Map of Valanora

Valanora Information
The most important thing to know about traveling through Valanora is that automobiles are banned except for government officials. A high tech railway system connects the entirety of the nation, with three international airports in Raynor City, Gladerial, and Baysleef. A ferry from Rinaldi travels to and from the island of Capri every hour on the hour. The most distinguishing feature of Valanora is the prevalent amount of forests standing in many of the inner half of the nation, even in cities, with the elven attempts to live in harmony with nature. Vanorians are a polite if not a bit high on themselves, believing elvenkind to be superior to humans, though they show a respect for the potential their humanoid cousins have.

Cosumar U21 National Team - Di Bradini Cup 35

Image

Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Government: Cosumar is a Fiefdom, comprised of 21 provincial fiefs. Cosumar is a constitutional monarchy with King James II as its head. The tenets of complete civil rights, protecting nature, advancing knowledge, and exploring outer space are held dear.

Region: Atlantian Oceania

Nicknames: Dragons (Officially "Azure Dragons"), Vanquishers, Heathens (derogatory)

Colors: Royal Blue, Silver, White

Stadium: The Royal Palace (capacity 54,000) in Ramusok

Team: The roster consists of 24 players, 21 of which are standard human (homo sapiens). The other three, all reserves, are Vloo (homo cosumarensis), a sentient species native to Cosumar. Vloo are humanoid and approximately two inches taller on average, and they must wear different cleats due to their unique foot structure. The range of athleticism in Vloo is similar to that of humans, but they have blue skin and two small horns on the top of their head. Many Vloo's horns are covered by their thick, black hair. You can recognize which players are Vloo by their surnames: which usually begin with the prefixes Na'- or Va'-. In the image of Gethin Ramsey's reinvented senior team, Johannes Sulo's squad plays a balanced game, using high pressure to force mistakes and capitalize on them with quick, up-tempo passing. This generation of young Cosumarite talent features players already in leagues around the world including Taeshan, Kernansquillec and Semarland in addition to our own. After DBC 34, in which we were doing very well, was frustratingly cut short due to organizational shortcomings, many young players were reluctant to leave their clubs for the tournament this time around. Most ultimately did join after much convincing from Sulo.

Kits

Since it should be an honor of great prestige to don the uniform of the senior National Team (one that must be earned), our youth teams do not use the same one. Our U21 team will wear the old kits that were used in World Cup 70 and decommissioned prior to World Cup 71. Courtesy of Meski Sports. The home (left) and away (middle) kits feature the colours of the Cosumarite flag as well as the iconic Azure Dragon that resides in Cosumar's northeastern forests. The goalkeeper kit (right) is swathed in green and gold - the colours of the royal family.

Schottia U21 Squad
Di Bradini Cup 35

---------------------------
Manager: Grant Nean
Ass Manager: Andy Ryden
First-team Coach: Judy Scott
GK Coach: Hannah Russell
Physio: Duncan Collison.
------------------------------

After something in the way of a Schottic management reshuffle, the Under-21 squad has not escaped the same upheaval. After Jane Gullie left New Belfast Warriors to take charge of the national team, her place was taken by Jock Sonny, leaving a vacancy for the Di Bradini Cup campaign. Coming in is Grant Nean, who after helping the U-18s to the quarter finals in the Free Republics, had some success in a short stint as caretaker of the senior team. Needless to say, Nean and his assistant Andy Ryden have had a good track record over the last cycle.

Nean's sides are best known for their balanced and fluid style of play, with long patient build up, and an emphasis on short accurate passing. This is in stark contrast to some of the Schottia teams of recent years, which have played a more direct counter attacking style.

Team info

With Nean and Ryden taking up charges there are likely to be a few changes to the current personnel, as the pair generally favour hard working players in the central positions. A good footballing ability coupled with high concentration levels is essential to the way they set their teams up. With this in mind centre-back pairing of Ben Ross and Gareth Souter will be perfect in this role. They are capable of passing the ball out of defence, keeping possession, and taking time to build up the attack.

Nean normally favours a midfield three, and in this instance he will probably opt for Boris Hunt, Caitlin L'Attue, and newcomer Erin Braden. Laketown Rangers player Hunt has served Nean well with the national team before, and the manager obviously sees him as someone he can work with. L'Attue is a DBC winner from two seasons ago, and although she is more of a winger, the D'Itille teenager has the passing ability to play a more central role. Braden is called up for the first time at this level after making the switch to SPL side Kings Park. The 20-year-old combines running and energy with some subtler passing.

In attack the team will operate a flexible three upfront system, spearheaded by Maximum Rovers' Lucy Curren, who didn't feature much in last year's tournament. The young striker, who has played co-ed football her entire career will add some grit to the attack, giving the defenders something extra to think about. Just behind her will be fellow Nepharim League player Chloe Rudden, who has senior caps to her name, and whose pace is second to none in the side. Completing the line up is the enigmatic Akiko, who may perhaps struggle in this set-up. A criticism often sent the young player's way is that other than at Kelsy, where the team is built around her, she cannot operate in a modern footballing system. In terms of technically ability and trickery, she is the best in the squad, but will that be enough for Nean, a manager who demands his pound of flesh.

Home -- Reverse -- Away

Image

Squad:

Image

GK Scott Torrance, Image Sarrburgh Town, 21. Height: 190cm. Weight: 88kg
Torrance has built up a reputation as one of the best keepers in the league, with an impressive number of clean sheets. The 21-year-old spent three cycles as understudy to Jeremy McNott, so he will be relishing this opportunity.

RB. Bella Thompson, Image Nomad Brotherhood, 20. Height: 175cm. Weight: 64kg
Thompson is a quick feisty wing-back, who lunges into challenges, and is quick to pick herself up after a scuffle. Despite playing in the second division in Cosumar, she is highly rated by her country and tipped as a future internationalist. The former Handon Ladies player is of an athletic build and brings pace and an attacking edge to the team.

L/CB Saskia Holden, Image Bayer Phoenix, 18 Height:162cm Weight:54kg
One of the surprise inclusions in last year's squad. Holden shocked most of the Schottic fans by going from a virtual unknown to the Bayern Phoenix first team, helping them to fourth in the league during her first season. Holden can play left-back or centre-back, however, her stature means she is less well suited to the central positions in mixed football. This season, with more first team football under her belt, she has been handed a starting berth in Grant Nean's U-21 squad.

CB. Gareth Souter, Image Sporting Cenial, 20 Height: 188cm. Weight: 79kg
Souter has been part of the DBC squad for four cycles now, and is the last remaining starter from the win in the Equestrian States. The child prodigy centre-half already has four senior caps to his name, and is one of the top players in this current squad. Great with the ball at his feet, Souter is well known for his ability to play the ball out of danger.

CB. Ben Ross, Image Stvozhaboythuow, 21 Height: 188cm. Weight: 81kg (C)
Ben Ross is another graduate of the Handon United youth system, and has been long regarded as one of the nations top prospects. He has captained his country at U-15 and U-19 level and is a natural leader on the park. Ross should be a good centre half partner for Souter having worked together at United, and both being of a similar mould, they should compliment each other well. Ross has been awarded the captain's armband by new manager Grant Nean.

R/CM Caitlin L'Attue, Image D'Itille, 18 Height: 172cm. Weight: 60kg
L'Attue has featured heavily for the U-21s over the last couple of cycles, and already has a winners medal under her belt. She has been a massive hit at her club D'Itille, and the quick, cultured winger has attracted a lot of attention with some mature perfromances. A great footballing pedigree combined with a lot of first team football at a young age, means L'Attue is a force to be reckoned with.

CM Erin Braden, Image King's Park, 20 Height: 180cm. Weight: 67kg
With Both Kim Coultan and Jenny McDonald moving out if the age bracket, there was a need for someone to step up. Complete midfielder Erin Braden has been on top form since joining Kings Park at the start of the season, making the step up from the West Belker Picts. Braden has boundless energy, and is equally apt whether tracking back or joining in the attack.

ACM Boris Hunt, Image Laketown Rangers, 19 Height:193cm Weight:82kg
For a towering powerhouse of a player, Hunt is capable of the subtlest of touches. One of the stars of Schottia's academy programme, he is on a par with the likes of Chloe Rudden and Kim Coultan in terms of potential. Hunt should form a strong partnership with Braden, and can also contribute to the attack if he gets the chance going forward. Hunt is a fantastic midfielder, who has strength and composure far beyond his years, he takes no prisoners when he challenges for the ball.

LM/F. Chloe Rudden, Image North Laithland, 19 Height: 172cm. Weight: 60kg
Rudden is one of the standout names on this team sheet, and she will no doubt be an important player for Grant Nean here in Valanor. Having already made in impact with the senior squad, scoring at both the Cup of Harmony, and the Tyran Cup, others will be looking to her to deliver. Rudden is famous for her incredible pace, and her driving runs towards goal.

SS/ACM Akiko, Image Kelsey Merchants, 19 Height: 175cm. Weight: 63kg
With about as much substance as a breath of wind, and sometimes covering less distance than the goalkeeper, it is easy to see why Akiko has drawn her critics. That said, the teenager has been young player of the year in Port Christopher two years running. The Kelsy Merchants forward, while prone to some awesome blunders, is capable of fantastic close ball control, and is known for bending in some increadible 30-yard-strikes.

CF Lucy Curren Image Maximum Rovers, 19 Height: 177cm. Weight: 63kg
Curren is one of the top young female footballers in the Schottic game. She has played mixed football her entire career, and has scored for Schottia at youth level. Unlike a lot of the other women in this squad, she is more of a scrappy style of player. That said her scoring rate in for Lammerton City reserves was impressive; so much so, that it earned her a move to Maximum Rovers, who saw her potential.

Subs:

GK Anna Kurovski, Image Handon Eagles, 20. Height: 185cm. Weight: 73kg
The first female keeper to represent Schottia in mixed football, Kurovski is regarded the best in her position in the women's game in Schottia.

R/LB Oliver Scott, Image Marionville, 19. Height: 183cm. Weight: 75kg
Scott has recently forced his way into the starting eleven at SPL side Marionville. He is a steady player, who can play on either side of defence.

LB/LM Jan Ümann, Image Soessch, 18 Height:190cm Weight:82kg
The younger brother of senior cap, Till Ümann, Jan can play either left back of left midfield. While not at the same level of potential as his brother, he is a good young player with a bright future in the game.

CB Kevin Scougle, Image Handon United, 21. Height: 189cm. Weight: 73kg
Already commanding a starting position in the Handon United first team, Scougle has benefited from the sale of Souter and Ross who were ahead of him in the pecking order. He is very much like his conteporaries however, an athletic and technically gifted defender.

A/CM Johannas Ünterhausen, Image Real Chinchinhua, 16. Height: 183cm. Weight: 75kg
The youngest player in the current squad, beating his twin sister to the honour by fifteen minutes, Ünterhausen will be hoping to make an impact in Valanora. Although he was in the squad last year, his age limited him in terms of game time. The Real Chinchinhua midfielder has all the strength and skill to make it in the senior squad before long.

CM Billy Cross, Image Arsenal de Releinthi, 18. Height: 183cm. Weight: 75kg
Another player whom Handon United lost along the way, Cross has had a career full of ups and downs. After making the move to Campos Rovers in Gloriax, things turned sour when the league was dissolved. The gifted young playmaker is now in the Fleftic league, where he is trying to rebuild his career. However, it may take him time to recapture the form, which won him a place in the Rovers first team at 17.

CM Mark Deleuze, Image Regional Development side D, 18 Height: 176cm. Weight: 63kg
His Regional Development side made the headlines recently, as they topped their district league. A lot of the reason for the academy side's success has been this young man, who may very well feature heavily this tournament. With a professional attitude and a good technical ability, one would imagine that he will be a player right up Nean's street.

LM Jack Briers, ImageNew Belfast Warriors, 19. Height: 177cm. Weight: 70kg
Briers is a big fans' favourite with his club Warriors, but it has never really come off for him in the U-21s. He usually has to settle for a place on the bench, denying fans a chance to see his pace and direct running. Briers is in the unfortunate position of finding himself behind Rudden in the pecking order, as he is otherwise a solid young player.

RLCM Alan Pertson, ImagePort James Athletic, 19. Height: 180cm. Weight: 76kg
Another player who is yet to make an impact, Pertson has played in the Port James first team for the last two seasons. He can either play as a holding midfielder or can be deployed on either wing. Pertson is possibly one to watch this time round, having recently burst onto the scene in the SPL.

ACM Melanie Ünterhausen, Image Kelsy Merchants, 16. On loan from Image Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Height: 180cm. Weight: 71kg
Following her brother Johannas into the under-21s set-up, Ünterhausen is an prodigious young player. She is understudy to Akiko, both at club level, and here in the DBC squad. Quick, with an eye for goal, she can play up front or in the midfield.

CF. Ouissal Taha, Image New Dundee Star, 20 Height: 178cm. Weight: 69kg
Taha was the last season's top goal scorer in Schottia's Women's Super-League, playing for The West Coast Warriors. Her form won her a move to Christopheran side New Dundee Star where she has made an impact as a sub.

CF/RF John McCormack, Image Lammerton, 20 Height: 186cm. Weight: 79kg
John McCormack has been in the Lammerton first team for a few seasons now, and this call up is long over due. The striker, who can also play wide right, will be hoping he can take his chance and establish himself in the Schottia set-up.

CF Sarah Dennis Image Augustineopel Saints, 21 Height: 168cm. Weight: 61kg
She started her career with MPL side Cornellians, however things didn't really work out for the young striker, and she found herself languishing in the reserves. Following a move to Augustineopel Saints, Dennis was able to get some more game time, and has surprised a few people back home with a call-up to this squad.

Goalkeepers
Vicent Alcalde - 21 years old - Omitted from the roster at the last Di Bradini Cup, Alcalde will start here. Not as good of a shot-stopper as some others, Alcalde makes up for it with power in the air and a high soccer IQ
Marti Resso - 18 years old - Resso, at 6'5", is long-armed and athletic but (unsurprisingly, given that he's 18) he is a poor decision-maker
Rafael Girgo - 19 years old - Plays like his age, has the capacity to make acrobatic saves but also to royally screw up

Defenders
Left Backs
Octavio Virgili - 21 years old - Virgili is talented, yet somewhat polarizing. He is known for getting into spats with other players and coaches
Cecili Pallares - 20 years old - Solid at defense but unable to fulfill Duvale's expectations that fullbacks should bomb forward
Center Backs
Robert Rivello - 21 years old - The rock at the center of the defense, Rivello is a bit dirty, and is a menace for opposing strikers
Josep Belmont - 19 years old - Strong in the air and as speedy as any attacker
Felip Solana - 21 years old - Incredibly conservative, which Duvale likes, but perhaps too conservative. Never gets dribbled by, but gives attackers a lot of space
Joan Marines - 20 years old - A bit reckless in his challenges, get booked a lot despite not being incredibly dirty
Right Backs
Amerigo - 20 years old - A fantastic crosser of the ball that overlaps to make use of his crossing skill, Amerigo works hard to get back on defense but doesn't have much recovery speed
Abelard Fonda - 18 years old - At 18 years old, Fonda is very scrawny but also very dirty, and not fearing anybody

Midfielders
Left Wing
Adam Gasca - 17 years old - A shock NT'er, Gasca runs around seemingly in slow motion, but effectively
Pau Marqueque - 20 years old - One of San Llera's best offensive players, Marqueque is an excellent shooter and dribbler but doesn't always get back on defense
Central Midfield
Franc Sires - 21 years old - Sires plays like a veteran, and is a solid attacking midfielder with good vision and good passing
Enric Capella - 18 years old - Capella, a classic San Lleran defensive midfielder, is content to do any dirty work necessary
Angel Tornes - 21 years old - Occasionally selfish but undoubtedly an excellent dribbler and all-around offensive player
Conrad Sargo - 20 years old - Sargo plays as a defensive midfielder, but sometimes neglects to do his defensive duties in favor of venturing forward
Right Wing
Ignasi Cornella - 21 years old - Very showy dribbler, unquestionably talented but doesn't enjoy passing
Conrad Novello - 21 years old - Very versatile player who can play nearly any position but isn't great at any of them

Strikers
Bellemurillo - 21 years old - Incredibly speedy and smart with his speed (in terms of making clever runs) but not a fantastic finisher
Sergi Bosch - 20 years old - Complements Bellemurillo with his lack of athleticism but excellent finishing ability
Ricard Rossello - 17 years old - A shock call-up due to his age last Di Bradini Cup, Rossello is a goal-poaching striker who absolutely lit up the Youth League with SC Porta.
Miquel Pinedo - 20 years old - Pinedo is more of a number 10 than a number 9 as he is more adept at setting up goals than scoring them. Also regarded as a great locker room guy

"Hello, good afternoon, and welcome to this special sportnyheter.vu bulletin on the u-21s national football team. Ole van Jendrisen's role as u-21s boss is and has always been one focused on player development. The successes of the past might be weighing on his mind as something to emulate with this squad, but bringing the awareness and squad readiness of these players up to the standard required by the Terns is the number one priority. He brings a number of debutantes into this squad this time around, and it's time to see how this latest batch progresses."

GK
#1 - GK - Jakub Strom - Age 19 - Jan Mayen Islanders
#12 - GK - Maximilina Verkko - Age 20 - AFK Hans Island Pioneers
#13 - GK - Erik Bure - Age 21 - Novaya Sibir Reds
"With something of a dearth of talented young goalkeepers in the Federation at the moment, all three here have come into the squad without any first team Divisjon One experience. Clearly, this is something the teams in the league will have to address in the coming years, but until then the Chicks will have to make do with Strom, Verkko, and Bure. We don't know much about any of them, to be honest. It's almost as if van Jendrisen has simply gone down a list and selected three names off it. Ahem."

DEF
#2 - DR - Felix Keskitalo - Age 21 - Hospitaliers
#3 - DC - Magnus Barishnikov - Age 21 - FC Axel Heiburg - Vice-Captain
#4 - DC - Brage Fellenbaum - Age 19 - RSK Longyearbyen Town
#5 - DL - Ragnar Martinson - Age 21 - SC Kiel
#18 - DR - Anders Myre - Age 17 - Red Star Severny
#19 - DL - Geir Belotserkovsky - Age 17 - RSK Longyearbyen Town
#21 - DC - Maciej Espeseth - Age 21 - FC Axel Heiburg
#22 - DC - Robin Koutaniemi - Age 17 - SK Sturm Nuuk
#23 - DC - Vladimir Hove - Age 17 - SC Kiel
"Centre-backs and close friends Espeseth and Barishnikov make up the core of this squad's defence, with their years of experience together at the Haapa-Mechelin Academy giving the national team and Axel Heiburg hope for the future. Keskitalo and Martinson are more experienced hands, though Myre and Belotserkovsky are sitting waiting to prove themselves in the wings, and young centre-backs Koutaniemi and Hove have both given their respective clubs' managers selection dilemmas in the past despite their young age."

MID
#6 - DMC - Oscar Voss - Age 17 - SK Franz Josef City
#7 - AMC - Vitaliy Rasmussen - Age 21 - FC Solovetsky Monastery
#8 - MC - Casper Yavlinsky - Age 21 - SK Nasjonale Hauker
#14 - MC - Federico Aalto - Age 18 - SC Kiel
#15 - DMC - Andrej Vaaldimarsson - Age 17 - AC Aleutia Volcanoes
#16 - AMC - Sani Borzakovsky - Age 17 - East Franz Athletic
#17 - MC - Hallmar Melander - Age 21 - East Franz Athletic
"The biggest story in the midfield selection here is the presence of Oscar Voss in the number six shirt. Despite older selections available, van Jendrisen has gone for Voss and Vaaldimarsson as his defensive midfielders. Voss has a lot of competition at SK to make it into the first squad, but word is he has all the talent to do so. I guess now is as good a time as any to find out. Another youngster already proving himself in the top flight is Federico Aalto, and he should be around for years to come by the looks of it."

ATT
#9 - ST - Erik Zhamaletdinov - Age 21 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls - CAPTAIN
#10 - ST - Eyvindur Zelic - Age 17 - FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla
#11 - ST - Dagbjartur Niemi - Age 21 - Marylebone Invicta (TFI)
#20 - ST - Loic Pedersen - Age 20 - SK Sturm Nuuk
"Erik Zhamaletdinov is the only survivor of the last DBC squad, and he is perhaps the first classic 'big-man' striker to make it this far in the national squad since Patrick Ackermann-Finn. I mean, he hasn't got a cap for the Terns yet, but he surely will. Accompanying him up front is pint-size box of tricks Eyvindur Zelic, whilst Dagbjartur Niemi's swapping off Divisjon One for the MVP doesn't seem to have harmed his DBC chances as many had predicted it would."

Probable Starting formation: 3-3-2-2
------------------------------------ Strom -----------------------------------
---------------- Barishnikov -- Fellenbaum -- Espeseth ------------------
---- Keskitalo -------------------- Voss -------------------- Martinson ----
----------------- Rasmussen ------------------- Aalto ----------------------
----------------------- Zhamaletdinov --- Zelic ----------------------------

Kits kindly manufactured by VUCTI Kits

New manager Devane Claro replaces the outgoing duo Adren Christiansen-Hallensburg and Morten Poulsen, who will both take on coaching roles over at Krsthaven, and to many’s surprise, he has not selected his 17 year old twin sons, the highly rated Rene and Reiss just yet. It’s a rather inexperienced side though, with only six having appeared in a previous tournament. It’s an exciting one though, and we’re looking forward to see what Claro can do with the team.

STAFF:
Manager: Devane Claro, 45
Assistant manager: Andreas Devon, 42
First team coach: Rune Lindholm, 37
First team coach: Adetunji Adenuga, 34
Tactical coach: Mikkel Eriksen, 39
Goalkeeping coach: Lamar St Etienne, 27
Defensive coach: Mark Berg, 40
Attacking coach: Javan Palmer, 28

Performance analyst: Marcel Sako, 37
Fitness coach: Mikkel Lindholm, 31
Head physio: Amoah Nti, 38
Physio: Max den Karl, 31
Physio: Knut Finnmelksson, 32
Doctor: Matthias Wells, 37
Doctor: Jurg Brandstrom, 37
Lead scout: Jorgen Lindisfarne, 36
Domestic scout: Richmond Annan, 31
Domestic scout: Jonathan Silke, 41
International scout: Kris Jonstadt, 32
International scout: Max Larsen, 25
Scout: Jon Lindstrom, 32
Scout: Mahamadou Keita, 38
Culinary manager: Mats Lindesfarne, 41
Kitman: Johannes Luxstrom, 34
Kitman: Torsten Sundstrom, 32
Photographer: Thorsten Melksen, 42
SFA Liaison Officer: Par den Nicklas, 37

GOALKEEPERS:
#1 – GK – Jakob Lindegaard – Age 19 – Vaduz Portcullis (NGL)
#12 – GK – Bacary Johansson – Age 21 – Sporting Solsholm
#22 – GK – Soren Redholm – Age 21 – Eikborg Club
Only Lindegaard remains from the previous edition, and a move to New Gelderland side Vaduz Portcullis should see him gain regular first team football as he looks to break into the national side. Bacary Johansson of Sporting Solsholm was excellent all season for them despite playing in the second division, and Soren Redholm gains a long-deserved callup to the national sides after a recent switch to Eikborg Club, where he’ll provide completion for Ael Koron and Eider Castilla of Ceni and San Jose Guayabal respectively.

DEFENDERS:
#2 – DR – Aaqeq Yleqtiik – Age 18 – Gran Faro 70 (FFD)
#3 – DL – Martin Eriksen – Age 20 – New Oxford Nucleus (CEN)
#4 – DC – Soren Boateng – Age 18 – Northbrook Diamonds FK (PIS)
#5 – DC – Soren Sinde – Age 18 – FC Nuholm
#19 – DL – Christian Parr – Age 20 – FC Jansberg
#21 – DR – Devane Annan – Age 21 - Krsthaven
#23 – DC – Yohannes Simeone – Age 20 – Fransborg set Njilkaer
Claro has called up former Matovallanen centre-back Soren Boateng who recently signed for Polarian giants Northbrook Diamonds, managed by the legendary Tern himself Niko Marek. Aaqeq Yleqtiik, who travelled last edition, is also in the squad having sealed a switch to Gran Faro 70 of Farfadillis, and Martin Eriksen who was with the senior team at the most recent AOCAF should start at left back. The other likely starter in defence will be FC Nuholm’s Soren Sinde, who looks to succeed Martell Chalobah in the role of “promising academy centre-back.” FC Jansberg’s Christian Parr, who goes in with a slight injury, the pacy Krsthaven wing-back Devane Annan and Yannick Simeone’s little brother Yohannes are the other three in the squad.

MIDFIELDERS:
#6 – DMC – Emmanuel Sambu – Age 18 – FC Jansberg
#7 – MC – Marc Lindstrom – Age 18 – Kangemark Sport
#8 – AMC – Deon Barringham – Age 20 – Arkrau Klub
#14 – MC – Jonjo Jacobsen – Age 18 - Krsthaven
#15 – DMC – Ntumba Addai – Age 17 – Eikborg Club
#16 – AMC – Martin Sondersen – Age 21 – Arkrau Klub
#17 – ML – Dominick M’Bia – Age 18 – Hastmead Diamante (OSR)
#21 – MR – Amoah Boakye-Nzanzu – Age 18 – FC Kolberg
No nonsense defensive midfielder Emmanuel Sambu, also part of Andreas Jansen’s recent AOCAF squad, actually will make his competitive U21 debut after never appearing in a previous Di Bradini cup. In fact, none of these have before, making it a rather young lineup except for two attacking midfielders, Arkrau duo Deon Barringham and Martin Sondersen, 20 and 21 respectively. Central midfielder Marc Lindstrom is tipped to break into the national team at some point too, and winger Dominick M’Bia earned a move to Osarian side Hastmead Diamante.

STRIKERS:
#9 – ST – Per Mtiliga – Age 19 – Dynapolis United (OSR) (On loan from FC Jansberg)
#10 – ST – Abadayu Abwelange – Age 21 – FC Nuholm
#11 – ST – Innocent Kone – Age 16 – FC Jansberg
#20 – ST – ThankGod Anyamele – Age 16 – FC Jansberg
Claro has gone for both ends of the spectrum with two experienced strikers in Per Mtiliga, spending the season on loan at Osarian side Dynapolis United and FC Nuholm’s Abadayu Abwelange, previously of FC Kolberg and recent Di Bradini squads, and FC Jansberg first-year scholars Innocent Kone and ThankGod Anyamele, both another highly rated pair to come out of that academy.

SPORTERNAV PRESENTS: THE NORDIQUES
Image

Southern Armeia is back on the footballing stage. We shocked the world when we finished third in the U-18 Sporting World Cup, taking out higher ranked teams Schottia and Banija on the way and defeating Lutine in the third place match. Now the core of that team returns, including hotheaded goalkeeper Isa Tangemen, star center fielder Draga Schraeder, and highlight reel midfielder Denzel Falk. While Armeian teams are usually mostly male, this team is a bit different in that it's dominated by females, mainly because in our leagues, females begin playing pro earlier than males, who typically play for an academy/reserve team when they're young.

Image
The formation that Brandon Tjaeder is going with for the tournament opener.

STARTING ELEVEN
GOALKEEPER - 19 year old Isa Tangemen edges out 17 year old Augustus Lenz, who's returning from a torn ACL. Lenz started last year but with his injury, Tangemen proved her worth despite being despised by the two center backs because of her vocal style of leadership. Now she's more liked, except for by ex vice captain Katarina Dana Bonner and midfielder Lenart Ross... But that's another story entirely.

LEFT BACK - Most famous for attempting to take her own life by overdosing after giving up the penalty that sent Armeia home, Valeriane Carin somehow managed to recover and sign a one year contract with Lionesses. Too big of a talent for the women's side from the Redtown, she's expected to go elsewhere after the tournament. Eighteen years old now.

CENTER BACK - The infamous yet loved center back from the U-18 team returns. 19 year old Gregor Borg is one of the brightest youth players at Atlas and now he returns to his national team spot. A top physical prospect, he's a good stopper and marker even though he fouls too much.

CENTER BACK - Next to Borg is one of his best friends, Marc-Andre Zupan. 19, Zupan plays abroad in Kirishima and is great at marking, known for his ability to lock on to a player and totally shut them down. He left Atlas for eight million dollars before the start of the season.

RIGHT BACK - Less here for marking and more for his skill with assisting goals, seventeen year old Boom Redman wanted to play winger but this was the only way he could find his way into the squad. He can outrun anybody on this team, including Denzel Falk, and he's quite knowledgeable tactically. Signed for Sporting Center City one month ago, expected to lead the new ownership's process in turning the team around.

ADVANCED PLAYMAKER - Denzel Falk is back in the squad from the U-18 World Cup, after a great performance where he led the team in assists. His performance helped him sign for Dor Frio, and now he may compete for a captain spot now that he's older and wiser at 18 years of age.

HOLDING MIDFIELDER - Don't let his 5'9 height and lack of high speed fool you. Lenart Ross is incredibly dangerous on the offensive side of the game. He lurks around looking for the ball and when he gets it, he always seems to know who to pass it to for an assist. Recently turning 18, he's trying to go for a bigger role on the team.

ATTACKING MIDFIELDER - This one is a tossup. Hawks United youth star Tyra Halloway gets the start, but her former teammate Samantha Leroux is also trying to compete for this spot. Halloway is 19 and Leroux is twenty, and both were part of the 'Big Three' youth class with Reina Toure, however Leroux suffered a series of concussions and was never the same until recently when she had a resurgence.

LEFT WINGER - AFC Center City goalkeeper/winger Pandora Reimfeller gets to start here. 19, she played at at very high level for Vandals at the second half of the season, but she 'accidentally' signed for AFC CC when she was highly drunk in a bar. Her alcoholism may cost her a place in the starting eleven later on.

RIGHT WINGER - The 19 year old sister of senior team and R.C Lions star Milan Toure, Reina Toure is playing angry after being transferred to AFC CC against her will by her old squad, Hawks United. So skillful that she reportedly sprained Tyra Halloway's ankle in training with an elastico last season, Toure may be one of the best youth prospects to play in the women's league in Armeia.

CENTER FIELDER - Completing the strikerless formation is 16 year old Draga Schraeder, who's playing her usual position, false nine. A poacher by heart, Schraeder can steal possession and put goals in from the edge of the box with high shot power and good accuracy. Her twin, Bianka, also plays for the team. She signed for Olympique Imguem this season, along with her boyfriend Marc-Andre Zupan.

RESERVES

GK - Augustus Lenz, 17, played incredibly for R.C Lions in the second half of their back to back title campaign but he tore his ACL in a fight with teammate Irene Dreschler during the Sporting World Cup. He then lost his spot as a starter, his girlfriend, and possibly his role with Lions, now he's fighting to get back in the starting XI.

CB - Leonne Warner, an eighteen year old from the SWC squad. Moving to CB in hopes of playing more.

WB/CB - Viktor Holzer, a 16 year old also from that squad. Didn't play much but shows promise with Kyang, worth calling up.

CAM/W - Samantha Leroux, who was one of the most anticipated youth prospects before taking a knee to the head and becoming amnesiac for a short time before being cut from Hawks United. She went to the Cora City Jokers of the street league and made a comeback, being named the league MVP last year at 20 years of age.

W - Katarina Dana Bonner, the ex vice captain. Eighteen, her breakup with Isa Tangemen caused a sharp decline in her career, and she lost her spot as vice captain. A dispute between her and Tangemen caused Tangemen to be shunned by the rest of the team during the Sporting World Cup, now the tables have been turned, and there's only a couple players who will even speak to Katarina off the pitch now.

W - Joseph Sven Martin, from Bastille FC. Eighteen and looking to beat out Pandora Reimfeller to play on the wing.

ST - The only true striker on the team is Bianka Schraeder. Draga Schraeder's identical twin, Bianka is two minutes younger. Plays for AC Kawajiri in Kirishima, and she used to date Augustus Lenz before she began dating goalkeeper Isa Tangemen.

STAFF

MANAGER - Brandon Tjaeder, the ex Hawks United manager. Now he's at Southeastern, but he gained infamy throughout the league when he impregnated star striker Kameron Hamsik, causing her to miss the early weeks of the season and maybe costing Hawks the title. A tactical genius who was the assistant of the U-18 team, this is his first time managing a national team.

ASSISTANT - Mara Fuller, the 30 year old Vandals goalkeeper. Her career has taken a very sharp decline and she's looking for management jobs already, starting here. Some say she's been brought in to help Augustus Lenz, others say she's here to babysit her former teammate Pandora Reimfeller.

After undesirable results in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers, La Selecta decided to start a reengineering in its game system, after proving that a good defence is not something from other planet, receiving fifteen goals in fourteen matches during the World Cup 71, a new slightly defensive system was established in the team, featuring for the first time a line of three midfielders, trying to block the highest number of possibilities of the rival team, also including a rookie into the team like Schwidrowski is having his first experience as the goalkeeper of the Starting XI, with one midfielder who can have a rol of defence like Mikkelsen, this team is probably a quite defensive version of La Selecta. A key aspect that changes a bit from the other lineups used throughout the history, is the use of three strikers instead, in order to keep the offensive capacity that has characterized the football of the National Team and maybe the bastion of the whole Guayabalense football.

There are three words to describe the game style of La Selecta being that: efficience, speed and withe, something that makes the team look solid at any time, no matter the game but it is a team that rarely gives up, even if the conditions are totally against, the team tries to score early, to score the highest amount of goals and going decidedly to the front in order to score, to fight with courage every ball and also having a high esteem and sense of unity as a team.

Game style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. In this guide basic data information that will help the tourist (Regardless of nationality, sex, species, religion, etc.) to have a pleasant stay in San José Guayabal, with phrases and tips that will be much useful.

History

Originally, San José Guayabal was inhabited by a tribe from the South Pole, which has been called "Eskimos" and which our country still live to this day, beginning more than 2,600 years before Christ. Eskimos settled in small communities on the shores of the south coast of the nation, developing solitarily without contact with most members of his ethnic group or the like. The economy was based on hunting and selling bearskins for the winter season, or the planting and harvesting of grapes or apples during the spring time. The system of government was nonexistent and remained so for a long time, where the Eskimos were the majority before a new ethnic group in the center of the country, which was the group of "Wára-Wára" who ended up being called "Native Guayabalenses.”

Many centuries later, the picture did not change in ethnic background, because the Eskimos maintained a social domain but now much more informed through a central government called "Naalakkersueriaaseq" or simply "Naala", consisting of a governor who tended to meet the role of chief and spiritual guide of the nation. Note that abandoned their nomadic practices and decided to establish around the "Great Lake" now called "Metropolitan Lake", about 230 km from what is now San Salvador, the capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Northern regions which, specifically from Andarica, we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country with the valorous mission of Explorer Luis Barbosa (Who’s considered as founder of the nation) and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, the isolated Eskimos decided to merge into a new society, full of opportunities for everybody. And that hasn’t stopped yet, because more groups came to stay in our nation, coming from the north the Finns, Swedes, Russians and Anglo-Saxons, creating a multicultural society in a big nation, who had a strong sense of unity and brotherhood since the early beginning despite the racial differences.

In the last 200 years, San José Guayabal has suffered drastic changes into his history and social system, being caused by political reasons, who led to three civil wars (1989, 2024, 2047) where the main factor was the wish of liberty and prosperity from a diverse but united nation with strong wishes of success in international issues as business, industries and more specially peace and freedom.

Today, San José Guayabal is a nation that is rising from the ruins by leaps and bounds after the most recent and devastating civil war that put a stop to the tyrannical communist regime of then President Miguel Serrano. In an industry dominated by petroleum and energy resources such as shale or subtraction of natural gas in conjunction with a strong and increasingly thriving tourism industry and micro technology based economy (Chips, micro-chips, etc.) are transforming the nation into what people have dreamed of, a country of advanced its breakthrough in the future and seek to overcome adversity to become more powerful and provide a better standard of life for its inhabitants.

Geography, Climate and another natural phenomena

San José Guayabal is a continental nation, located in the continent of Inferiore Minore, Esportiva. Having a great number of surrounding islands, an 85% of The Antartic Territory, doing a great combination of climate geographical features.
The continental area is very irregular, mountainous and extremely volcanic relief, being mountainous in the west, south-central, north-central and eastern containing long plains and steppes in the central area (also called "The Heart") of the nation, The Alpine Belt also called "Cordillera Del Fuego" runs from the border with Estope and Wednesday Evening in the far west to the border with Gregoryisgodistan in the east, forming a branch towards the south coast of the nation. The eruptions are less frequent in recent years, the last eruption was 12 years ago and the possibilities of a new eruption event occur is very minimal. This has generated an abundance of rocky material from the process of cooling of the lava, a very popular material used for gardens, decoration or houses.

Notable exceptions to the mountainous terrain of San José Guayabal are the Central Valley and the Northern Steppe. El Valle is a flat land that does not exceed 600 meters above sea level and extends over much of the Lempa River; the soil is very fertile for growing grain and other agricultural products such as corn, beans, and sugarcane, and also is home of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the entire region of Esportiva.

The North Steppe is the most arid area of the territory, dominated by its large sand dunes, this region has very little rainfall throughout the year and extreme weather in the summer, easily exceeding 42°C at noon and decreasing the 9°C at the night, fauna it’s minimal there except for scorpions and some lizards.

The climate of San Jose Guayabal is generally quite predictable because there are four distinct seasons being these winter (June 21 to September 20), spring (September 21 to December 20), summer (December 21 to March 20) and the autumn (March 21-June 20) while in Rossana (overseas colony) the condition is different because of its location in the northern hemisphere being the winter between December and March, spring between April and June, the summer between July and September while autumn is from October to December. It's very rare to see a non-corresponding to the station in our country climate, with stable climates for each season and very few flaws in the service of climate information in the news and newspapers because the control systems of the climate and the almost obvious weather patterns.

In terms of natural phenomena we can find three, the most catastrophic ones are the earthquakes, a very common event in the nation due to its volcanic activity and its location between two major tectonic plates, the Southern Plate and the Inferiore Plate. This makes our nation quite prone to seismic events place but do not panic. The nation has high construction standards regarding the prevention of seismic events and is mandatory that each building has evacuation plans which are placed in visible to make easier the evacuation besides making evacuation drills at least two times for year. Note that at least 45% of citizens are people trained to provide first aid, this being part of the given requirements to complete the Students’ Social Service, required for the graduation of students in the education system.

We now turn to other less lethal phenomena, as are the aurora australis and the migration of geese, spectacular events that attracts lots of people. The aurora australis is a phenomenon that occurs mainly from March to September, while maintaining an appropriate intensity to be seen until the end of December, usually can be seen throughout the country, including northern areas like El Roblar or Metapán. The migrating of geese occur during September to December, from the Central Valley region they move to the South Pole, then head north of Esportiva. These spectacles often bring many people to be witnessed, because they have an enormous facility to witness each of these phenomena.

Travel

Visiting San José Guayabal is not a very complicated process, as the provisions of international travel are applied for each foreign visitor. International flights usually land at three airports, one for each egion of the country, being the El Roblar International Airport designated to the west, Luis Barbosa Airport in Vladivostok for the central region and San Salvador International Airport to the east, the latter being the most important because of its location in the capital.

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

From the beginning of time to the Eskimos, prevailed a kind of shamanism mixed with pagan rites in honor of the earth, moon and sun, entities of great importance to the Eskimos because of their dependence on agriculture and sun for planting and harvest of food and other goods for storage in the winter, which was worshiped by the moon and snow, who deserved rest and relaxation afforded to the Eskimos that time.

This Eskimo tradition of worshiping natural phenomena remained for more than 2500 years until the arrival of Spanish colonizers, who spread a new faith, Christianity in an easy way and without shedding innocent blood by religion. The Guayabalenses have been very receptive to the religion without falling into religious fundamentalism and fanaticism, this being a meeting point of unity and for society.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and Protestantism dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Today the trend remains solid, the population is even more liberal than before in terms of tolerance creeds, admitting any theological thinking according to the Constitution of the Republic, severely condemning any act of censorship of religious expression or fundamentalism religious. Notably, church attendance has been increasing in the last seven years, bringing together a large part of the population; the missions of the churches typically perform community works across the nation or even international level people who need it most.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Food & Etiquette

Food in San Jose Guayabal is very diverse, varying due to the presence of different ethnic groups that have imported your culinary culture to our nation, varying by region, but yes there are dishes that are distinguished from others if we talk about popularity nationwide.

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course, where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their plate, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Football in San José Guayabal is the sport that moves the masses, on any day and at any time of day is normal to see children playing football in the streets of residential areas or football academies, the Community youth playing football in tournaments, or at academies of professional or semi professional teams, adults meet after the workday with peers and then perform matches, as distraction from work stress and also the elderly and women, who do not hesitate to leave their detention work in order to enjoy the football. Through this we can deduce that as people get involved in football in an active way, so is his passion.

The passion for football is very excessive in our nation, for some it is cultural issue of pride support their team and others, is literally his own "religion" if you are so want to call, many fans to stadiums are directed to support his team in an almost unique way, the hostility in the atmosphere and tension is very high, the songs of hate towards the opponent and vice versa are very frequent flares, pyrotechnics, giant banners to support the team, hypes, trumpets and other musical instruments give much color to the bars organized teams or selection, popularly known as "Barras Bravas" are very common, but accidents between the fans are very rare.

Discuss and be contrary to any guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of 1,000 crowns (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra”), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - MIXED

This will be the fourth time that Abanhfleft will be participating in the Di Bradini Cup. With most of the initial batch of starters from Abanhfleft's inaugural Di Bradini campaign now graduating up to the senior teams, the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft (SFA) has decided to call up a new batch of players composed of those players in the original squad still eligible to play for the under-21s, as well as some new talent and players from the under-18s that led Abanhfleft to second place in the Sporting World Cup in the Free Republics. Celerino delos Reyes is still the manager of the U21s, but he has now acquired some capable assistants in the form of Rashidunnin Ali, who is now both assistant and goalkeeping coach to delos Reyes, and Owen Bevan, who manages the under-18s. A lot of the squad's regulars, including the formidable attacking trio of Rory Edwards, Yoshinobu Mori and Karen Villegas have already missed out on the chance to win the cup due to organizational difficulties in the last Di Bradini Cup, which was also the last cup in which they were eligible. But many Fleftics hope that the new generation of under-21s will finally lead the Democratic Republic to a major football title.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 4-3-1-2 (This will be standard unless I change it through RPs)
Head coach: Celerino delos Reyes (58 y/o, Philippines)

STARTERS
GK: Ursula Qatintiki 19 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies FC Image, female
Qatintiki is a ferocious keeper who believes herself to be a good sweeper but unfortunately doesn't have all the necessary skills to be an actual sweeper keeper. Fortunately for her, she's managed to keep 10 clean sheets in the Premier Development League (Ladies' Division) for Sarvusdalamoive Ladies. Unfortunately for her, this performance hasn't carried to her first international call-up in the Sporting World Cup, where she conceded a total of 14 goals in the tournament. But the presence of an experienced back four in front of her could help her concede less in this tournament. Qatintiki has signed a five-year contract with Sarvusdalamoive but is rumored to be on the way to a season-long loan with an undisclosed club.

RB: Melisizwe Afolayan 20 y/o, Rodrigues FC Image, male
Afolayan is a no-nonsense defender that doesn't take being skilled around by the opponent lightly. If the opponents begins skilling his/her way around Afolayan then he will just stick out a leg and trip over the opponent, which has led to a disciplinary record filled with yellow cards and the occasional red card. The Rodrigues management claims that Afolayan has the potential to be a wing-back due to his high offensive workrate, but only time will tell if this will become true.

RCB: Kristin Pittmann 21 y/o, Fleftic Army Image, female
Pittmann has been a member of both the under-21s and the Fleftic Army football team for four years now and has proven to be an absolute wall in defense. She is often the first player back in her own half when the opponent begins attacking, and will gladly go in for the tackle and even conceding the penalty if it means a sure chance of stopping an opponent through on goal. Pittmann has stated her commitment with the Fleftic Army and is therefore unavailable for transfer (not that Army and Air Force buy or sell players).

LCB: Ainsley Gibson 18 y/o, Submarine Yeralenko Image, male, captain
Gibson has large shoes to fill in following the graduation of Rory Edwards to the senior team and Celerino delos Reyes' decision to give the captain's armband to Gibson. Perhaps delos Reyes would have been better off if he had given the armband to Cedric Pearson or Joe Warren, but after Gibson's commanding performance as captain of the under-18s, Owen Bevan would have none of it. Gibson is a speedy center-back, which serves as the perfect foil to Kristin Pittmann's rock-solid presence on the pitch.

LB: Lemuel Fuller 19 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image, male
The pure left-back provided excellent cover for Ainsley Gibson when the latter was injured in the semifinals of the Sporting World Cup, but playing out of position in the final made him uncomfortable and was probably one of the many factors leading to the 5-2 loss against Semarland in the final. But now that he is back in his favored and natural position, Fuller will look to tear up any attacks coming his way.

RDM: Cedric Pearson 21 y/o, Bananas FC Image, male
One of the four remaining starters of the original Fleftic Di Bradini squad, Pearson used to be one of the more questionable choices in the starting eleven back when the under-21s first competed in international football, but with age and experience he is starting to prove his doubters wrong, but with a history of being injury-prone Pearson hasn't been able to show good performances for an entire season. His presence will help lock up the midfield, but if he gets injured the Fleftic right side will prove vulnerable.

CDM: Joe Warren 21 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Image, male
The second of four remaining members of Abanhfleft's original Di Bradini squad, Warren is just beginning to come into his own as a reputable defensive midfielder. Xemlice Rovers have high hopes of Warren improving even more in the coming Premier League season, having been called up to the first team after injuries took out Xemlice's players in that position (think Francis Coquelin for Arsenal last RL season). Warren does need work on his technical abilities, and he has a tendency to join the attack and leave behind gaps in the Fleftic defense, but his fellow defensive mids can cover up for those.

LDM: Sarita Cairo 21 y/o, Wabash River Ladies Image, female
The third player from the original Di Bradini squad and the only female aside from Kristin Pittmann still playing for the under-21s, Cairo currently plays as a defensive midfielder, but Celerino delos Reyes has hopes of turning her into a proper central midfielder due to her balanced offensive and defensive work rates. Cairo has turned in good performances for both Abanhfleft and Wabash, but when she's out of form, it really shows on the rest of the team's performance. However, it's not something that a few equally good teammates couldn't fix.

CAM: Mabel Finnemark 19 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image, female
Finnemark broke into the Fleftic national team setup following her great performances during the Sporting World Cup which led to the Fleftic sporting media calling her "the next Allison Torres" and "the female Rory Edwards" due to her performances as central attacking midfielder for the Fleftics. Like many Fleftic CAMs, most attacks are routed through Finnemark on their way to either forward, but sometimes she can also play a false 9 by wreaking havoc on the opponents' back line and scoring goals, just like a lot of Fleftic natural CAMs. There is no way but up for Finnemark, but sometimes her success gets into her head and she may need to be taken down a notch. Or two.

RS: Kareem Dagen 17 y/o, Eikborg Club Image, male
Dagen can be described as the breakout player of the Sporting World Cup, scoring 10 goals and leading Abanhfleft to second place in the aforementioned tournament. His amazing performance as a striker led to his signing by Eikborg Club, a Semarlandish club competing in the Globe Cup, making him the first ever Fleftic player to sign for a foreign league other than Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum. Dagen's quality performance in the Sporting World Cup also earned him a starting spot in the Fleftic under-21s, over the likes of Garrett Krantz and Irina Babarushchik.

LS: Zsofia Dolan 21 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image, female
Dolan has barely started in any games for the under-21s, serving as understudy to the now-promoted Karen Villegas and coming on only as a substitute in games where Abanhfleft were winning by a huge margin. But sometimes, when the team needs an absolutely vital goal to rescue their hopes and dreams, Dolan will step up and net that vital goal ninety percent of the time. And now that she is finally commanding a starting spot and playing alongside the highly touted Kareem Dagen, Dolan will look to finally be the girl that wins Abanhfleft the trophy. The staff hope that all this potential will not get into her head and turn her into a "problem player."

RESERVES (All players are members of their league team's youth squads unless otherwise noted)
GK: Orestes Katsouranis III 17 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Image, male
The son of Marinos Thimpodopoulos manager Orestes Katsouranis Jr., Orestes III's inclusion into both the Marinos and Fleftic under-21s squad may seem like nepotism, but his shining performances for the Marinos U-21s in the Professional Development League (Men's Division) (keeping fifteen clean sheets on the way to a second-place finish in the league have proven that he has what it takes to represent the Democratic Republic. But whether he can displace Ursula Qatintiki in between the sticks is still up to debate.

GK: Brook Arzate 15 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Image, male
Yet another Marinos player carried over from the under-18 squad, Arzate has barely played any games, both for his club and his country, and his chances of starting in this tournament are equally slim. However, this is a good opportunity for him to learn international quality football, so it's not all lose-lose for him.

DF: Terri Hartin 18 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image, female
Hartin will serve as backup to Melisizwe Afolayan, but unless an injury forces him to miss out the rest of the tournament, Hartin's chances of starting are very, very slim. But she understands that she will have to fight for her place, even if Afolayan has only one year remaining with the under-21s.

DF: Catarina Soler 21 y/o, Fleftic Air Force (first team) Image, female
Soler has served as a dependable supporting unit for both center-backs, but once again she is a player that is played out of position in most international games that she gets to play. Soler prefers being a true center-back, but that doesn't mean that she shirks from the responsibilities of being a central fullback shifted a little to the right or the left. This is also her last chance to win some silverware before going up to the senior team, so she will fight for a position as best as she can.

DF: Colleen Adams 17 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Ladies Image, female
The first and perhaps only "true unknown" in the current squad, this is the first time that Adams has been called up to represent Abanhfleft, and whether she will get to represent the blue, orange and green in this Di Bradini Cup still remains to be seen.

MF: DeAngelo Levin 18 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image, male
Nothing much was seen of Levin during the Sporting World Cup, and nothing much more will probably be seen of him in this tournament. Unless, of course, if he turns in such a game-changing performance that Celerino delos Reyes will have no choice but to start him.

MF: Luĉjo Miĥaelo Kleinmann 17 y/o, Malabon SC (first team) Image, male, vice-captain
Kleinmann impressed once again for Abanhfleft during the Sporting World Cup, stepping into the captain's role for the final in place of the injured Ainsley Gibson. Many people will say that Kleinmann should have received both the captain's armband and a starting spot in this current U-21 lineup, but Celerino delos Reyes believes he is still a little bit too young to play consistently in the under-21 level. Not that that had stopped the Filipino from fielding another 17-year-old in Kareem Dagen. Make of it what you will.

MF: Timothy Parcell 20 y/o, Riuwiee United Image, male
Parcell did not start or play a single game for Abanhfleft since being named to the squad, and he also hasn't played a single game for Riuwiee United's under-21s since he was 16. One has to wonder about his role in the team. Celerino delos Reyes must see something in Parcell to merit calling him up to represent the Democratic Republic, but unless delos Reyes gives Parcell some time on the pitch, no one else will know what that particular quality is.

MF: Marietta Toksvig 18 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Many questioned Toksvig's addition to the squad starting from the ill-fated Di Bradini 34 campaign, but once she hit the ground running in the Sporting World Cup, she has certainly proved her worth, both to Celerino delos Reyes and to Godric Wexler. Rumors are that she will get a number of games as a substitute and, depending on Abanhfleft's situation in the tournament, could even get a start or two.

AT: Garrett Krantz 20 y/o, Paulsen FC (first team) Image, male
When you're the starting forward of a team that's constantly bouncing between your country's top two leagues, then something is either right or wrong about you. Unfortunately for Krantz, no one has really managed to work out what exactly is up with him, and as Paulsen suffers yet another relegation from the Premier League, Krantz will have to work hard to keep his spot in the Fleftic under-21s, especially now that Irina Babarushchik and Annamarie Sabado are breathing down on his neck.

AT: Annamarie Sabado 16 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Sabado has the makings of being "the next Fleftic super-sub." No less a footballing authority than Arsenal de Releinthi manager Godric Wexler said so after Sabado had scored the game-winning goal against Lutine to give Abanhfleft a ticket to the Sporting World Cup final. And, judging from her inclusion into the under-21 squad by Celerino delos Reyes, the Filipino might be looking to do the same, this time in the Di Bradini Cup.

AT: Irina Babarushchik 20 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Babarushchik is already in (friendly) competition with Annamarie Sabado for the position of Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies U-21s' starting striker, and this competition will see itself brought over to Valanora and the Di Bradini Cup.

Fluviquean U-21 National Football team

Image

For the first experience in a international Cup, the Fluviquean Federation trusted in Martin Comezzi, former forward of the national squad. All the staff is young and acquiring experience, like the players. The coaches and the supporters expect with enthusiasm the opportunity to watch their young players in the international fields.

The team has the natural characteristics of the Fluviquean player: skill and fight. But, despite the strong defenders, the new players enjoy touching the ball, passing, dribbling, have the possession and fair play. All the journalists hope that the boys can play with more spontaneity and joy, leaving behind the pressures of the crazy fans on their clubs, singing for a victory every sunday.

Squad list:

-GK (4)

#1: Thomas Morris -Age 20- Betham FC
#12: Bautista Brown -Age 19- Betham FC
#23: Alex Gates -Age 19- Saint Matthew FC

The goalkeepers count more than 20 matches in the Fluviquean First Division and in the League Cup but, the fact that they play for two of the biggest clubs in the country, made every match an invaluable experience.

-Denfenders- (8)

#2: Dennis Castanginnet -Age 19- Betham FC
#3: Julien Kaleshko -Age 20- FC Aztus
#6: Leander Smith -Age 19- Fluviqueans Juniors
#13: Emilien Boundary -Age 19- Mevosa FC
#16: Martin Del Pino -Age 20- Defenseurs FC
#17: Cameron Morgan -Age 18- Sportif
#21: David Cabrera -Age 19- Sportif
#22: Juan Martin Benchamp -Age 19- Geneva Juniors

Dennis Castanginnet and Julien Kaleshko are an extraordinary couple of central defenders. Both appeared in their teams and quickly became part of the first team and played a lot of matches in the league. Leander Smith and Cameron Morgan has better skills attacking, but they respect the orders on defence, despite their problems with fouls and yellow cards.

-Midfielders (7)

#5: Ted Apparicio -Age 19- Mevosa FC
#7: Ben Trills -Age 20- Geneva Central
#8: Ryan Koll -Age 20- Betham FC
#10: Ricky Bertens -Age 20- Aztus FC
#14: Tyler Lafayette -Age 20- Betham FC
#15: Samuel McRuff -Age 20- Athletic
#19: Roger Worth -Age 19- Saint Matthew

The power of the team is here. Ted Apparicio, with only 19 years old, became part of the first team of Mevosa FC and a central key. Gets the ball and makes the first pass in every attack. Ben Trills and Ryan Koll are the faster of the team, with the capacity of leaving all their rivals behind with only a movement of their hips. Their specialities are centring and long shots.

Also the figure is Ricky Bertens. The 20 years old and extremely talented from Aztus is the captain of his club and part of the senior team. Is one of the scores of the league and assistance leader. Is the hope of all Fluvique.

-Fowards (4)

#9: Bernard Pullian -Age 20- Mevosa FC
#11: John Young -Age 20- Athletic
#18: Bob Duncan -Age 19- Betham FC
#20: Pierre Williams -Age 20- Aztus FC

The forwards know each other very well, but no precisely for their friendship. They play in Mevosa CF and Athletic, the fierce rivals of the Fluviquean capital. Bernard plays in all the attack front, moving with ability and expertise. Young moves on the area and waits until an opportunity appears to score.
Bob Duncan and Pierre Williams have less experience but they both are young and have scored many goals in friendlies and are waiting the opportunity with enthusiasm and works hard to be part of the team.

Staff:

-Manager: Martin Comezzi -Age 45-
-Assistant Manager: Eduard Wells -Age 49-
-Goalkeeping Coach: Sergei Berns -Age 51-
-Fitness Coach: Dr. Richard Sefter -Age 51-
-Coach: Alex Tyson -Age 49-
-Coach: Leander Ames -Age 47-
-Physio: Sigmud Salt -Age 48-
-Physio: Maurice Beltrand -Age 45-

The ball was heading towards goal, and the only thing Katarina Dana Bonner could think to do was try and head it away. She mis-hit it and it went past the goalkeeper for an easy goal, clinching a loss that would surely secure relegation for Lionesses. "Why!?" shouted Katarina, angrily punching the ground. She loved this team with all her heart, she loved this team more than anything, and now because of her, they would be playing in the second division next year. "Why?" she repeated, quietly.

"Come on, Kat, it's going to be alright," her teammate Leonne told her, helping her up. "It's not your fault, if our offense wasn't so anemic, we wouldn't be going down."

Katarina hugged Leonne tightly, sobbing onto her shoulder. "You don't get it, Leo... You aren't from Redtown, you didn't have friends get killed in the Long War, you didn't have your home destroyed by the rebels... You don't get how much this city has been through and how much we've disappointed them."

But as they left the pitch that game, something changed inside Katarina. A new fire had been ignited so to speak, and she wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way when it came to redeeming herself and becoming a star again.

A hooded teenager walked to the pitch and sat down on the bench, lowering her head as the others practiced. "Hey Bia, I haven't seen you in forever," she said to the one next to her, Bianka Schraeder. Bianka didn't reply, opting to ignore the girl.

She decided to try talking to one of her former best friends, Valeriane Carin. "Val, you're not ignoring me too, are you?" she asked. Valeriane shot her an apologetic look and ignored her.

The girl sat on the bench, holding back tears as she watched her ex play at goalkeeper in training. Isa Tangemen, who had broken up with her after breaking a pretty big promise that she had made earlier. Now she played for Rosenpfelblatz City, in a foreign league, and Katarina was playing in division two.

The vicious isolation that the girl, Katarina, was going through was a result of her actions against Isa during that time. Isa had been shunned by the rest of the squad, now that she was captain and the starting keeper, the ones who Katarina had formerly influenced were going against her.

"How can you guys do this?" she asked to nobody in specific, standing up. Nobody replied, and that was what made her burst into tears and leave practice early. Manager Brandon Tjaeder didn't even pay attention, or assistant Mara Fuller. The only one who seemed to care was Augustus Lenz, the former starting goalie.

As Katarina left, Augustus followed her, quitting the scrimmage going on. The coaches protested but he ignored them, following her into the locker room. "Kat, what's wrong?" he asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. They had always had a good understanding, they were both from Redtown and both played for their local teams, Lions and Lionesses, and now they were in similar situations, benched and forced to watch their exes doing better than them.

"They won't even talk to me," Katarina replied. "Forget about playing, I just want everyone to act like I exist..."

Augustus sighed, understanding. "If you need to talk, I'm here. I'm in the same boat as you, I used to be captain, now I'm just.... A bench warmer."

"We'll be back, trust me," said Katarina, with surprising confidence. "You'll start in goal and I'll be on the wing when Pandora inevitably is kicked off the team. In fact, if you're really with me, you can help in speeding up that process."

Augustus was curious now. "What... Do you mean?"

"You'll see," replied Katarina, grinning. "Meet me in my hotel room after practice, I'll explain."

Former Royals FC captain Miranda Byquist was responsible for recruiting players to expansion team Cruz Blanca FC, and she thought that she had found a potential gem in Ursula Qatintiki. Now she sat in a conference room in the same hotel that the Armeian team was staying in, trying to convince the manager of the future team, Tacito Layola, to attempt a transfer. "Look, she had a terrible back four in the Sporting World Cup, I've watched her in the league and I know what she can do, you have to go after her," said Miranda, set on convincing Tacito.

Tacito sighed and glanced down at his papers and at the other coaches around the table. "Fine, we'll look into a loan. She's not worth the fee that a transfer will cost for now, though."

Miranda didn't even smile, she was in business mode right now and she moved right to the next task. "There's another Fleftic player we have to sign. Kristin Pittman. I'm sure you've all heard of her by now."

Tactito and the other coaches nodded. "Yes of course, we've done plenty of scouting on her, however her commitment is with the Army and there's no point attempting to sign her."

Miranda looked up and started explaining her plan that she had thought out ages ago. "Hear me out. I knew we'd need extra money so I got a loan with the Dragon Syndicate... We can offer the Fleftic Army a 'donation' of thirty million dollars in exchange for releasing her from the Army. I know this sounds ridiculous but our advanced stat guy says she's worth building our back four around and it's better to overspend on one center piece player than bring in a bunch of mediocre players who are cheap."

"See if the Fletfics will accept this deal, then we'll talk about if we're actually doing it," replied Tacito, annoyed at Miranda taking a loan without asking. And with that, Miranda nodded and left, knowing she had work to do.

RP PERMISSIONS
Don't kill or injure them for too long. Cards are fine, zanny goals are even better. Also, this is a Sunrisian team. It will be silly.

NEPHARA U-21s
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: Low on possession, but high on pressure, with fast play and short passing. Very physical, quite pacy.
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Captain: Reinhard Armstrong
Nickname: The Magpies

Yet again the U-21s come to play, expectations reasonably high. Monroe has gone for a relatively young selection this time, picking many rough diamonds in what has been largely regarded as a good year for Nepharim talent. Monroe's job is to turn boys and girls into men and women ready to face up to international opponents, instilling that very Nepharim steel and drive to conquer all in their path. Can they do it?

Rachael MONROE - 49
Manager

With a history of being treated badly and discarded by her clubs (Parrhesia United, Maximum Rovers...) Monroe is brave to seek out the unforgiving U-21s. Given a generation not particularly bristling with talent she's focused on those who have the ability, rather than the experience. "The entire point is to give them the big-game experience, isn't it? See who stands tall and who withers. We're breeding internationals here, not First Division players."

Dorcas FADDEN - 41
Assistant Manager

A reliable tactician promoted from within the national team. Fadden believes Nephara have what it takes to win the tournament proper, and nobody can fault the fervour with which she'll pursue these goals.

Goalkeepers
1 - Carsten Thunder (Sabrefell Moths) - Age 19
12 - Gideon Fletcher (AFC Treason) - Age 20
20 - Luna Castelen (Ox River United) - Age 21

6'6", lean, raven-haired and with a dust of stubble, Carsten Thunder is an intimidating opponent for anyone. He's more than ready to take up his father's mantle, good at everything you could ask a goalkeeper to do - save maybe with his feet. Fletcher isn't far off, having impressed in the youth leagues. Castelen is the only one of the three to have played a senior match, however, starting regularly for Ox River and playing a major part in their survival. This one's a close one, with plenty of depth.

2 - RB - Everard Tawney (Sabrefell Moths) - Age 21
3 - LB - Scylla Vyntra (AFC Serpentine) - Age 21
5 - CB - Reinhard Armstrong (AFC Treason, c) - Age 21
6 - CB - Conan Lineker (Maximum Rovers) - Age 21
13 - CB - Catheline Jurist (Sheridan) - Age 21
17 - RB - Gareth Westmead (Chenoworth Harriers) - Age 19
19 - LB - Ashley Kresinger (Sabrefell Moths) - Age 21
22 - CB - Solomon Harm (Egloskerry, APX) - Age 19

Two big, slow, rock-solid centrebacks in Armstrong and Lineker, the same pairing that played through the last Cup. Vyntra on the left is a lethal operator going forward and has the benefit of chemistry with club teammate Vesper on the left, while Kresinger is also a proven quality. Tawney, on the right, has had plenty of opportunities for the Moths and is a more defensive player, though still content to overlap. Jurist is solid, Solomon Harm is the very image of his father Rook, and Westmead can just crush any winger that tries to get past him.

4 - CM - Claire Beresford (Chatswood, vc) - Age 21
7 - RM - Adnan Szalai (Violence Chariots) - Age 19
8 - CM - Cardinal Belgrave (North Laithland) - Age 21
11 - LM - Lienke Vesper (AFC Serpentine) - Age 21
14 - CM - Orion Etzebeth (Maximum Rovers) - Age 19
16 - CM - Camilla Priest (Crisisbless) - Age 21
18 - LM - Karena Braham (Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 21
23 - RM - Artemis Katsamatis (Martella Jazz) - Age 20

A weak point in the last Cup, a strength now thanks to the emergence of a stable of excellent players. Beresford is a true Chatswood player, uncompromising in the tackle and a vocal leader on the pitch, fresh off a personally satisfying season on loan at West Brinemouth. Belgrave, a right-sided attacking midfielder by trade but versatile enough to wear the 8, is a gifted attacking player too valuable to waste, but is it wasting a square peg in a round hole to give him the roaming central role? Vesper has been a consistent starter for seasons for Serpentine, offering remarkable pace and ferocious bite, while Szalai looks as though he will become the concept of the orthodox winger polished to perfection. Priest and Braham have managed significant minutes in international competition for good reason, Etzebeth is already an excellent holding midfielder and Katsamatis is a regular in the First Division and set for greater things.

9 - CF - Asher Voeller (West Brinemouth) - Age 21
10 - CF - Penumbra Amokachi (Brinemouth) - Age 20
15 - CF - Chrysanthe Scafidis (Southfell United) - Age 20
21 - CF - Juergen Evans (Sabrefell Moths) - Age 19

Voeller and Scafidis are colossi, the kind of gigantic, intelligent target players with a decent eye for goal but just as importantly the ability to make space for others. Others prominently including Amokachi, a ludicrously talented striker recently loaned out to Gran Faro 70 in Farfadillis, a clinical finisher with incredible pace, unnatural intelligence and even the ability to pass the ball around a bit. The lanky Evans, the fourth Moth in the side, is effective in his own right.

Expanding the mind

'Oh my God, if I have to run round this stinking pond once more, then I'm going to scream.' Moaned Bella Thompson, a robust young woman with a generally grumpy attitude, prone to impatience. She was barely even out of breath from her exerts, and therefore talking relatively clearly. 'Do you think anyone would notice if I just tailed off and hid behind that tree?'

Chloe Rudden giggled. 'Come on Bella, It's not so bad. Isn't it nice to get some of that country air in your lungs?' She made a gesture with her arms to suggest that she was enjoying it on some deep spiritual level. By contrast Chloe was bubbly character, of a cheerful disposition, and someone whom it was near impossible to catch without a smile.

After his appointment, Grant Nean had taken the Di Bradini Cup squad to a country retreat in a remote part of South Schottia. The 66-year-old was a keen yoga practitioner, all round health freak, and holistic foodie. He also demanded a near devout dedication from his team, as well as complete abstinence while training. For the last three days, the team had been aroused from their sleep at four in the morning for an hour's meditation and stretching before breakfast; for some of the players four was their usual bed time. Meals had been a strictly balanced menu, providing a complete diet ideal for the level of training they would be expected to adhere to in Valanor. Anyone hoping to sneak out in order to embark on some evening drinking would have a good four hours walk to the nearest town. This was a chance for the team to get to know one another, and of course the task facing Nean in this department, was in many ways harder than that of his predecessor. When Schottia won the Di Bradini Cup two years ago, only two players in the twenty-three man squad played their football overseas. The rest were all SPL players who knew each other well, most of them coming through the same academies. This year that number has risen to fifteen as the lack of UICA football means young players continue to leave the SPL in their droves.

Right now, Nean had taken the players out on a late afternoon jog around Loch Kallen. It was a small melt water lake, high in the hills above the manor house in which they were staying. Were it not for the low lying fog, the team would have been afforded fantastic views of the hilly landscape.

The team captain Ben Ross fell back into line with some of the others after speaking briefly with Nean out in front.

'So did you ask him if we could at least go a little faster?' Asked Saskia Holden, a young befreckled girl with a shoulder length dark hair, the bottom five centimetres of which were dyed bright green. 'I'm actually just bored now, I don't even feel like I'm getting any fitter!'

'I did...' Answered the clean cut, broad shouldered young man. '...and he said no.' Saskia and Bella sighed. 'He said that wasn't the point of jogging, and "jogging" meant that you had to have one foot on the ground at all time.'

'Eh?' Bella, voiced an objection. 'I've never heard that in my life. You know I could actually stop jogging and just walk at this pace, we are going so slowly... Just putting that out there!'

'Well, I strongly doubt much will be achieved from arguing with the man, he seems stead fast in his resolve.' Ben conceded with a shrug of the shoulders. 'Besides, he said that this is the last lap, then we are heading back to the house.' Bella looked like she was wanted to say more, but shook her head and kept her mouth shut.

'I really like him; in point of fact.' Said Chloe. 'I'm actually enjoying myself out here.' She adjusted her jog to a springier one. 'I think I'm going to nickname him Neanie-Weanie...' She giggled again. 'He seems like the kind of guy that needs a bright and breezy wee nickname!'

'He he, I wouldn't say that in front of him Chlo!' Saskia laughed at her friend's joke. 'Might not like that one...'

'Yes, I would hold back on the "Neanie-Weanie" stuff.' Added Ben, with a note of sincerity.

'I would love it if I was a manager and my players gave me a nickname!' Chloe joked, sticking her tongue out at Ben. 'I would actually encourage it!'

'What would they call you then?' Asked Saskia. 'Rudden-Pudden? Rudden-Mudden? Rudden-Dudden? Rooden Pooden?'

Chloe laughed more loudly. 'No not much rhymes with Rudden, huh? Maybe it would need to be unrelated. When I was a kid I wanted to be an Elf so badly that I gave my self a name in Elvish, Iennil, and I made my parents call me that around the house. It annoyed the heck out of my dad.'

'Rudden-all-of-a-sudden?' Put in Bella, making an uncharacteristic joke. '...all I've got.'

'Do you not want your players to treat you with respect?' Asked Ben, unsure as to whether Chloe was joking; it was never easy to tell.

'Hah! Hell no!' She answered smiling. 'You should question all authority. In fact when I manage a team I'm going to cook them all nice meals and stay up late with them watching movies and stuff.' She gave the others a somewhat theatrical wink. 'Playing board games in the evening too!'

'Can you imagine Neanie-Weanie doing that?' Saskia asked as they all joined in the laughter.

'Come on!' Grant Nean had stopped just at the turn off and was waving back to the players. 'Lets turn back, and do some stretching off in the gardens. And you four at the back will get more out of this if you stop talking.' He directed the comment at Chloe's group. 'Keep the face free from emotions, if you feel you need to laugh suppress it.' This, for Chloe Rudden, was a tall order indeed.

Back on the lawns of the old summer villa they were staying in, Grant Nean had them all line out in a loose formation. 'Okay everyone, make sure you have enough of a distance between yourself and the person next to you.' He said as he watched his charges space themselves out. There was some apprehension, especially among the more conservative members of the squad, as to what he would have them do next. For some of the players in favour of a more traditional outlook, there was very little worth in this sort of team building.

'Right, now hold your arms out stretched at the shoulders.' Nean, in his training lycra demonstrated the action. 'And with your fingers reaching as far as you can, swirl both hands forward then back, forward then back.' He watched while the others performed the task. 'Good! Well done Boris, that's it! Yes good Lucy, well done.' He moved threw the group of participants expecting their arms for straightness. 'Not quite so quickly Chloe, take your time, it's not a race.' Chloe duly slowed down a little.

'Now, combine that with the quick breathing.' Said Nean, as he came back to the front of the group to show them what he meant. 'Taking your arms back, breathe in. Put your arms forward, breathe out. In - out - in - out.' He allowed them to continue for a few moments longer and slowly the players began to tier. There was a degree of bravado among some of the boys who were determined not to give up, but other than that majority of people had admitted defeat. In the end it left only Boris Hunt and Gareth Souter locked in a titanic battle against the lactic acid.

'Okay boys, that's enough. Really well done everyone.' Nean always kept a very stoic expression, except of course for when he was on the touch line, there he would leap around like a mad man at every decision the referee made. 'That exercises is very good for loosening the muscles, especially when you don't want to warm down straight away.' He looked round everyone, nodding his head slightly, like he was a General inspecting the troops before battle. 'Why don't we take half an hour before dinner, go for a bit of a walk, unwind. Then we can meet back at the house at five thirty?'

There was a series of nods, relived to have gotten something in the way of free time. Sarah Dennis was rubbing her arm as if she had felt they were about to pop out of their sockets, other people had lost the will to live. The team filed out, no doubt some of them in a rush to find out if they had an internet reception. They didn't have much time if they wanted to check-in with the outside world, before long they would have to get back to some team bonding over a nice bowl of spicy chickpea stew.

A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, Resulting in a 1-0 loss. Benton was driven to make it in the mens national team by his haunting mistake, That he did and as the second youngest player on the team.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

#4- Coby Lamar Rice [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 19 - Starter

#2- Fredrick Banhammer Joe [Strickland F.C]
Height: 6'4 - Weight: 197 lbs - Age: 19 - Substitute

Right Defenders [Right Fullbacks/Wingers]:

#9- Eric James Martin [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 167 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
Martin was not introduced to soccer till he decided to try out for his high schools soccer team at a freshman and made junior varsity. The next year he was pushed up to the varsity team and in the next three years. In his senior year his high school won the state championship partly because of him. Martin then went to college at Langston University where he played soccer for two years having an okay first season and a good second season, His performance in the second season of his college career earned him a chance to play for Real Langston F.C which he proudly took and signed with the team for two years. Martin had an exciting but still disappointing first year. He had his good and bad moments and critics were a shocked by his poor performance. Looking for another opportunity to shine Martin found himself at the national teams training camp and was selected for the roster.

Martin is a quick Right Fullback and he is not afraid to challenge an opponent for the ball, Although this can backfire if his opponent is good at crossing but his speed makes up for any lost ground. Martin is known for only being able to play on the right side of the field and normally played poorly in the center and left side of the field.

#8- Mathew Alexander Creasmen [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 6'1 - Weight: 174 - Age: 17 - Substitute

Defensive Midfielder:

#10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He is suspected to be a starter for the team next season. Hernandez surprisingly was selected to play for the national team after a excellent show at the national training camp.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

#12- Zahhere Amadeus Abdul [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 158 lbs - Age: 19 - Substitute

Left Midfielders:

#11- Anthony Don Crox [Devonta City Capitals]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, A minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. Crox was one of the few minor league players invited to the national teams training camp and in an impressive feat was selected to play for the national team.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

#13- Nicolas Xavier Fulton [Mandiana F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 158 lbs - Age: 18 - Substitute

Right Midfielders:

#14- Tyre Irving Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 20 - Starter

#15- Julius Xander Washington [Mandiana F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., An emerging professional soccer club. In his first year as a substitute he played well and helped the team to the semi-finals. Washington was invited to tryout at the national teams training camp and he soon accepted the invitation, After hard work and a determined effort Washington was selected for the national team.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

#16- Alexander Graham Jones [Mariner F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Alexander played soccer for his local youth soccer league before he joined his high schools varsity soccer team leading them to a city wide championship twice in his four years of playing for his high school, After high school he managed to get signed onto a minor league where he played two great seasons but with limited success. Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., In just one season he helped his team to the quarter-finals and became a noted player. Jones received an invite to the national teams training camp for tryouts and proudly accepted it, After a superb effort he managed to make the national team.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

#17- Kyle Tallahassee Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter

#18- DeMarie Franz Burton [Nordland F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 20 - Substitute

Forwards:

#19- Lamar Samuel Adams [Danza F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 157 lbs - Age: 17 - Starter
Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Adams was invited to the national teams training camp and proudly accepted, It was no surprise when he was chose as a starting forward, Making him the youngest player on the national team.

Adams is a quick versatile Forward, Using his speed to make good crosses and get through defenders, His dribbling and control are also noted. Shooting seems almost basic to him. Adams has also shown is worth defending using his speed. Adams sometimes gets too frustrated or has problems with bragging about his goals.

#20- Condor Jesse Madrid [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 158 lbs - Age: 20 - Starter

#21- Jeremy Jackson Creeds [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute

"Nova Anglicana, Semarland, Taeshan." Dorcas Fadden whistled appreciatively, irritating several people around the Nepharim table. "Hell of a draw."
It was, annoyingly. Nova Anglicana were a rising power, as were Semarland - and with a particular reputation for building youth. There were Semarlanders everywhere these days. And most of them were good, too. The league, one sensed, was a sleeping giant. Oh, and Taeshan. Always tough to beat, though they really should be able to manage it.
"That's the wrong way to think of it," came a coarse, Northwestern-accented voice from behind, and Monroe turned in her chair to see a lanky, unshaven man in a blue suit.
"The fuck are y-" started Fadden suicidally, but Monroe cut her off.
"Good evening, Mr. Rensenbrink." President Rensenbrink of the NFA, specifically.
"Cheers, Rae," said Rensenbrink cheerfully, with none of the same care for formality. He turned to Fadden. "The fuck are you, then?"
"Dorcas Maria Fadden, assistant manager to the Under-21s," said Fadden stiffly.
"Christ. Do we pay you to do a shit job like that?"
"Y-"
"God only knows why we bother. We could get interns on that." He turned to his secretary, following close behind. "Elaine! Write that down. Unpaid interns for U-21 assistant."
"Right, guv."
Rensenbrink turned back to the management team again. "'Hell of a draw'. Fuck me. No, my girl, that's the wrong way to think of it. The old way to think of it."
"They should be the ones fearing us," said Monroe. She knew when and how to toe the party line.
"Exactly. I've even been thinking of releasing a motivational primer for the squad. ... How is the squad?"
"Uh." Monroe glanced around at the tables around her, the management of many of them suddenly craning necks to try and listen. "The squad's great. Going to beat everyone for sure."
"Good answer, Rae." Rensenbrink clapped her on the shoulder, less than reassuringly. "Good answer. I'll meet you down at the buffet after the rest of this shit."
Monroe nodded. Yeah, right. Away from prying eyes - that's when the real business started to come under discussion.
Once Rensenbrink was out of sight and earshot, Fadden snorted derisively. "That's the bloody President, then. Christ."
Monroe sighed, and leaned back in her chair. "Don't underestimate him, Dorcas. Mark my words, that man's going to bring us to a World Cup someday."
"I'd settle for this Cup."
"So would I, Dorcas. So would I."

Penumbra Amokachi lay back in her bed and watched the stars.
The door opened a crack, and shut. "You all still awake?" grunted Adnan Szalai.
"Mmh."
"Can't sleep?"
"I can never bloody sleep before a game."
"Hmph."
Szalai sat down heavily on his bed, cracked both his knuckles and kicked off his boots.
"You been out on the lash, then?"
"The night before a match? You'd have to be fucking joking. Monroe would kill me."
Amokachi snorted. "Heard players used to do that all the time, back in the old days. The good old days, some people call 'em."
"Nepharim did a lot of things back in the good old days. They'd never get away with it now."
"Would they not? Chris Christon from back at Brinemouth reckoned you could get away with spiking your own First Wind with vodka at training."
"Well, that's probably why they never capped him past 21, isn't it?"
"I get to hear all the stories straight-up," said Carsten Thunder, smugly. "Straight from the lion's mouth. Try to live up to his example, really."
"You're a keeper, though," said Catheline Jurist from the far corner of the room. "You can probably smoke and drink and do whatever you bloody like."
"What's it like?" Szalai asked. "Being second-generation, and all."
"It's... weird. I gotta prove a lot of stuff isn't just nepotism."
"Ne- what?"
Thunder sighed. "The thing where you only get good jobs 'cause of your family pulling strings. None of that, with me. Sure, it helped that the scouts were lookin' at me soon as I could catch a ball, but I got here the same way everyone else did."
Szalai snorted. "I doubt that, mate. I was sleeping rough two years ago."
"What? Fuck off. Nah."
"Yeah. Didn't have my professional contract, couldn't get work, nearly dropped out of school... but I got through it. If I wasn't good at football, I'd be fucked."
"You're properly good, though," said Jurist, admiringly.
"Mmh. I work hard, that's all."
Jurist's good demeanour seemed to crack. "It takes more than that," she said, a little snippishly. "I work as hard as anyone."
"Then prove it on the pitch."
"I do- I try! I'm-"
"Easy, there," said Thunder soothingly. "Adnan didn't mean anything by it."
Jurist was flushing furiously. "I just... I always hear about the three of you, and Cardinal and a couple others and you're all meant to be the future. But we can't all be the future, you know? Some of us are just... I don't know why I'm here."
"You're just one of twenty-three, Kate. Same as any of us."
"But I'm not, am I? I'm... ugh. Forget it. I'm sorry."
"Don't write yourself off," said Amokachi, sharply. "Nobody knows what someone will do up until 25. Brady Monroe was in a Nepharim U-21 shirt at bloody seventeen, then look what happened - he died, and became Brenecian."
"He's no relation to the gaffer, right?"
"None at all, but that's not my point, is it? And you'll see great players who never got into the U-21s, just walked straight into the seniors. It's not over for you just 'cause you haven't caught headlines, Kate."
"I... I guess, yeah. Thanks."
"'S fine."
There was a pause, three or four seconds of silence.
"The headlines help, though, don't they?" asked Szalai at last. "Help drive you on to live up to 'em."
"Bullshit," said Amokachi flatly. "The press don't know shit about football. I got this far without the press, and I'll go further with or without 'em."
"Gives you a sense of perspective, though, doesn't it? The Chariots basically plucked me off the streets. Now this."
"Whatever works for you, Adnan. Whatever works for you."
Another pause.
"I reckon... I reckon maybe we should sleep," came the hesitant voice of Catheline Jurist.
"Prob'ly," sighed Szalai. "It's late. Carsten?"
No answer.
"Well, looks like he agrees," said the Brinemouth striker with smug satisfaction. "C'mon, let's turn over."
"Yeah... uh, you gonna pull those curtains shut, Penumbra?"
"Oh, I'll be fine. Don't worry."
"Right. 'Night, then."
"Yeah..." Jurist yawned. "'Nnnight."
Amokachi nodded, and kept staring out at the Vanorian night sky. Now it was just her and the constellations for company.
Just how she liked it.

DI BRADINI CUP 35 / UNDER-21 WORLD CUP 56
The Left-Back

One of the major surprises this summer, aside from the eventual new national leagues that step up to the plate every new season, were the new player ratings. Among these, there was one particular player that happened to be unnatached after his stint on the Hatcher League didn't manage to achieve any eyes from inside or outside of the country yet had the potential of being a superstar. One would think that this, among many, many other Sunrisians that come out from the youth ranks that would either proceed to be shipped off to an unknown country or play on the middle of the pyramid, where few eyes can take notes of how you play. Thankfully, for João José Valder Baratim, also known as Paranawê, he managed to be signed by Libertarian Ferdullaele and now the eyes of not only Northern, but Unified Sunrise stare at him deeply for what could be one of the perfect pieces to slot on the Samba Kids' defense. Slowly but surely evolving to become a possible club legend at the Ferdullaele side, Paranawê's football relies heavily on agility and as such, has managed to fit on the FFL. We managed to have a chat with the Di Bradini Cup's squad starter left-back as we discussed his start, his ambitions, the atmosphere at Farfadillis, the unsuccesful run on the Campionato Esportiva and the chance of playing at the Di Bradini Cup.

DE PLACA: Paranawê, could you describe yourself?
PARANAWÊ: That's a bit odd to say, but sure. My name's João José Valder Baratim, but most of you know me by the name Paranawê. (laughs) I was born at Lorenville, Ayeville and my favorite teams are the Neuville Scythers and... I don't know, the teams I played for? (laughs)
DP: A happy player, aren't you?
P: Yeah! Though to be fair, I'm more of a spectator than anything. Specially when it comes to the good folk that make videogames who think I'm the next coming of Ash! (laughs)
DP: Also, you're from Ayeville? It doesn't seem like the name of someone from that region.
P: Well, my whole family is from Carnival... The thing is that, before I was born, my father took a job offer at Neuville. He and my mother ended up working at Neuville and then they'd return home to peaceful Lorenville.
DP: So, these last six years have been quite a ride, haven't they?
P: Yeah... I didn't expect such a thing back when I signed for Gama Filho.
DP: Your start at Gama Filho was rather rocky, wasn't it?
P: Mostly because by the time I joined, the team was pretty solid, so I was more of a backup than anything else. Though to be fair there really wasn't a whole lot on playing what was the Junior League back then.
DP: There wasn't?
P: Well... not as much as there is now with the UICA Youth Cup... Back then, our youth league was an oddity on the terms that it had relevance. Now, you have more leagues of the kind getting the spotlight and the folks at the Hatcher League know they have to make the league stable and working.
DP: Yes. And Gama Filho now has a spot at the Hatcher League's Class Red, what do you think about it?
P: I think one cannot vallue Gama Filho enough as being one of the most important Youth level teams of Northern Sunrise. Even if their biggest star is now out of the top.
DP: Kelly Wu of the Afonse Battalion, I assume?
P: Yeah. Even if she was a loaned player, she played her heart out on the Junior League back then... I hope she and the Battalion get back to the top soon enough.
DP: It was a bit unusual to have a Starblaydi on your team, though.
P: Well, we normally had a couple of players from Emirates of Futurnia. Like Daineris that had an uncle or something working at Carnival or the eventual NUSS family fleeing from their government. But a Starblaydi was an unusual sight at Sunrise... specially as a player.
DP: So, you played for them during the Junior League and then the seasons without a Junior League. What were the best days for you?
P: The days without a specific Youth level league, actually. When we didn't have a league, everything was an adventure. You never really knew what you'd be doing in two weeks. We travelled a lot, playing at all points of the Northern Sunrise and later on out of Northern Sunrise as well. Plus, many players were either more interested on the spotlight that the Junior League gave, so they left as soon as that was over... so anyone that was loyal to Gama Filho ended up getting a starter spot, such as myself.
DP: Did you honestly expect your last season at Gama Filho to be like it was?
P: Well, that was the second season we sort of had a league to play for. The Carnival do Oeste mayor had started funding this municipal championship and it also ended up inviting many of the youth sides of Carnival. It was no Liga Lusófona but still.
DP: Liga Lusófona being the traditional Carnival league.
P: Yeah. It's quite a sight actually. Funny that a region with a big team like Carnival Samba gives the same ammount of coverage to their own league.
DP: So, back to topic. Did you expect the last days to be so gruelling?
P: Hmmm... A bit, I must say. I had a shot at going to the university when I was 12.
DP: Reminding the reader that our year's a bit big. We have more seasons played on our year than everyone else, so school years follow that.
P: So, I was supposed to go for Medicine, but the idea of playing football professionally kinda bought me out. My mother was obviously displeased, but I went forward with my choice. So while it was awful to not have any offers until the last day of the season, I assumed things would get better eventually.
DP: What changed things, then? It seemed like you didn't believe you'd get anything aside from a slot on the lower leagues.
P: Well... I'm cleaning my room at Gama Filho when my sister dashes through the door.
DP: That'd be youth product Caipórinha?
P: Yeah. As you can see, our family has terrible nicknames. But still. She says that there's this football videogame named Championship Football Manager and I'm a five star prospect for some reason.
DP: That's what caught everyone's attention?
P: Pretty much. My sister said that it probably was one of their scouts that came along and saw myself as a very talented player or something. (laughs)
DP: But do you have what it takes to justify that skill?
P: I don't know, honestly. I'm playing my best, trying to improve whenever I can but nobody is really perfect and I don't think that a very good player would beat having a team that is just that used to play with each other.
DP: So, about Libertarian Ferdullaele...
P: They're awesome. From start to finish, in fact. The fans, the squad, the manager... even the staff at the club house are awesome.
DP: Yeah, but when you got signed up for them, did you have an idea of what that team was?
P: I kinda did. We had games from the FFL and the FFL2 broadcasted as one of the foreigner leagues we could watch on cable. And while I didn't watch it that much, I had a decent notion of who was who. Specially Libertarian.
DP: They have a reputation of going all out.
P: Yup. Not that much of a problem, in my honest opnion. I think it's easier to go strong straight out of the gate, after all.
DP: So, how would you classify your first season?
P: I think it was a nice season for someone that came out with little hype aside from a videogame. Thought to be fair it's more of a case of our opposition not being that threatening.
DP: Are you ambitious for another team, seeing as your squad isn't exactly the best team around?
P: I'm pretty sure that if everyone were interested on a move, football wouldn't be really fun. And besides, they gave me a shot. A random kid from Northern Sunrise Islands. Why would I turn them out?
DP: And about the Sunrisians on the league?
P: They're all nice. Specially Branquinho. Sucks that his team was on route of relegation either way.
DP: Do you expect more?
P: Well... While we're not on the same region, sans Western Sunrise, our cultures are very similar, so I think adaptation isn't as hard. It could be like Dainer, Ceni and Semarland. A home out of home.
DP: So... about the Campionato, what did you think of it?
P: We played terribly, but then again, we're like the C team of Northern Sunrise. I myself was unprepared as hell. Make no mistake about the team, but we were pretty outmatched against our opposition. And their team chemistry was way better than ours, so I guess it just ended as one would expect... sucks I blasted a hell of a chance there.
DP: So the Di Bradini Cup would be your second chance?
P: Yeah. I'm not the only player that got called to this team, so I assume the coach saw over my performance.
DP: Your group seems to give enough hope for a knock-out run.
P: (laughs) Well, it's easier than the usual Sunrisian group, but I think it's still tough, even if we do have what it takes to surpass Albaie and Nassau-Hessen. Pasarga will be tough, though.
DP: And what does the future holds for Paranawê?
P: I think a bunch of seasons at Libertarian, hopefully some silverware. Anything to make them happy.

Celebrating the Di Bradini Cup's roster, we will soon release a couple of articles to explain some of Sunrise's squad for anyone else, such as their origins and whatnot.

“Hell would have to freeze over before I would rely on that god damn hippie Duval to get the best out of MY players.”

Zimmel II held the telephone away from his ear as the newly appointed U-21 manager Tanner Coile practically screamed into his side of the telephone line. Zimmel was well aware of Tanner Coile’s reputation as a hot head but he never knew how hot headed Coile could get. A small lump formed in Zimmel’s throat as he wondered if he had made a mistake in choosing Coile. “Even IF, and that’s a big IF, I needed his help, he’s probably busy with Zenit Attawapiskat and whatever crazy league system they’re involved in. It’s just plain rude to disturb a manager when they have important work to do. Just, for the love of all that is holy, have a bit of faith in my skills, will ya?”

“Don’t you fear: I have the utmost trust in you,” ZImmel reassured Coile, as well as himself, while wiping away some sweat. “Speaking of bothering, how worried are you about your group?” Coile quickly thought about it before replying. “Well, in all honesty, I’m not worried at all. Devonta at all stages are good but never great, Lymantatia wins a fair bit of their games on random happenstance and favorable referee decisions, which leaves Ceni as the only real threat in the group. However, I honestly think the only reason they are high than us is because we missed a Di Bradini Cup. Else, we’d be the top seed in the group.”

“Now, if you don’t mind minister, I’ve got to get the players ready for the Devonta match on match day 1,” Coile said. “Understood. You get to it and bring the Young Survivors much success,” Zimmel said before hanging up the phone. He sighed before leaning back in his chair. “He’s quite the handful, isn’t he?” Zimmel looked towards the entrance of his office and found Luke Killian, half of his body peeking out from behind one of the doors. “Indeed he is, Luke. Come on in, don’t be such a stranger.”

Killian walked in, dressed unusually fancy in a three piece suit, and sat down in one of the seats in front of Zimmel’s desk. “May I say, congratulations on winning the Runner Cup. Impressive for a first time manager,” Zimmel complimented. “Thank you, it was a memorable start to my managerial career. Wish I could have gone farther in the Copa Rushmori but when you have to face the reigning world champs in the Round of 16, it’s a bit of a challenge,” Killian joked, making the two of them laugh. “Anyway, back to your question: yes, yes he is a handful. Tanner Coile is quite a specimen when it comes to mood swings. I believe even Sanders had better control than Tanner.” Killian nodded in agreement. “He’s a good guy, was a fantastic youth head coach at FC Virtus, even if it came with a few problems. Basically, if anyone can make the U-21 team realize their true potential, it’s Coile so you should have very little to worry about,” Killian said.

“I sure do hope you’re right, Killian. It was an interesting experiment with Assendorp and Cremona that didn’t work as amazingly as it could have so a lot is riding on Coile to succeed. Do you think you could talk to him and give him some advice?” Killian looked at Zimmel and shook his head. “Hell would freeze over before he would ever ask someone for help,” Killian warned.

“That’s what he said too.”

Manager
Ñó Minduruguatzel

Assistant Manager
Américo Marino

Nickname
La Vherderoja
The nickname is a reference to the colours of the kits, though the nickname itself is in Farf.

Style Modifier

Farfadillis will attack, and whenever they find themselves needing to park the bus, they will attack more.

KITS

For this Di Bradini Cup, Minduruguatzel has decided to field a surprisinly young team. He argues these players have all got a much brighter future than the 20/21-year-old players he could field if he wanted to, even if the older players are usually better.

GOALKEEPERS
#1 - GK - Lafayette Tifoxé - Age 17 - FC Jansberg
#12 - GK - Maicol Escot - Age 18 - La Nueva Avenida
#23 - GK - Tobías Morrisaurrhé - Age 20 - Libertarian Ferdullaele

The starting goalie this edition will be Lafayette Tifoxé, a prospect as exciting as Calogero Metz last edition and Rôhj Tzâín four before that. He impressed in the U-18 WC, so it's no surprise a foreign club, this time FC Jansberg, already signed him. This was probably great news for youngster Tobías Morrisaurrhé, who no longer has to compete with him for a starting place. Maicol Escot joins the Liberdullaelan duo. He's more promising than Tobías, but he's not quite Lafayette. He's likely to defend the Novans' goal for a long time.

DEFENDERS
#2 - LB - Trejo Maes - Age 19 - Avenida Leal
#4 - CB - Fabián Rubalcava - Age 19 - Avenida Leal
#6 - RB - Jallerrhé Ljungman - Age 19 - Firewood City
#13 - LB - Josalvadoré Serrato - Age 20 - Fryi Frêndê
#14 - CB - Çrûz Zâçârdí - Age 18 - Mâ Âlâmëómë
#17 - RB - Bonifác Báthory - Age 19 - René Skaé Colonels

Fabián Rubalcava, a substitute last edition, will be starting this edition. A huge aerial threat with concentration that doesn't dwindle, he's quite the prospect. Trejo Maes is a very versatile wingback with the ability to both bomb forward and not utterly suck defensively. He's also got an admirable workrate. Ljungman, who's recently signed for former Osarian giants Firewood City, is a player with a slightly more defensive mindset. So basically a pretty offensive wingback. Serrato, a starter last Di Bradini Cup, didn't impress Minduruguatzel last season, at least not as much as Maes did. Still a talent, though. Zâçârdí's solid performances in the U-18WC have been rewarded with a call-up to the squad. He's very similar in style to the senior team's starting centreback, Ivaktör Bârr. Bonifác Báthory's not very well-known, but if Ñó's seen something in him, there must be a reason for it.

MIDFIELDERS
#3 - CM - Eloy Norrayola - Age 18 - Flamagua
#5 - CM - Ruy Monrazón - Age 20 - Gwinevra Barbarians [C]
#7 - LM - Jê Çìró - Age 20 - Neuville Scythers
#8 - RM - Navarro Lo Squadro - Age 18 - Oljestaden IF (on loan from Avenida Leal)
#9 - OM - Fôrté Wínrôuge - Age 19 - Mâ Âlâmëómë
#16 - CM - Marz Rossinare - Age 20 - Gorfalle Town
#15 - LM - Leonhard Arambauzá - Age 21 - Geyinstanles United
#18 - OM - Tímô Êxís - Age 18 - Dí Maozöxê
#19 - OM - Ror Jevdjevic-Hadsic - Age 19 - Prostran I Forzuda
#21 - RM - Monuele Ribaurésilion - Age 19 - Avenida Leal

The midfield features no less than three capped players. Ruy Monrazón is pretty much assumed to be the senior team's solution to Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl's retirement. He's got the same unbelievable workrate and the same game-awareness. He also likes to pull off last-ditch flashy sliding tackles, just like Yurpá. The other two capped players are Fôrté Wínrôuge, widely regarded as the next best thing, just like Risko Kâí back in the day, and Jê Çìró, a pacey, crafty winger/inside forward who - very arguably - helped the senoir team win the AOCAF Cup at the tender age of seventeen. The other two starters are the ones who impressed Minduruguatzel in the U-18 WC. Lo Squadro's a very traditional winger with a knack for finding empty spaces. Eloy Norrayola is the foil to Monrazón's defensive nature; he's a great playmaker with vicious dribbling, but his defensive skills leave something to be desired. On the bench, Rossinare's known by pretty much nobody. He's ont even a starter for Gorfalle Town. Arambauzá, a starter last DBC, has been displaced by Çìró, while Êxís and Ribaurésilion did enough last U-18 WC to warrant a call-up. Ror Jevdjevic-Hadsic comes from an unlikely place: Karuvis. Karuvis is a state that does not produce good footballers. Until now, the only exception has been Cvijetin Santic. Ror will be looking to follow his footsteps. He's certainly got the natural talent for it, but questions remain over his work ethic.

STRIKERS
#10 - TQ - Täjó Çíânflöné - Age 18 - Raynor City United
#11 - ST - Séraphin Török - Age 19 - Utica United
#20 - ST - Tüjürdr Vhêrdê - Age 19 - Tachi Federal (on loan from Mâ Âlâmëómë)
#22 - ST - Archard Rigózsoldos - Age 18 - René Skaé Colonels

Çíânflöné's the cousin of Wínrôuge, showing that football just runs in the family. He's a player with acute positioning and first-touch, who can turn a game around by touching the ball just two or three times. Török's more of a complete forward. He's a good dribbler, an aerial threat, and a solid finisher. The subs will be Tüjürdr Vhêrdê, a skillful but wasteful, short, pacey forward, and Archard Rigózsoldos, an extremely pacey striker with some clinical finishing and and ambidexterity to boot.

FORMATION

Török
Çíânflöné
Wínrôuge
Çìró Lo Squadro
Norrayola Monrazón

Maes Rubalcava Ljungman
Tifoxé

Nova Anglicana U21 Football Team "The Young Lions"

Manager: Andy McGrath (U20 football manager)

Captain: Colin Dawson

Starting XI/Formation

Image

There are only a couple of holdovers from the last Di Bradini Cup, and they definitely have to step up. Their replacements are a motley collection of 2nd division players and university students. There's definitely some potential in this group, but it will be up to McGrath to draw it out. They play a more or less flat 4-4-2, with McGrath relying on the discipline and strength of the college players. On the defensive side, Tim Moss and Peter Lewis will handle the middle. Lewis is built like a rock, but moves about as fast as one. Moss still needs to bulk up a little bit, but he has the tactical knowhow. He will combine with Homesteaders' Brad Ellis, a good young keeper, to run the defense. They will be joined by fullbacks Sean Mason and Dustin Wilkins, also university players. Their ability to get up and down the wings will be crucial for this team. On the offensive side, Danny Turner and Michael Reese will try to press opposing fullbacks and widen up the Young Lions' attack. Turner is more of a distributor, so look for him to play a bunch of balls into the box. Some scouts question his motor, though. Reese is, to borrow the hockey parlance, a tremendous forechecker. He is constantly moving forward to put pressure on enemy backs while they have the ball. He can get forward in attack or speed back to help on D, but like Turner, he isn't a huge goalscorer. The captain, Colin Dawson (now a senior at Memorial), will generally drift back to cover up on D and disrupt enemy attacks, while Théo Lumière surges forward to act as a link between the two sides of the squad. Up front, Jacques Baptiste, son of Raphael Baptiste, is plying his trade with some success at Zenic's FC Virtus, and the team will be looking to him to score a lot. He'll be joined by Alfonso Bécquer, whose UPEI Panthers fell just short of glory last year, losing 2-1 in the university finals to Tim Moss' St. Stephen's. The two of them will be relied upon to be the main offensive force for the team.

As for other players, the coaches are excited about keepers Caleb Davis and Jack Fields. They were great recruits that the coaches think have a bright future. Defenders Owen Reed, Robbie Bowers, and Brandon Cummings were other top recruits; Bowers and Cummings were U18 selections and Reed has impressive pace and a great boot that will certainly make him McGrath's first choice off the bench. Also of interest are the the young Frenchmen Sebastien Delacroix and Michel Montclair. They wrapped up impressive prep careers by signing with local clubs and are expected to be strong performers in the Yeoman Division. Thomas Russell and Sean Chapman showed their chops at the U18 World Cup as well. Kyle Gilbert and Gavin Branch were U18 starters that will be threats off the bench, and Jordan Lamb is definitely someone to look out for in the future.

Kirishima as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima is literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and some refugees Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D along with Japanese who already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the french won one of their few wins in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.
