Is there any interest for a skeleton/bobsleigh/luge world competition? There doesn't seem like one on the forums and I'd like to get one started.

Not unlike an athletics event, it'd be incredibly difficult to RP straight. There's only so much you can say about "Athlete X got on a tray and slid down head first/legs first/in a bob and came first/last." For the record, by the way, bobsleigh and skeleton are disciplines in the same sport, whereas luge is considered a different sport.

Hmm yes. That would be hard to RP with only a few minutes on the track. I was aware by the way that luge and bobsleigh/skeleton were different sports. Thanks anyways.

Also, anything my media says about the officials' decisions is notoriously biased toward us, which is why sometimes I will include something from an international website called goodcallsports.com to judge whether the official's call is correct. Several other nations have done this as well. If I include that it should be considered definitive (though your press is free to claim otherwise just as mine does) but if I don't, you can decide for yourself.

The way nearly all sports governing bodies that I know on this site started out as simply a competition. Like the World Cup or World Baseball Classic. As the competition returned for more iterations, it is decided amongst the community that a governing body is needed. Then starts the drafting of Constitutions and such, blah, blah, blah, bureaucracy, then pop in the oven at 350 degree for 10-15 minutes and you pull out a piping hot governing body.

In other words, you don't create a sports governing body. You create a tournament. Thus, starting with the sports governing body is a really bad idea.

So, first I need to make a competition? What's drafting of Constitutions?

Don't worry about what it is, because you won't need it for quite a while. Just create a tournament, and if people like it, then there'll be a need for it. WCoH and IBC are two of the most established and prestigious tournaments on the forum, and they didn't have a constitution until extremely recently.

Landpolis, I would advise you to refrain from creating any other competitions for now; as you've seen with the EIFA and the NSPL, things tend not to go too well when you simply plunge in headlong with a bare-bones thread. You would do well to participate in a few tournaments run by the regulars, observe how they go about their hosting, and then try your hand at it, when you feel that you're sufficiently competent.
