Cosumar National Team - World Cup 74

Image

Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Government: Cosumar is a Fiefdom, which means Cosumar is divided into 21 historical "fiefs". These are now effectively provinces. Cosumar's government is a constitutional monarchy and believes wholeheartedly in complete civil rights, advancing science, conserving nature and exploring outer space. Cosumar is known for being the "Most Developed" nation in Atlantian Oceania according to WA Census, and in the Top 1% of the world's developed nations. Our current ruler, King James II, has done a remarkable job of promoting progress while simultaneously maintaining both our unique culture and diverse natural features.

Region: Atlantian Oceania (far Northeast)

Official Nicknames: Azure Dragons (typically shortened to "Dragons"), Vanquishers (as of WC 72)

Colors: Navy, Royal Blue, Silver, White

Stadium: Leviathan Arena (capacity 99,114)

Location: Kaldukosic, Kaldukosic Fief, Cosumar

Context: Since Cosumar made its international debut in World Cup 51, this will be our 24th consecutive appearance in the tournament. In World Cup 73, new manager Gethin Ramsey built on the momentum from winning the previous Cup of Harmony to qualify Cosumar to the World Cup Finals for the first time since World Cup 62 - ending a miserable 20-year drought. Then, the Dragons advanced all the way to the quarterfinals before finally falling to eventual medalist San Jose Guayabal. With the program now rejuvenated, expectations are higher than they have been in a long time. Not qualifying would be a massive letdown.

History: Cosumar qualified for six consecutive World Cups (54-59) in its "golden age" of football, going out twice in the group stage and then four times in the Round of 16. After World Cup 59, Cosumar reached its peak ranking of #7 in the world. The National Team's gradual decline began in World Cups 60 and 61, in which they were eliminated in the qualification playoffs despite strong campaigns. They would qualify once again for World Cup 62 in Astograth, but the downward trajectory had already set in. World Cups 64-66 were particularly bleak and saw our once-elite ranking dip as low as the 80s. Many demanded that Farris Crowley, manager since WC54, be sacked... the glory days of his tenure a distant memory. But the Fiefdom Soccer Federation (FSF) stuck with him, and Cosumar began re-emerging as a force to be reckoned with around World Cup 67. A marvelous crop of young talent (including the likes of Francois Renault, Giovanni Aldinne and Alexander Pearce), now lovingly referred to as the "Renaissance Generation", started to restore the former sense of honor to Cosumarite soccer. They led the Dragons to several more successful WC and CoH campaigns...though they never did manage to return to the biggest stage. They came oh-so-close every time, but the Football Gods were never on their side. Their biggest achievement and swansong ended up being a 3rd place medal at Cup of Harmony 62. Farris Crowley was finally sacked after 40 years after the colossal failure of World Cup 72, in which the team put in the worst Qualifying campaign since our debut. Eight draws against lower-ranked sides. But replacement Gethin Ramsey (of Nephara fame) salvaged Cosumar's ranking by winning the subsequent Cup of Harmony. Ramsey continued to work wonders in his first World Cup in charge (the last one), leading the Dragons to their best ever finish (Quarterfinals) fresh off the back of 72's failure.

Most glorious moments:
Cosumar 1-0 Cotdelapoms - Cup of Harmony 45 Third Place Playoff - Late Rikki Varshney winner for our first medalist finish.
Cosumar 4-0 Haginonia - World Cup 54 Interzonal Stage - Showdown on the final day of Qualifying with both sides' first World Cup berth at stake: we rolled.
Cosumar 1-0 Sarzonia - World Cup 57 MD3 - Dragons advance to their first Round of 16 at Sarzonia's expense.
Cosumar 7-3 Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 60 Qualification Playoff - Brutal revenge against K&P for ousting us on penalties in the previous World Cup's Round of 16.
Cosumar 5-1 The Sarian - Cup of Harmony 64 Finals - Ramsey and the newly-christened "Vanquishers" propel Cosumar to lift a first WCC trophy.
Valanora 2–2 Cosumar (3–3 AET) (7–8 pen.) - World Cup 73 Round of 16 - After splitting the series in group play, we triumphed over the Elves to claim our first ever Quarterfinals.

Most heartbreaking moments:
Cosumar 1-1 (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs) Churchma - Cup of Harmony 45 Semifinals - Losing on penalties always hurts, especially when it's to your oldest rival so deep in a tourney.
Cosumar 0-3 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 55 MD3 - It came down to this match for a spot in the Ro16, and we got our asses kicked.
Cosumar 2-4 Sorthern Northland - World Cup 56 Round of 16 - We finally made it to the knockout rounds for the first time, just to be humbled by these guys again.
Cosumar 1-4 Jeru FC - World Cup 57 Round of 16 - Another drubbing in the Ro16.
Cosumar 0-4 The Babbage Islands - World Cup 58 Round of 16 - New Cup, same story. Dragons fall apart in the knockouts.
Cosumar 3-3 (3-3 AET, 2-4 PKs) Kagdazka & Pazhujebu - World Cup 59 Round of 16 - This is THE match that haunts the dreams of every Cosumarite to this day. We had rolled through our Qualification and World Cup groups in dominant fashion - completely undefeated. It was the greatest Cosumarite team ever assembled, seeming destined for new heights. In the Ro16, the Dragons led the Urchins 3-0 late and celebrations had already begun. But Chalia Sajid scored a flurry of goals for an unlikely hat trick in final 15 minutes to force extra time. In the eventual shootout, we would completely choke, badly missing the target twice. Complete and utter shock. Many wandered if Cosumar would EVER be able to advance to the quarterfinals and exorcise these demons. It took nearly 30 years.

Most Goals: 104 - Sur Arora (WC 63-72)
Most Assists: 77 - Irvinn Rincon (WC 51-56)
Most Caps: 191 - Luke Crisalus (WC 52-60)

Team: The roster consists of 24 players, 22 of which are standard human. The remaining two players (midfielders Vareza Na'Noni and Frazan Va'Goshal) are of the Vloo people (species homo cosumarensis), a humanoid race native to Cosumar. Vloo are, on average, two inches taller than humans (which admittedly can come in handy on set pieces), and they must use different footwear due to their foot structure. Vloo have pale blue skin, two small black horns and thick black hair. And tails. They are distinguished by their surnames, with typically begin with prefixes such as Na' or Va'. There has always been at least one Vloo player in the squad, but never more than four. As per the Gethin Ramsey trademark, this squad features an emphasis on pressing high and forcing opposing midfields to make mistakes, then punishing with up-tempo precise passing. Cosumar features players in some of the top leagues around the world such as the Nepharim Premiership, LigAnaia and Apox National League.

Style Modifier: +1

Post-WC73 Ranking: 18 (29.23 KPB)

Formation: 4-4-2
A basic flat 4-4-2. This formation takes advantage of one of the biggest strengths of the Cosumarite player pool: our great wide midfielders. This could leave us exploitable in center of the pitch, but it is thought that the box-to-box work rate and defensive prowess of Vareza Na'Noni will cover us there and allow the more creative Aziz Senturk to get forward. The striker partnership of Engstrom and Newman will remain unchanged - with Newman as the large target and deadly finisher and Engstrom as the smaller, quicker and more creative second striker. The 4-4-2 can easily morph into a 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 to suit specific situations.

Kit

AWAY

Cosumar's kits were prepared for the team by Meski Soccer & Sports Store of Red Blackiland for World Cup 71 and have been worn ever since. The design has been applauded by for improving upon the already-brilliant WC70 design, while still staying true to the spirit of the beloved classic kits that served the team from World Cup 54 to 69. The home and away kits make heavy use of the national colours (blue, white, silver), new Fiefdom Soccer Federation logo, and the majestic Azure Dragon that Cosumar is famous for. The goalkeeper kit features hints of the royal family's colors: Gold and Green.

First-Choice Starting XI

Goalkeeper - Jakk Winterfyll - 28 - Image Exton F.C Image
Winterfyll is the most talented goalkeeper Cosumar has ever produced. He already has four World Cups under his belt and has started every match for Cosumar since World Cup 71. He dominated in the Cosumarite Harlighet Ligan with Crawford City FC early in his career, setting a record for clean sheets in a season. He has since become a mainstay in the Apox National League with Exton FC, blossoming into one of the world's elite goalkeepers. He is known for his almost psychic anticipation and springy reflexes. Off the pitch, Winterfyll plays several Cosumarite folk instruments like the vevlira and the flojagu and is a regular contributor to the annual "Sounds of Ancient Cosumar" compilation CD.

Left Back - Maynard Gorham - 28 - Image Papillio Mertagne Image
Gorham is a strong left back who is playing the best football of his career at the moment, emerging as a key player both internationally and in LigAnaia ever since being excluded from World Cup 71. Has always possessed above-average football intelligence. Excellent tackler. Isn't as dynamic going forward as other fullbacks on the team, but can still whip in a good cross when the moment comes. Spent the early years of his career with Dusk Athletic in Cosumar and Peswick Town in Jeckland. Scored his first goal for Cosumar in World Cup 72 Qualifying and nailed a crucial penalty in the WC73 Ro16. Off the pitch he is a dark, mysterious figure. Long black hair, which he ties up during matches. He also plays bass guitar for gothic band Mors Incarnati in his spare time.

Center Back - Alexander Soarhaven - 29 - Image FC Jansberg Image
FC Jansberg won LigAnaia Nord this year, and Cosumarites will tell you that it was all because they had a pair of big Cosumarite defenders starting in the middle. Soarhaven & Svensson. Taking advantage of their club chemistry, Ramsey will deploy that same FC Jansberg center back pairing for the National Team. Svensson, though younger, has been around the National Team since his teen years. For Soarhaven, however, his wild success with Jansberg this year represented a career breakthrough that will earn him his first international caps at age 29. That breakthrough is made all the more impressive by the fact that he was coming off a long-term injury that sidelined him for much of last year. Soarhaven played for Stoneshore United in Cosumar before moving to Semarland. His most obvious attribute is his strong stocky build, but he's also deceptively good in the air.

Center Back - Peter Svensson - 23 - Image FC Jansberg Image
Standout product of the Na'Malsille Mariners youth system. Moved to Semarluundik Premarligaen giant FC Jansberg at age 19 after shining in the Di Bradini Cup. He immediately impressed at Jansberg, earning a starting job and helping the club win the championship in his first season. His talent translated to the LigAnaia well too, being arguably one of the best defenders in the league this year. Svensson has impressive physical might, aerial ability on set-pieces, and sends a great pass forward. Earned his first cap towards the end of WC72 Qualifying and played a bit more in WC73. He had a rocky time in the AOCAF in his first tournament as a starter, but Ramsey isn't giving up on Svensson. Is being tipped as future Cosumarite captain. He is the nephew of Herrgly Svensson, a famous Cosumarite daredevil known for skydiving out of a space station, and little brother of Erak Svensson, a Congressman.

Right Back - Sheldon Serra - 27 - Zenit Attawapiskat Image
Serra has the distinction of being born and living the first eight years of his life on a space station of neutral nationality. After returning to Earth and living in the nation of Indigo Plains, Serra found his land legs surprisingly quickly and discovered a natural talent for football. But because Indigo Plains does not have professional football and he was technically not born anywhere, his international eligibility was somewhat muddled. Serra eventually attended university in Cosumar and fell in love with the country, becoming a citizen at age 20. He was the Best Defensive Player of Cosumar's collegiate league at age 21, and subsequently ventured overseas to Zenit Attawapiskat, where he has been ever since. He loves it in Quebec and has done well there for the last seven years, becoming a staple in the side as the club escalated in status. With Zenit, he has played in the old Quebecois league, Repechage 49 (where they won the title) and now LigAnaia. Though small in stature, Serra is a dynamic wingback and is very technically sound. He has long been a familiar face around the National Team set-up, but finally locked up a starting spot for the foreseeable future with a brilliant World Cup 73.

Left Midfielder - Mauricio Sigler - 25 - Real Atlantea Image
Sigler has lived up to the hype since being labeled teen prodigy, crossing the line from "exciting young talent with potential" to true stardom when he won the Golden Ball (tournament MVP) at Cup of Harmony 64. His technical wizardry is superb, reminiscent of countryman Anders Engstrom, and his pace is off the charts. In the Harlighet Ligan, he single-handedly propelled the newly-promoted Zakhoro Aces all the way to the top half in 1001 before being purchased by a club ranked in the UICA top ten. Taeshani titans Real Atlantea. He is currently in his fourth season there as a featured player, helping the club to their billionth consecutive Champions Cup appearance. Famously scored the game-winning penalty against Valanora in the World Cup 73 knockout stage, cementing his status as a Cosumarite legend forevermore.

Center Midfielder - Vareza Na'Noni - 32 - Image Avenida Principal Image
One of two Vloo players at World Cup 74, Na'Noni can play almost any position due to his understanding of the game, calmness with the ball and lethal combination of size, strength and pace. After a sustained period of success at FC Samotath in Cosumar, Na'Noni announced himself to the world with a brilliant in World Cup 69. His breakout performance caught the eye of Red Star Severny of Polar Islandstates, making him the first Cosumarite to play in a league ranked #1 in the world. Four years in the Polarian league facilitated even more improvement for the talented Vloo and he has been a constant fixture for the National Team ever since. Mostly as a box-to-box midfielder, but also as a #6 and fullback. He has spent the last couple years in Farfadillis playing for Avenida Principal since he couldn't any longer take the frigid weather in Severny. Na'Noni is known for his eye-popping tattoos, including detailed patterns of constellations across his arms, a roaring dragon on his neck, and an elaborate sunset on his forehead.

Center Midfielder - Aziz Senturk - 27 - Image Maximum Rovers Image
Senturk's evolution over the past three years has been exhilarating to watch. He used to be a frustrating player to follow, one of those guys who would show flashes of brilliance every now and then but could never find it within himself consistently. But since taking a risky move to Nephara, Senturk has figured things out. It took a tough learning experience at South Laithland to get there, but he seems to now be at the right spot at Maximum Rovers and has gradually established himself as a top player for the club. He has always had all the right ingredients to be a dominant force...pace, technical prowess, craftiness, shooting. The difference is that now they come together on a weekly basis. Ramsey has rewarded his success at Maximum Rovers with a chance at starter's minutes here in Qualifying. He showed well as a sub in World Cup 73, scoring four goals off the bench. Senturk is a sly, crafty figure in midfield. Never afraid to take on anyone, try out an unorthodox bit of skill or launch a long-rage shot - his specialty.

Right Midfielder - Ole Öhman - 30 - Image Sabrefell Athletic Image
One of the most respected Cosumarite players around the world right now thanks to his sustained success with Sabrefell Athletic for several years. He has helped the Nepharim side win their league, the Globe Cup, and the Esportivan championship. A skilled winger, Ole can do it all - score, square that perfect ball back to the middle, cross, and he is equally good with both feet. That last part is huge as it allows Ramsey to employ him on the left or right. Made his debut as a promising young reserve in World Cup 69, but he fell out of Farris Crowley's plans after accepting a lucrative contract to play his club ball in Florgania (a vastly inferior league). Returned to the fold in World Cup 71 after resurfacing in a big way as Debutant Of The Year in the Nepharim Premiership. He has reached his peak there and has stated his desire to stay at Sabrefell long-term. He was pretty much the only Cosumarite who consistently looked good in the dreary WC72 Qualifying, leading the team with 5 goals and also notching an assist. Scored 8 goals in World Cup 73. His only downside is that he doesn't have the pace required of a truly world-class winger.

Striker - Anders Engström - 30 - CAPTAIN - Image Crisisbless Image
A Cosumarite superstar in his prime who is the best all-around player on the team. Engström (AKA Captain Andy) is the poster-boy for Cosumarite football, playing most of his career at domestic club Mallox FC before joining up with Crisisbless. Here he will occupy the "free-roaming second striker" role of the 4-4-2 slightly behind Newman, being the nimbler, more creative player of the two. Engström was voted Harlighet Ligan MVP multiple times (including four years ago, when he delivered Mallox their fourth championship) and won three Golden Boots with four consecutive 20+ goal seasons. Engström is the most technically skilled player on the team (though now rivaled by Sigler) and will be vital in setting up goal-scoring chances for others when he's not clinically burying shots himself. Though small in stature (5"8), his ball control and acceleration are of the rarest variety. Pundits use to criticize him for being unwilling to challenge himself in a foreign league, but has silenced the critics by doing quite well in Nephara. 12 goals and 9 assists in World Cup 73. Was named the 17th-best player in the world by one media outlet during that Cup. First choice to take penalties.

Striker - Ace Newman - 29 - Image Urbanista Image
Ace Newman was a star for Cassandra City in his early 20s, winning the club its first Harlighet Ligan championship. He exploded into worldwide prominence with some dominant performances in WC 70 Qualifying. As the starting right-winger, Newman surprised everyone by scoring 10 goals and also recording 6 assists. Could've been a candidate for Best Young Player of the tournament. In World Cup 71, he transitioned to fill his more natural central role up top and scored 7 goals despite missing four games with suspension. Had a monstrous 17-goal World Cup 73 cycle, including being one of the leading scorers of the World Cup group stage. Best on the team at scoring with his head thanks to his leaping ability and height, but his best attribute is his strength. He frequently will fire off powerful shots despite defenders draped all over him. He just shrugs them off. Impressive pace too. His job is to leverage these things to put the ball in the back of the net, and he is laser-focused on that task. He does it at the highest level in his club career, scoring double-digit goals for Urbanista in the ANL in recent seasons.

The Rest of the Squad

GK - Esteban Hernandez - 25 - Mierton Manatees Image
Morponte Fief has a legendary youth academy, and Hernandez might just be the most extraordinary talent they've ever produced. This dude's frame is massive: 6"7, broad shoulders, long arms, enormous hands. Most people that size don't have the coordination to walk and chew gum at the same time, let alone take on Audioslavian strikers. But Hernandez is one of those rare exceptions. He was considered too raw to get any serious time at World Cup 71 and 72, but that has changed. He carried Morponte Fief to a record 6th-place finish in 1001 and won U21 Player of the Year, even placing in the top five in MVP voting, before securing a move to Mierton Manatees, one of the better teams from the Taeshani Premier League. He has had his best season there this season in his third year there, but he still hasn't come close to putting any pressure on Winterfyll for that #1 spot. Fun tidbit: he nearly gave up on his professional soccer career at age 18 to go to culinary school instead.

LB - Senter Senterekoesima - 25 - Rozelle United Image
Pacey young wingback who was a recent standout of Cosumar's collegiate league, where his technical ability and physical fitness were miles beyond the competition. After graduating with a degree in Astrophysics from Stoneshore College, he made the jump straight to Brenecia with Saint Alexander of the A-League. Though the club was relegated in his first season, he did well enough to be picked up by Rozelle United, a club that loves to hoard Cosumarites these days. Gethin Ramsey has spoken very highly of Senterekoesima ever since he squeaked into the WC 73 roster, bumping the more experienced Jukka Lindroos. The player becoming dubbed "Senter-squared" only made three sub appearances in the last World Cup Qualifying, but he might get more significant minutes this time after putting in a couple good shifts in the AOCAF.

LB/CB - Arndu Farsgaard - 35 - Hastmeade Diamente Image
Dependable and versatile veteran defender who plays younger than his age. Was Cosumar's best defender in World Cups 71 and 72. Originally a hockey player with no interest in a "sissy sport" like soccer, he didn't even discover his talent for the game until age 24, after failing in his hockey career. He took to the sport quickly, rapidly moving up the ranks of the Cosumarite leagues after starting with a local semi-professional team. By the time he was 27, he was starting at center back for Sekundar Ligan regulars Keenan Athletic. At age 28, he got snatched up by famous Audioslavian club Cazadores Cathair and made a big impact in LigAnaia, thrusting him onto the radar of the National Team. After seven years in the national team, he has become a fan favorite and respected veteran presence. Just ten years ago, he was on the street after being cut from a minor league hockey team. Now he is playing for freaking Hastmeade Diamente. Crazy. He's not dominant in the air, but he has a propensity for always winning the fight for position.

CB - Jacob Pandan - 31 - Trothwands Evolution Image
A fairly standard but extremely reliable defender who has cemented himself in LigAnaia in recent years after a fruitful tenure at Cassandra City, one of Cosumar's top clubs. Can be made to look a bit slow on his feet by the most athletically gifted of opponents, but usually makes up for it with his effort and intelligence. Very savvy with his positioning and timing in the tackle. Not a giant, but is of a sturdy build and plays a great ball out of the back. He has been a fringe National Team player in and out of camps over the last several years, but World Cup 73 was his first time in a major tournament. He was an unlikely hero in the Round of 16 win, scoring a spectacular set-piece volley late on to take a 3-2 lead.

RB - Tomasso Tenebrosa - 26 - Image Ramusok United Image
Tomasso is one of the most affable people you will ever meet, never losing his cool and constantly encouraging his teammates with smiles. He is a dynamic young wingback who loves to press forward with pace, but Ramsey will need to teach him how to pick his spots because he has gotten burned in the back in the past as a result. Has some good skill with the ball and plays a nice cross, so many think he could play as a RM if needed. Came up through the FC Kaldukosic youth system and was a regular for Cosumar U18 and U21. Completed a big-money move to Ramusok United a few years ago and helped the Blues win their second title in his first season and had a good season again this year. Tenebrosa did well as the first-choice RB in World Cup 72, especially in the Cup of Harmony, but has been relegated back to more of a spot role since the arrival of Gethin Ramsey, who favors Sheldon Serra.

DM - Vyacheslav Kolen - 30 - FC Kolberg Image
When Ramsey needs to change the formation to include a disruptive ball-winner in the midfield, he will call on Kolen. The former AC Holmenkollen man is a savvy defender, who simply knows how to play the game. Or, at times, work the game to his advantage. He also has a soft passing touch that many defensive midfielders lack. Had a career year with FC Kolberg this year following the club's move up to LigAnaia, including a blasted Goal of the Season candidate from beyond the box. His little brother, Hans Henrik Kolen, is an Olympic swimmer for Cosumar who competed in the Electrum games earlier this year.

LM - Matt Branch - 23 - Image FC Jansberg Image
The surprise breakout star of Cosumar's DBC35-winning U21 squad. Despite not getting regular minutes with Sporting Matrolvik, he was magnificent on the international stage - racking up several goals and assists in the tournament. FC Jansberg came calling over the transfer window, offering LigAnaia prestige and the playing time he needs to further his development. Sure enough, he ripped it up in his first season with Jansberg, growing by leaps and bounds as the year wore on and they took hold of the title. Shows excellent technical ability, leadership potential, and ability to score from distance. Who knows how high this guy's ceiling is? He is stuck behind Sigler right now, but his future is bright.

CM - Tiffany Elam - 22 - Guingamp Image
The only female on the roster. At age 18, Elam turned down the #1 medical school in Cosumar to pursue her soccer career, moving to Kernansquillec to join Project X. She was one of the program's first standouts, immediately being offered a contract upon graduation to join Guingamp, one of Kernansquillec's biggest clubs. She has only been there a couple years but already become one of their best players. She started the last two Di Bradini Cups, guiding Cosumar to a title at 20 and a Round of 16 exit as captain at 21. With her youth career completely behind her, Elam will join up with the senior team as she did for WC73 Qualifying (during which she made 5 sub appearance). Elam's best attributes are her pace and incredible work rate. She is a true workhorse in midfield, covering more ground box-to-box than anyone else in every match. She's a good passer who can to venture forward, but she relishes the defensive work most and goes about it with real steel.

CM - Darwyn Lucassen - 32 - North Hall Image
Lucassen made his name in Buyan, where he emerged as one of the most important players for Garbarnia Hoyersko in the Top Division at age 27. There wasn't a whole lot to work with when he arrived from Na'Malsille Mariners, but he quickly earned the admiration of Buyanese peers, fans and media. A late-career blossomer for sure. Was subsequently granted his first senior caps in World Cup 72 - and as a starter! Scored or assisted on 12 goals in the World Cup 73 cycle. Not the most technical with the ball, but has a cool head and opportunistic creativity in the attack. Sends a great final ball through. Adaptable and jovial. The kind of guy loved by both coaches and teammates. After the Buyanese league suddenly ceased operations, he was forced to scramble to find a new club and eventually landed in LigAnaia with Century Mertagne. He never really settled in his short stint there and has since joined up with North Hall in the A-League. His parents are both people of science, his dad an astronaut and his mom a marine biologist, so his first name was an homage to pioneering scientist Charles Darwin. Lucassen himself has a deep love for geology - minerals in particular.

RM - Frazan Va'Goshal - 28 - Galatica Image
The second Vloo member of the team, Va'Goshal is a productive and above-average winger. He can get the job done against any opponent, though he has never quite been outstanding for Cosumar. Established himself as a young star at FC Kaldukosic then cashed-in in the Pasargan SuperLiga. He has been solid all five years at Galatica, but had a career year last season and cracked the SuperLiga Season's Best XI. His great year has earned him a look with the National Team again, from which he had been freezed out ever since his lackluster WC 71 and 72 showings. Though traditionally better for club than country, Va'Goshal is worth calling up for his potential as a late impact sub, blazing down the flanks with pace. He is not a great shot-taker, but he excels at creating angles and windows of space with the ball. He is a true playmaker in this respect, clinical in his manipulation of defenses. He has pledged to donate any earnings in World Cup 74 to Operation Goodness, a secular charity based in Kaldukosic.

AM - Augen Wittevrongel - 25 - Image Barbury Town Image
Wittevrongel emerged as one of Cosumar's youth stars after developing handsomely at Star United States youth club C.D. Spikers. After graduating from their program, he capitalized on his Di Bradini Cup success to force a move to "the most prestigious club that would have him" ... which ended up being Barbury Town. Not a bad place to establish oneself at all. Wittevrongel, who has been labeled as arrogant by some, was confident he could earn his way into regular minutes anywhere. Sure enough, he has shown well for himself so far in Apox. After a number of promising spot appearances over the past two years, he finally cracked the regular starting line-up for Barbury Town this season. Gethin Ramsey seems to trust him, especially after Wittevrongel scored a couple late goals in World Cup 73. Attacks the goal with pace, vision and aggression, but needs to better learn when to pass. He's on the thin side and can get forced around too easily against more physical opponents. When formation change necessitates a designated attacking midfield playmaker to come in behind the striker(s), it will be Wittevrongel's time to shine.

ST - Tevin Lilley - 26 - Rozelle Image
Lilley was Cosumar's top striker at the U23 (Olympics) and U21 levels, and has seamlessly transitioned into a productive member of the senior National Team. He was one of the top ten scorers in the Harlighet Ligan at only 20 years old, with 17 goals for Cassandra City (though he was clearly unhappy that teammate Ace Newman still had more). His elite pace nearly earned him a spot on the World Cup 70 squad, but he was one of the last cuts. His feel for the game, the precision of his touch in the crucial moments, wasn't quite where it needed to be. His fiery competitiveness often spilled over into recklessness. He could rely on his physical gifts to dominate domestically, but Farris Crowley knew he would run into a brick wall in the World Cup. Lilley needed to play abroad to continue his development. Though he didn't put up the gaudy numbers in his four years in Taeshan (with Blacklake Blues) that he did in Cosumar, Lilley has become a much more complete player according to coaches. He now has that quiet confidence and poise that can only come with experience. He's still in the shadow of Ace Newman like he was at Cassandra City, but he has embraced his role as a super-sub for Cosumar this time and will be the first striker off the bench. Rozelle, arguably one of the best clubs in Brenecia, purchased him over the recent transfer window. Expectations for him in the A-League were high, but he exceeded them, winning the Golden Boot in his first season.

ST - Belarmin Worsaw - 26 - Image Wrexton F.C. Image
The ex-Borderlandian striker has been prolific in Cosumarite leagues for years. He signed with Zakhoro Aces as a youth prospect and scored 16 goals as a teenager. After Aces were relegated, he had a 30-goal season in the Sekundar Ligan at age 20. Back in the Harlighet Ligan again, he and fellow young star Mauricio Sigler guided them to a record 9th-place finish. He then left for Eastweald, clearly meant for bigger things, and has won the Golden Boot there both of the last two years. In the two 2nd-place campaigns, he has scored a combined 48 goals in 68 matches. To fans of Cosumarite soccer, it feels like Worsaw has been around forever, but he's still only 26. The collapse of the Western Borderlands government freed up his international eligibility, and after a long process, he finally became a Cosumarite citizen prior to World Cup 73. All of a sudden, social media was a lit ablaze with people suddenly realizing what this meant for the Dragons, begging Gethin Ramsey to bring him in for World Cup 73. Which he did. And Worsaw showed extremely well, scoring 5 goals in 7 substitute appearances. Now here we are, with the former Western Borderlands World Cup player suiting up for a different (and quite superior) nation once again. But he can't get comfortable with such a deep striker pool eyeing his spot enviously. Players such as Coden Hari (Cranequin Wanderers), Linden Lucassen (Kurtz Herritik) and Kirum Ingolfsson (Rozelle United) are all vying for one of those all-too-few striker spots as well.

Staff

Manager: Gethin Ramsey Image
As RPed here, Farris Crowley was removed from his post as head coach of Cosumar after 38 years. The man who has replaced him is none other than...Gethin Ramsey. The Nepharim icon is probably one of the very few men who could immediately step into Crowley's shoes and own the position. The 71-year-old is exceedingly accomplished on both the international and domestic stages. He led Nephara to their first World Cup Finals (67) and successfully qualified with The Licentian Isles every year there. You can now add his Cup of Harmony triumph in his Cosumar debut to the list. In the Nepharim Premiership, he made his name as a club legend at Chenoworth Rovers and eventually coached powerhouse AFC Treason to the title. Oft considered the best manager Nephara has ever produced, Ramsey's hire has been a massive hit with fans, players and media alike. His track record of navigating World Cup Qualifying, where Cosumar has struggled for the past two decades, is impeccable. With a Cup of Harmony trophy already delivered and now a Quarterfinals run, I'd say he's already doing the same here. The new gaffer is best known for his ability to motivate players. He knows how to speak to them, how to identify with them - and they feed off his unwavering confidence. His harsh disciplinary style and frequent hairdryer treatments is a contrast to the patient, old-sage-mentor approach of Farris "Master Miyagi" Crowley. Ramsey brings with him his trusty tactical expert, Marlena Scamander, from AFC Treason.

Assistant Manager: Kennedy Kopenhaver Image
World Cup 72 was Kopenhaver's third as Assistant Manager since the sacking of Truda Jotunnoj (someone had to be the scapegoat for the team's failures and it wasn't going to be Crowley). Kopenhaver, 56, was once a terrific center back for the Cosumar National Team in World Cups 55-57, back when Crowley was establishing his legacy. He was infamous in Cosumar for being one of the most passionate and fiery players ever to step on a pitch. He would stop at nothing to win, even if it meant angrily telling his teammates what's what or getting himself a card. After retiring, Kopenhaver attempted a broadcasting career but was not happy. It was too far removed from the action! He then took to coaching, and spent six years as an assistant to Alvin Burnsides, Manager of Mallox FC, the most historically successful club in the Cosumarite Harlighet Ligan. After being skipped over for the managerial vacancy at Miners 47 in Apox, he jumped on the chance to work for his former mentor Farris Crowley with the National Team. Kopenhaver should bring a lot of passion and youthful energy to a team that Crowley and Jotunnoj hadn't been able to provide. He is a rare man - physically imposing yet keenly intelligent. Deceptively clever and excels at game strategy. Really knows how to motivate players.

Strategic Advisor: Marlena Scamander

Goalkeepers Coach: Anders Videfors

Defenders Coach: Artis Thomas

Midfielders Coach: Irvinn Rincon

Forwards Coach: Guiseke Seto

Head Trainer: Yvette Carson

Hedestadt National Football Team
Image

Nation Name: The Free Dutchy of Hedestadt
Three Letter Nation Code: HDS
Home Stadium: Hertugens Stadion (10,000 capacity) in Hedestadt, Hedesøy Province
Team Name: Svart og Hviter (Black and Whites)
Team Colors: Black and White
Style Modifier: +1
Formation: 3-4-3 (sometimes 4-3-3 or 3-5-2)

Background:

Because football ranks third in popularity in the Free Dutchy of Hedestad, behind hockey and rugby, Hedestadt does not have a professional football league, and only one semi-professional/amateur league of 15 teams. Thus there was little demand for a national football team. The Hedestadt National Football Team was only founded in 2013, as a collaboration between a number of semi-pro Hedestadt footballers and coaches and Alf Smør von Hede, a lifelong football enthusiast and cousin to Duke Aleksander Smør von Hede. Alf Smør von Hede was able to use his influence and connections as a member of the royal family to secure funding for a Hedestadt National Football Union, a formal governing body for association football in Hedestadt, as well as a National Team. Tryouts were held in August and September 2013 for the first-ever National Team, and Tryggve Pedersen (of FC Chicoutimi) was named head coach under the management of Alf Smør von Hede. In 2014, the National Team (dubbed the Black and Whites for their distinctive uniform) played their first international friendly match, loosing 2-1 against Canada in Ontario. The team has since played several other friendly matches against the USA, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, with an overall 1-2-4 record (defeating the Dominican Republic in 2015, and drawing against the USA in 2015 and Canada in 2016). The Hedestadt National Team is also currently participating in the 2016 RnRP Football Tournament, where it has performed reasonably well with a 1-0-1 record thus far in the tournament. This is the first attempt at World Cup Qualifications for the Hedestadt National Team.

Roster:

Manager - Alf Smør von Hede
Head Coach - Tryggve Pedersen
Goalkeeping Coach - Klaus Jakobsen

Starting 11:

Manager
Mikael Mannisenmäki Image
Age: 45
After several domestic and international successes with Alianza FC of San Jose Guayabal, he was targeted by the VSC to replace the outgoing manager given his similar tactics to most Vanorian outfits. With two cycles to work with, it is expected of the Polarian to bring the squad back into the latter rounds of the World Cup consistently as well as continued success in the AOCAF. A tactical mind with a high preference for offensive displays and a keen sense of rivalry, he should adapt well into Vanorian sporting culture and lead the side to greatness.

Assistant Manager
Minthârtar Nelésian
Age: 984
A young manager who is being groomed underneath the Polarian, he is expected to be more of a go between the manager and the players than to act in any sort of tactical manner. He is said to be a rather strict trainer though and the players might have such discipline drilled into them if the rumors are to be true about how he handles those training sessions, which may translate to a better focus come the matchdays.

Keeper

1 Aediron Galadirdren, Ibini FC
Age - 683
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 174 lbs
Galadirdren looks to be the long term solution for the Marauders in net after several stellar seasons in the domestic scene with Ibini FC. While not loud and "in control" of his box, the keeper is very good when the opposition has a breakaway, as well as some amazing reflexes. His best attribute though is his near perfect position, always seeming to know where the opposition is going to place their shots or crosses.

Defenders

2 Morlaithan Aldamiel, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 696
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 162 lbs
A tough and quiet sort at the back, more physical than your usual Vanorian centerback thanks to the years that he has played in Audioslavia. More of a stay at home defender than the rest of the backline and more prone the occasional card due to the more physical nature.

3 Rainyardil Toraandal, Mar Sara FC
Age - 655
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 168 lbs
Toraandal is deceptively fast and agile for a person of his size and also very keen to get in on the attack during prolonged spells in the opponents third. With his size and pure athletic ability, he has a knack for getting open in the box and heading home his fair share of goals, though it is his stern defending that is the reason that he was put on to the starting eleven.

4 Revhil Lardireil, Hondo FC
Age - 654
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Like Toraandal, Lardireil is used to getting into the attack, having spent the majority of his career at Hondo with their attacking flavor. However he has the speed of a cheetah and the strength of an elephant, most likely the most versatile of the three defenders that the side uses.

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, 1830 Cathair Image
Age: 759
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than five countries clubs. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Caeltimyonan Haerear, Mar Sara FC
Age - 614
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 163 lbs
Coming from Mar Sara you would expect Haerear to be more of an attacking option, yet the midfielder is more of a box to box playmaker than the attacking midfielders usually coming from the Flames. Not overly fast or physical but Haerear has a motor that never quits, never giving up on a play or a game despite how dire the situation may be.

10 Laborious Hawk, Dwile Warriors Image
Age - 723
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

8 Ilglerdiriel Lithvathar, Raynor City United
Age - 729
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 149 lbs
Lithvathar is much like va Drake, a floater who is dynamic in attack but with enough speed and sense of the pitch to make up on any sort of defensive lapse. Yet unlike her flankmate, she is not nearly as skilled, but do not let that fool you, in a moment of magic she can undress an entire backline and set up more prolific scorers with easy chances.

7 Faeron Soldarian, 1830 Cathair Image
Age - 637
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 512
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco continues to lead the line of the attack, being the tip of the spear that is the Marauders offensive movement. By now most teams know of the striker's pace and near laser guided shot, however the striker still somehow finds ways to bring in the goals.

11 Galasgoldas Tathtauré, Myrmidon Image
Age - 594
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 157 lbs
A more finesse striker than what Fresco is used to being paired with, Tathtauré has the speed to run past opponents with plenty of dribbling skill to work around multiple defenders. While not as strong as Celetholtinu was, Galasgoldas can still play a hold up role in a pinch.

Subs
13 GK Legoion Taltauré, age 679, Char Sara FC
20 GK Belltarion Nartalhûn, age 553, AC Valanari
15 CB Bronlanda Culiththir, age 597, Char Sara FC (F)
16 CB Urúvdion Shatholryl, age 662, Wexax United

.Football in Arcantova.
Ever since the arrival of Europeans onto the Arcantovan mainland, football has been a national pastime. Football games were known for bringing people together but, sometimes, also tearing them apart.
Many of the major clubs of today were formed in the nineteenth century but rarely competed against each other due to long distance traveling. It wasn't until 1932 that the clubs met in Adapolf and formed the Arcantovan Alpha League. The Alpha League competes annually for the Zenith Cup which is the highest football championship in the kingdom.

With few changes in the front office came few changes on the roster. Some fear that this could lead to the same results as their last outing at the World Cup, with only two changes to the roster. Director Dan Hart had faith in the current roster thanks to a whole World Cup that was skipped for training purposes. He is quoted as saying "Missing the 73rd Cup was the best thing for us, as it allowed the team to build on field chemistry during the offseason."
...and so, The King's On will march onto the field again, aiming for the ultimate prize in football...a World Cup.

.Introduction.
King Darby II, before his death, began putting together a board to bring together the best players in his kingdom to play on the international scene. This was a huge step for the nation which is well known for its isolationist policies. A few people disagreed with the idea, but many couldn't wait to see the men of their football clubs on the world scene.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

After coming so close to qualifying for the World Cup for the first time just two years ago, and after an emotionally draining game against Barunia in the Cup of Harmony, the Abanhfleft women's national football team is back to build upon the success of their male counterparts, who finally made it to the group stage of the World Cup itself and managed to even get an unexpected third place, stealing vital points from the likes of Equestrian States and Kandorith. Even then, only time will tell if they can take advantage of their opportunity...

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 3-4-3 (or 3-4-1-2, depending on how you want to see it)
Manager: Ranulph Bustamante (47 y/o, Abanhfleft)

STARTERS
GK: Victoria CARTER 32 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image, captain
Vicky is the ever-dependable skipper of the Lady Revolutionaries. She is genuinely proving herself to being a world-class keeper, and her saves during World Cup 72 qualifying almost allowed Abanhfleft to advance to the World Cup proper that year, and only a slump of form in the second half of the qualifiers prevented the team from achieving that goal. She does tend to have a temper which is bound to flare up if she or the whole team is frustrated, as evidenced by her slap at the Sameban captain during said qualifiers. Overall, though, while she may not be the most acrobatic or sensational of keepers to watch, the fact that she is still between the sticks for Abanhfleft means that she's got quality. World-class quality, even.

LB: Jordana VALENTINE 27 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image
Abanhfleft's women's football team managed to nearly qualify for the World Cup with only three defenders, and the fact that these three defenders are able to cover the large amount of space between and around them has made said defense world-renowned. Dana has a powerful engine to accompany her unusually long strides, and her measured yet high-tempo runs allow her to cover said large spaces even for her small stature, and is excellent at both attacking and defending set pieces. However, she is a confidence player, meaning a few bad games and her form could dip below the standard, as became noticeable in Abanhfleft's last few games in World Cup 72 qualifiers following her scoring an own goal for New Wolfopolis.

CB: Dawn JACKSON 28 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
A single center back is rare to find in international football these days, and the fact that Dawn is able to do it day in and day out for both the national team and Markovsky Ladies is a testament to her skills. Few will begrudge her her moments for both club and country, and sometimes, when the going gets tough, she can be the last line of defense at one end and a scoring threat at the other just seconds later. If she's the last player between the opposition and the keeper, she will not hesitate to tackle. It's put a lot of yellow cards and a few red cards on her career, but who can blame the daughter of the legendary defender MacArthur "Mac" Jackson for inheriting his defensive style?

RB: Claire OSGOOD 28 y/o, Blue Coast 1981 Image (Port Christopher)
Claire is one of the few Fleftic players playing in a foreign league that is not the Pridnestrovian Super League, the Oontaz National League or the Copper Cuprum First Division, and she is also the first Fleftic to move to another team that is not playing within Abanhfleft's sphere of influence. Like Dana Valentine on the other side of the pitch, Claire appears tireless as she runs all over the field, covering the flanks and sometimes even acting as a wingback if the situation demands. She has a mean long shot and also sometimes can act as a poacher for set pieces such as corners. She was sold by Sarvusdalamoive Ladies to Blue Coast 1981 in Port Christopher for a club record fee of NS$22m.

LM: Lea CHOI 24 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image
A good showing from Lea in Abanhfleft's first ever Di Bradini campaign left a good impression on Kasper Molak, and he immediately promoted her to the senior team in place of Tamika Keenings, who retired from international football soon after the conclusion of DBC 31. The half-Korean midfielder is one of the taller players on the starting eleven in comparison to the likes of Bella Maynard and Jordana Valentine. She is definitely the one with the most stamina, as her distance-covered graphics in many league, cup and national games shows how much energy she has in her lithe body. Also, she's scored a disproportionate amount of headers and volleys for someone who's supposed to be patrolling the pitch in front of the defense. After some time playing for Ladies' Third Division side Tefel Ladies, she was picked up by Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies for NS$10.5m.

RM: Bella MAYNARD 31 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Bella was one of the surprise players for Abanhfleft in the World Cup 72 qualifiers, revealing herself to be much more than just a box-to-box midfielder. Turns out that she actually has a wicked good free kick and long range shot, and is also a good poacher of both goals and set pieces, especially when she is in the box during goal scrambles. There are often times, though, that she is the last line of defense before the actual defenders themselves, and when she's not too heavily involved in the attack during these times, count on her to make a critical tackle to stop the opponents' momentum and halt their attack on its tracks. Still, she can be caught unawares, especially by a very good and very quick counterattacking side.

LW: Adelaide SINGH 27 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Addie is the pacier half of Abanhfleft's main winger pairing, and one might remember that she was already a member of Riuwiee State University's track and field program as a sprinter before joining her friends in the university's football team. A wise choice, both for her and for Riuwiee State, it turned out, as she was instrumental to leading the university to their first (and to date only) Riuwiee Provincial Football Association Challenge Cup. She was signed by Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies as soon as she graduated and went pro, and her background as a sprinter made her one of the fastest players of the team, if not the Ladies' Premier League itself. She also has good crossing ability, and she has the confidence and finishing to go one-on-one on the keeper if need be.

RW: Lillian PRESCOTT 27 y/o, Riuwiee United Women Image
Lilly is the stronger half of Abanhfleft's main winger pairing, complimenting and contrasting Addie Singh's pace with her rock-solid presence. Her hold-up play and ball control skills have made her an indispensable part of all the teams that she's played for in her career, from Riuwiee State University to Admiral Porcusces Ladies to her new club Riuwiee United Women, who signed her from the Admirals for NS$9.6m as part of the club's new initiative to emulate the men's team in terms of success on the pitch. It was obvious that the decision to make her a first-team player for the national team was a no-brainer, although she did struggle to find her rhythm until her old teammates from Riuwiee State also received international call-ups, especially her wing partner Addie. With the two of them on the wings, Abanhfleft has attacking danger everywhere on the pitch.

CAM: Allison TORRES 27 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Ladies Image
Sonny started off as a central attacking midfielder during her Riuwiee State University days, but her tendency to go forward and mingle with the dedicated forwards has seen her develop into a false nine under Xemlice Rovers' old gaffer George Westing. Her ball distribution skills, also developed under the same manager, have allowed her to become both an attacking threat up front and a vital link-up cog in the middle. Last year, she was snapped up by Sporting Ceneisis Ladies for NS$50m, making her the most expensive female Fleftic football player ever. However, as with many other big money signings by Ceneisis, it took her nearly half a season before she managed to establish a good tandem with her striker partner and fellow new signing by Ceneisis, Svenja Volksson of Armeia. For the national team, Sonny is a credible goalscoring threat, and her forward forays have allowed her to score her fair share of goals.

CF: Alexandra ROUSSEAU 27 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
The height difference between Alex and Chelsea Stuart may be small (just about half an inch or so) but it's enough to make her into the smaller and speedier half of Abanhfleft's forward pairing, even though she's about a few pounds heavier than Chelsea (but don't tell her that). She doesn't accelerate as quickly as other "pacy" forwards, but once she gets going, she goes, and fast. Addie Singh and Lea Choi may be the only ones who could claim to be faster than Alex when she's at full speed, but sometimes a turtle can seem faster when she's "revving up". She can play as lone striker if need be, and indeed played that role for Rosenpfelblatz before the emergence of Karen Villegas, but she truly works best with a strike partner, especially a ridiculously strong (for her build) and physical hold-up expert like Chelsea.

CF: Chelsea STUART 27 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image vice-captain
Chelsea has become the face of both Arsenal Ladies and the Fleftic women's football team. Once she scored that hat-trick against Riuwiee United's U-21s that paved the way for Riuwiee State University's comeback victory and their first and only Riuwiee Provincial FA Cup, the goalscoring floodgates have opened up for her for both club and country. She has already gone five seasons scoring twenty goals or more in the Ladies' Premier League, winning the Golden Boot in three of those five seasons. Her hold-up play is simply world-class, and she can score from anywhere on the field, sometimes at will. Her only weakness is that she's a little timid when it comes to going forward, and that she is easily frustrated if she doesn't score from an easy chance.

RESERVES
GK: Yannie REDBORNE 32 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
Some would say that Yannie's time between the sticks for the Democratic Republic had been a long time coming. But with Vicky Carter just about starting the reach the peak of her career, it did seem like a long shot for Yannie to be getting some playing time for Abanhfleft. But with Kasper Molak's regular goalie deputies Stephanie Bryan still out from a hyper-extended elbow and Yelena Valinovskaya trying to pick up match fitness after a hamstring pull, Yannie will finally get to warm the bench in an international competition for the national team. And for those few questioning her inclusion into the World Cup squad, surely her being the number one for Rosenpfelblatz Ladies counts for something, right?

GK: Yelena VALINOVSKAYA 28 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Yelena is the tallest keeper and the player on the national team, full stop. She sat out the majority of last season after going under the knife for a horror training camp injury. She finally returned to playing international football by playing in a friendly against Pridnestrovia, but ended up pulling her hamstring in the same game, sidelining her once again. Yelena is still on the road to recovery once again, but seeing as Molak trusts her between the sticks more than any other available female Fleftic keeper, she still has a spot in the final roster, but she will be spending the time watching the game from the sidelines.

DEF: Amanda WARREN 26 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image
Amanda is definitely one of the surprise packages of the women's national team's first foray in the World Cup qualifiers as a team. Although this wouldn't come as a surprise for followers of Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies, who know of Godric Wexler's ability to produce world-class players from his team's youth academies. Although obviously she's not yet as world class as Gooners would like people to believe, the potential is there, and regular minutes for both club and country will only help to develop her talent.

DEF: Miriam HANNIBAL 28 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women Image
Don't let her surname fool you. While she may have the tenacity and patience of a serial killer when it comes to defending, making tackles and chasing loose balls, personally she's a relatable woman who is fun to hang around with, although only her friends are supposed to know that. She's the kind of player that opposing fans love to hate, and Fleftic football fans love it that opposing fans love to hate her. Miriam can play on all sides of the defense, but she prefers the center back position, which she plays to great effect at Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women.

DEF: Tonya HEATON 30 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women Image
Tonya is a proper left back who could probably get into the starting eleven of any other team out there, and probably even this team, if only the likes of Claire Osgood and/or Dana Valentine were not available or injured or weren't actually playing football at all. Also, she's one of the few truly ambidextrous football players in the country, which is why she could play in either full back position if something should ever happen to the likes of Dana and Claire and maybe even Amanda.

MID: Merida VANCE 23 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
At just the tender age of 23, Merida has turned herself from a lanky and clumsy girl straight out of the academy with a future as a lower-league player into a vital piece of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies' midfield puzzle, helping the Lady Foresters to both the Ladies' Premier League title and the Women's SFA Cup in the 2014-15 season. Now, two years later, she's still vital to the team then as she is now, and she will serve as a capable backup for her teammate Bella Maynard for both the Emperor's Cup, World Cup qualifiers, and if they make it, the World Cup itself.

MID: Raisa KOROVINA 32 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Who can forget Raisa Korovina, the midfielder from Markovsky who scored a vital penalty for the Lady Foresters to get all three points and pip the title from their Mezaladbyi rivals, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies? Or how about that wonderfully taken free kick to give Abanhfleft victory over the Pridnestrovian women's football team in the Coalition Cup? Raisa is already a legend at Markovsky, and she's well on her way to being what she wanted the most, a one-club woman, after signing a huge contract extension reported to keep her in Markovsky for the next five years. This dedication of hers to the sport is just one of the reasons why she's on the national team. She is the complete midfielder, with the right mix of offensive and defensive qualities, and while her stamina isn't as it used to be, Raisa is still capable of making an impact from the bench.

MID: Rachel AZUL 26 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image
It's not the Fleftic women's team if it doesn't have two of the most important things in the Fleftic footballing philosophy: wingers and strikers. The starting winger pairing of Addie Singh and Lilly Prescott are backed up by the winger pairing of Rachel Azul and Cecilia Johnson. Rachel is the taller and stronger half of their pairing, and while she's not as fast as Addie and her hold-up play isn't as good as Lilly's, she's still good for peppering the box with crosses for other players to head or volley into the net to close out games, and her height also makes her a threat on the set piece. Even at 26, there's still a lot of potential on tap for her, as evidenced by her move to Arsenal from the Antslinngs Islands alongside CeCe for the princely sum of NS$20m.

MID: Cecilia JOHNSON 26 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image
Looking at Rachel and CeCe, it's obvious to anyone who does what when they're starting. What she doesn't have in terms of height and strength, CeCe more than makes up for it with her speed, pace and wicked curving kick that, when the wind blows the right way, could result in a goal from literally nowhere. Her long legs have earned her the nickname "Giraffe Girl" even though she's not the tallest player from the Antslinngs Academy of Football or even on the national team, and it's those legs that allow her to cover so much ground in so little time. She is also the greater goalscoring threat from open play, cutting into the box and firing off shots at the net, sometimes to the point of ignoring teammates in better and more viable positions. But she can, and has done so from time to time, made the telling pass that leads to a goal.

FW: Karen VILLEGAS 23 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
It's very rare for someone as short as Karen to be a football player, let alone a striker. But against all odds, not only did she become a good football player, she's also become one of the best players of her generation. Karen was a prodigy even at a very young age, but she nearly ended up not playing football twice: first, when she was shot in the neck (not fatally, thankfully) during the Holy Catholic Revolution of 2008, and second, when the expected growth spurt upon hitting puberty never actually happened. But after seeing the likes of Sonny Torres, Chelsea Stuart and Alex Rousseau succeed at the top flight of women's football in Abanhfleft, she trialled for Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies and was admitted into their academy. Eight years later, Karen is now an international player and Rousseau's striker partner at Rosenpfelblatz.

FW: Zsofia DOLAN 22 y/o, Lionesses Image (Armeia)
Abanhfleft in general, and the city of Markovsky in particular, has always been a melting pot of various cultures, faiths and beliefs, and Sofie is the embodiment of that multicultural spirit. Born and raised in the majority-Russian city of Markovsky to a mixed Hungarian and Irish family, Sofie inherited the hardworking spirit of the two peoples from which she descended, and when many others would have given up and quit, Sofie continued working her way up the ranks of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies, and she broke through to the first team just in time for the Lady Foresters to achieve the Ladies' Premier League and Women's SFA Cup double. She moved to Lionesses in Armeia as part of the club's rebuilding process, after a plane crash killed most of the players of the old team, and her performances and general hard work have earned her a starting spot in the club.

FW: Regina MESBROS 31 y/o, Riuwiee United Women Image
"Good enough for a squad role, not good enough to start." That seems to be the general consensus about Reggie Mesbros right now. She had such a bright career ahead of her, in the days of women's football in Abanhfleft when the Mythical Five of Riuwiee State University were still in high school and had other interests. She was supposed to be the future of women's football. Instead, on the day before it was said that she was to finally receive a call-up for the national team, she got injured in a league game between Riuwiee United and West Releinthi. She never really recovered her earlier luster after that injury. The talent's still there, there's no denying that; but Reggie doesn't feel the need to show it as much as she used to anymore. And with the rise of the Mythical Five, it was inevitable that even though she may be a part of the national team, she was now only good enough for the substitutes. But she can still provide from the bench that levelheadedness that can see the squad through some tough periods in games.

STADIUMS
All football stadiums in Abanhfleft now have seats following a mandatory upgrade in 2000, but despite this ruling, many, if not all, stadiums still allow standing spectators during matches. However, in anticipation for World Cup qualifying matches, more security forces had been hired by the authorities to make sure that there are no standing spectators in such games.

NOTE: Matches will be played in the stadiums by order of enumeration, i.e. Saintland in May 26, Witty Penguins in IKEA Arena and so on.

Official name: May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium
Capacity: est. 67,000
Record attendance: 72,308 (Riuwiee United vs. Wanda Island Wanderers; June 3, 2009)
Operator: Riuwiee United FC
Short history: The May 26 Stadium, originally known as Raschner Lane, and later on as Riuwiee National Stadium, was built in 1886 as a cricket ground, and it served as home for two semi-pro cricket teams before it was bought by the Riuwiee Capitals football team, which will later on become Riuwiee United. After the conclusion of the Catholic Revolution of 2008, the national government bought the controlling share of Riuwiee National Stadium and renamed it the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium, in commemoration of the May 26 Revolution that eventually established the nation of Abanhfleft. Riuwiee United still play in the May 26 Stadium, but now it is also the chosen stadium for home games by the Fleftic national football team.

Official name: State of Wanda Island Arena
Capacity: est. 54,000
Record attendance: 59,674 (Wanda Island Wanderers vs. Malabon SC; November 15, 2012)
Operator: Wanda Island Wanderers FC
Short history: The State of Wanda Island demolished the old Wanda Island Arena in 1998 to make way for a new and improved football stadium that follows international standards. Construction began in 1999, and finished just in time for the beginning of the 2001 Premier League season. The Wanderers played in a nearby high school athletic field for the duration of the arena's construction. In 2010, when IKEA entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Wanderers, the arena was consequently called IKEA Arena for sponsorship reasons. This agreement is expected to continue until 2020, after both sides came to a six-year contract extension.

Image

Official name: Monsanto Stadium
Capacity: est. 50,000
Record attendance: 56,555 (Arsenal de Releinthi vs. Admiral Porcusces; January 7, 2013)
Operator: FC Arsenal de Releinthi
Short history: Arsenal de Releinthi mooted moving to a new stadium ever since 1993, but it was only in 2002 that the club managed to get permission to begin construction on the site of a former landfill after disputes with the city council and land planning office. Even then, it was only after Monsanto agreed to shoulder the cost of the new stadium that it was even built, and because of this, the stadium was named Monsanto Stadium. Arsenal de Releinthi and Monsanto entered into a seven-year contract extension this year, potentially extending Monsanto's sponsorship of the club up to 2021.

Manager: Franscesca Cortes Larriet, Myana Islanders F (DIn)
Franscesca returns for her second stint as the national team after a 3-2-7 showing that yielded sixth place in the first cycle. There is a little more pressure on her after the entire fiasco with Luuk, but a mid-table finish would be acceptable from the DG.
Formation: 5-1-2-2

Style Modifier: -3
Larriet has changed the Chromatik side by a little bit this cycle, with the wingers playing a little bit higher to make the counterattacks a little more possible. Kelly takes the Captaincy from Aart, and Lucas and she will be the ones responsible for the lightning fast attacks that get the ball back up to Antonio. This will make it a little harder on Kelly and Lucas to play on defense, but she believes that may work.

GK #4 Nikolai THORBEN, Myana Islanders M (LVi) Age: 25 Height: 6 ft 11 in
Thorben returns as the keeper after giving up the least number of goals in the group last cycle, fourteen in twelve games. He did get outdone by Urrheddiao youngster Jillian Nier and Kiristn Neovak of the Anomalies, but won the League anyway. Known for his reflexes and reach, but also known for his predictability, he will hope to be the bookend of the team once again.

RB #13 Severin ILYA, Depri Lanar Red Hawks M (DBl) Age: 24 Height: 5 ft 7 in
What Ilya lacks in height, he makes up with his footwork and agility. The lynchpin of the Red Hawks, he returns to the team despite such a disappointing season in the League, which was not at all his fault. He still made first team all-league, and his skills will be needed if Thorben is to excel.

RCB #20 Vitor RAOUL, Anomalies M (LVi) Age: 27 Height: 6 ft 2 in
If there is an outspoken voice of the team, it’s Vitor, who isn’t afraid to give his teammates, his family, his opponents, or even his coach a piece of his mind if the occasion calls for it. Characterized by his Myana drawl and quick wit, his play on the pitch is defined by his ability to work in tandem with Aart in organizing the backfield. It will be interesting to see when he speaks up this cycle, and also how the Anomalies (the national team, not his club team) react to his views. Will he help Kelly’s leadership, or become an opposition? Only time will tell.

CB #28 Luuk AART, Myana Islanders M (Min?) Age: 20 Height: 6 ft 4 in
Once the Anomalies’ Captain, Aart has since been relieved of his duties. As the entire nation knows, this was mostly due to the legitimacy of his bloodline being questioned in a court case that has become the talk of the nation. Larriet was put under some scrutiny for keeping him on the team despite his appearing in only ten games in the league this season. His composure, especially for one so young, is what sets him apart from most. How rusty is he? And can the Anomalies afford a player whose livelihood is being questioned?

LCB #16 Otis SORENDAI, Anomalies M (DBl) Age: 21 Height: 6 ft
Replacing Worensten on the team is Sorendai, who has been playing better as of late. His ability to backpedal and never give up on his man has earned him many accolades from the Anomalies camp, and Larriet decided to heed it. His partnership with Raoul should also help the team, as he hopes to not be the weak link to the wall of the Anomalies.

LB #14 Zlastica ELLEN, Chromatik Capitalizt F (DVi) Age: 26 Height: 6 ft 11 in
The first Capitalizt player to make it to the starting XI, Ellen will also have the distinction of being the only female player on the defensive side for the Anomalies. Her height is a definitive asset in clearing on set pieces, and she also brings a toughness that opponents will find hard to ignore. She can get a bit ill-tempered, however, and that remains the Achilles’ heel on an otherwise solid player.

RM #18 Meagan KELLY, Z'ai'ai Mountaineers F (MIn) Age: 24 Height: 5 ft 4 in CAPTAIN
Known to be the fastest player Chromatika has ever seen, Kelly’s burst off the wing will be crucial if the Anomalies are going to score any goals. With Aart tied up in legal proceedings, she takes the Captaincy, and brings a clear voice to the locker room. Her whole career has been built upon proving naysayers who said she would never amount to anything due to her height. Now, she seeks to disprove the same ones who say that Antonio should have been captain, not her.

CM #15 Rachel HELLION, Anomalies F (MIn) Age: 21 Height: 6 ft 6 in
Hellion dazzled on the domestic scene this season, scoring sixteen goals for the Anomalies, with ten of them coming off of set pieces. Her footwork and technique are solid, but the way she curves the ball around defenders and past the keeper… The Anomalies don’t score too many goals off of set pieces, but if they do, it’ll most likely be off of her left foot. She’ll be playing a bit further back than Kelly or Lucas in the midfield.

LM #29 Daniel LUCAS, Myana Islanders M (DVi) Age: 29 Height: 6 ft 6 in.
The eldest member of the Starting XI, Lucas has the pedigree of being in Larriet’s system and playing the exact same counterattacking role. His crosses have become legendary in the domestic league, and the subject of many a highlight reel. This may be his last hurrah, as he will be over thirty the next cycle, but age doesn’t seem to be slowing him down – if anything, it’s giving him a hunger to pursue faster than ever before.

RF #7 Nioli QUREN, Z'ai'ai Mountaineers M (DIn) Age: 25 Height: 6 ft 2 in
Soft-spoken and gentle, Quren could be considered soft on the pitch. The way he plays, though, he doesn’t need to get down and dirty. He is like a hunter, waiting for the perfect moment of spacing and timing to happen, and then pouncing on it on a moment’s notice. It is true that Antonio gets most of the attention in the Anomalies’ frontal attack, but he’s fine with that – he prefers the shadows anyway.

LF #8 Gabriella ANTONIO, Anomalies F (LVi) Age: 23 Height: 6 ft 1 in
The one-woman wrecking ball of an offense for the Anomalies, Antonio has grown into her own since her four-goal debut last cycle. There are rumors of her being transferred to Myana to create more of a super-team of dominance next year, but that shouldn’t detract from her play. If the Anomalies are going to make more of an impact this cycle, she will need to show up, and show up big.

Bench
GK #1, Jillian NIER, Urrheddiao United F (MIn) Age: 18 Height: 6 ft 7 in
Nier just turned old enough to play on the professional level, and shocked the league by tying for first place for the Golden Glove award. Her instincts are off the charts, and she will be watching Thorben with avid eyes to see how international football is different than domestic.

DEF #26 Erika MORNINGSTAR, Urrheddiao United F (DVi) Age: 21 Height: 6 ft
One of the biggest reasons why the United yielded so few goals last season, Morningstar is likely to be snatched up by one of the big clubs. She may be overshadowed by the big names now, but her chance will come – she is counting on it.

DEF #30 Jan STANIMIR, Chromatik Capitalizt M (DBl) Age: 22 Height: 6 ft 3 in
This is the second stint in the row on the bench for Stanimir, who is as well-rounded of a player as they come. His selflessness and calmness in the face of pressure make him a valuable asset on any squad. He may not be the greatest athletically, but his intangibles set him apart.

MID #29 Sandra SYBILL, Z’ai’ai Mountaineers F (MVi) Age: 23 Height: 5 ft 11 in
Part of the vaunted Mountaineer attack, Sybill will most likely substitute in for either Kelly or Lucas as she also has the skills to bring the ball up very quickly, albeit the fact that she will most likely do it herself instead of passing it over.

MID #19 Ki NIRO, Pùr Riders F (MVi) Age: 22 Height: 5 ft 10 in
The Riders did score sixty-nine goals this season in the Second Division, and Niro assisted on fifteen of them. Her first-touch speed is very fast, and her field vision is great.

FOR #20 Vladimir JANOS, Chromatik Capitalizt M (MBl) Age: 23 Height: 5 ft 9 in
What he lacks in height, he makes up with his shooting, especially to the left upper corner of the net. Janos is a sniper, liking the sweet spot of five yards from goal.

FOR #22 Teor RWANG, Anomalies M (LBl) Age: 20 Height: 6 ft 2 in
Rwang is a player with plenty of upside, just learning what his style of attack is. His head is his weapon of choice, and it has the potential of yielding him a bright future.

Home Venue:
Capitalizt Dome, Chromatiks City, Chromatika (Cap. 144,000)
The crown jewel of the Chromatiks City skyline, the Dome is home to the Capitalizt, and also the national team. Full of state-of-the art facilities and placed in the middle of downtown Chromatiks City, the Dome guarantees a pleasurable viewing experience of football.

Most Likely to:
Score: Hellion off of set pieces, Antonio otherwise. Kelly sometimes, Quren rarely.
Foul: Any of the defense knows when to commit a foul for the greater good.
Card: Raoul, Ilya, Aart, in that order.
Substitute: Lucas for Sybill, or Quren for Rwang.

These Color Lines are extremely strict, and it's practically unheard of anyone of less than Blue to do anything of importance. This is the system Chromatika has been using for as long as written history has existed of the nation...

Those who thought that the Trindl Cup was a waste of time were disappointed. Well, maybe they were happy - either way, A-League players are evidently better than they'd been given credit for by some, and there were plenty of direct beneficiaries when it came to the Qualifying squad. The side came third, beating Eura and Audioslavia 1-0 along the way and pushing Nephara to extra time in their only defeat.

It's proven a significant morale booster ahead of a qualifying group that looks just about manageable in current world-beating form. It's been six years since Brenecia were last at a World Cup, although they really should have managed it last cycle were it not for a truly spectacular collapse. Can they set it right this time?

Bale's side plays lightning-quick, cavalier football, constantly attacking at pace. It's an exceptionally quick but not especially technical side, and maximising opportunities ensures that a few will land in the net. 4-2-3-1 remains a more defensive option when Bale feels the need to put the stranglehold on the game.

Sasha BALE - 45
Manager
Appearance
A smallish, fairly pointy brunette, well-tanned and with a penchant for dress shirts.
Summary In recent years, Sasha Bale has finally moved out of Catherine Bardsley's shadow - her predecessor at club and country, and who she worked for a long time under as assistant manager. They basically share th same phy

Fiona SYLVER - 44
Assistant Manager
Appearance
A well-freckled ginger, 5'8" and still quite lean.
Summary A much-loved former captain of Brenecia, veteran of its ill-fated Baptism of Fire, Sylver was a calculated choice for a manager who desperately needs to earn respect. By all accounts, has a highly-refined tactical mindset as well, and took to coaching like a duck to water. Right now, though, she will almost certainly be needed to stick the squad together more than to make arrows on a chalkboard.
1 - Geneva URQUHART - 30 - Image SC Kiel
50 caps, 23 clean sheets
Appearance
Just 5'7", pointy-faced, stereotypically green-eyed and freckled ginger with short hair.
Summary A dark horse and eye-catching late riser to the challenge for the Patriots, with great reflexes and an unnerving way to get to shots no matter what. Great distribution and ability with her feet form about 90% of a complete product. The problem is that she's obviously pretty poor aerially, and she is just a little error-prone. After Woodgate was in world-beating form during the Trindl Cup, however, can Urquhart take back her place?

12 - Mathis WOODGATE - 23 - Image Northern Union
9 caps, 3 clean sheets
Appearance
6'4", peroxide blond hair in an undercut, sharp grey eyes.
Summary There is a reason why an incomplete Brenecia side kept clean sheets against Eura and Audioslavia, and Mathis Woodgate is that reason. An eye-catching stopper just like Urquhart, Woodgate is more reliable and far better in the air. His distribution is okay, but he isn't comfortable with the ball at his feet and sometimes his command of his area is a little slip-shod - all things that will come with experience, of course. A move abroad for him will surely beckon soon - he probably isn't world-class, but he certainly deserves his chance at a top league. For now, he's probably got momentum on his side.

20 - Sheila CANNON - 28 - Image Fligsive FC
3 caps, 0 clean sheets
Appearance
5'11", athletically-built and with a scruffy mop of dark brown hair.
Summary A decent goalkeeper and a very good shot-stopper, Cannon is decidedly uncomfortable with the ball at her feet while being exceptionally violent when coming out of the net to claim the ball. A bench-warmer for both club and country, she'll do a fine job if called upon, but is unlikely to edge past either Urquhart or Woodgate.

30 - Greig LARSSON - 28 - Image Francisca Orient
Uncapped
Appearance
6'6", lanky and with a broadly windswept look.
Summary Sarian-born but with some Brenecian heritage, Larsson returned to the A-League fairly early in his career and, when given the chance, was relatively good for Orient. Distribution tends to come down to just hoofing it upfield, but he's comfortable in the air, and has a reputation as a solid, reliable shot-stopper.
2 - Scout GIVEN - 29 - Image Firewood City
Right-back
60 caps
Appearance
A tall, lean and angular sandy blonde with very deep brown eyes.
Summary Quick-witted and light on her feet, Given is the sort of reliable defensive fullback that is a genuine panacea to the Patriots' defensive woes. A journeywoman who has played for five different clubs in three different countries, Given is decent going forward but prefers to hunt down wingers and lock down the flank. Passionate and aggressive, occasionally to a fault.

3 - Gerry DUFFY - 28 - Image Bellight FC
Left-back
37 caps
Appearance
Short and scruffy. Cat-green eyes, sandy blond hair, and two sleeve tattoos.
Summary Born in Nephara to Brenecian migrant parents, Duffy developed out of the Coret Hawks academy (and still has the accent), and after two seasons starting regularly in the Premiership saw him take new, bold strides as a player he was snapped up by Bellight after relegation. He may not be the most technical player out there, but he's quick, strong, happy to take beatings and to dish them out.

5 - Orson FAULKNER (c) - 33 - Image AC Izotz Zubia
Centre-back, right-back
100 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn man with rough-hewn features.
Summary A powerful figure in defence, Faulkner is an icon within the Brenecian national team. Strong, intensely physical and with the heart of a lion, Faulkner has been leading by example both on and off the pitch. Has a knack for well-timed goals, too. Brenecia aren't going anywhere without big Orson Faulkner at the back, and there's no telling how long he might last with the national team.

6 - Brandon DUGUID - 27 - Image Mallox
Centre-back
52 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Classically athletic, with short auburn hair, stubble and piercing blue eyes.
Summary Duguid's had a fairly chastening season at club level, and surely faces pressure from powerful players like Scrivener and Bradden. But Bale has faith in Duguid's composure on the ball and tendency for winning it back cleanly, and he'll get his fair chance to keep his place for the national team.

17 - Lena WATERS - 27 - Image Guilder
Right-back
11 caps
Appearance
A small, whippetty woman with a hawkish face and a long brown ponytail.
Summary Formerly of Kingsgrove, nothing seemed to galvanise Waters as much as being sold from her hometown club to lowly Guilder. A clean, quietly efficient tackler who knows when to make her move up the pitch, Waters is a significant step below her more stylish colleagues but time is on her side, and Brenecia needs options. She won't disappoint. A series of quietly effective performances at the Trindl Cup will have done her case no harm.

18 - Anaximander SCRIVENER - 26 - Image Halholzer United
Centre-back
16 caps
Appearance
Tall, strong and athletic, with a Mediterranean cast to his features.
Summary A big, tough centre-half who came from pretty much nowhere to be one of the leading lights of the A-League. Slow on his feet, but surprisingly measured in possession, and pretty much unbeatable in the air. Scrivener got some much-needed experience against first-class forwards in the Trindl Cup, and although he was occasionally caught out for a lack of pace, he generally held firm and did his country proud. The natural successor, then, to Faulkner.

19 - Julian COLLINGWOOD - 28 - Image Hastmead Diamante
Left-back
22 caps
Appearance
A curly-haired good ol' boy, with striking brown eyes, solid-looking face and a barrel-chested physique.
Summary Diligent, versatile and energetic, Collingwood can be thrown into midfield if need be but his vastly preferred position is at leftback - ideally with plenty of license to charge forward. He's excelled for the national team, and should be a nailed-on starter.

22 - Rostyn BRADDEN - 24 - Image Pikemouth
Centre-back
7 caps
Appearance
A big, burly blond with stubble. 6'4" and broad-shouldered.
Summary Pikemouth's gentle giant. You mightn't be comfortable with the thought of Bradden with the ball at his feet, or showing initiative, but he gets the job done, hoofing the ball clear and kicking people into the sky. Positional awareness is a little lacking, but he's still young, very strong and surprisingly quick, and he'll never shirk a workload. He was genuinely impressive alongside Scrivener during the Trindl Cup.

28 - Peter UFFINGTON - 21 - Image Mandon United
Centre-back
Uncapped
Appearance
A tall brunet with scruffy five o'clock shadow and a very angular, classical face.
Summary Okay, Peter Uffington isn't a Brenecian. He hasn't even been to Brenecia before. But he does have enough blood in him to count as Brenecian in the WCC's eyes, and he does have ANL1 experience. He's a fairly technical centre-half with good feet for a big man, liking to occasionally bomb forward into midfield. Mostly, he's one for the future, but it's important to get him capped in a competitive fixture now.

29 - Roxana CUNNINGHAM - 25 - Image Pikemouth
Left-back
2 caps
Appearance
5'9" and muscular, really more of a centre-back's build. Wears her blonde hair in a pixie cut.
Summary Cunningham looked good in the A-League and in her Trindl Cup cameos (65 minutes in all), and it's earned her a place somewhere in the Patriots' depth. She's quick, energetic, eager to go forward and has a hell of a cross on her, but no right foot means she's kind of a one-trick pony. Still, she's a stalwart defender on top of her abilities going forward, and she'll be a decent player if needed.
4 - Lilith PATERSON - 26 - Image Maximum Rovers
Holding Midfielder
19 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
5'4", lean and constantly smiling. A mop of blonde hair, usually with a black headband.
Summary Okay, so Paterson was born and raised in the Laith, now plays in Maximum and has never been to Brenecia in her life. But Brenecia's a small country, and sometimes you need to look at where maternal grandfathers were born. Mick Reeve lived in Falkner until he was five, and that's good enough for the WCC. Either way, Paterson isn't the best technical player but works wonders as the pure defensive midfielder proven at a high level that Brenecia have needed, badly, for years.

8 - Diandra KILBANE - 30 - Image Crisisbless
Central Midfielder
60 caps, 13 goals
Appearance
6', angular auburn. Darting cat-green eyes.
Summary Quick, creative and intelligent, Kilbane faces a real fight for her spot with the resurgence of Cathy Blackslate in the Trindl Cup. Nevertheless, Kilbane's ability as an A-League playmaker was one thing, but her true calling was that of her current box-to-box role, charging around the place with a vengeance. Reasonably quick, but Kilbane's intelligence and passing range are her greatest assets, and she's not afraid to let loose a shot from distance.

11 - Catherine PURRINGTON - 30 - Image Wye United
Central Midfielder
99 caps, 30 goals
Appearance
A short, rather stocky, unathletic woman with a short mop of dark brown hair.
Summary Purrington's not winning any awards for athleticism. Or defensive workrate, or attacking workrate, or physicality, or pace. Furthermore, her right foot is pretty much useless. This leaves her with one foot on a short, chunky body. But what a foot. More talent than any Brenecian in history is confined to a brain and a left foot, and when they're unleashed, a limitless supply of audacious through-balls, ambitious forward passes and blazing shots for the top corner spring forth. Brenecia needs this rough, slightly tarnished diamond.

14 - Cathy BLACKSLATE - 28 - Image Harmonica Tundra
Central Midfielder
34 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
A tall blonde, athletically-built and with a striking face.
Summary Blackslate captained the Trindl Cup side and performed excellently throughout, driving the Patriots on to great things with her tireless box-to-box running. Equally likely to put the finishing touch on a cross or clear the ball off her line, there's a growing sense that Blackslate's incredible form has made her the best choice to be the legs of the Brenecian midfield.

16 - Laura GALLOWAY - 29 - Image Rozelle
Central Midfielder
24 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
Unremarkable-looking brunette, but with bright blue eyes. Bony build.
Summary A gamechanging player. Galloway's the type to belt forward as soon as she takes hold of the ball and get it moving somewhere dangerous, always looking for a killer pass. Not that she's averse to striking out on her own and getting goals, either - and she's fast, too, with a way of getting into the right positions and running into channels. At her weakest out of possession, and a poor tackler.

21 - Catherine GRYPHON - 23 - Image FC Brimstone
Holding Midfielder
4 caps
Appearance
Green-eyed blonde, 5'5" and wiry.
Summary Gryphon is a genuinely exciting talent, exciting enough to be picked up by Brimstone in the ANL, and might even be ready to challenge for a starting berth. But she isn't actually... well, proven, yet, and even her A-League club was reluctant to throw her into the thick of it too soon. Gryphon cleans things up and gets the ball moving, plain and simple and very, very efficient. An aspiring set piece specialist.

25 - Syrene RAMSEY - 28 - Image Baskita FC
Central Midfielder
1 cap
Appearance

Summary A good, energetic midfielder who likes to provide a bit of edge going forward, Ramsey is unlikely to break into the final selection of 23 barring injuries but she's proven more than capable of doing a job. Her rise has been impressive, if not meteoric, and she's got a pretty tidy career in Pasarga after impressing for relegated Saint Alexander.

27 - Lilith FIFE - 30 - Image Kingsgrove
Holding Midfielder
22 caps
Appearance
A lean, 5'2" ginger, with a once-broken nose that never really set properly.
Summary A battling midfield terrier, but one who hasn't quite fulfilled the hopes of the nation. Fife has historically struggled against international-class midfields, but remains a viable option to clamp down the centre. Is a clean but uninspiring passer, and while she isn't much of a physical presence, she's very fast and can run the full game in hot pursuit. Picks up yellow cards like candy. The oldest player in Brenecia's Trindl Cup roster, FIfe at least showed that she can break down international midfields.
7 - Isadora CULLEN - 31 - Image Barbury Town
Right Winger, striker
105 caps, 31 goals
Appearance
Pale brunette with a sharp, ferretty face.
Summary A sharp, quick and intelligent winger. Some disagreed with her decision to leave Kingsgrove, where she was dazzling the (then much weaker) A-League, to join ANL high-fliers Barbury Town. Initially a squad player, she eventually fought her way into the starting lineup, though usually as a striker. Swift, technically adept, decisive at whipping in crosses and, crucially, a good finisher, Cullen has so often made the difference for Brenecia in the past - scoring, for example, their first ever World Cup goal. She will doubtless be needed again.

9 - Sheila MADDON - 28 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Striker
35 caps, 15 goals
Appearance
A 5'5", wiry auburn with a small, round face but piercing blue eyes.
Summary With a Brenecian mother, former Nephara U-21 international Maddon came out of nowhere to land into prominence after some consistent performances in the Premiership. Insanely quick (probably the fastest on the team) she's a consistent finisher marred only by a white-hot temper and a tendency to throw off her shirt during goal celebrations. Where she lacks is physicality, though she's a little too unafraid to stick her boot in.

10 - Roisin CARROLL - 22 - Image Kingsgrove
Left Winger
6 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Long auburn hair, green eyes and freckles. Looks almost more at home in a cheap romance film than a football pitch.
Summary Carroll's easy stride on the ball, remarkable passing range and occasional eye for goal make her one of the most exciting Brenecian players around. True, she's yet to be tested in one of the world's top leagues, but the trust Bale put in her during the Trindl Cup was paid back in full. Carroll could go far, and could be a mainstay of the team for a decade. She isn't, however, as dynamic or direct as some other of Brenecia's wingers.

13 - Naphtali THATCHER - 25 - Image Iskara Daii
Left Winger
30 caps, 7 goals
Appearance
Dark-eyed, long-boned and tall, with wavy brown hair. Looks every bit the kind of solid country boy you'd take home to your parents.
Summary Hailing from approximately the middle of nowhere, Thatcher isn't most people's idea of the modern footballer. Honest, steadfast and devoutly Protestant, Thatcher dazzled the A-League for two seasons like a Roman candle before moving to the LigAnaia. Not a flashy player, moving more or less in straight or diagonal lines either towards goal or to provide the cross and using both pace and unnaturally good control to dominate opponents.

15 - Ursula RANKIN - 25 - Image Wye United
Striker
17 caps, 10 goals
Appearance
Blunt snub-nose, round face, stocky build, squinty green eyes, mop of dirty blonde hair. Stands an even 5'6".
Summary Seven goals over the Campionato Esportiva prove that Rankin is no mere flash in the pan, and she's a nailed-on starter up front. Pugnacious, direct and diligent, Rankin is a product of FC Endeavour's prestigious academy who wasn't quite good enough to break into contention for the side itself, and still isn't quite over that. Her low centre of gravity and impeccable close control make her superb at getting past defenders, as does her ability to suddenly break into full pace at a moment's notice. Her finishing, too, is brutally efficient, and while her goals aren't usually pretty, there's always plenty of them.

23 - Squire TREVELYAN - 22 - Image Oldem Mechanical
Right Winger
3 caps, 2 goals
Appearance

Summary Unambiguously Apoxian and qualifying for Brenecia through blood, one suspects the real reason for Trevelyan getting in the squad over Bowditch is to have him capped before Apox gets to him. Quick, powerful and always fancies himself to get a goal or two, Trevelyan is an irrepressible presence out on the right with undeniable talent. A rough diamond is good enough for the Patriots right now.

24 - Ronan BOWDITCH - 25 - Image Real Azuris
Right Winger
6 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
A 6'2", strongly-built brunet. Wears an easy smile and a lot of hair gel.
Summary Another guileless but explosive winger. Routinely outpaces and overpowers fullbacks before floating in a dangerous cross, but the final product isn't always there yet. He's already an intimidating prospect up front, and ought to win a contract abroad sooner rather than later - there's already been interest from Nephara. But he's another player who is unproven above A-League level, and has a worrying lack of technique.

26 - Marcia DANMARK - 29 - Image Alianza FC
Striker
4 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
Tall, lithe, and with liberally-dyed hair - jet black with blue streaks.
Summary Danmark's natural place is off the shoulder of the last defender, using her height, pace and relentless energy to get past them and cause havoc. She's a somewhat wayward finisher sometimes, but she's always a threat to be taken seriously. As soon as she left Rozelle for Alianza, she not only won the Golden Boot with 25 goals, but sunk Rozelle in the CEdC final with an extra-time brace. But the perception that she's a flat-track bully counts against her.

STARTING XI

DEFENCIVE LINE

00 | Keeper | Jayne Patrick (F, 26) (Free States F.C.)
Patrick is no stranger to the Damukuni national uniform. She has been through it all - earth, wind, fire, blood, sweat, and tears - to play for the team. Her latest foray in football was with the Free States football club, where she was tied for second place in all-time saves in the inaugural season of the Damukuni FA's The Champions league. Additionally, Free States were the 2016 Spring Split of Football regular season champions.

1 | Left Fullback | Yūko Sato (F, 33) (East Town C.C.)
While the East Town Cricket Club's football squad did not qualify for post-season play in either season of The Champions league, they were a staple for both good offence and defence. Yūko Sato, their star defencive player, was no exception. While in The Champions, her clearing kick was the longest in the Damukuni FA, covering about 80 metres of field.

2 | Right Fullback | Yumi Wakahisa (F, 27) (Ishida Royals)
Wakahisa shined for the Royals during their race to capture a post-season spot in The Champions league. While she was not particularly noticed until near the end of the season, her work to get the football out of the 18-yard area has resulted in some of the most challenging tasks for any of the more offencive teams in the division. She helped get Ishida Royals to repeat their postseason run, only to lose in a quarterfinal match.

3 | Right-Center Fullback | Cara Jakeman (F, 22) (Sporting Endoshi)
Cara Jakeman shined for Ishida Royals' defence this season, allowing only 49 goals to get past her line. Royals, including right fullback Wakahisa, qualified for post-season play for the second time in the franchise's history.

5 | Left-Center Fullback | Tyrrell Rupertson (M, 31)
While Rupertson does not play in the Damukuni FA (one of only two players, and the only starter, not to do so), Rupertson's contributions to the national team cannot be overlooked. Under the baton of former manager Imazaki Shofune, his work at stopper saved the Damukuni FA from utter humiliation in not only the 60th Baptism of Fire, but also in the 73rd World Cup, where he fought to give the team one match point against the toughest team in his qualifying group.

MIDFIELDERS

8 | Left Mid | Ryoichi Himura (M, 30) (University City Sports)
Himura scored seven of University City Sports' 43 goals in their run to capture the final Globe Cup spot for the Damukuni FA. On the national team, his principal contribution was securing the team a playoff spot in the 60th Baptism of Fire, only to be beat during the team's only trip to Junín, the "Forbidden City" of Valladares.
Additionally, Himura exploded for more goals in University City Sports the next season, to capture the regular season runner-up spot. However, he will be forfeiting the Globe Cup opportunity to play here for the national team in his second World Cup appearance.

22 | Right Mid | Joanna Dietrich (F, 23) (Endoshi Dynamite)
The 23-year-old Dietrich is probably Damukuni's second most glorious success story in domestic sport, after now-manager Wisdom Tracey. She led Endoshi Dynamite not only in scoring but also in the only automatic bid out of The Challengers (the second tier of Damukuni FA) for The Champions, making her eligible to play for the national team. She also scored Dynamite's only goals in the Series B Champions' Cup.

OFFENCIVE LINE

12 (C) | Center Halfback | Nicole Statham (F, 29) (AC Shinzoba)
One of the first to represent her country in the UICA Champions' Cup, the Damukuni FA is pleased to name the 29-year-old Statham to the absolute captaincy beginning with this cycle of sport. She proved herself immediately following the disappearance of star Wisdom Tracey during the 60th Baptism of Fire, both offencively and defencively.

16 | Forward | Joni Butler (F, 24) (Ibuza Anteaters)
While Anteaters were not known for their successes in the inaugural edition of The Champions league, they desperately needed to get out of the relegation zone. Joni Butler, also no stranger to international play, did just that - by scoring goals. Her contributions to Anteaters were regarded as so legendary that the team museum in the Ibuza Sportsdome commemorated a plaque with all of her team contributions for that season.

34 | Left Wing | Gabriel Ackerman (M, 31) (Nasutani Powerblade)
While Ackerman's team contributions to Nasutani Powerblade were meager yet instrumental to remaining in the front 10 of The Champions league in the 2015 season, in 2016 Spring he led his team in scoring from wing-side to capture the Championship of Football for the season, beating All-Sport Forest Glade by a 2-0 score. His possession time is the longest by a Damukunian player on the national team.

89 | Right Wing | Kyōsuke Matsushita (M, 29) (Shinzoba Sport & Athletic)
Another veteran of the first national team squad, Matsushita joins the team again from the other Shinzoba franchise in The Champions league. Matsushita also scored during his time on the national team during the 60th Baptism of Fire, and the FA is looking for a good performance from him in this cycle of the CE.

After the deposition of former Pope Narcissus II as supreme leader of Damukuni, the atmosphere has relaxed substantially, although tensions between the National Catholic Church and the people of Damukuni still exist. The Atarashii-Damushuto International Stadium, once an execution ground for dissidents against the regime, is currently undergoing a general clean-up and restoration phase, including renovations for the upcoming Associations Twenty20 League, a new venture in cricket that will replace the now-defunct Yerfilag Premier League. Football-related events, both American code (for the University of Damushuto) and association code, are currently held here at the University of Damushuto Stadium.

The stadium is also home to University City Sports, who finished fourth in The Champions, Damukuni FA's highest tier of professional football, and, of course, to the University of Damushuto Bulldogs, who play not only football, but field hockey and lacrosse, here in this luscious, 30,000-seat stadium. The stadium is also used for concerts and other events.

Barunia's National Football Team

Everything you ever wanted to know about Barunian Football History

It's been 10 cycles and 40 years since Barunia first burst on to the scene, narrowly missing out on qualifying for World Cup 64. Since then, they've gone unbeaten in the qualifiers of World Cup 68, been Cup of Harmony 62 runner-ups, and World Cup 71 quarter-finalists. Yet the Barunian Suns are a team that seems to sit always just on the edge of success. Perhaps now, after 40 years, it is the end of the dawn, and the Suns will finally rise.

It's an identical squad to the last World Cup, with selectors finally listening to Ruskin and looking to build a team around a core group of players, something that Barunia has lacked in recent times with a large amount of debutantes each year. Legendary forward Miguel Manzana missed out last cycle due to injury, but retired after the Olympics, allowing talented young gun Martin Bailey a real chance to shine, alongside the experienced Collins-Holzknecht. Barunia's defence is anchored by the wall that is Paul Bainbridge, the most capped player on this squad and worthy of the captain's armband, as well as experienced defenders Magana and Sweet, and the fierce Felix "The Bull" Benitez.

Head Coach: Joric Ruskin
Joric Ruskin played just seven international games in his footballing career, but he is still regarded as a legend in Barunian Sports. The Sun's captain during his career, Joric led them to the quarter-finals of the Baptism of Fire. In the Sun's inaugural World Cup campaign, Joric played just one game before departing the team suddenly. It later transpired that he had left to join the Socialist army in the civil war. His career as both a footballer and solider came to an abrupt end when he lost his legs in a grenade attack. Now confined to a wheelchair, the former defender for the Marion Hawks has found a new career as a football coach. His first campaign as coach saw him guide the team to their first world cup qualification (WC67), before following it up immediately with a second. While his job was in danger after the rocky campaigns of 69 and 70, a 2nd place finish in Cup of Harmony 62 saw him gain a reprieve, which he seized with both hands by returning the Suns to the World Cup in 71.
NB: As is typical of football teams in Barunia, the Suns do not have a manager. The Coach is responsible for managing the team.

Stadiums
Sun Stadium (National Stadium of Barunia), Porthaven - Capacity: 95,000
Ground will host: Krytenia, Red Blackiland
Sun Stadium was built on the site of the old United Stadium, however it is not a renovation but a completely new building. Located in the national capital of Porthaven, Havenia state, the stadium was designed to be the home stadium of the Suns. This is evident in the seat patterning, which represents a yellow sun in a blue sky, and the golden "sunburst" roof. The stadium is multi-purpose too, creating a vibrant sports hub for the capital. During the World Cup, a party atmosphere will descend on the grounds around the stadium, as the national stadium will host the biggest match-ups of the tournament.

Memorial Stadium - Capacity: 100,000
Ground will host: Britonisea, Ferret Civilisation
It's been a long time coming for this upgrade to the Marion Hawk's home stadium. Originally intended to be named in honour of Hawks legend and national coach Joric Ruskin, the stadium name was changed at Ruskin's suggestion to honour all those who fought in the civil war. Memorial stadium is located in Edwardton, the capital of Marion state, and is shared by both the Marion Hawks and Edwardton Eagles, which has led to the nickname "The Birdcage". One of the newest stadiums in Barunia, Memorial stadium was built by Kytlerian company BNW Varin and features a retractable roof, 90,000 seats plus terraces, plenty of room for foreign media and large movable screens at the back of the top tier.
Image

Sam Garcia Field (Northport Sports Complex) - Capacity: 43,000
Ground will host: Matthewsiania, Swestan
Located in the city of Northport-San Baptise in the Northern Islands, this ground is the sacred heart of Barunian football. Located near the place where people first came to Barunia, San Baptiste island is considered the place where football began in this country. It's a ground known for firsts, hosting all home matches during the Suns inaugural World Cup campaign (due to it being the only safe ground during the civil war) and is the home of the San Baptiste Sea Lions, the first Barunian Football League championship team. Named in memory of former Sea Lions and Suns goalkeeper Sam Garcia, who died in a ferry crash that claimed hundreds of lives.

Kaboomlandia Phoenix National Association Football Team

While the team had a disappointing performance in World Cup 73, it wasn't all bad, as the team's infuriating 1-8-1 defensive style worked quite well for Kaboomlandia. All the components of that team return for another shot.

Nickname: Phoenix
Head Coach: Ryan White
Assistant Coach: Tom Burns
Stadium: Kaboomlandian National Stadium (54,400)
Style Modifier: -5.0

Starters:
GK: #1 Duncan McEachern, Age 22, 6'2", 200 lbs
The only superstar on the team, McEachern plays for one of the world's best youth clubs, International FC of Armeia.

Defense:
#8 Marco Ciliano, Age 25, 5'8", 175 lbs
Ciliano is a solid if unspectacular defender for Galturin FC.
#4 John Burrell, Age 29, 6'1", 195 lbs
Burrell is also a defensive stalwart in the backfield for Galturin City.
#3 Darren Cracknell, Age 20, 6'3", 214 lbs
Cracknell is a giant defender for Kolra Royale. He's very difficult to get past.

Midfield:
#11 Julian Epone, Age 18, 6', 200 lbs
Epone is a good ball-mover with size.
#5 Ben Bradbury, Age 21, 5'10", 193 lbs
Bradbury is a decent offensive midfielder, but in Coach White's stifling defensive system, how will he fit in?
#18 Gillian Lapointe, Age 18, 5'6", 154 lbs
One of only two women with a starting position on this team, Lapointe is quick, but is dwarfed by her teammates.
#2 Jared Kessler, Age 22, 5'8", 182 lbs
Kessler is the second-smallest man on the team, at only 5'8", 182 lbs. He plays well in White's defensive system.

Forwards:
#17 Rene Allard, Age 19, 6'2", 197 lbs
The tall forward is the Phoenix' only good scorer, and so he is the only offensive player in Ryan White's system.
#20 Tanner Libin, Age 23, 6'1", 185 lbs
Tanner Libin is a very defensive forward. Coaches like him because of his staunch defensive skills.
#23 Diana Libin, Age 18, 5'6", 143 lbs
The sister of Tanner, Diana is the smallest player on the team, as well as the youngest. She is also a defensive forward.

Reserves:
GK:
#15 Julian Karp, Age 24, 6'2", 217 lbs
Karp is the clear backup behind McEachern. He's been criticized for his conditioning in the past.

Defense:
#30 Sarah Jenson, Age 23, 5'7", 160 lbs
Jenson is the third woman on the team, and the oldest of the three.

Midfield:
#43 Jim Wright, Age 26, 5'11", 180 lbs
Wright was named to this team for his character and ability to come in and work hard.

Forward:
#96 David Daley, Age 22, 5'10", 178 lbs
Daley rounds out the team as the fourth forward. Don't expect to see him much.

Playing Style:
This is where the Phoenix will be made or broken. Ryan White's system is a 1-8-1 formation that will make opposing coaches want to pull their hair out in frustration. It essentially revolves around putting Rene Allard in front and Marco Ciliano in the back, while stacking up the other eight players around midfield to break up any possible pass attempt The sheer amount of offside calls this causes by there only being one person back has actually caused more than one red card to be handed out to their opponents just from screaming at the refs for all the offsides.

Group:

Brenecia (40)
Santaclausisgodistan (160)
The Royal Kingdom of Quebec (13)

Kaboomlandia (120)

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just don’t kill anyone, K?
Ages are as of WCLXXIV Finals. Subtract two years for first half of qualifying, one for second half.

Image
KRYTENIA 2230 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +3

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Dario NAVAS, Age 43
With old Rami Niblick disappearing off into a glorious sky blue sunset, it's his former assistant who's taking the reins. He's a little more defensive than his predecessor, which is like saying that black is a little darker than hex colour #111111.

Assistant Manager – Cordell TATE, Age 45
Goalkeeping Coach – Michael VERDETTI, Age 51
Defensive Coach – Steven PRIMROSE, Age 46
Offensive Coach – Mark YAKIMOV, Age 49
Physiotherapist – Jessica NELSON, Age 45

THE SQUAD

Image
David HEATON
Age: 35
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Wexax United (VAL)

Emerged as a world-class shot stopper during World Cup 72. Wexax clearly liked what they saw.

Image
Sam BARCALI
Age: 33
Position: Right-back
Club: Avidia United

Pacy fullback with a decent cross, Barcali is no relation to the famed goalkeeper of yore. He is, however, an exciting attacking option for the national team. Age has dented his speed only slightly.

Image
Mitchell MITCHELL
Age: 25
Position: Left-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

The man with possibly the most unimaginative parents ever, "Mitchy Mitch" will be filling the void left by outgoing captain Michel Demetrius. Helped Ashton to an excellent Liga Calania season.

Image
Jason DAVIS
Age: 29
Position: Centre-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Tall and rangy, Jason Davis is the man you want heading the ball - at either end.

Image
Alfie XOUSA
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Combining intelligence with pace, Xousa has developed an excellent working relationship with Davis.

Image
Samuel ALINAS
CAPTAIN
Age: 33
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

Simple, honest, hard-tackling central midfielder, with excellent distribution. A real fulcrum for the side to work from.

Image
VALRAUNCION
Age: Elf
Position: Forward
Club: Telecontarë (STB)

Ah, the infamous elf. Valrauncion is, at least for now, the only Krytenian international who can lay claim to a World Cup winners' medal. He made a home for himself in Ousevale over the years, and when Starblaydia withdrew from international football at the end of World Cup 57, the KFA made a cheeky request to naturalise the striker and offer him a place in the cyan. To their astonishment, he accepted. Now back where it all began for his club, the Cyan Army still knows that he may be a cock, but he's OUR cock.

Image
Marco ANGELO
Age: 28
Position: Right midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Maturing like a fine Chablis, Angelo has bags of pace, and crosses well. The one downside is that he no longer has Ronnie van Rijn to aim at; the upside is that Alex Sampson has developed in a similar vein.

Image
Alexander SAMPSON
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Ronnie van Who of Where? Alex Sampson is banging them in for club and country, and we couldn't be happier.

Image
Armando ORTEGA
Age: 22
Position: Attacking midfield/forward
Club: Avidia United

Where to begin? Plays like the ball is glued to his feat, is completely fearless against defences...and he's only just out of his teens. Expect fireworks. And maybe Exocets.

Image
Liam LARSSON
Age: 32
Position: Left midfield
Club: Casuals Osteria

The speed might not be quite what it once was, but Larsson can still pass and cross with laser-guided accuracy.

Image
Mark RANKINE
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Stanton Town

Looked to be heading for the scrapheap before Stanton took a chance on him; he's repaid that faith with a string of high-class performances in the engine-room.

Image
Marcus BAILEY
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Mercia Bromham

Excellent all-round talent; will be looking to wrest the green jersey from a certain D. Heaton.

Image
Neil DONNER
Age: 24
Position: Right midfield
Club: Ashton Olympic

One of the best players to come out of the Mother Bear City in years (Mitchell Mitchell was signed from Ousevale Juniors, so he doesn't count.) Loves to make full-backs work.

Image
Marcus LYONS
Age: 21
Position: Right-back
Club: Bradwell Saints

Promising young talent, full of beans.

Image
Craig GRASMERE
Age: 31
Position: Central midfield
Club: Real Atlantea

A midfield rock, tends to play best just in front of the back four. Excellent distribution with the short pass and tenacious in the tackle.

Image
Leo FLORES
Age: 19
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United

Flores is, *ahem*, blossoming nicely as a striker.

Image
David HOLZMANN
Age: 25
Position: Forward
Club: Royal Emberton

Clinical in the box, but could do with improving his workrate off the ball.

Image
Mark ELLISHAM
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Casuals Osteria

The rock of the Miners' defence, Ellisham is best with the ball at his feet. He's an expert at the calm thirty-yard clearance to an onrushing winger.

Image
Michael COKER
Age: 27
Position: Centre-back
Club: Leston Town

Ah, Leston, the City of Industry. No surprises, then, that Coker is a hard-working engine in the back line.

Image
Adrian ANUZZI
Age: 26
Position: Left midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Still yet to completely fulfil his tag as the "new Kiefer Lloyd". Captaining the Under-21s added some strings to his bow though.

Image
Jason LEUTER
Age: 30
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Casuals Osteria

Casuals do like to produce young goalkeeping talent; sadly Leuter is well back in the current international queue.

Image
John MARSHALL
Age: 23
Position: Left-back
Club: Ousevale Borough

A rough diamond, tends to be too happy in bombing forward and exposing the defence. Good skills on the ball, though.

LIKELY STARTERS
Heaton
Barcali - Xousa – Davis – Mitchell
Angelo - Alinas (c) - Larsson
Ortega
Valrauncion – Sampson

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information

Style: -2

With the retirement of several key players of the squad, players who have played for Electrum since debut many cycles ago, it is a time of renewal and opportunity as the team moves forward into the future: they have qualified for the World Cup for the first time ever last cycle, and missed out on making the Round of 16 by just a single point. Now, the question for this cycle is whether or not they can continue that momentum and sneak into the World Cup cycle like last time, or be disappointed by another playoff round and being kicked out of the World Cup with the two-legged play-off format. Their greatest achievement to date is a 4th place finish in a Cup of Harmony editions ago and a 3rd place finish in the last Copa Rushmori. They have currently achieved their career-high ranking of 24, but they narrowly missed out on being a Pot 1 team. Their main opponents for this cycle will be the Free Republics/Falatulu, who are the Pot 1 team and have a ranking of 21. This means the top spot of the ladder will be toughly contested, for a spot of auto-qualification into the World Cup.

The team is defensive, thanks to former Maximum City manager Daniel Brunet. This will be his last cycle coaching the side, with his contract running out on amicable terms after this World Cup. The team prefers to hang around and wait for opportunities and mistakes presented by the other team before striking. Sometimes when they are under pressure, they may tend to desert their assigned formation/area of the field and do their own thing. The Electrumite team relies heavily on the midfield to deliver those balls when necessary. In terms of defense, the Electrum team will always make sure to pair-up, with the skilled hands of GK Fenech always there when needed.

The team seem to be more in form than ever, with the recent reboot of the Electrum League, now constituted under a deal with the New Gelderland Football Federation, the league is now renamed the Terranean League. This means that players have more practise in the off-season and regularly play against each other. The Terranean League, unlike the former E-League is a multi-associational league, and pundits say that this time, the league looks to be financially viable and will continue for years to come.

SULTANATE OF OONTAZ DERT LI NG
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

This is the first time that Oontaz Dert Li Ng will be participating in the World Cup qualifiers. Oontaz got through undefeated in the group stage of the Baptism of Fire 61 but was knocked out in the round of 16 by Arioslavia. The nation is a mix of Muslims and Catholics, with the Mohammedans concentrated in the northern part of the country and the Christians living mostly in the southern islands. Despite a turbulent early history which saw both religious groups fighting constant wars and rebellions, by the time Abanhfleft came and "occupied" the nation in 1921, a general "peace" had settled between the two groups, and today both are content to consider each other as Oontazniks. Despite being a sultanate, the freedom of religion is valued by the nation, although it would be good advice to say that while the Catholics and Christians might be welcoming, even accommodating, to foreigners of strange new religions, the Muslims might not be so welcoming.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Sultanate of Oontaz Dert Li Ng
Demonym: Oontaznik
Team colors: Green and white
Style modifier: -2.0 (Defensive this time around)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Emir Usamah Andrade (40 y/o, Oontaz Dert Li Ng)

STARTERS
GK: Septimio BARRANQUILLANO 27 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao Image
Maranao is renowned in Oontaz as being one of the best football academies, if not the best, in the country. It also has a reputation of producing good goalkeepers from its ranks. Unfortunately, Septimio is not one of those good keepers. Sure, he's decent, and can pull off a save that could be considered world-class, but for all intents and purposes, if he really was one of the good keepers, he would not be playing in Oontaz anymore, especially not for a mid-table side like Botafogo.

RB: Steven McCREERY 24 y/o, Sporting Wappinger Image (Abanhfleft)
McCreery is what people in the sports industry call an "import," a foreign-born player who was convinced by the Oontaz Royal Football Association to play for Oontaz instead of the country in which he was born, Abanhfleft. McCreery had already played for the Fleftic under-18 and under-19 teams, but since he believed that he had no chance of receiving a call-up to the senior team, he decided to accept the ORFA's offer and play for Oontaz. He's allowed to do that because records have proven that his grandmother from his mother's side was Oontaznik.

RCB: Makhdoum MACARAIG 31 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image (Abanhfleft)
Decent Oontaznik center backs can be hard to find, especially decent Oontaznik center backs in their early 30s or so, because in their day, attack was favored very highly over defense in the Oontaznik leagues, and therefore few 30-years-old-or-so Oontaznik defenders are actually any good at defending. Makhdoum Macaraig is one of those few rare defenders. His slow speed and ponderous build meant that he was never really suited to be anywhere near an attacking role, but that hasn't stopped him from having a good career at Abanhfleft's Locomotive Imgortur, which plays in the Fleftic Premier League. Perhaps there really are players who were meant to play in one league and not any other league.

LCB: Honesto CAMPANILLA 23 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Sometimes it is lamentable that in a competition where experience and leadership would be most valuable in a back line, all that could be scraped up was a single slow defender who somehow made it big in Abanhfleft's top flight, and a bunch of young talent that could make it or break it at any day. Campanilla, or Estong as he likes to be called, has slightly more potential than the other defenders in the team, and he also has a slightly higher chance of being an actually good player than the others. Sure, he slide-tackles at every opportunity, and it is easy for an experienced forward or even midfielder to get him booked, but Estong only has to learn to not swing himself around like a mace and he could make it big like his big partner in the center, Makhdoum Macaraig.

LB: Sulaiman DIMACULANGAN 22 y/o, Real Altamarino Image
There are a lot of promising young defenders plying their trade in the Oontaz First Division, and it could even be said that Emir Usamah is spoilt for choice when it comes to good young fullbacks. But instead he decided to put one of the clumsiest, least reliable defenders from a recently-promoted team that was already flirting with relegation into the starting eleven, and the reason for that is simple: Sulaiman is from Clan Dimaculangan, and Emir Usamah is from Clan Andrade. Oontaz historians would know that until recently, Clan Dimaculangan was just an ordinary Oontaznik family, before being elevated by Clan Andrade into the royally recognized clans. Who doesn't love nepotism, eh? One can already imagine poor Sulaiman being bypassed by decent forwards as if he wasn't even there.

DM: Timothy SAN MARCELINO 24 y/o, Santos FC Image
Of course it wouldn't be a real Oontaznik football team if a Santos player wasn't there. And in this part of the team, it looks as if Emir Usamah has finally assembled a team capable of making it through the World Cup qualifiers with at least a few draws and maybe a win or two. SanMar, as he's called by Oontaz fans, is, as his position states, a defensive midfielder, meaning that his main purpose is to break up any attacks attempted by the opponents before they reach the pitiful defense and the sadly shocking goalkeeper. It's a job that he does well enough that he's earned a starting spot in the most prestigious team in Oontaz Dert Li Ng.

CM: Josef "Joey Boy" MACALACAN 26 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
Joey Boy is the classic box-to-box midfielder, balancing offensive and defensive duties and covering as much of the pitch as possible. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to focus on one specific duty for too long, and by the duty he could mentally shift himself from being an attacking player to a defensive player or vice versa, it's often too late, and the defense had been overrun by a competent opponent.

RM: Haider ZULFIKAR 26 y/o, Riuwiee United Image (Abanhfleft)
Sometimes it can be such a shame when a good and promising player like Zulfikar ends up rotting on the bench, being unable to help his team even though he knows that he just might be the final piece of the puzzle that rescues a league campaign gone horribly wrong. Zulfikar was a member of the infamous Riuwiee United team that blew an eight-point lead at the summit of the Fleftic Premier League and turned it into an insurmountable five-point gap between first and third, where the Blue Tribesmen ended up to allow their rivals Arsenal de Releinthi to claim the title. Now, with the likes of Shinji Ikeda and Hamengkubuwono sold off or relegated to the bench, Zulfikar now has to show that he could be the change that Riuwiee and Oontaz Dert Li Ng needs.

CAM: Magomedun MANGUDADATU 28 y/o, Santos FC Image
Magomedun is about one of only two players on this Oontaz squad that could probably and properly be called world class. His ball distribution skills are to die for and are a treat to watch. Some have accused of being lazy and uncaring in games, but even though he may be quite a bit shit for the majority of the game, all he needs is to make that one telling pass to open up the defense and let his teammate through on goal and that's all there is to know about him. If only his teammates could convert the chances that he creates, then he could be a twenty-assists-per-season player.

LM: ZULFIQLI bin Alisher 23 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia), on loan from Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Sometimes, there comes a time that a team becomes so full of talent in the midfield that someone has to be dropped for the sake of the other players. Zulfiqli was... someone who had this happen to him. Everyone knows of Godric Wexler's reputation for finding and producing world class players from relative unknowns. He had done much the same with Zulfiqli, but unfortunately for the Oontaznik, his quality only appeared when Wexler had finally fixed his problems in his midfield. He knew that Zulfiqli would need starting minutes if he was to keep his spot in the starting eleven of the Oontaz national team, and that's why he was loaned to Pridnestrovia's Union Rheinburg. And now Zulfiqli's a vital component to the Eisern Union's surprise title challenge in the Pridnestrovian Super League.

ST: Juan Dominador "Ador" MACASPAC 35 y/o, Santos FC Image
It's telling of how much a country has "abandoned" their national sports programs if their best player is also one of the oldest in the squad. That said, Ador is definitely still world class even for his age, even though he may not be as quick as he was before, and it appears as if some of his magic shooting touch had left him. But even through all that, the man who made his debut for the national team fifteen years ago is still a force to be reckoned with, and his age and experience had given him the knowledge to outsmart and outmuscle his defenders. If only he could receive a pass with a good first touch like he used to...

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 74 SQUAD

While the nation took a long break from WCs 8 through 24, the Holy Empire is proud to be the only active nation to have participated in WC 1.

Though it pretends not to be, the nation is equally proud to have won 4 World Cup titles

This World Cup, the Holy Empire is fielding a team of archaeologists, who'll be travelling the multiverse to examine the pasts of the nations they play against.

However, they're not very good archaeologists, and don't really understand Ordinary Reality that well, so virtually everything they say about the past of other nations will be absolutely false. You're very welcome to react accordingly.

In qualification, away matches will be based around the nations they're visiting. Home matches can be based around any nation - if you'd like to be the subject of an Imperial archaeology report, TG me!

Style Modifiers / formation

Frosty football is attacking football. The Holy Empire always plays a 3-5-2 formation using overlapping wingers that turns into 3-3-4 on the counterattack.

[OOC'ly, for the purposes of scorination, the team uses the maximum attacking style modifier permitted by each cup's hosts.]

Kit
The team will wear famous Imperial Gold and Red, as worn by the Holy Empire since WC1... but in a new design!

(home top, away bottom)
Image
Image

OOC'ly, the kits were designed by Red Blackiland, and the crest by Audioslavia - and I'm entirely grateful; I'm very happy for RB and Audio to take OOC credit. IC'ly, HEFA deny the Mundies had anything to do with it.

Stadium
The Holy Empire plays its home matches in the bejewelled, platinum-domed, and purple stone-walled Imperial Hippodrome, the oldest World Cup venue still in use, and one of the most famous - and impressive - stadiums in the multiverse.

RP instructions:
Have fun; but don't kill anyone, and don't try and launch attacks on the Dreamed Realm - largely because you can't.

Some basic Dreamed Realm RP rules:
Remember that the Dreamed Realm lies entirely outside of Ordinary Reality, and is utterly impervious to harm from what we charmingly call 'mundies'.

Some points to remember about travel to, and playing in, the Dreamed Realm:

1) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm; reality and time are malleable within the Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Imperial home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated, unless permission is received in advance (please file applications for violent rioting in triplicate). Any such behaviour undertaken without appropriate permission will find those responsible immediately transported back to Ordinary Reality.

2) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Empire, a team of Archregimancy monks will arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Empire at your convenience.

FA|ULT
Football Association of the Unified Lycan Territories

Kits: Home kits are blue and black, vertically striped ((a la Inter Milan)). Away kits are predominantly white, with a diagonal red stripe. Black shorts for both. Goalkeepers wear a solid sky blue jacket.

About the Territories: The Unified Lycan Territories (commonly referred to as 'the Territories', occasionally semantically 'Lycania') are a largely decentralized state, with most of the power coming from the seven 'Great Clans', whose united territories comprise the country. What central government that does exist is dominated by the Secretariat, an executive council of 14 - one man and woman from each of the seven 'Great Clans'. The head of the Secretariat, the Secretary-General, serves as the head of state for the Territories while the other 13 head various ministries. Appointment to the Secretariat is dependent on the vote of the various clan councils and territorial governments. There is a federal legislative branch - each clan has an allocated number of seats, and the various territories hold democratic elections for their representatives. National political parties tend to be alliances between ideologically close regional parties. While the Secretariat has control of the various ministries, which ministries which Clan gets is determined by the legislature, usually via long-debated compromise when time comes for the executive term to close. Any Clan has the opportunity to take any ministry, though historically some Clans have dominated some positions. Only the Secretary-Generalship is special - it rotates on a predetermined basis. Because of the sociopolitical history of the Great Clans, wherein certain clans within the greater clans held social and cultural power than others, government has a tendency to be somewhat oligarchical. There has been a concerted effort to reduce this and further democratize the Territories, but the legacy still remains. The current Secretary-General is Lucas Barnaby, of Clan Glire.

About Lycans: Lycans are a therianthropic people, with adults capable of transforming at will between a human and an anthropomorphic bestial form - i.e. werewolves and the like. Their transformative abilities are natural and inborn - they can't 'bite' you and transform you into one of them. Each Lycan has a singular form they can transform into, based on their own ancestry. What form they possess determines which of the 'Great Clans' they are considered to be apart of, and these Great Clans are based off of biological similarities of their bestial forms. The seven Great Clans are Ursa, Felix, Canis, Glire, Rhoden, Mustel and Viver. What clans correspond to which forms should be more or less obvious. Despite covering a wide variety of species, some of which share predator/prey relationships, inter-clan relations are largely based off sociopolitical circumstances and personal relationships, not anything having to do with the habits of the creatures their form takes. A were-cat and a were-mouse, for example, aren't any more or less likely to be enemies than a were-rabbit and a were-mouse. For more, click here.

About the Team: Young and brash, the team overcame some early nerves in their first game of the Baptism of Fire to go on a run of strong performances - putting up ten goals along with three consecutive clean sheets - before ultimately falling in penalty kicks to Dudgeon in the quarterfinals, after a tough, scoreless match. This will be their first World Cup, and there's a general feeling of excitement in the air, though all would agree that they're facing fairly long odds. Mostly reliant on their athletic ability, their teamwork and technique can be a bit raw at times, but growing pains are to be expected. Strategically, the team focuses on the counter - playing defensively before trying to quickly move up the wings when opportunity arises.

Note - Due to the disparate physical differences of their 'were' forms, the Unified Lycan Territories will compete in their human forms as per FA regulations for inter-clan matches. Makes producing kits cheaper, too. ;) Unless, perhaps, you'd like to arrange something...

National Info: The Unified Sunrise Islands are, in fact, the religious union of many countries whose names have Sunrise Islands. According to the Liro d'Arceus, a book where the religion of Arceusism is based after; the Sunrise Islands were formed by Arceus to guarantee peace and order. At one point, however, those rules ended up being forgotten by a good portion of the people, so Arceus sent Pokémon to carry its' word. After a brief while with both creatures coexisting, they all came to a term and the Sunrisians then became the people to carry the word of Arceus and follow its' principles.

At first, there was only one Sunrise Islands, known as the Northern Sunrise Islands. They are the most memorable name among the Sunrise Islands and also the one responsible for most of its' accolades. However, that doesn't exclude the other Sunrise Islands, all generated by other PokéDeities who, bored and inspired by Arceus, decided to take a try and create their own pieces of land on different realms. It wouldn't take long for almost all of the Sunrise Islands to end on a secondary realm, where, after the Kirigiri-no-Mikoto incident, all Sunrise Islands ended up joining the realm of the Northern Sunrise Islands. As a result of how out of hand the situation became, there is at least one Sunrise Island for each direction known to any being, even Up and Down; though reports say that they once considered having an All-Around, but that would sound "like a plan of a Spinda" and the closest to that are the Ferris Wheels still on existence at the Sunrise Islands.

Sunrisians mostly use English as their main language, seeing as most of the countries involved, for some rather helpful coincidence, all speak English with some other language but considering most of the Sunrisians have a thing for foreign culture, it's not rare to see that some weird group of people speak your language, even if it's way hidden and original and full of diacritics. In the end, the Sunrisians are a peaceful bunch, only getting to arms when really needed. They consider Pokémon Battling to be a thing, are starting to get used to cars yet have already developed a cure for a bunch of stuff. That's the Sunrise for you. And that's why most people love it.

The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium (87,000 Seating Capacity) in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali-Ring. The Tivali-Ring complex was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict. 'The Ring' has since hosted countless international matches including high profile matches such as the World Cup 31 Final and the 40th Series 'B' Champions Cup Final.

Despite being based at the Ring, The Football Association of Vilita regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the 87,000 capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali-Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, domestically for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchups. The Football Association typically releases a stadium schedule when applicable.

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Zelkki Milake [ - Eastal Lunar - ]
GK ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 8 :: GOALS:0 ) :: [ N/R ]
An aspiring Astronaut, Zelkki Milake's sporting career took added importance when he signed for Eastal Lunar FC at the age of 16 and immediately became the clubs starting goalkeeper for the Season 41 Declasse Division campaign. Milake kept a series of clean sheets that kept Eastal Lunar in the top half of the table for the majority of the season and still mathematically in the hunt for promotion entering the final matchday. The 1-0 victory over Akisa Surta combined with a Turoki Isle draw propelled Eastal Lunar into the top two and ensured that the young Milake would be thrust into action against some of the top players in the world as a Stellar Division goalkeeper for V-League Season 42. It wasn't at Eastal Lunar that Milake would make a name for himself, however. The young Vilitan goalkeeper opened his International Career with four-consecutive clean sheet performances and earned a place as a reserve player on the World Cup 67 World XI team. The performances for the National Team would earn Milake a transfer to Lonngeylin Coast after Eastal Lunar's Season 42 relegation. World Cup 68 Would be a coming out part for Milake who was in goal for the Jungle Cats as they lifted the World Cup Trophy for the first time in 48 editions with a 4-2 win over the Free Republics, making Milake one of the youngest starting netminders to win the World Cup. Milake's domestic career wouldn't go as smoothly, however, and after spending 2 seasons in the Declasse after Lonngeylin Coast's relegation, the World Cup winner returned to his roots, re-signing for high-flying Eastal Lunar in Season 46.

GK ( AGE: 27 CAPS: 9 :: GOALS:0 ) :: [ N/R ]
Issah graduated from the Crosaibi Academy in time for the end of Marine Coast United's Season 37 campaign. After being named Marine Coast's player of the season during the first professional campaign, Issah was named Declasse player of the season during Season 38. Issah was a member of the Vilita & Turori Eel-Cat things squad that won back-to-back championships during AOCAF 41 & 42. After remaining dedicated to the cause at Marine Coast United for 10 seasons, Issah finally took the jump to the Stellar Division switching down the coast to Lonngeylin Coast for Season 49.

As a bonus, Baracelv made their debut regionally for Vilita & Turori winning AOCAF 42. Consistent performances for the National Team earned Baracelv a spot as a regular in the Vilitan side and the young defenders performances in World Cup 68, including being a starting player in the World Cup Final, earned him a transfer to Jlinal Cove for V-League season 44. Baracelv returned to Alikki-Corra to help his former club during Season 48

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 93 ] G.Q Disterfred II [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team. Disterfred was a member of the AOCAF 41 Championship Winning side, but did not start any of the 7 matches en-route to the title. When head coach Nycflala Kater took a back seat early in the competition during AOCAF 42, however, Disterfred had his chance to play as Vilita & Turori earned their second consecutive AOCAF title. However, Disterfred's domestic career took a negative turn when Inura Forests were relegated out of the Vilitan League, prompting a cross-country transfer to the Kionao Locals in the Declasse division. Despite the strong leadership of Lita Adjei and good performances in the UICA Competitions, Kionao was unable to get promoted and eventually Disterfred would move to Turoki Isle in order to get a chance to play in the Stellar Division. Having played his whole career in Vilita, Disterfred was eventually convinced to return home to Turori when the chance to play at Cednia Beach AFC was presented, Disterfred being named the replacement for retiring Vilitan netminder Jaqe Planst.

Playing in a unique role, Tuirma will be expected to fill the role of being able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there are no subs left. Tuirma will certainly be starting as a substitute during their debut campaign in World Cup 62 but may get the chance to start against weaker opposition. After being brought up through the academy system at Kionao, Tuirma signed a professional contract with Colonial Sile in Vilita for Season 35, winning silverware in the first match, the Tropical Trophy triumph over Strike. Tuirma's stay in Sile didn't last long, however, coaxed back to the luxury of Arcticala Inlet to help in their Champions-Cup qualifying campaign of Season 38.
