Sjovenia Confirms Athletes For NS Archery Open 1

After much back and forth between commissioners Sjovenia was able to capture a spot for the NS Archery Open 1! The Committee for Competitive Archery (CCA) announced its three athletes, one male, and two females, who would be partaking in the sport. The Archery Open will include independent and team competitions in both Field Archery and Target Archery. It has yet to be confirmed which athletes are partaking in what competitions. The differences in competitions is more than just the title field and target.

Target archery is the most popular form of archery, in which members shoot at stationary circular targets at varying distances. All types of bow - longbow, barebow, recurve and compound - can be used. Field archery involves shooting at targets of varying (and often unmarked) distance, often in woodland and rough terrain. As well as being a sport in its own right, it can be used to improve the techniques and abilities . More news will be announced as the story unfolds!

HK Brugge [Hockey Club Brugge] enters the World Cup of Ice Hockey #31. After much debating and numerous meetings it has been decided that HK Brugge would be chosen to enter the World Cup. HK Brugge out of Brugge, Belgija District, Sjovenia has had one hell of a season this year and that is what caught the managers eyes. "Their offense could have been a little better" said Dalmo Petivka, HK Brugge's coach, "But I definitely think they are ready for this and it's our nation's first World Cup so we are incredibly honored to go and represent."

The line up hasn't been said just yet....however, we will keep you updated once we get the full line up! Rumor has it that the scheduled event for Sjovenia [MD3 (29 August): 3v1 4v5 2rest] will be on the 29th of August 2016. Schedule shows the number order of 3v1 and 4v5 which would be Nova Anglicana vs Ficiscia and Sjovenia vs Mercedini. I'm not sure about you fans at home but...We here at the Sports Summit are very excited!

HK Brugge Takes Beating, Still Standing

Image
(HK Brugge shown in Yellow, Red, and Black colors)

Earlier today, the 29th of August, was the start of the World Cup of Ice Hockey XXXI, at least for the Sjovene Team HK Brugge. It was Sjovenia vs Mercedini during today's match up and it was Mercedini who took away the win. The end score for the

game being Sjovenia 0 and Mercedini 1. The game was definitely one that was not predicted as this was HK Brugges first official World Cup ever. There was no previous data to go off of and there was no way to compare statistics. The Regional

Sjovene Championships is totally different from the World Cup. None the less....It wasn't the proudest moment for Sjovenia or fans of HK Brugge.

The match started with the two teams skating onto the rink while music played by the band Blur. Mercedini took to the ice as the Sjovene team came out and both circled around the rink a couple of times waving to fans slowly getting warmed up.

After some time the match began with a whistle blow and the dropping of the puck. Mercedini got hold of the puck and started the play. HK Brugge immediately went onto defense, something the team knows very well. Mercedini got the drop on

Sjovenia a couple more times but it was no match for the defensive play of HK Brugge.

Throughout the rest of the game it was an intense back and forth battle seeing the usage of great offensive and defensive maneuvers. In the end Mercedini scored in the 2nd period when a skater blissfully passed number 34 and took a slap shot.

Zoran Paris, Goalie during the score, dropped down on both knees trying to capture the puck but he was just a tad bit short on the catch as the puck barely tapped his catcher and bounced off the Goal post. Air horns sounded while Mercedini

jumped for joy and the crowds went wild. HK Brugge made some hard come back attempts but it all fell short as they were unable to recover.

To see more indepth coverage tune in tonight at 10 as we play a rerun of the match (previously shown live) along with interviews of the players and the coaches for HK Brugge. We apologise for not having their roster up as the coaches for HK

Brugge have refused to release any set-in-stone player rosters. Hopefully soon we can get that posted! Hope you enjoyed the game...up next Formula 1 at the Srbren Circuit!

Official Entry For NS Archery Open 1

Nation Name: Sjovenia
City Name: Capital- Sova Mesto
Format/List of Events: Field Archery and Target Archery

Edmund Niftrik- Target Archery
Sofiya Yakovlev- Target Archery
Monika Silvia- Field Archery

IC Info, for detail: All three competitors for this years events are all registered Olympic Athletes. They have all tested and qualified to be listed as an Athlete however, none of them have actually participated in an Olympic Event...not yet that is. This year will be their first ever debut outside of Sjovenia and will hopefully give them more experience and training. Edmund Niftrik hails from Charleroi, Belgija District, Sjovenia. He is 24 years old with brown messy styled hair. Edmund stands at 6 feet and 2 inches in height. Edmund will be participating in Target Archery.

Sofiya Yakovlev is a bright young lady at the age of 19. She hails from Dusetos, Litva District, Sjovenia and she will be participating in Target Archery as well. She is 4 feet and 10 inches with wavy blonde hair and an interesting fact...her brother, Yakim Yakovlev is also an athlete however unlike his sister using sniper like archery skills. He's more of a brute force in your face kind of guy, guess you have to be as a Boxer.

Up next is Monika Silvia, an expert hunter which is how she came into contact with the sport. Monika comes from Kamnik, Slavija District, Sjovenia and she is 27 years old. Monika has dark brown wavy hair and stands at 5 feet 7 inches. She has dominated most of the Sjovene Archery Championships which earned her lime light in qualifying for the Olympics. She notes that most of her skill she learned at a young age when out hunting with her father in the Kamnik Forest.

Free Practice Recap @Sinikka Grand Prix, Canador

Image

Sepp Sauber (Treko), rider for Kalmyet Racing sweeps around a corner preparing to straighten up for the next turn. Today was a fairly cool day in Canador, a partly cloudy sky with a cool breeze and a temperature of 71 degrees Fahrenheit. The free practice began at approximately 8am while spectators began to show up at roughly 9:30am. The teams were working hard last night as mechanics were setting up bikes and riders were out doing press conferences. Friday was an easy day after practice run after practice. Riders were trying to master all corners and maximize speed on the different straightaways.

We were lucky enough to catch Boštjan Rossi and Oskars Aksson both team mates for Yamaha Racing for a quick interview...

S: So how does it feel to be racing in your homeland and on your home track Oskars?
O: Really great! I'm excited to be here pretty much my second home. I live only 4 hours from the track so its nice and I'm hoping I win both for a home track race win but because my family will be here supporting me.
S: That's pretty awesome, so what is your favorite thing about this track and Rossi this question is for you as well!
O: My favorite thing its the fans, the fans make us who we are, without them we wouldn't have a job or atleast for us it would be a fun job but they make it worth it. Some of those fans come up to me and share their story about how I affected them or how I'm a childs idol. Its a heartwarming feeling.
R: My favorite thing about this track is the ladies! Hahaha but no for real as Oskars said its the fans. It really is what makes this sport special. When you see the fans cheering you on and wearing your jersey so to speak its just a feeling you get inside that I cant quite explain.
S: That's true, it really is true! So Rossi, you're an experienced rider you've raced in the Sjovene Regional Moto Championship for some time now, how does this track compare to the home track in Sjovenia and how is EMGP compared to the Sjovene SRMC?
R: I can't exactly say. I haven't pushed myself here at Sinikka too much cause its only the practice session but tomorrow we will find out. For now its a learning experience and see where I need to improve for tomorrow's qualifying lap. Also, the track in Sjovenia the Jadranko circuit was built primarily for Professional MotoGP and not SRMC. So Sinikka compared to the track I used to race at, the Rhineland-Pfalz Circuit, its not nearly as long but its just as speed driven. You can whip around corners and complete one lap in no time compared to some of the other tracks.
S: So what do you both have to say as far as being team mates?
R: He's a pain in the ass *all three laugh* I mean hes a good team mate but a little inexperienced compared to myself so I'm teaching him a lot of tecnhiques and all that and same for him. His riding style is different and unique from my own and he can do things I would need help on.
O: Rossi is a great mentor really he is. Uh, we are teammates so we plan to push eachother and its really just the way the sport is but one of us will beat the other. Its an inner team rivalry but that's okay. No matter what happens at the end of the day we are a pair of Sjovene and Canadorian team mates and we both race for Yamaha. That's all there is to it. Its the other competitors, as well as eachother [Rossi and Aksson]. that we need to look out for.
S: Alright well that's all we have time for, good luck guys and thank you!
Both: Alright, thank you!

Scotty Olsen Mechanical failure

Image

Scotty Olsen (Polaria) had some mechanical problems and had to stray off the track without any brakes using only the weight of the bike and the grass to help him stop. Around 11:13am Scotty Olsen, rider for Pegasus Racing had a malfunction with his onboard computer system and throttle sensor. To top it off his brakes wore out and gave way leaving him without gas and without brakes coasting off the asphalt and riding on the grass to slow himself down to a stop. Track side marshals rushed out to see what the problem was as Olsen just looked on in frustration. Pegasus Racing's Chief Mechanic said that "it was better for these mechanical failures to happen at practice than it was on race day. It is unknown what caused the throttle and computer to mess up but the brakes was all operator, and maintenance error. Scotty had been riding the brakes a little too much causing them to wear out and the mechanics had scheduled an inspection shortly after lunch. Had they inspected the bike when he came in for a break they would of caught the brakes in time to change them out. Thankfully both rider and bike are okay."

Teranisian Friendship Amidst Terani Troubles

Image

Gazprom Motorsports girls hold up Parastu Charmchi's (Terani) helmet displaying "Jackass". In a recent press conference, Parastu Charmchi was questioned about how the troubles and threats between Canador and his home country of Terani would affect him and racing. He then gave a stern little rant served with a side of humor. "Firstly, I am Teranisian and proud. I am a muslim...yes. But I'm not like most Muslims and I'm not like most Teranisians. I have tattoos and I drink and party way too much. My liver is literally hating me right now haha. What is going on via politics is not exactly of my concern. I'm a motorcycle racer. Not a politician and certrainly not a soldier. My job is to race and please the fans and please my manager and make motorsport history at the same time. Quite frankly I think the threats between the two countries is quite stupid and immature. It makes both nations look like Jackasses. It puts a bad light on me and other Teranisians. It affects the Canadorian people politically and economically. The politicians and those groups making threats...bad. I don't agree with it. A bunch of jackasses, and no offense because as the jokester I am...I'm a jack ass too. Albeit I'm a proud and happy one!" and with that he customized his new helmet to say just that. "Jackass". Parastu Charmchi can be quite the jokester but he is definitely one serious person when it comes to racing. It's all about the passion he was quoted saying. Parastu Charmchi has a great future ahead of him as Dima Valeri's (Sjovenia) team mate but as well as a rider for the Gazprom Motorsports team.

Etharian Olympic Committee Formed With A Vote Of 4 -1

Image

The Autocracy of Sjovenia proposed to the Etharian Council the idea of an Etharian Olympic Committee. The idea was to unite the nations of Etharia for a competitive sport twice a year highlighting athletes for both Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The idea was then put to vote in the Etharian Council which passed 4 to 1 and garnered the support of nations such as Dominatus and Kanadorika. The Etharian Olympic Committee HQ is located in Sol, Avstrija District, Sjovenia and is conveniently located in a geographic location sporting both mountains and fields. It is also conveniently located near a very famous ski resort in Sjovenia which makes it prime real estate for a Winter Olympics Bid. So far for the 2017 Etharian Winter Olympic Games no host bids have been received however rumor has it that the Kanadorikan Olympic Committee may be getting ready to put in for the honor of hosting the first ever Etharian Winter Olympics. Very fitting as the Head Nation of Etharia and it's Council, to be the first to host the Winter Olympics.

Olympic Committee Talks Awakens "The Big Three"

Image

It's only natural that after talks of a regional Olympic Committee that the old rivalries would come out of the wood works and get the people excited! "The Big Three" as they are known in the Hockey world include Kanadorika, Sjovenia, and Treko. These are the big power houses in Hockey and never fail to sell out at events. Kanadorikans have always enjoyed winter sports but most particularly they love to show off their skills and maneuvers. Sjovenes love to demonstrate effect team work that can ultimately lead to a shut out game, and Trekkish enjoy the brute power and force that is demonstrated in the sport of Hockey. "If it doesn't end with a lost tooth and some blood did you really play hockey?" a Trekkish fan said during an interview. Pictured above is the Treko vs Sjovenia (White Striped Jersey) game of 1962 which went on for a grueling three hours and was probably one of the longest and hardest games played between the two nations. It resulted in high double digit scores for both nations and a grand total of 7 fights.
