Promote your event to an extent that everyone will be aware of your tournament, Try to give audience facilities as much as you can.

Please don't. Following that advice is guaranteed to lead to spam. Generally, you don't need to advertise sports RP because all of the regulars around here know it exists if it is posted in the NS Sports forum. The only time that you need to send TGs asking for signups is when an event is an invite-only event. Spamming links to an RP thread everywhere is, to put it mildly, a very bad idea. If an event doesn't get signups at all, most likely that is due to lack of interest and should be taken as a sign that it shouldn't be held. Joining and being active in other tournaments is the best way to attract signups to your tournaments and also the best way to win votes for your host bids for established tournaments.

I wouldn't recommend answering questions where you don't know the answers. However, I would recommend reading the Guide to Sports RP (stickied in this sub-forum) and participating in sports tournaments. Once you're around here long enough, you'll know the answers to most commonly-asked questions.

As much or as little as you want. It also depends on how you're applying the bonus and if there are any ranking points involved.

Estenia wrote:How much do I give to a nation for an RP bonus?

That depends on a lot of things, but mostly how you want to divide up the bonus for each RP. In the end it's up to you if your doing the scorination.

In the past I've set a daily standard, say 3 or 4 points possible per day (a daily max) and then divided the points up into a scale from 3 or 4 down to zero (sort of a sliding scale). Then rank each RP on how you liked it an how well it was done (taking what ever factors you want into your grading system). The top ranked RP gets the top of the scale bonus and the bottom ranked gets the lowest and no RP no bonus at all.

You could use the same max daily points of say 3 and give the top three or four RPs a 3 the next set of RPs a 2 and so on down to no RP no bonus, too.

Those are just a couple ideas and we could all probably list a dozen ways to do it, but like I first said it's ultimately up to you on how you want to do it. There really is no right or wrong way (from what I've gathered) so long as your consistent and as fair as you can be.

And make sure to add in any ranking points if used (what Darmen said)

That's easy, mate. There is a gray box below the OP-box. Just a bit above that gray box, there are two green little boxes that says options and poll creation respectively. Just click on poll creation and that's all. And I don't want to be killjoy, but this is not the right place to ask these kind of things...

You have to be new to the World Bowl and it has to have at least 16 new users (i.e. not including puppets.) When Estenia made its debut, there were not 16 new users so the BoI was not held. As a result, you are out of luck. Sorry.

What do you think of NS World Games which inludes most popular non-olympic sports? Could it become a success? Let's say it would happen in about 2 months after the Olympic Games.

It's generally considered bad form around here to suggest an event you are not willing/capable of hosting yourself, as you are basically suggesting that other people do all the hard work for you.

It's been done before that an idea was suggested by a person and then he/she opened host bids for it and didn't bid for it, which is a situation that could happen here and could work.

The problem with doing that for a World Games is that it would be difficult to find a host willing to bid for it, since it is more comparable to an Olympics in terms of scale.

It may be a better idea to just split it up and run a series of tournaments in different sports, with a point system of some sort to tie all the tournaments together. Maybe the series could last for a year, with 1 tournament running at a time and the next tournament starting immediately after the previous one ended (and each sport limited to once per year), with open host bidding for all the tournaments, short tournaments (2 weeks or less?) and nations receiving points based on their performance in events they enter with the nation with the most points, at the end of the year, being deemed the year's champion. If there was always 1 tournament from the series running at a time, 1 in signups and another in the bidding process, it'd be possible to hold tournaments for 30 or more sports per year, assuming sufficient interest from hosts. At a fundamental level, this wouldn't be much different from an Olympics or World Games, since it is a bunch of tournaments in different sports arbitrarily connected to one another, but from an OOC standpoint, it is much more practical than trying to bring back the World Games. It would be dependent upon maintaining activity levels and upon the ability to find hosts interested in running tournaments in sports that don't have regular tournaments rather than being dependent upon finding an experienced host who can handle something on the scale of the World Games (especially when it is hard enough to find an Olympics host, as it is). The question, in terms of activity levels, is whether there would be a sufficiently large group interested in seriously competing for the championship to guarantee that a Kronum World Cup III-like situation would not happen.

That's a very interesting point, a series of tournaments, I could even host one or two of them, as it's always way easier to scorinate one tournament, not a whole bunch at the same time.

With Kronum WC III the real problem was bad timing, there was soccer WC's beginning, so folks didn't have enough time (and will) to RP in kronum. I plan to organise 4th edition after the Olympics. If it fails for the second time in a row, that will mean it's pointless at all and I'll start to make some little Esportivan tournaments or friendly games.
