Welcome to signups for the seventh Global Cricket Federation World T20 Championship, the only World Cup tournament for any of the three major forms of cricket on NS Sport.

Signups and host bids should be posted in this thread, simply by saying "We sign up" or similar. Please note: puppets will only be entered at the discretion of the eventual host. There is a maximum of one puppet per user, and you must have previously entered a GCF event (either a World T20 or a Test season) to enter a puppet. You may only bid to host if you have previously entered the World T20 Championship.

The deadline for host bids is 9 August 2015 12 August 2015, 23:59 UTC, after which there will be a host vote. Only GCF members currently ranked in the Test ranks who are signed up, or users who have signed up to both the 6th and 7th World T20s, at the deadline for host bids may vote in the election.

Right, due to a lack of host bids until this point (the original deadline), I'm putting in a bid. I hadn't wanted to as I've done the last two and would've liked for someone else to have a go, but since no-one has I'm going to put myself forward.

Also, any competing bids should be lodged within the next 72 hours (deadline Wednesday 12 August at 23:59 UTC), which will be followed by a voting period to end no earlier than Saturday 15 August.

Liventia's bid to host the 7th World Twenty20 Championship
The format will depend on the final number of teams signed up (currently 22).

First round:
If there are 24, 28 or 30 teams: four or five groups of six or seven, playing each other once. The top three from each group (if four groups)/top two from each group (if five groups) will qualify for the second group phase. If there are five groups, the two best third-placed teams will also qualify for the second phase.

If there are 32 or 40 teams: four or five groups of eight, playing each other once. The top four from each group (if four groups)/top three from each group (if five groups) will qualify for the knockout round. If there are five groups, the best third-placed team will also qualify for the knockout round.

If there are 36 teams: six groups of six, playing each other once. The group winners qualify for the second group phase and the second- and third-placed teams will play-off for a spot in the second group phase.

Second round:
If there are 32 or 40 teams: There will not be a second group phase. Teams will play a direct knockout from the last 16 onwards.

All other formats: The 12 teams will be split into three groups of four, playing each other once. The group winners will qualify for the semi-finals. Group runners-up will play-off (third-best against second-best; winner against first-best) for the last semi-final spot.

In formats involving 24 or 30 teams, finalists will play a maximum of 12 games (5-3-2 playoffs-SF-F).
In the format involving 36 teams, finalists will play a maximum of 13 games (5-playoff-3-2-SF-F).
In the format involving 28 teams, finalists will play a maximum of 13 games (6-3-2-SF-F).
In formats involving 32 or 40 teams, finalists will play a maximum of 11 games (7-Ro16-QF-SF-F).
There will be one or two days between each scorination.

RP bonus will be cumulative throughout each stage, but will degrade by half at the completion of the first group stage, after which there will be no further degrading.

Two points will be awarded for a win and one point for a tie. Group stage tiebreakers are as follows: points, wins, head-to-head result(s) [in order of points, wins, net run rate], net run rate.

If a knockout match is tied, the winner will be decided by a Super Over, scorinated using a modified xkoranate cricket file. If there is still an unlikely tie, whichever side lost fewer wickets in the match will be the winner. If the sides are still level, a coin toss will decide the winner.

The Decision Review System will not be in use, reflecting the RL convention not to use DRS in Twenty20 matches.

All 10 of Liventia's first-class cricket grounds will host matches, as well as some smaller grounds which have hosted games in the previous World T20.
