Goal:
1. Cláudia Macedo - GK (23/f) - Eccentric and explosive. Excellent line keeper, but she has trouble with defending corner kicks and free kicks.
22. Trenth Booth - GK (24/m) - Quick, agile, great in one-on-ones, and can dispose of a ball properly in clutch situations.
23. Nosekeni Nbekeni - GK (20/f) - She has everything a potential worldclass goalkeeper needs, but her development is a potential cause for worry.

Defence:
2. Nanami Aoki - RB (28/f) - Smart, tactical defender. Small physique, but excellent pace.
3. Katherine Davenport - CB (26/f) - Talented defender who likes to leave the defensive line. Often disrupts attacks before they even start.
4. Katanmak Juliasterinthen - CB (28/m) - Captain of the team, in the prime of his career. Stellar defender, great communicator and perfect at set pieces.
5. Cadell Iorweth - CB (23/m) - Great and stable defender, he was the best defender of the U-League (Union of Ko-oren's league) last year.
6. Celine de Jong - LB (25/f) - Awesome stamina, she connects the back line to the other lines.
12. Bahtsen Bahvahnin - CB (27/m) - Reliable defender from the desert island of Polaris. He is used to being in centre stage and to get all the attention.
13. Julia Carlson - LB (22/f) - She is great in home games, and she's looking forward to playing in New Sydney moreso than the other venues. She gets unlucky in away games.
14. Roberto Rodriguez - CB (29/m) - Tough defender, strong tackler, but a tendency to pick up cards.
15. Peter Morrow - CB (23/m) - Natural leader off the field, but he doesn't pack the same punch on the field.
16. Katherine Turnbull - RB (20/f) - Tall, but time will tell if she's got enough to make the team.

Midfield:
7. Henrique Nascimento - CM (26/m) - Box to box midfielder, thrives in a team that utilises the long ball.
8. Ceindrych Heilyn - CM (33/f) - Excellent passing rate, likes to play a high possession game. Unfortunately that's not what the Dragonflies do.
9. Violet Wakefield - WM (29/m) - Great crosses, but she will most likely try to cut inside or go for the shot. Bad choices, and on top of that her age is starting to slow her down.
10. Esolywend Eregrent - WM (28/m) - Attacking midfielder who is also just as good on either wing. Can even play central midfielder.
16. Nalaikh Bagaurunir - DM (28/m) - Great interceptor in the midfield. A dogfighter, and you can expect him to be subbed on when there is a player that needs to be shut down.
17. Emeline Millet - WM (23/f) - Good at distracting defenders to create gaps for the strikers. And that's only partially because of her looks.
18. Vitomir Volkov - CM (26/m) - Talented, but still not quite there at age 26. He is on the team after his good performance all season in the U-League.
19. Timo Arevalo - WM (24/m) - Someone to keep an eye on. He can support his team psychologically and delivers some good crosses at the same time.

Attack:
11. Audrey Leroux - ST (27/f) - Excellent poacher. Stays cool in all circumstances, good at defeating the goalkeeper one on one.
20. Anthony Sutherland - ST (25/m) - Elegant striker, good touch. Bicycle kicks galore.
21. Narantuyaa Chuluun - ST (29/f) - Heaps stronger than most defenders. Awful at dribbling, but good at finishing free kicks and corner kicks.

Roster

Coach: Christopher Tajo Mendez

Vice-Coach: Vince Young

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 29 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder. Finally he was chosen to play for the national team the same year. He still waits for a chance to prove himself on the international level.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Nicolas El Nunez [Santa Julia Rockets]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 152 lbs - Age: 25 - Substitute
Nunez played in local leagues around Santa Julia most of his child life before making it on the Washington Heights High school’s varsity soccer team as a freshman. He played well but also had his bad games. He managed to make it in his cities minor national league team and played well there for most of his soccer career. Finally at the age of 25 after two good seasons he was offered a two year contract by Bull F.C but he rejected it saying he likes the minor leagues friendly environment better and nothing could change that. Nunez did go to the national training camp and managed to do the unthinkable and beat out many of the major league goalkeepers causing a massive upset.

Nunez is known for being cocky which makes him a very aggressive goal keeper sometimes even running at attacking strikers to get the ball, This sometimes backfires on him and they get past him, Although he catches many by surprise.

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 32 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons at. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, Making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Astro F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. Soon after his recruitment into the football club he was invited to the national teams training camp. Alvarez successfully finished camp and was selected to play for the national team.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 20 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, Resulting in a 1-0 loss. Benton was driven to make it in the mens national team by his haunting mistake, That he did and as the second youngest player on the team.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, He was given back to Nordland F.C. and played two more seasons and scoring an unprecedented goal from midfield aided by the wind in his returning seasons quarter-finals. Kindred as a natural defender easily made it into the national teams trading camp and was quickly selected.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Micco Chi Takishima [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 140 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Takishima went to Braden Soccer Academy for most of his youth soccer career, Till his last two years of high school when he was transferred to Wesley Soccer Academy. His performance his last two years got him in a local minor league team for three years, By the time agents came to observe his minor league team he was the best defender on his team and was signed to Harding F.C. and played two average seasons. In the middle of this he joined the national guard and played for his bases soccer team. The experience in the army was different than in the major league although he quickly adapted. Takishima found it hard to get selected for the national team but was ultimately accepted.

Takishima short size make him quick and agile and he is usually on the attack, This has its setbacks sense he sometimes strayed too far from his position as center back and goes to the mid field. He also suffers from anger problems which he tries to control.

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 25 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team. Liam to the offer to go train and try out at the national teams training camp and was a quite easy pick to join the team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Eric James Martin [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 167 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Martin was not introduced to soccer till he decided to try out for his high schools soccer team at a freshman and made junior varsity. The next year he was pushed up to the varsity team and in the next three years. In his senior year his high school won the state championship partly because of him. Martin then went to college at Langston University where he played soccer for two years having an okay first season and a good second season, His performance in the second season of his college career earned him a chance to play for Real Langston F.C which he proudly took and signed with the team for two years. Martin had an exciting but still disappointing first year. He had his good and bad moments and critics were a shocked by his poor performance. Looking for another opportunity to shine Martin found himself at the national teams training camp and was selected for the roster.

Martin is a quick Right Fullback and he is not afraid to challenge an opponent for the ball, Although this can backfire if his opponent is good at crossing but his speed makes up for any lost ground. Martin is known for only being able to play on the right side of the field and normally played poorly in the center and left side of the field.

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first. Two years into his contract he has seen many successes although his team has seen better days. Russell easily made it on to the national team.

Russell is not a good all around player and plays best as a defensive midfielder, He is quick and knows how to mark men and pass well, He seems to work best in tight situations and does not disappoint. He has admitted that he needs to work on his crossing and needs to improve his average level dribble.

10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He is suspected to be a starter for the team next season. Hernandez surprisingly was selected to play for the national team after a excellent show at the national training camp.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Left Midfielders:

12- Mohamed Zari Abdullah [Mandiana F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Son of two muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. His father had only brought the clothes on his back and a soccer ball which he passed on to young Abdullah. Abdullah was invited to play for Maxwell Soccer Academy and accepted the invitation. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, Although no one can guess what the #1 midfielder will do next.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. Real Langston made it to the quarterfinals twice but have not made it any further. Phillips herd of the opportunity to try out for the national team and he took it. After much hard work he managed to make the team.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Devonta City Capitals]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, A minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. Crox was one of the few minor league players invited to the national teams training camp and in an impressive feat was selected to play for the national team.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Right Midfielders:

14- DeMonte Creole Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Edwards started playing soccer as a little boy playing local neighborhood kids in his backyard. At age ten he was admitted into the youth league and they soon recognized his potential on the national level. His youth team won two championships and made it to the semi-finals three times, Partly do to Edwards efforts on the team. When he started high school he started to play for his high school team. His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, Managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards took the chance to attend the national teams training camp and after beating out some hard competition he was selected to be on the national team and resigned with Harding F.C. hoping for better results.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

16- Julius Xander Washington [Mandiana F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., An emerging professional soccer club. In his first year as a substitute he played well and helped the team to the semi-finals. Washington was invited to tryout at the national teams training camp and he soon accepted the invitation, After hard work and a determined effort Washington was selected for the national team.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

20- Alexander Graham Jones [Mariner F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Alexander played soccer for his local youth soccer league before he joined his high schools varsity soccer team leading them to a city wide championship twice in his four years of playing for his high school, After high school he managed to get signed onto a minor league where he played two great seasons but with limited success. Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., In just one season he helped his team to the quarter-finals and became a noted player. Jones received an invite to the national teams training camp for tryouts and proudly accepted it, After a superb effort he managed to make the national team.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

17- Tyrell LaMarcus Owens Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Starter
Owens was the son of a minor league soccer player and was raised into a life of soccer. As a kid his dad made him spend countless hours practicing in his backyard. He soon joined his high schools varsity team and dominated on the statewide level. After high school was offered a chance to play for a minor league team or attend a university and play on a college level. Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals. After a good season he was invited to attend the tryouts taking place at the nationals teams training camp which he accepted. Owens passed through tryouts relatively easily.

Owens is known for his short burst of fast energy which allows him to get around other players. This also makes him good at crossing, shooting, and passing. He lacks from a defensive standpoint.

18- Salomon Van Bundy [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Bundy played soccer in his early childhood but quit soccer to play basketball. By the time he reached high school he decided to give soccer another try and joined his high schools varsity soccer team. Through the next four years of high school he made himself known with in his city and with in his state, Many critics were surprised when he was not offered any contracts by a professional league team. He settled for a scholarship to play soccer at Humphrey University where he played with some success his next four years, Helping his team to three quarter-finals and a semi-final. Finally after long negotiations with Danza F.C. he was admitted into the professional league for a two year contract. He helped Danza F.C. to the quarter-finals his first year. Bundy took a shot at tryouts for the national team and was selected after a hard decision.

Bundy is known for being able to play in fast paced type games and can mark players and pass well, This also reflects on his shooting capabilities. He lacks when it comes to defense and ball control.

Forwards:

19- Gerald Van Johansen [Harding F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 22 - Starter
Johansen’s father was a professional soccer player and loved soccer almost as much as his family it seems like. From his first steps in school he attended Gulf Coast Soccer Academy competing against youth league teams and other academies across the nation. He made himself known across the nation and lead his team to many high profile matches and lead his university to four championships. At the age of seventeen he graduated the academy early after signing with Harding F.C. a professional league team, The contract lasted four years. During his first game he wowed the United States of Devonta with his performance in his first match, He continued to impress to the point it was no longer surprising. It was not soon after his second year he became the #1 ranked forward in the league. Though he played well his team struggled as a whole till a better line up was made and the team made it to two championships, but lost both. He resigned with Harding F.C. for three years and passed easily through tryouts for the national team.

Johansen is known for his fast attacking capabilities, He has noted skills in crossing, ball handling, shooting, and works best in crowded environments it seems. Johansen as great focus and is also a capable all around versatile player his only problem is he tends to not like to pass the ball.

21- Lamar Samuel Adams [Danza F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 157 lbs - Age: 17 - Starter
Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Adams was invited to the national teams training camp and proudly accepted, It was no surprise when he was chose as a starting forward, Making him the youngest player on the national team.

Adams is a quick versatile Forward, Using his speed to make good crosses and get through defenders, His dribbling and control are also noted. Shooting seems almost basic to him. Adams has also shown is worth defending using his speed. Adams sometimes gets too frustrated or has problems with bragging about his goals.

22- Michael Jay Geithner [Astro F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 183 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Geithner played soccer all through his childhood for local youth leagues around his city. He failed to make it on his high schools team during his freshman year and it drove him to try hard his next year. The next year he made the varsity team and brought his team to two city wide championships, After receiving an offer to play for a foreign professional team for four years in the nation of Neo-Liberalis he accepted because a lack of offers in the United States of Devonta. During his time in Neo-Liberalis Geithner seen his team they’re go to two semi-finals, After his contract was over Astro F.C. asked him for a two year contract and he accepted. His first year seen Astro F.C. make it to the quarter-finals. After receiving an invitation to the national teams training camp he accepted and barely made the national team.

Geithner is a slower paced forward and uses his ability to control the ball and dribble as his advantages, He tends to not work well in very fast paced games and is not good a defense. Geithner is good at getting players to foul him too.

23- Noah Lamont Hill [Strickland F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 26 - Substitute
Hill played soccer most of his childhood in different youth soccer leagues across the his hometown. When he became a freshman in high school he opted out of playing for his high school and was offered a chance to play in the national youth league, Which he accepted. He had good and bad seasons but managed to get his team to two quarter-finals. By the age of eighteen Hill was offered a chance to play for a professional team in the nation of Rygristan for four years and he accepted. In his four years in Rygristan he brought his team to a championship and semi-finals. Recruiting agents noticed his success and he was signed onto Strickland F.C. for a large five year contract. In his four years there Strickland F.C. has made it to the quarter-finals twice and semi-finals twice. Hill received an invitation to tryout at the national teams training camp, Which he accepted. After a close selection he was chosen to play on the national team.

Hill is known for his ability to mark men and pass, He also is known for his headers. He lacks when it comes to crossing and ball control.

SANTACLAUSISGODISTAN SOCCER ROSTER

Santaclausisgodistan is a nation located in the North Pole of Esportiva where it is Christmas every day and everyone is named Santa Claus. As a result, the players can only be distinguished by their numbers. After one of them scores a goal, they will throw presents and candy canes into the stands for the fans to catch and enjoy. They are Santa Claus. That is what they do. And it's Christmas every day. Their uniforms are Santa suits. Just like the flag. That's all Santa Clice ever wear. And yes, the plural of Santa Claus is Santa Clice.

Pays d'en Haut National Soccer Team

Nation Info:
Nation: Les Peuples Nordiques des Pays d'en Haut (The Nordic Peoples of Pays d'en Haut)
Demonym: Habitants
National Animal: Brown Bear (Ours Brun in French)
Nicknames: Ours, Bears, Bruins, Habitants, Habs, Nordiques
Colours: yellow, light blue & white
Formation: 4-5-1
Style Modifier: -1

Travel in les Pays d'en Haut

Pays d'en Haut is a small medieval nation and a tribal oligarchy. The country is ruled by the 13 ruling clan leaders. There is no elections and to become one of the ruling clan leader, a clan leader must kill (preferably by sword) a ruling clan leader and take his place. And to become a clan leader, one must kill the clan leader of his own clan. If a clan leader is killed by the leader of another clan, his son becomes the clan leader if he's older than 12 years old.

Pays d'en Haut is a backward nation with no technology. Women don't work, they stay at home all day, doing housework and cooking. They don't have much rights, they aren't allowed to become clan leaders. Pays d'en Haut is a catholic nation and all other religions are banned. French is the only spoken language and all other language are banned. People not complying to these laws are executed. If you read further, there's a list of things passible of death penalty.

So we have no technology, that means we have no computers. In fact our population don't use computers, but we have build a technology center for foreign journalists. The foreign journalist goes at soccer games, take hand written notes and then goes to the technology center and use a computer with a dial up internet to send his article. Or he can bring his laptop to the stadium, but we have no wifi in the stadium, write his article on his laptop, go to the technology center and use an usb key to transfer the article to a computer connected with a dial up internet. That's if our computers has an usb port, it's not sure. Games can by televised too. Your television network has to bring its own truck, cameras and technology by plane to our country.

We also don't have the technology to have cars. When arriving at the airport, your players and fans will travel to their hotel and the stadium using a carriage. If they have a valid horse riding licence, they can ride a horse, it's faster than using the carriage.

Pays d'en Haut is a medieval nation and our population doesn't like travelling to other nations. In fact they're affraid of "evil machines up in the sky". So if you RP first, please don't say 10 000 Habitant fans travelled to your country, it's not possible.

List of crimes passible of death penalty:

-Speaking another language than French
-Following another religion than catholicism
-Being atheist
-Fornication
-Adultery
-Rape
-Sexual assault
-Prostitution
-Homosexuality
-Incest
-Bestiality
-Public Nudity
-Having Sex in public
-Doing drugs
-Being an elf
-Being a sapient pony
-Being a sapient whatever else (other than human)

Public nudity in bold because Jeru FC is in our group.
Following another religion than catholicism also in bold because Electrum Diplomatic Offices has Margaret as an assistant coach.

Who is enforcing the law?

Pays d'en Haut does not have a modern police. So the small National Guard and any citizen of les Pays d'en Haut is enforcing the law. So if a citizen suspects someone of being an homosexual, he can kill him and the law will be enforced. So if our citizens doesn't likes your country, there could have a crowd of thousand people armed with swords waiting for your players at the airport just to kill them. Luckily no incident happened when the elves from Valanora played in les Pays d'en Haut. By the way murder is legal in les Pays d'en Haut, providing the murderer has a good reason.

So what to do to not have your players, coaches, journalists and fans be beheaded?

Well it's simple, don't break a law. But don't worry if your players don't speak French. Tourists are required to have a valid passport, and when they enter in les Pays d'en Haut an orange card is given to them. They must carry the orange card around their neck at all time if they wanna be excluded from this law (speaking French) but the orange card must be viewable at all time. So if a tourist, soccer player, journalist have his/her orange card around his/her neck he's/she's allowed to speak another language than French. Tourists still can be executed for all other crimes.

Also, Laura Cashman from Naked News is formally forbidden to enter in les Pays d'en Haut. If Laura Cashman tries to land in les Pays d'en Haut, she will be beheaded on sight at the airport. Dubble Rainbow is also formally forbidden to enter in les Pays d'en Haut due to his homosexuality. If Dubble Rainbow tries to land in les Pays d'en Haut with his teammates, he will be beheaded on sight at the airport. All other Jeru FC players will be allowed to enter in les Pays d'en Haut, but they must comply to the laws. They will also be obliged to attend at a 2 hrs lenght spiritual meeting with our bishop and priests, which will consists of religious education. This will be followed by prayers that will lenght 1 hour. For a total of 3 hours. This will take place at Jeru FC's hotel the day before their game against Pays d'en Haut. [in Pays d'en Haut's calendar games are played once a week]. If Jeru FC's players don't attend at the religious meeting, they will be beheaded just before the game. If Jeru FC players, coaches, journalists or fans comes out of the plane clotheless, they will be beheaded on sight at the airport. If they shows up onto the soccer field naked, they will be beheaded onto the field. Our home game against Jeru FC will be played on MD12.

July 17 update: Since the game has been moved to Southern Democratic States, Dubble Rainbow and Laura Cashman are allowed to travel with the Jeru FC team. Dubble Rainbow will be allowed to play, and Laura Cashman or anyone who could replace her will be allowed to... read the news and do interviews with Jeru FC players.

Another problem, Electrum Diplomatic Offices' assistant coach is Margaret and one of their players is a Margaret summoner. Margaret is formally forbidden to enter in les Pays d'en Haut. ABZ893420242 from Coconut Isles is also formally forbidden to enter in les Pays d'en Haut. ABZ893420242 will be beheaded on sight if he lands in les Pays d'en Haut. Considering that EDO's players play all games it will be a problem. Our home game against EDO will be played on MD4.

National team's background

Soccer has been played for about 20 years in les Pays d'en Haut on an amateur level in a pyramidal system, teams consisted of clans. Clan Tremblay and Clan Gagnon were the two best team. The first professional league was created two cycles ago to the World Cup 70. The Première Ligue de Soccer (PLS) now consists of 5 teams. Another team, AS Blainville, joined the Multiverse Premier League (MPL).

On an international level, Pays d'en Haut's first competition was the baptism of Fire 57. Pays d'en Haut finished 4th in its group with a 1-3 record. It was clearly the group of death with 3 nations out of 5 being puppets and returning managers plus Abanhfleft. Abanhfleft won this group and made it to the quarter finals if I'm correct.

At the qualifications for the World Cup 70, Pays d'en Haut finished 6th in it's group with a 5-3-8 record. Our most memorable game was a 2-2 draw against Nephara, one of the best nations in soccer. Pays d'en Haut fell short to qualify for the World Cup 71 with a 7-1-6 record in the qualifications. We were invited at the Cup of Harmony 63 but didn't have much success being in a group with San Jose Guayabal, Vermark and Gregoryisgodistan.

To accommodate Jeru FC, which the security of their players and fans could be threatened in les Pays d'en Haut, here is a third stadium, located in Southern Democratic States:

Daniels-Barry Stadium:
Hosting: Jeru FC MD12
Location: Beans Ferry, Chattahoochee State, Southern Democratic States
Capacity: 101,821 seats

Taken from my last RP which you can find here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=346441&start=575

"We are aware that they only speak French in les Pays d'en Haut, so they'll be glad to learn that 40 miles east of Beans Ferry/Port Anderson there is the city of Pointe-au-Chien, known for their cajun culture and jazz festivals. Hotels in Pointe-au-Chien have been instructed to only book rooms for French-speaking people for the next 2-3 weeks. Don't worry Jeru FC players and fans, you can find a few hotels in Port Anderson and Ocean Springs. You can also sit at the North Chattahoochee University Hotel, run by the students in hotel management, though we are in the summer and the student-run hotel is closed so nevermind about that. To reach Beans Ferry/Port Anderson/Ocean Springs you need to land at Oglethorpe International Airport. From there you cross the Chattahoochee River, drive 50 miles north to Willacoochee and 175 miles north-east to Port Anderson/Beans Ferry. Or upon landing at the Oglethorpe International Airport, you can take a local flight to McAllister Airport located in Pointe-au-Chien and drive 40 miles west to Port Anderson/Beans Ferry."

Pays d'en Haut plays a physical style and our
players sometimes lose their temper especially
if the team is losing. So don't hesitate to give
them yellow cards or even eject them.
But if we won and have yet to score, don't eject our key players.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Rubén Morantes and Juan Pablo Reyes on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Iván Coupet and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

Unlike previous qualifying processes in which the Valladar national football team played all their home games at a single stadium, that one being Dragon Stadium in Canalave, the VFA has decided to spread the qualifying games all over the nation with Eterna City, Carloburgo, Campo Grande, Bezieres, and the capital Metropolis slated to host home games along with Canalave. The national capital will host two qualifiers (against Kernansquillec and HopNation) while the other venues will host the national team once. The full list of home games can be found below, as well as a link to information on the host cities and stadiums:

MD1: Valladares vs. Garifunya - Venue: Dragon Stadium, Canalave (Capacity: 50,987)

Your RP permissions are mine, short of death and career-ending injuries. If I can send off your players, you can send off mine. If your players can’t be booked, neither can mine. If I can bring Morgan Freeman down from the heavens to heal my keeper, so can you. Just make it funny/entertaining, if you don’t mind. ;)

English, French and Aurentine naming conventions are rather standard and follow Western conventions: first name is the given name, second is the family name. Players of English, French and Aurentine ethnicity will generally be referred to by their family names in most contexts, though Jean-Baptiste Couard is a notable exception. Takiari names are somewhat more complicated, consisting of a given name, patronymic and clan name in that order. The patronymic is generally dropped outside of legal contexts, a convention which is reflected on the roster list, while many Takiari players prefer to go by their given names. The name that all players are referred to as when not using full names are in all caps on the roster list.

If I haven’t posted a starting eleven for a particular game, please assume that the standard eleven are being used. You can feel free to make substitutions, so long as they are position for position as explained on the roster list.

Omerica Men’s National Team
Roster for the Seventy-Second World Cup

Turanga ʻAhipula ʻo ʻOmerika
6 Jacques la Rouge Road
Port-Alexandre, Philibiscostal 18-A40
Commonwealth of Omerica
After a ragtag team of mutts and abandoned kittens embarrassingly put up Omerica’s best ever Campionato Esportiva performance, expectations of a decent World Cup qualifying campaign have dropped to near-record lows in the Commonwealth, with most Omerican football fans choosing to instead focus on the upcoming domestic season. With Omerica’s national side having failed miserably in attempts to escape Pot 4 while simultaneously losing big-name players, questions about the viability of the national side, long the main attraction organised by the TAO, have begun to bubble to the surface as the country heads into yet another long campaign.

Omerica is a federation of twenty-six cantons in north-western Esportiva. Sharing a long and twisting land border with Varmelle to the west and maritime borders with Nephara and Soltsteed, Omerica has historically been the land of ʻeti Takiari, an Oceanic people famed among outsiders for the near impossibility of pronouncing their language. Quickly carved up into a smorgasbord of petty states upon the arrival of Indo-European peoples, a united geopolitical entity known as “Omerica” was unheard of until the 1820’s, when mounting threats of invasion lead to the ratification of the “Treaty of Friendship and Perpetual Union” by 25 states.

The treaty established a loose confederation to deal with matters of defence and foreign policy, but quickly became racked by indecision and stagnation. With the Confederation appearing easy to prey on, the constituent states made a move towards closer union in the 1890’s, establishing a full federation known as the Commonwealth in 1895, though the isle of Soltsteed notably refused to join and decried the Commonwealth as an illegal usurper regime, though this stance was quickly given up when Omerica and Soltsteed ratified the “Treaty of Free Association” in 1910.

Modern Omerica is run as a federal parliamentary republic, with sovereignty considered to rest in the hands of the people. The Prime Minister, commonly referred to by the Takiari title of Taiʻim Taha, is the de facto leader of the country, though the executive power of the office’s holder is constrained by a powerful upper house, a pluriform multi-party system, the bounds of almost-revered constitutional law and the peculiarities of Omerica’s multi-ethnic society and federal system. Although it has had a rocky history in the country, democracy has been considered the cornerstone of Omerican governance, with the country developing a strong democratic tradition since the ratification of the Basic Law and the establishment of the Commonwealth, commonly ranking as one of the most politically and socially free and open states in the multiverse, with high rates of economic, scientific and cultural development being a point of pride for Omericans.
Omerica Home Venues
Due to scheduling concerns at the Arena la Rouge, the “Tour of Omerica” from World Cup 70 and 71 qualifying will return yet again, with the home venues for the Omerican squad once again rotated around the country in World Cup Qualifying. Only four cities bid to host Omerican home qualifiers for WCQ72 alongside the traditional Arena la Rouge, with two venues emerging successful.

To host games against Sargossa (MD3) and San Llera (MD9).
Named after Jean-Jacques la Rouge, the founder of the city of Philibiscostal (/fɪlɪbɪs'kɔːstəl/), the Arena la Rouge (/aʀena la ʀuʒ/) is the home stadium for United Philibiscostal, the most successful club in the country since the 2014 reestablishment of professional football, and the Omerican national team. Located in the nation’s financial and economic hub and its largest city, the “Crown Jewel of Philibiscostal” can seat crowds of up to 66 000 under its retractable roof, with lounges, free Wi-Fi and a stunning view of the nearby sea for fans to enjoy. The Arena la Rouge has seen numerous faces and hosted many memorable games since its reinauguration in 2010, Omerica’s shock results over Nephara, Quebec and Nova Anglicana qualifiers being the latest and most memorable in the history of the Crown Jewel.

To host games against Tumbra (MD7) and Jeruselem (MD11).
The “little sister” to the Arena la Rouge, the announcement that the capital’s Stadium Saint George would host Omerican home qualifying came as little surprise, given the fact that the Turanga ʻAhipula ʻo ʻOmerika snatched a one-third stake in the stadium from Primerliig side AFC Georgetown before last edition’s qualifiers. Playing home to Les Oiseaux yet again, 55 000 can easily watch the games from the comfort of the Stadium Saint George, with the rest of the sights in the First City of the Commonwealth just a hop, skip and step away from the venue via the city’s well-developed metro system.

Image
To host games against the Holy Empire (MD5), United North States (MD8) and Viktoria (MD13).
The Prins Mikäel Pärk (/pʀɪnz mə'kæːl paʀk/) in Port Michael (“Mikäelpoort” in Aurentine) is the largest stadium in the western reaches of Omerica and counts reigning Omerican champions, former Försteliig and Federation Cup winners and five-time UICA qualifiers Royal Michaeltown as its tenants. In a shocking decision, the home of the Black Dragons, renovated for the 2017 Primerliig, will host games yet again this year. Not as large as the others, 40 000 can enjoy the game from the stands and take advantage of the food vendors and free Wi-Fi located inside the stadium itself, giving the lowest ranked teams a comfortable and modern venue at which to play during their trip to Omerika.
Roster and Formation of the Men's National Team
Les Oiseaux have historically relied on and more or less still do rely on the assembly of an offence that would make most teams green with envy. After a poor showing in CE12 caused the resignation of the management team, the team shifted to a 4-2-1-3 formation in games under the management of former Corona Christiana head James-Alexandre Christopherson, weakening the midfield in favour of buffing Omerica’s historically pathetic defence and designating one of the midfielders to assist the Triad in offence whenever possible.

With two-thirds of the Triad, namely George Kostas and Mikaere Raia, now lost to retirement, Christopherson has elected to toy with Omerica’s tactics somewhat, returning to the classic 3-4-3 in away games, while retaining a 4-2-1-3 in home matches. This has resulted in the creation of two separate 23-man rosters (one for home matches and the other for away games) which will be merged into a single roster upon the completion of qualifying.
Staff
Coach: James-Alexandre CHRISTOPHERSON
The former manager for Philibiscostal’s Corona Christiana, Christopherson is the lone manager in modern Omerican football to have won all three TAO Honours, holding a Federation Cup, Challenge Cup and Rakau ʻo ʻeti Toa over his four seasons with the club. Coming to the helm of the national team off La Corona’s most successful season to date, the TAO hired Christopherson after Jean-Baptiste Archambault’s resignation to spearhead the national side, but the first half of World Cup 71 qualifying put Christopherson’s future into serious doubt. Nonetheless, a Cup of Harmony invitation overcame many doubts about Christopherson’s tenure, with a historic win over Red Blackiland widely celebrated throughout Omerica before the embarrassment of the TAO’s “stray animals” gimmick during CE13, when a roster of untrained animals managed to outperform Omerica’s human players.

Assistant Manager: Ryan PRITCHARD
A long-time friend of Christopherson and the coach’s assistant at La Corona, Pritchard is said to be the eye for talent to Christopherson’s strategic acumen. Loyal to a fault to both country and Christopherson, Pritchard has long been Christopherson’s most trusted confidant and has earned him the moniker “el Rey sin Trono” (“the King without a Throne”), rather lovingly by La Corona fans and disparagingly by others, especially fans of cross-town rivals FC Kingsmouth and United Philibiscostal.

Players
Thomas Theodoridis, Karl Anglesey, Thom Barnett, George Kostas and Mikaere Raia have all gone into retirement, with Anglesey and Raia leaving the squad after the last Cup of Harmony and the rest leaving after the last Campionato Esportiva. Players numbered 1-11 are the usual starting squad and players numbered 13-25 will be available as substitutes. Players substitute position-for-position unless the team is shifting tactics due to a sending off or disastrous deficit, with each starter’s designated substitute listed immediately underneath them in the roster list. Barring exception circumstances, players listed in azure blue will only play in home games, while players listed in royal blue will only play in away games; all other players will participate in both home and away matches.

About Prusy Krolewskie

The Principality of Prusy Krolewskie (Royal Prussia) is an absolute monarchy ruled by Prince Zygmunt VIII. We got our independence in 1466 from Prussia. Prusy Krolewskie has a majority of Polish speaking inhabitants with German, Prussian, French, Lithuanian, Russian and Filipino minorities. English is also spoken as a 3rd language by ¼ of the population, mostly in our largest towns. The Prussian people is the original people of Prusy Krolewskie with Baltic origins who were invaded by the Teutonic Order. Today the original Prussian people is kinda extinct but no they aren't extinct because they continue to live in Prusy Krolewskie! And yes I said Filipino minorities because Prusy Krolewskie has claimed a small island in the pacific with Tagalog speaking people.

Prusy Krolewskie is a modern, advanced socialist nation. Football is the national sport, followed by hockey, rugby union, american football and weightlifting. We have two international airports: Prince Zygmunt VIII Lotnisko Miedzynarodowy, located 5 km west of Wyszkow, the capital city of Wojewodztwo Warminskie. Wyszkow is located kinda midway between Ozorkow and the Puck-Malbork metropolitan area, along the Wisla (Vistula) river. The other airport is Miedzyzdroje Lotnisko Miedzynarodowy, located 10 km south of Miedzyzdroje, the capital city of Wojewodztwo Miedzyzdrojskie. Ueckermünde is located on the other side of the Odra (Oder) river about 30 km away from the airport. Travel in Prusy Krolewskie is easy with a modern highway and freeway system. Trains connects the largest cities and nearby airports and you can rent modern cars, most of them are made in our german-speaking Wojewodztwa (Voivodships). Travel whitin the cities is also easy. Ozorkow, the Puck-Malbork metropolitan area and Ueckermünde all have a modern public transport system. You can also find an hotel close to the stadium.

History

Football is played in Prusy Krolewskie since the beginning of the 20th century but Prusy Krolewskie only started playing internationally for the 2nd season of the MPL when Pogon Miedzyzdroje joined this league. Prusy Krolewskie also participated in the last BoF, finishing 2nd in group F and losing to Santaclausisgodistan in round of 16.

All time record: 2-0-2

National Stadium (110 000)
The National Stadium - the "Green Jewel" - is located in North-East Kernansquillec City.

The stadium is linked to the nearby town center and the city's international airport by a direct metro line known as the "Green Line". Shuttles arrives every couple of minutes on match days linking the city center to the stadium in about 6 minutes, with the stadium-airport link about 8 minutes long. City buses also link the stadium to the whole capital and a 25 000 capacity underground car park is a mere 300 meters away from the ground.

The all-seater stadium has a capacity of 110 000. A section of up to 10 000 seats can be reserved for away fans, however less are usually provided. All of the stadiums seats are either green or white.

The Stadium, which was built in 1995, has been refurbished only once in 2036 when damage done during the Great War was repaired and an additional 10 000 seats added. Internal facilities, such as changing rooms along with medical and security facilities were also refurbished with state-of-the-art equipment.

The Stadium hosts all of Kernansquillec's home internationals as well as the National Cup final and playoff finals. The Under 21s also play their home ties here. The stadium has also hosted the finals of the 53rd Series B Champions’ Cup as well as the final of the 8th Youth Cup. The stadium also helped host games during the 20th Copa Rushmori including a round of 16 tie between Electrum and Darmen with the latter winning 2-1.

http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=327181 - Background.

SZAVODA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Сзавода Фудбалски савез/Szavoda futbalový zväz

From the less glamorous end of Rushmore comes a team formed from permanently intoxicated University students, run by two divorcees with violent tendencies. With a predictable opening World Cup where they registered just two wins, although didn't finish bottom, some University players have earned their degrees and buggered off. They've been replaced, mostly by eager kids with a ton of energy, who just want to have a shot.

Management:

Co-Head Coach: Moli Dolanovic - Age: Unknown (Between 25-50)
Sexy and insane - a lethal combination. Her past-times include beating up people who cross her & beating up people who don't cross her, just to keep them on their toes. Moli possesses a shady past, and is reluctant to share with anyone, but one thing has remained the same: a passion for football. Acquired whilst working in foreign countries, Moli joined forces with Dazdan after meeting in a bar in their home city of Vfana and set up the SFA.

Co-Head Coach: Dazdan Iubirdic - Age: 45
The originator of the idea of football in Szavoda, Dazdan's life was at a low point when his wife left him, took most of his money, his child and all his skiing equipment. He'd just returned from a work posting in the icy wastelands of Svengarda and took up his dream with the mysterious Moli. Considers himself a tactical genius. Driven, passionate and perhaps going the way of crazy, Dazdan will do anything to see his dream succeed.

Physio: Dr. Janu Mazic - Age: 58
Hired specially to provide medical assistance and advice by the SFA a week before the BoF. An expert in muscle injuries, and a fan of money.

Defense Coach: Tristan Kuyter (Nephara) - Age: 43
Hired as a foreign expert to help coach the abysmally bad defence. A pretty thankless task, as the defence is more porous than a pile of sponges, but they're slowly working their way up. Doesn't quite get Moli, but hey, no one does. Credited with a significant improvement in the quality of the Szavda defence.

Playing Squad

Goalkeepers:

Nemanja Petrovic - Age: 21 - University Team: Nevograd Technical Institute
A tall, sturdy keeper with a background in handball, which gives him sharp reflexes and an eye for the ball, and one of the few players on the side who cares for football, even foregoing a handball scholarship to a different University to remain in Nevograd to play football. Prefers the 'sweeper keeper' role, although he is prone to errors when outside the box. Superb in the Baptism of Fire, keeping three clean sheets and establishing himself as the Number 1. Had to pick the ball out of the net a fair few times in the World Cup, but developed well.

Stjepan Lukic - Age: 18 - University Team: University of Kreceva
Diminutive in stature, at only 5ft 7", and bouncing full of energy. No particular sports background, just likes to get out in the fresh air and throw himself around in the mud. Prone to making rash decisions and doing perhaps unnecessary things which risk goals, much to the displeasure of his defence. Always a talkative presence behind the defensive line, even if it isn't always about football. No relation to Tim in the defence.

Defenders:

Slavko Stefanovic - Age: 21 - University Team: N/A
An apprentice plumber from Vfana, Slavko operates as a traditional full-back, prowling up and down either the left or right flank, although for the purposes of the Baptism of Fire he will play on the right. He has good pace and sharp footwork, capable of delivering swinging crosses and corners.

Radmilo Novak - Age: 18 - University: University of Central Szavoda
Good at both ends of the pitch, strong and physical in defence - which can often lead to penalties against his name -, with a smart head on his shoulders, and a real threat from set pieces down the other end. He'll always be up in the opposition box for free kicks and corners, capable of good headers. Also possesses and handy turn of pace and tackling skills to match attacking threats.

Tim Lukic - Age: 21 - University: University of Kreceva
A grizzled (if you can be grizzled at 19 years of age) centre back who takes no nonsense. Strong and powerful with the jump of a salmon, Tim is a big threat during attacking corners, but loves nothing more than to put an opposition striker on his backside. Expect plenty of colourful cards and colorful language.

Vedran Milosevic - Age: 18 - University: Pjlomak College, Vfana
A lively wing-back in the traditional mould, who can play on both flanks and switch the play very easily. Two footed and capable of sensational strikes from outside the area, Vedran is one of the teams most exciting talents, someone who, along with Branimir Milic, could actually make a career out of playing football. Grew up in a privileged household in Vfana, and was able to watch Euran football live on television, which attributes to his skill and flare.

Miles Stavic - Age: 23 - University: N/A
Almost missed the flight out because he was languishing in a jail cell after getting arrested for assault after a particularly heavy night on the town. Very aggressive and always looking for a fight, but he can back it up on the pitch with good strength and surprisingly nimble feet, who can really get under the skin of opposition players. Red carded three times during the previous qualification campaign.

Vlastimir Markovic - Age: 17 - University: N/A
A centre back who can also play on the left or the right, or in midfield, Markovic plays with high levels of energy and has good dribbling skills, which means he often likes to play the ball out of defence as opposed to hoofing the ball up the pitch, which is the traditional tactic of the team.

Nenad Nikolic - Age: 22 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A natural leader at the back, with a good brain on his shoulders. He is good at reading match situations, and often has to lead the defence in set pieces and the like. Reluctant to get off his feet, Nenad relies more on none-contact methods to win the ball off of opponents and keep it from them.

Midfielders

Branimir Milic - Age: 22 - Team: Moors Image
The only actually decent player in the squad, and the captain of the squad. Blessed with immense speed and wonderful close ball control, Branimir loves nothing more than to pick up the ball in the midfield and drive into the opposition penalty area. Long range shooting and vision are two more important arrows in his quiver, but he does not shirk on his defensive responsibilities, despite being a rather diminutive 5ft 7", and comes back for corners and to defend free-kicks. Milic is the beating heart of the otherwise static Szavoda team - always moving and running, trying to find space for himself and for others, whilst both on and off the ball. Following the Baptism of Fire, he was picked up by Euran Third Division club Moors. He will look to lead the team to a decent showing at their second World Cup Qualifying campaign.

Pero Milovanovic - Age: 18 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A static distributor of the ball, Milovanovic sits in front of the back four and passes the ball out from about a 10 yard box in which he operates. Defensively astute, standing at 6ft 4", he plays often as a fifth defender by slotting in between the two central defenders. A decent attacking threat from set-pieces, too.

Damjan Dragic - Age: 25 - University: N/A
A trainee policeman, so he will so go on to become the bane of the college students who populate this team. But he's dropped the red and white police uniform and replaced it with the red and white of the national football team. A wide player with good pace and the ability to swing in crosses make him a threat on either side of the pitch.

Nemanja Radic - Age: 19 - University: N/A
An apprentice electrician, although how much work or training he is doing is questionable. Another in the mould of the young, energetic player who doesn't have much of a clue of the technical side of the game. Plays a central midfielder, but tends to rove all over the pitch, mostly following the ball with hot-headed enthusiasm. Possesses decent pace as well.

Isijia Jovanovic - Age: 21 - University: Josef Milanic Institute, Nevograd
Varies between magic and ordinary, often serving up healthy portions of both during the span of a 90 minute game. He can get the ball at his feet and within seconds be running rings around opposition defenders, but then only minutes later he can slice a simple pass into no-man's land for an opposition player to run onto and score.

Domenic Marsejevic - Age: 22 - University: University of Kreceva
Your no-nonsense, hard-hitting central midfielder who lacks the glamour and guile of players like Milic and Jovanovic, but has a canny knowledge of the game and can get himself in good positions both in attack and defence. Chips in with the odd assist and goal as well, which comes in handy.

Stefan Petrovic - Age: 20 - University: University of Central Szavoda
Young and full of energy, he always wants to be on the ball and to unfurl his various tricks which he has learned off of Branimir Milic. Sometimes they come off, which looks nice, but most of the time he's left chasing after an opposition defender who's stolen the ball off of him, which as made him quite fast and strong.

Ljuban Zoric - Age: 24 - University: N/A
Lived overseas for the majority of his life, he experienced football first hand, even playing youth grade football until he upped sticks and returned to the Glorious Motherland. He works as a waiter in a Vfana restaurant, and had to take time off work to play in the competition. He is a rare breed of midfielder who strives to get forward and score goals, and specialises in the spectacular.

Javor Ilic - Age: 18 - University: Kadlec University
A sprightly attacking midfielder with quick feet and and good eye for goal. Operates well behind the two front men as a good distributor of the ball, known for his cutting through balls which split the defence and allow Nikazic and co. to nip in behind. Takes free-kicks from around the box and corners on the left hand side. Second penalty taker after Milic.

Strikers

Mijo Nikazic - Age: 20 - University: Kadlec University
The pinpoint of Szavoda's count-attacking philosophy, Nikazic is small and very, very fast. He can go from a standing start to full pace in a matter of seconds, which makes him absolutely lethal on the break. His size allows him to squeeze past defenders in the box and he has shot placement to match any international striker. A real talent in a side that lacks, well, talent.

Zar Mihailovic - Age: 25 - Team: Arsenal de Releinthi (Abanhfleft)
The living epitome of the word 'target-man' - he's big, strong and knows where the goal is. Outside the penalty area, he's about as effective as a chocolate tea-pot, but inside, he only needs a yard to beat the keeper. He acts as a good foil against the small Nikazic, and together two the make a decent strike partnership.

Simon Filipovic - Age: 20 - University: Nevograd Technical Institute
A good striker with good finishing, but lacks the pace of Nikazic and the strength of Mihailovic, so finds himself as a third wheel in the strike team, and often takes his place on the bench. But that's not to say that he can't score goals or prove a threat to the opposition. He has good spacial awareness and is decent off either boot. One for the future, perhaps.

Home Stadium: Lot 37 (Official Capacity: 0)
Situated in a run-down industrial park on the outskirts of Vfana in southern Szavoda, Lot 37 is just a patch of scrubland with grass laid down in patches and white lines hastily painted on. There are no seats, so opposition fans, should they come, are advised to bring their own seating. There are plans in the pipeline to lay down an artificial surface, so it doesn't cut up in Szavoda's adverse weather conditions, as well as some temporary seating for the bigger fixtures, but as with all pipelines in Szavoda, it's leaky and full of holes.

Style Modifier= +1

This time around, the Lions are going to be a bit more aggressive, starting in the midfield. Kyle Fleming, captain of Cassandra City, shifts from the wing to the center midfield. He'll roam forward in support of Emmanuel Moga while Cesar Martinez drifts back to cover up on defense. Replacing Fleming on the wing is Jake Rhodes, the speedster playing for Atlantea Hurricanes. Rhodes is an aggressive player with a nose for the goal and will almost function as an outside forward. His more attacking play means that Chris Parker will be putting his distributive skills to work more than his goal-scoring skills on the other wing. Backing up Rhodes will be Eli Barrett, who is well known as a strong fullback with good pace willing to challenge enemy attackers. Rhodes should be able to get back on D, given his speed and motor, but if he can't, then Barrett will be there to cut off any chances. Also new to the lineup is Aaron Bowen, playing for Montreal Koreana. He saw some time in the last World Cup, but this will be a true test of his ability. Tim Klein has stepped into a backup role to allow Thomas Barnett, the former U20 and Olympic keeper, to take his turn in the spotlight. Barnett is a good player, but he will definitely be relying on his defenders to help him out. As always, Emmanuel Moga and Chris Hodges provide a strong attack up front, Casey Bowman anchors the middle of the back line, and Bradley Lancaster will attack down the flanks, though perhaps not quite as much, seeing as he's a bit older.

.Football in Arcantova.
Ever since the arrival of Europeans onto the Arcantovan mainland, football has been a national pastime. Football games were known for bringing people together but, sometimes, also tearing them apart.
Many of the major clubs of today were formed in the nineteenth century but rarely competed against each other due to long distance traveling. It wasn't until 1932 that the clubs met in Adapolf and formed the Arcantovan Alpha League. The Alpha League competes annually for the Zenith Cup which is the highest football championship in the kingdom.

Image

.Introduction.
King Darby II, before his death, began putting together a board to bring together the best players in his kingdom to play on the international scene. This was a huge step for the nation which is well known for its isolationist policies. A few people disagreed with the idea, but many couldn't wait to see the men of their football clubs on the world scene.

.Staff.
Director: Dan Hart
Roster Director: Jeff Meyer

Midfielders:
1. Darnell Lee - Rhinebeck FC - Often plays more forward than anything.

Osarius Squad for World Cup 72

Team: Osarius National Football Team (aka "The Firebirds")
Style modifier: +1.5 (counter/possession-based attacking)

Manager: Jermain Lewis (70 years old)
Assistant Manager: Georgina Carsley (62 years old)
Captain: Juan Pablo Rodriguez
Vice-captain: Ruby Fletcher
3rd captain: Wesley Kane

Home stadium: Mount Crown Stadium, Burningham (cap. 98,000 all seated)
The Firebirds' home stadium is built at the foot of the imposing Mount Crown, on the outskirts of the capital city, Burningham. Fans are known for their extremely vocal support, and the Osarian national stadium has been described as a difficult place to play. The stats support this notion, as Osarius are undefeated, and have not failed to find the net there under Jermain Lewis. The most vociferous home fans are seated in a kop-esque stand built into the mountainside, with the huge, rocky face behind them adding to the intimidation. The pitch itself is usually made shorter, but wider than most, catering to the short midfield passing game of the Firebirds, and their frequent use of width. Long-ball teams will find it difficult to find space behind the defence, but teams making liberal use of wingers will likely flourish.

There are also two "special" kits, one is white with black and red flames on the front left, and the other is mostly gold (the traditional alternate kit colours) with a red and black bar across the middle, if neither of these is suitable. I'll make these eventually.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if it's a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Most likely to...
Score a goal: Marco Puntoriero, Andrea Poynter, the winger opposite Wesley Kane, or Wesley Kane (in something like that order)
Create that goal: Wesley Kane, Fabio Mancini or Nicola Costello
Win a free kick: Tobias Clarke or Paolita Bruno
Take (and score) that free kick: Lucio Lazzarani or Wesley Kane
Win a penalty: Marco Puntoriero, Andrea Poynter or Nathaniel Doherty
Take (and score) that penalty: Wesley Kane, Nicola Costello or Marco Puntoriero
Miss a penalty: Yazmin Velásquez
Score a header off a set piece: Salvatore Laccona, Fabian Padron or Emanuele Riviello
Score an own goal: Emanuele Riviello or Clemente Jaconelli
Hack an opponent down: Ramiro Figueroa (out of necessity, of course)
Lose their head and get sent off: Luther Bailey occasionally lashes out
Commit a professional foul: Efrain Suarez. Dude is insane.
Argue with the referee: Nathaniel Doherty or Efrain Suarez (he will sprint a good 60-70m to do it, too)
"Disappear" during a match: Yazmin Velásquez or Theodore Prince
"Put in a shift": Fabio Mancini or Emilio Tapia
Have an elaborate goal celebration planned out: normally, nobody... but Nathaniel Doherty is the team prankster
Get caught stumbling out of a nightclub: Well, Beatriz Montez is "one of the lads" in that way...
Do charity work: Lewis requires the entire squad to at times, but Juan Pablo Rodriguez and Andrea Poynter are most likely to do so without being told
Elicit marriage proposals from fans: Andrea Poynter or Juan Pablo Rodriguez

The team will generally attempt to control possession rather than engage in consciously defensive play; and "parking the bus" is a cardinal sin. When out of possession, the team will generally press high up the pitch and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible, sometimes over-committing, and leaving themselves vulnerable to a swift counterattack. Generally pacy defenders help to alleviate this problem somewhat.

Against stronger opponents, expect to see a more defensive positioning manifest itself, though. Fullbacks will be less likely to bomb forward, and the team tends to be more conservative in possession, often playing backward to draw the opposition in, before launching a devastating counter attack with pace.

They will also slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't unnecessarily provide opportunities to lose possession and/or concede. This doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself, though...

The front line of three is often very flexible, with all three (usually) capable of playing in any of the front three roles at any given time. Most of the time, the centre forward/striker will remain the focal point of the team's central attacking, though, whether they are receiving passes or moving to make space for the wingers.

If there is an attacking midfielder on the pitch, they will likely operate as a "false ten" in tandem with a forward dropping deep (like a "false nine"). Effectively they will be most likely to get onto the end of passes in the final third, and thus score goals. However, there is a strange synergy between Poynter and Puntoriero that flexes between either of them pushing forward. Typically speaking, if the attacking midfielder isn't pushing forward to get onto the end of passes, they are the primary creator -- which normally means one of the three midfielders will be outright defensive.

On the occasions no specifically named attacking midfielder is used, typically it is an indicator that the manager expects a tighter battle for possession in the midfield zone. In these situations, expect Acosta to push forward more often, while the third midfielder is a more defensively-inclined option, like Ramiro Figueroa or Miguel Gomez.

The fullbacks typically overlap a lot -- considering how often the wingers change sides and become "inverted" (i.e. cutting inside the defender on their stronger foot, rather than pulling wide) -- and seem to operate almost as advanced as wingbacks (or even midfielders against considerably weaker teams) a lot of the time, making the system a sort of like a 3-4-3 when Osarius attack, due to Costello (usually) dropping deeper to counter against a potential playmaker "in the hole" for the opposition.

Set piece preferences (in order):
Corner kick takers: Whichever wingers/wide forwards are on the pitch. Wesley Kane usually pulls rank since he's ambidextrous, though
Penalty takers: Wesley Kane, Marco Puntoriero, Andrea Poynter
Free kick takers: Wesley Kane, Andrea Poynter, Lucio Lazzarani
Long free kicks: Clemente Jaconelli, or if he's playing, Efrain Suarez

You don't have to stick to all of that, though. It just fits in better with the way I intend to RP my team (when I can).

Something that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall, though the gap is (still) closing.

Footballers in Osarius are popular for abstract reasons. Despite the cerebral approach to football among the majority of fans -- and a notable tendency to applaud subtleties that would perhaps elude a lot of people; such as a clever run that leads to a chance on goal -- there is a deep appreciation for a tough tackle. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate good football, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

The complicated tactical systems used by modern Osarian teams are well-understood by the fans, and a growing football blogging community within Osarius often has in-depth tactical discussion, and regularly posters show great insight. This is thought to be the result of a general increase in coaching quality throughout the nation, which has also contributed heavily to the national team's increased degree of success in recent years.

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means (if relevant), because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs; Islanders -- those from Kyoshiku/Kholanaras Island in the south-west -- have a warrior-centric culture and are quite insular; many Ikutursans worship a malevolent, erisian, serpent deity... and so on.

Manager: Jermain Lewis
There hasn't been a figure in Osarian sports as "over" as Jermain Lewis since Enzo Corradini in the 2140s, and the former Firewood and Osarius captain is well aware of his popularity. It's not something he intends to lose any time soon. After a deeply disappointing AOCAF performance from the under 25s, and a follow up shocker from the under 20s at the Rabastor Unity Trophy, Lewis dare not fail to meet expectations again. His pride won't allow him to talk down his side's chances of a third World Championship in a row, however, meaning he has manoeuvred himself -- and his team -- into a difficult position. "It's possible." He insists. "We still have a lot of quality in this squad, though the younger guys are still developing. We have enough experienced players, guys who've been there and done it before, and it'll be tough no matter what, but I believe we can do it."

Assistant Manager: Georgina Carsley
Carsley's position as the most feared voice in dressing room has been usurped of late -- by Ruby Fletcher, who many suggest insists on success at international level to compensate for her club's lack of trophies -- but she has stepped up her demands on the defensive players in the team. "We've let standards slip defensively, and we need to sort that out." The former Greeningham City fullback admits. "I think if we want to achieve that third title in a row, we'll need to improve a lot defensively." It was Carsley's demands that led to the hiring of additional coaching staff to allow her more time to focus on working with the defenders in the squad, though she refuses to take much of the credit for the team's successes. "I just assist." She insists. "Sometimes players come to me rather than Jermain because he's a lot busier than I am, I just try to help. Nothing special."

Other Non-Playing Staff
After back-to-back titles, Jermain Lewis might be forgiven for thinking that he need not make any changes to his backroom staff. However, with the departure of some key players from the past two cycles, Lewis is aware that the team might need something extra off the pitch to bridge the gap. To that end, he has hired former Osarius captain and Hastmead Diamante manager Benni Watson to assist with technical coaching, freeing Lorenzo Ruiz to assist Carsley and Decker with defensive coaching duties. Former captain Roque Acosta joins the team in an unofficial mentor role, operating as an assistant to Carsley and Lewis.

Coaches: Lorenzo Ruiz, Harvey Decker, Serenity Lewis, Ayanna Barca-Carthy, Dean Richards, Benni Watson
Notably, Lewis' backroom staff contains four previous Osarius captains, including himself, and some have speculated that this wealth of leadership talent is behind the team's recent successes. Lewis himself states that he has "sought out leaders, specifically winners" because he felt that the team was lacking in direction at times in the past. "We've had some great captains, great players, but we didn't get anywhere until Alain [Montblanc] put it all together and gave them a plan to go further."

Ayanna Barca-Carthy replaces Lorenzo Ruiz as the team's primary technical coach, working extensively with Benni Watson (when he is available) to refine the more delicate aspects of the game with the players; particularly the younger ones. Barca-Carthy's affinity for working with youngsters led to Lewis handing her the reins for the Rabastor Unity Trophy for the past two editions. While this past summer she was unable to repeat previous successes -- the Firebirds; fielding an under-20 squad again, crashed out at the first hurdle, and ranked sixth of six teams -- her reputation holds up. There is said to be some doubt over her long-term viability as a leader for the national team following this, however.

Serenity Lewis, another former Osarius captain, made history as a player; becoming the first Osarian footballer to captain the national side at a World Cup finals stage. In the past it has been suggested that her elevation to national team coach was nepotism, but she thoroughly disabused that notion quickly, gaining the trust and respect of the squad almost immediately with her intense, yet affable demeanour. Much like her father, she inspires the players to want to do better, except not necessarily for her. Last summer, OSN named her as one of the most influential women in Osarian sport, and given Barca-Carthy's struggles at the Rabastor Unity Trophy this year, Serenity might now be best positioned to take over from her father when he steps down.

Former Grasshoppers Turic defender Harvey Decker has been instrumental in improving the defensive quality of the team. While he was never a top player in his own right, he was part of one of the best defences in Osarius for years, under Karl Heinz-Grichenbauer, and the organisational skills he honed during that time period have proven invaluable. Former Osarius and Turic defender Tay Gidds -- a close friend of Lewis' -- maintains that Decker's innate understanding of defending means he is one of the best coaches in the country for defensive positioning.

The final piece of Lewis' double-championship run puzzle has been Dean Richards. The former Hollybrent striker was a prolific goalscorer during his own career, and seems to have been instrumental in honing the inconsistencies that plagued the likes of Laccona and Puntoriero. Richards' understanding of the burden of scoring -- having shouldered it almost alone at Hollybrent for several years; successfully -- has made him the perfect mentor for every promising Osarian forward not named Ezio Grassi. With the goalmachine himself now retired from international football, everyone is waiting to see whether Richards' work will pay off.

Specialist Coaches: Lana Schroeder (goalkeeping), Gabriele Esposito (strength and fitness), Tobias Holt (strength)
Esposito's experience working with football teams -- having spent three years working with Trothwands Evolution prior to joining his mentor and predecessor, Claudio Traga's, organisation -- has proven invaluable as he sought to replace arguably the greatest Osarian fitness trainer of the past three decades. He has since appealed to Jermain Lewis to bring in an assistant for strength training after expressing concern over the physical strength of some of the younger players.

Schroeder still doesn't seem likely to stop coaching goalkeepers for the national team any time soon. Three years ago, she passed up the opportunity to take the director role at the Enzo Corradini Goalkeeping Academy, preferring to take a less prominent role, in order to continue her work with the national team, and has since been offered the role again twice. While she now serves on the board at the academy, she has declined top responsibility, citing that her work with the national team is "too fulfilling to quit" at the moment. Ruby Fletcher is a known fan of the former Callisto City goalkeeper, and in recent years, Efrain Suarez and Bartolo Monteforte have expressed their admiration for the veteran coach.

Medical Team: Dr. Clara Cormega (physiotherapist), Dr. Daniella Bruni (psychologist), Dr. Chanice Ash (team doctor)
Dr. Cormega's presence has been invaluable for Lewis in his attempts to maintain health among his squad. Between the niggling injuries from domestic campaigns his players are involved in, Lewis may have been forced to deviate from his long-term plans with regard to younger, emerging players, if not for Dr. Cormega's expert assistance in limiting recurrence and speeding recovery. Dr. Ash is the newest addition to the team, replacing the now-legendary Dr. Karusiki, and is considered one of the most promising young doctors in Osarius, receiving her doctorate from Kyoshiku University after completing her residency working alongside her predecessor at the University Hospital.

Lewis' quest to convince the OFA to hire a dedicated psychologist for the team paid dividends in recent years, with the increased pressure on the team being alleviated through Dr. Bruni's "unorthodox" techniques. Former captain Roque Acosta -- now on the coaching staff himself -- speaks highly of Dr. Bruni, and her support in the lead up to the last World Cup final.

Scouting Team: Roberto Cormega, Rene Wilson-Ouaddou, Elene Altieri
Something Osarius has never had in the past is a dedicated scouting team. Lewis insisted on this after the humiliating defeat at the hands of The Hakifao Isles during the last AOCAF Cup, and finally he has his wish. It was agreed that a scouting team would aid Lewis in his meticulous preparations, and to fill requirements, he called on one of the most knowledgeable coaches in Osarius (Cormega), a trusted old teammate (Wilson-Ouaddou) and the head scout working under another of his old teammates (Altieri; currently contracted to Hastmead Diamante, under Benni Watson). Of the three, only Wilson-Ouaddou is full-time with the national team, though Cormega's superior knowledge affords him the rank of chief scout. Lewis will be relying on the trio to provide him with detailed information on the lesser known opposition Osarius will face this cycle, as well as to find any weakness in the stronger opponents, as he aims to avoid any slip-ups. While Lewis is very familiar with the tactics preferres by former Osarius international Habib Kouli -- now in charge of the team representing the Jeckish Union -- he has limited information on Brenecia and Varmelle, both of whom he considers a viable threat to Osarius' expected dominance of the group.

The Squad

With the announcements from Roque Acosta, Ezio Grassi and Toby Drummond -- all key players in the team that claimed back to back World Championships -- that they would be retiring from international football after the last World Cup final, Jermain Lewis has faced the challenge of replacing their considerable influence. The series of friendlies scheduled prior to qualifying granted the opportunity to run the rule over the possibilities.

As is customary, Jermain Lewis has named a "pool" of players from which he will select each matchday squad. Higher numbers correspond to players less likely to appear in a given match. The list will be edited later to reflect the final twenty-three players selected for the World Cup finals squad.

"Best" starting lineup:
[4-3-3] Fletcher; Bocchetti, Rodriguez (c), Jaconelli, Harrison; Costello, Mancini, Poynter; Kane, Puntoriero, Marshall

Most common replacements:
Suarez, Padron, Mitchell, Prince, Laccona, Velasquez, Mitchell, Pudoremu, Clarke, Bruno, Gallardo, Mora

Most promising youngsters:
Monroe, Barnes, Robertson, Samuels, Santana, Gomez, Bailey, Scott, Turner, Juarez

Wildcards (risky selections that could pay off spectacularly):
Afolayan, Tapia, Simpson, Figueroa

Feel free to select any eleven players from the national pool (in the spoiler below) if writing a match report or whatever and I haven't specified.
Just note that the further down the list you get, the less likely the call-up, unless they're in one of the lists above.

Timbermunich Soccer Squad
Hardwoods
Background
The Lumberjacks or Jacks, as they are often called, that make up the Hardwoods’ roster are a brawny bunch plucked from the limbs of Great TimberOaks which stand deep within the Great Timbermunich Forest. These Great TimberOaks are massive trees that make up the central portion of the Great Timbermunich Forest, the trees stand at nearly 424 meters tall with trunks that can reach upwards of 32 meters in diameter. It is said that these Lumberjacks once selected spend their entire life within the Great Timbermunich Forest. To be a Jack in Timbermunich is a great honor and they are now selected by The Great Battle Axe while still in utero. They are tasked with guarding the Great Timbermunich Forest from all harm (natural or otherwise) starting at their birth and continuing to their death, that is if they actually do die as no one has ever witnessed a Jacks death nor has a Jacks body ever been discovered void of life they seem to vanish from existence once they reach an estimated 250 years of forest protection. It is also said that each of the Great TimberOaks has a single Jack to watch along with the shared duty over the rest of the Great Timbermunich Forest. If true this would mean that there are approximately 450 thousand Jacks, there are also nearly 100000 trees (multiple genomes) per living Timbermunichers (everyday folks: 50 million) so there are a great number of trees to watch over. You may be asking what this has to do with a soccer team, well you see the Jacks get a small senescence in which they are able to leave the Great Timbermunich Forest and they choose to play sports during this abscission time. Much of the lore around the Jacks seems to indicate this is their final farewell before vanishing from the forest. It is unknown if a Jack gets more than one senescence or not, we have seen some Jacks on more than one cycles roster, but since the legends are not written down we don’t know if this is due to the length of ones senescence or if they have more than one. They do seem to stick with the more strength and power sporting events, which we attribute to their physical stature and strength. After all they spend their entire life wielding one or sometimes two Double Bit Great Felling Axe, an axe that no normal human can lift. This doesn’t mean we don’t see them in finesse sports; it’s just more common for them to choose physical sports more during their senescence.

Player Profiles
Goal Keepers
Great Hatchet Hank
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
Hank attributes much of his success to the training he has gone through as a Great as well as his exceptional hand eye coordination. He also has excellent reflexes and is seen more as a reactive goalie and is somewhere between a Traditional and Acrobatic style keeper. Hank is good both on the ground and in the air as he has great diving speed and distance. The only draw back he has is on 1v1 situations, as he tends to stay on his line and not challenge or cut-off the incoming angle very well. He has been working with the coaching staff to improve that area, but is still somewhat of a struggle. Many of the players thought he would make a good captain because he is very vocal and is a great leader both on and off the field. However he was not selected for that task by the coaching staff and he fully accepts whatever role they want him to fulfill.

Great One-Eye Wallice
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
Wallice as apposed to Wallace, pronounced like Wall-ICE, is the youngest son of Great One-Arm Willy and is considered second in line for the starting keeper position to Great Hatchet Hank. He is an all out acrobatic keeper and because of this his handling ability seems to elude him at times and he simply punches the ball away. That’s not to say he can’t or doesn’t catch the ball, but rather he is more apt to dive at anything coming his way even if it is directly at him. His goal coverage is great too; with his quick feet and excellent vision (even with only one eye) he is able to cut off angles before a chance is presented to the opposition. Sometimes he is a bit to ambitious and will come off his line becoming a sweeper keeper, which can get him into trouble.

Great Mortimer
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
He is more traditional with great hands and field vision. But he tends to have poor positioning at times and can get caught out of place on occasion. His on field commanding voice can be heard by anyone, which is a great asset for him to have. He is a good leader and is liked by everyone on the team. But because of his bad positioning he is not on par with either Wallice or Hank.

Starting Defenders
Great Norman
– Club Team –
– Position –
Right Back
Great Norman is a very physical back who has excellent speed and is rarely beat in a foot race. He is good in the air but could use some improvement in that area as well. Norman has exceptional one on one skill and because of his speed is a great back that is hard to get past. He is very uncomfortable when pressured into the middle of the field and prefers to stay out wide to cover any possible crossing situation. Overall he is an acceptable back with some room to improve.

Great Battle
– Club Team –
Image Crew of Gypsum SC – Image HopNation
– Position –
Center Back
Great Battle is the core of the four backs and keeps them well organized. He is great in the air, has good 1v1 skill, and superb field awareness. His only real downfall as a center back is his speed, sure he is quick footed and skilled on the ball but his overall pace seems to struggle at times. Thankfully he has a couple other backs next to him that are extremely fast and if he does happen to get beat they are there to quickly step in and recover for him. With his communication and field awareness Great Battle gets his defensive unit in good positions to help limit the amount of opportunities that the opponents might have. He is also the best passer out of the four starting backs, because of this he is often a focal point to start the forward progress of their attack.

Great Felling Axe
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team– Position –
Center Back
Felling is a good back and compliments Great Battle in the center very well. He is not as good in the air as most center backs but makes up for it with his excellent positioning and field awareness. He is never found out of position and has the most blocks on the team because of it. The other aspect of his game that is really good is his communication, probably just a bit better than Great Battle’s. He along with Great Battle organizes the teams defensive efforts and keep everyone in check. If he were to improve his aerial ability and perhaps his passing just a bit he may even be a better center back than Great Battle is.

Great Tomahawk Tommy
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
– Position –
Left Back
Tommy is a nice left back but he tends to slide too much. He is also very fast, has good passing, and good 1v1 body positioning so with that combination of skills he is rather hard to beat. He does however have a little trouble staying where he is supposed to and the other backs are constantly yelling at him to get into position. His aerial play is also very good and is often the first player to touch the ball on corner kicks. He is not afraid to get in the way of a shot or pass and is often the leader when it comes to setting up walls on free kicks. He is very coachable and his teammates find his dry humor somewhat funny, so he is a good player to have around when the mood needs lightened.

Starting Midfielders
Great Dead-Eye Darrin
– Club Team –
Image Zorg FC Phynix – Image HopNation
– Position –
Right Midfielder
Darrin plays at the right mid position and is equal in his attacking and defending responsibilities. He is a great all around player with exceptional endurance and passing accuracy. He is often the player that can pick out and precisely pass the ball to an open teammate half way across the field and land the ball directly in the stride of that player. Because of this his coaches have him take all corner kicks no matter which side of the field they are on as well as any longer ranged free kick, the ones that aren’t within range for a direct shot. The one area of his game that isn’t superb is his shooting, which you would think with how precise his passing is he would be a good shooter. But that is not the case as he tends to overpower his shots causing his accuracy to decrease greatly.

Great Wicked Warren
– Club Team –
56ers – Schovenia
– Position –
Center Midfielder
Great Wicked Warren is the pinnacle of the team and is a true commander of the field. The teams’ captain is also one of the first people to join a team outside of Timbermunich, this was due in part to his exceptional play and desire to get better. He is great on the ball and is rarely dispossessed easily maintaining possession in challenging situations. He has good field vision, great stamina and fitness, as well as a shot no keeper wants to be in front of when it is on it’s mark. His leadership on and off the field is second to none and is a great student of the game as he is constantly looking for ways to improve himself and his teams. The coaching staff would love to have 11 players on the field just like Warren and all of them enjoy his coach ability and his lighthearted joking that keeps the team grounded.

Great Dirty Doug
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
– Position –
Left Midfielder
Doug is the teams left midfielder and he does an excellent job fulfilling that roll. He has boundless energy and never seems to tire when on the field. He is a precision passer and can hit almost any target at any time. However his ball control skills still need some work as his first touch often leads him into trouble, so he tries to pass the ball using that first touch rather than controlling it and then doing something with it. His teammates enjoy having him around as he pushes them at training sessions to be better than they are and he is often found well after training has ended working on his touch so he can get better.

Starting Forwards
Great Dagger Dan
– Club Team –
None
- Position –
Right Wing
Dan is a great positional player, rarely ever found out of position and he is exceptionally fast. His speed sometimes gets him into trouble as even when he times his runs officials will still flag him as offside because they can’t imagine someone creating that much space behind a defender without being offside. His Coaches know this is of a concern and often will show officials prior game footage so they are aware of his speed and hopefully not mistake a great run with a true offside call. Dan is also very good in the air and is often a primary target on corner kicks. However he does have one drawback in that he is solely right footed, to the point that he will go out of his way to circle the ball to avoid his left. This can make him an easier mark as defenders learn quickly that he is going to his right, every time. He is working on the left foot but we think it will be a great deal of time before he gets any better with it, his coaches have even restricted him to left only practices in hopes it gets better sooner rather than later.

Great One-Arm Willy
– Club Team –
None
– Position –
Center Forward
Great One-Arm Willy is an excellent striker and has pin point accuracy with his shooting. In order to challenge him and make him a better shooter than he already is the coaches often hang small one inch twigs from the cross bar at different heights and locations around the goal and challenge him to hit them, which he does every time. Because of this he is one of the teams free kick takers and a key target when the team is in the attacking third. The one aspect of his game that suffers is his stamina, he has been working on it but he is often the first to need a substitute in those games that he is required to run a lot in. Another good thing to his game is that he plays up top with one of his sons, which the two almost seem to know what the other is going to do before it ever happens. Willy is one of the best forward the team has.

Great Kyle Slater
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position –
Left Wing
The left wing for Timbermunich is Great Kyle Slater and he is a decent player, but does need to improved in a few areas before he will be considered one of Timbermunich’s great players. He is very good on the ball and can dribble at pace with ease, but his dribbling skill is about where is abilities end. Unfortunately there isn’t anyone to fill his spot that is better so the team is kind of stuck with him on the left. His passing is something that, well, sucks to say the least as he will often miss his target when it is only five yards away. The coaches are desperately trying to fix this and work one on one with him, setting up cones at three yards for him to pass between or try and hit with the ball. His field positioning is okay but he tends to hold back and stay more in the central portion of the left side rather than pushing forward with the other two forwards. The other part of his game that is bad is his heading, he will actually duck away from a ball when he could easily use his head to knock it into the goal and he is often whistled for high kicking because he just refuses to use his head. Hopefully the team can find a replacement for him soon or all the individual training he gets will start to pay off.

*Godmod scoring events
*Issue yellow cards
*Issue red cards

Laubholz-StadionGreat Timbermunich Forest, Timbermunich | Cap: 86,000
Laubholz-Stadion is located south of the Heart of the Grove and just to the north of TimberOak Grove. TimberOak Grove is the capital of the northern region of Timbermunich which the region is called Great Timbermunich Forest. It is close enough that the Heart of the Groves outer rim can be seen, but note that no one other than the Greats can enter the Heart of the Grove. Due to it’s pulsating power shift, the very essence of all life throughout Timbermunich, any none Great that dares to enter the Heart of the Grove is instantly divulged of all fleshy matter and left as just a frozen skeleton at that point in which they chose to enter. So be warned that any travelers to Timbermunich will be closely watched when near Laubholz-Stadion so that they are not harmed by their own curiosity. Timbermunich is also not responsible for anyone that does not heed this warning and dares to test their fate by going near the Heart of the Grove.

Rhizome Arena: capacity 125,000|location Zorg, Copperwies
The largest of all association football stadiums in HopNation, Rhizome Arena is a spectacle to be seen. It is an extremely advanced stadium with self regulating weather blockers that open and close based on the current events attendance, sun glare, precipitation, and event type. It’s a two tier style stadium with each seat having a clear view of the field. It has an impressive array of video boards: two main screens, one on each end of the stadium located on the upper level; a continuous screen that separates the lower and upper levels; and other screens spread through the concourse, the main ones for this type being ideally located just outside of each section entrance. This stadium is home to the Phynix of Zorg FC (Zorg FC’s Senior Squad) as well as the official home of the Hops (HopNation’s Association Football National Team).

All-Time Record: (W-D-L) (64-30-48) | 43-14-10 under Cardona [WCC sanctioned and regional competitions]

Coaches:
Head Coach: Daniel Cardona (FEL)
Assistant Coach: Gabriel Russell (OSR)
Assistant Coach: Bailey Linville

A nation of around forty-six million, Yttribia is located between the nations in Thrilledge and Byfugland, on the continent of Inferiore, in the region of Esportiva; its capital being Fontvieille. The nation's border between the two countries consists of a mountain range known as the Urellans, where most of the Urellians live. There are six official languages, and (in order of usage) they are: English, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, and Italian. The rest of the nation is mostly at sea level, with some of the most gorgeous beaches in the multiverse.

A salad bowl of cultures, Yttribian society is highly welcoming and open to all. Assuming you follow the number one rule in Yttribia, don't be a prick, you're most likely to survive in the country.

The largest five cities in Yttribia are (descending down) Fontvieille, Telino, Gremalsco, Zevella, and Stemanisis.

Home Stadium
After the success of the rotating home pitch used in World Cup 70, the Football Federation will be doing the same once more. Instead of the somewhat large stadiums used in the past World Cup, the Ravens will opt to play in much more smaller venues, and thus limit the amount of visitors into each venue to five percent of the venue's capacity.

The Shrew Dagger, Aturra, Penedès| cap. 31,844
Image
Right by the glorious Atturran coast, the Shrew Dagger plays host to previous champion Aturra SC. The club, funded by Fontvieille natives, has the distinction of being the only club in the region to have a Common Language name for a stadium, instead of using the Catalan language and its dialects here. The stadium's close location to the coast makes it an excellent spot for people to catch a game, then surf and swim. Located in the heart of the city, it's pretty easy to get here, via bus or metro.

[i]San Domicella, Domicella, Urellia | cap. 19,200
Image

Built into the side of a mountain, San Domicella is one of the more unique venues in the nation. Infamous for the snow covered pitch during matches, qualifiers will be taking place during that one time of year where snow isn't that prevalent in Domicella. Because of this, the FF decided to take a shot and give them a chance. The stadium itself is surprisingly hard for many to get to, as the only way to get to the venue is either by trolley lift, or by climbing 600 feet, and most of the time the lift is broken. We ask that those who plan to travel for matches here to prepare in advance.

Jack Eline, aged 17, wrote letters on his desk. One of these letters was to famed football fan, Ferdinand van Tango. He wrote to van Tango, asking why Varmelle never participated in international football competitions despite the support for the beautiful game. van Tango thought the same. One day, he was granted a meeting with Supreme Leader Lindsey Wells. While Wells was usually sober, van Tango had the "honour" of seeing an intoxicated one. And rumour has it that she is much easier to convince while under the influence. And so van Tango managed to convince her, and two years after the formation of the Board for Varmellese Football, the Outsiders now début on the international stage. Despite Wells being extremely intoxicated to the point where she was "...so drunk I don't mind if you kill me," she begrudgingly gives her support. What might be is now what might have been, and the Outsiders seek to achieve what might be.

National Information

Quick Facts
Capital: Reçueçn
Official Languages: French, German, Italian
Non-official Languages: English, Romansh
Population: 8,133,113 (regional censuses 1999-2011)
Area: 55,057 km2
Currency: Guilder
The country of Reçueçn is located in western Europe, nestled in the Alps between France, Switzerland, and Italy. The country is economically and socially very similar to Switzerland, but with a large French influence. The country was founded in the thirteenth century, originally in a military conquest by a baron with a touch of megalomania, (Carl III of Reçueçn) but after a rebellion against him, was reformed with a constitution which was incredibly democratic for that time. The form of the government has not changed much since then, and remains intricate and complicated, although it has been amended several times to modernize it. The government is very decentralized, and individual regions have large amounts of autonomy.

The country is very mountainous, with many river valleys and forested mountain-slopes, but also grassy alpine pastures, usually with cows. The tradition of keeping cows and goats in the mountains has had a large affect on the culture of the nation. Thus the roots of the national culture are alpine and agricultural. There is an inclination towards architecture and , more recently, to follow other European neighbors, science. Societal, scientific, and artistic advancement has been helped by the fact that after the rebellion, the people became very peaceful, and the country has been, as a rule, strictly neutral. In the last few decades, however, the country has joined The Teikei, an international alliance akin to the European Union, and there are plans to tie the Guilder to the Teketa, the inter-national currency of the Teketa.

The Reçuecian National team is rather defensive, partly due to the large influence of Reçueçn FC on the team. However, with other, more offensive players (notably Franky Adams), the team has developed its counter-attacks and become more of a threat on the attack. However, Gerald Firaut (Reçueçn's star goalkeeper) and his defense still dominate the game.

The team has had very little national recognition, being very recently founded: Reçueçn made it to the quarterfinals in the fifty-ninth Baptism of Fire, and afterwards played a friendly against United RussoAsia in "Le 1er Annuel Tournoi Teikei," which they handily won, 3-1.

During the Baptism of fire, the team really came together. As a glance at the roster will show, the team is full of talented, but also high-strung, self-confident and proud individuals, often from rival teams. Thus the debut of the team was rocky and disunified. However, Jacques Tremblay managed to bring the team together in time to do decently in the Baptism of Fire. Now, in the World Cup, a confident, unified Recuecian side goes up against the biggest names in world football.

Roster & Team information

Manager: Jacques Tremblay, 69 years old. Used to coach for Associated Savoie.
Old and wise, and known for his eternal ability to surprise and innovate, Jacques Tremblay is often seen as the father of modern Reçuecian football. He had retired, but when asked to coach the national team, did not refuse. He, along with Gerauld Firaut, holds together the national team, oft riven with tension.
His new methods brought great players to Associated Savoie, his old RNFA team. His retirement not long before the founding of the RNFA hurt the team greatly. However, five years later, he did not refuse when asked to coach the national team.

Starting XI

GK: Gerauld Firaut, 22 years old. Team captain. Jersey #1. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Responsible and mature for his age, Firaut is widely considered the best player in Reçeuçn. His star status does not extend outside the country as of yet, however, due to the fact that he is a goalie, and strikers tend to get more fame. His goal-tending skill, however, is unparalleled.

SW: Leo Beck, 26 years old. Jersey #2. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Beck, when playing with Firaut, helps fill out his team's defensive capabilities, being a stellar defender. Although older than Firaut, he looks up to him as a leader, and is very protective of him, as well as Reçueçn FC's reputation--often causing conflict on the national team.

LB: Ägidius Heissler, 32 years old. Jersey #3. Plays for Itrino.
Can always find a way to trap an attack in the corner, and then get the goal kick. Very tall, and good at heading away corners.

CB: Norman Bright, 30 years old. Jersey #4. Plays for Renwyll.
Can pair well with a good goal-keeper to shut down attacks--if he and the goal-keeper get along. He was widely credited for Renwyll's high performance in the Globe Cup 56.

RB: Oliver Spencer, 21 years old. Jersey #5. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Another star defensive player from Reçueçn FC, Spencer is often outshone by Firaut, and Spencer can never decide whether the rivalry he thinks they have is more important than team spirit or not.

LM: Clint Soto, 32 years old. Jersey #6. Plays for Ville-Sur-Rivière.
Soto has valuable experience from before the foundation of the RNFA, and has a masterful grasp of tactics and strategy. He has, unfortunately passed his peak of fitness.

AM: Harold Saunders, 25 years old. Jersey #7. Plays for Association Genève.
Saunders is synonymous with an aggressive style of play, especially in the midfield. He seems to always be able to find a way to give the ball to Franky. On and off the field he is emotionally well-balanced, usually rather stoic and unmoved.

RM: Maynard Hebron, 23 years old. Jersey #8. Plays for the Alpine Armageddon.
The unsung hero of the Alpine Armageddon, Hebron is a great proponent of football development across Recuecn, especially on behalf of smaller amateur teams who want to join the RNFL. This can sometimes lead to him having an antagonistic mindset against the big names in the sport.

LW: Hippolyte Lavigne, 29 years old. Jersey #9. Plays for Bayern Heidelberg.
Lavigne can make great crosses, but usually tenses up out of pressure if he has to score himself. Very tall, a leading figure on and off the field.

CF: Frank "Franky" Adams, 17 years old. Jersey #10. Plays for Association Genève.
Young, extremely talented, and rather cocky, Franky, who plays for Association Genève in the RNFL, really makes their team. When he has a bad shooting streak, his team has a losing streak, and vice versa, and he knows it. At Association Genève, the team and the fans love him. At the national team, they tolerate him--his rivalries with Reçueçn FC's players cause tension which Coach Tremblay must try to defuse. Tremblay, incidentally, thinks Franky is a bit conceited, although he is still one of the most conscious of his talent.

RW: Freeman Lebo, 22 years old. Jersey #11. Plays for KlydE FC (Cosumar).
Can score goals, is highly motivated, and persevering. However, he is high-strung and not too difficult to offend, traits which, when combined with his overestimation of his own skill, can make him difficult to get along with. Has lots of potential when a manager can get him to swallow his pride, and Tremblay usually can. Whenever he can't, however, Lebo and Franky tend to argue. One of a few Recuecian players playing abroad. Was Puits Tunnellers main goal-scorer but was disappointed with their last place finish and had trouble getting along with the manager there, both he and the team will be happy to go their separate ways.

Reserves

GK: [/b] Jannick Bechtholdt, 29 years old. Jersey #12. Plays for Association Genève.
Association Genève's starting keeper has to alternately put up with being a goalie on a team where it's all about the attack, and being goalie on the national team where he can barely hold a candle to Gerald Firaut. Often ignored, he is still a great player.

SW: Hugh Wilkins, 34 years old. Jersey #13. Plays for Heldingen.
Another high-strung player who is immensely loyal to his club--sometimes to the detriment of unity on the national team.

LB: Paulin Bourguignon, 19 years old. Jersey #14. Plays for Stomford.
Bourguignon is the kind of defensive player who is always trying to clear the ball with long shots and score goals at corner kicks. Big on counter-attacks, he sometimes outpaces the mid-fielders, usually to his coach's dismay.

CB: Lukas Kayserling, 18 years old. Jersey #15. Plays for Hesse Sporting.
Very tall. Calm and controlled. Sometimes has difficulty communicating as he doesn't speak English or French as well as most of the other team members.

RB: Klaus Klemm, 26 years old. Jersey #16. Plays for Chapel-Field House.
Plays defense, but as if he were a mid-fielder. Thinks that because Chapel-Field House comes from the same city as Recuecn FC, they should be just as important.

LM: Luc Pélissier, 28 years old. Jersey #17. Plays for Puits Tunnellers.
Another player with a slightly over-sized ego, Pélissier's skill on the field isn't as great as some others, so he makes up for it usually by either taking someone else's side in an argument, or by boasting about one of his several impressive hobbies. Was partly responsible for the tension that caused Freeman Lebo to leave Puits' Tunnellers.

DM: Grégoire Leclair, 26 years old. Jersey #18. Plays for Association Genève.
Leclair almost never plays at the same time as Saunders. Usually, one is subbed for the other depending on whether more defensive or offensive tactics are called for at the moment. Leclair's specialty is going back and clearing the ball in difficult situations.

RM: Thomas Büchel, 28 years old. Jersey #19. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
Büchel is a very fluid player, who doesn't let himself get locked into the same rut. His best trait is his situational ability, which, when coupled with his dribbling and passing skills, makes him a formidable force when trying to maintain possession or get the ball forward.

LW: Per Tegeler, 21 years old. Jersey #20. Plays for Annedine Sporting.
Good at receiving the ball from the defense or mid-field, trapping it in general, and taking it into the 18-yard box and shooting. Possible weakness is passing: either he doesn't, or it's long air balls.

CF: Ly Nasser, 20 years old. Jersey #21. Plays for Zimmerich FC.
Loves to shoot from far out, and often shoots high. Despite this, he makes up for it with his sheer number of shots. Incredibly aggressive, and loved by Zimmerich fans. Thinks he is one of the best strikers in the world, and he certainly is a good player.

RW: Jean-Baptiste Brochard, 24 years old. Jersey #22. Plays for Lampadaires Associated.
Immensely fast, especially with the ball, Brochard is weaker in set pieces and organized attacks. His strength is the counter-attack and the breakaway.

GK: Helies de Malhortye, 32 years old. Jersey #23. Plays for Reçueçn FC.
De Malhortye has noble blood and is slightly high-strung. Sometimes he is easily offended. Most often, however, he is a solid choice for a back-up goalie. Good at blocking penalties.

Home Stadium

The new national team of Reçueçn plays home games in the same stadium as Reçueçn FC: Carl III Stadium. The stadium seats 45,000, and is in the capital city of Reçueçn, at an elevation of somewhat more than 1,000 meters. This altitude gives a slight advantage to the home team, as visiting teams must adapt to the atmosphere. Various groups across the country find the name offensive, as Carl III was the original tyrannical nobleman whose bloody conquests united the unwilling people of Reçueçn. Although the nation of Reçueçn does not now look back on him with pride, the people of the city of Reçueçn and the surrounding canton still look back to him as a symbol of their superiority over their neighbors (although now usually only in a sporting context).

STAFF:
Manager: Morten Rasmussen, 69
Record in Charge: P 242, W 188, D 32, L 22, GF 520, GA 186, GD +334, WP 77.7%
After guiding the Terns to three World Cup finals in a row, Rasmussen added to his managerial CV by retaining the Copa Rushmori title on home soil, winning back the Cup of Champions, and reaching five World Cup semi-finals out of the last seven editions. He has had a wonderful tenure so far, and has finally outstripped the legendary outgoing WCC president Sol Kirkkegaard in terms of time spent at the helm of the national team, but with an ageing squad shown up by Pasarga in the quarter-finals of the last World Cup, the time for revolution is upon us. When The Big Freeze prevented fans from making their way to those tournaments the great captain Kohev Kungas-Vaga was forced to retire without a single Twitcher in the stands, and a controversial decision not to enter the last Copa Rushmori means Rasmussen has been left with the tough decision to leave many of his older stalwarts out to pasture. He's selected a long of younger players who are making in this squad accordingly, with an eye on gaining experience for one more big push at the World Cup title in WC73 before he starts to think about his own future. We'll remain one of the teams to beat despite perhaps not expecting to win the tournament this time around, and Rasmussen will be happy with a strong showing. Then again, with the depth of talent in the national league greater than it ever has been despite The Big Freeze, who says this skilled and balanced selection of nicely rested players hasn't got the ability to win it again? Heia Terns!

Assistant Manager: Iulian Finnibaturinn, 46
With the departure of Steffan Pekarik, Rasmussen turned to Surtsey Island Gulls coach Finnibaturinn to fill the seat to the right of him in the dugout. Finnibaturinn played for the Terns a huge ninety-seven times, four times as captain, and scoring four goals in the process. He might have retired just before Rasmussen took charge of the Terns, but that doesn't mean he was ever unknown to his new boss, with Rasmussen trying to sign him several times whilst FC Axel Heiburg manager. Pekarik was a born winner, and a tough fighter, and it is thought that Rasmussen has brought in Finnibaturinn because he shares those exact attributes. Once thought of as down and out, he fought his way back into the Terns squad after having found himself at imploded league after imploded league, with a move back to Surtsey and a Champions' Cup medal at Urbizania Wanderers to show for his efforts. Never gave up as a player, and doesn't do so as a coach either. An inspired appointment from Rasmussen.

PLAYERS:
#1 - GK - Leif Ulsletten - Age 32 - Image Red Star Severny Image - 28 Caps, 1 Assist
Originally making it into a Copa squad thanks to Alexis Sand carrying a minor niggle, Rasmussen once again used the Copa to turn to Red Star goalkeeper Ulsletten and give him a promotion. That time, it was into the number one jersey, and he never looked back as he played every minute of the campaign whilst only conceding a single goal. Iulian Kirilaunen's retirement means Ulsletten can finally move up to being first choice for the World Cup, and he will take what he's learned whilst being an integral part of Red Star's surge up the league with him. His Copa performances alone have shown that he clearly has talent enough to become a fiercely talented international goalkeeper, and there is no uncertainty or concern amongst supporters that he'll be able to make this step up. Fast, nimble, and with excellent distribution - his long throws can often be the first line of attack for his sides, as proved by his assist.

#2 - DR - Moses Luc Bjerregaard - Age 28 - Image FC Endeavour (APX) Image - 130 Caps, 35 Assists, 12 Goals
At just seventeen years of age, Bjerregaard was the youngest player to get a call-up to the Terns squad since Alexsandr van Sorensen, and it's not hard to see why. Lightning fast speed, fearlessness, a wicked control of a dead ball, and a willingness to run at players all mean Bjerregaard has the credentials required to be a fine right winger. However, when you add a tough tackle, the ability to read the game, and a keen positional sense into the equation, it's easy to see why Bjerregaard makes such a devastating wing-back. Hence, he is perfect for Rasmussen's preferred formation. His strength in the air can leave something to be desired, but his other strengths and his natural height mean he usually gets away with it. Patchy form of recent years was put to bed at the last World Cup with some fine performances, and now he wants a medal.

#3 - DC - Olaf Strauss - Age 26 - Image Red Star Severny Image - 26 Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
With a calm head and a mature reading of the game, it's not hard to see why Strauss broke into the Red Star first team so young. An absolute mountain of a man, even by Valhallan standards, he is incredibly tough to beat in the air, and few are the players who can find a way to outpace him and his ten-yard-strides. Or that's how they feel, anyway. A leader of men, he has a natural charisma and fearlessness that inspires others to play better around him, and many in the stands at Red star are already calling for him to be given the armband by the management there. He's got a big future ahead of him, that's for sure, and this jump into the Terns first team will no doubt have bigger teams than Red Star looking at him with hungry eyes.

#4 - DC - Willem Otkupshchikov - Age 31 - Image Gwinevra Barbarians (APX) Image - 64 Caps, 1 Assist, 3 Goals - CAPTAIN
Otkupshchikov represents one of those rare success stories where a player can grow and mature way down the leagues with a lesser team before a bigger team notices him and takes a chance on him, only to see said player blossom on the bigger stage and totally steal the limelight. Otkupshchikov did just that at Bjarnarey after having spent the first four years of his career Divisjon-jumping with Waldenoya Bears, and he now finds himself pinched across to Apox to play for Gwinevra Barbarians. Even better, when Morten Salo being rested gave Otkupshchikov a chance in the starting line-up, he hasn't wasted it and seized the opportunity. Tall, solid, and with an incredible work ethic, you won't see Otkupshchikov popping up in the opposition box much, but you will always be able to rely on him to be in the right place at the right time in his own box. Years spent learning his craft internationally with the uniquely talented Aapo Nordenberg have only seen Willem add to his game, and he now finds himself the captain of his nation accordingly.

#5 - DL - Niels Kruse - Age 30 - Image Revolutionaries (EUR) Image - 38 Caps, 5 Assists, 3 Goals
The most patient man in Valhallan football. Niels Kruse has been busily beavering away in Eura for the best part of his career, and as the Terns scouts and Rasmussen finally started making the trips to Revolutionaries to see then-Tern Morten Salo play, Kruse decided to handily make his own bid for NT-inclusion by having the best season of his career so far. Busy, hard-working, and with superb fitness levels, Kruse made the most of doubts over Vaaraniemi's match readiness to take the reserve spot behind Kungas-Vaga in the squad, and with the heroic World Cup winning captain finally retired, he has finally ascended to take his rightful and hard-earned place in the starting line-up.

#6 - DMC - Anders Holzhauser - Age 30 - Image Northbrook Diamonds FK Image - 81 Caps, 10 Assists, 7 Goals - Vice-Captain
It took two consecutive Copa appearances for Holzhauser to provide performances good enough to convince Rasmussen, but he's been along in every Terns squad ever since. Holzhauser is a strong and tough-tackling defensive midfielder, and has made quite an impact on Rasmussen. With a commanding presence, he quickly grabs the eye as he marshals the defence behind him, and though he is able to fill in at centre back should he be required to, Holzhauser has the urge and the ability to push forwards in possession of the ball and add a different dimension to the attack in the process. All this international exposure was bound to create a big move for him eventually however, and he now turns out for Divisjon One champions Northbrook Diamonds FK, who splashed the cash necessary to get Issington to part with one of their prized assets. Fans already think him cheap at twice the price. Replacing the mercurial Eikr Lillehammer won't be easy, but if anyone has the ability to do it, Holzhauser does.

#7 - MC - Bjorn Konigstein - Age 30 - Image SK Franz Josef City Image - 107 Caps, 22 Assists, 14 Goals
With all the money at SK's disposal and all the attraction of playing for the biggest club in the Federation, they can pretty much bring in whoever they want. How refreshing, therefore, that the diminutive Bjorn Konigstein has fought his way through the youth academy and has been commanding a place in the starting line-up for years now. Full of enthusiasm and energy, he's got a sort of magnetic presence on the pitch that just seems to draw the ball towards him, and he is adept at launching forwards and finishing attacks with a sweet strike from the edge of the area in his role as a classic box-to-box midfielder. As with many players, Rasmussen was impressed with his performances during a test run at a Copa, and as such he's now here to stay as part of the starting line-up. A real talent, and it seems odd that someone we still consider to be one of the young and exciting players of the squad currently has the second highest number of caps in the twenty-three - but that's exactly what Konigstein has. Intentionally or not - he's now one of the leaders.

#8 - MC - Eidur Gunnlaugsson - Age 25 - Image FC Axel Heiburg Image - 43 Caps, 16 Assists, 8 Goals
It takes a special kind of talent to get called up into the starting line-up of the Terns aged just twenty, but that is just what Eidur Gunnlaugsson did. The famed Haapa-Mechelin Youth Academy of Axel Heiburg has had something of a dry spell in terms of output recently, but Gunnlaugsson's emergence turns that on its head. Already one of the first names on the team sheet for his club, a dearth of impressive performances from midfielders a few World Cups ago led Rasmussen to consult his notes and find himself unable to come up with a reason why he shouldn't call up Gunnlaugsson. Neither of them have looked back since. Quick, combative, and with a visionary eye for a pass, Gunnlaugsson could be one of the Multiverse's great deep lying playmakers if he continues to develop like this. Possesses an almost psychic relationship with Konigstein in the centre of the park.

#9 - ST - Rauno Bickermann - Age 26 - Image Red Star Severny Image - 40 Caps, 6 Assists, 18 Goals
Rauno Bickermann's emergence in the Red Star starting eleven coincided neatly with their run up the table, and this is no coincidence. Powerful, strong on the ball, tough to shake off and with a knack of finding the right channels to run into at the right time, Bickermann's touch-to-shot ratio is impressive to say the least. Scoring goals is the first, second, and last thing on his mind, but even so he finds the time to play the supportive target man if he's asked to, holding onto the ball and releasing a team-mate through on goal at just the right moment. Bickermann possesses a unique talent, and with the vast experience he's already picked up playing alongside some of the other strikers to grace the national team, he is developing into a player of the highest calibre. He takes the famous number nine jersey accordingly, worn by some of the greatest players the nation has ever seen. And there are whispers that Bickermann could be as good as Skye one day, so watch out for him and his ambition.

#10 - AMC - Luar Dardan - Age 30 - Image SK Franz Josef City Image - 45 Caps, 17 Assists, 7 Goals [- 59 Caps, 21 Assists, 20 Goals for Astograth prior to defection]
It takes a special player to change the rules on who can play for the Terns. Previous rules had stipulated that only players without caps for other nations, and who qualify for citizenship, can play in the hallowed Terns jersey. (See; Torsten Navarro and Yann-Erik Nilsson). The WCC however, appear to have slightly laxer rules on this sort of thing. (See; Alexio Del Nieran). Despite this, the FPIFA resisted any calls to match any policy that would put them more in line with the WCC. This despite the Polarian stewardship of the WCC. Nonetheless, when it transpired that the suddenly stateless Luar Dardan would no longer have the chance to play at any World Cup or Copa Rushmori since the demise of Astograth, and that he qualified for the Terns and Polarian citizenship through residence, Morten Rasmussen successfully campaigned to have the FPIFA relax their rules slightly. They now ignore previous caps for other nations should mitigating circumstances prevent that nation from competing. As a result, the Terns welcomed formerly Astograthian ace Luar Dardan into their squad. He had a very slow start that attracted a lot of negative press, but he finished like a runaway train and the stats speak for themselves. Zeljeznicar's retirement from international football now means it is finally Dardan's time to shine.

#11 - ST - Finn Kirkkegaard - Age 25 - Image SK Nasjonale Hauker Image - 16 Caps, 1 Assist, 3 Goals
Yes, his grandson. SK Nasjonale Hauker's first ever player called up to the Terns sees that particular achievement overshadowed a little by the identity of the player in question. Sol Kirkkegaard, legendary first ever manager of the Terns and current co-President of the WCC, had a son named Julius. Julius wasn't much good at the sport and only made a handful of appearances in the lower leagues for Energie Møllna-Grei. Julius' son Finn, however, has proved to be a deadly and accurate striker of the ball. With several seasons' worth of goals now in Divisjon One, and a handful of impressive performances for the u-21s, Kirkkegaard made it to the senior squad on his own merit, and the nature of his performances from the bench last cycle have led Rasmussen to conclude he'd make a better strike partner for Bickermann than Larsen. Praise indeed. Press interest in him will be larger than usual, but Finn has more than enough to let his football do the talking for him.

#12 - GK - Mateusz Rosenmeyer - Age 25 - Image SK Aasiaat Harbour Image - 4 Caps
Despite Aasiaat's unfortunate plunge down the table in recent years, there have been a few silver linings. First amongst these is the appearance of Rosenmeyer as a force between the sticks. Patient, and with a calmness that you wouldn't expect from one so young, his performances have impressed enough to take him into contention for the national team on several occasions, and after making his point with the u-21s he made his debut in the Copa Rushmori and managed to keep a solid clean sheet, impressing Rasmussen enough to get the nod here, clearly. Will he get on the pitch much? As first back-up keeper now you'd have to assume so. Particularly in qualifying.

#13 - GK - Gunnsteinn Moskowitz - Age 22 - Image Jungle Strike FC (VIL) Image - Uncapped
It isn't all that often that a player comes from so far abroad to launch their international Terns career like this, but that's exactly what Moskowitz has done here. And at the tender age of twenty-two as well. Young for a goalkeeper, ex-pat tongues have been set wagging by the performances of this young man in the V-League, and young Gunnsteinn gets a call-up from Rasmussen accordingly. Surely one for the future rather than the present day, it is hoped that the experience will greatly benefit this young man in the future tournament he will surely be present at. A future number one, almost certainly.

#14 - AMC - Sim Lefebvre - Age 23 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls Image - Uncapped
Demarchelier, Villeneuve... Lefebvre? The Rochefroides community of Ellismare is getting a reputation for producing strong technical players with a flair and gift for playing exciting attacking football, and Lefebvre looks for all the world like he's set to become the final part of a Rochefroides triptych in the central attacking midfield position. Skilled, thoughtful, and with a deft touch with either boot, Lefebvre is the name on the back of all the replica shirts at the moment for his club, and who knows, perhaps a strong showing from the bench at the World Cup could soon see them flying off the shelves in the navy and white of the Terns as well.

#15 - DL - Eirikur Sigurdsson - Age 24 - Image East Franz Athletic Image - Uncapped
Fast, nimble, hotheaded and fond of playing a long way up the pitch - Sigurdsson is everything Rasmussen likes in Bjerregaard but skilled on the other foot. When Kruse gives him the chance to feature, Sigurdsson will be itching to show that anything the right-back can do, he can do on the left, and his performances for East Franz in the league opposite Erevik have certainly shown he is capable of that. Guus Tuulari has drilled discipline and a strong positional sense of awareness into this pacy full-back however, and that gives him the defensive edge to his game that Rasmussen's formation will demand of him. One for the future, certainly, as Kruse is already getting on in years.

#16 - DR - Espen Erevik - Age 26 - Image East Franz Athletic Image - 12 Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
Guus Tuulari's reign at East Franz is a tough one, a hard one, and a strong one. Only the toughest players remain in the matchday squads, and Espen Erevik is one of those without a shadow of a doubt. Built like a bulldozer, he is apparently one of the hardest trainers that any coach could hope to instruct, and he has worked hard at his mobility and speed over the past few years to become to complete full-back. He might be a little too defensive for the pioneering runs that Rasmussen usually requires of his wing-backs, but as an alternative to the buccaneering Bjerregaard when we're looking to close up a game he is perfect. Impressed enough in the past to keep his spot ahead of the exciting youngster Teitur Ronkainen, Erevik will need to shine here if he is to convince Rasmussen he deserves his spot ahead of Ronkainen in future squads as well.

#17 - DMC - Karl-Franz Klemmensen - Age 23 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders Image - Uncapped
Impressive for a realtively poor Jan Mayen side, Klemmensen has certainly benefited from his club's poor squad decisions in recent years to gain the exposure required for a call-up here. WHich is only fair, because his club has benefited from his performances for them. Hard-headed, tough to beat, and fully capable of marking a dangerous attacker out of a match without touching the ball, Klemmensen has a lot to offer the Terns. Highly thought of by a lot of influential coaches in the game, it is thought his club could be tempted to cash in on his fierce talent should he shine on the international stage. So, clubs, watch out for this one. He may have something to prove.

#18 - ST - Victor Larsen - Age 31 - Image Spartangrad (EUR) Image - 75 Caps, 12 Assists, 32 Goals
Huge, hulking, physically intimidating, and with a foot like a traction engine, Victor Larsen is notable for being - along with Yann-Erik Nilsson - the first black Polarian to ever be called up to the national team. Impressive with the Chicks at u-21s level, his pace and raw power can change the game in an instant, and he was doing just that with Red Star in Divisjon One. Spartangrad in Eura took interest in him as a result, and he now plays in the ever-strengthening Euran league. Described as a human battering ram, he provides something very different from the bench, and whilst he never found a way to gel all that quickly with Kolehmainen or Bickermann, Rasmussen will now be looking to the powerfully built half-Djocorangan to act as a quote unquote "super-sub" when needed.

#19 - MC - Mateusz Wolff - Age 26 - Image Dwile Warriors (APX) Image - 26 Caps, 11 Assists, 2 Goals
Mateusz is the younger half-brother of striker Torsten, and whilst both were in the squad it marked the first time brothers have represented the Terns since Niko and Mathias Marek in the first ever squads. A talented attacking midfielder, it is thought that Rasmussen sees his long term role as a more battling and combative box-to-box player, and the presence of other attacking midfielders in this squad certainly hints at that - it'd be a top-heavy squad otherwise. He was one of a number of players who were instrumental in Bjarnarey's recent charge up the table, and this place in the national team is nothing less than he deserves. Set pieces, assists, wicked passes and tricks and flair a-plenty, Wolff has long been described as breaking the mould of Valhallan football, and indeed to look at him on the pitch you'd never guess he was born here, grew up here, and has only just started playing abroad. He's an avid follower of foreign leagues though, and is a fiercely talented guy. Hopefully big things can happen when he gets a chance on the pitch. And yes, he's also heard all the wolf jokes.

#20 - ST - Kjartan Grndstrom - Age 23 - Image SK Franz Josef City Image - Uncapped
Tricks, flicks, snapshots and mazy dribbles, Grndstrom offers everything from the bench that Larsen doesn't, making him the perfect foil off the bench. He'll certainly be keen to make his mark from the bench, and will be itching to bring his youthful exuberance to the fore when he has the chance to do his favourite thing - terrorise tired defenders. He does it for SK, and he's done it for the u-21s. Now, for the Terns? A certain former number nine from his club is supposedly a big fan of this young man, I won't tell you who, but his name rhymes with "Emo Pie". Will he be able to live up to such a strong recommendation? If his form last season is anything to go by - absolutely. All he needs is a sniff of a chance.

#21 - MC - Robin Geirsson - Age 26 - Image Ramusok United (COS) Image - 19 Caps, 5 Assists, 3 Goals
Highly thought of in the Federation, it was something of a surprise to many when he turned down offers from Divisjon One clubs to move to Cosumar, but Robin Geirsson is showing just why he wanted to move away to prove himself. Independent, headstrong, and always looking to do something impressive with the ball. Not just adequate, but spectacular. The most wonderful thing about this is of course how frequently he achieves it. Geirsson has moved back into the centre of the park from the more attacking position he started out at Torshavn with, and his new found freedom to be more physically imposing is something he is apparently enjoying very much so far. A bundle of energy always looking to prove himself, the only problems come when he bites off more than he can chew.

#22 - DC - Marten Ortendahl - Age 26 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls Image - 2 Caps
There are literally tens of players out there at the moment who make a good case for their inclusion in a Terns squad at centre-back, and Rasmussen has never been shy to try many of them out. Not all players take to international football as well as others, whatever their ability at club level, but in Ortendahl Rasmussen has found someone he's willing to give a second chance to. A leader on the pitch for Surtsey despite his young age, and head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to set piece situations, Ortendahl made a few appearances at the Copa a while back and is back to lay a claim to a longer stay in the Terns jersey this time around. Calm, motivated, and a decisive tackler of the ball who doesn't take many risks on it, Rasmussen will be hoping he settles quicker this time around, as there are a host of names waiting in the wings just itching for a chance.

#23 - DC - Iosef Miroshnichenko - Age 23 - Image East Franz Athletic Image - Uncapped
The third member of East Franz Athletic's starting defence to receive a call-up to the Terns bench, Miroshnichenko is another in the increasing line of powerful defenders coming out of the Spires' academy. Having outshone the younger Otkupshchikov brother in the Chicks' last u-21s DBC appearance he followed it up with some strong performances in the league, keeping the likes of Moller, Bickermann, Churin, and Akerhausen very quiet indeed. Accordingly, he received the phone-call from Rasmussen. He perhaps has some things to learn in terms of his timing in the tackle and when to spring the offside trap, but the raw potential here is huge. At only twenty-three this cycle, he has the chance to stake a claim for many future Terns sides.

TACTICS: "The Pythagorean" 2-3-3-2
The Polarian game is methodical, abrasive, technical, and physical. They won't give you a second on the ball to think, and they won't hold back in the tackle. In the centre of the park they will play a possession based midfield game of triangles, though a defence splitting pass could come at any moment towards the fast and direct attack. Rasmussen plays a narrow, modified version of the diamond formation dubbed the Pythagorean by the sporting press. It is reliant upon two key triangular sets of players that transcend the normal "rows" of player in conventional formation layouts. Strauss, Otkupshchikov, and Holzhauser will act as the defensive triangle, and Dardan, Bickermann, and Kirkkegaard will counter at the other end as the offensive triangle. Holzhauser and Dardan's roles in this scheme are absolutely crucial, as their job is to support and unlock the other two players in their respective triangles, providing outlets and creativity in abundance. Konigstein and Gunnlaugsson are part of a compact and creative midfield that will supply steel or style whenever the situation demands it, as well as partnering up with their respective full backs to form a kind of "bumper" that sweeps the flanks in attack or folds in to protect the penalty area in defence. Fitness of all players will therefore be key to the success of this plan; not just the constant positional changing demanded of Holzhauser and Dardan, but the athleticism of Bjerregaard and Kruse in particular will also be tested to the limit as their roles require frequent attacking. It's not quite a 4-3-3, it's not quite a 4-1-2-1-2, and it's not quite a W-M... Well, alright, it's more or less a W-M with a focus on two specific trios of players. It's the Pythagorean.
