Apologies for the massive and more-detailed-than-it-needed-to-be RP. In hindsight, it seems a bit overkill and, instead of a simple sports RP, more like a 2500 word 12th grade essay that got a bit out of hand. Also, sorry if I've gotten anything wrong; if I have, or if you have something that you'd like to add, please don't be afraid to tell me so I can put it in (or add it as footnotes for my QF1 RP).

Managed to take it to overtime, so I'm happy. Just making it to the Ro16 was an accomplishment considering how badly I did in my first two.

Also, this is my 5,000th post. Yes, I wanted it to be in a hockey thread.

Well, here's hoping for two in a row. Seriously, well done mate.

P.S. Congratulations on the 5,000th post. If I had known, I would've gotten cake. Specifically, a giant puck shaped cake.

Good luck Novaya. To be honest, I kind of wanted you to win, as I haven't had a lot of motivation to RP as of late.

And the Quebecois have yet to consider Ontorisa as a rival. It'll eventually get there but one exhibition match and a series sweep, all ending with one side winning, don't make it a case yet.

ICly the Quebecois consider (among active nations) Gregoryisgodistan, Valanora and to lesser extent Elejamie (historic rivalry) as rivals in hockey because of series of key matches (with wins exchanged between both sides) between both teams.

Just 2 cents of my opinion.

Well, if the Ontorisans can unilaterally declare a rivalry for no good reason, so can we. Nephara, you're going down! And yes, I'm still confused about UConn football's Civil Conflict. At least there's RL precedent for it.

Unofficial rivals ;)

Besides, everyone was pretty rattled at the exhibition game with Corispan getting boarded and everything.

Lol, if that's the case then Gregoryisgodistan should be intense rivals with Neu Engollon and Zenic :P

Maybe it's just Ontorisans who want to consider Quebec a rival, since the opponent has no interest in considering it so....

Maybe. I mean, I'd be alright with that, even though again the rivalry might be one-sided because a) Elejamie are more concerned about Quebec (again, historical rivalry; see next sentence) and b) Elejamie hockey fans are so darn nice, like the Roligans of Denmark or the Tartan Army of Scotland. Or we could do what Quebec and I have done and mentioned a few matches that took place in the past, like one in 1995 (Elejamie 3-1 Quebec) and another in 1969 (Quebec 11-2 Elejamie). Just my <1p, that's all. Besides, if you want to, we can have a friendly match sometime after the tournament; it might come in handy for an RP I do either at the next WCoH or WJHC.

That could honestly work. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that I can't really get a scorinator (because Chromebook don't have Java and I don't know how to do it in Google Sheets), we could take it in turns hosting.

I was thinking having it something where all of the national teams participate but it's not like their star players but rather career minor league players, B line prospects, players in other leagues, etc.

Basically Team Canada at the Speiling Cup.

Alright, sounds cool. I'm fine with getting my B team (composed of the best of the best from the ENIHL2, which is like a cross between the AHL and the NLB) on the ice, since it'd make a nice change from my main guys.

Also, apologies if it sounds like I'm getting ahead of myself, but I've got a quick question: Has anyone ever won all of their games at the World Cup of Hockey? As in, managed to lift the trophy without drawing or losing a single game? Just curious, that's all.

None in my time at WCoH, which dates back to.....the 20th edition that is.

It's very hard to go undefeated to win it in WCoH because:

a) The RPing level's pretty high compared its counterparts in 4 major American sports, with most top-performers and high seeds both participating and RPing at least few times. Most of the top RPers this WCoH had pretty high seedings, including all of top 3 and few others in 4-15 range. Also, those who weren't of high seedings, but RP'd well, has done well in either their first or second campaigns: Gregoryisgodistan, Vermark and Ficiscia come into my mind.
b) Series format for playoffs. There are lot more games played in playoffs for WCoH than WB or HWC or WC because it's been like that for ages, barring exceptions in WCoH 20 and 23.

It's certainly not the scorinator in last few editions because Saintland's modifiers have been reflecting more on RPing + Ranks, reducing the probability of randomness, though it did play some huge uproars in the days before (WCoH 23 anyone?).

I remember back in the WCoH 26 (hosted and won by Quebec), I was ranked 8th, RP'd frequently and went undefeated in group stage with top seed. I still lost 4 games in playoffs- 1 in Quarterfinals, 1 in Semis and 2 in Final. How? Because of aforementioned reasons. Vermark, Valanora and Gyatso-Kai RP'd well and frequently during the WCoH and with the latter 2 having high ranks as well (Valanora was ranked 12th, Gyatso-Kai 3rd).

I'm taking guys from the Major Heratoian Ice Hockey League and the LSJL. Definitely will still be strong, but not as strong as my A-team.

A couple questions:

1. Will the WJHC be before the next WCoH or after this one?

2. Is there any interest in a club hockey tournament - sort of a Spengler Cup kind of thing (but open as opposed to invitational)?
