I was initially going to start signups for this a couple months ago, then RL hit me in the face. I'm not sure how much interest this will garner.

Anyways, welcome to the Internationale Club Hockey Challenge, where ice hockey teams from across the Multiverse will compete!

How this will work is: you will sign up a club team from your national ice hockey league (not a national team) and RP with it like any other. For example, I could sign up the Kolra Flyers as a club team form the Kaboomlandian Ice Hockey League (KIHL).

All users will be allowed to pick one nation. Puppets will be forbidden for the first edition; however, you may sign up a second team under your main nation if you posted a roster during the last World Cup of Hockey. However, please show courtesy to your fellow participants and don't sign up a second team unless you'll be able to RP with it.

The tentative deadline for host bids will be April 30 May 10.

Sorry for the hassle, but might I take over for Jonistavia? This is a puppet of Jonistavia on which I am a lot more active. The team will be the same.

Either way, I would put forward a bid to host the International Club Hockey Challenge in the idyllic city of Ulsteinberg, situated in the North of the Letwinist State of Ostwege. It is easily accessible by road and rail, the international airport of Kisämäki being just a half an hour drive away from the city.

Ulsteinberg is a city of advanced tourism infrastructure and there is no reason to doubt the capacity of the commune when larger events are being planned. There are two Ice Hockey Stadiums, one to the north of the city -also used for other events- and one to the west as part of the Sport Village. Here, there are also rooms for up to seven teams and a restaurant, as well as other sport capacities including table tennis, a fitness room and a biathlon track.

Teams not accommodated in the village will be able to find places in one of the hotels in the area.

People's Police and further security forces are without doubt able to secure all international events and the area of the city for the duration of the Challenge. We would just need to be informed of the way in which the organisers would handle broadcasting rights.

Ah. Firstly, thank you.

Now, I apologise, I did not realise I would need that. I may not be able to host in that case, simply due to the fact that all I can work with is my mobile at the moment (unfortunate circumstances). So I believe I will not be able to run a great amount of scorinators. If I manage to get everything working again by the 10th, I will re-submit my bid.

I am tempted. Would you give me some assistance though, especially with a good RP bonus system? I failed a bit with that when I did my first hosting (the Sixdays) - it did turn out well, but I had to improvise a new system on the first match day cause the one I wanted to use didn't work out as planned. Overall interested to get some experience though.

About Ficiscia and Friya

The Democratic States of Ficiscia are a democratic nation in the Social Liberal Union, known not only for a nice landscape, a thriving book-publishing industry, high tax rates and a solidly social-democratic government in various combinations, but also its love for sports and especially ice hockey. Especially the northern half of the country loves hockey and the national team has won a bronze medal at the WJHC 10. In their first grownup World Cup, they have reached the round of 16 where the Ficiscians lost both games against then hosts RK of Quebec. The Ficiscian hockey association would exceptionally like to host this tournament as they celebrate their 75th year of existence. The nation's strong hockey culture would ensure full stadiums and a party for all hockey lovers.

Friya (or Freanum in Ficiscian) is the capital of the province Ficiscia Ulterior and the autonomous region of Norjalann. It is mainly inhabitated by the Norja minority, originally nomadic people who now settled down mostly. Friya has 1'350'000 inhabitants and is the home of the Norja Hockey Klubb Friya, who will represent Ficiscia in this competition. NHK is 7-times Ficiscian champion and known for almost entirely featuring Norja players. They play their home games in the modern and usually loud Norjastadion, capacity of 12'300, and for the International Club Hockey Challenge, we would be transforming the Friya City Event Center, a multi purpose hall used mainly for concerts and other indoor sports events, into a temporary ice stadium as well, capacity 8'600.

OOC Information

The tournament format would obviously depend on the number of teams, but with 10 teams as we have now, I would do a two-stage tournament with two groups of five, the top 2 of each group qualifying to a single-elimination tournament. For the knockout rounds, I would consider BO3 series as in the WCOH or single games depending on time plan and interest, but personally I prefer single games. Scorination would be done with xKoranate's ice hockey option, using the standard modifiers. The intended tiebreakers are:

- Points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw after OT)
- H2H points
- Goal difference
- H2H goal difference
- goals scored
- H2H goals scored
- random.org

My hosting experience is small, which is part of the reason I want to host this tournament. I have, however, done two cycles of my own domestic ice hockey league and organized the Ficiscia Sixdays, a cycling competition featuring multiple nations. Outside NS, I have hosted a few music online contests as well, but I'm not sure if that's in any way relevant here.
