Postby Sofnikos Anaxaux » Mon Jan 18, 2010 7:17 pm

The Most Serene Republic of Sofnikos Anaxaux submits for consideration in this wonderful tradition of 22 striking individuals getting up on some tetragonal piece turf to kick around balls for 90 odd minutes, arbitrated by 4 other odd individuals. For this edition, we wish to submit the following for consideration.

Manager:
Nikolas Mancelli - A stern-faced man from the post office, he certainly looks like the kind of man to run a football team. Officially, he's the best stamp-licker around, and he knows how to get things moving in any office. Other candidates included former football player Leon Gargos, former football manager Demos Karpoides, and former anti-football protestor Hagis Nouman. Clearly the best choice available.

Goalkeepers:
Yianni Michelaides - Another stern-faced man from a different post office. He's the guy who catches all of the packages thrown into the office by this wonderful machine, designed to increase efficiency by 109.3%. Oddly, consumer complaints about the delivery of fragile objects has likewise increased 98.4%. In the name of progress however, we will keep him in his spot until we can find someone else to catch all of those packages.

Lisandro Marcos - Random hobo we picked off the street. He knows a thing or two about nets. He knows more about picking noses surreptitiously tbh.

Defenders:
Giorgios Manx - Weird chap. Known throughout his life as a tackler. He tackles problems as easily as he tackles people. And this sport has the best to offer in terms of tackling. Oh, wait... that's a different sport, isn't it? Crap...

Nico Chisce - Hooray! Nico is our savior, and he's going to be the best player of the tournament! Well, from SFX anyway. By the way, you like our new flag? He designed it! He's really smart, we guarantee you that! Oh crap... this isn't a chess tournament...

Dante Hyyyyypos - Anyone with that many "y"s in their name clearly must be good. Unless he's a horrible speller or the auditor can't read his writing. Luckily, football does not discriminate against poor spellers, but they do discriminate against 14-year-old entrepreneurial lemonade-selling boys.

Paolino Archansa - Operatic tenor, plays violin, mandolin, piano, Han geum-jin, and the banzobolino. Definitely one of those musical type fellows, his voice is so serene and nice, even you wouldn't mind stopping along to listen to him sing.

Cirillo Chiros - Routinely forgets which hand is his right hand, despite there being one of two options; has the same problem with his feet.

Spyro Giamannis - He's insane. He's also a leading candidate for the Phaosthopolos Mayor. Clearly a great footballer.

Midfielders:
Eratosthenes Megalonis - No relation to the other dude, but he's quite intelligent himself. He individually calculated the distance between his mouth and his anus, using nothing but a 14-meter long piece of silver wire. Incidentally, his digestive system is out of whack.

Arrigo Arrivarci - Despite his name, he's almost always late getting there. But he's got a great dive! Surely, that's got to count for something!

Aniketos Telosphthneikos - The only person who routinely plays football with his two-year-old, although his two-year-old is a better player than he is tbh... Notwithstanding his talent, his name will give the Vephrese a run to the hills.

Peppi Peperone - No... that's not "pepperoni", that's "pepper". Nonetheless, he's the son of a famous pizzeria down in Phaosthopolos, who cooks up some mean pepperoni pizze. Oh right, football team... Zantac anyone?

Massimiliano Maserati - He's a sports-lover who was handed the first opportunity to play a sport. Once he discovered what sports are, he suddenly changed his mind about loving sports, but he's still on the team. Lucky brat... Occasionally, he goes by the name "Maxi" for obvious reasons (actually, not so obvious... why does he do that?)

Eustachos Chiros - Not related to the other Chiros (and that's not cereal, btw), but he's a very adept yoga practitioner. He can apparently touch his nose using his feet from behind his back.

Hiram Beta - He's actually an android. Hiram Alpha failed his conceptualizing test and spontaneously exploded, so this is a great test to see if Hiram Beta won't spectacularly explode (and if he does, how well he controls the explosion).

Strikers:
Ruocco Giuocco - He's an Olympic diver. And no, we don't mean he competes for the Olympics - he's from Olimpos, some suburb of the Sofnikos Anaxaux. But he does have a great dive nonetheless.

Alexios Aresthatos - He's not a great diver, he's not a great striker, he's not a great player, and he's not really much good for anything. But he does have great feet. He makes his living letting people grovel at his feet, which are believed to cure everything from polio to bovine spongiform encephalopathy to Dallas-fixation syndrome (yes, we mean those Jeruselemite whores). Just imagine what people will do to grovel the balls he kicks!

Ugo Ylgos - Another random hobo we picked off the street. According to the MAD, we should have a symbolic representation of the people in Sofnikos Anaxaux. Anyway, his specialty is shorts. Specifically eating them.

Also, you did not a random non-Rushmori nation post here just moments before...
Following new legislation, the Sofnikos Anaxaux Mental Asylum Party have recently won seats in parliament.
===
It's official - we're insane.

Nation: Somewhereistonia
Team Nickname: Eagles
Style Modifier: +3
Formation: 4-1-3-2
Home stadium: Spektakl-3-Arena

Kit:
ImageKeeper Kit Image2nd Keeper Kit

Image1st Kit Image2nd Kit Image3rd Kit

Manager: Sir George Douglas (That crazy guy from Dariusville, you know, pink ponies? Yer HIM.)
Assistant Manager: Benjamin Oliveira (Continues to coach A.F.F. of Cafundeu despite his new position. A top quality manager).
Head Physio: Gustav Tolving (Owner of a sports physio centre outside Qasarian, he has shown a brilliant ability to bring players back from injury sooner than expected).

Well, a few changes to the World Cup squad, which so narrowly missed out on a place in the world cup. Perhaps lots of crazy stuff will happen in the meantime. I wouldn't put it past this lot either, this is coming from a nation that used llamas as weapons.... and giant mousetraps, and alligators.... ok I'll shut up now. Nah, actually I won't. I'm going to talk about blowing massive channels through southern Rushmore with nukes so that we don't have to so far around. It's perfectly safe see because the water... drink red wine if you live in the affected areas. ;)

Team roster. Positions shown within [square brackets]

First 11
1. Svante Klug, 31 [GK]. Klug has been a member of the Dinamo Karrkiv squad from age 16 and has already established himself as one of the best keepers in the Meistriliiga (the first division).
2. Jurgis Ģipslis, 31 FB [Radyukevich]. After leaving Vetra Karrakiv for Radyukevich of Candelaria And Marquez, the sturdy full-back has struggled to make a name for himself, and looks to be on the move again in the near future.
3. Ulriks Hellat, 25 [DF]. The Sparta defender has become a great squad player and is hoping to succeed in the long term at the top club.
4.Kasper Grinius, 28 [RCB]. Grinius has finally moved up to become a first choice player, with Lurich having retired from international football. He has shown strength and determination, even when let down by his other defenders.
5. Romualdas Sokk, 28 [RB]. The Qasarian Sparta right-back has had another consistent season and will hope to again replicate this at the world cup.
6. Gintaras Cashunko, 23 [DMF]. The midfielder is an instant fit for the now retired Paposki. Cashunko is a citizen of Ida Balak, an area that will likely remain part of Somewhereistonia following the elections. Cashunko is a target for several Meistrliiga teams but currently plays for Volodiscow Resistance, a team with revolutionary hints even to the least aware.
7. Vincas Taska, 26 [RMF]. The young star of the Dinamo team, voted MIP for 2 seasons running. Quick of the mark and able to cross dangerously, he can trouble even the most experience LB.
8. Vytautas Törk [VC], 27 [MF]. A long term bench warmer for the national team, with Keres' fitness not as high as it once was, Törk gained a first team place during the world cup qualifiers, with Keres usually either being subbed off or on the the dangerous midfielder. The $20m rated Royal Khaldoon midfielder is a key part of this teams attack.
14. Kazys Xentolov, 23 [Fwd]. He recently scored a record 44 goals for Metalurgs in one season of the Meistrliiga. A huge threat to any team. Xentolov was instrumental in winning the last two titles for Metalurgs.
11. Mart Kusnets, 25 [SS]. The talented striker has shown himself to be something of an enigma is the Empire charity cup, scoring in the first 3 games, including an incredible winner against Secristan. Qasarian Sparta have thus far managed to keep the striker in the wave of bids from other local clubs. Kusnets now has a strong reputation of scoring amazing goals, just when they are needed.
13. Vladimir Nolakk [C], 29 [LMF]. The hardworking Bradford United midfielder has proven himself throughout his career, establishinghimself as a leading figure. He can play in most areas of midfield. As another of the nations foreign based players, he has received some criticism from national fans.

Subs:

9. Arak Nokk, 22 [Fwd]. The Valodiscow Resistance forward is expected to become a solid performer off the bench for the Eagles. Expect a few substitute goals from this guy.
10. Ąžuolas Antanas, 24 [Wing]. The ISC Rig captain was a late addition to the squad. Following the club's convincing promotion to the Meistrliiga he has begun to be scouted by many top sides in the division. Although he may only get limited appearances, his addition to the squad will give Somewhereistonia and extra threat of the bench. Something that Alekna did not quite seem to have.
12. Karela Hanaterisana, 25 [GK]. A former Norwellian, being non-genderqueer he was subject to some abuse in his home country, since his move to Somewhereistonia at the age of 17, he has enjoyed high levels of success at Ventspils Redwings and after gaining citizenship has finally won selection to the national squad.
15. August Vanka, 19 [CB]. [Ventspils Bluewings]. An up and coming talent, thought to be a long term replacement for Grinius. He still shows his inexperience at times and is a bit of a surprise selection.
16. Alexis Birsa, 22 SS/SMF [Atlantas Klaipaada]. The player was snapped up by Atlantas from Hawks on his 16th birthday for an incredible $11m, showing just how much potential Birsa has. Two years on, he has yet to hold down an international place; having lacked consistency in the league although this is clearly becoming more threatening.
17. Dimitri Zaks, 16 [FB]. A solid defender for Kabano Zeppelin, Zaks has shown his ability to perform at the top level, despite only having played one season in the Meistrliiga.
18. Petras Zoltoks, 28 [CF]. The aging Nowy Orpington striker has previously struggled to gain a place in the national team, this was before his move to Quintessence of Dust, where he has made a great impression.
19. Justinas Kaiser, 27 [MF]. [Olympia Gladiators (NEW)] - Kaiser has had mixed success in his career, until his move away to Newmanistan he was on the fringes of the national squad, now with Keres having retired, he has a place.
20. Jüri Pihl CB 23 [Qasarian Sparta] - Pihl is expected to work well with his club team mate Hellat at the back in league games, there are still some frailties in the pairing, and Pihl is yet to establish his national team career.
21. Oleksandr Pääbo Wing 27 [Dinamo Karrakiv] - Whilst not achieving the success of Taska, Pääbo is a tough player to mark and can be deadly coming off the bench.
22. Toomas Uexküll, 27 DMF [Ventspils Redwings]. A sturdy holding player for the redwings, he has played a large part in Ventspils recent successes. A successful Di Bradini Cup has helped him win a place in the world cup squad.
23. Klass Oim, 28 [GK]. Hey, this guy is still playing in Cafundeu, funny that. I think he moved somewhere else, might have to check that.

If my opponent RP's first they can:

Midfield:
#43- Randhir Nedzanani, Age: 19. Starter. Very agile and gets the call to start despite young age.
#49- Jaisukh Pattnaik, Age: 30. Starter. Used as a sixth defender often.
#48- Avinash Singh, Age: 27. Starter. He is our Mister Everything and the Captain.
#47- Uddunath Siddharth-Nabhendu, Age: 29. Starter. Aggressive but also has a nice shot.
#46- Pritam Gupta, Age: 28. Starter. Impressive two-way player.
#42- Naman Gandhi, Age: 22. Sub. Despite surname he has serious character issues. Was reserve last time.
#44- Pradeep Kokradi, Age: 25. Sub. Has a lot of speed.
#45- Sabal Karnataka, Age: 32. Reserve. Downgraded from starter.

Forwards:
#65- Jaival Subudhi, Age: 21- Starter. Him and Nedzanani look to connect for goals often. Plays in Candelaria And Marquez now.
#63- Devdarsh Panigrahi, Age: 31- Sub. Is not happy about being taken out of starting lineup.
#64- Bhupad Ahuwalia, Age: 28- Reserve. Downgraded from substitute.
#62- Kapoor Wamankar, Age: 32- Reserve. Hopes to get some playing time.

We weren't actually invited -- presumably because you couldn't find us -- but intend to turn up anyway... ;)

We'll let you play, but just because of your Rushmore...ness..., but we're uneasy with you being a rogue nation... just try not to upset the mice.

The team representing Queer Poco el Mono Ara at the Copa Rushmori

Coach – Joseph Hamburgstein – put together a very solid World Cup campaign and guided the Whites to third in the group despite the roller coaster of results the team accrued. Big wins against Daehanjeiguk and Silexhera were added to with defeats against lowly Arkinesa and Teletropis. Hamburgstein’s WC qualifying attempt was followed by a disastrous Cup of Harmony and 3 points in only 5 games. He has shown he can get the lads fired up for the big games and take points but when the going gets tough and a result is expected The Whites have floundered. With the competition being hosted in Queer Poco more is expected of the coach while in front of the home fans.

Starting XI.

#1 Gkp. Petr Ollic – Copa Rushmori II will be Ollic’s international swansong. The first name in the team sheet for years is finally hanging up his boots at 36 as such expect him to give the performance of his life.

#2 RB. Tamir el Zahar
– Zahar has made the number 2 shirt his own. For a defender his tackling is a little poor but he makes up for this with his attacking presence. The 28 year old likes to bomb up and down the wings in support of the attack.

# 3 LB. Ousmane Kaka – He’s fast and can bomb up and down the wings adding to the White’s attacking options.

#4 DM. Ruud Seedorf – the midfield enforcer is back in the team after missing out on the World Cup. He’s a tough tackler and likes to hang back while the other players attack.

#5 *CAP* Tomasz Poborsky – The national team and Royal Khaldoon captain is a model centreback tall and powerful with a sensible head on his shoulders. A natural leader Poborsky bleeds Queer Poco and will always strive to lead his team to the next level. The captain has been pushed back into a sweeper position.

#6 CB. Ahmed Khan –The former Under 21’s player has recently made a move to Cafundeu on the back of his international performances. He’s a good tackler and distributes the ball well.

#7 RM. Hugo Anderson – The midfield starlet failed to live up to his hype on his return to the international scene. Blistering pace and a bag of tricks and only 21 years old the world is at the feet of Anderson who plays over in Candelaria and Marquez.

#8 CM. Dean Bowyer – Another member of the international setup who is over in Cafundeu. He’s not the fastest player on the pitch but makes up for it with sublime vision and an eye for goal being Queer Poco’s current top scoring midfielder at international level.

#9 FWD. Ishmael Van Dyke – The White’s top scorer and talismanic forward Van Dyke is a powerful target man with goals galore to his name. He’s great during corners making the most of his height and strength but he’s equally as good with the ball at his feet.

#10 FWD. Enrico Dossena – The former Pythons front pairing now find themselves abroad. He’s been working on bulking up lately to make more of an impact around the box.

#11 LM. Frank Le Tissier – Le Tissier is back in the first team. He’s a proven international and is often employed on the left wing despite being a central midfielder by trade.

Subs.

#12 CB. Rudolpho - A firm tackler who rarely puts a foot wrong he’s since been dropped to the bench with Hamburgstein’s switch back to a traditional 4-4-2.

#13 GKP. Christopher Foster – The 25 year old returns to the squad despite being relegated with Valengren Kickers. He’s agile and has good reactions but is prone to “rushes of blood to the head” and can occasionally be caught out of position.

#14 FWD. Lionel Vega – Currently playing in Newmanistan, Vega is a good striker with a reputation for finding goals in the league however he has failed to transfer this prowess to scoring for the international side. Would be expected to make an impact off the bench.

#15 MD.– Hidalgo – As Jonastown have improved as has this winger, at 30 he’s the oldest player to be receiving their first call up to the national team. He’s a freekick maestro and good on the ball, will be chomping at the bit to get on the pitch, especially in front of the home crowd.

#16 MD. Jordi – The 19 year old is a surprise inclusion, considering he has made only 2 starts since arriving at Royal Khaldoon. Good things are expected of him but it may be too soon to call him up to the full national squad.

Reserves
17. DEF. Andrea Di Vaio - Augustus
18. DEF. Ollie Clark - Pythons
19. MID. Walter Ibaniez -
20. DEF. Joel Craddock – Royal Khaldoon
21. MID. Adailton – Royal Khaldoon
22. GKP. Roy James - Augustus
23. STR. Frederico – Pythons

Home Kit - In the grand tradition of being poor hosts, we're only going to be playing in our home kit during the tournament.

OOC: Virabia TG QPeMA or go on the RMB just to keep this thread clear as much as possible.

National Association of Recreational Football (Miceland)

Team Style: +1

Team Manager: Pinksford HeadMouse
Couch:Brian TeamMouse

Strikers:

#12 Richard LionMouse - Club: MouseCentral United

Richard LionMouse is one of the best striker's in Miceland, he usually has a very direct approach but he's got very good footwork so if you're not 'on the ball' so to speak he'll wrong foot you, get in behind you and score a goal. He is a very honourable mouse on the field and tries his best to keep a clean sheet. While he does on the occasion slip up, afterwards he feels as if he has let down the team. This applies to off field circumstances as well.

#16 Peter YellowMouse - Club: Beachside FC

Peter has a rare family trait, he's totally yellow. It's been passed down the family through generations often one even 2 generations before re-appearing. Peter obviosly had a hard time in school and took sport as an escape. He's very touchy about the colour and if there's even a hint of people being colourists (as he likes to call it) then he gets all worked up about it. This can cause some rather unpleasant situations but for the most part the team, especially with his fellow striker whom they have a friendly competitive thing going on.

Midfielders:

#25 Hector von DresdenMaus - Club: Grassland AFC

Having settled in a German speaking land for some time Hector von DresdenMaus is one of the few Mäuse in Miceland. The family has kept some german traditions including some of the german sausages and speaking with an out-rageously incorrect German accent. Though he is a very good midfielder fast and a strong understanding of tactics from countless hours training as a youngster.

#29 Renée GupterMouse - Club: MouseCentral United

Renée is one of the females of the team, and she is not French and she goes to great measures to make that point. Despite being in the same club for years and a close personal friendship with Richard LionMouse they share no romantic interest though they are often the subject wild rumours on this subject.

#24 Frederick RassMouse - Club: Rasstern FC

From an old and prominent Miceland family Frederick has been disowned because of his decision to become a footballer expressly against the wishes of his family. Despite this he still has a myriad of personal contacts and businesses of his own (even not-so-secretly owning the Rasstern FC club. Though the operations are handled by the FC's board to avoid any operational bias. He is wealthy and is at least known amung the upper echeleon of Miceland society.

#28 Damien GibMouse - Club: Underhill City

Having a city in a cave seems odd, but it's such as good a location as any other and for Damien it was the perfect place to learn football. He started playing with small pebbles slightly larger and oddly shaped for a soccer ball. The pebbles are much harder and heavier than traditional footballs and so on doctors advice he took up the sport as replacement. He soon found he had tremendous kick and passing abilities

Defenders:

#36 Michael DisneyMouse - Club: HappyPlains United

HappyPlains is quite an idealyc spot lush green grass one thing it's good for is playing football, and coming from there Michael had an early education in football. Despite being a very happy and personable bloke both off and on the field. He's not afraid to take you done if you threaten the goal but he doesn't do it with any kind of malice after all the HappyPlains area is known for it's soft grass.

#32 Trent LoveMouse - Club: HappyPlains United

Something is just weird in HappyPlains, and it's name is mope, or mouse dope. A drug that does not affect humans in any way shape or form but is practically the same as it's human cousin in every other sense but for mice only. This was discovered by Trent LoveMouse, and when smoked it generates lot of smoke. Trent LoveMouse is a walking mouse smokescreen.

#35 Danielle RedMouse - Club: Clifftop AFC

Danielle's family aren't named for their colour their named for their fiery passion, everything they do they do it passionately. Red is the colour of passion and this is her name, unlike the previous defenders Danielle is fiery in her defense she takes out those in her way with passion and is the teams most yellow-carded player of the team. She has been remoured to have been intimate with all her teammates even Reneé but everyone publicly denies this. She is a great defender and don't you dare get on her badside or otherwise she will give pain.

#33 Robert FredMouse - Club: Beachside FC

Taking the standard mice playing football asside, Robert is fairly boring, nothing really makes him standard out fairly average in most ways not too goody, not too bad not an amazing defender, but good enough to seal a place on the team. There is no single attribute where Robert is signficantly different from the standard. If anything could be said about he's a nice guy if you get to know him, and that's about it.

Keeper:

#42 Charles EarsMouse - Club: Clifftop City

Charles has extremely large ears and is able to control them in a limited way as an additional set of hands. The big wind catchers can not only help him fill more of the goal but they also help him determine where the ball is and what is happening to it through Trent's mope haze.

Candelaria And Marquez ‘B’

It shouldn’t exist. Not again. It serves no purpose. It’s embarrassing. It shouldn’t have been allowed to come back at all, never mind for a second outing in as many cycles. What are the powers that be thinking, for heaven’s sake?

And it stars Max Beasley, an’ all. That’s just unforgivable.

One may say much the same things about C&M ‘B’, however; with the Medium-Sized Blues handed over to semi-permanent under-21 boss Ancil Liebeskind. With the World Cup champions clearly the competition’s biggest draw – if we do say so ourselves, hem-hem – the CAMAFA are plainly playing with fire with this piss-poor twenty-three, one that risks still further the organisation’s international reputation. Frankly, anyone would think we were just out to mock our many and varied neighbours. It’s all so wrist-slittingly dim-witted, and I want no further part of it.

Anyway. Four-four-two, probably. -1, if it really matters. And do whatever the hell you want, bitches.

Apart from moider folk, and such.

Manager - Toomas Ergma (Somewhereistonia) - Toomas Ergma's debut with the Toyuri national side was a bit of a mixed bag, to be honest. After a dreadful start that saw Toyur not pick up a win in their first three matches in the Cup of Harmony, two wins and some fortunate results put the Bears into the knockout stages of that tournament, losing quickly to eventual third place team Aguazul. Ergma has, fortunately, the Copa Rushmori to further tinker with his side and get to know his team and get his tactics straight. It's for that reason that the Bears will be sending a full squad to the event, the first such participation for the Bears in the regional championship. A number of footballing powerhouses are from Rushmore, but Ergma will be trying his best to get the most out of the Bears in what looks to be a tough group.

Copa Rushmori II - Copa Rushmorier

The Sargossa Corsairs

Kit
Thank you ediraf

Coach

José Felipe Cassumba Domingos (Candelaria And Marquez)
Ask anyone in the Archipelago and you'll get the same answer, 'Cassa' is the man. Sure his side may have tailed off in the world cup qualifiers but victory at Cup of Harmony 41made up for that in spades. Yes his passport says Candelariasian but we all have our crosses to bear.

Staff

Ferran Higuera and Vicente García, Cassa'a trusted lieutenants at Sporting San Marquez, form the backbone of his backroom staff. Former Caires City teammate Shane Avdeev continues to work with the defence and Dr Eduardo Marquez keeps the players in one piece, mostly.

Starting Eleven
(Formation 4-2-3-1. Style Modifier = +2. Players listed from right to left)

GK: 1. Martin Tejera (25) – Cruzeiro do Sul (Cafundéu) (81 Caps)
It's quite hard to picture anyone else between the sticks for a Sargossan national side. Of course playing regular club football in Cafundéu helps.

RB: 2. Germán Moya (29) – Deportivo Soluca (4 Caps)
Former El Nacional defender who captained Deportivo Soluca to a surprise SuperLiga title last season.
CB: 6. Alberto Torres (28) – Sporting San Marquez (12 Caps / 0 Goals)
A no nonsense centreback who came into the side at the Cup of Harmony to form an imposing barrier alongside Néstor González.
CB: 5. Néstor González (29) – El din Marbles (Candelaria And Marquez) (83 Caps / 5 Goals) - Captain
Regarded as one of the best defenders to have come out of the archipelago for many a long year. The first Sargossan to make the move to the CMSC and now captain of his club side.
LB: 3. José Blanco (25) – Ciudad Soluca (49 Caps) / 2 Goals)
Quietly goes about his business on the left of defence for domestic giants Ciudad and for the national side. Offers a good supply from the left.

DMC: 4. Francisco Lillo (26) – Dynamo Kalinsk (Dancougar) (67 Caps / 1 Goal)
Lillo may be a carthorse among thoroughbreds but he'll get stuck in like a good 'un. When in doubt, kick it. Seems to be his motto. Seems to work too.
DMC: 14. José Luis Borrás (25) – Sporting San Marquez (25 Caps / 0 Goals)
Tackle, win the ball, pass the ball. And repeat for the next ninety minutes.

AMC: 8. Diego Lara (22) – Sporting San Marquez (45 Caps / 12 Goals)
Good passing, excellent technique and a shot like the kick of a mule makes Lara popular with the fans. Admittedly, hitting the winner against Candelaria And Marquez in the Copa Rushmori I semi final didn't hurt either.
AMC: 7. Marcos García Fernández (26) – Sporting Kildare (Dancougar) (84 Caps / 14 Goals)
A hugely talented playmaker who almost single footedly kept a poor Jaguarés side in the SuperLiga. Since his move to Dancougar the midfield maestro has arguably matured into the nation’s finest player. With a range of passing that can unlock any defence and an eye for goal, including a memorable effort against the much vaunted Starblaydis.
AMC: 17. Jésus Vazquez (24) – Clube Comercial (Cafundéu) (8 Caps / 0 Goals)
There was always a suspicion that Vazquez was a bit good. And his inspiration form for Deportivo Soluca helped the capitol club to their first SuperLiga title. Barely had the celebrations finished when he was jetting off to Cafundéu. Lucky chap.

SC: 9. Ernesto Fariás (30) – International de Penderia (Cafundéu) (73 Caps / 48 Goals)
The nation's top scorer again provides the greatest goal threat. A regular for International in Cafundéu's top division and one of only two Sargossans to have netted at the World Cup finals. Provided of course he has the energy after recent long domestic and international campaigns

Reserves
GK: 13. Javier Meléndez (25) – NAPPC (Nethertopia) (0 Caps)
GK: 24. Mariano Ojeda (22) – Dunas Del Sol (11 Caps)
DC: 21. Manuel Panadero (26) – Dover City Mountaineers (Newmanistan) (13 Caps)
DLC: 15. Óscar Leal (25) – Porto Alegro Azul (5 Caps)
DRC: 18. Jorge Alberto Carmona (24) – King’s Eleven Yuki City (Dancougar) (20 Caps ) / 1 Goal)
D/DMR: 22. Juan Calderón (29) – Deportivo Cordova (19 Caps)
DMC: 16. Rafael Balbo (30) – Skyte City (Queer Poco el Mono Ara) (45 Caps)
MLC: 11. Francisco Cuesta (25) – NAPPC (Nethertopia) (10Caps )
MC: 27. Ricardo Osorio (23) – Bradford United (Dancougar) (17 Caps)
AML: 23. Daniel Bravo (27) – El Nacional (18 Caps / 5 Goals)
AMRLC: 25. Marcelo Cobían (28) – Ciudad Soluca (38 Caps / 6 Goals)
AM/FRLC: 10. Alberto Herráez (29) – El din Marbles (Candelaria And Marquez) (54 Caps / 11 Goals)
SC: 19. Daniel González Rodríguez (25) – NAPPC (Nethertopia) (30 Caps/ 12 Goals)
SC: 20. Sérgio Costa (20) – Pythons (Queer Poco el Mona Ara) (0 Caps)
SC: 26. Gaston Batista (30) – Skyte City (Queer Poco el Mono Ara) (33 Caps / 11 Goals)

Team Nickname: The Dragoons
Style Modifier: +2
Formation: 4-2-2-2
Home stadium: Vitsyebsk Rahvustaadion

Kit:

Manager: Kazys Papolov (Somewhereistonian coach, formerly of Koltelcia and Qasarian City, the manager makes his first attempt at coaching an international squad).
Assistant Manager: Kukas Skormilonski (Former star striker for the Eagles, Skormilonski makes his first move into management with Malak).

A new nation! Freed men from Malak! Explosions and new players and stuff!

Team roster. Positions shown within [square brackets]

First 11
1. Marc Ogiński, 23 [GK]. The Vitsyebsk FK keeper has become a target for several Meistrilliga clubs in recent weeks as he shows promise to perform well on the national stage. Ogiński is now on his way to Krytenian side, Avidia City.
2. Mikhail Dukelsky, 22 [LWB]. Vitsyebsk FK --> Bandeirantes
3. Vladimir Asimov, 26 [RWB]. Dinamo Byrsk --> Atlantea Hurricanes [Taeshan]
4. Alexis Wurka, 24 [LCB] *Captain*. A sturdy central defender from the Malak region of former Kyrin territories. After being selected for the Somewhereistonian Cup of Harmony 41 squad, Wurka is seen as perhaps the best prospect for this young team. He did play for Malak side, Energas FK but it has now been announced that he will move to Sargossan side, Deportivo Cordova.
5. Maksim Bałachonaŭ, 18 [RCB]. Torpedo Vitsyebsk --> Mercadel S.C. [Sargossa]

Some random news TV program, must be one of the smaller networks or something. SSTV or something. Sports news time!

TVguy1-It's time for the Copa Rushmori!

TVguy2-O rly?

TVguy1-Indeed it is, and who are we going to get in our groups?

TVguy2-They have already been made y'know.

TVguy1-Yeah, I know but I was trying to build suspense or something so it would sound better when I revealed who are in the Eagle's group.

TVguy2-Well, it's kinda annoying and cheesy, don't do it!

TVguy1-But it sells...

TVguy2-Shurrup and reveal the groups!

TVguy1-OK, first of all the Eagles are drawn against Pasarga. Now, we beat Pasarga 4-0 in the semis last Copa Rushmori but this team are not likely to be a pushover all the time. A real threat in this tournament.

TVguy2- Who's next then?

TVguy1-I thought you didn't like all the suspense stuff?

TVguy2-I don't actually know, you have the list.

TVguy1-Oh. Well next is Tentalon.

TVguy2-Ah, Tentalon. A big nation is southern Rushmore. Part of where the canal building/river dredging will go through for the Trans-Rushmore Canal. Never competed in an international football tournament before, it'll be interesting to see how well they do.

TVguy1-How do you know so much and still don't know the groups for the draw?

TVguy2-Because I do and because I don't have that sheet. Now read out the next name.

TVguy1-Next is Oberour Ar Moro.

TVguy2-Dmitri Natus, that crazy guy is their manager. Not a bad team really, they had a good run in the last BoF, so an up and coming team. A threat, but certainly a game the Eagles should be winning.

TVguy1-Last up is Logria.

TVguy2-Logria are an interesting team. They are not even signing up to the World Cup! Not exactly a team you'd imagine to be a threat, but it's hard to know.

TVguy1-Fantastic, we've managed to fill the time. Bye folks!

<Beddgelert> if that were true, i'd never have woken up with pockets full of ketchup
<Nth|Tableinating> Oi, my slow semen have nothing to do with this conversation!

Nation: The Hidden Paw
Team nickname: 'The Great Hunt'

Manager: Harrubearr DeWhite (male Ursine, very light-brown fur, elderly, eloquent)

Team Doctor: Berrins ThunderBear (male Ursine, youngish adult, dark brown fur, wears heavy glasses and often wears a white 'lab' coat over his ordinary clothes, doesn't talk much)

Kits: 'Home' = all white (except Goalkeeper's, which is dark gray)
'Away' = all black (except Goalkeeper's, which is light gray)

Style modifier: balanced, essentially ±0 (although if the host is willing then this goes to +1 against any team whose style is -2.5 or lower / -1 against any team whose style is +2.5 or higher...)

Normal formation: 3-4-3

RP permissions: Anything that's reasonable or funny, but don't get too many of them red-carded at a time; however their doctor can "magically" fix most injuries almost immediately, and most other injuries before their next game... and two of the players, namely 'Sable' & 'Scarrlett', are basically indestructible to any hazards to which they're at all likely to be exposed in these circumstances anyway.

Yes, they're all Ursines, although unlike the teams from Bears Armed they're males rather than females. They're generally closer to the 'human' end of the anthropomorphism scale than most of BA's people, less massive but more agile than those, and --- except in any specific cases where I indicate otherwise -- have eyesight within the normal human range.
Also unlike the teams from BA, these players are quite likely to cheat if they think that there's something worthwhile to be gained by doing so and that they have a reasonable chance of getting away with it. To use an analogy based on the Harry Potter' books, if BA is 'Hufflepuffs' -- which I think would be a fairly common view abroad -- or even (at least by their own estimation) 'Gryffindors' then THP tends to be more... well... 'Slytherins'...
(Why a 'Harry Potter' analogy, you ask? Well, remember, this is one of the nations that managed to field a team for NS's first 'Quidditch World Cup': Don't worry, though, they have a strict "No wands inside sporting venues" rule for everybody except sports associations' officials and -- when playing -- Quidditch teams...)
(Of course, 'Slytherins' and their typical attitude to rules...)

Roster

Goalkeeper: #01 _ Pait'hurr Storm _ plays for 'SouthGate Stormcubs' _ dark brown fur, ambidextrous, big but fast on his feet too, can exhale strongly enough to blow the ball around and maybe even to blow opposing players off of their feet.

Defenders: #02 _ Berrjhill ThunderBear _ plays for 'Island Rangers', usual position = Left Back _ greyish-brown fur, left-pawed, twin brother of #04.
#03 _ Darron Barkh _ plays for 'Imagerrie Ikons', usual position = Centre Back _ dark brown fur, left-pawed, big and strong but deceptively nimble too, the team's youngest player.
#04 _ Skorth ThunderBear _ plays for 'Island Rangers', usual position = Right Back _ greyish-brown fur, right-pawed, twin brother of #02. (These twins have astrong rapport that helps them to work very well together).

Midfielders:

#05 _ Anddurr Sable _ plays for 'Midsomer Mysteries', usual position = Defensive Left Midfielder, Team Captain _ ambidextrous, black fur, expressionless eyes, "indestructable", can not only project his voice right across the field but do so in such a way that only his intended target[s] here him, a very good player and a verrry good tactician.
#06 _ Derrak o FarWoods _ plays for 'FarWoods Rangers', usual position = Defensive Right Midfielder _ grayish-brown fur, right-pawed, in awe of (but dislikes) Andderr Sable.
#007 _ Jamz Bland _ plays for 'Multiversal Importers', usual position = Offensive Right Midfielder _ fur = light brown, right-pawed, good at getting to where his team's opponents don't want him to be, a playmaker and sometimes (usually when the opposition don't expect it) goal scorer, almost as good as he thinks he is _ off the pitch he dresses stylishly & expensively (just avoiding "flashily" too), enjoys good living and fast cars, and chases attractive females (Human as well as Ursine) who do tend to fall for him...
#404 _ Ethbahr Nevermore _ plays for 'Midsomer Mysteries', usually as Offensive Left Winger _ black fur, smaller than 'Sable' and a bit further from human than him as well, ambidextrous, he specialises in getting around the pitch without being noticed by the opposition (for example, to ensure that one of his colleagues isn't "offside" after all) and doesn't talk much.

Strikers:

#11 _ Bruettus Woaden _ plays for 'ChromaCity Champions', usual position = Left Forward _ dark brown fur with a "blue" tinge, right-pawed, tbig & strong, fairly fast but not quite as manoeuverable (or as intelligent?) as some of his colleagues; [non-identical] twin of #12.
#12 _ Bruenno Woaden _ plays for 'ChromaCity Champions', usual position = Right Forward _ dark brown fur with a "blue" tinge, left-pawed, tbig & strong, fairly fast but not quite as manoeuverable (or as intelligent?) as some of his colleagues; [non-identical] twin of #11.
#13 _ Gerray Scarrlett _ 'ChromaCity Champions', usual position = Centre Forward _ medium-brown fur with a reddish tinge, ambidextrous, a bit smaller than the twins but still quite large by human standards and surprisingly strong, fast and manoeuverable and bright, "indestructible", good at inspiring the team (of which he is Deputy Captain...).
(A fairly common tactic, when Gerray kicks off, will be for him to take the ball down-field while the Woaden twins back him up -- in a sort-of 'wedge' formation -- to discourage any attempts at tackling him & to help recover the ball if he does lose it...)

(Substitutes to be added later...)

Tyoduura squad for the second Copa Rushmori

Permissions: Free reign
Style mod: -2

Background
The Tyoduura national team are a mostly amateur outfit, with football not being an extremely big sport in Tyoduura (compared to its two protector nations, Ad’ihan and Liventia), although the game is steadily growing in stature in the island nation.

Two new football clubs, named Raästur Council and Trünri Council, have recently been formed and play in the Ad’ihani league system, with the former finishing fifth in the most recent season of the Ad’ihani Third Division, a result good enough to win promotion to the Second Division due to rules prohibiting B teams from being promoted.

This squad is made up mostly of professionals from these two clubs, although there are still a few unattached amateur players. There are also a number of female players in the team; they are unattached as the Ad’ihani league is strictly men-only and would be open to offers to play in foreign leagues.

For Imgoona manager Zeru Imanol, there was a bit of good news in being drawn in Group B of the second Copa Rushmori.

At least they wouldn't face World Cup champions Candelaria And Marquez or defending Copa Rushmori champions Somewhereistonia.

"It's a positive," Imanol said. "We don't start with that particular challenge."

Ah yes, but they do begin with a challenge nonetheless.

"We have Queer Poco el Mono Ara in our group," Imanol said. "West Zirconia also have a rich history that we don't have. Sargossa also made themselves somewhat known on the world footballing scene. Then there's Miceland. Suffice to say, we still have our work cut out for us."

Such is life when you have a national team that has never played a competitive match in its history. You might think that would result in the team playing defensive-oriented soccer, but you don't know Imanol.

"We're going to leave it all out on the pitch," he said. "If we get beat on the counter, so be it, but we're going to hopefully score a few goals here and there."

Imanol added that he would name the substitutes shortly.

"We just have to finalise the next three field players and the next goalkeeper," he said. "We're searching for players who can be versatile and can play more than one position. Depth is going to be a challenge for us."

He's right. It's just one of many facing this new team.

For the Pasarga squad, this was a chance to cement itself as the second best footballing nation in Rushmore. While no one would ever dispute Candelaria and Marquez' place as the premier footballing nation of Rushmore, the title of second best was up for grabs. There was the Nethertopians, who had been participating in WCC events for several more editions than any of the other challengers, but had failed to even secure a point in the two times they reached the Finals of the World Cup. Sargossa was also a possibility, fresh off a victory in the Cup of Harmony that was held inside Pasarga herself. Somewhereistonia also had a viable claim to second best, having won both the inaugural Copa Rushomori as well as the Baptism of Fire that Pasarga was a part of. Yet for their claims, Pasarga had perhaps the best case to claim the second best footballing nation in the region. Through four qualifying attempts, Pasarga had made the Finals twice and had even taken a full three points off a side unlike their Nethertopian counterparts.

Ausilio Calabrese was weighing all these things as the side prepared for their first match in the group stage. The first match was going to be the most difficult for them, as co-favorites for the group in Somewhereistonia were their oppisition. While the manager sat with the assistant and let the players talk among themselves, the Albrecht Turkish striker decided that something needed to be said. The side was too nervy and if they went out there right now, they would likely be demolished.

"Come on lads and lasses. It's time to get your heads on straight. Don't let the fact that these guys blew us out in the last edition get to your heads. That was many years ago and we have all improved. We've made it to the Finals and won, something they have not. All of us are hear for the nation, to do right by the lands that have provided so much for us, that have allowed us to pursue our hopes and dreams to whatever end. What are they here for? They are arrogant following their triumph last time, use that to your advantage my friends. Sucker them into a false sense of security, and then kill them with our counter attack. We are the men and women to do great things for Pasarga, so let's go out and do it!"

Fans of the odd-shaped ball, brought to you by the unhinged mind behind Krytenia.
Please note the two nations have no IC connection.
