenty of experience with roleplay in other forums and would like to sign up my national team for the world rankings and try and apply for a future World Cup. How would I do these things? I'd like to get into football (soccer) roleplay here, so I've already made a 23 player team sheet to prepare.

Thanks in advance!

Quite simple really. Wait until the next WC sign ups to be posted, and then simply state your intention to join.

Okie thanks alot. Do you have any semblance of an idea as to when that would be? Also do people do international friendlies? Would I just look for a post or do I have to personally contact someone?

Next WC should be in a few months - we just wrapped up WC73.

Also, there is a friendly thread around here somewhere.

Another question, how do I apply/get a place in the world ranking? Does that happen after a World Cup or is there some sort of official I need to speak to. I would like to speak to an official lol.

Thanks in advance!

In order to get a place in the world rankings for a sport, you'll need to participate in an approved tournament for that sport. Your performances in that tournament will then determine your ranking points, which determines where you fit in the rankings.

In terms of football/soccer, if you want to get on those world rankings you'll need to participate in the World Cup, The Cup of Harmony (Invite-only tournament) or the Baptism of Fire ( a tournament for new nations). I highly recommend you sign up for the Baptism of Fire (Just indicate that when you sign up for the World Cup and you'll be entered), as it gives new nations the chance to earn ranking points before going in to the world cup.

The thread for friendlies is here. Just ask for friendlies in there and you should receive some replies.

Actually, I grade them independently, and then I record the one that got the better grade as their RP bonus.

For getting results, get a program called xkoranate. Someone needs to confirm where to best get it, because all I'm getting is 4 year old links =)

For posting results, create a domestic newswires thread here, and how you want to handle that is all up to you. If you want to look at examples, you can check mine out in my sig or look at one of the others floating around on the first couple pages of NS Sports.
