Ahead in Qualification
Symphony

On the beginning of Symphonian Masters, Indah Susanti become the only Pemecutanian players that have to compete in Qualification Round. And so far, she give a great result.

At the first qualification match, she met Theo Jourdain of Acronius. Jourdain give a great performance and able to balance his play with Susanti. It was very hard for Susanti to comes out as winner in the first set which have to go through deuce before she secure 7-5 points in first set. In the second set, Jourdain seems to be over the top. He able to tackled Susanti's moves and control much of the set. Jourdain eventually win by 6-3. In the third set, Susanti rise up and lead fast by 4-0. Jourdain unable to improve his performance and continue to failing. Susanti control the match and win it by 6-0.

On the second match, Indah Susanti met Luke Pool of Schottia. Pool previously won against Nico Angelo of Ethane in the first match. Susanti give a better performance during this match. And although Pool still able to difficult her sometimes but Susanti made her way through. Susanti win the first set by 6-4. In the second set, Pool performance seems to crumbled. Susanti takes this opportunities to take over the match and win it by 6-2.

Overall, Indah Susanti lead Group 6 with 2 wins. Her last match will be against Nico Angelo of Ethane. Angelo was lost in his first match against Luke Pool but made a comeback by defeated Theo Jourdain in the second match.

Electrum Lawn Tennis Association - News

Symphonian Masters to open

In what has to be an unprecedented moment in Electrum tennis history, all eight players and all four doubles pairs will break into the first round of competition. This comes after Electrum's sole qualifier, Greg Meares, who has experienced a fall in his rankings in the past few tournaments, come to his previous match-winning form, defeating Eastfield Lodge's Estela Fenton-Millington in three tight sets and then Sarah Dinsdale from Krytenia, also in three tight sets. In both games, he relied on quick and easy points from his service game, with many serves going unreturned. The notorious hard-hitting server, however still struggled on the opposing serve, his large lanky body refusing to budge, and the footwork needing lots of work. Despite his lack of agility, his opponents, as is often the case in the qualifiers, didn't usually hit well placed balls so that disadvantage was mitigated slightly. He will need to continue this form going into the third match against John Muir from Schottia. The Schottian is also undefeated, meaning that the winner of that final match will secure their spot in the main draw. If that happens, it will be one of a few times where all Electrumites have made it to at least the first round of competition, in both draws, both singles and doubles.

In the singles draw, Malcolm Press all by his lonesome in the top half faces the Devontan Joanna Cosby. In the bottom half, Deanne Smith faces Danjiela Zovic for the poisoned chalice of facing Johmer Vales. Carmichael Brown goes against Delgado, who will be playing his first match in recent months, due to the disappearance of the Astyrians from the ATP circuit. Samuel Gates goes against Thierry Garzala, and Hunter Roberts against a qualifier. Finally, the two Cassington sisters are in the same section, with the younger, Maya, facing Ion Traito, and Mia going against Jovanovic. In the doubles, Gates/Meares will play a qualifier for a shot against the Xal sisters. Levitt and Smith goes against wildcards Belo and Garcia. The big-speaking cannon Paul Quiront with his partner Garzala will play the Cassington sisters, whilst Gredello and Levinsky get a first round bye, courtesy of their ranking.

Meanwhile, the courts of the Centralis Tennis Park are undergoing revitalisation works, just a few weeks out from the Olympics. The outer courts are having additional seating installed for the projected audience numbers. As of writing, there will be 186 singles athletes and 114 doubles pairs (including mixed) vying for a shot at the gold medal, in their respective genders. This means at the same time, there will be at least a dozen matches playing, so that the tournament will keep to schedule. This obviously requires a lot of organisational effort, but the Electrum Lawn Tennis Association promises that players will be given ample time to rest, when they inevitably fly from Astyria to Rushmore for the Olympic Games. As always, there looks to be interesting surprises in store at the Olympics, with upsets abound. What some players on the ATP don't realise is that other nations hold their own tournaments, with a similarly high quality. Little-known players may do superbly well in the Olympics, which will make it all the harder for Sonya Gredello and Rosa Levinsky to defend the gold medal title. Avissians Andre Pedrinho Delgado and Belo/Garcia are also defending gold medalists in their respective disciplines (Delgado/Romao receiving a bronze in the mixed). Briana Powell had the unfortunate distinction of coming in fourth in two Olympic events, and will hopefully be correcting that with a win in these Olympics in some event. Non-ATP players who are returning to Centralis include Men's doubles silver medalists, Gunnar Crofts/Camron Wetmore from Swibia and Gregoryisgodistani Sex Slave bunch-o-letters-and-numbers who won silver in the Women's singles.

"Game, set, and match Ms Reusmann."

Eliza jogged over to the net and shook hands with Roland Gervais. It had been a straight forward 6-3 6-3 win, against a familiar opponent, and she had held her serve well. She was actually really pleased with how she had served in the game; she wasn't sure what her first serve percentage was, but she really needed to check. It was one of the first matches she had played since turning pro, where she had really felt in control of the match. Her movement was better, she was winning points in at the net, and she felt so much more confident finding the line. For someone with a 119mph serve, it was important for Eliza to be able to really boss the rallies. It was also about having the patience, and being able to force your opponent to hit one shot too many. Her style of play worked well against some players, not so well against others. That was of course to be expected, but at some point soon she was going to have to raise the stakes. There were other surfaces, other challenges, and of course a much higher calibre of opposition out there.

'Bloody hell!' She muttered to her self and puffed out her cheeks as she headed over to the handful of supporters who had followed her applauding their support. She wasn't even sure if any of them were Schottic, but they seemed to have gotten behind her anyway. One more win and she was actually going to be at the Symphonian Masters! It was pretty hard to grasp as a concept, and it was going to take some getting used to. Things like this didn't really happen to her - she still got a jolt of genuine surprise when she came through a match.

Eliza couldn't help but wonder how it would go down back home, and whether she would be anywhere near the back page of the papers. She needed to calm down, she wasn't there yet, and no one remembered the nearly girl.

'Great game Liza, lets get off the court.' Jim Blyth was quick to put an arm round his charge's shoulders and lead her back to the changing rooms. 'The job is not done yet.'

'Thanks Jim.' She answered. 'And yeah, I know, I was already thinking that.'

'Good.' Jim replied. 'You've got to keep the same focus you had today and take it into the next match. Ross Algersuari is going to be no pushover, and you're going to have it all to do again.'

'I know Jim.' Eliza answered confidently. 'Believe me, I'm not going to be treating it lightly.' It was true, she wasn't. It was hard to take a game lightly when you were a bundle of nerves...

Symphonian Masters
Hello and welcome to the Symphonian Masters. My name is Jasmine Hollands and I will be
covering this international tennis tournament for you, keeping you updated on all the latest results
and information about the venues and our hopes for the tournament. Thank you for choosing to use
Ethane's premier government funded multi- media broadcaster to receive your information from, and
I hope you will be satisfied with our coverage of the event. I look forward to covering this event for you.
Lets have a look at our hopes for the tournament. Coming in as an unranked team, it is always difficult to predict where we will place because the players haven't been tested on the international stage against decent opponents. But I am going to say that we will do quite well. A few of our players- I'm not sure who yet- will get out the group stages and advance past the first round after the qualifications, based on our previous international results, but I do not expect Ethane to excel at this tournament because of their untested players, who need more experience before they can really do well.

Groups
Well, lets have a look at the qualification groups to begin with, to see which players the Ethane players are going to have to beat to advance.

Singles

Group 1
Rosie Garter, who is in group one, is going to have a difficult task to qualify. Pitted against many more experienced players, she is going to struggle to get a foothold in the group. Her lack of experience in international tournaments is also not going to help her, as she is not going to know how to play best against these world- class players. From previous experience against KRY, Rosie Garter is going to be hoping that she can take avenge on them for knocking Ethane out many times before. Jessica Moreaux is going to be playing to her best in the qualification rounds, which is going to cause difficulties for Rosie. The game against Carus Lurious is also expected to be difficult for Rosie. Keeley Sinai will be looking to try to beat Rosie as well, which is also expected. Overall, Rosie Garter is going to have a very difficult challenge to qualify for this tournament, and could see herself travelling home within the next few days.

Group 1 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Jessica Moreaux 2 2 0 4 0 +4 14
2 Keeley Sinai 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
3 Carus Lurious 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
4 Rosie Garter 2 0 2 0 4 −4 0

Rosie has struggled in this group and has no chance of progressing.

Group 2
Alastair Breaker has had experience on the international stage before, albeit not much, after being knocked out early in the Kinintern tennis competition. His energetic play is going to help him in this group, as well as the fact that he is fresh after not playing much tennis this year. Again, the nemesis of Ethane, KRY, is going to be trying to knock us out of the tournament and qualify themselves, giving Alastair a run for his money. Stuart Riley isn't expected to let Alastair get away with it easily, and will be fighting to stop him get the upper hand. The game against Romain Athenais is expected to be closely matched. Many people have seen the quality of both these players, but many people know that Alastairs energetic play could give him the win overall, although Romain is expected to have some tricks up his sleeve. Finally, that leaves the game against Marcelo de Santigo. Probably the best player in the group, he is favourite to qualify for the tournament in this group. Alastair is not expected to be able to win the game against him, but for all we know, he could cause an upset.

Group 2 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Stuart Riley 2 2 0 4 2 +2 14
2 Marcelo de Santigo 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
3 Alastair Breaker 2 1 1 2 2 0 7
4 Romain Athénaïs 2 0 2 1 4 −3 0

Alastair Breaker is doing fairly well, and is going to have to beat the group leader by a significant score to win the group.

Group 3
Thomas Hutchon is expected to show some hope for Ethane in this tournament. His strong style of play is expected to help him win some of the matches in this group, which seems to be weaker than the others. He is expected to have a chance of qualifying for the tournament. His game against Marcus Gabriel Alencastro is an important game, as this game will probably determine whether he has an advantage in the group or not off the bat, which will be important in this fairly closely matched group. His game against Lucas is not expected to be easy, it will be challenging for Thomas, but he is expected to do fairly well against Lucas, and hopefully win it, to send him to the top of the group. His final game against Giorgio Irani is expected to go fairly well as well, with many fans hoping this game will just be damage limitation rather than a must win game to qualify for the tournament.

Group 3 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Thomas Hutchon 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
2 Márcus Gabriel Alencastro 2 1 1 3 3 0 7
3 Lucas Theveneau 2 1 1 2 2 0 7
4 Giorgio Irani 2 0 2 1 4 −3 0

Thomas Hutchon has excelled in this group and it is most probable he will win the group.

Group 6
Nico Angelo is expected to be in a chance with progression, with his classic style of play, but it will not be easy. He is fairly closely matched with many of the people in the group, and after having represented Ethane in two international tournaments well, he is expected to repeat the same again here. His game against Luke Pool on the first day is important, as it is expected that Luke will be the most likely member of the group to run away with the group, so Nico will want to limit his rampage by winning that game. His game against Theo Jourdain is also expected to be closely fought, with the possible result uncertain, potentially tipping either way. The final game will also be important for progression, and it is unknown how Nico will play in this game. H may be limited by stamina on the final day, which is a risk, as he does seem to get tired out after long periods of play over a few days.

Group 6 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Indah Susanti 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
2 Luke Pool 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
3 Nico Angelo 2 1 1 3 3 0 7
4 Théo Jourdain 2 0 2 2 4 −2 0

Nico has a chance of progressing, but he will have to beat the current group leader by a fairly signifcant margin to pass her and win the group.

Group 7
Adam Samson, regarded as the best tennis player in Ethane, although slowly losing this ranking to younger players, will be hoping to qualify for this tournament to solidify his best player ranking. It is not expected to be easy for him, as he has been placed in a fairly difficult group, but he will be hoping to win the most challenging game on the first day against Eliza Reusmann. His game against Ross Algersuari is expected to be fairly easy, and he is expected to give the KRY team a beating that they deserve. His final game against Roland Gervais is also a must win, and he is expected to do fairly well in this game.

Group 7 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Eliza Reusmann 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
2 Adam Samson 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
3 Ross Algersuari 2 1 1 2 2 0 7
4 Roland Gervais 2 0 2 0 4 −4 0

Adam has a chance of progressing, but will have to win his games by a significant margin, and is relying on other match results in the group.

Group 8
Charlotte Little will be playing her first international tournament. Untested before, her full quality is unknown, so it is difficult to compare her to other players, but many people will be hoping she can prove her worth. She will be hoping to beat James Williams in her first game, who plays for KRY, because she feels that they are Ethane's greatest rivals, after their sarcastic comments about Ethane in the last tennis competition. She will also be looking to beat Jaimy Leger, who is also a good player. Her final game against Parker Stenkvist is expected to be difficult as well, but the selectors believe that she is up to the challenge. All the games in this group are expected to be extremely close.

Group 9
Alice Curson has to show her colours in this tournament after her disappointing results in previous tournaments. She will be expected to do fairly well in this group, which seems to be fsairly weak, however. Her first game against Aljaz Issac is expected to not push her too much, but if she loses this game, she will be sabotaging her international career. Her second game against Sarah Yon is expected to throw up a few challenges, but she is also expected to win this game through and through. It is only her final game against Diana Plath which is expected to be close for Alice, as this is the most closest matched player to Alice, who even though I believe she is unranked, still packs a punch to her play.

Group 9 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Alice Curson 2 2 0 4 0 +4 14
2 Diana Plath 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
3 Aljaž Isaac 2 0 2 1 4 −3 0
4 Sarah Yon 2 0 2 0 4 −4 0

It is going to be an exciting match for Alice, who will be in a full out fight between the two players topping the group to see who is going to win the group. Probably the best match to watch on day 3.

Group 11
The final singles competitor for Ethane, Jasmine Abraw, is expected to struggle in this highly competitive group. She is expected to fight, but it is thought that she will often fall at the last hurdle, as she doesn't seem to have that match finishing skill. Her game against Andrew Baumgartner is extremely difficult, but is expected to be close, although it is unlikely she will beat him. Her second game against the name I cannot pronounce/ write is again, expected to be another closely fought game, but again, it is expected to come down to the fact that Jasmine is just slightly less clinical than the opponent. Her final game against Jim Cowie is expected to be just formalities based on my predictions for the other games, as it is expected she will be bottom of the group with no hope of qualifying at this point.

Group 11 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Andrew Baumgartner 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
Iohanna Márcia Enderssen-Moura 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
3 Jasmine Abraw 2 0 2 2 4 −2 0
4 Jim Cowie 2 0 2 0 4 −4 0

Jasmine Abraw is gone, there is no chance of her qualifying. She will be going home after the match tomorrow.

Doubles

Group 1
Jake Cartson and Steven King are an untested doubles pairing, but in practice they have been showing promise. Their first game against Rob Westfelt and Ken Gates is expected to be fairly easy. Their opponents won't go down without a fight, but it is common knowledge that this pairing is amazing. Their second game against Theo Jourdain and Lucas Theveneau is expected to be a much closer game for the Ethane pairing. They are expected to win, but they know that they are expected to win. Their final game against Eva Fabia Soares and Vera Adriana Soares is expected to be difficult, but the Ethane pairing are expected to put up a fight.

Group 1 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Jake Cartson/Steven King 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
2 Rob Westfelt/Ken Gates 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
3 Eva Fabia Soares/Vera Adriana Soares 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
4 Théo Jourdain/Lucas Theveneau 2 0 2 1 4 −3 0

Set up to win the group in style on day 3, almost impossible to surpass now.

Group 2
Oscar Bowermars and Julie Syncole are expected to be in a chance with winning the group to qualify, but it will be a challenge, especially sharing a group with Michael Legrand and Juan Ortiz. The Ethane doubles first game against Mandy Miller and Tara Chris is not expected to throw up too many challenegs, but this will not really test them for their game against the problem team from KRY- DAMN IT IS ALWAYS THEM! Ethane are expected to put a fight up against Michael and Juan, but it is expected that the KRY team will win, although it is expected to be closely fought. Their final game against Rayford Wise and Dhaakir Prieto is expected to not be too difficult for Ethane, but they will have to win this to qualify based on my other predictions.

Group 2 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Michael Legrand/Juan Ortiz 2 2 0 4 1 +3 14
2 Oscar Bowermars/Julie Syncole 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
3 Rayford Wise/Dhaakir Prieto 2 1 1 2 2 0 7
4 Mandy Miller/Tara Chris 2 0 2 0 4 −4 0

Still in with a chance of winning, but relying on the results of other games.

Group 4
Ethan Manners and Susan Ingram are expected to challenge for qualification in this group, although they will be facing a quality doubles team in Jeremy Metagne and Elizabeth Corbisieri from KRY (COME ON!!! ALWAYS THEM). Their first game is against the problem team, so they will be thrown right in at the deep end in this tournament. It is expected to be a KRY win, but yet again, like every match against KRY teams, it will be closely fought, but likely end up with a KRY win. Their second game against Kiersten Bullock and Reina Jaber is not expected to throw up many challenges, with a win most probable. Their final game against Peter McLeod is again,a must win game based on my predictions- BECAUSE OF A KRY TEAM- and will be difficult, although it is expected that the KRY team will win all their games and be the team that qualifies.

Group 4 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Jeremy Metagne/Elizabeth Corbisieri 2 2 0 4 2 +2 14
2 Ethan Manners/Susan Ingram 2 1 1 3 2 +1 7
3 Kiersten Bullock/Reina Jaber 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
4 Peter McLeod/Anna Jones 2 0 2 2 4 −2 0

Still in with a chance of winning the group, but relying on the results of other games on day 3.

Group 6
The final doubles pairing of Ethane is Jordan Bennet and Lucy Hockers, who have no experience. Hoping to show the selectors why they picked them, they will go into their first game with all guns blazing. Their second game will be interesting to watch as well. Basically, I have never seen this team play before and have no idea what they can do.

Group 6 Pld W L PF PA PD Pts
1 Jordan Bennet/Lucy Hockers 2 2 0 4 0 +4 14
2 Giorgio Irani/Clementina Travers 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
Luke Pool/Eliza Reusmann 2 1 1 2 3 −1 7
4 Morgan Granger/Parker Stenkvist 2 0 2 2 4 −2 0

Almost impossible to not win the group now, if they don't win the group, this will probably be the biggest comeback in history of tennis on NS sports???
Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.

Electrum Lawn Tennis Association - News

Centralis Tennis Park revitalisation works nearing completion

The Centralis Park, which has seen multiple courts gain additional seating has also seen another upgrade: The Janine Gredello, which was partially under construction during the last Electrum Slam is about to be completed. The former arena, which used to only have small sections roofed over had some improvements over the last Slam. Now that the Electrum Slam is over, this has allowed the builders to come right in, rip up the grounds and the seating, and to start all over. Here are the progress pictures:

Here is a transcript of the minister's speech:

Minister Andrew HARRIS: I want to thank everyone for coming to Janine Gredello on this wonderful day, just a dozen or so days before the Olympics have started. I'm proud to be part of the team which has secured additional funding for the ELTA and the Centralis Tennis Park, and we'll continue to pump money into this precinct so that we can continue hosting one of the ATP's most finest tournaments, a grand slam. We want to have a first class facility here in Centralis, and with four retractable roofs, we are on our way towards securing our status in the ATP calendar. This weatherproofs our event from rain and heat, meaning play can continue and we can keep to the schedule.

ATP World Tour - News
Curse of the seeds continues as only 6 of 16 seeds survive the second round
The only seeded player to remain in the bottom half of the draw is Amancio Raimundo Belo of Costa de Ouro as a shocking chain of upsets shook the Symphonian Masters draw to its foundations. In the top half, first seed Kika Dovan lost to #78 ranked Dominic Ripaldi 4-6, 2-6; qualifier Jessica Moreaux (ranked #84) defeated fifteenth seed Paul Quiront 1-6, 7-6, 6-2, saving match points in the process of coming down from 5-3 in the second set; sixteenth seed Stephen Perez lost to Neia Dovan, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. In the bottom half, though, seeds fell like flies: Danjiella Zovic defeated Electrum Slam champion Johmer Vales 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, despite a late comeback by the Slam winner; Carmichael Brown defeated finals contender and Astyrian favorite Aline Luiza Romao 7-5, 4-6, 6-3; Thierry Garzala eked out a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over finals contender Ngurah Putra Muliawan. World #51 Alma Semmes had a much easier time of it, defeating TOCAO champion Marisa Maradona 6-2, 7-6. World #57 Hunter Roberts shocked #5 Lonus Varalin by a score of 6-4, 6-4; world #70 Rog Ion Tralito of Natanians and Nosts defeated #6 seed and finals contender Andy Amada 7-5, 6-3. Only 12th seed Amancio Raimundo Belo came out ahead, beating Mia Cassington 6-4, 6-4, with one break of serve enough to seal the win.

The doubles was not as severe, but #7 team Komang Antari and Kadek Andreawati lost to Semmes/Zovic, 2-6, 6-2, 6-7, in a tightly contested third set tiebreaker. Quiront/Garzala further defeated the Cassington sisters in a close three-setter, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4; Antari and Andreawati have already qualified for the Tour Finals while the Cassingtons hoped to enjoy a good tournament performance in order to secure the last spot in the doubles event.

Below, a chart explains how the losses and wins affected the finals chances of the remaining contenders:

World Tour Finals contenders
Botack Andiam - Qualified.
Marla Gerard - Qualifies if she wins third round match.
Andy Amada - Due to his second round loss to Rog Ion Tralito while Dewa Putu Adrian Putra won, he is no longer able to overtake the Pemecutan player and is no longer in contention.
Dewa Putu Adrian Putra - Qualifies if wins third round match.
Ngurah Putra Muliawan - No longer in contention due to the second round loss to Thierry Garzala.
Aline Luiza Romao - No longer in contention due to second round loss to Carmichael Brown.
Marisa Maradona - No longer in contention due to second round loss to Alma Semmes.
Malcolm Press - Must win the title, only if both Marla Gerard and Dewa Putu Adrian Putra lose their third round matches.

Bryce Lord/Kelly Cicero - Qualify unless Thotan and Nagya reach the semifinals or Levitt and Smith reach the final.
Ellela Thotan/Ciache Nagya - Will qualify if they reach the semifinals, unless Levitt and Smith win the title.
Mia Cassington/Maya Cassington - Out of contention due to first round loss to Quiront/Garzala.
Joan Levitt/Deanne Smith - Must win the title given that Thotan and Nagya don't reach the final in order to qualify.

Just A Single
Symphony

Symphonian Masters has reached Third Round and only 1 Pemecutanian player left in the tournament. Dewa Putu Adrian Putra become the sole player that still in contention of Symphonian Masters.

In Third Round, Dewa Putu Adrian Putra who is 7th seed in the tournament met 13th seed, Ciache Nagya of Ceni. Nagya shocked Putra in the first set by taking over the match and difficult him. Putra couldn't improve his performance and continued to overshadowed by Nagya great play. Nagya eventually takes the first set with ease by 6-0. Putra rise up in the second set and contested Nagya performance. He build up his confidence little by little and able to balance his performance with Nagya. Putra's hard work fruited with his winning of 6-4 in second set. In the third set, the situation was turned upside down, as Putra had regain his confidence back. He eventually able to control the match right from the start. But Nagya still able to take a chance of Putra's slipping mistakes. But in the end, Putra win the third set by 6-2 and continue to Quarter Final of Symphonian Masters.

In Quarter Final, Dewa Putu Adrian Putra will meet Dominic Ripaldi of Neu Engollon who defeated Jessica Moreaux of Krytenia. Another Quarterfinalist are 4th seed, Botack Andiam of Ceni who meet 5th seed, Marla Gerard of Neu Engollon. Unseeded players, Danjiella Zovic of Neu Engollon will meet his fellow teammates, Alma Semmes. And lastly 12th seed, Amancia Raimundo Belo of Costa de Ouro will meet another Neu Engollon player, Lizbet Rittenhaus. With this result, for the first time Neu Engollon dominate Single Competition tournament with 5 players in Quarter Final. While the Double Competition seems to be balance between Ceni and Neu Engollon with 3 teams each.

"Good evening, Neu Engollon. Dom Toglani here with you, and you’ve got on the NETV Sports 19 Update. We're well into the Symphonian Masters now and as you can see, most of the NETC players are doing well. Notably, Matti Doerwald was unable to move on through the round of 56 and as we can see from the footage after the match, he was devastated. He was consoled by many of his teammates. And there would be more consoling to do up to the point of today's matches.

It is amazing how the NETC team has come together and gelled this year. Even when they have to play each other in a tournament later stage, they still keep it very civil, of course, with one exception.

Mr. Quiront, as the match heated up with his opponent, Jessica Moreaux of Krytenia, during the Round of Thirty Two, resorted to many of his old tactics...Banging his racket on the net and court. Shouting over every call the officials made that went against him and whining that they clearly didn't see the line from their angle...Snide comments thrown at Moreaux. In the end, karma caught up as it always does.

After an extremely hard fought middle set, the Krytenian woman triumphed in the last game, taking advantage of some serving errors by the Neu Engollian. That was the start of Paul's downfall. The next set saw him lose steam, missing easy returns and some close net action that he wasn't able to rush under.

Moreaux took the last set, and therefore the match, as Paul Quiront imploded on the court. He's out now, eliminated from the tournament, and I think everyone can agree that we can all do without seeing another episode from him. Although, I could also be wrong on that, as Quiront's meltdowns seem to be viral on the internet.

Moving along, we saw quick, tight wins from our veteran ladies, Alma Semmes and Lizbet Rittenhaus against their opponents, Maradona of Ceni and Ivanovic of Costa de Ouro, respectively, as well as another two set win from the new Hai'lu'kai Open champion, Marla Gerard. Solid play from Garzala, Ripaldi and Zovic got them their matches and a seat in the Sixteen. Several Cenians ended up having to eliminate National teammates in order to get their seats, such is the system.

The doubles matches were intense, with Paul and Thierry taking on the Electrumite Cassington sisters in some up and down sets. They finally took them out, and Garzala managed to keep his teammate, Captain Ego, in check. Ripaldi and Doerwald dominated their match with the Natanians and the two superstars Gerard and Rittenhaus teamed up to shut out their Costenan opponents without letting one game be won by the hapless Soares sisters.

That brings us to today's matches. Once again, our NETC players fought hard to stay in this competition. Ripaldi put paid to Moreaux, but in a much more gracious manner than could ever have been achieved by Quiront. Gerard had a close first set with Dovan of Ceni, but was able to come up with a win. She would cement the second set and thus the match, to carry over to the quarterfinals.

Danjiella Zovic took down Carmichael Brown of Electrum to advance, but an obviously sore Rittenhaus had much more trouble with Brown's countryman, Hunter Roberts. Lizbet wore him down in the second set to take that match.

As invariably happens, some of the NETC players must face each other as the competition narrows. Such was the case for Thierry Garzala and Alma Semmes. Garzala was favored to win this, but was schooled by his elder, Semmes, as she turned the tables on him.

Even more startling was Alma's quick recovery to help double mate Danni Zovic take on their NETC teammates, Gerard and Rittenhaus. It had to be the upset of the day, as the favored latter pair were victims of Semmes' fire and Zovic's serve.

Garzala and Quiront still stay in the tournament in doubles form, having defeated Delgado and Romao of Costa de Ouro. We'll have more coverage of the matches coming up after this commercial break. You're watching NETV Sports 19. Stay tuned..."

"Bien-welk, Neu Engollon. You’re watching the NETV Sports 19 Update. I'm your host, Dom Toglani. All you tennis fans out there, and there are many in the Confederacy these days, were more than likely tuned into the finals of the Symphonian Masters. But...part of my job is to still cover it as if it is all fresh news.

First, to backtrack, we watched some intense sets in the singles semi-finals, all of them between Neu Engollian players. It was bittersweet, but it had to happen, in order for NETC players to win, NETC players had to lose. Dominic Ripaldi took on champion teammate Marla Gerard and held up nobly, only crumbling in the last three games to Gerard.

Likewise, the two female veterans of the NETC squad faced off against each other. Two very good friends and peers that have had to play each other over countless tournaments, but none more intense than this one. Lizbet Rittenhaus took the first set, and it may have looked like she had this one sewn up, as she has seemed to have had the upper hand and come out on top in most face offs with Alma Semmes, but by the second set, I think we all knew it was turning out differently. Semmes showed that fire that has been raging all tournament, and just because she was facing off against old friend, Rittenhaus, it didn't seem to dampen that determination one bit. Semmes fired back every salvo, keeping up her defense both close up to the net and in the backfield. Lizbet quickly wore down, with her serves not having their blitz effect, it seemed to suck something out of her. It was Semmes that rose her racket in triumph and in the third tie breaker set, there was no doubt she would do so.

Meanwhile, later that day we saw a Semmes run down and not measuring up to partner Danjiella Zovic in the match up against the men of the NETC, Paul Quiront and Thierry Garzala, who have come so far together when separately they came up so short. It would be easy to blame it on Alma's fatigue, when much credit is deserved by veteran Quiront and younger star, Garzala, as they were spot on with returns, brutal in their serves, and so quick to turn volleys to their advantage.

Another drama was playing out on the other court, where the Cenians were in the midst of their own civil war, with the Xals taking on Nagya and Thotan. Another see saw chain of events where the Xals dominated the first, flagged and threw away the second set, and came back to clinch the final set over teammates Ellela Thotan and Ciache Nagya.

Flash forward to today...
Ornery old man Quiront and young, steady Garzala took on the Xals of Ceni for the Doubles final. Domination in two sets as the Xals couldn't hold up to the onslaught of Quiront's serves and Garzala's backhand. From the start, it was near certain what the outcome would be, even though we have seen the Xals come back from worse.

Lastly, most impressively, the singles final with NETC teammates Alma Semmes and Marla Gerard. It was tough to see Lizbet on the sidelines, watching her two friends duke it out. Rittenhaus has one last International tournament left in her career, the World Finals Tour which will wrap up the season, and many hoped that she would be there in the finals to make the most of every chance on the court, but due to her defeat to bestie Alma yesterday, she had to sit on the sidelines. True to her character, Lizbet was all smiles and had encouraging words for both friends/teammates/competitors as they turned their rackets on each other.

The action was all in the first set, as we watched the two trade blow after blow. How many 'deuces' were called boggles the mind, but it was enough to give one doubt as to how this could possibly go in either players' favor. Finally, we saw Marla take the last game after too fierce volleys and that may have been the final straw that broke for Alma Semmes, as she never quite seemed to bounce back enough in what was to be the final set. Indeed, one of those games that went to Semmes was lost due to Marla's excessive faults more than Alma's slams. One last hurrah, before Ms. Semmes folded in the final three games to her younger friend and compatriot, Gerard. So Marla walks with both the Lake Hai'lu'kai Open and Symphonian Masters trophies, an impressive repeat performance for the latest darling of the Neu Engollian athletic world. Many are now saying that this is the dawning of the golden era of Neu Engollian tennis, but that may be a little premature to say for now, and one would think a whole other season of ATP tennis would be needed to cement such a statement. I am fully aware that just by repeating that over the air, I am contributing to the hyperbole, but it is difficult to not use such dramatic prose when describing today's moments for tennis in the Confederacy.

Of course, we're not seeing jubilant crowds in the streets of the major cities as we did most recently with the Goats win of the Rugby Union World Cup in Aels. Maybe that's indicative of the hierarchy of popularity of the sports, maybe it shows the inequality of gender in the Neu Engollian athletic community, or I would like to think, it demonstrates the more reserved, civilized, distinguished nature of tennis. There certainly are several indoor festivities happening around the country, and we will bring you some coverage of that when we come back after this next break. Also to come, more highlights, some previews and predicted match ups of what we can expect for the upcoming World Finals Tour, and of course, some scores of some of those other sports some of our athletes compete in. Keep it right here on the NETV Sports 19 Update, or you can also catch some coverage on our sister station, NETV Sports 7. Stay tuned, folks..."
