Yttribian-Vanorian Bid for the 61st Baptism of Fire

Postby Yttribia » Mon Jan 04, 2016 5:55 pm

The Vanorian Football Association
in association with
The Yttribian Football Federation
present a bid for
Baptism of Fire 61

I. Introduction

The nations of Valanora and Yttribia are proud to present a bid for the hosting rights to Baptism of Fire 61 to the Executive World Cup Committee.

II. The Hosts

Vanorians are a welcoming and friendly people, if not a bit withdrawn and egotistical. They see themselves as a more ascended people than their humanoid cousins in humans and dwarves, but also recognize the potential others have. Vanorians on the whole tend to care more about insular community building than what transpires in the rest of the world, except when Valanora or the good people of the world are severely threatened. With innate magical abilities, technoligical advances that include the legendary Space Elevator in Mar Sara, and inguniety that knows few equals, with an intense desire to live in harmony with nature. Valanora itself is a large empire, stretching from the island state of Vyinta in the west to the island port of Capri in the south and the edges of Caethersin in the east and Milran Serin in the north, taking up the whole of the remains of the supercontinent Arossia.

The average Yttribian can be described as a goodhearted cynic. Sure, they're not wizards or magical elves, but they're a resilient people. Unlike many other nations, being Yttribian is not defined by your ancestral roots, but defined by your passport and love for your country. A multicultural society, comprising of people native to these lands, people who can trace their family lineage back to the first colonizers, and recent migrants, the goal of Yttribia is to benefit everyone out there. The nation itself, while not as large as Valanora, is still pretty huge, ranging from the Urellian mountains that dominate the southwest, to the beaches of Penedès and their always sunny weather, in addition to the plains and forests that dominate the respective cantons of Fresnosa and Obersinn, closing off with the semiarid yet vibrant canton of Vauchel, and the hustling and bustling capital of Fontvieille.

III. Baptism of Fire Format

While we don't have any control over how many nations sign-up, we do have a general format laid out. Our preferred format is to have six groups of four, with the top two in each group, along with the four best third placed teams advancing into the tournament. Depending on the amount of sign-ups, we will alter the format to better suit it.

Assuming that six groups of four will happen, we will have Groups A-C play in Valanora, and Groups D-F play in Yttribia. The final will take place in Valanora, with Yttribia scorinating the final; conversely, Valanora will scorinate the third place play-off that will take place in Yttribia.

Throughout the competition, the following tiebreakers will be used: Points, H2H Goal Difference,H2H goals for, overall goal difference, overall goals for, and if necessary drawing of lots.

IV. Scorination and RP Bonuses

The scorinator will be the latest version of xkoranate, using the NSFS formula. As for the RP bonus, the hosts will opt not to reveal the scale, but we will tell you the RP bonus will be generous, and cumulative throughout the duration of the Baptism of Fire.

The Baptism of Fire is considered as the starting block for many of our forum's most talented writers. Because of this, we want to encourage the brand new RPers (and some returning faces) to focus more on quality rather than quantity. It doesn't matter if you happen to write this forum's equivalent of Crime and Punishment, or if your rap game would put Kanye to shame. As long as your RP's are creative and filled with great quality, you will be rewarded.

V. Past Experience

When it comes to past experience on here, both of the bidders have excellent experience in NS Sport, with both users having hosted a WCC tournament, and a regional tournament, in addition to some other stuff. To go in depth, here's what we've hosted.

The person behind Valanora has hosted a lot of things. And she means a lot of things. For example, she's hosted at least 15 WCC-sanctioned events. Some of these include World Cup 72 (with Equestrian States), and Cup of Harmony 59 by herself. She has also hosted regional tournaments for Atlantian Oceania, Rushmore, and serves as scorinator for the AOCL and has previously served as scorinator for the CdC. She also is the current curator for the Di Bradini Cup, the premier youth tournament on this website. Outside of football/soccer, she has scorinated the Hockey Champions League, and the World Cup of Hockey.

The person behind Yttribia is one of the most respected users and hosts on here. His resume includes the 71st World Cup (with Felix), the 61st Cup of Harmony (with Valladares), the 11th and 15th editions of the Campionato Esportiva (the former co-hosted with Nephara, the latter on his own). The user has also scorinated one edition of the Cup Winners' Cup, or Cygnus Cup. In addition, the user has hosted the eighth edition of the Under-15 World Cup as Mastille. The user has also scorinated the Excelsior Conference in NSCAA6, and Ultimate Cup IV back in 2014.

VI. All Star XI

To promote RPing from new nations, the two hosts have decided to implement an All Star XI for the tournament. While they will not take on either team in a friendly one-off match, these players will be heavily valued as stars to be, and will put their nation on the map as a future powerhouse in multiversal football.

Any questions can be made as a reply to this post, via TG, or on IRC.
