Please no. Can we at least give it one more shot before we close the curtain?

I haven't decided yet. Though the next one would be IBS X, which is a nice round number to close it off on. I'm leaning yes at the moment, because it would be an interesting RP angle playing in the last IBS and that could improve interest. Plus if we see a reversal and an increase in interest, I might continue it beyond that, which could further encourage people to RP and "save" the tournament. So sure. Signups will likely open in a few days with the goal of starting sometime during the World Cup proper/CoH, and we'll see how things go from there. Any further discussion should be on the IBS Discussion thread, not here.

God. I really wish lacrosse was a bigger sport. I mean, it's pretty weird that the fastest moving sport on foot isn't that popular compared to something like horse racing.

IRL, it probably has something to do with the betting aspect. But now we're getting into more NSG material. Keep it on topic, people.

I'll probably bump up the WLC thread, go for a bit of interest for a few friendlies.

I can't help you, as I'm not much of a scorinator guru. However, you might want to also ask your question HERE, in the thread specific to scorinator questions. You might get a quicker answer.

Is there a way to make NSFS produce less upsets? I know stuff like that happens sometimes but there's way too many upset wins by teams who aren't ranked very highly and it always screws with the standings in my leagues.

Well, you could edit the source code, but I'm not skilled enough to teach you to do that. Or, you could use SQIS, but sometime's that's more upset-prone, depeding on the ranks in question. NSFS will produce fewer upsets between low-ranked teams and high-ranked teams, but more between low-ranked teams and medium-ranked teams. We think. We're not actually sure. And really, nobody knows which one's better under which circumstances because we've got conflicting results and people complain about small sample sizes. So really, if you think SQIS is better, use that. But keep in mind some people don't.

Except that if the max rank is already set to the best team's rank, which it should be, this will break xkoronate.

You can set the max rank below the best team's rank in NSFS (not in xkoranate as far as I'm aware, but Armeia can just switch programs).

Actually, apparently you can in xkoronate provided you first set it to the highest team's rank, then set the ranks, and then lower it, but this can produce high-scoring blowouts, often ridiculously so. But if you're trying to simulate an Australia 31-0 American Samoa type thing, that's how you'd do it.

That's only if you go overboard with it. I use a max ranking lower than my best team's ranking regularly to scorinate my league. It produces a few ridiculous blow-outs (nine-goal difference was the most I got last season), but that's more down to almost all my teams being +5 than anything else.

I did that for the Santaclausisgodistani League, and got a 25-0 blowout. But apparently it doesn't do that with SQIS, only NSFS. And of course, all the Santa teams are +5 because Santa Clice don't know how to play defense.

Eh, it evened out in the end but the Terrum Reds and Dinamo Barrier produced too many upsets, and I was only able to get a reasonable top 4 for the end of the season by raising the ranks for the better teams before scoring the rest of the match days. Atlas and Real Barrier took a lot more losses than they should have also.

Both formulas produce more upsets that what happens in real life, normally, and thus I am not sure you will ever truly be satisfied. What I suggest that if you truly are not to a point where it is at least to your liking, then merely resim, I know I do on the occasion if the produced results are not something that should have occurred (ie. one of the best 3 teams being relegated). There's nothing wrong with it as it is your own league and your own story to tell, so resim if you truly have issue with the results.

Yeah, I haven't done that before but I might start. I've had storylines get messed up by shock results(*cough* Hawks 3-3 Blazers *cough*), including one I pretty much had to Ex Machina recently in order to get ready for the latest season.

Well, erm... I've been looking over the sports section here for a while now. And I've been trying to think of a way to get involved, but I really have no practice with RPing much, and am probably not good at it... But I do want to get more involved, and do want to get better. So... Hrm, what place would be a good place to start for someone who's a really bad beginner?

Well, the one's I've seen active here the most...
Football (Or soccer), Football (American), Racing, Tennis... Though all the ones I've seen are already going and everyone really seems to know what they are doing and I don't want to mess something up... Which I will.

Though what classifies as sports here, I've seen so many things that don't seem as active and a few I like but probably don't classify as sports here and probably don't exist here either... Plus with those sports listed above, I'm in a unique situation were my players wouldn't be suited for that kind of game play, maybe Tennis or Racing (Vehicular though.) And I've seen so much out there and I like to go slow until I get it, so I'm just starting here.

Not suited? We've had teams made up entirely of giant jumping beans. Hell, the goalkeeper for the all-star team is an egg. We've seen teams of animals before.
When it comes to Roleplaying, just write what interests you. It does not have to be anything special.
By the way, unless you host (strongly not reccomended for newbies), its almot impossible to mess anything up. As long as you follow the posted score and respect RP permissions, you cannot go wrong.

Ah, well thanks for clearing that up for me. And there's no way I would just jump into hosting, just playing seems like a big enough feat for me to take on. Guess I'll stick to nice and slow then for now, continue reading through all the stuff here.

Well, the one's I've seen active here the most...
Football (Or soccer), Football (American), Racing, Tennis... Though all the ones I've seen are already going and everyone really seems to know what they are doing and I don't want to mess something up... Which I will.

If you're looking for multi-class GT racing or rallies, I've re-opened my domestic championships.
