Rosters Thread

Welcome one and all to the seventy-fourth edition of the World Cup, the longest running sport competition in NationStates! In this thread competing nations may post their squad lists or rosters for their national football teams. All competing nations are encouraged to provide information about their players, managers, coaching staff, stadium(s), kits, tactics, team history, schedule, and any other useful IC information they deem fit to include.

Some general requirements to post a good roster (or at least one that will avoid giving your opponents headaches) are at least a starting 11, bench and/or reserves, a manager, a formation, and a style modifier (ranging from -5 to +5). In case you forgot, a style modifier basically determines whether your NT plays an offensive style or a defensive one. The higher the modifier, the more offensive-minded your team will be, the more goals you will score and the more goals you will concede in return. In contrast, the lower the modifier, the more defensive-minded your team will be, you will score fewer goals but you will concede fewer as well. Remember that you are always free to choose a style mod of 0 for a neutral style of playing.

OOC conversations should be directed to the World Cup Discussion Thread. A link to this thread can be found above. Repeated and/or excessive OOC spamming in any of the competition's IC threads (RP, Results, and this one) may lead to a reset of the competitor's RP bonus, at the discretion of the hosts. Mods, hosts, and WCC leadership may post organizational information as necessary.

And last but not least, as a matter of courtesy to other fellow participants, please include the following RP permissions box along with your roster. When writing an RP, always remember to consider the RP permissions set by your opponent:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Yes/No
Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes/No
Godmod Other Events: Yes/No

Fireboltian National Soccer Team

Nickname: The Flying Broomsticks
Style Modifier: +5.0
Formation: 9-0-1

The Fireboltians are literal broomsticks. They are very used to Quidditch, so as such, they are extremely fast and high-scoring, but can't defend.

Manual of Style

- All Fireboltian broomsticks have a brand name and a three-character serial number.
- If you are referring to the players, use both the serial number and the model name for clarity.
- The only exception to this is King Super Fast. He gets to have an actual name of sorts, because he's king.
- Also, these broomsticks cannot be damaged, so keep that in mind.
- Don't ask how the brooms play without legs. They just do.
- Only two substitutes are listed. Broomsticks don't get tired, so they don't need subs. The subs are there in case somebody gets red-carded.

Goalies

#1 King Super Fast

Defenders

#2 BackFooty DA9

Forwards

#3 Shooter BS6
#4 Shooter JS4
#5 Shooter PZ3
#6 Shooter MS4
#7 Shooter LA8
#8 Shooter PS7
#9 Shooter XB3
#10 Shooter KO1
#11 Shooter TH9

Substitutes

#23 Shooter KW2
#24 Shooter ND5

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No.
RP injuries to my players: The brooms cannot be injured. Do not kill my brooms.
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: No
Hand out red cards to my players: Once a match.
Godmod other events: No

Here is the Gregoryisgoidstan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Dead Ex-Coach: Cheese Police PX010A0ZX
Interim Head Coach: Secret Police Agent Dominic Button
Assistant Coaches: Slave Beater 8AUSUJA and Horse Beater LOICHESDRACKX394EUD

Gregoryisgodistani names have the title first, which is usually whatever job they have. Then comes either the government ID sequence (for commoners) or the name (for government VIP's.) If that is the same, they are the same person even if the title is different. However, government VIPs can change their name whenever they want.

All players play domestically in the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League except as noted. Only government VIPs are permitted to play club soccer outside Gregoryisgodistan. All clubs are accurate as of the last UICA cycle.

Lineup:

GK Prune Farmer 3818F - Prune Farmers FC (Age 21)
DL Police Agent Jorge Warlord - FC 17 June (Age 28)
DC Enemy Crusher Fatty Footy - AC Enemy Crushers (Age 23)
DC Prune Farmer HUXU88238ASF - Prune Farmers FC (Age 24)
DR Slave Catcher I913AFBSBFI239 - Police Squad (Age 26)
DMC History Teacher CZDE9745 - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 25)
ML Soldier 0EDCK13DHI - Military FC (Age 24)
MR Prune Farmer 913881 - FC 17 June (Age 32)
OMC Guy Who Cleans Up Behind The Elephant at the Circus P0120AZNNAU - FC 17 June (Age 23) (A)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Xylocrap Notatypo - FC 17 June (Age 19)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death to San Jose Guayabal -Winnipeg United (Quebec) (Age 29) (C)

Bench:

GK TV Repairman 99SFIDSF - November 5 SC (Age 20)
GK Youth IKDUCHALAD - Coastal Soccer Club (Age 15)
DL/DC Youth XILE42 - FC 17 June (Age 17)
DC Prune Farmer LISHERWIZE - Prune Farmers FC (Age 20)
DC Police Officer YSHERKOW91239 - Police Squad (Age 26)
DR Slave Beater YUSEAXA - FC 17 June (Age 23)
ML Hacker Fred'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- - Rouyn-Noranda Coal Diggers FC (Quebec) (Age 25)
ML/MR Pervert Chaser KIS9DLLMZMAABDB - Missile Minders (Age 29)
MC/OMC/DMC Slave Beater SUAXMC91 - FC 17 June (Age 25)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe - Real Campo Grande (Valladares) (Age 26)
FW Soccer Captain Laredo Potato - London FC (Quebec) (Age 32)

Notes: For the first time in a long time, Soccer Captain Laredo Potato will not be in the regular lineup. His skills are in decline as evidenced by his poor showing at World Cup 72, and he is no longer in the starting lineup. Obviously he no longer is captain either.... Youth IKDUCHALAD is the youngest player ever to be named to a Gregoryisgodistani senior squad, but as the third-string goalkeeper, it is unlikely he will ever play. Indeed, behind two young goalkeepers on the depth chart, he may never play.... This is a very young back line as three of the four starters (plus the starting defensive midfielder) retired following World Cup 72.... Soldier 0EDCK13DHI is one of two members of Military FC not to be killed in the Great War, mainly because he was playing with the national team.... As part of an effort to have all citizens identify with Lord Almighty Gregory, the Gregoryisgodistani government eliminated birthdays except for Lord Almighty Gregory's, and all citizens will see their ages increase on June 1, the Gregoryisgodistani New Year. Lord Almighty Gregory's Birthday is June 17. All citizens must give him a present.

OOC: If you don't get the hacker reference, see this comic. If you still don't get it, entering that name as a database input in certain programming languages will delete all the rosters from the file. Feel free to RP this crashing your computers or something like that.

Uniforms (by Libertad Sportswear):
Image

From left to right, our home kit, our away kit, and our third kit (in case of clash.)

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, the newly rebuilt national stadium in Capital District. It was rebuilt following the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a false flag by Gregoryisgodistan's government) and seats 175,617. It is a guaranteed sellout for every game since people will be forced to attend if it does not sell out.

These crimes are punishable by death in Gregoryisgodistan. While we are somewhat more lenient for foreigners, if you flagrantly violate them while in Gregoryisgodistan you will be punished severely. Probably fatally. So don't do it. As an example of what is flagrant and what isn't, farting quietly or privately will be overlooked if you are a foreigner, but holding a "Who can have the smelliest fart" contest in public will get all the farters executed.

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post. And don't flagrantly violate the laws of Gregoryisgodistan while in Gregoryisgodistan and expect to get away with it. Taunting us with chants of "coconut" or shirtless fans while we are playing away or at neutral sites is fine and encouraged, but if you try it in Gregoryisgodistan, those fans are probably going to die. Painfully. Which is fine by me if it’s OK with you. TG me if you have questions as to what is flagrant and what isn’t. Also, no completely unrealistic scoring events such as 80 meter goals.

Notes

Following a disastrous World Cup 72 Finals, Rule Theriault's National Soccer Team has been returned to him. Theriault previously managed the team for 6 World Cup cycles and, though the 70th World Cup cycle was particularly ugly for his team, Theriault had several impressive accomplishments as the manager of this team. Assembling a team of high school dropouts, reform school stars and other rogues of society, Theriault created a cohesive unit that, at one point, were able to beat the best teams in the multiverse by the sheer power of their belief in themselves and in the inherent superiority of the Republican people. This was never exemplified more than during World Cup 68, when Theriault's predictions that his team would win the World Cup on home soil were laughed at by pretty much everybody outside of his own nation. However, few were laughing when a series of miraculous victories saw the Republicans knock off the supposedly unbeatable Polar Islandstates and earn a spot in the World Cup final. Then, it all began to fell apart as Theriault threw a fit over the decision, by his co-hosts from Legalese, to hold the match in Legalese. The team came out flat in that match and began a decline that eventually led to the nationalization of Theriault's team by Consul Kulseth.

Petrus Fadius was hand-picked by Kulseth to manage the team and he had some success doing so, leading the team to a third place finish at World Cup 71 and to consecutive World Cup qualifications, on merit, for the first time ever. However, the "Holy Republican" National Team did not win a single match at the World Cup 72 finals and Consul Nicholls, after the fall of the Holy Republican regime, returned the ownership of the team to Theriault as one of many actions intended to bring about a restoration of the old Federation of Free Republics. However, the Free Republics once again elected a demagogue, this time Kaleb O'Reilly, who quickly sought to isolate the nation from the rest of the multiverse, closing off the borders, prohibiting contact with the outside world and establishing a totalitarian police state.

The Republic of Falatulu, located on an island to the south of the rest of the Free Republics, recently declared itself independent. As they did so, the entire organization formerly known as the Republican National Team was within the borders of Falatulu and elected to remain in Falatulu in order to represent the newly independent nation. Surprisingly, after several nations promised to fight for the independence of Falatulu, Consul O'Reilly elected not to send any troops to force them back into the FFR, allowing the secessionists of Falatulu, led by President Abelino Greece, to remain independent, for now.

The team is built around the star trio of Koby Theodore, Connie Chase and Kyle Bolton. The polarizing Theodore, who is widely hated outside of the Free Republics but beloved within his home nation, is the best of the group. Connie Chase is the star of Trojana Condommakers FC in Quebec and the team's sole female player, though other women have played for the Republican National Team in the past. She was left off the team for World Cups 71 and 72 because of Fadius's belief that women don't belong on the pitch, but is now joining the starting lineup for the first time. Bolton, like Theodore, is a controversial figure with a juvenile rap sheet a mile long and a reputation as the most famous playboy in the Free Republics. Although Bolton and Theodore have both settled down these days and no longer court controversy like they used to, they remain 2 of the most hated and most talented men in international soccer today.

More information on the stadium can be found in my IC information for World Cup 68.

National Anthem (Tune)

We are a band of brothers and sisters native to the soil
Fighting for our liberty with treasure, blood, and toil
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star!

Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Island rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

As long as the Federation was faithful to her trust
Like friends and like brethren, kind were we, and just
But now, when Northern treachery attempts our rights to mar
We hoist on high the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Island rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

First gallant Abelino nobly made his stand
Then came the People who took him by his hand
Next, quickly the Multiverse came to our aid
All raised on high the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Island rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

All men of valor gather round the banner of the right
Rise on up and join us in the fight
May our beloved President a true statemen alway be
Now rally round the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Island rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Then here's to our Republic, strong we are and brave,
Like patriots of old we'll fight, our freedom to save;
And rather than submit to tyranny, to die we would prefer,
So cheer for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Island rights, hurrah!
Hurrah for the Lilly White Flag that bears a single star.

Notes

This is the same Feministvs Sanctvsterra team that previously competed in Qualifying for World Cup 67. At that time, they were regarded as a terrorist organization by the government of Saintland, which was boycotting the World Cup after losing a host vote. In reality, they were a radical feminist group that had used controversial tactics to promote themselves. Feministvs Sanctvsterra members, at that time, used false names in order to protect their safety. Now, they are a political party which is part of the ruling coalition in the Sanctii Parliament.

They are a defensive-minded team. Due to the circumstances under which members of the organization lived, the Feministvs Sanctvsterra Soccer Team has high levels of team chemistry. They lived their lives on the run from the authorities for several years, so members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra are deeply loyal to one another and to their organization. This loyalty translates into team-oriented play, with a focus on gaining and maintaining possession rather than attacking.

Although the Feministvs Sanctsterra Soccer Team does not include any male players, the idea that Feministvs Sanctvsterra is all female is a common misconception. Around 10 percent of the group's membership is male, mostly comprised of brothers of the group's members.

After years of political and economical strife, the Gators of Walkany are back for another shot at World Cup Qualifying. The Super Liga was disbanded in that time period, as well as a large section of Walkany seceding to become the Republic of Zoronya, forcing the majority of Super Liga players into the Zoronya Football League. This caused a slight drop in professional Walkany athletes, though it also increased their skill due to having to fight for spots in the ZFL. Now, they are ready to compete again for a spot in the Finals.

Starting XI
Goal Keeper:Gerold Klempner - 29 y/o - #1 - Pincikalo City FC - Klempner has been the starting keeper for his club since its inception. His shot stopping ability has come in extra handy during penalties, but his distribution skills leave much to be desired. Pincikalo has felt both of these effects throughout the years. Many seemingly unstoppable goals have been saved, but he also has seemed to create those situations due to giving the ball away a little too often. Although he is now one of the most famous and more skilled footballers in the East, it was not always this way. He grew up in a harsh home where his parents were alcoholics. Gerold struggled to find structure for years, but always found solace in football. Then, when the National Walkany Youth Academy noticed him, Klempner had his chance for a real life. He made spectacular performances, securing his name in the Academy for years. Once the ZFL was formed, Gerold was oone of the first signed to Pincikalo City's team and from there he has built his name as one of the greats. Now, Klempner wants to increase his fame on the international stage.

Left Back:Kaden Ilbert - 24 y/o - #2 - Azmarin United - Ilbert is a regular starter for his club and is always a contester for the Western Conference All-Star Team. He is a quick fullback that loves to get into the attack. Many claim he has the best crossing out of any player in the West, though he has more humble outlooks on his abilities. Despite what the Zoronya media would leave you to believe, he is as unselfish as professionals come. He donates most of his pay check to charity and homeless shelters while also giving large amounts of his free time to serve the community of Azmarin. He visits his small hometown of München Bay less often than he likes, though still writes letters to his parents every week. Aside from all this, his cheerful personality make it easy to be around him, especially because he does not expect anything out of anyone. This makes him a hero back in Walkany, but all of the hard work off the pitch drains him. By the end of a season, it is obvious how tough it is to keep up that discipline. Before Qualifying training began, the Azmarin United coaches gave him an extra week off to recuperate, with the hopes that he could do his very best during the international football tournament.

Left Center Back:Kenith Sams - 30 y/o - #3 - Heartpuddle FC - The veteran of Walkany town and Zoronyan club, has not aged well. He is not as fast or strong as he used to be, but his experience makes up for all of that. Sams can usuallly tell what an attacker is going to do with the ball, giving him time that he could not make up for otherwise. Recently there has been some controversy that surrounded him after several photos of him consuming the infamous Faulen- one of the cheapest yet tastiest beers in neighboring Zlatan Land- were taken. Many fans have mocked him and others hearts were broken, but Sams ignored it all. He became even more focused on his game, an attribute that has served him well throughout his career. Now, even if he makes another blunder such as his infamous injury time own goal to give Misgan FC a crucial win this past season, he can move past it as easily as lacing up his boots.

Right Center Back:Grayson Rains - 31 y/o - #4 - Heartpuddle FC - Rains and Sams are a perfect team, making a stone wall defence at the back for Heartpuddle. Their teamwork makes a difficult challenge for any attacker, though neither of them are physically very strong or fast. Rains is a strong leader and knows how to organize at the back, which will come in handy with the younger defenders on the squad. His leadership comes mostly from having to take care of his younger siblings in a bad neighborhood after his parents left. For years, Grayson had to provide for them while also going to school and keeping them out of trouble, yet he still managed to practice football as often as he could. Eventually, his sister and brother were both adopted, but by that time he was too old to be considered. Before he slipped into the slippery slope of crime, a scout for Heartpuddle FC found him and within days had him signed to the U-18 team. Weeks following the signing, Rains became the U-18 captain. After years of service in the U-18's and U-21's, Grayson became the young but capable captain of the senior team and from there he became one of the most legendary defenders Walkany has ever known. Now, he is looking to cement his name in Walkany footballing history with some impressive displays in World Cup Qualifying.

Right Back:Cam Roach - 22 y/o - #5 - Westbridge FC - This full back is a menacing brute of a man that uses speed and strength to overpower more skilled opponents. He usually knows what to do with the ball, even if his lack of technical ability keeps him from doing most of it. He famously made a controversial hard tackle on rival player Rens Evyane Laar in the quarter final of the past Zoronya Club Cup, stopping what would have surely been a goal, and then allowing Westbridge to counter attack and score the game winner. To some he is a hero, to others he is a villian. To him, he is just a football player. That game, along with many similar game changing events has earned him a massive reputation as an enforcer on the field, which many referees note before heading into the game. No one knows much about Roach's background. He showed up to Westbridge's training during the off season four years ago and somehow convinced the coaches to give him a trial where he quickly earned him a spot on the team. Questions aimed towards his background usually end up with Cam giving the asker a cold stare or he ends the conversation then and there. It's said the board members and owners are the only ones who know, with efforts to keep his past on the down low. Rumor has it that he is not a native Walkian, that he is from a far flung country, but most consider it rubbish concocted by the media.

Center Defensive Midfielder:Niklas Short - 23 y/o - #6 - Southend Spartans - Niklas lives up to his last name easily. Being only 5 feet (152.4 centimeters), most think of him as weak and incompetent. This is exactly the opposite of who he really is. Short is very skilled with the ball, excellent at powerful long shots, and can muscle the average player off of the ball. Jumping, obviously, is not his strong suit so he makes up for it with his speed and agility. He also has a great eye for interceptions, making him crucial for the Spartans. Some would say Short's background is quite boring, but a successful one. He played for the highly renowned Ranaeri United, a youth team that has been around since the beginnings of the Super Liga. Niklas was one of the best players on his team, earning a Player of the Year award in Ranaeri's district the year before he moved on to play for the National Walkany Youth Academy. From there he joined Southend, quickly earning his pay and becoming a major player at the club. This past season he was named to the Western All-Star team where he stopped substitute, potential national team player, and Linden Cuevas' brother, Roux Cuevas from scoring a game winning goal, making him the runner-up for the Man of the Match.

Left Midfielder:Paxton Casales - 21 y/o - #7 - Twin City Pine Martens FC - Casales is a flamboyant wide midfielder that loves to run at the defense. His dribbling ability combined with his pace make him a player to be feared in the ZFL, though any defender that has above average strength can push him off of the ball easily enough. Last season, he had the highest number of completed dribbles, allowing a great number of created chances, assists, and goals. Unfortunately, the Twin Cities could not have the rest of their team perform that well. They finished in fifth place, where they were subsequently knocked out in the playoffs by fourth placed Azmarin United and did not even make it to the round of sixteen in the ZCC where Eastern team Harley Palace Knights defeated them three-nil. The national team coaches saw the bright spot he made on the Pine Martens and are willing to make use of it. Not many can say they have had an upbringing as exciting as Paxton's. At age four, he traveled around the region with his family. Two years later, his mother took him on a sail boat, teaching him all there is to know about them, and then they went on a three month voyage. At eight, he made a peak attempt on the Exewrale Mountains in Western Walkany with his father. Once he turned twelve and discovered his passion for football, he began what turned out to be his career. Casales rapidly gained a foothold in the footballing world, being discovered quickly by the dual owned Twin City and New Cresthill Youth Academy, yet he was over looked for selection when the rest of the U-18's came around. Due to the strict rules of the dual ownership, the Pine Martens had no say until New Cresthill had looked everyone over. This gave them the chance to sign him, but they still did not until a year later when he was given a U-21 contract for the Twin Cities. Then he flew through the ranks, impressing in every outing, earning his spot on the team.

Right Midfielder:Ezekiel Mata - 22 y/o - #8 - Flirado United FC - Mata is mostly known in Zoronya and Walkany for his flashy lifestyle, but precise passing and a good eye for when and where to make a run keep him on the footballing radar. He loves to pass the killer ball which has resulted in him having the highest amount of assists in the ZFL Eastern Conference for two consecutive years. These assists have earned Flirado United several important positions in the past few years, including a Zoronya Club Cup win two years ago, a conference final spot that same year, and a conference win last year. Ezekiel lived in a sheltered home where his single mother tried to protect him from the troubles of the world. Despite years of this, he managed to play plenty of football even though it was only on his school team. For every one of his four varsity football years, he was named to the All-Regional team and in the last two he had the highest number of assists in the nation. Mata quickly gained renown as a fantastic playmaker and was a target for a number of teams, but his hometown of Kings City offered him a nice contract to their U-21 semi-professional team, which he promptly took. Ezekiel began enjoying his new found freedoms away from home maybe a little too well, earning himself a reputation as unpredictable and possibly even unstable. Although he had troubles with police, as well as an occasional discipline issue, Ezekiel played for them only two years before Flirado United, a team located directly across the Zoronyan border, offered the young man a large contract to play for them. So, at the age of nineteen, Mata joined one of the best teams in the Eastern conference where not only his career took off, his attitude got better and he was able to appreciate freedom from a sheltered home without causing trouble.

Center Attacking Midfielder:Rafe Mingo - 24 y/o - #11 - Austen Argonauts - Mingo is the "controller" for the Argonauts. He loves to have the ball passed to him and he loves even more to pass it, though he often stays deeper than his normal central attacking position. His pace makes up for his lack in strength, though he is more than willing to challenge any player for the ball. There is not much to say about him other than his extremely laid back lifestyle on and off the pitch which has earned his last name a new meaning:Seoyepera Setehoneera, which literally means 'super stoner'. This might also have to do with his long, unkempt hair and beard style. Rafe's laid back lifestyle comes from years of living on the most visited beach in Walkany, the Snow Sands. He loved to surf, swim, and relax on the beach every day he was not out playing football. Mingo dropped out of school very early to pursue a career in surfing, a sport in which he excelled at. He has won several national surfing competitions, including the most recent edition, while also playing football professionally strangely as a way to support his career. Many people, as well as his family, love Rafe for his down to earth attitude, but think he could become one of the greatest Walkian midfielders in history if he were to put his mind to it. Mingo will not though, insisting that his love for surfing cannot be overcome by his passion for football, even if he knows that he could be one of the best. For him, it is a blessing and a curse, yet he looks at it all the same: it is what it is.

Left Striker/Captain:Linden Cuevas - 27 y/o - #9 - Flirado United FC - He is currently at his peak in his career, scoring the second most goals in the ZFL Eastern Conference this past season and being the top goal scorer the season before. He led his team to a Zoronya Club Cup win two seasons ago, defeating rival team Giinesville FC in the final. He also helped to achieve a conference final the same year, and a conference win this past season all thanks to his prolific goal scoring. He is the leader for his club and many are looking for him to be the leader for his country. The coaches knew this, and named him captain. Linden was originally going to join the Walkian military before the government cut off any funding, making it totally dependent on contracts with government regulated businesses. Confused, but determined to make something out of his life, he began playing football for the semi-professional team Wandelaar Cosmos. At only age eighteen, Cuevas earned a reputation as a great goal scorer, a reputation that spread faster than he could imagine. Within weeks of making his debut for the part-time club, Linden was contacted by a number of Zoronyan clubs, looking for his signature. After several trials with the likes of Alabimi, the Pine Martens, and even New Cresthill, he decided on signing with Flirado United, a team that not only promised good football, but a comfortable setting as well. During his years at the U-21 facilities, the striker made a large impression as a leader, though was not handed the captain's armband until half a decade into his senior team career. He earned that position through blood, sweat, and tears. It was something the club was happy to give to him for years of hard work that helped raised the club to its current reputation.

Right Striker:Kenyon Rios - 20 y/o - #10 - Giinesville FC - Rios is the biggest rival striker to Cuevas forcing the two of them to battle each season out for the top goal scorer position. Despite Rios' age, his three years of playing have given him plenty of experience. He excels at free kicks and penalties, though often times will crack when under pressure from a confident defender. A third of his free kicks were converted to goals throughout the past three seasons. This has been a driving factor for his team in the league, especially against less experienced goal keepers. He is aiming to get back at Cuevas for knocking his team out of the ZCC final two years ago, but Giinseville has not seemed to be able to defeat Flirado since then. Rios hopes the exposure to Cuevas' playing style will give him an edge the next time the two rival teams meet, but for now they train together like any normal teammate would. His most notable achievement aside from his goal scoring abilities is leading his team to defeat New Cresthill FC, a power house in Zoronya, during last season's ZCC round of sixteen. He helped his team come from three goals down by scoring a second half hat trick to equalize and then making the final assist for the game winning goal in over time.

Formation: Diamond 4-4-2
Corner Kicks:Ezekiel Mata
Short Free Kicks:Kenyon Rios
Long Free Kicks:Kaden Ilbert
Penalties:Kenyon Rios
Captain:Linden Cuevas
Vice-Captain:Grayson Rains
Most likely to foul:Cam Roach
Most likely to be "fouled":Kenyon Rios
Most likely to be injured:Rafe Mingo

Substitutions
Goal Keeper:Toller Pauliño - 19 y/o - #12 - New Cresthill FC - The young goal keeper is a product of the advanced New Cresthill youth academies. He played for several years on Cresthill's reserve team and has even made a half dozen appearances in the ZCC. Good work ethic has been the driving factor in his success. This has impressed many of the older generation who believe that work ethic is being replaced due to the immediateness of technology. The young goal keeper has made huge leaps and bounds towards becoming the next Walkany goal keeper, yet Gerold Klempner still has years left on him and looks to be the starter for years to come. Toller's work ethic possibly comes from growing up in northern bustling port city of Wharftown where his father was a dock worker and his mother an oyster tonger/shucker. Both of these jobs required at least ten hours a day, especially his mom who often asked her only child for help. Out on the boat, in the only place in Walkany where oysters were still tonged, the air could be freezing cold, with rain, hail, or strong winds capable of knocking most people over, but they were expected to get a minimum of four bags in a day and have all of them shucked by the sunset. Toller grew up his entire life working this hard almost everyday, receiving little in the way of a formal education, but he was able to play football most nights with the guys from the docks. It was a mixed group of ages, some old enough to be Pauliño's grandfather, others around his age, and then everything in between. Although the adults were rough enough that they usually did not let the children play very long, Toller overcame by finding little tricks to beat his bigger opponents. This aggravated everyone bigger than he, so they put him in goal where once again he found techniques in how to play, further frustrating the adults. Despite their anger, they saw his strengths as a good goal keeper so they continued to put him there before a man in a suit came and found him. He stood at the edge of the field for hours until everyone stopped playing to go home and that is when the scout approached Toller and his father. From there, the Pauliño family moved to New Cresthill so their son could pursue a better life than past generations. At only age thirteen, Toller joined one of the most renowned schools in Zoronya, hoping to bring his family some financial security and comforts that they had never known.

Goal Keeper:Aron Mariana - 30 y/o - #18 - Harley Palace Knights - This starting keeper was a fireman before he signed with the Knights. His former job prepared him physically to be a goal keeper, though he still lacks somewhat for positioning and reaction time. Aron's great physique make him very intimidating, especially when combined with his dark, brooding manner. This has come in handy during intense club games when tensions were high and he had to act angry towards the other team to warn them off. Despite this, he is actually just a giant teddy bear whose favorite thing next to football is landscape painting. Aron's lifelong dream was to play football professionally, but he was always just shy of his destiny by situations such as being the runner-up for a spot on a college team, being passed up by the National Walkany Youth Academy because of a knee injury, and also not having the funds to participate in trials for semi-pro and pro teams. While working as a fireman, his father's profession, he met Athan Matis at a goal keeper training camp where he befriended the coach and the two of them were quickly working together. Matis gave Mariana the right pointers to bring his game to the next level, which was enough to impress the Harley Palace Knights into giving Aron a trial half way through a season. He ended up becoming their starting keeper, earning the spot from several veteran Zoronyan goal keepers.

Full Back:Vipond Barnabas - 31 y/o - #13 - Heartpuddle FC - He is part of the legendary Heartpuddle FC defense, though with his growing age he has lost much of his endurance, turning him into a sub' more than a starter. Despite this, he continues to work just as hard as before and sometimes even stays with the younger lads to help train them further. Barnabas is also talented at long passing on the ground or in the air. He and Kaden Ilbert have taken several days after national team practices to have crossing contests to see who is the best. More often than not, Ilbert won, but Barnabas' passes always had a grace to them where Kaden's were more rushed. The Redding born man gave him a unique perspective on life in the industrious city. He saw much of the potential that new technology and hard work can bring, while also receiving a taste of true capitalism in the not so capitalistic country of Walkany, yet he also saw the scum and villiany of it too. Vipond struggled with this his entire life, trying to figure out if it was worth it to have that much economic freedom if it meant that someone, somewhere would not be as well off, possibly suffering. Because of this, the natural born Walkian took a long soul searching trek through the Zale mountains at only age seventeen, looking for what he truly believed and not what had poisoned his mind. After returning from the four month trip, Vipond refused to go back to his home in Redding, much to the dismay of his family. Instead, Barnabas found a home in Heartpuddle, a city more accustomed to his new free market, but also charitable ways. He planned to find a way to make Reppeps so he could begin giving to those that did not have enough without upsetting the fragile economy. His uncles both played in the Super Liga, one with Redding and the other with Southturkton, giving Vipond a deep background in football. They helped raise him, so it is no surprise that he excelled at the sport, playing for semi-professional team Superlona at age fifteen before his trek. This made his choice of money making an obvious one, so he tried out for several semi-professional teams. Each of them begged for Barnabas to play for them and he considered it until a scout from Heartpuddle FC found him and gave him a trial. He performed well at the club training grounds, making quick friends with Rains and Smith who helped him to get signed to the team where he makes a hefty salary, though most of it is donated to those that do not have enough of their own.

Center Back:Alex Olivier - 21 y/o - #19 - Orrinshire City FC -He is a giant at the back for his team. Standing at six and a half feet tall (198 centimeters), Olivier is unafraid to fly into any challenge, which has sometimes given away penalties when they could have been prevented. Despite this, his almost over confident take on the game has many positive effects, such as the unwavering patriotism for his country. He believes truly deep down in his heart that Walkany can and will win the World Cup. This is somewhat infectious, though not quite as effective for others as it is for him. Being born in Orrinshire is difficult due to the fact that it is now converted into a Zoronyan city which caused his father to declare himself a Zoronyan while his mother wanted to stay Walkian, forcing turmoil in the house. Alex was only just getting his bearings on this whole puberty thing when it happened, so he became confused which often caused problems within his school and home life. The constant arguing of his parents combined with the every other day fights at school with kids whose parents all declared as Zoronyan made life difficult. Everything seemed to cave in on Alex until he stepped onto the field. Whe he got out there suddenly everything would seem as if it would be alright. Many of the kids he fought were on the school football team, so it was no easy task to play, but Olivier enjoyed it nonetheless. This only made him a better defender, forcing Alex to use his height and willingness to battle it out to win every game while also keeping a positive attitude. At age seventeen, right after he graduated high school, the young center back was given a trial at Orrinshire's U-18 academy. Small though it was, the club managed to find some good players, including Alex, and began building a team. He and his fellow peers were brought up through the youth programs until they all recently graduated the U-21 team, giving them a first season in the ZFL. Although Alex Olivier is the only one to be called up, he and the rest of his class strangely named "The Boys" (supposedly for a classic rock song from old Walkany singer/songwriter Big Lazz that was played the day they graduated from the U-18's) all performed spectacularly, though the huge center half particularly stood out. His defensive performances are due to his background in "rough n' tough football", as he calls it, and even greater is his abillity to bounce back from mistakes, which happends to be another skill learned in the Zoronyan school system. Despite Alex's father divorcing his mother and leaving to go deeper into Zoronyan territory, the young man hopes that his dad seeing his performances on television will help them reconnect.

Center Back:Kennedy Kemp - 20 y/o - #14 - Misgan FC - "KK", or "Yakyak" in Walkian, is another product of the New Cresthill youth academies, though after seeing his potential, Misgan shelled out a large sum to have him. He has proven himself time and time again as a solid defender, but he can be somewhat of a hothead. Kemp also used to have a problem with handballs back in his U-18 days and the habit will pop back up during intense situations. The coaches from the national team love his physicality and aggressiveness which is one of the main reasons he was brought along. KK's quick to anger attitude is from a childhood full of being bullied as the youngest of five boys in a small home. He had to fight for everything, even his chance to practice football before he was old enough to be accepted to the youth academy at age ten, which embarrassed his brothers (for the fact they did not get accepted despite trying out) enough to receive a harsh beating. This only strengthened Kennedy's need to fight, but according to his contract he could no longer do it off the field, so he began "roughing" players on the field, which for most people would diminish their chances of being selected for the next class several years down the line. However this ability done right made Kemp an invaluable player for his youth team, so he continued the practice to get where he is now.

Left Midfielder:Kai Foerstner - 28 y/o - #15 - Erogin United FC - Kai is a a good player overall, though he does particularly well at winning the ball in the air. He does not lack for passion when his team is a goal down, as has happened so much in the past few seasons with Erogin United. The team can always count on him to have their backs, no matter what. His fierce loyalty usually pays off very well, earning him friends that pay him back with the same amount of loyalty. Though at the same time, it often gets him in trouble on and off the pitch. During games when someone starts a fight with one of his teammates, Kai has verged on the edge of violence to defend his friends. Outside of work, similar situations occur, though usually only in the off season when they go to a bar. Kai's loyal personality comes form being raised by a military family that has had several veterans in the series of NSSP regional wars. His mother was in the army, though she is not old enough to have fought in the last war, but his father is who was a naval engineer that saw plenty of action, having three of the ships he served on sunk. They both made sure to instill in their son the lessons they learned in the military: strong work ethic, discipline, and loyalty. These have made Kai who he is today and were key to developing him into a great football player, even if he does not have the spectacular displays that others do.

Right Midfielder:Rens Evyane Laar - 25 y/o - #16 - Eastbridge United - In what he lacks in technical skill, Rens makes up for in other ways. He is brilliant, knowing exactly where to be at all times and knowing where to make a pass. He looks for every advantage when it comes to the mental side of the game and is renowned as one of the most intelligent players in the ZFL. Many believe he'll be the next great Walkian manager, though he focuses mostly on his own game. Rens comes from a family of rich CEO's and bankers, giving him a very unique background compared to most of the other players on the team. With plenty of money, he was sent to the best school on Walkany, while a private soccer coach was hired to train him in his free time. Rens had every advantage to become a great player, but nothing seemed to be able to develop his physical skill. Throughout his teenage years, his private coach and team coach struggled to help him become faster or stronger, but these proved his worst attributes. The only thing he seemed good at was the theoretical side of the game, so eventually that is all he focused on. His school work became second to him as he studied football more than every other player on the team. Just about every waking minute was spent watching, reading, and learning about his sport, so eventually he knew that he could play professionally despite his obvious deficiencies.

Center Defensive Midfielder:Franky Pitts - 19 y/o - #20 - Flirado United FC - Pitts is a technically gifted youngster that graduated through the Flirado Youth Academy to the U-18 team and then the U-21 team. He has made several appearances for the senior team and has impressed in each of them. The national coaches were very excited to have such an excellent player on the squad, but the only thing keeping him from starting is his lack of physical ability. Maximus Pax, the fitness coach, will have a jolly good time training him. Franky came from a bad neighborhood, but lived with a good foster care family. He never knew his parents and was often teased for it. Much like Rens Evyane Laar, Pitts was not physically very capable. This only hindered his early years as most kids began hitting puberty, Franky was unable to defend himself. This was especially apparent in football games where he was pushed around the field like a ragdoll. Eventually he knew that to defeat his foes, he would have to increase his skill, so for at least six hours a day he dribbled, juggled, and took shots. Now, he looks back at those lessons with a pride that few others know. Franky learned lessons in his early years that he will use for the rest of his life and he will definitely need these on the national team.

Center Attacking Midfielder:Meyaoyrae'iezeiho Moore - 22 y/o - #21 - Red Reservoir Rangers - Moore graduated from the Rangers' U-21 team just after the new national team coach left the club. Adama still had a good look at him though and remembered the quality and leadership he brought to the young side. The coaches are hoping that someday he will make the next great Walkian captain. He has good ball control and specializes on headers, but is very one-footed. Moore grew up in the very well off neighborhood of Simpraemaie Vale where he learned the life lesson of hard work. Along the road, he realized that his work ethic was stronger than all of the other young adults on his youth team. This led Moore to attempt to train other athletes similar ways that he was taught. Although this often led to many broken friendships, it educated him on the ways of being a leader. His leadership has been a driving factor in his quick rise through the ranks of the Rangers.

Striker:Rayafefeyaelee "Ray" Teholehoneei - 30 y/o - #22 - Harley Palace Knights - Ray is one of the most experienced strikers in the team with over a decade worth of playing with an eye for goal, but he has a hard time getting there. His speed and endurance left him a couple of years ago so now he relies heavily on his younger teammates to pick up the slack. This has brought him some bad press, though he shrugs it off easily enough. The coaches often ask him to speak to the younger players about handling the media due to his maturity in the matters. Besides his goal scoring abilities, Ray is one of the most decorated Walkians in the ZFL. He has been named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team for each of the four years he has played for the knights, and twice to the Western All-Stars for the Southend Spartans, while also achieving two top goal scorer trophies one for each club he has played for. With the Spartans he won the Western Conference and has been in the conference final once with the Knights, though the club has struggled to do much else since then. Ray has also won a Player of the Year award in his first season with Harley Palace, the same year he received the top goal scorer trophy. Ray's first season with Southend saw him collect the goal of the year award for a heel flicked goal from outside of the box and also a newcomer of the year accolade. All of this has built up his reputation as one of the greats, yet many pundits still do not place him on the same heights as the players of past generations due to his lack of international play. With World Cup Qualifying looming, Ray is hoping to add another honor to his trophy cabinet.

Striker:Darin Evyane Andel - 17 y/o - #23 - New Cresthill FC - As a future star, but being half Zoronyan and half Walkian, he had a choice to make. He could declare himself for the future Zoronyan team or for the Gators. On the build up to the squad selection, many Zoronyan coaches tried to convince him not to join the Walkian national team, but when Adama came knocking with the promise of being selected for the World Cup Qualifying team, he could not resist. Most do not expect him to play much, though everyone hopes he will learn something from the experience. Both of his parents declared as Zoronyan when the country named its independence, so it was difficult for Darin to make this decision especially when he grew up in a very well-to-do family that has a hand in almost every major private industry in Walkany. His spoiled background gave him everything he needed to know to become a great football player, but he learned very little when it came to persevering through hard times. This can often be seen in Andel's attitude on the training ground where he can work very hard while also being whiny and annoying to those around him. The New Cresthill coaches are trying to turn his emotional development, though in the past year there has been very little progress giving them a worry that perhaps he will never get his attitude straight.

Striker:Toño "The Hog" Ebeeesyake - 18 y/o - #17 - Gloucester City - This young prodigy is looking to become the next super star of Walkany. This past season, he was named to the U-21 Western Conference All-Star team, and even scored twice in it. He still has much growing to do physically and skill wise, but he is still leaps and bounds ahead of other strikers. Although Toño can be somewhat of a ball hog, which has cost Gloucester City many goal scoring chances throughout his career so far, he creates very entertaining football. The fans love to see him run with the ball, even if it means a defender winning it back. They anticipate Toño's quick cuts and wild shots from inside the box, but rue those moments during games against stronger opponents when team work is key to winning. Toño's big head comes from years of being told he is the best. Of course he was in the Gloucester Youth Academy, out scoring every other player there for every year he attended the school, but it did no good when he arrived on the senior team. His first and currently only season in the ZFL has been filled with triumph though also plenty of despair. Gloucester has performed remarkably well and could have done better if Hog had just made a pass here or there. Throughout his youth career, Toño has done this, making a notably less amount of passes than other strikers because he could dribble past the younger, less experienced defenders and score just as easily. Though once he found out that senior team players are rougher, tougher, and plenty better at defending, a lot of his talent went to waste. Although The Hog found himself being reprimanded after games on more than one occasion due to his lack of passing, he continued to do what he thought was best. His dribbling talent ended up with some spectacular goals, but very, very few assists. Despite his apparent weaknesses, Adama has decided to bring him anyway, possibly hoping to curve his declining potential into an upwards motion. Many believe he can be the best striker in Walkany and Zoronya. Now Toño has to take that chance, or for ever be known as The Hog.

Coaching Staff
Head Coach:Adam Adama - 54 y/o - "Double A", or "Eedhooyeblee Ya" in Walkian, was the coach of Eastern Conference ZFL team Red Reservoir Rangers for almost eight successful seasons before his downfall in the last. He battled each year for the title, winning his Conference on three separate occasions and even defeated New Cresthill in the ZFL Final the year before his "Season of Doom" where the Rangers went 5-3-19, ending up in tenth place. After that he was sacked despite having two years left on his contract. He was then hired on as the national team manager after a sabbatical. He is the kind of coach that is not afraid to scream and yell at his players. Adama has even been known to get in minor physical altercations at half time in the locker room, though his former team rave about the psychological effect it has. Adama comes from a middle class background (when there still was one in Walkany) where his family took one of two routes: college or military. His apparent physical weakness made his road an obvious choice, one that was also easier considering his very high IQ. He received a PhD in Civil Law, hoping to someday become a judge. Adam was on track for his chosen career before he one day was arrested, and soon he was tried, and then proven guilty for a crime that he did not commit. Due to this, his chances of becoming a judge were slim to none, so he turned to his life long passion of football. It was something he always had an interest in, but could never compete with other players because of his physical problems. Although Adama struggled to learn skills as well, he learned the tactical side of the game faster than anyone he has ever come across. His high IQ, combined with naturally high man management skills, made Adam a perfect choice as a football coach. His first and so far only team as a head coach was with the Rangers, but he has also been an assistant coach for Heartpuddle FC for three years, and served as an agent for several Super Liga players before the league collapsed.

Assistant Coach:Micky Meeieesyakew - 45 y/o - Micky was a former player in the Super Liga and has been an assistant coach for several successful teams, including New Cresthill and the Austen Argonauts. He enjoys his job, though sometimes he is too cheerful for the Head Coach's pleasure. Most players like his attacking approach to the game and will listen to him even when they think they are right. His profound tactical knowledge comes from years of playing football for old Super Liga club Walkany City's youth and then senior team. He was a top notch striker before he tore his ACL at the age of twenty-six, consequently ending his career as player in the most competitive environment in Walkany. From there, he became one of the team's youth coaches, starting the next section of his great career. He coached for a decade, rising through the ranks to become City manager Grinning's right hand man before the Super Liga collapsed. After an embarrassing last season which would have seen his team relegated, Micky changed his name to what it is now, from John Wendel, in an attempt to escape the media. Later, once the ZFL was established, Micky took up coaching again first with Heartpuddle FC's youth team before moving on to the bigger, well funded teams.

Assistant Coach:Rimmer Reynaldo - 50 y/o - Reynaldo specializes in the technical side of the game. He helps every player with whatever skill they need to learn and loves to show off his impressive free style skills to the younger lads. His previous job was as an assistant coach for Alabimi City FC before taking the offer as a coach for the national team. One of his bigger contributions to the team, aside from the previously mentioned, is his team building exercises. These occur about two times a week and usually involve a collaborative project based on previous team performances. Although some of the players despise the activity, such as immature, hot head Kennedy Kemp and the young strikers, the rest of the team enjoys it. It has healed old wounds, while also solidifying friendships. Now many former enemies, like Cam Roach and Rens Evyane Laar, are strong teammates, even if they are not yet friends. Despite not playing football professionally, Rimmer dazzled spectators in free style competitions across the country to earn his name as one of the greats. That was also how he made his living for years before a tragic fall off of a tight rope while balancing a ball on his head. He came out mostly unharmed, but shaken to the bone and unwilling to go to the same heights (no pun intended) as before. Instead, Reynaldo followed Adam Adama's advice, who was and still is one of Rimmer's closest friends. The still young man took up coaching with a youth academy and helped create several astonishing young prospects, though most of the children under his tutelage grew up to be free stylers, attempting crazy stunts while performing tricks, just like their coach. This became his passion, where he offered endless hours to the academy to ensure that everyone of the young players would have a chance at professional football, even if it was not what they wanted to do for a living. Once the ZFL was created, he was immediately offered a coaching position with New Cresthill FC to help develop the U-18 players. After only half a year, Reynaldo canceled his contract, to great financial and emotional cost. No one is sure why he left, but the rumors flew like they do and he was in the middle of it. Seeking some solace away from it all, Rimmer went back to his hometown of Alabimi for a sabbatical from football while working for his uncle's newspaper as an editor. When Alabimi City FC realized he was home, they offered him a contract as an assistant coach to the senior team. Rimmer gladly took the position, returning to his obsession with a new zeal.

Assistant Coach:Athan Matis - 39 y/o - Matis is usually a goal keeper coach, but also helps the coordination from the man between the sticks and the defense. He knows when and where every player should be while defending the goal, though his approach is much more aggressive than most coaches prefer. He was hired on from Cicitta FC's coaching staff, where many praised his abilities to motivate the weaker side into ten consecutive clean sheets this past season. He started his footballing career trying out for Sand Spurs United after graduating college. Despite not making it past the first trial day, Athan continued to work at his profession while also taking a job as an assistant coach for his alma mater. Almost a full year after his tryout with the Spurs, he earned a trial with White Basin United where after beating out ten other potential goal keepers, Matis was offered a reserve team contract. After half a decade of competing for a spot on the first team, Athan earned his chance in a Minor Liga Kopa game against the Kings Estate Troopers. In a terrible outing which saw the new keeper concede seven goals and then receive a red card in the seventieth minute, Matis' contract was ripped up and he was told to go on his way. He attempted trials with several other teams throughout the rest of his twenties, including much coveted side Moonderland City, but he just did not have the skills that coaches were looking for and no one was looking to develop an older player. Already going up in his years, the "veteran" footballer was not offered even potential trials for any Liga team, so once again he took up coaching with his former college team. After the ZFL was formed, Athan eagerly began looking for a coaching position. He managed to get his first job with the Harley Palace Knights where he helped develop Aron Mariana into a starting goal keeper. From there, the renewed coach found only one other successful position with Cicitta FC before joining the national team.

Physio:Kasey Colobera - 30 y/o - Colobera has already been a physio for North Borough City FC for two years before taking this job during international breaks. Many praised her swiftness on the field for getting players off and back on in record times while also keeping a previously injury racked club free of serious wounds this past season. Her advice for fitness and the like is invaluable, though she can sometimes be too forceful when it comes to preventing injuries. She graduated from Wandelaar University at the top of her class with a doctorate, but instead of taking the job offer at the Cicitta Medical Research Facility like her parents insisted, Kasey decided she wanted to have a more hands on approach. It was easy to get a job with North Borough considering her abilities as a doctor and she began developing new, if peculiar, methods to keep players healthy. The only major problem is that the players will often disobey her orders on account of ill discipline or due to other matters that fill up their schedule. This has caused some tension between the players and Colobera, though it evaporates quickly when they remember how much work she does to keep them in the game, injury free.

Fitness Coach:Maximus Pax - 32 y/o - Pax travels to different sports teams around Zoronya and Walkany, advising on the best workouts to do and when to do them for each individual athlete and giving them specific meal plans to meet their needs. He is very experienced in all workouts and was very excited to take the chance to help the national team advance through Qualifying. Pax is an expert weight lifter while also having impressive speeds on track courses. The Head Coach plans to have him work very closely with Colobera to ensure the players are at maximum fitness throughout the campaign. Pax's career began after he graduated from the famous Wandelaar University with a degree in physical fitness. After leaving the school at age twenty-two, he received multiple job offers from Wandelaar based gyms and clinics, but declined them all. Maximus had known what he wanted to do since the first day he lifted weights: help everyone else lift weights. He began a business in the capital of traveling to schools and gyms, some of them being former potential jobs, and helped set up workout routines for athletes everywhere. Pax showed them all the proper forms before giving them a schedule and with his regular patients, a meal plan. After five years of this, Max had built up enough clientele plus resources to hire some help to take care of the local business while he began his current job of traveling the country to all of the professional sports teams.

Important Info
Home Stadium:Wandelaar Stadio, Wandelaar
Seating:60,000
Turf Type:Firm Ground
First International Game In Stadium:Walkany 1-2 Paymine MD1 WCQ71
First International Win In Stadium:Walkany 2-0 Castigonia MD9 WCQ71

Climate & Field

Wandelaar is a basically a climate container. Whatever the conditions happen to be, the city puts them into the extremes meaning that the usual hot days in Walkany are especially humid and dry while the rare cool days are freezing cold. The surrounding mountains only make this worse, seeming to trap hot air and clouds thick with rain in their ring of peaks. This makes it notably more difficult to play in the Wandelaar Stadio where players have been known to drop from dehydration due to the bowl like effect from the stadium. Due to the expenses of soft ground fields and the potential "rubber burn" from astro turf, the owners went with firm ground. It is not as flat or neat as soft ground, but the upkeep is much cheaper. Often times during games, the firm turf's slight bumps will cause "ghost holes" and players will step in or trip over these and fall over. The owners have done their best to grow the best grass and keep the field as neat as possible, but do not be surprised if these "holes" effect play.

Entertainment

Despite the intense heat, Wandelaar is full of entertainment. There is a National Team Bar and Restaurant two blocks from the stadium and scattered throughout the city are celebrations for home games. At these celebrations, you can expect to find grilled meats and vegetables, soft drinks, and alcohol at the more adult parties. Near the stadium are betting stalls which may or may not be illegal. Among the more popular events is the Home Game Parade which takes place twenty-four hours before the first home game. No Wandelaar citizen would miss it, and the ones that do are either dead or dying. The parade goes from the capital building to the stadium where more festivals take place.

Hotels & Transportation

For tourists and visiting teams, there are three major hotels: Kontinental in the South East, Ureinwohner to the North, and finally Zwillinge in the West. Bus routes can take you to and from any of these and the subway is less than a block away from Kontinental while it is almost a five minute walk from the Zwillinge and Ureinwohner. A train going through and around the city eventually stops near the Ureinwohner, but it is the only major hotel it has a stop by. The closest hotel to the home stadium and training grounds is Kontinental, but the other major accommodations are only an extra twenty to forty-five minutes depending on what route you take. The best way to arrive in the city is by plane in the Wandelaar Airport, but teams may also arrive by boat in Stern City before taking a short bus ride to the capital.

Language

Though the most common first language in Walkany is English, but other everyday languages are Spanish, German, Dutch, Walkian, and even Russian. Street signs are posted with English, Spanish, and German translations, though in certain neighborhoods Dutch, Walkian, and Russian renditions can be seen. One of the more rare languages spoken is Twerkish, a former nation that was conquered by its enemies. This one will only be found in North Western Walkany, but occasionally an elderly couple will visit the major cities and it will be heard.

Religion

There are many different religions in Walkany, but the two foremost are Christianity and Islam. Other less common religions are Walkieism and Buddhism. In the North Western mountains, one can even find Old Twerkish. The citizens of Walkany generally tolerate open practice of religion, but often they scorn priests and the such if they try to convert the citizen to their religion. Although this is not a problem from natives, foreigners will become embroiled in heated arguments when they try to bring in new ideas to the set culture.

Training Grounds

Just South of the stadium by ten miles is the home/away team training grounds named the W. T. Training Complex. It is outfitted with a weight training room, a three lane track, fifty foot high fences around the training ground, excellent training equipment, a small cafeteria/break room, and other small additions such as a beer tap, arcade, and even a thirty seat home theater. Both home and away teams are allowed to use it and the staff of the Complex help schedule training days as evenly as possible, though donations to the Complex always ensure a better deal. The Training Complex was expanded several years ago with the knowledge that Walkany would once again participate in the World Cup Qualifying tournament, so it could accommodate two teams training on the same day. It is divided by another fence down the middle, though this one would be covered with a black tarp to shield the teams from each other's prying eyes, if they decided to train on the same days of course.

Crime

There is little to no serious crimes in Walkany due to many progressive social policies, but young adults and the occasional over-zealous football fan can sometimes cause a bit of a stir. Most criminals are quickly caught to be dealt with by a very effective police force, though more often than not the coppers will accidentally let one or two slip through their grasp to continue their "evil" ways. Some people have been known to vandalize visiting football teams' hotel rooms, though this has only happened when regional competitors have stayed in Wandelaar for extended periods of time. The punishments for foreigners committing crimes vary depending on the law broken. Violations usually result in a fine, along with an online video sent to the violator of all of the various Walkian laws. The consequence for a misdemeanor is a hefty fine and usually a single warning before being removed from the country if anything accounting to or above a violation. In very rare cases, foreigners have been detained, though only until the case was solved. Felonies require a trial and if the defendant is proven guilty, a long sentence in prison where daily progressive social policy classes are given to the prisoner. If said prisoner's country wishes to extradite him, they must go through a long, drawn out process of paper work that can only be described as atrocious.

The Gators History

The Gators National Team Statistics

Map of Walkany

Under former manager Burnie O'Nielle, the Gators were uber attacking, throwing every player forward in every instant of the game, almost abandoning the goal keeper to the enemy striker's whims. This made it a very high scoring game for both sides and usually ended up with Walkany losing due to the defensive struggles of the team. Now, the team is taking a new approach with manager Adam Adama looking to adopt a more defensive, yet still attacking, style of play. The general tactic is to give the ball in the middle before passing back out wide in transition to the last third of the pitch to cross it in for a header. Crosses and set pieces are the current Gator's bread and butter. They practice these almost non-stop, taking breaks only for fitness and defensive training. Expect Kenyon Rios to send in a dangerous free kick towards the goal, or Ezekiel Mata to place a corner exactly where it needs to be, and possibly even Paxton Casales beating a defender before playing the perfect ball across goal.

In honor of the next generation of Walkany players taking the field for the first time in a decade, the National Association of Walkany Football, in partnership with Extra-Awesome Games, have made NAWF: The Story of Qualifying. It covers the entire World Cup Qualifying schedule with the ability to play as every team, in every game. It is not the most well made video game, but it sold out of most stores in the first week of being sold. The featured players are, of course, the Walkany National Team a.k.a. the Gators.

THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM FOR THE 74th WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION

TEAM INFORMATION:

Style mod: +1,5
Style description: The Ficiscian team plays fairly quick and uses their fast wingers quite a lot. They act a lot with fast attacks where the whole offense tries to roll over the opponent's defense. A common thing to see in their games is the offside trap, and Decimius Hector is a strong free kicker (and playmaker).
Nickname: The National Team, Northlights, (Ferocious) Lynx

RP PERMISSIONS:
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes - but only inside football rules and minimal likeliness (very improbable goals from your own penalty area - yes, the ball bounce off a concorde into the goal - no. If in doubt, TG me)
RP injuries to my players: Yes - nothing life threatening or career ending, and if it affects me for more than one game TG me please
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes - not more than one per game
Godmod other events: Yes - see scoring events. And please TG me if you injure/kill any Ficiscians (also includes fans, journalists etc.)

An extra note to RP Permissions: If you want to stage a fight involving any Ficiscians, PLEASE tell me first. The reason I insist on this is that Ficiscia is supposed to be a peaceful nation which also affects the national mentality. If you stage a fight involving our fans, they have to be hooligans or something or you need to present a good storyline, as our "normal" fans are self-defending at best. We can have a conflict, that's fine. But if you want that, you NEED to TG me and tell me your supposed storyline unless it's just a minor thing (only hooligans, or only players and no more than one red card per side, or so. If in doubt, TG.)

STADIUMS:

The main stadium is the Stadium Ficisciae in Carinha, where most of the home games will be played. However, two games will be played in Antiqua's Stadium Decampi and one game in the Marinum Arena, Marinum. As soon as the groups are known, the games will be added to this post (and be named in one of my first RP's). Pictures and information provided in the spoilers. Climate might be a factor in Ficiscia especially in the game in Marinum, as it is usually cold and the Marinum stadium does not have a roof and is quite an old one. All three stadiums are in coast cities, and wind from the sea is very common. Due to the closeness of the seas, it is also likely that there might be rain during games at all stadiums. Antiqua has a closable roof, however it can only be closed before the game, so rain games may still occur there. Nevertheless, Ficiscian fans are known for their passion and their huge numbers of colourful flags that they bring to the stadium, as well as choreos. The use of certain pyrotechnics is legal in Ficiscia (no explosives, only lights/torches), however for security reasons it is not permitted to bring any fireworks into the country without permission to make sure only legal pyrotechnics will be used.

http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=327181 - Background.

SZAVODA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Сзавода Фудбалски савез/Szavoda futbalový zväz

Szavoda has come a long way from it's humble, alcohol-hazed beginnings. It is now backed by a shifty, multi-billion dollar company, eager to pump the sport full of cash. At the helm is a Euran ex-National team coach, whilst the co-founder, Dazdan Iubirdic, begrudgingly takes his place beside him as his deputy. Somewhere in the backroom is Moli Dolanovic, although her exact role is unknown. In the intervening months between the last Cup of Harmony, SzaTec have set up the Szavda Pro League, with 8 franchise sides with no history or connection - don't let the faux-communist names fool you. The Szavda team has progressed rather unexpectedly to 58th in the world, with an impressive Quarter Final showing at the most recent Cup of Harmony and a Round of 16 finish in the Copa Rushmori. They were within a hair's breadth of qualifying for the World Cup Play-offs, losing out by a single point to Polkopia, and look forward to having another stab at qualification this time round, confident of success.

Management:

Head Coach: Louis Watson Image - Age: 57
The former Euran coaching staff-member and one-timed manager of the national comes into the vacant national team job under rather acrimonious circumstances, as the backing body, SzaTec International, strong-armed the previous 'administration' into hiring him over their preferred candidate, Danielle Granger of Brenecia. Watson is a noted disciplinarian and man-manager, which could cause some grating in a dressing room of almost exclusively amateur, lazy student footballers, although the arrival of the Szavda Pro League has done something to increase footballing professionalism in the country.

Assistant Coach: Dazdan Iubirdic - Age: 47
The originator of the idea of football in Szavoda, Dazdan's life was at a low point when his wife left him, took most of his money, his child and all his skiing equipment. He'd just returned from a work posting in the icy wastelands of Svengarda and took up his dream with the mysterious Moli. Considers himself a tactical genius. Driven, passionate and perhaps going the way of crazy, Dazdan will do anything to see his dream succeed. He was offered the managership of the new Pro League franchise Vfana RKK, which he accepted, but remains as active as ever in the national set-up.

Physio: Dr. Janu Mazic - Age: 60
Hired specially to provide medical assistance and advice by the SFA a week before the BoF. An expert in muscle injuries, and a fan of money.

Defence Coach: Tristan Kuyter [NEPHARA] - Age: 45
Hired as a foreign expert to help coach the abysmally bad defence. A pretty thankless task, as the defence is more porous than a pile of sponges, but they're slowly working their way up. Doesn't quite get Moli, but hey, no one does. Credited with a significant improvement in the quality of the Szavda defence. Disappointed that Granger was not appointed to the manager's role, but satisfied enough with the suitcases of cash.

Playing Squad

Goalkeepers:

Nemanja Petrovic - Age: 23 - Team: Willow Street Pirates [SCHOTTIA]
A tall, sturdy keeper with a background in handball, which gives him sharp reflexes and an eye for the ball, and one of the few players on the side who cares for football, even foregoing a handball scholarship to a different University to remain in Nevograd to play football. Prefers the 'sweeper keeper' role, although he is prone to errors when outside the box. Superb in the Baptism of Fire, keeping three clean sheets and establishing himself as the Number 1. Had to pick the ball out of the net a fair few times in the World Cup, but developed well. He was the 3rd Szavda player to earn a professional contract overseas, playing for the Willow Street Pirates in Schottia. During his spare time there, he and his girlfriend have opened up a Szavda deli.

Stjepan Lukic - Age: 20 - Team: Union Kadlec
Diminutive in stature, at only 5ft 7", and bouncing full of energy. No particular sports background, just likes to get out in the fresh air and throw himself around in the mud. Prone to making rash decisions and doing perhaps unnecessary things which risk goals, much to the displeasure of his defence. Always a talkative presence behind the defensive line, even if it isn't always about football. No relation to Tim in the defence.

Defenders:

Slavko Stefanovic - Age: 23 - Team: Vfana RKK
An apprentice plumber from Vfana, Slavko operates as a traditional full-back, prowling up and down either the left or right flank, although for the purposes of the Baptism of Fire he will play on the right. He has good pace and sharp footwork, capable of delivering swinging crosses and corners.

Radmilo Novak - Age: 20 - Team: Union Kreceva
Good at both ends of the pitch, strong and physical in defence - which can often lead to penalties against his name -, with a smart head on his shoulders, and a real threat from set pieces down the other end. He'll always be up in the opposition box for free kicks and corners, capable of good headers. Also possesses and handy turn of pace and tackling skills to match attacking threats.

Tim Lukic - Age: 23 - Team: Foxhampton Image
A grizzled (if you can be grizzled at 22 years of age) centre back who takes no nonsense. Strong and powerful with the jump of a salmon, Tim is a big threat during attacking corners, but loves nothing more than to put an opposition striker on his backside. Expect plenty of colourful cards and colourful language. Over the course of three World Cups, Lukic has become a real leader, acting as vice-captain. He has a ferocious, never-say-die attitude which has made him a favourite with what little fans exist and foreigners who encounter him. Plays his football around his National Service placement.

Vedran Milosevic - Age: 20 - Team: Dinamo Kreceva
A lively wing-back in the traditional mould, who can play on both flanks and switch the play very easily. Two footed and capable of sensational strikes from outside the area, Vedran is one of the teams most exciting talents, someone who, along with Branimir Milic, could actually make a career out of playing football. Grew up in a privileged household in Vfana, and was able to watch Euran football live on television, which attributes to his skill and flare.

Kuzman Jovanovic - Age: 26 -Team: Vfana RKK
Despite being one the less experienced players in the squad, he is automatically one of the oldest players to have ever played for Szavoda. Jovanovic, a trainee lawyer, entered Szavda football through a series of public trials which were held after the most recent Cup of Harmony. He impressed the coaching staff and was signed up to the one of the franchises in the Pro League and put on a training regime. As a defender, Jovanovic brings his skills from playing full back in rugby to act as a vigilant sweeper, with decent speed and tackling ability. Boundless energy makes him a constant presence at the back.

Vlastimir Markovic - Age: 19 - Team: FK01 Nevograd
A centre back who can also play on the left or the right, or in midfield, Markovic plays with high levels of energy and has good dribbling skills, which means he often likes to play the ball out of defence as opposed to hoofing the ball up the pitch, which is the traditional tactic of the team.

Nenad Nikolic - Age: 24 - Team: WFKV
A natural leader at the back, with a good brain on his shoulders. He is good at reading match situations, and often has to lead the defence in set pieces and the like. Reluctant to get off his feet, Nenad relies more on non-contact methods to win the ball off of opponents and keep it from them. Nikolic has become a leader in the team, alongside Lukic they form a considerable centre-defensive partnership.

Midfielders

Branimir Milic - Age: 24 - Team: Ulsa Image
The only actually decent player in the squad, and the captain of the squad. Blessed with immense speed and wonderful close ball control, Branimir loves nothing more than to pick up the ball in the midfield and drive into the opposition penalty area. Long range shooting and vision are two more important arrows in his quiver, but he does not shirk on his defensive responsibilities, despite being a rather diminutive 5ft 7", and comes back for corners and to defend free-kicks. Milic is the beating heart of the otherwise static Szavoda team - always moving and running, trying to find space for himself and for others, whilst both on and off the ball. Following the Baptism of Fire, he was picked up by Euran Third Division club Moors. Showing more and more that he is a top-quality operator, but has problems executing his skills without able support from his less talented team-mates. Before WC73, he was signed by Euran Gold League club Ulsa, somewhat of a coup considering his background, and will look to make waves on the biggest stage in Eura.

Pero Milovanovic - Age: 20 - Team: Severazlos Company
A static distributor of the ball, Milovanovic sits in front of the back four and passes the ball out from about a 10 yard box in which he operates. Defensively astute, standing at 6ft 4", he plays often as a fifth defender by slotting in between the two central defenders. A decent attacking threat from set-pieces, too.

Srecko Brekovic - Age: 23 - Team: WFKV
A central midfield play-maker who impressed during WC73. At 6ft 3", he is a formidable presence in the middle of the park, and has exceptional passing ability, both on the ground and over the top. He leads the counter-attacks with a notable turn of pace and good footwork, and as a result, he likes to get forward and create goals. He is being touted as the next Milic, despite only there being a year between the two, and he reflects the captain in many ways with his movement and creativity on the ball.

Nemanja Radic - Age: 21 - Team: Kreceva SK19
An apprentice electrician, although how much work or training he is doing is questionable. Another in the mould of the young, energetic player who doesn't have much of a clue of the technical side of the game. Plays a central midfielder, but tends to rove all over the pitch, mostly following the ball with hot-headed enthusiasm. Possesses decent pace as well.

Isijia Jovanovic - Age: 23 - Team: Vfana RKK
Varies between magic and ordinary, often serving up healthy portions of both during the span of a 90 minute game. He can get the ball at his feet and within seconds be running rings around opposition defenders, but then only minutes later he can slice a simple pass into no-man's land for an opposition player to run onto and score.

Domenic Marsejevic - Age: 24 - Team: Severazlos Company
Your no-nonsense, hard-hitting central midfielder who lacks the glamour and guile of players like Milic and Jovanovic, but has a canny knowledge of the game and can get himself in good positions both in attack and defence. Chips in with the odd assist and goal as well, which comes in handy. He has become a real midfield leader, although he has been hampered by injury in recent months.

Stefan Petrovic - Age: 22 - Team: FK01 Nevograd
Young and full of energy, he always wants to be on the ball and to unfurl his various tricks which he has learned off of Branimir Milic. Sometimes they come off, which looks nice, but most of the time he's left chasing after an opposition defender who's stolen the ball off of him, which has made him quite fast and strong.

Ljuban Zoric - Age: 26 - Team: Dinamo Kreceva
Lived overseas for the majority of his life, he experienced football first hand, even playing youth grade football until he upped sticks and returned to the Glorious Motherland. He is a rare breed of midfielder who strives to get forward and score goals, and specialises in the spectacular. His powering runs and cannon-like shooting are something to be watched out for.

Javor Ilic - Age: 20 - Team: Union Kadlec
A sprightly attacking midfielder with quick feet and and good eye for goal. Operates well behind the two front men as a good distributor of the ball, known for his cutting through balls which split the defence and allow Nikazic and co. to nip in behind. Takes free-kicks from around the box and corners on the left hand side. Second penalty taker after Milic.

Strikers

Mijo Nikazic - Age: 22 - Team: Union Kadlec
The pinpoint of Szavoda's counter-attacking philosophy, Nikazic is small and very, very fast. He can go from a standing start to full pace in a matter of seconds, which makes him absolutely lethal on the break. His size allows him to squeeze past defenders in the box and he has shot placement to match any international striker. A real talent in a side that lacks, well, talent.

Zar Mihailovic - Age: 27 - Team: Arsenal de Releinthi [ABANHFLEFT]
The living epitome of the word 'target-man' - he's big, strong and knows where the goal is. Outside the penalty area, he's about as effective as a chocolate tea-pot, but inside, he only needs a yard to beat the keeper. He acts as a good foil against the small Nikazic, and together two the make a decent strike partnership. Second Szavda player to player overseas, and has become better for it.

Graeme Stefanovic - Age: 33 - Team: Union Kreceva
His first name might give you an indication as to his roots. Graeme was born to a Szavda father and a Euran mother, and was raised in Bastion. He dabbled in semi-pro football in Eura, but stopped after he was hired by a mining company for a number of years in Szavoda, where he lived in Kreceva. He played recreationally amongst the Euran expat community, and entered the system during the public trials. He is a smart and able striker, able to extract space in the box and draw out defenders. His dream came true when at the Bastion Arena, he came on as a substitute and scored in front of the Euran fans for Szavoda.

RP injuries to my players: Yes (I will determine severity)
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes (max 7)
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes (max 2)
Godmod other events: Yes (to a reasonable extent - TG me if you want to RP something that is totally inconceivable in a football match)

Home Stadia: SzaTec Park, Vfana (21,000)
The World Cup Committee won't permit qualifiers to be played on what is effectively a field with some paint on it, so Szavoda have had to play their official home games at the rather soulless SzaTec park in Vfana Docks. It is originally a Rugby stadium, but several unmarked brown envelopes at the offices of the presiding club ensured that the ground will be free for all of Szavoda's home qualifiers. SzaTec has started construction on a 29,000 all-seater football-specific stadium in Kreceva, although its estimated date for completion is some way away.

Lot 37 (Official Capacity: 0)
Situated in a run-down industrial park on the outskirts of Vfana in southern Szavoda, Lot 37 is just a patch of scrubland with grass laid down in patches and white lines hastily painted on. There are no seats, so opposition fans, should they come, are advised to bring their own seating. A retractable stand seating 400 was ordered from Eura, but it never turned up. Whilst it is the spiritual home of Szavda football NO GAMES WILL BE PLAYED HERE.

SAN LLERA NATIONAL TEAM
Image

Name: San Llera National Team
Nickname: The Swagfish
President: Agusti Llano
Head Coach: Marko Vujvic
Assistant Coaches: Pietro Madonna, Pere Dissa
Factbook: Here
Style Modifier: +.65

History of San Llera
San Llera has a long and storied history and has always had a passion for the game (In fact, the native peoples of San Llera claim to have invented soccer, though their claim is rarely recognized or even acknowledged). However, San Llera didn't star playing internationaly until recently. Just prior to that World Cup, San Llera participated in its first international tournament, a tournament for newcomers entitled the Baptism of Fire. The Baptism of Fire started very well for San Llera with a perfect 5-wins-in-5-games group stage, but the 1-seed San Llera was knocked out in the round of 16 by 16-seed Flardania. It was a disappointing end to their run, but it still left San Llera confident that they could do well in World Cup Qualifying. Unfortunately, they were often left at the mercy of more experienced nations, and San Llera disappointed their hopeful fanbase with a mere 11 points in 14 games, not even coming close to qualifying for the World Cup.

In San Llera's second attempt at qualifying for the World Cup, they hoped to do a bit better now that they had some experience, but they disappointed once again. With 14 points, a small improvement, they left qualifying in sixth place and without a ticket to either the World Cup or the Cup of Harmony. However, they did settle for an invite to the Runner Cup, where they found more success against weaker opponents, eventually being outed in the semifinals but finishing third in the tournament, the best finish for a San Lleran team at any sporting event to date. San Llera looked to ride that momentum into their first regional competition, the Copa Rushmori. But they didn't ride momentum. Instead, they lost three games out of three, none of which were particularly close. It was a disappointing tournament, but it was mostly forgotten after a promising World Cup campaign that saw a first invitation to the Cup of Harmony. Although San Llera couldn't advance in the Cup of Harmony, it was another step. San Llera then impressed in their second Copa Rushmori, progressing out of the group stage. Now, in their fourth try, they hope to qualify for the World Cup.

As for the history of the nation itself, here is an excerpt from the national factbook:
"San Llera came into existence as the natives rose up against their overseas captors in 1857. After a bloody coup which resulted in the beheadings of most foreign government officials, San Llera remained stagnant as the natives returned to their old ways. The first president of San Llera was Dorano Trecci, a member of the Homeland Party. Parties have since been outlawed in San Llera. Recently, with the "presidency" of Alejandro Llano, San Llera has experienced a boom in population and economy along with urbanization. However, the people maintain their old traditions today."

Travel Guide
Should you be traveling to San Llera, here are some tips and information:
-The only airport in San Llera is Llerana International Airport, which is nine hours away from the stadium. Should you be traveling to qualifiers, it is recommended that you fly to one of the airports in the surrounding countries and then take a boat to Port Cremando, a pleasant city that is within walking distance of the stadium.
-In terms of language, San Llerans mostly speak San Lleran, a close relative of Catalan. Catalan- and Spanish-speakers should be able to communicate rather easily, and many San Llerans know English, as linguistics is one of the most popular studies in the nation. In general, people will be very hospitable towards you if you make an attempt to learn their language. If you don't, San Llerans can be very bitter.
-The color red is no longer banned in San Llera, but it is still highly discouraged that you wear it, as it may lead to hostility from San Lleran fans. Any other visiting fans not wearing red will be treated with warmth.
-A common mistake visitors make is calling the people of San Llera "Llerans." Do not do this! A Lleran is a specific race in San Llera (races in the country are based on soccer team allegiance, not color of skin), and Llarens or Patrians will take great offense.

National Stadium
Camp a L'aigua ("Field on the Water") Capacity - Unknown
Image
You may notice that this stadium has no stands. While San Llera has plenty of modern stadia (with stands) to choose from, the site of soccer for thousands of years is the national stadium. Located in the Cremando Mountains on the giant Lake Aigua, the lack of stands does not prevent fans from coming out to see their team play. Fans will crowd any land they can find. Some passionate fans go out on boats to find space, others tread water for two hours. One infamous match against rivals Telsta resulted in 120,000 people catching a glimpse of the match in whatever way they could. La Rock ("The Rock") is not pictured, but provides a beautiful view and is a symbol of San Lleran independence.

Coaching Staff

Head Coach Image Marko Vujvic - After former head coach Jon Lleranerus sadly fell into a coma and died, his loyal assistant Marko Vujvic became the interim whilst San Llera looked for a replacement. That replacement ended up being Vujvic himself. Vujvic is not from San Llera but Szavoda, which garnered a lot of controversy when he was hired, but the people of San Llera have come to quite like the coach. He is outgoing yet calm and known for his tactical skill, making him the polar opposite of his predecessor.
Assistant Coach Image Pietro Madonna - No relation to singer, Madonna is very good at helping to develop young players. He is the only coach San Llera has who is adept at making players better.
Assistant Coach Image Pere Dissa - A very similar coach to the deceased Lleranerus, Dissa is passionate and very outspoken about his beliefs. Players coached by him tend to be very conditioned.

Roster
Postion First Name Last Name - Age - Club - Description
GK Chimo Fons (VC) - 33 years old - Image Llerana SC - A reliable keeper who is commanding in the air and almost never makes mental errors, Fons is the obvious choice to start despite some struggles several cups ago.
GK Marcel Fons - 29 years old - Image Llara Llera - The younger brother of Chimo, Marcel is considered a keeper for the future. The future looked to be now after struggles from Chimo in the World Cup, but Marcel was horrid when placed into the starting position, and hence he is resigned to the bench for now.
GK Denis Thoda - 23 years old - Image Cenial Liberty - Easily San Llera's most promising young goalkeeper, Thoda missed the Di Bradini Cup with an injury but is now healthy and better than ever. His insanely quick reflexes and success at Chell SC earned him a transfer to Ceni, where he will look to continue his success.
LB Jacque Olivier - 31 years old - Image Llerana SC - San Llera's pool of left backs is remarkably shallow, and they will have to settle for Jacque Olivier to start this World Cup. Olivier has made tons of starts for San Llera, so he has plenty of experience, but he hasn't been particularly good. He is famous for being one of the most unspectacular players, and people in general, you will ever meet. Left back may be a weakness for the Swagfish this tournament.
CB Alexandre De Gonia - 31 years old - Image Llerana SC - "The Soviet Swan" is the dirtiest player on the team, and will slide tackle anyone in sight. However, those who know him will tell you that he's a very kind, gentle, and romantic man. But if you see him on the pitch, you will start to doubt this.
CB Gerard Quella - 28 years old - Image Scottopia City - Four World Cups ago, Quella was a shock selection who nobody had heard of. But solid World Cup play and his team's inclusion in the inaugural season of San League Soccer have made him an established player known for his clever passing. Now Quella is in his fourth World Cup, and he has emerged as perhaps San Llera's best center back.
RB Antoni Belles - 26 years old - Image Granger Dragonites - Belles is a young speedster that loves to overlap with winger and put in crosses but often gets caught in possession. However, he recently has been better at getting back on defense and not acting his age. Impressive San League soccer performances lured him overseas to Granger Dragonites in the Northern Sunrise
Islands.
LB Pau Milla - 33 years old - Image Cremando Llera - Picked over the much younger Ramondiera, Pau Milla is a consistent if not fantastic and veteran left back who has bounced on and off the team recently but has earned his place in the roster.
CB Marc Abello - 35 years old - Image Pantans - Once a prodigy, a horrific injury stopped his progress but he has worked his way back onto the national team. Then he came back and became one of the best defenders on the national team, with his great passing ability and acute awareness. Abello is thrust into a backup role this Copa due to his decline with age, but he will still add a veteran locker room presence.
CB Robert Rivello - 24 years old - Image Llara Llera - A Di Bradini Cup star, Rivello is now earning his second call-up to the national team. He is a very feisty defender, a bit dirty at times, but in a good way. Opposing strikers should fear him.
RB Amerigo - 23 years old - Image AS Mantegapa - Another player from the fourth-place Di Bradini Cup of two years ago team that earned a call up, Amerigo is seen as a somewhat experimental addition to the team, and he won't play too much barring an injury ahead of him. If he does play, Amerigo is an excellent crosser of the ball and a very hard-working player, but sometimes tries to run up and down the flank too much.
LW Pelechamchas - 30 years old - Image Chell SC - What Pelechamchas lacks in pure talent, he makes up for in pure speed. The 6'4" winger isn't the greatest natural soccer player in Rushmore or the world, but he is a beast in the air with his height and nearly impossible to keep up with for defenders. He is admittedly not great defensively (although he's improving), but the offensive threat he offers with his speed and excellent ability to whip in crosses, never mind use his six feet and four inches to latch on to crosses, earns him a place on the team.
CM Enric Bou - 24 years old - Image Real Old Maiz - After breaking out as an 20-year-old in World Cup 72, Bou played even better in the next. And his recent play has indicated that is one of the best San Llera players in this qualification, after starring in the San League and moving to Zenic with Real Old Maiz. Bou, while still a bit lanky, is well beyond his years in passing.
CM Hector Fonda - 29 years old - Image Hasilpur Ox's - "The Sponge" is one of the most popular players on San Llera, and he backs that popularity up with his talent. Fonda is rough, tough, and a beast in the defensive midfield who is feared by attackers and makes the defenders' lives much easier. He has also recently developed very nice chemistry with Bou, his partner in central midfield.
RW Don Llorens (VC) - 35 years old - Image Llerana SC - Llorens, still probably San Llera's best player, was widely criticized five years ago when he played horridly in the World Cup. But he rebounded, and showed his talent in World Cup 72. Now, Llorens is aging, and has been surpassed as the best San Lleran player, but he still is an obvious starter, with his wide array of skills in shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense.
LW Adam Gasca - 21 years old - Image Deline Athletic - Former teenage sensation slowly coming into his own. Like his career, his play seemingly runs in slow motion but is surprisingly effective. Gasca was picked over Martini Saragosa, which was tough for Marko Vujvic to do but necessary.
CM Oscar Cardona - 26 years old - Image Patria Poble - The star on San Llera's first Di Bradini Cup, Cardona has all the tools to be a great center-mid, with good vision, silky passing, and flashy dribbling. He is also, reportedly, a great locker room presence, unlike Paulo Masias, the player that he replaces in this roster.
CM Teodor Alemany - 25 years old - Image Klyde - With Cardona, Marko Vujvic also put his former U-21 partner in the midfield, Teodor Alemany. Alemany is a defensive midfielder of the San Lleran mold, being rough and not afraid of anybody. He is currently plying in trade in Cosumar with Klyde.
RW Guifre Gil - 33 years old - Image Chell SC - Gil is an incredible dribbler and favorite of the fans, but stuck behind Don Llorens on the depth chart. He's established himself as a solid player, but not enough beyond that to get serious minutes.
ST Carles Mestre - 29 years old - Image Familia Llano - Mestre, at his best, is clearly the starting striker for San Llera and perhaps the best player on the team. However, Mestre at his worst doesn't deserve to be in consideration for the roster. Marko Vujvic will certainly hope he gets the good side of the 5'1" striker this World Cup.
ST Jan Capo - 27 years old - Image Chell SC - Jan is talented but has attitude problems. At the age of 20, Capo was caught on camera killing a man outside of a nightclub, and he was promptly convicted of murder. Then, in a strange turn of events, he was pardoned by Great Leader Alejandro Llano. Capo became a free man, and insists that all of that is behind him, but it still looms over him.
ST Bellemurillo - 24 years old - Image Arsenal de Releinthi - Bellemurillo, currently a free agent, was the leading goalscorer in San Llera's last Di Bradini Cup, which earned him a call-up to the national team. He is incredibly speedy and smart with his speed (in terms of making clever runs) but not a fantastic finisher.
ST Dwight - 30 years old - Image Camp Pende - Big, burly striker Dwight scored tons of goals in San League Soccer, preying especially on inexperienced defenses. He may not see many of those here, unfortunately.

The Capital Stadium, as it is known by locals, is a mediocre stadium built for its lack of spectacle. It was designed with the feel of a high school soccer match in mind, and it does that well. The fans will be hectic as always, so expect rowdy crowds and a lot of yelling.

I don't know how long I'll be back, but I just thought I'd stop in and say hi, at least.

Polkopian National Football Team
"The Slashers"

Image

The Polkopian Football Association is a relatively new organization which serves as the governing body for the Polkopian Premier League, as well as the Polkopian National Team itself. The National Team was formally under government control, where the Polkopian government had overseen all duties that were associated with creating and maintaining a National Team. Despite hard measures taken by the Polkopian government, the Polkopian National Team had very little success internationally, and thus, failing to ignite passion for the sport.

After the Polkopian Football Association, or PFA, was established, the team was completely restructured, though coaching and managerial staff remained the same. A domestic league was established in order for the Polkopian players to gain experience against players from other nations, as well as their own. Furthermore, new youth academies were set up in order to assure that the Polkopian youth could gain experience with the hope of one day representing their nation on an international stage.

Home Stadium:

The "Hanisov Stadiona", or Hanisov Stadium, is the home stadium for the Polkopian National Football Team. The stadium itself is relatively new, having only just been built five years ago, and seats a total of 78,000 spectators. The stadium had been originally constructed to field the club team, Peeto Gordost', but the PFA, or Polkopian Football Association, changed it last minute. The views from the stands pictured here and here assure a great-quality view from nearly any angle.

SEMARLAND NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL WORLD CUP 74 PLAYER POOL

NATIONAL STADIUM - Natunolstadion, Jansberg, 86,000

Kits kindly manufactured by VUCTI Kits

STAFF:
Manager: Andreas Jansen, 44
A definite national footballing hero of Semarland, both playing wise and managing wise, Andreas Jansen became the first ever manager to lead Semarland to the World Cup finals. A somewhat surprise appointment following the resignation of Henrik Jensen, who has gone on to manage Molsbik Arkjet, fortunately Andreas Jansen stepped in. Having already done his coaching badges before, it came as a surprise that he was appointed so early yet being a qualified coach. He proved the doubters wrong as he lead Semarland into the World Cup group stages, via the playoffs after finishing second in their group, defeating Buyan in the aforementioned playoff in an inspiring second-leg victory. Then, he went onto the next world cup which Semarland qualified for again despite losing all group stage games (the same case with the previous AOCAF), but then he made up for that by leading the team to the semi-finals of AOCAF 49 - the furthest Semarland has been in any major tournament. For the World Cup qualifying stage he has named a "pool" of 70 different players - including a mixture of key players, regulars, exciting prospects, fringe players and debutants to enable everyone to get a chance if Semarland qualify. The squad is based on performances in the AOCAF, Trindl Cup and players' respective leagues, and they will be monitored closely throughout qualifying by Jansen and his staff.

Assistant manager: Tunde Ajayi, 46
46 year old Tunde Ajayi is no stranger to the world of assistant managing. Ajayi was previously the assistant manager at Eikborg Club for four years, leading them to higher positions. Capped by Semarland 28 times, scoring twice, in his playing days he often featured at centre-back or in defensive midfield, earning him the nickname “the brick wall.” Like Jansen, he’d be interested in remaining in the coaching setup for a while - maybe as a first-team coach or just as a general tactical coach. One thing that will delight the SFA is his experience and professionalism - despite his rather young age, he has been involved in coaching setups for eight years, since he was 34 when he retired due to a knee injury. As well as being the assistant manager of the side, Ajayi is also the head coach of FC Jansberg U14s, with his children Kunle and Ibrahim playing just a few age groups below.

First team coaches: Yohan Martinsson, 43 and Jermaine Latibeaudiere, 30
43 year old Yohan Martinsson was appointed first team coach at the 63rd Cup of Harmony to replace the outgoing Sven Niemstad. Initially, he was working alongside Mako Albrechtsen, retained from the previous backroom staff but after his departure for a couple of months he was the sole general coach in Andreas Jansen's team. Experienced for his age, for the past twenty-two years Martinsson has been working as a coach with excellent all-round abilities. His colleague was Raul Juarez of Farfadillis - who, alongside another Farf coach in Franco Fortaleza, has elected to miss this World Cup due to contract negotiations. Jansen, Ajayi and Martinsson all agreed on a temporary, perhaps permanent replacement in 30 year old Jermaine Latibeaudiere. Jansen knew Latibeaudiere who was formerly a Krsthaven player. A central midfielder, at 17 he unfortunately suffered a serious injury and had to retire four years later but has been working as Krsthaven's first team coach for the last eight years. Except now he is working part time as he will be spending this World Cup as part of Jansen's backroom team.

Speciality coaches: Martin Datheim, 45 (Goalkeeping), Johannes Pedersen, 47 (Defensive) and Jerome Taylor, 32 (Attacking)
Martin Datheim earned over 100 caps for Semarland, being their first choice goalkeeper since the tender age of seventeen but never really got his chances when Semarland entered the World Cup for the first time. Having only retired a few years ago he was an almost instant appointment to then manager Henrik Jensen's backroom staff replacing veteran Ulrik Lacht, now goalkeeping coach at Molsbik Arkjet. Defensive coach is Johannes Pedersen, uncle of former national team defender Soren, who had the stereotypical "hardman" reputation in his playing career. 32 year old Jerome Taylor is filling in for Farf coach Franco Fortaleza who is not with the backroom team for reasons mentioned, but he has been working as FC Kolberg's attacking coach for the last six years. He hasn't played at such a high level like Latibeaudiere, with Taylor playing non-league football until he was 23 when he quit and decided to become a coach instead.

Tactical coaches: Yohannas Rasmussen, 37 and Jamal Martinsson, 32
Previous tactical coach Johan Nikkelsen, 39 resigned after the Trindl Cup to return back to Eikborg Club and two new appointments have been made. 37 year old Yohannas Rasmussen is a more familiar name, having covered for Nikkelsen last World Cup who took paternal leave. Statistically, Rasmussen did a better job having taken over during the second half of qualifying and ensuring Semarland got to the finals. He will be assisted by 32 year old Jamal Martinsson - who, the SFA admitted was not the original candidate after Kangemark Sport's Marcus Haider rejected the role. There is no doubt that Martinsson is a tactical genius though, having worked with Krsthaven's U21s before working with FC Kolberg's first team. The duo will be looking to play fast, exciting and flowing football based on the wishes of Andreas Jansen and of course, the fans. To be fair we've always played exciting, attacking football but I guess Rasmussen and Martinsson are here to make it much more exciting.

Fitness coaches: Rasmus Karlsen, 43 (Lead), Jacob Denmark, 32 (Fitness) and Karmelo Ashton-Brown, 31 (Strength & Conditioning)
43 year old Rasmus Karlsen is a long serving member of the Semarland coaching staff, having worked with Henrik Jensen but his experience and enthusiasm led to him being retained by Andreas Jansen. As lead fitness coach, he will be overseeing Jacob Denmark and new appointment Karmelo Ashton-Brown who will both focus on fitness and strength & conditioning respectively. The trio will work close with the physiotherapists and doctors to ensure the players don't get injured easily, and Karlsen & Denmark have both done a good job these last few tournaments. Strength & Conditioning expert Ashton-Brown has worked at FC Jansberg, FC Nuholm and Sporting Saint Adrensburg and will be a major behind-the-scenes appointment.

Physiotherapists: Lars Mikkelsen-Schone, 44 (Head), Mats Borg, 46 and Segun Akinola, 30
Doctors: Stefan Tramsø, 51 and Åke Ulfsson, 43
50 year old Tobias Jensen-Moller decided to leave after his contract expired but Mats Borg agreed a new one year contract. Jensen-Moller's replacement is 30 year old Segun Akinola, who leaves FC Kolberg. Both will work under head physio Lars Mikkelsen-Schone who was one of the new members of staff brought in by Andreas Jansen & Tunde Ajayi when they were appointed in the 63rd Cup of Harmony. To be honest, Mikkelsen-Schone, Borg and Jensen-Moller did a relatively good job in connection with the fitness coaches and doctors and all eight members of the three departments are expected to do the same again. Doctors Tramsø and Ulfsson have been with the national team for almost ten years now and are well-valued and appreciated members of the medical and fitness team. Both graduated from the National University of Medicine with degrees in Sports Science and Sports Medicine and both are qualified and able professionals, as well as being popular with the players.

POLAASKAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL COPA RUSHMORI XXIII SQUAD

STAFF:
Manager: Bosko Zhamaletdinov, 48
After guiding Volcano FK to the title two seasons ago, amongst other good performances in his three-year tenure, the PFA decided to appoint Zhamaletdinov to the position of manager but have still kept interim manager Otto Omirov on as a first team coach. The duo were midfield partners in Volcano back in the day, and Zhamaletdinov has decided to appoint some of his former teammates to the coaching staff., with recently retired Frans Martinsson being one of the new coaches despite them never playing together. After retiring from playing aged 37, Zhamaletdinov was a first team coach and U21 manager simultaneously for two years before being promoted to assistant for one year. At the close of that season, then-manager Darijo Simak decieded to leave and Zhamaletdinov was appointed manager, where he guided them to one title and two cups, which is adequate enough for PFA President Mikhaelo Vrjak.

Assistant manager: Maries van Romker, 57
Zhamaletdinov’s assistant at Volcano, previously the manager of Dutch Semarland’s national team. Half Dutch Semar himself, when the gritty centre-back retired from playing aged 34, he moved back to Dutch Semarland where he managed Inter Zotanekko and FK Kemsterdam before the national team, but returned to Polaaskan when he was sacked from his national team job. Widely expected to the be the defensive coach by some, Zhamaletdinov decided to keep him as his assistant. Rather loud like his colleague, van Romker is someone on the touchline you shouldn’t mess with.

Mitch Tyson
Age: 48
Caps: 1
Goals: 0
Former defender and sports commentator who worked with Ajax B before taking this job in December, after Oliver Ulrichsen was fired for a poor Baptism of Fire.

ROSTER:

G #1 Matt Loovens
Age: 32

The first choice goalie. Always been the first choice goalkeeper. His cousin is a member of Oisinistani rock band Operator, who flunked at the WorldVision last year, with their acapella song 'Fight On' coming in last place.
G #22 Lannion Doyler
Age: 37
Caps: 12
Goals: 0
A sturdy backup who despite his age has always been in contention for selection. He has had quite a journeyman career, with 9 of the 14 clubs he has played for going bankrupt. Oisinistani fans call this 'The Curse of Doyler'.
G #23 Mint Humes
Age: 28
Caps: 4
Goals: 0
A late bloomer, only making his debut in January 2014, in a friendly match against Ainsleyistan. He received his unusual name from his father, Frederick Humes, a former TV chef on 'Let's Go Cook' on the Olive Network.

D #2 Jonathan Randie
Age: 30
Caps: 45
Goals: 3
A strong but slow defender. His surname has been mocked by fans, but at his current club, the fans always chant 'We got Randie to our club!'

Goals: 0
A young player in an old squad. Former Oisinistani U-14 badminton champion.
D #3 Mitchell King

D #5 Paul Ling

D #12 Stanley Tyrell
Age: 27
Appearances: 86
Goals: 5
Current captain of the team. A dynamic, enterprising right-back or wide mid who is one of the team's most experienced performers, though he is rather injury prone.
D #13 Felix Lopez
Age: 35
Appearances: 43
Goals: 5
Veteran defender with bags of experience and lots of guts. While he is undoubtedly past his prime, his total commitment and muscular approach can be beneficial in short, sharp bursts.

Age: 27
Caps: 2
Goals: 1
Recently recovered from a severe hip injury. Has a cult reputation for scoring a fantastic bicycle kick in his international debut.
D #15 Montell LuWayne

M #6 Henrik Jonathesen
Age: 30
Caps: 65
Goals: 27
An excellent passer with an eye for goal. Banned for eight games in 2012 for slapping a ball boy. Cried at the Baptism of Fire, but not because of the false reports that his brother had died.
M #7 Lewis Priceman
Age: 26
Caps: 14

M #9 Herbert Bleismann

Caps: 23
Goals: 2
Tough midfielder with an excellent first touch. Has spent his entire career abroad. On the fringes of the FC Sportik first team, he joined them on loan from Politehnica Astros this summer.

Age: 30
Caps: 34
Goals: 2
Experienced, hard-working former Ajax midfielder who joined Eagles this summer after a six-month spell abroad.
M #16 Anthony Pollard
Age: 28
Caps: 3
Goals: 0
The only openly gay member of the team. A late bloomer, and a talented playmaker who was outstanding for OMU last year. Signed a contract extension this season to deter interest from abroad.
M #17 DeLarith King
Age: 26
Caps: 4
Goals: 0
Currently a free agent after his contract at La Esteponera ran out. Defnsive midfielder who is also capable of playing as right back. Missed most of last season due to an ankle injury.
M #18 Paul Borg
Age: 35
Caps: 54
Goals: 19
Completed the Ballyacklee Marathon last year in 7th place, which shows his great stamina and hard work. A graduate of Ajax's world-famed academy who made his name in the first team in the 2013-14 season, but never recaptured his form. Joined La Esteponera this year.

F #19 Link Nile
Age: 29
Caps: 40

F #11 Andy Strenmann, 32
Caps: 50
Goals: 37
A brilliant finisher with an excellent eye for goal, who has often been overshadowed by Link Nile's excellent goal record. Is a model for many shampoo brands.
F #20 Rudi Galton
Age: 28
Caps: 12
Goals: 5
One of the fastest players in Oisinistan. Prolific for club, but has had problems reaching the form in the national squad.

Cenian National Team - World Cup 74

Football History
Football in Ceni has only recently began to take off in popularity. Even though football has been present in Ceni for a good majority of the time that it has been settled, other sports, mainly tennis, badminton, and squash, held precedence in Cenian sporting life. For the most part, society gave football barely a passing glance as Ceni built its dominance in tennis. As the popularity of football grew in the last decade, however, pressure grew for the Cenian government to create a national team and send it to compete with the world's best. First, however, it would play in the 54th Baptism of Fire against other nations new to international football. In what was perhaps an ill omen for the rest of Ceni's international football campaigns, the Sarian, later to reach the final, crushed Ceni. In the group stage, Ceni barely managed one win before qualifying for the playoffs on goal difference, where they defeated Bonny in only their second win of the tournament, winning the opportunity to face eventual champion Buyan in the Round of 16. Although Ceni played valiantly, Buyan won, 1-0, in a not-surprising scoreline.

After its poor showing in the Baptism of Fire, Ceni embarked on its first World Cup qualification campaign. Not many people payed attention, and the team, led by Pablito Numede, managed to scrape up a few points before going home in ignominy. If one could say that Ceni's first qualification campaign was a three-year-old's small beach bucket, Ceni's second campaign barely made a drop in that bucket. The short description: nobody really cared. Sure, maybe some people were disappointed by the team's quite awful performance, but the general populace shrugged. In World Cup 69, Ceni finally started caring about its World Cup qualification prospects. Unsurprisingly, they weren't good. Although Ceni did manage to secure draws against Felix and Chiata, and a win against the then-twenty-ninth-ranked Super-Llamaland, it was not enough to make even a small dent in the large wall separating Ceni from World Cup qualification. In World Cup 70, Ceni had a real chance at qualifying. Despite falling 2-9 down to Audioslavia, Ceni notched a win against the second seed Neu Engollon to get a chance to defeat Electrum in a last-match day decider at home. Apparently the gods of fate were not smiling on the Cenian team, for the team fell by one goal, ending hopes of a playoff spot and World Cup qualification. Ceni's prospects had come so close, yet they were as far away as ever. At the Cup of Harmony, Ceni defeated Neu Engollon again, and shockingly defeated world number 9 and eventual champion Turori, ending a losing slide against the top 10. However, Ceni could not end its losing slide against Electrum, whom they faced in the Round of 16, losing for the third time in a row.

Ceni came back yet again for World Cup 71. It started disappointingly, with a loss to Zenic and a draw to the hitherto-unknown Octinstine courtesy of an Alliance for Cenian Future ploy. After that, Ceni won against second seed Barunia. On paper, the second half of qualification should have been good enough: four wins, one against top seed Blouman Empire, and three draws. Unfortunately, the draws were against Zenic at home and against the minnow Aynard, ranked in the three hundreds, and they sealed Ceni's doom. Soothsayers and gamblers who bet on Ceni's failure were the only ones celebrating. Without the disappointing draws to the bottom of the group, Ceni would have made the playoff spot; with five more points against Zenic, Ceni would have qualified outright. Alas, the gods of fate had conspired against Ceni once again, and Ceni would move to the Cup of Harmony at home. It performed decently. Despite draws to Kazamatsuri and Matthewsiana in the group stage, Ceni managed to advance to the Round of 16, where it defeated Darvale to reach the quarterfinals and Mizuyuki on penalties to reach the semifinals. It lost to Valanora, hardly surprising, and Saintland in the third place match, but Ceni finally had made somewhat of a mark in international football. It felt it was ready to qualify.

However, the dream did not come to fruition. In World Cup 72 qualification, the team lost to Barunia, a team it had beaten in World Cup 71, on the first match day and drew the 279th ranked Welcomzia. It then lost to the successor of Mizuyuki, Kirisaki, and drew with the 100th ranked side Vermark. Ceni's losses and disappointments kept coming, losing to minnows Emperor Pudu and Atrua. While the draws against Aynard and Octinstine were disturbing at best and heartbreaking at worst, Cenian supporters were crushed by their spell of bad luck during World Cup 72. A target for their fury was manager Osman Ibarra, who was sacked by the Cenian Football Federation, and replaced by Kirk Koromin, father of star Kel Koromin and manager of Tir Snake Strike, Ceni's best club. The switch seemed to have improved morale by a bit, as the team got revenge on Welcomzia, Vermark, and Atrua (all by the score of 3-2) and drew Kirisaki. However, it was not enough, as the pesky Emperor Pudu managed to defeat Ceni, and Ceni did not qualify, with a low take of 18 points. Surprisingly, however, Ceni improved one spot in the rankings, to forty-fourth. At this seemingly happy news, however, Cenian officials rued that they could have advanced into the top 40 with a better performance. It came to the Cup of Harmony facing an identity crisis and a crisis of leadership. However, its Cup of Harmony - a let's see our problems run for new coach Kirk Koromin - did not work out so well, with a loss to Barunia in the Group Stage as well as a heartbreaking penalty kick defeat to Chiata in the Round of 16. Ceni came to the World Cup cautiously optimistic and hoped that it would finally qualify on its seventh attempt.

Finally Ceni achieved their goal in World Cup 74 on their seventh attempt. Led by Jaime del Olmo and Kel Koromin, the team once again fell to the Opening Match Curse, suffering a defeat to Matthewsiania away, but rebounded after that, only losing once thereafter. Among notable games were the 6-6 draw with Free Republics and the 2-1 win away against HopNation. The World Cup also marked the debut of manager Kirk Koromin in World Cup qualifiers and the Cenial Halcyon National Stadium, at which the national team has never lost. The team was second in their group and drew Gregoryisgodistan, which they beat on a penalty shootout at home with a maxed-out crowd of cheering fans. Finally Ceni had made it to the World Cup, where they lost to regional rivals Eura and Cosumar before beating (guess who) Free Republics for their first ever World Cup win on their first try. Now Koromin hopes to take his squad to the World Cup - and Beyond!

NEW GELDERLAND ROSTER FOR WORLD CUP 74 >>>
The New Gelderland Football Federation is proud to present the roster of the champions of the 60th Baptism of Fire for the World Cup.

GENERAL INFORMATION >>>
Style: -3
Football is one of the most popular and well-known sports in New Gelderland. Most people avidly follow or play football recreationally or casually. While the Euran League is the most popular league in New Gelderland, a nascent New Gelderlish league is forming to capitalize on the talent and interest of New Gelderland. As part of the popularity of football, the New Gelderland Football Federation was more than happy to send a team to its Terranean neighbors Eura and Valladares to compete in the Baptism of Fire, and, later, World Cup qualification matches home and away. At the first tournament that they ever played, the team won the 60th Baptism of Fire after a tense 3-2 victory over Fluvique. In their first World Cup cycle, New Gelderland reached the quarterfinals of the Cup of Harmony. New Gelderland further added the Olympic men's gold medal to their resume at the Olympics held jointly in Electrum and New Gelderland, and reached the quarterfinals of the 23rd Copa Rushmori, hosting on their first appearance.

Stylistically, the New Gelderlish national football team tends to play somewhat defensively. When playing on the offense, in contrast, the team tends to play opportunistically, watching and waiting for opportunities rather than all-out attacking. Offensive play also tends to focus on the midfield, where Louis Rhodes is more than capable of creating opportunities for Luke Virgo and Ben Griffin. Defensively, New Gelderland is known for producing very capable goalkeepers with good reflexes and eyes on the ball. The defensive side is also known for its good combination of man-to-man tactics as well as zonal defense and its tackling and pass interception abilities. With the ball, New Gelderland will likely pass the ball around until they see an opportunity; without the ball, they will try to force the ball into the defenders, try to intercept passes, or try and tackle.

Most of New Gelderland's football roster is, surprisingly, young, despite the expectations that New Gelderland would want to field its most experienced team. However, because of the dominance of the Euran league in New Gelderland's football history and the relative lack of prominence of Gelderlish players (who have not, until yet, had the opportunity to play professionally in a football league in New Gelderland), most of the best and experienced Gelderlish players are very young. This also correlates with a very young demographic trend in the population of New Gelderland itself.

Home Stadium: Olympic Stadium, Nassau Bay
Image

The Olympic Stadium in Nassau Bay, New Gelderland's largest city, holds a capacity of 54,000 when supporting football matches. A retractable seating area will be used during the Olympics (if the New Gelderlish bid wins) to convert the football pitch into a stadium suitable for athletics events. Closing ceremonies as well as some preliminary football matches would be held in the stadium as well. Located in the Westmore Bluff area of Nassau Bay, the stadium's normal tenants are Olympic Nassau Bay. The stadium will host a majority of New Gelderland's home matches. Other matches may be scheduled at the Lexington National Stadium with a capacity of 47,500 in Lexington.

History

Associated Godlands has always harbored a passion for the game, but the most organized play that existed was churches playing against one another. However, the Associated Godlands government has recently decided to take a more vested interest in soccer, starting with entering the World Cup. In Associated Godlands's first ever international match in the Baptism of Fire, 50,000 followers made the long trip to Star United States to see them play out a 0-0 draw against Recuecn. Associated Godlands then scored their first goal and earned their first win in the next match against United RussoAsia, a 3-0 victory. They followed that up with a dominating 4-0 win over Helmon to finish first in the group and make the knockout stages. Unfortunately, they didn't last long, falling 5-1 to Port Christopher in the round of 16. But fans were still optimistic about Associated Godlands's chances in the upcoming World Cup. However, those hopes largely fell flat. Associated Godlands, despite their occasional shows of flair and the heroics of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, often looked lifeless, and only managed one win in 14 matches, along with four draws. The seven-point showing was disappointing, but the Obeyers were consolidated with an invitation to the Cup of Harmony. Unfortunately, they struggled once again, only gaining one point and finishing last in their group.

The Obeyers then entered their second World Cup campaign, confident of rebounding. It started well enough, as they won their first two games, and they continued to stay in contention. Unfortunately, the Obeyers didn't manage more than 16 points, and they failed to earn a playoff berth. They then entered their second Cup of Harmony, but missed the knockout stages. Now they will finally achieve what God has set out for them - winning the World Cup.

Associated Godlands also has a rich history outside of soccer. The nation was established 2015 years ago when The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born and cast His glow over previously dark, barren lands. He made these lands, now called Associated Godlands, burst with life. Associated Godlands has been a paradise ever since.

WC 73 - Did not qualify

CoH 65 - Group phase

There has been a time when the choice for Joao Ferreira as national team manager was a contested and surprising decision, but that has certainly passed. A fairly successful qualifying campaign changed the tide and Os Gnus came within inches of breaking into the second round of the Cup of Harmony, being halted by a third goal of Gim. The Olympics offered a great opportunity to field a few young players but also was the end of an era.

The era of Flavio Kanté, to say so. The best Banguela had to offer so far saw his career end unfortunately with a torn ankle and in a way, it puts an end after what could be seen as the first generation of Banguelan footballers. Along with him, a few others disappear from the selection such as Carlos Neto, the sympathetic striker and Ze Vidigal (6 goals in 16 appearances). Others, such as Nefala and the depressed goalie Guilhermo Marques were not selected by Joao Ferreira. There were some criticisms, especially from Uniao Mpulo fans, that members from the championship winning team such as André Nuno and specifically the talented defensive midfielder Rui Vunguidica aren’t present.

As a consequence, we see a younger group which builds on the experiences of the Olympics. No wonder that it’s there that the manager found his additions to the squad, Kubunga and Fabricio Santos to start with. It does not stop him to rely on a fairly similar starting squad with the same tactical scheme - even if with Bogwa and Joaquim Lebo, there appear a few new faces. The only question mark remains whether Amarinho will be able to carry the heavy testament left by Flavio Kanté, if he can bring the 5-3-2 to the same heights. The Campionato Esportiva certainly didn’t answer it yet, as reaching the quarterfinals there might be a splendid result, but the 6-0 whipping offered by San Jose Guayabal immediately placed everything back in perspective.

1. Joao Pinto - goalkeeper - Uniao Mpulo - 24 appearances

At the age of 33, Joao Pinto constitutes a capital element within the iron backbone of Uniao Mpulo, without hesitation considered as the strongest sides across the nation. The lanky Joao Pinto is notorious for the miraculous saves he shakes out of his gloves at times but makes a gaffe every once and a while as well. Still ’A Pantera’ is an almost undisputed number one for the nation and one of the faces of this national eleven. It is the result of guarding the nets for Uniao for twelve seasons in a row, growing from a young kid with a big mouth into a more forethoughtful goalkeeper who can lead a back four and earns respect from fans and opponents alike. The vice-captain of the Banguelan side is a vital key player.

Image
2. Ze Mata - right defender - Uniao Mpulo - 23 appearances – 1 goal

There are a few solid laws in football that are seldom broken and one of those is that you do not position guys who reach below a metre seventy as defender. Ze Mata defies that rule already 31 years with class and volume. ‘A Buldogue Negro’ will be the first one on and the last one off the training pitch and all those hours result in a very strong right back. When in defence, he has a proper tackle in his skillset along with a good insight and dedicated teamplay. Offensively, he often pops up at the wing both for a long pass or in a combination over the ground. It makes Ze Mata a polyvalent player who is beloved by fans and coaches for his positive attitude towards the group. A true key man for Uniao Mpulo, despite his size.

Image
3. Joaquim Lebo - central defender - SC Bassuto – 14 appearances

Only 22, Joaquim Lebo should be considered a long-term choice as this two-footed back has potential to go far. At Tshemanda Clube, he was already a starter at eighteen, if that’s a testimony to his potential. Not afraid to face more physical opponents and not too slow either, he can handle any type of opponent. Even if he is already quite mature for his age, an occasional moment of lack of attention is not impossible. His debut on the national side was mixed, showing the very best but also difficult moments, but what followed lived up to the expectations. His rise to national team starter has been supported by a transfer to SC Bassuto, one of the big two of Banguela. It’s good to see him aside of Djalma Yaba, he should learn to grow to his level.

Image
4. Djalma Yaba - central defender - Brasília Suchitoto [SJG] - 28 appearances, 1 goal

The main back will be Djalma Yaba, who must be considered as the strongest defender in the nation and is the new captain. After receiving a thorough guidance at Academica Bassuto, he was transferred to Sporting Clube Bassuto at 21 where he formed an unbreakable duo with Bada. Currently 28 years old, Djalma Yaba can account on the whole package for the modern defender: a strong header and tackler, the impressive speed of a lanky player yet powerful enough to survive the duelling. The main criticism on this gifted defender stems from his tendency to give risky passes – root of either a brilliant opening or a dangerous situation. His bright performance at the BoF earned him a lucrative transfer to San José Guayabal where he’s a star player for four seasons already.

Image
5. Luis Cangé - left defender - Atletico Ntangele - 21 appearances – 1 goal

‘A tad boring’ seldom is a compliment but Luis Cangé carries that predicate with pride. The calm and reliable left back has not got too much to offer when it is about offensive initiatives but the 29-year old forms someone with the tactical discipline and insight for the manager to build on. Domestically, he is feared by the countless quick-feeted wingers that terrorize our pitches for his well-timed and correct tackles. Another way in which Luis Cangé reminds one of a government bond is the lack of risk he constitutes: the Atletico Ntangele player hardly ever picks up a yellow card and picks certainty over anything in his passing. He might be the least talented starter of them all but don’t consider him as a weak link.

Image
6. Chingala - left winger - Llara Llera [SAN] - 22 appearances – 2 goals

It is not easy to give a specific position for Chingala, but we generally tend to categorize him as a left midfielder at 31. As a player for SC Bassuto, he usually managed to be left back and left wing at once, not afraid to make a rush into space nor go and keep an opposing attacker in control. It made Chingala a vital player for SC and their mastermind Flavio Kanté as he is both a vacuum cleaner and an offensive option to get the ball to. His cross passes are not exceptional, but he makes up in volume for that. For someone who spends most of his time on the wing, his control over a long pass is very strong. It all makes the calm Chingala a silent force for the national side and his new club side Llara Llera, a late foreign adventure for him.

Image
7. Figuerinho - defensive midfield - Luis Ángel Firpo [SJG] - 26 appearances – 2 goals

With Figuerinho, at 26 still not at his peak, the manager added a whole different type of defending midfield to his squad. A bit slim for the position, he makes up for raw power with impressive insight in the game and crucial positioning. This polite son from a former minister puts as little risk as possible in his game, but can dictate the pace and forms an unnoticed maestro with that. His impressive calm made him despite his age already captain for Vitoria, being overlooked due to his lesser stats. The Guayabalan side Luis Ángel Firpo understood that his other skills firmly compensate that and signed him for four seasons. His typical skills are very useful when time asks for it and it earned him a spot in the starting squad.

Image
8. Edison Joao - central midfielder - Riuwiee United [ABH] - 24 appearances – 3 goals

While Edison Joao was often overlooked by the big masses, this powerful midfield gained a status as cult hero for Desportivo Mpulo despite only being 28 yet. The reason is his grinta, his willingness to go for every ball and capacity to cover a lot of ground for ninety minutes. Do not mistake him as a simple box-to-box runner, Edison Joao has a fine pass in his left foot and often stimulates the counterattack with his dangerous infiltrations. Something that hasn’t been missed by the national manager which earned him this selection, despite his lack of calmness eye-in-eye with the goalie. Not undisputed initially, he punched his ticket to the starting eleven with his stamina and delivered a few assisting passes. Rewarded by a foreign transfer to Abanhfleft.

Image
9. Bogwa - right attacker - Uniao Lumpala - 8 appearances - 2 goals

Playing for a mid-table side of the Superliga, Bogwa has been getting accustomed to battling against strong opposition with little support. A pocket-size player, he has impressive technical skills and dares to shoot from unexpected corners, but not always with the same result. The Lumpala forward has earned some fame for his capacity to score penalties from which, according to the legend, never missed a single one. A guy with potential and he has grown from an interesting reserve player when battling against a firm double wall into a starter with the retirement of Ze Vidigal. At 24, this guy still has room for improvement and he secretly hopes to seduce a big side with his performance here and join the contingent of Banguelans abroad.

Image
10. Amarinho - attacking midfielder – Gorfalle Town [FFD] - 13 appearances – 1 goal

Several descriptions are made, attempting to grasp him as so few defenders can. ‘The quicksilver legs’. ‘The twirling terror’. ‘The dribble of the Gods’. ‘The uncatchable one’. Uniao Mpulo fans generally just describe him as Amarinho, their beloved number ten. No Banguelan manages so well to tear apart a defence and decide a game with a clever pass, a witty back heel or a piercing shot. Hardly reaching a metre seventy-five, his reaction speed is exceptional as is his touch of the ball. Despite his rebellious image, it goes with a clever head that often thinks one step ahead. But his stamina and bad relation with Joao Ferreira kept him on the bench for a long time. He has been revived by his transfer to Gorfalle Town and now must show the same for the national side.

Image
11. Rui Mokanga - left attacker - North Laithland [NPH] – 21 appearances – 13 goals

Without any doubt the sturdiest of our present strikers, the 24-year old Rui Mokanga is discovering how quick a take-off can go in football nation. Only five years ago, he was discussing quiting football, not making enough as left attacker from the minor Clube Tengala to support his family. But out of the blue, Uniao Mpulo picked him up and after a few months with the youth squad, he got promoted. Rui Mokanga impressed there with his lethal combination of natural strength and unexpected speed of execution. Despite being over a metre ninety, his handling of the leather is fluent and infiltrations to be feared, with a proper outcome in goals. Has grown mature and become a starter, leading into a transfer to the highly respected North Laithland.

Image
12. Landa Landa - goalkeeper - Azules de Feranda

Landa Landa has been promoted to back-up goalie at 26 and many say that might be his peak with the promising Fernandao behind him, but you never know. Quite spectacular and not afraid of giving a little bit of drama to his saves and coaching but beyond that surface there is a sturdy and reliable goalkeeper who has the capacity to build a nice career. An advantage is as well that he recognises his position in the picking order and that he will just appreciate being on the bench along with all these big players. It is exactly that which makes him so interesting for Joao Ferreira, as he plays for the weakest team of all those present. Little extra, he designs and sells goalie gloves in his spare time.

Image
13. Mananga - central attacker - SC Bassuto - 7 appearances – 1 goal

We’re still not entirely sure whether his manager meant it as an insult or as a compliment but he once said about Mananga that he’s “the worst footballer to score so often”. A late bloomer, only seven years at the highest level with Sporting Clube Bassuto but already 33, he never earned the respect he deserves. Admittedly, his skill level is low and fans used to snicker when another attempted dribble got smothered between his clumsy legs. A grin that quickly would disappear once he fired one behind his goalie. Mananga ain’t a technical ace but compensates this with a range of physical skills which make him a difficult fellow to defend and a state of mind which is necessary for a striker - confidence in that he’ll turn that one little chance into a decisive goal.

Image
14. Kubunga - attacking midfielder - Tshemanda Clube - 4 appearances – 1 goal

Apart from Amarinho, there is no one in the selection who can match the potential of Kubunga, the sensation of Tshemanda Clube who is about to sign for a major side. At only seventeen, he made his debut and impressed fans and foes with his infiltrations into the box. It’s a short guy, but not an all-out striker as he likes to lean back, both for picking up the ball and fighting his duels in midfield. Time will tell if he has picked it up, but for many he is the true heir to Flavio Kanté. As of today, however, Joao Ferreira rather sees him as an excellent ace up his sleeve, someone who should primarily learn the ropes with an eye on the future. Not the easiest in terms of character, but you could say that that is what unites the stars.

Image
15. Fabricio Santos - left defender - Uniao Lumpala - 4 appearances

At the tender age of 22, Fabricio Santos forms a potential future pillar of the Banguelan side. His performances at the Olympics, in a formation with four defenders, demonstrated that he’s at the same time tactically wise yet refreshingly creative when given the chance. With Uniao Lumpala, he’s part of a team where young talents such as himself receive some time to grow but it seems the time’s near when he will clap his wings and fly out. It seems quite correctly to scale him high, but he’ll have to work on his stamina to reach the absolute top and we love his rushes, but there should be more done with it. As the sole potential replacement for Chingala, we can see him pick up some minutes but will he fit in the plan of Joao Ferreira?

Image
16. Jacinto Freite - central defender - Uniao Mpulo - 15 appearances

It is an enigma to several followers of the career of Jacinto Freite how he eventually ended up as a central defender. The young version of this tall bundle of muscles was used as a targetman by numerous coaches, until a series of unexpected injuries forced the Uniao Mpulo manager to position him as defending midfield. A season later, Jacinto Freite was pushed even a row more back. The result? A sturdy back with an impressive header, tons of horse power and a remarkable rush forward every once and a while. When dominating, as Mpulo often does, this makes him a match decider quite often but if his team is not the superior side, the lack of experience of this 32-year as pure defender becomes a bit more visible.

Image
17. Cristobal da Silva - central defender - SC Bassuto - 1 appearance

In general, Joao Ferreira tends to add youngsters to the line-up but with the 28-year old Cristobal da Silva, he made an exception. With a good reason, however, as da Silva managed to salvage the gaping hole left in the SC Bassuto defence upon the departure of Djalma Yaba. Many question if he will have plenty of playing minutes as the starting three stand firm and Joaquim Lebo forms a raw diamond but when he will have to hit the pitch, da Silva should not disappoint. Not specially tall, but a good header, not specifically quick, but a good pace, not a natural leader, but good vision. If put in a combination with the right people, he can do his bit of the job. Especially interesting as he has a proper right foot, a surprisingly seldom skill in our CD compartment.

18. Lopes Valdo - right defender - Desportivo Mpulo – 2 appearances

The back-up for Ze Mata comes from the neighbours of Desportivo Mpulo with the 27-year old Lopes Valdo who demonstrates that talent eventually will hit the surface. At only 17, he suddenly popped up in the first team of Mpulo FC but three years later his dream was a nightmare and his contract disbanded after disciplinary issues. After a year working in construction, Desportivo gave him a second chance at glory and hasn’t regretted so far. Lopes Valdo combines three lungs with a fine cross pass into the box. Not afraid to join the attack, he is beloved by the audience but that doesn’t make this right wing defender neglect his defensive tasks. Could work on his timing and a proper header would be fine as well, but nonetheless his career is finally back on the rails.

19. Wilson Zuela - central midfielder - Randoil Purtaruca - 4 appearances – 2 goals

Central midfielder Wilson Zuela, a crafty fellow who earns his wage for Randoil Purtaruca, the brand-new club founded for professional football by the nation’s biggest oil company, impressed during his sole game in the BoF. Before joining Randoil, this 25-year old got some attention playing for Progresso Purtaruca and Zanda SC as a clearheaded number ten. The stat that might have attracted the attention is the one of his assisting passes, where Wilson Zuela shows his vision quite often. We will see whether his refined passing will convince the non-believers or whether his pace of execution is too slow to handle the kind of teams Banguela faces. It’s a pity he plays for such a limited team, but it has given him some capacity as a natural leader.

20. Macabanga - left midfielder - Desportivo Mpulo – 1 appearance

Although he might seem a little unhandy at first, this 24-year old is an old-school left midfielder who can both create something on the wing whilst picking up some of the hard work in the centre. After breaking into the first team of Associaçao Bassuto a good five years ago, it took him some time to develop to an actual international but he has taken the step across the last season - a good pick from Joao Ferreira and the same goes for Desportivo Mpulo, who consider him as one of their main transfers and see a great couple in him and Edison Joao as engine for the team. A gentle guy with excellent reputation, the first one on the training pitch and the last one to give up. It does cover for his tactical limitations, but he works hard to solve that.

21. Fulco - right midfielder - Associaçao Bassuto – 7 appearances

The easiest way in which we can characterize Fulco is by explaining how this skilled right midfielder earned his name. Just to the south of Berange, his original home town where he played for the local side for nearly a decade before switching to Associaçao Bassuto two seasons ago, there lies a range of three volcanoes. Two of them have died out but the smallest one still rumbles and whirls every once and a while. Its name? Fulco. Limited posture gets made up with fire in his legs and heart. Fulco has interesting variety in his game, infiltrating to the centre from time to time but being capable of making a move over a wing attacker. A 27-year old who will always do his bit but that does include picking up a card every now and then.

22. Zito Miguel - left attacker - Uniao Mpulo – 2 appearances

Talking about challenges, here’s one. Zito Miguel was long overlooked as an nondescript and modest midfielder until some coach put him in attack at 18. One year later, he joined Azules de Ferandas and brought this mediocre team their potentially finest year with a series of quality goals combined with a good eye for his teammates. A combination that caught on and after a few rounds of bidding, it was eventually Uniao Mpulo that managed to snap him up as the new, potential Rui Mokanga. A heavy load to carry so it would be unfair to hold it against him that so far, he’s not the leading figure Uniao would have liked, but he still manages to find the net a proper amount of times. Might come in as an alternative against teams that play lower.

23. Fernandao - goalkeeper - SC Bassuto - 1 appearance

There is treason, there is high-treason and on top of all that, there is making a transfer from Uniao Mpulo to SC Bassuto. At nineteen, Fernandao already did this. Without any doubt one of our greatest talents left behind the club where he has gotten his training to escape the bench on which the impeccable Joao Pinto kept him. It takes a ballsy keeper to do so, but his guts go along with amazing qualities. A combination of impressive reflexes, remarkable maturity for his age and power in the box, he seems to have the whole package. Footwork could be better and self-assurance could turn against him at peak moments, but his sole appearance at the Olympics were a showcase of his vast possibilities - here’s the future number one.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Sure
Godmod scoring events: Please, not
RP injuries to my players: Fine, but not beyond the scope of the tournament
Godmod injuries to my players: Don’t
Hand out yellow cards to my players: All right
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, but only one
Godmod other events: If it’s funny

General note of advice - please read my previous RP, it should contain a line-up.
Also note that most of the names are one. It makes little sense to say "Mata" when referring to "Ze Mata". Colloquially, one can say "Ze".
