Absolutely.

Technically it makes no difference whatsoever. As long as your driver was signed up he or she was in the pool to be signed. They had the chance to be signed the entire time.

Writing good RPs and making an effort will increase your chances of being selected by a team. It will also increase your chances of winning races.

We are almost fully booked for season 13, with just four seats remaining.

One seat remains at Telaris (SJG), one at Archer (BAU), and two remain at Synclair (TCU).

Lauren Ashburton (BAU), Adrian Klaassen (NDL), Scotty Tucker (MNG), Roger Bunn (TCU), Zeek Altrimar (ZMC), Oliver Bliss (TAE), Riku Äijälä (NMA) and Ujkan Sadiraj (RPX) have been RP'd but do not currently have teams. Assuming Rapoxha/Buyan are on hiatus, as they said in the World Cup Discussion Thread, that leaves seven drivers to fill the four remaining spots.

For the users behind the above drivers, RPing will increase the likelihood that your driver will be selected by a team.

Should your driver not be selected, there may still be an opportunity to get a drive later on.

Cut-off for Friday practice will be at 10pm UTC this Friday. Cut-off for Saturday's qualifying period will be 10pm UTC on Saturday. Cut-off for Sunday's race will be at 10pm UTC on Sunday. Cut-offs will probably remain at these times every weekend.

There may be delays this week, as I have RL issues, but there shouldn't be any delays in the coming weeks.

Friday practice will consist of the drivers having 90 minutes to complete a maximum of 20 laps of the track. Only the fastest lap will be recorded.

Saturday Qualifying will consist of drivers having 90 minutes to set a fastest lap, from a maximum of 10 laps of the track. Only the fastest lap will be recorded.

Sunday's Race will be held over 52 laps. The amount of laps in other races may change.

Some IC Rules / RPing tips for race-day:
* No refuelling is allowed. Cars must carry enough fuel at the start of the race to last until the end of the race. Teams may use a fuel management system that allows the driver to control how much fuel their car is using during the race
* Teams may use five different types of tyre on a race weekend: Wets, Intermediates, Hard, Soft and Super-soft (the latter has a half-life of about five laps and is used primarily for qualifying). Up to two sets of each tyre can be used by each team. A team opting for a 'soft' tyre would probably need to make three pit-stops in a race. A team opting for the 'hard' tyre might only need to make one.
* Any intentionally dangerous driving will be met with some kind of punishment. If you RP that your driver intentionally causes an accident, that driver may be docked points. Or the driver might get away with it. Or the driver's sponsors might use bribes to get out of it. What we're saying is this: the line between OOC rules and IC rules is fairly thin in the WGPC.
* In the event of a crash, that area of the course may be 'yellow flagged', meaning cars may not overtake until the situation is cleared
* In the event of a serious crash, a safety car may be deployed for a few laps. Whether a safety car is needed or not for a crash is up to the RPers.
* TV crews are allowed on the starting grid to try to steal interviews with the drivers.
* The teams are arranged in alphabetical order in the pit-lane, meaning Archer's garage is the first one you pass in the pit-lane and Telaris Racing's is the last.
* Drivers are awarded 25 points for a win, 18 for second, 14 for third, 10 for fourth, 8 for fifth, 6 for sixth, 4 for seventh, 3 for eighth, 2 for ninth and 1 for tenth place.
* Constructors points are totaled by adding the sum total of their two drivers for the season.

Following from a bafflingly high amount of 'confirmation' posts in which the user confirms nothing and, instead, reels off a list of 'ifs' and 'buts' and 'untils' and 'maybes' about the future of their driver/team depending on an incomprehensible web of hypothetical future situations, I am instigating a new rule, which I am calling the 'shit or get off the pot' rule.

When a user makes or accepts an offer, any use of a modifying term (ie 'if', 'but', 'or', 'until', 'unless' etc) or any uncertainty whatsoever in an official offer to a driver or team will result in that user's RP bonus being reset to zero indefinitely. I will also visit that user's house and slap them in the face.

With the exception of IC things like 'but only if the driver gets a hair cut' or something like that.

The 'temporary' acquisitions by Frontiere, ATR and ENSADRINK GP for the pre-season practice have been made 'official' in the first post of this thread, where you'll find an as-up-to-date-as-possible run-down of which driver is where. Any changes need to be put in bold in the RP thread. No buts.

To what extent can I RP Hodori's driver on my team? Is there an etiquette in this situation? Can I RP her thoughts/feelings about the car/race/team, etc, or should I leave that up to Hodori?

There are no 'RP permissions' in the WGPC. How thoroughly you RP another driver on your team is up to you. You can get a general feel for their personality via reading their previous RPs or, if you're conscious about being accurate, TGing the user behind the driver.

Don't be afraid to get creative with your RPs about cars, codrivers, opposing teams and such. There are no RP penalties except for ones that involve ridiculous levels of godmodding. If a user has reservations they can either leave a message in this thread, TG you or write an RP'd rebuttal ('correcting' a foreign news report, giving their own driver's opinion on what happened etc).

As for San Lleran driver Marcel Tenìs, I'll put him into the driver registration list as soon as I have time, but bear in mind that, while The Calanian Union is still not involved due to RL issues, there are no vacant driver positions.

Han, I've been here for over a decade, and that's the first time I've felt uncomfortable reading an RP. I think, considering recent events in RL F1, perhaps RPing the crash in this manner is a little "too soon" for my tastes. Just feels...wrong, somehow.

Apologies if my RP is sounding a bit heavily forced, this is my first time doing a proper scandal-y thing, and I don't know if what I'm doing is good or not.

Hello,
I know I already long-missed the cutoff for signing up. However, I am planning on joining for the next season, with both a team and a track. Would it be alright if I joined the RP for this season, but only as a spectator? Like, my nation's leader is watching the races, and planning on building a track back home, or something. and no, any rp'ing i would do obviously wouldn't count towards me for the 14 season. just want do do it for fun!

I can't see anything wrong with it, but you'll probably have to check with the organisers.

Just giving my opinion, and it's probably true. Do people not like me or something because if someone else had said that, they probably would have been praised as right. Everything I say, even if totally legitimate, seems to be ridiculed.
At least I gave a reply, not very many people have bothered.

Now then.

Mobbius: You're more than welcome to RP. You can even make a driver sign-up if you wish. Most teams want drivers from nations/users who are keen to RP, as RPing heavily gives your driver/team a better chance of doing well. I don't know how many, if any, teams will want to sign your guy/girl up, but you're welcome to register them.

In fact, now might be the perfect time because...

Everyone: The WGPC will now embark on a two-week, mid-season hiatus. The hiatus coincides with an OOC weekend away for me followed by my move back to Italy, so I won't be around on the weekends to scorinate.

RPs written during the mid-season break will have twice the effect of a regular RP, so get your brains working and your keyboard hands warmed up (ie 'your hands').
