There is no "response" to be had

You just need to start RPing in the RP thread and hope to get picked up by a team. Things are happening quickly and not many seats are left so read up quick and get to posting! :)

OOC: I'm not sure I'm supposed to do that... Someone please correct me if what I did was wrong

First come first serve, what you did is fine with me. Just make sure you keep RPing if you want a shot at a ride ;)

Hey, quick question since I'm new:

Is RP bonus cumulative across the entire season? I assume the answer is yes, but does preseason RP count towards the season bonus?

The reason I ask is to know if RP'ing every road test I'm attending is worth it in the long run. Like, I don't want to bust myself RP'ing every round of a test if I'm likely to not get the team pickup or the later-on RP bonus from it, y'know?

Anybody who knows how that works would be much appreciated. Or just a general description of how the RP bonus works over the whole season.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure every single thing you contribute will help you so long as it is a worthwhile contribution.

I can't map "You type this much" to "your speed will increase this much"

but its safe to say, Those who RP, at any point - now or later, will be rewarded more than those who do not. The earlier, and the often you RP, the more it will help you throughout the season.

Needless to say, its not just about quantity, but about quality. 15 one-liner RPs will likely help you less than one good storyline RP

Okay, thanks, I get that.

I just didn't want to take a lot of time to do nice RP's in the preseason if it all counts for nothing once the actual season starts.

Hi Drawkland, apologies for the late reply. As I've said elsewhere I'm not generally available between Mondays and Thursdays right now.

The RP bonus is a little mixture of a cumulative style bonus and a deteriorating bonus. RP's are graded on a number of factors (which I won't divulge here).

The cumulative part of the bonus means that writing a good RP will increase the likelihood of your car/driver having quicker laptimes from now until the end of the season.

The deteriorating part of the bonus means that writing a good RP before, say, race three will mean your driver/car is given a little boost in the scorinator before that race, a smaller boost before race four and an even smaller boost before race five.

Consistently RPing well should give you an advantage, but there is also the random factor to consider too. There is also a small advantage if your team races at their 'home' track, but not for the driver (e.g. the ENSADRINK team's drivers will receive a small bonus before the Grand Prix of Hodori, but Sayono Souzare, who drives with Archer, will not)

RP's posted in this period will have an effect on the nation's team/driver performance for the season, but especially for race one.

TEAM NAME: Vilita & Turori Motorsports
RATING: (4.8/4.2/3)
HEADQUARTERS: Rockii Coast, Vilita (Development and test Mirror facility in Eelandii, Turori)
RACING COLOURS: Vilitan Cove Blue, Jungle Teal, Tropicorp Tangerine & Eelskin Brown (Projected)
BIO: Former WGPC power houses V&T won the WGPC 11 championship with driver Stang Crax of Falcania while finishing 2nd in the constructors title to Carvenlo. After losing a step and dropping in the WGPC 12 standings, Vilita & Turori Motorsports fell behind in their development for WGPC 13 and its drivers dispersed to join other teams. With funding from Tropicorp and private entities, the team, which had shifted their focus to supporting the domestic series and the NSFC series, made a late push to develop a technologically advanced prototype for WGPC 14. The engineers put the final touches on the car only weeks before the start of the season and will have all their fingers crossed that it holds together in the seasons first official practice session.

ooc: This was pre-planned / approved part of the RP line for the pre-season

Confirming that V+T will be the eleventh team in the new season, opening up two extra spots for drivers who have yet to find a team.

We'll also be pushing everything back a week with regards to scorinations. The Proluvian test will be scorinated on Sunday the 27th instead of this Sunday, with race one happening the week after.

Is it to late for someone new to join? I heard about this from Aboveland and it looks very exciting indeed.

Throughout karting and the lower levels of motorsport, he has been known for consistent, calm, and technical driving. There is little that can stop him finishing a race, though he is not one to put in spectacular performances. An unsuccessful foray into rallying left him on the back foot, but he now hopes that his consistent and reliable driving can land him a seat in the WGPC.

Technically, no it isn't, but the driver signing period is almost done and I'd suggest at this point it may be difficult for your driver to find a team. Your best bet is to keep RPing (maybe RP your driver going to races as a spectator?) and maybe midway through the season a team will pick your guy up.

Lindström has been added to the driver roster. Just over a day until the pre-season practice.

There is no real deadline for driver signups, but naturally late signups will have more difficulty securing a seat.

A couple of things:

I'd said that qualifying would be 12 hours late, but it was nearer 24 hours late, so apologies for that. I was forced to go to Milan for sushi and art galleries. #FirstWorldProblems

The extra drivers, different car pictures and new qualifying systems have slowed scorination down a little, and will continue to do so for a couple of weeks until I get everything streamlined again. The cut-off for the Grand Prix will be Sunday night at 10pm GMT. Results should follow soonish, but in case I run into any unforeseen time-consuming problems then the actual scorination might be 24 hours later.

A few drivers appear from their qualifying lap-times to be well off the pace. This isn't really the case. The two-tier qualifying system means that only six laptimes are scorinated for round one. With the traditional qualifying system, ten laps are scorinated, meaning each driver has more chances to record a properly quick lap. Last season only one driver (on average) didn't manage to post a competitive time (2 or 3 seconds down from the rest) per session. This will rise slightly for races which use the two-tiered system.

Naturally, one-shot qualifying is going to be a total free-for-all...

On a positive note, well done everyone for the level and quantity of RPing. So far there seems to be twice as much interested as there was last season. Keep it up! And as usual, give me a TG if you have any questions.

I presume a cnp error left GUnnar Frederickson of WGPC Motorworks off the results.

Judging by the gap, I presume he finished 13th a lap down.
