<Koyro> (Democratic Koyro) NSG senate is a glaring example of why no one in NSG should ever have a position of authority
The Emerald Dawn wrote:"Considering Officer Krupke was patently idiotic to charge these young men in the first place, we're dropping the charges in the interest of not wasting any more of the Judiciary's time with farcical charges brought by officers who require more training on basic legal principles."

Chiefs, Fans Eagerly Await Opening FECOFA Kickoff in Masseau
Morning Star Soccer Reporter Kaila Dovair, in Gurrea, Masseau
ImageFollow The Chiefs at FECOFA in the Morning Star

Nearly 1000 soccer fans from the Kramden are partying tonight in Gurrea, Masseau as they await tomorrow's opening game against Korivania at Parqué Zideta Stadium. Although the three day schedule for the game's Group B falls on a weekday, dogged followers of the sport in the Kramden, encouraged by the Chief's showing in the recent CdE have trekked north to enjoy their favorite game, as well as the well known Massean hospitality and a respite from the depths of the Cedarbrookese winter. At home, rating's are expected to uptick for Cedarbrook Broadcasting System's coverage of the initial round, as the nation's sports fans suffer through the dead zone from the end of the football season until the spring baseball opener, and the months long basketball and hockey seasons continue underway. A notable addition to the team, Center-Back phenom Beyle Paszterik is gaining a lot of attention since obtaining permission from the Proctors at Tarte-Halb University to join with the national squad three weeks ago. Mr. Paszterik, weighing in at 260 pounds and 6 foot two inches had broken the Central State Athletic Association record last spring in the 100 yard dash, and also plays Defensive Lineman on the Tarte-Halb Pakuniaks football squad. I spoke with him the team departed their practice facility at the Arlen Technical University Field House, and his enthusiasm for his newly adopted sport of soccer was infections. He told me at the time "Coach Gutman and the whole team have treated me like family, and I'm really looking forward to getting out there and stepping up the the plate for the Chiefs. Always enjoyed vacationing in Masseau too, friendly people, charming architecture, great beaches. And it will be my first time representing West Cedarbrook on a national level. You know, it's hard to give up professional football dreams, but geting attention for the draft can be hard playing at a State Conference level school. And some of those guys in the Big 11 are hulks at the DL position. So I'm also happy about this opportunity to match up at the Continental level in soccer. If they can put together a successful pro league here in West Cedarbrook, I could give that a look after I graduate. And the exposure at FECOFA will be great too, for a possible soccer draft in East Cortoguay or Montecara."

Speaking with reporters today and about 150 excited fans, including the Cedarbrookese ambassador and the President of the Kramden Lazarene Chamber of Commerce, Coach Gutman said "We’ve got a team that actually loves playing for their country and that’s very important. It’s a driving force among this group of players. The squad was boosted by their showing at the CdE, what with coming within two goals of upsetting Luziyca. We are absolutely ready to face Korivania, and the fans, have a special role to play in the victory. It is as much to do as players and supporters, a show of togetherness I haven’t seen in recent years. And the turnout for this FECOFA from the Kramden is huge, it's amazing. I haven't seen anything like it for years. We're really looking forward to showing Conitia what this team can do, and hope our enthusiasm is infectous not just for the fans here, but for sports fans back home. What better way to spend a bitter cold winter day than seeing our lads pit their best against the best from all across the continent? I just hope it sparks interest in putting together a stable professional league in West Cedarbrook, and giving athletes like those representing us here a chance to continue playing the game they love best at home, instead of waiting for a draft overseas. And, might I add, that the warmth and friendliness of our hosts has been touching. Sure, there are some fans that want to see Chief Nacirema ride into the stadium and hurl the flaming challenge spear into the ground, but of course, local fire regulations have to be observed. I'm sure that all on hand here, and back home are in for a treat".

Masseau-Livancia Game Report

SIESTE, PROVINCIA DE SIESTE - Today, the Blue Warbirds of Masseau started off FECOFA 2016 on the right foot with a 2-0 victory against Livancia. The Jihadis game Masseau a relatively even match, although it was clear that there was some differences in talent. Massean goalie Raymundo Ramires came up huge for the Massean side, saving 5 goals, two of which were very impressive. Man of the match today was Aníbal Vázquez for his deciding goal in the 71st minute from the right wing. Olegario María was credited with the assist for the set up to Vazquez for the goal, which was scored from a couple of yards outside of the box. Masseau was accurate with the passing today, with a high mark of 86% of passes completed. This win puts them at second in Group A, behind - stunningly - Costa Sud, who embarrassed Filimons in the other match of Group A played today. We'll get to that later.

Anyways, the match was well-played by both sides but Masseau capitalized on a couple of opportunities in which Livancia's back line was sleeping. Graciano's goal gave Livancia a sense of urgency to do something, but instead it just made them more mistake-prone. And in the 55th minute, with a Livancian push sending the Masseans on their heels, Mazeed iben Mohammed sent a through ball to Quraish iben Osman, which led a Livancian goal. The only problem was that bien Osman was ruled offside. This came after a dirty slide by Jacobo Asturias tripped Amjad iben Muammar and was rewarded with a yellow card from the referee. And after that, Aníbal Vázquez's goal in the 71st minute just about sealed the game in favor of the Masseans.

Here's what happened around Masseau in the first match day: Costa Sud outplays Filimons in a 3-0 humiliation of the Filimon side. I doubt anyone had Costa Sud winning that game outside of the country itself. Cislecia and East Cortoguay drew, so June 29th was a big day for the little guy. Other results: Francilie's 3-0 thrashing of Lecistan, and a high-scoring match between Montecara and Cavila. Thanks for reading and below is the full game report.

10-man Gare proclaimed champions after 2-1 thriller against Mersch

Wiechltal, AAK — It was striker Arnoldt Postein who scored the match winner in the 88th minute to put Gare above the opposition. With these three points, Gare was officially crowned champions for the 2016-17 Éischt Liga season, accumulating an impressive 80 points. Gare keeper Wolter Schede was named the official Man of the Match after an impressive game, stopping 8 of 9 shots on target, and defensive midfielder Ryner Westfal was voted as the Fan's Man of the Match after producing the equaliser in the 51st minute. Gare wing back Getz Tiergart also had an outstanding game after missing the last three weeks with a pulled quad.

On paper, Gare had the seeming advantage over the bottom table Mersch, and up until the 33rd minute, that's how they played. Gare's starting 11 only saw one change: Defensive midfielder Anno in for the injured Artur Lepmets, while Mersch's starting 11 saw no changes for the match up. Mersch was the first on the board thanks to Sjealandian left winger Jens Fisker, who placed it neatly in the bottom-right in the 33rd minute. The final minutes of the half saw both teams sharing equal opportunities. Mersch's chance to double up on their opponent came in the 45th, when right back Björn Kogler miss-timed a challenge and fouled Fisker right outside the box. Match referee Patrik Rauschenberg judged there was malicious intent and subsequently sent the right back off, leaving Gare with 10 men and giving Mersch a superb free-kick position. The kick, taken by Ainian midfielder Moïse Dembélé, bounced off the bar and into Schede's arms, who managed to keep a hold of the ball.

The second half started with a bang. Six minutes into the start of the half, Westfal lasered it into the top-right corner, giving Gare the equaliser they desperately required. The goal, which was the result of poor communication between the keeper and his defence, gave the downtrodden Gare a much-needed momentum shift. Counterattack followed counterattack with neither team capitalising on any run. Despite the one man advantage, Mersch was losing a majority of the 50/50 battles and had poor passing as the game drew on. It was not until the 88th minute when striker Arnoldt Postein scored an impressive goal from outside the box. The Mersch keeper expected the shot to go safely over, however, he misjudged and cost his side the match.

"It's an amazing feeling," Gare manager Iosef Pöpel said in the post-game press conference. "The amount of work these boys have put into their game is exceptionally, and to have paid off with a championship is more than any manager could hope for. It's truly a pleasure seeing these boys grow as players and as a team." When asked about the sending off of first-choice right back Björn Kogler, the Gare manager had this to say: "While it is unfortunate that [Kogler] was sent off, it is [Rauschenberg's] right to judge what is and isn't malicious. While I personally wouldn't have pulled the red, we just have to make do with the situation and move on."

The championship is Gare's first since the 2003-2004 season, ending a 13-year drought for the club. The club's championship also marks the first time in which one of the power four clubs has not won the league.

"The fans deserve it the most" Gare captain Sigismund Vanderbek said in a post-match interview. "After finishing two out of the bottom last season, we felt that we owe them for their continued dedication and support of the club." Vanderbek, who was born and raised in the Gare district of Weichltal, had a below-average match, earning an EFA match rating of 6.8 (average for the season: 7.3). "When Arnoldt scored, I didn't know what to think. We knew that winning the game would give us the league, but when Björn got sent off, I thought we'd just have to wait until the results of the Teinten match."

With this loss, Mersch now find themselves fourth from the bottom of the table, with only a one point lead on third bottom, Hiefenech. Hiefenech plays tomorrow against Teinten and a win would propel them above Mersch. As the season winds down, pundits can only guess at what teams will join Spartan Noumer in being sent back down to Zweeter Liga.

Douglas Coy Edges Out Brother Graham Over 12 Rounds

Douglas Coy (22-0-3KO's) clinched the Novumeran Flyweight Championship on Friday night by overcoming a third round knockdown by Graham Coy (6-6-1-2KO's) to win via 12 round split decision.

“I opened up a little too much in the third round,” said Douglas, referencing the knockdown. “I was a little more patient the rest of the way. Graham is a terrific competitor. He never backed down. It’s a great win.”

Graham, who had one judge see the fight in his favor (76-75), struck pay dirt in the third when he landed a counter left hook that dropped his older brother. After that, Douglas settled down and became more precise in his punching.

In addition to the flyweight title, Douglas takes home family bragging rights beating his younger brother, who is 10 years his junior and said in the build up that Douglas was "getting on a bit"

Netball Season Round Up - Spring 2017

Division One

In an enthralling climax to the season,  the top two sides (Anndon Asteroids and Francland Volcanoes) went head to head in the final game of the season, separated by goal difference.   It was Asteroids who held the goal difference ad.  Volcanoes and Asteroids hold a staggering ten Amateur Premiership titles between them and this was arguably a clash between the two greatest two teams to have ever graced the novumeran netball courts.   In an incredible match Asteroids won 23-22 meaning they finished three points ahead and were crowned champions in the first professional season. It was a superb end to the season and it means Asteroids are the first team to win the new Professional Netball League, which is due to reform to a play off system next season, which finishes on the 10th December this year.  They will no doubt have their sights set on winning consecutive titles.  However, this season proves the other teams aren't too far behind them and it sets up what should be a fascinating contest next season. The player of the season award was won by Asteroids’s super star Gina Rounds.

Division Two

Neilia Fire stormed to the Division Two title and into the Championship with a sensational season long display.   Led by captain, Jade Fairchild, the team gained promotion in some style, albeit worthless due to league reforms coming in next season.  In the two seasons Fire have been around, they have lost just six game out of twenty eight!  An impressive record and one that suggest they may not be finished yet, as they look to make a big effort for the Championship next season.

The runners spot and final promotion place went to Timlin Tsunamis, who edged out the unlucky Paulo Blizzards on head to head points.  Blizzards won't be too disheartened however as they showed some impressive form towards the end of the season and have to go down as contenders for next year.  Tsunamis' promotion was done the hard way, after they incredibly lost their first four games of the season!   However, a sensational second half of the season saw them storm up the table and achieving promotion.

The player of the season award was some consolation for Mandia Dragons, who finished just fourth due to their low goal difference - star player Gillian Gallagher won the award.

Predictably unpredictable. Perhaps the best way to describe the Novumeran Gaelic Football these days. There are certain things you can count on to happen but there is always the odd joker in the pack. This season proved that.

A look first to some of the supporting players in this season’s championship. Camdam, full of new faces after a break full of retirements, looked to say goodbye to Kieran Kavanah with a league title. Instead they were decimated by a rejuvenated Jackiis, before just coming up short against Francland in the final game.

Annieton were a source of much interest during the final rounds of the season, not entirely for footballing reasons. As if a pre-match brawl with Elleno wasn’t enough, they then banned the media from their stadium as they narrowly avoided relegation.

According to most football fans, all Anndon had to do was show up, kick a few points, and the title would be theirs come the end of the season. Let there be no doubt about it: in terms of pure footballing ability, Anndon are easily the best group of players in the country. But this season showed us that that is not enough to be successful. Some claimed that an era of the Green and Blues dominance was on the horizon and that it would be years until there would be a team to take down Anndon. Foolish thought, in hindsight, when there was one all along in Francland, as Anndon finished third. Camdam pipped them to second.

Ah, Francland. Surely the most written about football team in the country over the last few years, mostly for the wrong reasons. Who would have thought that the developers of “brick football” would be seen as the heroes come the end of the season? But so it was, as they not only denied Camdam the freedom to score, but tore them apart in attack as well. It was the perfect performance, easily the best of Davy Quigley’s impressive reign.

If Camdam winning the first division was the biggest surprise of the season, the second division served up the biggest spectacle: Jeno vs. Mandia. Two sides that many had written off; Mandia had a habit of crumbling under pressure, whilst Jeno were in transition. Yet what followed was 60 minutes of pure drama – not limited to red cards, scraps, penalties, and an epic duel between Chase Payne and Morty Huxley was worth the entrance fee alone.

In the end it was Jeno who won with a last minute counter attack. The circumstances of the victory seemed to galvanise the Islanders, to make men out of the young players that formed most of the team. It certainly helped them give the mature performance they did in the final game to seal the title.

Jackiis Chainsaws Dumps Hattien Fishers 77-54 to Win Novumeran Basketball Championship

Cody Edwards scored 18 points on 8 for 12 shooting, Fredric Bryson scored 16 and passed out six assists and Edgar Causey chipped in 15 points leading Jackiis Chainsaws to victory in the NBC Final. Jackiis led 41-32 at the intermission and emerged from the break to go on an 18-4 run to put the game away taking a 59-36 lead on Edward’s layup with 11:51 left. Edwards scored seven points during the run. Lee Reynolds’ early free throw gave Hattien (3-4) its only lead of the game before the Chainsaws scored seven straight. Carlton Eustis made a three to pull Hattien to within 12-9, but the Chainsaws stretched the lead to 22-14 on Causey’s three with 12:55 left before half time. Lim Terrell led Hattien with 19 points and was the only player on his team in double figures. This game rounds up an exciting season of basketball.

Lloyd Jones Continues Poor Form
~Wosracan Premier Division Football~

Tensions were high today as Manager Llyod Jones continued his poor form as Oernant lost 3-1 at home to Eliddmere. He now faces the very real possibility of being sacked after losing out on the title, two years in a row. Oernant have now dropped to 6th position in the league with a long climb ahead of them. Eliddmere's star striker, Kyle opened up the game by converting a free kick and beating Goalkeeper Ymes at the far post in the 20th minute. Oernant managed to equalise at the 31st minute thanks to the young winger's, Arthur, cross into the box.

Before the first time whistle, defender Alex Ralidd attempted to slide tackle Kyle but misjudged his timing earning him his second yellow card and an early bus ride home. Oernant then tried to mix things up for the second half, bringing on an inexperienced Arwel who looked to be lost in his own world before receiving a minor injury due to landing awkwardly after a header. In the 70th minute Celyn beat the keeper in a one-on-one. Oernant fans began to leave early. To make matters worse Ymes then gave away a penalty after raising his leg into Kyle in a one on one. Kyle went left, Ymes did not.

One Oernant fan later posted on a Oernant CP fan page, "Jones needs the sack, just three years ago we were title holders, now we're struggling to stay in the top half as teams in the relegation zone demolish us. Shameful"
