JECKLAND BID FOR WORLD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP 20

IC Info
Jeckland is a large nation located in Esportiva. They have a sports-crazy population of around 100 million. The national leader is Jeck Hitchkin, who runs a right wing government with a comfortable majority of public support. In terms of lacrosse, World Lacrosse Championship 17 was our first ever international tournament, and we made the round of 15 before losing to the hosts. A quarter final finish next time followed by a disappointing group stage exit at WLC 19 leaves the national team, nicknamed the Spuds, ranked 11th. After a failed WLC 18 bid, they are desperate to win this time around.

OOC Info
Hi, I'm Jeck. I've been around NS Sports for almost a year now. During that time I have accumulated a fair bit of experience, including scorinating the latest Campionato Esportiva di Campeones and scorinating an NSCF conference. I have won rights to host other tournaments, however technical difficulties have prevented me from completing them (these are all fixed now, so it is no concern). I have also scorinated numerous friendlies, the Kronum World Cup final series, and domestic sports on my sportswire. In terms of Lacrosse, I scorinated the Lacrosse Challenge Cup, a domestic lacrosse tournament, and also compiled the most recent rankings.

How this thing's gonna work
My preference is for groups of 4 or 5 in a single round robin tournament, followed by a Round of 16 which is straight knockout, and so forth. Tiebreakers will be H2H, Goal Difference, Wins, Goals For, and then a play-off match. Scorination will be done with xkoranate 0.3.3. RP will be graded on a completely fluid scale from 0 to 0.4, with rosters graded on the same scale. The reason for this scale is that I believe it offers a fair chance to unranked or low ranked nations who RP consistently, without giving them the chance to overtake the top team before MD1 like a scale of 0-5 would.

Any other question?
Please ask below or by other means. Thank you for reading! *bows*

Thank you to everyone who voted. I will try to make the WLC's 20th anniversary memorable.

I will leave sign-ups open for a bit longer. We currently have 27, but the rate has slowed considerably. I would like to reach 30, 32, 35 or 36 participants within the next 48 or so hours. Look for the IC thread to be up by that time as well.

I am going to close sign-ups at 30. The IC thread will be up soon, and I will edit the link into this post.

Also, for the sake of transparency, I would like to disclose that a detail of my bid has been changed. It originally mentioned that only eight teams would advance past the group stage. That was never intended to be the case, it was an error made when writing up the bid. The actual number of advancing teams will be 12, two from each of the five groups and the two best 3rd place teams. I am confident that no one will have a problem with more teams in the playoff, but nevertheless, I apologize for any misunderstanding.
