R&RP Soccer Tournament [R&RP Region Only]

Welcome to the First Realism and Roleplay Soccer Tournament!

This years tournament will be a 14 team single elimination tournament.

Scorination will be handled by a random excel sheet found on google! Wow!

The actual games will begin on Friday (October 24) and continue each Tuesday and Friday night.

An RP bonus will be awarded to teams that RP their games so that inactive competitors do not overshadow more involved participants.

The first game of the Regional Tournament saw FC Korva advance in a stunning 3-0 win over San Navazques. Korvan fans were elated as the unrelenting offense kept the team from San Navazques on their back foot the entire game. Armand Rosseau and Gille Tolin, both longtime veterans of the team, were the very tip of the Korvan spear as they bowled over defenders like so many pins.

The streets of New Constantine are certain to be packed with celebrations and FC Korva certainly earned it. It remains to be seen however, how the team will perform against stouter opposition, specifically the formidable FC Krajstali.

Jubilation in the streets today as our victorious soccer team defeated Nue-Pommern in a nail biting close match. Center Piere Sauvage made the game winning goal with less than 5 minutes to spare. Down at half time the Imperial team really brought out the hurt in the second half playing much more aggressively. Though the aggressive play style did cause one casualty on our side. Center Juan Gonzales suffered a sprain to his left ankle, but doctors think he should be able to play by next week, but will have to miss several days of practice. We here at the station wish him a speedy recovery. With any luck next weeks game against Proskoya will be even more thrilling.

"Well, that was suprising" commented one of many Elektrogradian fans while leaving stadium after match against Antarticaria. And indeed it was, when old team was dumped chances for victory dropped rapidly. Experts were mostly pessimistic in their predictions, calling new manager's decision "the final nail in Elektrogradian coffin". Mr. Nawała, however, proved them wrong. Last evening our Wasps scored astounding five points, loosing only one, leaving Antarticarian team far behind. "We can't stop working" said captain, Jurij Waltschak "We have difficult match ahead. Romic won't fall so easily, they are more experienced than any of us."
For many Elektrogradians Regional Soccer Tournament is the most important sports event of whole year, making this victory even more important.

Tonight's win over FC Krajstali, obtained by a nail-biting goal in extra time, will ensure the Korvan team's place at the Regional Tournament Semi-Finals.

The match began at a fever pitch with each time scoring a goal within the first half. FC Krajstali's Casimir Meciar quickly answered Denis Verdon's early goal against Krajstalian goalie Franjo Matej. This furious pace continued for the duration of the half, though neither team was able to secure a second goal.

The final half was no less tense for lack of scoring, with yellow cards against players from both teams being pulled left and right. Fans and players alike knew that a draw would equal the elimination of both teams. It is not surprising then that Simon Grenier's last minute goal, scored in extra time, brought the stadium to its feet.

FC Korva will advance to the Semi-Finals where it is scheduled to play against Cartian Imperial Soccer Team.
