Most of you probably haven't seen me around this subforum much, and really the only significant thing I've done here is host the 2014 URFA Regional Cup. However, I'd love to have more RP experience in NS Sports, and in an effort to do so, and also since the majority of the major tournaments and competitions here are underway, I took this opportunity to make my own tournament - the Venecan Community Shield.
What is the Community Shield?
The Community Shield is a one-off (as of now) association football tournament for club teams from all around the world. Each nation is permitted to send one club to the tournament to represent them, with the exception of Veneco who have four berths. This leaves 12 spaces for nations to sign-up - if you want in, do it fast.
How will it work?
I have set the number of participants to 16. Those who sign-up will be drawn into four pots of four clubs. The entrant number you are decides which pot your club will be drawn into. From the pots, four groups of four (A-D) will be drawn. After each club has played the others in its group once, the top two advance to the knockout stages. From there, a single-legged Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, Third Place Playoff and Final will be played.
When will this begin?
At the moment, I am planning to begin the tournament on January 2, 2015 with Group A's first matchday, and then host the final on January 25, 2015. However, I am more than happy to hear what other participants think would be a good time to start, and we can vote on the matter if it becomes necessary.
