Welcome to the first Triathlon World Championships, the premier triathlon event in the multiverse! This event brings together the best of the best from the past cycles of NTA Qualifying Events and the most recent Olympic Games. Athletes from around the multiverse have been invited to partake (based on finishing results in the qualifying events) in the festivities, comradery, and finally (what everyone is looking forward to) the Championship Race. The events will be held over a one week time period kicking off with the Opening Ceremonies held in HopNation on Friday the 24th. Then comes a fun run on Sunday, a new event where we invite friends and family to partake and join in our shared love of the Triathlon. Then we will get down to business on Tuesday the 28th with round one, the Qualifier. Here we will narrow our field down to the select few that will then run in the Triathlon World Championships Final, held on Thursday the 30th. Just before the doom sets in, depending on when it all starts to spread. All ending with the Closing Ceremonies in Star United States after the final race.

About Star United States & HopNation

HopNation – With an array of athletic talent spread through out HopNation they have many triathlon events through out the year and send their best to participate in the NTA events. They are also a current member of the NTA Board, ranked first on the rankings, and have qualified their top three triathletes for this event. They are bringing host experience from the Tri-Hop as well as from puppet Timbermunich’s hosting of the Triathlon World Tours.
Star United States – One of the first hosts in triathlons, current president of the NTA, and proprietor of the Star Triathlon Worldwide Tournaments (most recent: Fifth edition). He is no stranger to the triathlon world and is currently holding down the fourth place spot in the rankings.
More IC information will come from both of your hosts once we get closer to the event start date.

Opening Ceremony – Held in HopNation this event will get the fun started with many interesting activities, live music, food, and other entertainment for all in attendance. This event will last an entire day leading up to the first event, the Fun Run.

Fun Run – This is just as it sounds a fun run and is open to all of the qualified triathletes, team staff, and families of those two entities. This will also split the field in half and place 15 of our qualified triathletes in each of the host nations. (details of each will be provided prior to the Fun Run date)

Qualifying Race – but you say, ‘Aren’t all the triathletes here qualified already?’, well yes, yes they are but we are going to narrow those qualified individuals down even more. Our field of thirty will be split into three groups of ten, and then the top 5 of each of those will move onto the Final. The groups will be split amounts the two hosts as well, with Groups A and C being hosted in HopNation while Group B will be in Star United States.

The Final – This is it, the last hurrah! This is where the NTA World Champion will be crowned and the triathletes that advance to this event will be able to hold themselves in elite status. This will be a single run, well a swim, cycle, and run, to determine our champion and will be held in Star United States.

About our history and major laws...

Founded on February 20, 1815, Star United States was created by the joining of the five, former independent states of Starix, Etrall, Piasxe, Orangue and Herbeid. The natives of the land were known as Stars, hence the name of the country, the Republic of Star United States. The natives of Star United States, however, aren't commonly known as Stars, they are known as Starians.

The state is primarily full of tropical jungle, with hot summers, and midly cold winters. Inhabited about of 98 million citizens, who are full of diversity in so many ways, as it is opened to mostly anyone. Star United States currently has three official languages. English becoming the first on September 19, 1816, and Spanish becoming the second on January 1, 1900. The newest official language, Portuguese, was approved on February 1, 2014.

Star United States is a rather liberal country, concerning laws. However, this does not mean they do not exist. They do, and are great enforced. One of the few major laws of Star United States is no beverages with any alcohol. Alcohol is observed as a product that may only be used in medicine prescribed by certified doctors within the nation, as go the same for nicotine. Possession of any of such products may result in lawful punishments. Any other illegal items, or substances, will be founded during entrance and exit examinations in Starian airlines and airports.

About out airports...
On that note, Star United States is home to eight international airports, which are described below:

Pixe International Airport
The Pixe International Airport, or PIA, is in Pixe City, Piasxe, Star United States. This airport is located near many amusements of Star United States, like for example Pixe State Amusement Park, that includes many enjoyable rides, from the Carousel to the Ferries Wheel, to the high, and fast rollercoasters.

Woodbed International Airport
The Woodbed International Airport, or WIA, is in Woodbed City, Estrall, Star United States. This airport is located in the eastern side of the dense Woodbed City, near many different Five-Star hotels and diners, within a five-mile radius. About 10 miles from the airport is the National Reserve and Zoo, where many different kinds of animals can be found.

Golden International Airport
The Golden International Airport, or GIA, is in Golden City, Herbeid, Star United States. This airport is located near the Gold Mines of the nation. It is near The Golden Resort, where people that check it get a time to go into the the fully safe, and secure mines, and look for gold, and whatever they find belongs to them.

Star International Airport
The Star International Airport, or SIA, is in City of Star, Starix, Star United States. This airport is located in the north of the capital city, City of Star. It is located near many of the nation's top hotels and resorts, all within an 8-mile radius. It is near to the National Theater, also.known as Star City Theatre, where many major evens occur. It is also near to the City of Star Sports Complex Stadium. Many of the nation's top and best stores are within a 12-mile radius.

Opangue Region International Airport
The Opangue Region International Airport, or ORIA, is located in Riverside City, one of the only few buzzing cities in the state of Opangue in Star United States. Riverside City is located between Opangue River and Klein River. It is the center of Star Fishing. Many underground tunnels, and caves are found by the rivers, where people can go and explore. Many three to five-star hotels and resorts are found in a 15-mile radius of the airport.

SeaShore International Airport
The SeaShore International Airport, or SSIA, is in SeaShore City, Estrall, Star United States. The airport Is located about 2.5 miles away from the ocean. Many Five-Star hotels and resorts are found within a 3-mile radius. It is located near the National Beach, and The National Harbor. It is also near to the SeaShore Fair on the Estrall Pier, which is, usually, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lake Star International Airport
The Lake Star International Airport, or LSIA, is in the rich city, Lake Star in Starix, Star United States. It is Located to the regional famous Lake Star Resort, which is right on Lake Star, the national lake. Many different hotels and resorts are found in Lake Star, no matter where you're at in it.

Jackson International Airport
The Jackson International Airport is located in Jackson City, Piasxe, Star United States. This airport is the first airport to open ad part of the Star United States International Airports Vision 2013 Program. This airport is located near the national water park, also known was The Star Falls. The Star Falls includes a water park for children, teens, and adults. It also includes the Star Waterfalls, which are more than 60 waterfalls near each other. It has resorts and hotels within the park. The airport has hotels with a 3-mile radius. The Star Falls is 7 miles away from the airport.

About out currency and culture...
The currency of Star United States is known as a Starlite, and one Starlite is worth NS$1.1590. Places that have to do with international-relations, such as stadiums, accept, on the most part, foreign currency, however, most hotels do not. All Starian International Airports, malls, banks, and sport venues, offer stations that convert from one currency to another.

Strains love sports, and proudly show it, especially during tournaments. The excitement is felt within all the streets and major cities of the country. Food, what's a party with no food? Spanish, English, and Portuguese-based food can be found anywhere and everywhere in the country, as well as other based food. The International Mall of City of Star contains over a thousand venues of food around the multiverse.

The QUALIFYING ROUND - Star United States will be hosting Group B at the Waterside Athletic Complex Center on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

The FINAL and CLOSING CEREMONY - The final match will take place at the Star Athletic Complex Center at the capital city, City of Star, the day will be full of festivities, just like the fun run encounter at the WACC. However, the closing ceremony will take place across the street from the SACC, at the Star Stadium during the evening hours.

Courses, Travel, Entertainment, and Other items for the portions taking place here

General Information

HopNation is a fairly peaceful place with very little crime throughout the four HopNation States. This is achieved by a well funded police force and military that cracks down on anything from jaywalking to the more serious offences like murder and assault. Drug use is extremely low as well as it is highly regulated on a few select items, while others are outlawed outright. The nation prides itself on brewing and almost all households homebrew in some capacity. This does not mean that there is an over abundance of drunk people wondering about. On the contrary, due to the extremely low use tolerance levels it is rare to ever find anyone drunk. The BAL (Blood Alcohol Level) for driving any vehicle (car, truck, boat, lawnmower, etc.) is set at just 0.01 and it is met with extreme enforcement (public shaming, lengthy prison time, and high fines just to name a few). Along with homebrewing there are 6 major breweries in HopNation that provide a variety of State and Regional brews that are available at supermarkets and convenience stores throughout the land, so be sure to taste a few just be sure it’s done in the proper locations and you never get in a vehicle as a driver after having even one drink. There is one official brewery for the BEER, HopNation’s currency, and it can only be produced in that brewery due to the rare quality of ingredients used to make it (read here for more details). There are currency conversion sites located at all international travel venues so be sure to stop by one of those on your way into HopNation (1.324 NS $ = 1 BEER) as our local stores do not honor foreign currency. We have an abundance of places to stay, with most of the major ones being only minutes away from the Triathlon Venues, so finding accommodations should be fairly easy.

HopNation is also a nation that prides itself on sport and has many recreational leagues and professional leagues, so if you get the chance be sure to check one of those out while visiting. Currently there are Arena Football Leagues (Association Football) in full session. Hockey Leagues are underway although the HHL is currently on break for the WCoH, but many youth and junior leagues are still having games. We also have some top notch Volleyball going on in a few of our venues. If you’d like to take in any of our current sports or even some of the indoor zoos and botanical gardens just inquire at the front desk of your hotel (or motel, or b&b, or mountain villa resort) for more information on tickets and directions.

Travel within HopNation is easy too. You could rent a car, take a taxi or bus to many locations. If you plan on going past one of the two mountain ranges it is advised that you use our train service, especially as winter is getting closer and the higher elevations get snow most of the year making the mountain passes hard to get through at times even with our advanced snow removal and our SunRoads (something along the lines of the Solar Roadways). But that shouldn’t be an issue unless you do some advanced sight seeing on your visit, you’ll be in Hefebayern during your stay for the Opening Ceremony, Fun Run, and Group Stage.

Courses and Venues

The Opening Ceremonies will be held in Bayern, Hefebayern in the BAEC (Bayern Amphitheater and Event Center). This is the second largest event center in all of HopNation and easily accommodates one million people within it’s gates, but that’s the entire venue, we will be in the Bayern Amphitheater portion along with it’s concourse area (more details on this will be revealed in the Opening Ceremonies post).

The Fun Run (HopNation Side) is also in Bayern and will be segmented into three total events, as we hope to encourage all ages and abilities to join us for this relaxed event. The first will be a kids run which will consist of a 1600m (mile) run and a 8k (5 or 4.97 mile) bike ride (no swimming for the kids), it will be set up near the entrance to the BAEC and finish near the amphitheater as it goes through a good portion of the BAEC. Next will be an all ages 8k, this will only be a running/jogging/walking course and is on the double sidewalks leading away from the BAEC entrance before circling around and coming back to the start line. This is also very flat and level so any fitness level can participate. Finally we’ll have a mini-tri, which is geared as a warm up for out triathletes participating in the Triathlon World Championship but is open to others wanting to test their abilities. It will be a 750m swim, a 20k bike, and a 5k run (half of the real deal). This will be held in our Junior Training Center located 15 kilometers north of Bayern with the swim being in the Olympic size pool, the bike ride on our training course (starts just outside the indoor pool), and finishes with a trail run leading out of the facility and circling back on the smooth surface training trail. In the kids only event all participants will receive a medal and a free pass (with one accompanying adult pass) granting access to some of the VIP areas of the actual event (group stage areas for the HopNation portion only). The top three finishers for age groups; 5-7, 8-10, 11-15, and 15-18 (both boys and girls) will also be awarded certificates for deep discounts on a pair of shoes (50% off any pair) and a bike (80% off any model) from TriWear, the premier triathlon store located in the Junior Training Center. The 8k event participants will all receive a medal of completion and a 20% off one item certificate for the TriWear store. The participants in the mini-tri will also receive a medal of completion and a 20% off one item certificate to the TriWear store along with some other swag (revealed at a later time).

Be sure to post/submit your participant list for each category, that is if your interested in having friends, family, and/or staff participate.
(we are assuming that all qualified individuals will be participating in the mini-tri as a tune up for the main event, so if you want your athlete to abstain from it please make note of that in your post/submission/roster).


The Group Stage will be held on an extended version of the Nasser Hund sprint series course (sprint series course 2 of the Tri-Hop) in Bayern, the extended version will bring it up to the Olympic Distance standards (1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run). There will be a single staging area for this course and it will be on the northern side of Saccharific Lake (western part of Bayern), all stages will be an out and back format. This course’s swimming stage will take place in Saccharific Lake and will be in a teardrop shaped following a series of buoys, keeping those buoys on their left side for the entire swim. Once they have exited the water they will pass through the staging area to their bicycles and head north on the cycling section. This cycling portion will turn around after a short climb up the base of The Hallertautops Mountain Range and head back to the staging area along the same roadway. The athletes will return their bicycles to the staging area and head to the east on the road running course. The running course will follow the roadways of Bayern and loop back around the cities central park, ending back at the staging area. The cycling course is a gradual uphill climb on the way out (a little steeper as you progress into the mountain range) and then entirely downhill on the way back to the staging area (smoothing out to completely flat a km or so from Bayan). The running course is very flat, but is on a winding roadway with views of the lake to the south and the mountain range can be seen between buildings to the north.

  1. Opening Ceremony with all of it’s details will likely be posted very late Thursday the 23rd (around midnight EST) or extremely early the 24th (depending on your location of course), but for IC purposes will be held during the entire day on Friday the 24th.
  2. Fun Run Fifteens will be released along with the Opening Ceremonies – this will reveal which triathletes will be in HopNation or Star United States for this event.
  3. Fun Run results will be posted at some point in the later hours of Sunday the 26th.
  4. HopNations RP cut-off for the Qualifying (Groups A and C) will be at 1500-1600 EST (9pm UTC).
  5. Group Draw will be done and posted at the end of the Opening Ceremonies.
  6. We encourage all to RP how they wish for your Nation and Triathletes (participating in the fun run or not), just know that they will be graded on quality over quantity during the entire length of this event.

Opening Ceremonies

Venue
All festivities are being held at the Bayern Amphitheater and Events Center (BAEC), which is in Bayern, Hefebayern, HopNation and is located on the north northeast side of Saccharific Lake. Hefebayern is one of the four HopNation States and makes up the entire region to the west of the Hallertautops Mountains. Bayern is one of the largest cities in all of HopNation and it is also the capital of Hefebayern (not the capital of HopNation, that is Zorg). The BAEC is an extremely large venue and it has many buildings used for multiple things. There is a dirt race track and an indoor motocross track located on the eastern edge of the BAEC. The southern portion of the BAEC has a small amusement park that despite its overall size attracts visitors from all over the multiverse. It has a couple rollercoasters and roughly 15 traditional fair type rides (Farris wheel, bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl types, and more). There is a larger building in the center which is mostly used for concerts and the occasional trade show and finally there is the Bayern Amphitheater. The Amphitheater holds numerous outdoor concerts throughout the year and is where we will be hosting the Opening Ceremonies final show. There is also a concourse which leads up to the amphitheater that will be used for all of the lead up shows and entertainment. This concourse area is also where you’ll find many food vendors and a couple standalone restaurants. There is ample parking just outside the main north gate (gate everyone will be using for this event), but you might want to arrive early to secure a spot closer to the entrance.

Arrival and First Events
Time: 6:35 a.m.
Location: Front Gate of BAEC
”Oliver please open the main gate it looks like our first participants are arriving. Also, please make sure they have proper credentials and have found the free parking areas.”
“Yes Sir, right away Sir.”

A young Oliver rushes over to the entrance gate and presses the flashing red/green button after inserting his key into the locking mechanism. The gate illuminates and then slides open, as it opens a series of entry turnstiles lift from their underground storage and form the ten entry points into the BAEC. Once they are set in their final position Oliver moves outside the gate and approaches the few individuals that are getting out of their bus. He greats them and checks their credentials, just as he was instructed to.

“Hello and Welcome, o sorry Sir I didn’t recognize the bus from back at the gate.”
“It’s quite alright son, are we parked in the correct zone?” the man asks as he comes out of the buses door
“Yes, this is the correct free parking zone for our Triathlon World Championships. Are the rest of our athletes with you Mr. VonHopton?”
“Yes Oliver they are. They should be out shortly. Will you help me unload our equipment?”
“You remember my name Sir, we only met once before.”
“Yes, when we were organizing this event we were introduced. Has the officials from Star United States arrived yet?”
“No Sir you are the first group to arrive. If you don’t mind, what equipment are we unloading?”
“Please let me know once they do arrive. Mostly just our bikes.”
“But there are no events that need your bikes today Mr. VonHopton.”
“O I know, we are displaying team equipment in the concourse. They must not have mentioned that to you, but they should have since you are manning the gate this morning.”
“Ah, alright then. Do you want just one of them or are we gathering all three to display?”
“Just one will do, I have the other gear in my bag.”
“Very well Sir, you can follow me then. Just let me lower one of the turnstiles so we can get through with the bike.”
“Very, looks like everyone is ready. Are we to swipe our passes over the reader when we enter?”
“Yes, I’ll take your bike in to the left and all of you can enter the turnstiles. Wait for the green light after scanning and then enter.”
“Good, good lead the way.”

VonHopton along with Halle and Stumpf follow Oliver to the gate, they are accompanied by a couple coaches and their families. Oliver lowers one turnstile and takes the bike through as the other pass through the operating turnstiles. They are then greeted by the master of ceremonies, Pier Ringold, who takes the bike from Oliver and escorts the HopNation team to the concourse. Oliver goes back and greets each of the athletes, guests, and coaching staff of each Nation as they arrive. He makes sure they are all situated in proper parking areas, helps them unload, and gets them inside the gate. They are all then met by the master of ceremonies and escorted to the concourse area. Inside the concourse are there are individual booths set up for each Nation and they are stocked with bottled water, light snacks, and their arrival bags (one for each qualified triathlete). The bags contain official participant IDs with lanyards, Maps of HopNation and Star United State, bib numbers arm and leg stickers, brand new GPS enabled Hynex Ironman Watches, a new pair of Myth (Ironman Edition) Sunglasses, a couple samples of HopNation Award Winning Brewvarian Brews BreadHead from the Alpine View Beer Festival, a box of energy granola bars, and a few other miscellaneous trinkets (like pins and buttons with images of each nation on them). In the front of each booth the Nations Flag is displayed along with the teams equipment which is placed on display for the guests and other athletes to see while they walk around the concourse area.

During the time set for arrivals we have a special musical guest that will be playing in the center of the concourse. The musical guest is HopNations current No. 1 Rock Group, HISS and They will be playing through almost all of their songs including a few new never before heard tracks from their upcoming album Nevermore. They are scheduled to take the stage at 8 a.m. and playing through 10 a.m. which will lead into a few product displays by our top triathlon training supplies companies.

Welcome
Time: 10:05 a.m.
Location: Amphitheater Concourse
”LADIES AND GENTELMAN, HELLO AND WELCOME” A voice announces over the PA system as Hiss finishes their last song. The crowd quiets down a bit and the man continues.
“I am Ulrich VonHessen, chair of the HopNation Triathlon Association or HTA and I would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to all of you and hope that your stay here and in Star United States if you are traveling there is a GREAT ONE! I hope everyone had a chance to mingle and move around our National displays as well as take in some of that excellent rock from Hiss. I know I did!”

He pauses for a moment while the crowd cheers a bit.

“I also hope that all of the athletes and teams found their arrival packets which contain some important documents for your safe travel and passage to the different events over the next week. Let me briefly go through our order of events, including the festivities planned for today.”

As he continues to go over the information a video screen is raised on the central stage and the outline of events is brought up for everyone to see.

“First we had our opening mingle and Hiss performed. Next up will be some product demonstrations within the booths set up to our left and while checking those out be sure to enjoy the top Country Band Fascal Ratts. After that we will have another band, this time an alternative grunge style band in Orange Morning. While they play we will have a few kid specific games set up near the entrance to the concourse as well as some food vendors coming in, which will be providing an afternoon lunch style buffet and did I mention it is free!”

He pauses a moment for a few cheers to settle down and then he continues.

“Once everyone gets enough to eat and Orange Morning is done playing we’ll have everyone gather inside the amphitheater so we can start our athlete march along with some entertainment by Sol Sirq Solmea as they perform some of their advanced acrobatic routines. We will then finish with a final welcome from me and then a grand fireworks display.”

He continues to go through the rest of the schedule, addressing each day and what the over all plan is for both HopNation and Star United State. Once VonHessen completes his welcome address Fascal Ratts starts playing and the booths for product displays are open for everyone to peruse, test, and even purchase anything being offered. This goes on for a couple hours and eventually Elabama (another country band) joins Fascal Ratts on stage to continue the music until the food venders are all set up.

Kid Games and Food
Time: 12:45 p.m.
Location: Amphitheater Concourse
During the last couple songs played by Fascal Ratts and Elabama a good number of carts roll in, there are also some carnival type games set up now in front of all the Nation booths. A couple juggling clowns are starting to entertain the crowed as Orange Morning get set up to play. In the northern corner a dual booth is set up where one side has a couple face painters primed and ready to go, while on the other side there are three balloon animal creators getting ready. There are also lines forming at each game, face painter, and balloon creator as the bustling of all the children starts to grow.

Once Orange Morning starts to play the games and other kid activities get underway as well. The food vendors are finally set up and people are welcomed to each as they pass to taste what they have to offer. A number of tables have been set up around the center stage where some people with filled plates sit and enjoy the music and food.

Children and families flock around each game and entertainment station as the day progresses. Many children can be seen with painted faces, wearing or holding spectacular balloon creations, and even a few carry prizes from the many games they have been playing. Parents can be seen trying to wrangle their wee ones, tearing them away from games, to sit and eat for a few minutes. Then midway through this event a group of seven clowns come in and start to perform for the crowed. This grabs the attention of many children and for the time the clowns are there the lines are a bit less crowded at each booth. It was a big hit with everyone around, at least from what we could tell but there did happen to be a few people that might have been afraid of clowns as they gravitated near the opposite side of the concourse. Near the 4 o’clock mark the clowns leave and many of the games, especially the ones out of prizes, start to close down. The face painters and balloon creators pack up their things and head out of the concourse area. The food venders serve up a few final item, just to make sure everyone had enough. Then everyone is escorted into the Bayern Amphithearter.

Athlete March
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Location: Bayern Amphitheater
The triathletes have been escorted to a separate section behind the stage of the amphitheater and a section of seats near the front have been left open.

“Ladies and Gentelmen, Welcome to the Nationstates Triathlon Associations Triathlon World Championship. We are proud to present to you the participants in this years Championship Event.”

As the voice announces this over the PA system the stage lights come to life, flashing, flickering, spinning around, and illuminating the stage area. From the audience’s view a spot light is shinning on center stage as a man walks out from behind the curtain, while another spot light is shinning on the left stair entrance.

“Please join me in welcoming the triathletes from around the multiverse. These 30 triathletes come to us from 19 different Nations and 13 different Regions.”

He pauses for a moment as the crowd cheers and then settles down.

“Without further ado we present to you the Triathletes. First we have the three triathletes from one of our hosts; we have Warren VonHopton, Jörg Ulrich Halle, and Arnold Erdmann Stumpf of HopNation.”

The crowd claps and cheers as the three walk up the stairs and proceed to walk across the stage with VonHopton carrying the HopNation Flag. When they are half way across the announcer introduces the next triathletes.

“From our other host we have Ayston Pase, Carson Star, and Oliver King from Star United States.”

The crowd again cheers as the three moves up the stairs and walk across the stage, Carson Star is carrying their flag. By the time they are halfway across the stage the announcer starts again and the HopNation group has walked across the entire length of the stage and looped back behind the announcer and are now standing just to the right of the stairs (from the crowds perspective).

“Next we have three triathletes from Britonisea, Johnson Rogers, Guy Majifi, and George Jordan.”

More cheers and clapping as the three enter the stage and proceed across with Johnson Rogers holding the flag. The three from Star United States have made the same walk as HopNation and are now standing next to them. Once again at the halfway mark the announcer starts.

“Representing Ceni we have Zach Ivins, Tyr Gaejc, and Dayes Ferlo.”

A few whoops and whistles can be heard along with the cheers as this group enters the stage, especially as Zach Ivins waves their flag in response. The athletes from Britonisea have made it to their holding spot with the other teams as the Ceni three cross the stage.

“Next we have two wonderful triathletes from Rohane Alista, Alder Yurov and Kristen Roedder.”

Once again the crowd shows it’s appreciation for the two from Rohane Alista as they enter and cross the stage. Alder Yurov dips the flag near the walkway mark (just as Ceni arrives in line with the others) getting a few more cheers before the announcer starts again.

“From Seahold we have Richard Lee and Wodihilt Braun.”

Richard Lee is carrying the flag as the crowd cheers them across. Alder and Kristen arrive at their holding spots as the Seahold two make it to the middle of the stage and the announcer presents the next triathletes.

“From HopNation’s neighboring nation we have Great Battle and Great One-Arm Willy of Timbermunich.”

Both enter the stage with their customary axes in hand and there is a flag attached to each. The crowd cheers as they lift their axes into the air and move across the stage. The duo from Seahold move into place and our next set is announced.

“From Anditia we have James Vandry”

James enters the stage carrying the flag to the many cheers from the crowd, he waves and continues on his way.

“Next up we have Annette Morrissette from Chiata”

She enters the stage waving the Chiata flag and proceeds across to the many cheers and whistles.

“Representing the Democratic States of Fenbar is Everard Montgomery”

Everard enters the stage just like the other carrying the national flag with him as the cheers grow while he climbs the stairs. The other triathletes are lining the back section of the stage as they continue to wave their flags and wave to the crowd.

“From the Free Swiss States we have Alyion du Lusavik.”

Cheers again rise from the crowd as the triathlete moves across the stage.

“Itanpavia is represented by Louiza Kravža.”

Louiza moves up the stairs and crosses the stage to the cheers of the crowd.

“Next we have Kathi Betsold from Kannap.”

Kathi waves to the crowd as she enters and moves across.

“Mizuyuki has qualified Ruiko Saten.”

Saten jumps up the stairs waving the flag to many cheers and a few whistles.

“North Britonisea is represented by Lëo Kiplikæt”

Lëo dances along to the crowds cheers and draws a few whoops as well.

“From the Peruvian Highlands we have Domingo Clark”

Clark enters to the crowds cheers and waves the flag while moving across the stage. The line of triathletes in the back portion of the stage is almost all the way across now. The announcer continues.

“Representing Schottia is Alex Sampson.”

The crowd starts to cheer but then grows somewhat quiet. Then they see the Schottia flag bouncing and waving as Alex bounds up the stairs and their cheers return to full volume.

“Wolfbenz has qualified Marinius Klasson”

The crowd continues to cheer right up until the announcer starts again as Klasson has reached the halfway point across the stage.

“Our final triathlete, representing Wreptzle is Jordon Joakim”

Joakim makes the trek across the stage to the many cheers of the crowd and continue the cheers until he is in place with the rest of the participants.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, your Triathlon World Championship TRIATHLETES!”

The crowd erupts with cheers, whoops, whistles, and even a few vuvuzelas as the athletes move forward to the front edge of the stage. They wave their flags and wave to the crowd for a bit and then move to the empty section of seats near the left front of the amphitheater.

“May I present to you, Mr. Ulrich VonHessen.”

The announcer moves from the stage as the curtains open and VonHessen walks forward to a microphone that has risen from the center of the stage.

Final Comments and Fireworks
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: Bayern Amphitheater

“Hello again everyone! I hope that you have all enjoyed your day thus far, I know I have. I’ve had a chance to make my way around the group of athletes and have spoken with all of them. They seem really excited to be here and competing in this event. From seeing their excitement and enthusiasm for the sport I love and the one they love is great and will drive the passion you all will see over the next week or so. I don’t want to eat up your entire evening and I know we are all excited for the fireworks, which will start in just a few minutes. But before we get to that, how about we find out who will be competing against who in the Fun Run!”

The crowd cheers loudly as a boy runs up with a sealed envelop.

“As you know the Fun Run is meant to be just that FUN, but with the help of our planning committee between Star United States and HopNation we have decided to add a little spice to the mix. We are still splitting our field in half, 15 competitors will be staying here in HopNation while the other 15 will head to Star United States to compete in the Fun Run. For both of the Fun Runs taking place for our Qualified Triathletes we have added in a bit of incentive, we are giving the top three individuals from each side a small boost to their Qualification and Finals run. So with out further ado here are your Fun Run Fields.”

Random.org was used to produce the two groups of 15. First 15 names in one group the next 15 names in the second group.

As VonHessen says the word fireworks a large bright orange firework blasts into the air looking similar to that of HopNations Hop. This is followed by another one that splits into two colors in a three line pattern, somewhat in the shape of Star United States flag. Then two at a time more fireworks go off in the colors and patterns of all the participating nations. This is followed by a grand display of spectacular fireworks all culminating in a grand finale the like no one has seen.



OOC note - Please make sure to read through each hosts fun run details to know what all is included in their events for that day. For the HopNation side we request that you submit additional names for inclusion in the kids run and ride as well as anyone for the 8k. The 15 qualified individuals will be doing the min-tri.

As the plane touched down, Alder yawned and stretched, unbuckling his seat belt as soon as the light went off and stretching. The one thing he hated about international competition was the international travel. Alder had never been much of one for planes, boats, cars... or anything more than a bike or his feet. The other athlete on the plane didn't seem to mind, however, as Kristen Roedder was whistling lightly to herself as she got off.

"You know," she began, looking around eagerly as soon as she had gotten off the stairs and began travelling across the tarmac, "I never actually thought I might reach the national level, much less get to compete in the world championships!" She was almost squealing in glee at the chance to represent her nation at the first of an event she was sure would become prestigious.

Alder, however, grunted in his typical way. "Let us not get carried away. We have come to race, nothing more or less. If we win, then we may celebrate, but only briefly. Next season is not far."

"Jeez, party pooper, lighten up at least once in a while! There's only ever one First Triathlon World Championships!"

Alduin merely hummed in reply, carrying his bags to the car set to take them to their hotel. All the arrangements had been made months ago, and now the only thing was the Fun Run, then qualifying.

Athletes

Alder Yurov is, and always has been, reserved. Growing up in a war torn country, his parents were granted refugee status in Rohane Alista when he was as young as nine. Since that day he has always found running to be the best way to spend his time, something his gym teacher in middle school, a former semi-pro triathlete noticed. That gym teacher proved to be the best trainer Alder could've asked for, as he was set on his path towards being a world class triathlete at a young age.

It was a few years of intense training and small wins from Alder Yurov before he really burst onto the scene. However, at the age of 17 he competed in the Calihain Super-Tri, a national championship qualifier. In that competition, he blew the rest of the athletes away, finishing in first by almost half an hour. He found the National Championships much more difficult, however, as he came in third; but his star had already risen.

A few years later, at age 19, Alder won his first National Championship. He would win it twice more in a row, becoming the first athlete to ever win it three or more times in a row, before he joined international competition in the Third Star Triathlon, which gave rise to his international career. The rest is history in the making.

Kristen Roedder, on the other hand, is still a mystery. She's only competed in the NAtional championships twice, is tight lipped about her start, and has no recorded small competition wins. Despite this, she's the only person other than Alder to win the Rohane Alista NAtional Triathlon Championships in the last five years, and was able to qualify for the world championships from her first ever international appearance.

Accused of cheating in the past, Kristen has undergone many voluntary evaluations, tests, and observation periods. Each time has shown the same thing: Kristen has incredible talent, and isn't, as far as anyone can tell, cheating in any form. This has led to more young triathletes trying modified versions of her workouts, with mixed levels of success. The one thing that all those trying it have reported, however, is that the schedule is grueling, requiring one push themselves to the very edge of endurance daily.

Kristen is, outside the sport, much more open. Her bubbly personality, good lucks, and quick wit have quickly made her a favorite of Rohane Alista's entertainment media, and caused her to become the second best paid athlete in the country (behind only Alder himself). She topped last year's Rohanian Gazette's Most Eligible Bachelorettes list, due to a combination of her good lucks, wealth, successful career, and wonderful personality. The only way her stock could rise would be an excellent showing in the world championships; winning would make her easily the most important sports star in Rohane Alista.

HopNation Triathletes
Arnold Erdmann Stumpf
Arnold is one of the greatest triathlete to come out of HopNation, and he is getting better with each competition he enters. Arnold excels at the shorter distances but is open to anything as long as it involves some swimming, biking, and running. When watching him compete he does seem like an good athlete too, he has made exceptional improvements in his swimming and no longer looks like a drowned cat struggling to keep a float. If we had to choose a best attribute for Arnold it would have to be his cycling ability, he really knows how to ride. We look for him to make up anything lost in the swim on the bike. Arnold said he is looking forward to this final tournament in the current cycle and is looking for some much needed rest once it is all finished.

In Stumpf's daily life he works as a structural engineer. He has worked on many of the stadiums throughout HopNation for his firm. He is unmarried and lives by himself with his dog Beans. While not working or training he is often found watching sports with his friends.

Jörg Ulrich Halle
Halle is an up and comer who finished well in the prior events leading up to this one. He has been maintaining his endurance by running everywhere, I mean everywhere. If he has to go to the mall, he runs, to the grocery market, he runs, to his families house in another state within HopNation, well he runs. Although he prefers the shorter distances he is no stranger to the longer sets and we look for him to perform well at this Olympic distance. If we had to pick a best discipline for him it would be his running, which is where he caught many athletes that were ahead of him after both the swimming and cycling stages in events where he trails at those stages. We fully expect Halle to make the Final here, he also said he was looking forward to the Fun Run “It will be a nice change of pace to just be out with the others prior to competing against them” he said.

Halle enjoys everything triathlons and when not training he is usually found studying body mechanics. He is currently finishing his undergraduate degree in physical therapy. His family (parents and two brothers) were killed in a plane crash when he was 14 and has lived with his aunt, Sarah, since then. He is smart and focuses on school almost as much as his triathlons.

Warren VonHopton
The veteran, the rock to this team, VonHopton is an excellent triathlete and has proven his age is no match for others he competes with. He lives up to the old adage, ‘Better with Age’. With his most recent endeavor ending with him finishing just behind teammate Halle we expect him to advance to the Final here. The one thing that gets VonHopton in trouble sometimes is his swimming, something he has been working on but it is still his worst discipline. On the other hand his cycling and running are both top notch. He had the fastest cycling/running split in the final stage of the tournament that he finished first in. We always expect good things from VonHopton.

Warren is one of HopNation's founders, has three children and a wonderful wife. He does not deal with major National decisions anymore, although he is consulted on a good chunk of them. He mostly enjoys spending time with his family and does triathlons to stay in shape and as he put it "keeps me young".

You can do what you want as far as including my triathletes in your RPs, just don’t kill them. I also reserve the right to modify any injuries given to them, only relating to recovery time, if they happen to DNF.

Bios/Roster



Timbermunich has two qualified individuals entered into the Triathlon World Championships and they will surely be followed closely by all Timbermünchners, especially since they will be competing for a chance at elite status. The nation as a whole, with regards to its triathletes, is currently ranked 6th. But we all know that can change rather quickly. Now let’s take a closer look at each one and the equipment they will be utilizing for the triathlon.

First up is Great Battle (formerly had Axe at the end of his name, but has since been removed) who is currently 40th on the NTA Rankings, has dropped a bit due to his poor performance after qualifying for the Championships. Great Battle is our main leader and at this point in his life stage is estimated to be over 200 years old. He is the very first of all Greats in Timbermunich and he along with fellow competitor, Great One-Arm Willy, helped forge the path that Timbermunich has come down. He currently resides in the Heart Canopy and leads fellow Greats in the protection of all of Timbermunich. Great Battle is currently on his third Senescence, the most by any Great so far, he is also the oldest of all Greats. He has many children all of which were found to contain the same Greatness that he has and they now live within the Heart Canopy as well. Great Battle has proven he has some good athleticism as he has competed in many sports during his Senescence. He finds Triathlons enjoyable as they test his overall endurance rather than just brute strength.

Next we have Great One-Arm Willy who was at one time Great Battles pupil. The two spend many hours together when Willy was growing up and was with Great Battle when he lost his arm. Great One-Arm Willy is seen as second in command throughout Timbermunich and was an integral part of getting the Nation to where it is now. Like Great Battle, Willy has many children and all were found to have the same Greatness. They too live within the Heart Canopy as Greats protecting all of Timbermunich. Great One-Arm Willy has been a big part of the sports teams of Timbermunich during his two Senescence and even though he sometimes struggles in triathlons he still finds them to be good competition as they are truly challenging. He is currently ranked 28th after performing rather well in the last event. He hopes to make the final of the Championships.






Equipment
For the first time Timbermunich has an official Triathlete Suite. This is a state of the art suite produced by our neighbors, HopNation. We thank them for the production of these suites and think they will help the three triathletes perform at their best.

We will also have new bicycles for this event. They have been custom made, also in HopNation, just for our athlete’s unique riding style. The bike, however, do not have a place for holding their axes so Great Battle might be a little made at that little omission. But nonetheless these are great bikes and should keep our athletes well in the mix of things.

You may use our triathletes in any way you see fit, but know that Greats cannot be killed (we are still unsure if they ever die) or injured. Well they can be injured but heal at an extraordinary rate so can never be knocked from a competition. They are a brawny bunch and prefer events that highlight their strength, but don’t be fooled as they have very good endurance as well.

Alex Sampson, 22, is largely unknown in his home country, with triathlon being a sport that often slips under the radar. However, finishing second in the Ironman in Rohane Alista and representing his country at the recent Olympiad has meant the Port James athlete has enjoyed one of his best seasons to date.

Sampson got into triathlon via his running and it is his strongest of the three disciplines. He is typically a very strong finisher, and is well known for his strong running in the closing stages. Regarding the weaker side of his game it is often his swimming that can be his undoing as was the case in Rohane where he finished second behind Britonisea's Johnson Rodgers.

Sampson comes into the tournament of the back of a strong showing in the national championships where he picked up gold finishing just ahead of Lewis Cameron. He will be very much aware however, of the up hill task he will face to pull of the same feat at the world championships.

RP: Regarding RPing I'm more than happy for people to do whatever they want, just please don't kill or permanently injure him.

RIVERSIDE CITY - From Competitions to Fireworks, Riverside City will be hosting the Starian Fun Run for the first edition of the Triathlon World Championship!

Fifteen Triathletes have been called to the borders of Star United States to participate in the first official event of the Triathlon World Championship, and even though no one gets eliminated here, tensions will be high, as the Triathletes survey each other and prepare for the for the days to come.

Carson Star, Domingo Clark, Johnson Rodgers, Oliver King, Alder Yurov, Kristen Roedder, Great One-Arm Willy, Wodilhilt Braun, Kathi Betsold, Louiza Kravža, Marinius Klasson, Jorg Ulrich Halle, Warren VonHopton, Ruiko Saten, and Dayes Ferlo will all be running the Fun Run here at Riverside City's Athletic Complex Center, also known as the Waterside Athletic Complex Center.

This group is an interesting mix, with four of the fifteen participants from the host states, which is Carson Star and Oliver King of Star United States, and Wareen VonHopton and Jorg Ulrich Halle from HopNation.

THE STARIAN GROUP... GROUP B
On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, ten triathletes will put thier hearts into the qualifying round here in Riverside City, while twenty of them battle it out in HopNation!

Welcome to the Kids Fun Run were we are all set to have all these youngsters partake in a fun run and bike sponsored by TriWear and Hydroclear. The kids will all be running at the same time today with bib numbers pertaining to their age group. TriWear has provided us with rental bikes free to those kids that need one for the bike ride section of this kids fun run, while Hydroclear has provided tanks of crisp clean water throughout the course as well as bottled water at the start and finish areas. Hydroclear is also generously providing lunch for all the participants and their families after the event. “Sure, I mean I guess I’m ready.”
“That’s good, me too.”
“Anyone worry you out there?”
“Nah, you know I don’t worry. I mean sure there are some good triathletes here but this is after all the final event of this year and you had to qualify to get in.”
“Sure, sure, but what about those three from our neighbors?”
“Who, the HopNation trio? No, they don’t worry me. They have that fancy training center and the gear to back it up, but anyone can be beat.”
“I know that, but they are good.”
“I’d be watching that Kristen Roedder lady, she seems pretty good.”
“Perhaps she is, what about that Ivins guy?”
“Yeah, Zach is always dangerous.”
“Do you like the new suites from the last event and the new bikes?”
“I do, I love them.”

There is a small pause as the two men finish packing there things. They stand up and start to shake hands, linking at the forearm as apposed to a typical handshake.

“Okay, Battle. I guess I’ll see you after this fun run and then Group stage thing.”
“Yes Willy, I’ll be waiting to hear how you did and hopefully we can be together in the final too.”
“That would be nice.”
“You never said who you were thinking about in your group or if you were nervous.”
“I’m a little nervous, I mean, like you said these are the best but I’m ready.”

“I’ll be trying to stay with Clark I think or maybe that Johnson Rogers person. That will likely set me up for a strong finish.”

Well here we go folks; the opening ceremonies have come and gone. We’ve had our fun run which looks like one of our three triathletes will be getting a small boost going into the qualification race. But who or how the hell did we get all three of our triathletes into the same group (Group C)? That could pose a problem in regards to sending all three of them to the final, which I know from talking to all three of them is something they desperately want to do.

“It’s going to be tough out there, these are the best triathletes from all around and having to face off against our teammates on the opening day is also going to be very tough.”

VonHopton was quoted when I spoke to him, he also felt that running in front of a home crowd will be exciting and hopefully help them along the way. He was glad to see all of the visiting nations and all the fans that are here to support them, which might also reduce their home advantage if there even is one. This report is unconvinced of any advantage at home when it comes to this event. From visiting other events like this around the multiverse the fans are something else and seem to cheer equally well for all participants as they swim, bike, and run. Sure they are a little louder and more encouraging when their fellow country men/women go past, but they still cheer for everyone. It’s really a great sight to see.

In the Hops group we’ll have to watch Lëo Kiplikæt who is coming in after some very good performances. We’ll also be watching for Zach Ivins, he always seems to find his way into the finals of almost all his events. There are a couple others too that perform very well under pressure and I’m sure they will be looking to knock some of the top ranked athletes out of this event during the group stage.

As for the other groups, I’m not worried about those…yet. I mean sure there are other greats out there, like in Group A you’ll find the likes of Ruiko Saten, George Jordan and Marinius Klasson. Two of the other hosts triathletes are in that group too, Aytson Pase and Carson Star. Then you have Group B with Oliver King, Domingo Clark, and Richard Lee. So we’ll see who all comes out of those groups and makes it to the final. I’ll just be glad when this qualification round is over and we see who makes it to that final.

HopNation Groups A + C
Bayern, Hefebayern

The Course
Today’s action is being held on an extended version of the Nasser Hund sprint series course (sprint series course 2 of the Tri-Hop) in Bayern, the extended version will bring it up to the Olympic Distance standards (1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run). There will be a single staging area for this course and it will be on the northern side of Saccharific Lake (western part of Bayern), all stages will be an out and back format. This course’s swimming stage will take place in Saccharific Lake and will be in a teardrop shaped following a series of buoys, keeping those buoys on their left side for the entire swim. Once they have exited the water they will pass through the staging area to their bicycles and head north on the cycling section. This cycling portion will turn around after a short climb up the base of The Hallertautops Mountain Range and head back to the staging area along the same roadway. The athletes will return their bicycles to the staging area and head to the east on the road running course. The running course will follow the roadways of Bayern and loop back around the cities central park, ending back at the staging area. The cycling course is a gradual uphill climb on the way out (a little steeper as you progress into the mountain range) and then entirely downhill on the way back to the staging area (smoothing out to completely flat a km or so from Bayan). The running course is very flat, but is on a winding roadway with views of the lake to the south and the mountain range can be seen between buildings to the north.

The Stakes
This is it; this is what we’ve been waiting for, the Qualifying Stage of the NTA World Championships. We have a total of 30 triathletes, 15 in SUS and 15 in HPN, which have been invited for one last hurrah! They’ve proven they have what it takes to finish strong, many of them claiming gold, silver, or bronze in prior NTA events or the Olympic Games, but now it’s for all the marbles. Participants here are vying for one of 15 spots in the Final. That means just 5 out of the 10 in each group will be advancing for a shot at being crowned the FIRST Nationstates Triathlon Association’s World Champion. All the triathletes look primed and ready to go, their gear is set and teams have their last minute adjustments in place. Now is the time to get out there and prove what you’re made of. Will they be going home, falling short of their goal and bowing out early, or will they be going for glory and traveling to Star United States for the Final? We will soon find out.

TRIATHLON HEADLINES


Groups A & C
George Jordan, Warren VonHopton, Lëo Kiplikæt, Kristen Roedder, Aytson Pase, Arnold Erdmann Stumpf, Jörg Ulrich Halle, Carson Star, Alex Sampson, Ruiko Saten have all taken their seats in the final run. George Jordan took the victory in Group A under 110 minutes! He was followed by Ayston Pase, who finished about two minutes after. Three minutes later, Carson Star stepped over the finish line, and within seconds was followed by Alex Sampson and Ruiko Saten.

In Group C, Warren VonHopton took the lead with one hour and fifty minutes, and was followed by Lëo Kiplikæt fifteen seconds later. Kristen Roedder managed third, while Arnold Erdmann Stumpf and Jorg Ulrich Halle followed behind. Great Battle, also known as Great Battle Axe, got sixth, and Wodilhilt Braun got seventh. Zach Ivins, Annette Morissette, and Louiza Karvza ended at the bottom of the table.

Ten triathletes are yet to compete in Riverside City here in Star United States who will produce the last five entering into the final stage of this Championship. The Waterside Athletic Center will be hosting the encounter between Group B,and is composed of three soccer fields, eleven tennis courts, and a pool plus other minor locations. The swimming portion of the event will begin at the pool, where after they will begin the cycling section of the tournament that will go around the center and finish at the entrance of the first soccer field, where the running portion will be located.

A quadrouple whammy. The 4 Britonish Commonwealth men sprint their way to finals later this week.

ALL Britonish Commonwealth players has gone through to the nexg round making it high medal contentions for a gold medal. It is not for certain that we will win but a very high chance. Guy Majifi and Johnson Rogers both came through in their group as they came 2nd and 3rd which was a 3 second difference. You should of seen them fighting for 2nd but Johnson didn't have enough speed so Guy took the second place.what a victory for two brilliant men. George Jordan surprisingly beat Ayton Pase to become first In his group in HopNation. He was clear of the lead by 3 minutes . Great winner. Warren might of come first in the other group but our Lëo came 2nd by 15 seconds. He had to hurry up as be
behind him there was trouble. So he created a 20 secpnd gap! All these guys deserve it to be honest.

WE SURVIVED

Well, I didn’t see that coming but I’ll take it. We advanced all three members of our squad, which I pointed out would be extremely hard to do here. If you need confirmation of the tight race, just look at the times and finishing positions. VonHopton finished a mere 15 seconds ahead of Lëo Kiplikæt and 35 seconds ahead of Kristen Roedder. Those three were followed up by Stumpf and Halle just two minutes later, and only 4 seconds apart from one another. This rounded out the qualifiers from our group, Group C, with Great Battle just out of reach only 1 minute and 39 seconds later. So, as you can see the group was highly contested and everyone put up a good fight.

One other thing I was surprised with, well not entirely surprised, was the fan support shown. The course was lined with spectators from all over the multiverse, I even saw a few flags from nations not even competing here which is a good sign that the Triathlon is gaining, even if just fractional, support from everywhere. I should mention that the swimming section didn’t have many fans watching, but that can be attributed to some of the shoreline not being accessible due to a new pier being put in. The other sections, biking and running, had ample support throughout each section. The other surprise to the crowds was their orderly fashion and mutual support of every one of the participants. So, cheers to all of you that went out and watched this event and helped build on the atmosphere that was along the race course.

Now I know I’m a little bias on this next subject, but hey I can be since I’m from here. I think the organizers here in HopNation did an excellent job presenting these early stages of the NTA World Championships. I mean those opening ceremonies were top notch, again a bit bias here. The fun run was excellent and I for one thank the two key sponsors, TriWear and Hydroclear, in their efforts to get youngsters involved as well as offering great prizes throughout the Fun Run event. It looks like Star United States has done an equal job on their Fun Run and Qualifying, I’ll be traveling there to catch the final where I’m looking forward to seeing the SUS side in action as well as the top 15 triathletes in the world battling it out to see who will be crowned the first ever Triathlon World Champion.

“Thank you, thank you. I’m sorry to hear you came so close but fell just short of also making the final.”
“Yes, it was a good race” the two shake hands in their typical way, clasping forearms “but I just couldn’t keep up in those last couple miles of running.”
“You did your best that’s all we can do for Timbermunich”
“Very true, you remind me of that often after I don’t do as well as I hoped.”
“Just trying to keep your moral up, after all you’ve done that for me all these years.”
“Pupil becomes teacher I suppose.”

The two men head into the Star Athletic Complex Center in the City of Star. They are bringing Great One-Arm Willy’s gear into the complex so it is ready for the final tomorrow. Both look tired from the previous days event but their heads are high and hope is within them for things to come.

“Do you know where we are going?”
“No, not exactly, but I have this map which was provided before I left HopNation.”
“How was the event there?”
“It was okay I guess, I mean I’m still a little unhappy with my finish, but the accommodations and the event were good.”
“I enjoyed the fireworks they had for the opening ceremonies.”
“Me too, I could have done without those clowns in the middle of the day though. For some reason they creep me out, you would think they wouldn’t with everything I’ve seen over the years but men in makeup just get to me.”
“Yeah I’m not sure on that one either” Willy says laughing
“Turn here”
“Does it look like we are close? I need to get some rest.”
“Looks like it, did your stay and race go well? I forgot to ask you earlier.”
“It did go well. I came in first place of our group!”
“Excellent! Ah there we are looks like we store the bikes up ahead then there is a room for other gear to the left.”
“I felt great and got a great night sleep the night before the hotel was superb as well.”
“That’s good to hear, you didn’t go out to fast or anything did you?”
“I don’t think so, the whole race felt good. I am a little worn out today, but I’m thinking that was because a few of us went out last night.”
“You did?”
“Yes, we went to this restaurant which had great food and drink. I do think we stayed out a bit to late though so it will be early to bed tonight so I’m prepared for tomorrow.”
“Once we are finished here we should go to the hotel and then on a little muscle relaxing jog. I think that will help loosen you up and then we’ll get you some good food before turning in early for a nights rest.”
“Sounds good to me, I’m almost finished.”

The two finish putting Great One-Arm Willy’s gear in the staging area and then return to their hotel. They go on a 5 mile easy jog and then clean up before heading out into the City of Star to find some food. They return after finding a great place to eat and turn in for the night to be fully ready for Great One-Arm Willy’s race.

A loud voice then boomed through the stadium: “Ladies and Gentlemen, children of all ages, people around the multiverse, welcome to Star United States and to the closing ceremony of the first Triathlon World Championship…”

Lights flickered quickly, as a two men rose on an elevator from under the elevated stage.
The voice continued, “... Your hosts, Jake and Max…”

“I still don’t understand why he has to say your name first!” exclaimed Max, as he voice echoed in the filled stadium, “I bet you payed him, didn’t you?”
“I don’t know Max, I always tell you this! Anyway, welcome all to Star United States!”
“Yeah, we’ll talk about this later…” Max said as he glared.

“From the north to the south, from the east to west, from anywhere and everywhere people have together this week to celebrate the joyfulness in this triathlon event, and to be witness to the first ever Triathlon World Championship…”
Bursts of applauses are heard and echo through the stadium.

“It’s is now to time to conclude this event, and uplift the triathletes who have had the honor to participate in this wonderful event…”

Max was lowered back under the stage as the band was lifted on.
The band begun to play their song as the transitions happened...

A well dressed man was elevated onto the stage...


"Good evening everybody!! It is now the time for the flag parade!...

First up is the flag of Star United States, who was represented by three triathletes, Carson Star, Oliver King, and Ayston Pase!”

The three triathletes walked on the running track, around the stadium following their national flag.

"Hello all, welcome to our country, we hope you have enjoyed your stay here. It is my pleasure to able to present the final medals and trophies, I would like to invite to the stage with me the coordinator and staff of this event of Star United States and HopNation to join me on the stage.
The group of people moved onto the stage and alined themselves in a straight line, with HopNation's staff on the left side of the President, and Star United States on the other side.

"Please welcome with a loud round of applause, Warren VonHopton of HopNation; Carson Star of Star United States; and Guy Majifi of Britonisea..."
The round applause was well clapped in the stadium as it echoed.

"I present Warren VonHopton with a gold medal and to the HopNation Triathlon Association a golden trophy."
Cross places the golden medal around VonHopton's neck and hands over the golden trophy. VonHopton walks down the line of the staff and gives them all a handshake as the population in the stadium applaud.

"For achieving second place, I present Carson Star will a silver medal and a silver trophy for his national triathlon association."

WINNER WINNER
What a great event! I mean sure I’m again a bit bias on it, especially since our nation helped host some of it, but a first place finish! Awesome, just awesome. The only thing that would have been better would have been a sweep of the medals, but when you get the best of the best on the same course you’re bound to not get what you want.

We did walk away with the title of all titles for Warren VonHopton – NTA WORLD CHAMPION – plus we had a respectable fourth place finish with Stumpf, then we had (what I’m sure he sees as a disappointing finish) Halle in eleventh. VonHopton told me that the trophy would be making it’s way around HopNation over the next couple of months and then be officially on display at the Junior Training Center in Bayern, Hefebayern. There will also be a return celebration for the three triathletes at that center once they get back from Star United States.

I’d like to thank the great people of Star United States as well. Thank them for their hospitality, excellent event, cities, and atmosphere around the entire championships. They along with HopNation (bias again) did an excellent job managing the itinerary, athletes, and many guests that visited each nation. Hopefully we will see/hear more from them seen about the next season of the NTA events, which I think starts up right back here in HopNation.

Lets take a look at our final fifteen for a little bit before getting to VonHopton’s comments on the win. First off we had a total of 9 nations represented in the final, which is great to see the variety of nations involved. They all came from different background and triathlon experiences, and all of them seemed to play into the final event and how it finished. Looking back at some of the past events I think this was the closest event final of the season, which when considering it is a Final FINAL that is a good thing. There were just over 8 minutes separating all 15 participants, amazing. Then there was only 25 seconds separating VonHopton from Carson Star, again amazing. Just a minute twelve separated the three medalists, with 2 minutes 2 seconds between the top 5, truly a special event. There were a total of 12 lead changes from the time they hit the water to the final steps of the run, granted there were only 4 different leaders but still that’s a lot of front of the race action. No one seemed to pull away nor fall behind in this one and it was exciting to watch from start to finish. I can’t wait to see how the next season plays out and if we’ll have any returning triathletes vying for the top spot of if a new name will emerge from the mix to claim victory. It will be exciting to see.

I was able to catch up with Warren VonHopton just after the finish and this is what he had to say:

“I’d first like to thank my teammates and staff for providing the training, equipment, and support to make this possible. I’d like to thank the other competitors for pushing all of us to a great finish to the year!”
“We’re not in a hurry Warren, take your time, get some water in you.”
“I’m fine, really I’m fine. We’ve been working so hard to get here, to tune our bodies in hopes to even make the final. To win it means a great deal to me, to HopNation, and our triathlon community as a whole. I’d like to thank Star United States for the fine facilities here and the event couldn’t have happened with out so many of them here. To my competitors, Carson Star who fought me to the end condolences with great congratulations on the second place but thank you for pushing me through to the finish. Majifi, it’s been a pleasure to compete with you throughout the year and congratulations on third place. Stump and Halle, thank you for working with me all year to get here and push through many of the strenuous workouts we did together. I’m forgetting a bunch, but thank you to all the triathletes that made this event and pushed all of us to an exciting race. I better get going Ringwald, thank you for covering our event for us. I’ll be in touch soon.”

There you have it, straight from the winners mouth, very appreciative of the people that got him here and to event organizers. I don’t think I can add to his words or the sound of pure joy in his voice, so farewell until next time.
