5th Atlantis Football Cup

Welcome, residents of Atlantis, to the Signups thread for the 5th annual Atlantis Football Cup.
Also note that all strictly OOC posts must go in this thread.
Who will win? Who will lose? Who will surprise some of us? All will be said after the tournament.
Also note there is a limit of one puppet per user.
If you have no idea how to Sports RP, check this thread (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=611) or just telegram Volcanoc.
If you have an intention to send a host bid, please view the thread above. Xkoranate, a good schedule and a good format for the tournament is required to win the vote. After Signups close, there will be a vote to decide the tournament host.

Please sign up by Saturday 31st October, 6:30am Melbourne Time if you wish to participate.

VOLCANOC BID FOR THE 5th ATLANTIS FOOTBALL CUP

IC: Volcanoc is a Religous dictatorship in the region of Atlantis. Formerly a territory of The Sword Bloke(OOC: Volcanoc's main nation), these guys rule the holy Volcanoc, a force of good up in the sky who kills people for doing bad and rewards one who do good. The Swordeans were defeated by the Volcanics, and the Volcanics gained their independence in 1963. Today, Volcanoc is an odd place full of big football fans.

FORMAT: My proposed format is for either:
8 Teams: 2 Groups of 4, top 2 make it to semis, and of course the winners make the final and losers 3rd Place Playoff.
or 9 Teams: 3 Pools of 3. There are 3 rounds: a game vs each of your opponents, and a bye match. First place in groups plus best 2nd place team go into semi finals. Final and 3rd place playoff. Groups will be drawn through random.org for this tournament.

MVP AWARDING: At the end of the tournament, each nation will be asked to submit a player which they have role played as being the best player on that team during that tournament. Following that, I will put all names into a randomiser multiple times depending on how many RPs you write and of what quality they are. You will get 1-8 entries into the randomiser. From there, the tournament MVP will be announced.

OOC: I have no experience of hosting as Volcanoc, but I have scorinated 2 seasons of domestic football leagues with The Sword Bloke. My cutoff time will be anywhere between 6:00-6:40am Australian Eastern Standard Time. The RP Bonus will be given if you send a quality RP; remember quality not quantity.

In the Everything Thread, you can start by posting a roster. The groups will already be up for you. A roster is your team players. A roster is very important in the tournament. Nothing fancy, just say who your players are and in what positions. And don't forget to RP, or role pay your games as well. You can also RP about national issues if neccesary. Just remember that if your opponent ROs before you, you need to go by what they say.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE
Match 1 Group: Sunday 8th November
Match 2 Group: Monday 9th November
Match 3 Group: Tuesday 10th November
Semi Finals: Wednesday 11th November
3rd Place Playoff: Thursday 12th November
Final: Saturday 14th November
All dates in AEST.

And with that, we have 6 Signups. The Signups have been PAUSED while voting goes on.
There are 3 options.

1. Vote for the Volcanoc bid (state if you want an 8 or 9 team tournament)
2. Abstain from voting.

Anyone who has signed up can vote, except for me and my puppet, Land of the South.
Please send all votes to Electrum Diplomatic Offices by 6:30am AEST Time on Tuesday the 3rd of November.
After that, the Signups will commence until we reach our proposed number of 8 or 9.

I didn't know by Atlantis it meant a region and by Signups being paused I ment he wouldn't add anymore till a certain time not like you cant put some down

Noted. And if nobody signs up in the next 12 hours, I'm cutting Land of the a South and doing a 6 team tournament. It would have 2 groups of 3, with 2 games a nation, and the the top 2 from each group go into semis and finals. If someone does signup, it will be an 8 team tournament,

And with the signup of Furniture, we have 8 teams, which means the Signups for he 5th Atlantis Football Cup are now closed. An Everything thread for you to post rosters and RPs, for me to scorinate, etc. is being opened ASAP. Please leave all Strictly OOC Comments in this thread. The groups are being done now.
