Welcome to Kannap

Welcome to the great nation of Kannap once again, for the third edition of the Kannapian International Tennis Open, also known as the 3rd Kinterten. We welcome back competitors from the first two Kintertens and welcome new competitors to this competition. The Third Kannapian International Tennis Open will be held in Kannapolis, Kannap. Men and women will be allowed to enter the tournament and the tournament will include doubles and singles competition, as well as a youth tournament. This is planned to be the largest Kinterten thus far and we welcome you to the event, citizens and athletes of the world!

Third Kannapian International Open: Preliminary round

The first day of the Kannapian Open consisted of the prelimibary round for ranking purposes. The 1st round of youth males and mixed doubles have been played too. In singles, the first southerner to take the field was Floyd Williams. Williams won in three sets 5-7 6-1 and 7-5. Williams was followed by Maude Bergeron who lost 6-4 and 6-3 against Brianna Powell. Jen Bean won in three sets 6-3 4-6 and 6-2. Carlos Lopez easily won 6-3 and 6-1.

In doubles Carlos Lopez and Jesus Alvarez played against Maude Bergeron and Katie Lucic. Bergeron/Lucic won 6-4 6-7 and 7-5. Connor Kane and Tyler Toews lost their matchup 7-6 and 6-4. Amber Jones and Ashley Stevenson lost 6-4 and 6-2.

The youth males and females preliminary round was also played. Noah McDavid won 4-6 6-3 and 6-1 and Kendall Wimbley won 1-6 6-4 and 7-5. Monica Perez won 6-4 and 6-4 while Brandi Robinson lost 6-1 6-3.

Once the preliminary round was done, the 1st round of the youth males competition was played. Noah McDavid won 4-6 6-3 and 6-1. Kenball Wimbley won 1-6 6-4 and 7-5 and strangely it's the same results as the preliminary round.

That would be because a certain host scorinated the first round and accidentally posted the results of the preliminary round as the first round results. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I was doing a lot of data entry and scorination stuff when I was working through all the matches.

Third Kannapian Open: Day 2 and day 3

In the singles competition, Maude Bergeron beat Carlos Lopez (both from the Southern Democratic States) 6-7, 6-3 and 7-5, Floyd Williams won 7-5 and 6-4, and Jen Bean crushed her opponent 6-2 and 6-1, they all advanced to round 2 except Carlos Lopez.

In doubles, Bergeron/Lucic beat Kane/Toews 7-6, 3-6 and 7-5, Carlos Lopez/Jesus Alvarez won 7-6 and 6-4 and finally Amber Jones/Ashley Stevenson lost 6-1 and 6-3. Lopez/Alvarez and Bergeron/Lucic are both advancing to the 2nd round.

In mixed doubles, Floyd Williams/Jen Bean won 3-6, 6-3 and 6-0 and are ranked 2nd with a 1-1 record. In youth males, Kendall Wimbley beat Noah McDavid 2-6, 6-4 and 6-4. Wimbley will face Antrendo Wianthorpe in the finals while McDavid will play for the 3rd place against Kellen Carson.
