Welcome to the United People’s Republics of Silvacometopia, where people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight, a niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up, and the government prefers to take a hands-off approach to catastrophes. Crime is well under control, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare.
The competition will be hosted in various cities throughout the nation. We hope you all enjoy the tournament.

Since the last tournament, Oisinistan have sacked their former coach Davy Fitz, having failed to win either of the two tournaments he was in, replacing him with former international, Andrew Comiskey. Comiskey is infamously known for his 'Subgate' incident, in which he complained about the food in the host country, but received a bitter backlash from the twitter public. Anto Leahy has been called up in a shock move to replace Mark Fitzgerald, as the Askamore goalie was not seen as 'good enough' by the new boss. After a tragic turn of events left James Ryan unable to play football ever again, MacNeasa wasted no time in drafting in Ryan's teammate, the charismatic but outspoken Eric Leahy. Mick Walsh and Daniel Doyle, former internationals in the past two squads, have retired and been replaced by younger players Liam Coolan and Mike Hassett, while after a stunning season for the Shamrocks, forward Rob Ferriter has been included in the first fifteen, at the expense of Cian Lynch of St Mary's. One big gamble has been the inclusion of 16 year old Conall O'Keeffe, who is seen as one of the brightest prospects that Oisinistan have.

GAA TV have kept their commentating staff of James Sheridan and David Malone, and added an analysis team.

Noksen Team to Face Asokaido in Opening Match

Ever since Asokaido came into this world, it has fought with the Federation. So perhaps it's fitting that their first match in the Gaelic Football World Championships is against the Federation itself. Although unlike the disastrous 1944 war, this encounter is in a much more friendly setting.

The Federation is no newcomer to the GFWC, having achieved third place in the first edition of the tournament and not competing in the second edition due to issues with the national team. Gaelic Football still remains a fairly unheard of sport in the Federation, so it is hoped that further Noksen participation in the tournament will help spark interest in the sport in the nation.

The match between the Federation and Asokaido will be broadcast live on NSC 2 at 12:00pm, on the 7th of May.

Phred Johnson: The Hamitltonian team is giong through the toughest practice seccion since they lost in the second world championships. Extra drills, personal trainers, it has it all. With the Gaelic Football World Championships III approaching quickly, no chances are being taken. Everyone knows how high the stakes are, for to get a good spot in the bracket you want a strong start. Over to Fill for more on this story.

Fill Jamison: Thanks Phred. Now as we look into the first two games of the season, we see first the BeardedAndroidia team. This should be a simple enough win. The coach and the entire country is expecting a nice win there. It should be a nice win and a boost against the hardest team in the division, and the world, United Vietussia. If we can win this game, we are expected a huge boost throughout the rest of the games, and should end up in the top two no problem to get into the playoffs. Now on to our sideline reporter, Tina Queston.

Tina Queston: I am here with the manager and coach if the beloved Hamitltonia Foodstuffs, Carlos Hamilton. Thanks for coming.

Carlos Hamilton: The pleasure is all mine. Thanks for having me.

Tina Queston: No problem. So, how are the Hamitltonia Foodstuffs this year?

Carlos Hamilton: The team's great. We had some good practices over the offseason, we bonded, and we learned together. I really think we have a chance of winning our group this year. While we have some tough competition against the Vietussian team, I know we can do it.

D.M: Nope, the prediction game, in which we predict who will come where.
J.S: Ahah. Okay, so let's have a look at group A then.

D.M: And I notice Banija, a mainstay of the tournament, are in this group too. They could do well. Our rivals Ethane are stuck in this group, along with previous competitor Cosumar, and Ko-Oren, who will be looking to emulate their successes in other tournaments in this.
J.S: And then there's Tasutamaa. Who? I'll say YNRistan, then Banija, Ethane (Sheridan spits), Ko-Oren, Cosumar and Tasutamaa.
D.M: Nobody can look past Youhavenorightsistan to do well in this, so they're going to come first. I bet you. They'll be followed by Ethane (doesn't spit), Cosumar, Banija, Ko-Oren and Tasutamaa. Now, we shall look at the final group, group D.

Phred Johnson: I totally agree. I expect it to be Silvacometopia, Amazonesta, Firebolt, Savalen, Ethylwhatever, then Beaverriver.

Fill Jamison: A pretty good guess. Only I think Ethylwhatever will beat Savalen.

Phred Johnson: Okay. Onto Group 2. This might be one of the harder groups to decide. First Hamitltonia, Then United Vietussia, then Noksentin, then Bearded Androida, then Asokaido, then Leaf Kingdom.

Ethanian Team

Once again, the Ethanian Gaelic Football team will be playing in the Gaelic Football World Championships. After successfully hosting the tournament in the first edition, the team will be flying out to Silvacometopia to compete for this edition.

A good performance in the edition of the Gaelic Football World Championship in Frenline Delpha that preceded this one has seen the manager and the majority of the team maintain their positions in the team, vying to do better, and get further than the Round of 8, which is the level that was achieved before.

The team will be looking to the future after the past 2 tournaments, as they hope to slowly edge further into the competition. Knocked out in the group stages in the first edition, which was hosted in Ethane, and the round of 8 in the 2nd edition, when they got knocked out by Youhavenorightsistan, they will be hoping that they can at least get to the Quarter-Finals.

This will prove no easy feat for them though, as they have to face up to what is a fairly tough group them. Sporting giants such as Cosumar, Banija and Ko-oren will be hoping to replicate their teams in other tournaments in this one, and Youhavenorightsistan, who won the last tournament, will be looking to compete again for that title.

Team to face tough group

The Ethane Gaelic Football Team will have a tough time in their group at the Gaelic Football World Championships as they are drawn with the previous winners of the tournament.

Ethane, after being knocked out of the previous GFWC by the very team that went on to win it, will be looking to progress here, in the hope of getting further than anticipated for previous tournaments. The team will be looking to build on the success of the 2nd edition of this tournament, after the disappointment of the first one, which was held in Ethane, and continue to succeed in this tournament.

However, with the team drawn into a tough group, this possibility is looking like a very challenging one, as they will have to face up to many strong teams in the group stages.

On the first day of this tournament, they will be facing up against Ko-oren. Ko-oren is a debutant in this tournament, and will be looking to make some good initial impressions. They will be looking to replicate the success that they have with their teams in other sports, and if they do manage to achieve this level of play, then the Ethanians are going to be in for a tough challenge for the game against them. However, as the Ko-oren team has not had experience in Gaelic Football before in this tournament, they are still unlikely to win, putting Ethane far out front as the favourites to win this group.

On the second day of this tournament groups stages, the team will be facing off against Banija. This game will be an interesting one for Ethane, as while the Banijans have competed in this tournament before, their success has been fairly limited, meaning they are only 19th in the ranks. They will certainly not be looking to make it easy for the Ethanians, but it is not an impossible game for Ethane to win, who are certainly the favourites to win this game.

The third day will by far the most difficult day for the Ethanians in these groups, and could, if the Ethanians manage to win the rest, or most of the rest of their games, be the deciding match for who finishes top and who finishes second in the group. The Ethanians are facing the 3rd ranked Youhavenorightsistan, who were the previous winners of this tournament, and the team that knocked out the Ethanians in the Quarter-finals in the last tournament. This will prove a difficult task for the Ethanians, who are ranked 7th, but they will be hoping to avenge their previous loss. The benefits of having this game so early is that they will not be knocking the team out come the Round of 16 and the Quarter-Finals, if all does go to plan for the Ethanians. The favourites to win this game are Youhavenorightsistan, but it is only a small odds favour to their team.

The fourth day brings the level of play down a notch from that of the 3rd day, as they will be playing against the 16th ranked Cosumar. This will provide a challenge for the Ethanians, but not too much of one, as they will be facing against a lower team than then. However, if the Cosumarite team do find a hidden bit of good form, than the Ethanians are going to have a lot more to worry about than what they are having for dinner on this day. The favourites to win this game is Ethane, by a fair stretch, but not too far to make it impossible for Cosumar to win.

On the final day of the groups, the team will be facing Tasutamaa. They are the unknown in this group, as the team has never heard about this nation before in the sporting world, so the challenge they will pose towards Ethane is unknown. The Ethanians are going to be wary of them, but they will be hoping that it is just some dud team that doesn't do much, and gives the team a respite for their final game in the groups, and place them in prime position to progress into the tournament.

By far, this is not going to be an easy group for the Ethanians, but from the offset, the team is favourite to place second in the group, and marginally off winning the group according to all the bookies.

Vietussian Gaelic Football play begins tonight

Vietussia will finally have a chance to get back on the world stage in Gaelic football when they open up Group B play against Leaf Kingdom, who will also play Vietussia's world American football team in Vietussia tonight in World Bowl group play.

Also in the group includes 6th ranked Hamitltonia and 8th ranked Noksentin, setting up for a interesting threesome for the most part, but taking a look at some of the rosters, be prepared for some dark horses in the next 5 days.

A game against good allies Hamitltonia will be interesting on both sides, sparring the top team versus a potential top 5 in the making. Vietussia had hoped to get to play the team last championship, but were unfortunately unable to do so. This will mark the first ever match between the two teams.

When asked about the match, manager Xavier Nogueras had this to say: "It has been fun to watch the Hamitltonian team play in the past season and through the offseason. With the unveiling of leagues, it would be fun to see this team in our league. Although I will thoroughly enjoy the game, I can definitely say that we will win."

To wrap up group play, the Vietussian team will have to face 8th ranked Noksentin in their first ever matchup in Gaelic football. A Noksentinian win could propel the team into the top 5 and drop Vietussia from the top spot if they aren't careful.

All in all, 7 of our 8 experts predict an undefeated group state (one predicts 4-1). 6 of 8 predict a championship win (1 predicts championship loss, the other a semifinal loss). It will be assuredly interesting to watch this team continue to grow with the same team for the third straight championship. The team has easily built up a strong relationship, with chemistry flowing in and out of the practice fields.
