4th Scott Cup - RP/Results (Signups closed)

Postby Delaclava » Tue May 18, 2010 4:27 pm

Mmm! Chocolatey tennis goodness! Yummy!

Well, it's not really chocolatey, but it is the Scott Cup, back for its 4th edition.

Rules are the same as always: Each nation sends one male and one female player to Catherina, the capital of Delaclava. Somewhere in the gargantuan Delaclava National Athletic Complex, on the wooden courts, the males from each country will play a best-of-five match, and the females will play a best-of-three. There will then be a best-of-three mixed doubles match. Whichever country won 2 or more courts will win the match.

As usual, there will be a group stage. This is followed by a single-elimination knockout round. This year there will again be the third-place match. The winner gets a bronze medal, and the loser of the third-place match gets a pewter medal. Yep, that's right. The ugly tin thing that some RL country feels they have to give to the fourth-place winner at the skating championships. At least it's something.

RP's will be graded on several things: Understanding of tennis, absence of godmodding, adhering to a storyline of sports, spelling and grammar, and others. Please do not post RPs until signups have been closed.

Scorination will be done at about 9:00 PM EST, using Liventia's tennis scorinator.

Before signing up, note a few things:
1) The current limit is 16, but may change.
2) Please state your players in your signup.
3) No puppets allowed for now.

So let's get signing up!

No, they will not. Hopefully, however, you will sign up and get excited for the world of tennis roleplaying that awaits you in the ITA. :)

Churchma announces top tennis players will enter the fourth edition of the Scott Cup
Churchma Sports Inc.

Two of the top tennis players in the Republic will travel to Delaclava to represent their country in the Scott Cup. The top-ranked male tennis player and the top-ranked female tennis player were chosen by the Churchma Tennis Association to represent our country. Both Dion Brazil and Leah Torbert are relatively young players, 25 years of age and 23 years of age, respectively. This is the first time that Churchma has sent anyone to compete in Delaclava's tennis tournament.

"I like that this tournament has some sort of tradition, and competing in it can do nothing but help us gain experience and prepare us for official ITA tournament play," Brazil said.

"Similar to what Dion said, playing with some of the other top players around the world is only going to help us gain international experience and build a reputation. I can't wait to get to Delaclava and begin this tournament. We're both very excited, and honored, to represent Churchma in the Scott Cup," Torbert said.

Because of the huge amount of tournaments going on right now, I'd like to be able to hold off on closing signups until WC qualifiers are almost done.

Everyone remember that we still only have 17, I'm looking for three more, and with World Cup qualifying nearly over, the calendar's a little less full.
