Welcome to the first NS Sports tournament ever scorinated with Must10inator, the new scorinator for boxing and mixed martial arts. This is the Ilysea Amphitheater Classic! As the creator of Must10inator and a bidder for the Games of the XI Olympiad, I have decided to launch this tournament to test out the new scorinator. To signup, fill out the following form:

The Style Modifier is a number between -5 and +5 that reflects your MMA fighter's style of fighting. A negative style modifier means your fighter is more likely to take fights to the ground and try for submissions while a positive style modifier means your fighter is more likely to fight standing up and try to knock his/her opponent out.

Signups will close once we reach 16 signups and the format for both the boxing and MMA tournaments will be a single round robin 4 groups of 4 group stage with the top two fighters from each group advancing to the knockout rounds. Signups are limited to one nation per user. From there, it will be single-elimination, with the exception of the third place fight. Both tournaments are openweight tournaments that will be contested in the Ilysea Amphitheater in Ilysea, the proposed site of both sports in my Games of the XI Olympiad bid. I encourage you to save details about your fighters, beyond the required information for signups, for RPs.

Both tournaments will utilize 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Whichever two fighters have the most points after the conclusion of the single round-robin will advance.

Should fighters be tied and should the tie need to be broken to determine advancement, the first tiebreaker will be the HTH result(s) between tied fighters. The second tiebreaker will be the number of judges that scored fights in favor of that fighter. A knockout or submission will be considered equivalent to 5 judges scorecards in favor of that fighter. The third tiebreaker will be number of rounds won. A fighter who wins a round on two or more judges scorecards will be credited with a round won. In the event of a knockout or submission, the fighter that secured it will be credited with two rounds won for that round and two for every scheduled round that was not fought. The fourth and final tiebreaker will be total +- across all judges scorecards.

In the event that all four tiebreaks fail or should a knockout round fight end in a draw, a one-round fight known as a climax will be fought between the tied fighters with the winner of the round (ie. whichever fighter wins on 2 or more judges scorecards) advancing. In the event that the above tiebreaks fail and the tie does not effect advancement, the fighters will both advance and the higher seed will be chosen at random.

As we have been sitting at 8 signups for 5 days, I am going to close signups now and run the tournaments with the 8 signups we have now. The format will be changed to a 2 groups of 4 format, with the top 2 fighters in both groups advancing to the championship tournament and the bottom 2 fighters in both groups competing in a consolation tournament in the interest of increasing the sample size. An RP/results thread will be posted within the next 24 hours.

I have also produced a new version of Must10inator to address something that had been bothering me in the program (the formula for calculating the scores of the various judges in the previous version was producing quite a few 10-9, 10-8, 10-7 rounds and not enough 10-9, 10-9, 9-10 rounds for my liking). I have since adopted a new formula that produces reduces the variation in the random numbers used for the 3 judges scores for random numbers at the bottom and top of the program's range (while adjusting the constants so as to make the variation 5 times as large in the middle 80%).

For more details on how Must10inator works, please refer to my post in the scorinator discussion thread announcing the release of version 1.0. As I did for version 1.0, I have pre-compiled version 1.1 of Must10inator for Windows and released the source code, which can be compiled for any other operating system, just as you would normally compile a C++ program for that OS.

Well, it wasn't up within 24 hours, but the Everything Thread is now up.

For the boxing groups, I used the Greek letters alpha and omega while I used the Roman numerals I and II for MMA groups, in keeping with the Greco-Romanesque society with magic and actual gods theme of my nation.

I should also warn everybody that the first cutoff will be at 9 AM North American Eastern Time on Friday, not 9 PM.

As it turns out, the result of the Darius Halbert vs Linda Henshmen fight today brought a Must10inator bug to my attention. As I designed the scorinator so that Judge 1 is biased in favor of one fighter by the same margin that Judge 3 is biased in favor of the other fighter, the judges should never score a round 10-7, 10-8, 10-7.

Upon investigation, I discovered the source of the bug and have now released a new version of Must10inator with the bug fixed:

Since the bug likely affected the results today, I have decided to declare that this first matchday never happened and push the entire tournament's schedule back a day. The results that I posted earlier will be spoilered.
