Hello, and welcome to the Nations' Cup 1! This cup is sort of a Triathlon. Nations will compete in three sports— Baseball, Gridiron, and Quidditch. It's started. For experienced players, we have the Veterans' Series. For newbies, we have the Newbies' Series. Average nations are in the Average Series. Here is how we classify you:
Over 500 million pop.—Veterans Series
500 million pop. or less—Newbies Series
There can be 6 spots for each series (2 groups of 3) so that means a total of 12 nations. The cup will be scorinated by The Babbage Islands' Miscellanator. Rankings will be scored by population for the first round, then (PopRank+WinRank)/2 for the rest of the rounds. The cup this year is hosted by me, but I am allowing other nations to bid for the championship game. The winner of the bidders is chosen using http://random.org. Round results released twice a day; one at around 10:00, one at about 5:00.

Good luck. One comment -- you mentioned 48 nations as small. An entry of 48 is actually quite large; only the World Cup, both Olympics, and the World Bowl regularly draw in that range or higher.

perhaps you should make it only 6 in each group. i can't see you getting this many signups or anywhere close. wc of hockey only gets a little bit more than this. start small and if it is successful make the next one a little larger and so on.

Actually, that is for the RANK. Miscellanator uses RANK and RP BONUS. There is RP BONUS.
