The Eagle's Club is proud to present Eagles Cup V, the first modern era re-incarnation of the historic Eagle's Cup. 16 esteemed nations from throughout the multiverse will compete over 9 Matchdays to lift the Eagle's Cup and earn their place in the Eagle's Club, securing their place in future Eagle's Cups.

Format :: The 16 nations will be split into 4 groups of 4 teams. In each group, the 4 teams will play each other nation twice, once at a stadium of their choosing and once at a stadium of their opponents choosing. From there, the top 2 nations in the group table will advance to the Quarter Finals which will be held at the Eagle's Club in Eelandii, Turori. The winners of the Quarter Final matches will receive a special trophy from the Eagle's Club that also grants the nations honorary status with the Eagle's Club for one competition cycle. The final four nations will advance to the Semi-Finals at Tropicorp Park as will the Championship match, where the winner will be crowned champion and granted entry into the Eagle's Club. A third place playoff will be contested back at the Eagle's Club.

The Eagle's Club shall fill these slots with Non-Member nations by means of Selection, Invitation or Application as necessary to fill the field.

Should the previous cycles Eagle's Cup semi-finalists include Eagle's Club members, or, should any of the previous cycles Eagle's Cup Semi-Finalists fail to send a delegation to the Eagle's Cup, the Eagle's Club Semi-Finalist's allocation to the Cup shall be reduced accordingly. The Eagle's Club shall fill these slots with Non-Member nations by means of Selection, Invitation or Application as necessary to fill the field.

Eagle's Club members the Island Emirate of Turori remain active and are the current host nation of the Eagle's Club.

Eagle's Cup IV Semi Finalists :: It is not expected that the Nation of the Belmore Family will send a delegation to Eagle's Cup V. Through extensive research, it has been determined that the slot earned by NEWI Cefn Druids may be extended to the modern day nation of Schiavonia. The nation of Audioslavia is also expected to send a delegation.

With 3 of the 7 guaranteed invitations accounted for, and a further 3 delegations not expected to participate, the Eagle's Club awaits only the status of the delegation from the Unified Capitalizt States.

Per the bylaws, the 3 slots vacated by absent delegations, as well as the 8 tournament slots that have gone unreserved due to the small size of the Eagle's Club, a total of 11 slots, shall be decided upon by the Eagle's Club Council, currently represented by the Island Emirate of Turori.

At least 1 Additional slot in the Eagle's Cup is available to the first complete and valid application submitted to the Eagles Club. Additional slots may be made available to non-member applicants if selected delegations are unable to participate.

The Eagle's Club have decided to allocate the 11 vacated competition slots in two groups, the Eagle's Select and the Eagle's Invitation. The Eagle's Select will include prior Eagle's Cup participants recognized for their past contributions to the Eagle's Cup. These nations include Legalese and Vilita, both of whom participated in Eagle's Cup IV but did not qualify for automatic invitation through Final Four placement. Up to 4 additional nations will be announced as Eagle's Select. The remainder of the vacated slots will be filled by the Eagle's Invitation recipients.

As Invitations are sent out, and delegations formed, all participants will be informed. The draw for groups will take place once 16 Delegations have been identified and the competition will start at the conclusion of the World Cup Final.

THE HOLY EMPIRE EAGLE'S CUP SQUAD

While the nation took a long break from WCs 8 through 24, the Holy Empire is proud to be the only active footballing nation to have participated in WC1.

The World Cup 69 finalists will enter their World Cup 69 "Cup of Chaps" squad; they're a fine batch of chaps, I'm sure we'll all agree.
As the national coat of arms demonstrates, they're also rather fond of eagles.

The Squad

The Chaps of the Imperial Club

Image
(pictured after a spot of training via a manly game of cricket)

From left to right:
(Note that members of the Imperial Club take pseudonyms upon joining the club; so names don't follow usual Imperial naming conventions)

General Arnold "Iron-Nails" Dogsbody (team calisthenics instructor); Sir Nigel Sensibly Smythington-Foxe (seated; goal); Percival Featherstonhaugh-Fuchs [pronounced fanshaw-fooks] (standing; defence); Octavian Augustus Tiberius Claudius Browne (defence); Juan Tzimisces (seated; manager); Senator Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel (defence); Isaac, Prince Imperial (forward; captain); Sir Hubert His Magnificencenessnessness (midfield); Simeone Di Bradini (seated; assistant manager); Cuthbert Cuthbert Cuthbert, Lord Waldegrave (midfield); Sir Ambrose "Knicker-Twister" FitzThomas (midfield); Horatio Hercules Trevelyan-Tyrwhitt [pronounced terrifying-twit], Strategos of the Opsician Theme (seated; midfield); Archibald Darcy de Knayth, Dux of Lower Uppington (midfield); B.W.Q. Montgomery Xavier, Lord Dundonald-D'eath (forward).

Style Modifiers / formation

Frosty football is attacking football. The Holy Empire always plays a 3-5-2 formation using overlapping wingers that turns into 3-3-4 on the counterattack.

OOC'ly, for the purposes of scorination, the team uses the maximum attacking style modifier permitted by each cup's hosts.

Lineup

Isaac, Prince Imperial --- Lord Dundonald-D'eath

Dux Darcy de Knayth --- His Magnificencenessnessness --- Lord Waldegrave --- "Knicker-Twister" FitzThomas --- Strategos Trevelyan-Tyrwhitt

Featherstonhaugh-Fuchs --- Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel --- Browne

Smythington-Foxe

Coaches:

The team coach remains World Cup Hall of Fame legend Juan Tzimisces.

The assistant coach is Starblaydi World Cup Hall of Fame legend Simeone Di Bradini.

Kit
The team will wear famous Imperial Gold and Red, as worn by the Holy Empire since WC1

The thing is, they'll be wearing it as Victorian-style sporting clothes; so it'll look like a long-sleeved shirt and knickerbockers .

A spoilered version of the modern kit is included for reference.

Renewing our commitment to fight discrimination
Official statement in response to Eagle’s Club

The Paripana Sporting Council remains resolutely opposed to discrimination of any kind, and in accordance with the principles of Olympism, we decline to coöperate with any organization which does not uphold these same values, except to the extent needed to enable our members to compete at the highest possible level. Unfortunately, the Eagle’s Club does not share our stance, and we shall not compromise our founding principles by accepting an invitation to such a club.

The Eagle’s Club has been established for the purpose of organizing a recurring tournament, known as the Eagle’s Cup, between select national teams. Although the club itself has not set out any rules regarding the eligibility of players, it has invited several football associations to the upcoming Eagle’s Cup which regularly participate in the World Cup and other competitions, have imposed rules restricting eligibility for their teams to citizens of their respective states, and are expected to impose similar rules with regard to the Eagle’s Cup. By inviting these associations to participate, the Eagle’s Club implicitly condones their discrimination on the basis of political allegiance.

Even disregarding the actions of the Eagle’s Club itself, the Paripana Sporting Council shall not abide these associations’ unconscionable discrimination by fielding a team to compete against theirs. As the Eagle’s Cup is not a top-level championship of any sort, our members have no sporting interest which can sustain an exception to our anti-discrimination policy.

Furthermore, the Eagle’s Club’s choice of a product named “Manly Balls” as the official match ball of the Eagle’s Cup only serves to promote stereotypical notions of manliness as inherently good, implying that women and their womanly traits are unwelcome at the Eagle’s Cup in particular, and in football in general. Although they are not directly responsible for naming the product, it is inconceivable that the Eagle’s Club would have chosen such a ball over the many others on the market, most of which have vastly superior aerodynamic properties that will be more familiar to footballers who play in UICA competitions and high-level leagues, unless it was their intention to discriminate against women or womanliness. To overlook this attitude would do a disservice not only to our own principles, but also to the legacy of the Bedistan Football Association, which had embraced the participation of women in football since its founding nearly a quarter-millennium ago.

For all these reasons, the Paripana Sporting Council rejects its invitation to join the Eagle’s Club, and urges both the club and all participants in the Eagle’s Cup to reconsider their actions and make a pledge to oppose discrimination in all its forms.

Sylvia Ferguson
Chairman, Paripana Sporting Council

WEST ANGOLAN DELEGATION FOR EAGLE'S CUP V

Image

Fifteen people- Isaac Warren, Jan Pawel, Blake Green, and twelve of the seventeen national players chose not to return to "Unified Angola" after the Cup of Harmony, and instead journeyed to Farreth Island to join Paul Arrat's Government-in-Exile. Warren will coach his final tournament before handing off the reins to Jan Pawel, who will take on Blake Green as his assistant. The twelve players who accompanied the coaches to Farreth return, accompanied by a handful of other exiles to round out the roster.

COACHING STAFF:

Head Coach: Isaac Warren- A forward for the team since the beginning, Warren was kidnapped and poisoned during World Cup 61. He was nearly killed, and the chemicals ravaged his body beyond condition for football. Planning to retire following World Cup 69, Warren instead took the reins of leadership on the team following Garren's death guided the team during the 61st Cup of Harmony. With the split the team suffered after the tournament, Warren will coach his final international set in Eagle's Cup V before retiring to finish out his days dreaming of the land he once knew.
Age: 66

Assistant Coach: Jan Pawel- Pawel has been both a midfielder and a defender in his career, and over the course of Phillip Garren's shifting strategies, has played nearly everywhere on the pitch at one point or another, at one point even filling the crucial role of transitioning from the 4-4-2 to the 4-2-4 on the attack. Isaac Warren asked Pawel to serve as his assistant during the Cup of Harmony, with the tacit signal that he would be succeeding to the coaching duties after Warren's retirement. That appears to have come to pass, as Pawel will spend the tournament preparing to fully take over for his friend and mentor.
Age: 41

Keeper's Coach: Blake Green- Green was a suitable replacement to Jacob Kerys, as he was slightly less talented but made up for it by being vastly more consistent, which helped relieve pressure from West Angola's defense. Green was originally part of a trio of area-specific coaches along with Parrish for the attack and Pawel for the defenders, but the deaths and promotions have left him alone. With no time to find suitable replacements, Green may find himself somewhat of a "third wheel" on the staff with only and assistant and head coach accompanying him. He will take Pawel's position as assistant coach after this tournament.

About Legalese

Legalese is a gargantuan, cultured nation in the hallowed Northeast of Atlantian Oceania. It consists of two landmasses, the mainland and
the more recently-settled Karin Islands, and is located on the eastern side of the Calanian continent, between Lake Bekk on the west,
Audioslavia to the east, Starblaydia to the north, and Unolia to the south. For nearly three centuries, the People of Legalese have spent the majority
of their history in the shadow of their neighbors, including two periods of occupation by Starblaydia. Now, with the last occupation being something
their grandparents dealt with for most, they no longer just seek their own survival, but a place in the international community. After finishing fourth
in World Cup 69 and returning to the Eagles' Cup for its revival, that place seems secure.

The Team
Order is shirt number, name, age, and club team. Players playing outside the LigAnia or The Leaguealese noted with the league of the club

The Staff
Manager: Ben Gammal. Gamma, in his early thirties, seemed both a sensible yet surprising choice to replace the outgoing Stan Thate as the next manager. While young and low on experience, Gammal's CV is already fairly strong. A former club player in Comunas, he was tapped to lead the side as they joined the Legalese National Championship system some six years ago. In that time, he has led the Cougars to two National Championships, two national cup victories, and a record of overperformance with a side often underestimated. He debuted with the National side during AOCAF XLIV with a quarterfinal finish, keeping up the hopes of the Legalites. The one disadvantage he holds to his predecessor, however, is the fact that he has to survive qualifying first.

Head Coach: Liam Todd. Todd, in his late thirties as well, has followed a path similar to his former boss - a decade of International play, followed by transitioning into a player-coach role, before retiring from play entirely to take a full-time coaching role. The former defender epitomizes the attacking style of the NT, having scored a dozen goals to go with the countless number he helped prevent.

The Eleven

As Legalite football tends to be attacking/possessive in its style, they will play with a +4 modifier.

The Kits
The Legalites will again wear the kits provided by Kirola of Audioslavia. The most recent edition of the shirts debuted for the World Cup 68 Finals:

Stadia
With three matches scheduled to be played at home, the Federation has chosen to adopt a traveling circus method for the Eagles' Cup, using stadia not usually in the rotation for the National Team - though all three had the honor of hosting World Cup 68 matches. With the opposition now known, the full schedule follows below:

MD 1: vs. Royal Quebec
The Coliseum, Tyrellia. While small by the standards of the rest of the nation, Tyrellia’s history and status outstrip its relative size with great ease. Hailing back to the days of the Karin people, who once formed the nation of Casari, the city is as old, if not older than even Francis City in concept. That said, it is not believed that the modern iteration forms much of a true relationship with the original, save the existence of two major clubs in the city: International of Tyrellia, who play in the suburban highlands of International Pitch, and the oft-successful Tyrellia Titans, who play downtown in The Coliseum. The Coliseum is an elliptical bowl stadium, designed with some of the same principles that were later used on Francis City’s City Stadium. Seating 63,254, The seating pitch and angle helps keep the sound inside the bowl, creating a deafening atmosphere for all who enter it – something that has both helped and hurt the Titans at home.

MD 2: vs. San Jose Guayabal
Caerangelion, Numalia. Numalia, the "little brother" city to the larger neighbor Francis City, is a mainland port city in the northern straitside coast; despite being the smaller city of the two, it is also the one with better football, via club side Draig Goch FC; the Red Dragons, as they are known, have been a mainstay in competition, including winning the last National League title. Their success on the pitch has come with a full house each week at their home pitch, Caerangelion, a term from the old Nom Le language literally meaning “Home of the Angels”, but generally translated to mean Memorial, as in Memorial Stadium. Built by the city and occupied by DGFC for over 20 years, it was renovated prior to World Cup 68, bringing the capacity to 49,254 in this simple bowl-configuration.

MD 3: vs. The Calanian Union
Protectorate Road, Tiberia. Tiberia holds an odd distinction in Legalese. While attached to the oldest part, the in-between location led to it being a little later in terms of development. Furthering the oddity is the fact that Tiberia is named after a former Lord-Protector of Starblaydia – the father of the sitting Lord-Protector, in fact. In many ways, Tiberia represents the complicated relationship that Legalites have with their northern neighbor – not exactly fond of them, but cognizant of their historical importance, especially as some of the earliest Legalites came from the land that is now known as Starblaydia. Named for the road on which it sits, which happens to be the main strip in town and direct access to the Starblaydi border, the stadium seats 64,238, and while the older of the two international-grade facilities in the city, it retains both a sense of charm, as well as the more-successful club side, in the form of The Knights of Tiberia.

RP Permissions:
Should my opponent RP first, I grant them permission to utilize my team in any and all ways that they also permit in their own RP permissions, short of death and/or obviously serious injury to my players. That is, consider your RP permissions to be my RP permissions for the purposes of RPing a match between us, with the only exception listed above. Should you have an intense desire to cause serious harm to one of my players, feel free to either seek help with the nearest professional who deals in such matters, or shoot me a TG/message me on IRC if I'm around #nssport to propose ideas.

Additonally, this also means that should one not post a Roster or RP Permissions, one is not permitted to do a damn thing, though surely that won't be an issue amongst fellow Eagleites, right?

About SJG National Team

The disaster has finished, after being the favorites to qualify for the WC in his group, a last MD nghtmare sent them to fight for the other side of the glory in the Cup of Harmony, despite getting a perfect nine points group stage, the team was knocked off by Brenecia in the Round of 16 in Penalty Kicks after a suffered 2-2 tie for 120 minutes.

The Selecta comes to the Eagle's Cup with the mission of doing a good participation in the tournament, with experienced nations and also excellent teams around, it's the time to drop the confidence and start in the road of effort for the National Team

Play style: The game who SJG does, is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement of players, using his intelligence for the game for single passes very accurate soil to accumulate players when attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counterattacks that can hurt any team.

In the defense area, they tend to use more physical to play aggressively without damaging the rivals, except that the defenses are of medium height stands that are agile in the aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat thereby, expect always a fair game from this team.

Players like try long-distance shots to beat the goalkeeper, but SJG can have more surprises because it is a team that does not give up that easy.

The player in charge of the last defence bastion on the team, Hernández has demonstrated that he's a very secure goalkeeper during the last three cycles, specially the last one when we reached the WC Finals and he saved our goal from several goal chances from the rival sides, now Hernández wants to allow less goals than the last campaign, with the sole purpose of leading SJG for his second WC appearance.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Nhorton vo Mirrun (PDT)

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Daniel Côçô 20 Y/O, Central Defender of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI but the less experienced, the Farf-Guayabalense player showed us his good adapting skills to the system of game who Mathias Paatelainen does, something who make him a secure player in the defence, despite being short in size his good sweeping skills and good phisical makes him a difficult player to beat.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of Truro (GMU)

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there.

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR)

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labour in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata, now is in Eura to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards.

Sebastián Núñez 20 Y/O, Left Midfielder of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and pput it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch.

Leónidas Bregoo 25 Y/O Midfielder of Mierton (TAE)

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 21 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Avenida Leal (FFD)

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of Avenida Leal. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders, taking advantage of his size Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 25 Y/O, Right Striker of Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS)

The top scorer of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, long shots and headers makes him a player who can score in any way possible in any moment, dangerous by his skill and technical game with the dribbling, is a headache for the defenders.

Jonathan "Atomic Flea" Faña 27 Y/O, Left Striker of Oljestaden IF (AUD)

Little in size but relevant in speed, the "Flea" tends to be very technical and does a lot of dribbles, he can't shot so well from large distances but his excellent speed and counterattack skills makes him a rather interesting player to follow, the bad thing is that he's overconfident and can fail goals even in front of the goal, even if the Goalkeeper was beated by his drible. Well he has a bad luck.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 25 Y/O Striker of Northbrook Diamonds (PIS)

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Specialities: Free kick.

IC: Important Info

Fans Football hooliganism is definitively a real problem in SJG. With riots recently reported in the matches against Paradystopia, the FGF (Federación Guayabalense de Fútbol) is trying to find a way to protect guest fans. Also, fans will treat the fans of the following nations heatedly, some for having a rivalry like SJG VS Darmen, Gregoryisgodistan and Yttribia. However Security topic is seriuously for the safety of visiting fans.

Main information:

Welcome to San Jose Guayabal, I'm Miguel Serrano, the president of this beautiful, beautiful country, then I will give you some important details about this country.

First let's start with a little history, mainly with basics.

Our nation was inhabited for many centuries, specifically from the ninth century BC, inhabited by indigenous nomads who formed a large settlement in what is now called "Lake Metropolitan", located near San Salvador, our capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Antarctic regions which lie south of our nation in what are now the "Territories Antarctic Guayabalenses" we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, highlighting in the process the browser Luis Barbosa, a shrewd and skillful explorer who discovered the 70% of our country, including four major islands in our nation.

Not only shared their culture, but their religion and their language, giving rise to a multicultural society since its inception. Unfortunately those times of peace were shattered by two periods of war from 1989 to 2024, where the war ended with the hope and life of many people.

Since the peace accords were signed, our nation has been devoted to the welfare of others, making room for a tolerant Communist system compared to other systems in other social, where social and cultural freedoms normally prevail also noteworthy that Despite being a communist country, we have no problems with receiving foreign, even more, we include in terms of hospitality, this being a country that stands out in terms of tourism and as happiness, let alone "We are Pura Vida!" (We are Pure Life!".

In terms of infrastructure, San Jose Guayabal is characterized by a large number of hotels that tend to meet the needs of the most demanding clients, and a good transport system, consisting of inter-regional buses funded by the national government, besides the bullet train service covering major towns in the nation, a good amount of air routes between different cities, plus an excellent state highway system in the SJG, note that in all there is a limit highway established speed, although it is recommended to handle less than 150 kilometers per hour, but if there are speed limits on the outskirts of towns and cities, where you have to reduce speed to 60 kph in the suburbs and 50 kph on cities, the naming of streets is in Spanish and English, in addition to the measures listed length is measured with the metric system. Importantly system interconnecting each island ferries our nation quickly and inexpensively.

Our national currency is the GuAlSa, a strong currency if we talk about exchange globally (G$ 0.33 = $1.00 NSDollar or G$ 3.33 = NS$ 1.00), because it's a currency used in five countries, including Alianza Albos, Ratastan, Flammable American Sates and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk gorod, this country is well known for being one of the cheapest in all Esportiva, next we present you a chart with the prices of things you'll use in your stay.

Inside some companies, you may find you first need to dial a 1 to reach an external line before dialing 327 as usual, though all companies (from “big business” to restaurants and shops) and other public venues (museums, stadiums, etc) are required by law to display adequate signing advising on this, also the 327 (FAS) comes from the local slang of danger: FAS.

Emergency vehicles are marked with the name of the service (be it Police, Fire, or Ambulance), and are also equipped with a siren and flashing either blue or red lights. If you encounter one of these vehicles while the lights, the sirens or both are active, please take extra care, and if necessary, pull over at the nearest and safest opportunity, using your turn signal to ensure that the driver of the emergency vehicle is aware of your actions.

You will find our hospitals are state-of-the-art, with the best equipment, treatments and employees available, in case you don't have a travel insurance, our medical staff will attend you, due to the Law of Professional Ethics, Morale and Humanity, which says that any person who needs to be helped in a hospital must be attended to save his/her life, so don't worry, your life will be safe here.

You will find that all police officers of the KGB are armed with either a standard pistol (9mm) or automatic gun (AK-47) depending of his branch of the KGB (Metropolitan, Civil, and Order Keepers) they belong to. However, this does not mean they should not be approached if you have a question. In San José Guayabal, the Police Officers have excellent training, and patrol areas they are familiar with, so if you are lost, they are often the best people to consult. First and foremost, though, they are keepers of the peace, and will not hesitate to involve themselves in anything they feel is likely to endanger members of the public, or cause criminal damage to private property.

Weather:
If you have to talk climates , San Jose Guayabal is definitely an interesting place in terms of these categories . The venues

Considering the fact that the group stage will be of six matches home-away, the San José Guayabal FA choose three venues in order to host their matches for the Eagle's cup, one of them is the well known Estadio Cuscatlán and also the well known "The 56th Stadium" a venue made specially to host the final match of the Baptism of Fire 56, and we have a shocking pick by the FA, the relative "little" stadium of Nezavisimosti located in Rostov-na-Donu, in the south coast of the nation, definitively a shocking pick due to his location, this will be the first ever NT game played in Rostov.

Image

Say hi to the historical stadium of SJG, the venue that is always present in the FA picks, the Estadio Cuscatlán has been the silent witness of big events in SJG, including the qualifying of Alianza FC to the UICA Champions Cup, the Baptism of Fire 56 with one semifinal and tons of other events, now the venue will host the first game in home for SJG, a tough stadium due to his well-known hostile environment is that waits for the rivals in San Salvador, a venue that tends to have excellent conditions and it's able to host any kind of matches is up.

Image

Recently built and short in size, words that can describe perfectly the new venue for the city of Rostov-na-Donu (Rostov for short), previously called Gorudanevka, a city who's growing in history via sports using some innovative projects in teams like Nezavisimosti FC, his 46,421 capacity mades it one of the most little stadia of SJG, but is a so noisy venue, due to the distance between pitch and stands.

Image

Despite being recently built, this stadium can claim the title of being the most recognized of all the nation by hosting the final match of the Baptism of Fire 56, with a high capacity and also a state-of-the-art infrastructure, the "56" will receive to the NT in one of his matches, maybe this is one of the toughest venues in terms of weather, considering the altitude of Ramírez (3,420 mts above sea level) this is a major challenge for any team, even for the NT but this time won't heppen that for SJG, noisy fans are normal in this venue and security is granted for any fan.

Notes

While their second place finish in World Cup 68 was regarded as a fluke, at the time, pretty much everywhere outside of the nation then officially known as the Free Republics (and still often referred to by that name), the Republican National Team proved that it was no fluke in World Cup 69, making it back to the Quarterfinals of the World Cup before faltering against Legalese. Then again, anybody familiar with their performance at the youth level shouldn't have been too surprised by their sudden rapid ascent to an elite level. From the 27th through the 29th Di Bradini Cup, this team finished in the top 3 in every edition and won the 28th edition of that prestigious tournament. Now, with the core of that team approaching their respective primes, the Free Republics are one of the most formidable teams in the World Cup and they are always certain to ensure that everybody knows it.

When he first decided to create the Republican National Soccer Team, Rule Theriault decided against using professional athletes on the team, at that time. He decided that it would be next to impossible to convince the best athletes in the Free Republics to put their egos aside for the good of the team. So, he did the next best thing and assembled a team of fringe players and a few stars who fell through the cracks, mostly for off-the-pitch issues. Most prominent among them is Kyle Bolton, once considered one of the most promising soccer prospects in the Free Republics. However, Bolton was expelled from high school and unable to find another school willing to take him in. Rule Theriault signed him up and ended up with a star striker.

The other 2 pieces of the Republican striking trio have stories of their own. Faredin Pozenel was a son of immigrants from the Republican colony of Irad who was overlooked by scouts, in large part because of his background as an immigrant. However, Massimiliano Abdullahi, himself a grandson of immigrants, recognized Pozenel's talent and brought him onto the National Team. Koby Theodore was extremely young and his dedication to the sport was questioned as an amateur, but Theriault saw something in him, took a chance and Kyle Bolton took the young striker under his wing, molding him into a star.

While there are plenty of talented teams in the World Cup, few (if any) can match the team chemistry of the Republican National Team. Theriault has produced a united team and convinced them that they are constantly backed into a corner with the entire multiverse against them. The core of the team has been the same since World Cup 65 and yet they are still a relatively young team, with no players over the age of 25.

When playing away, the Republican National Team will be accompanied by a military escort, for security, and the Republican Navy and Air Force will position some troops near the nation where they are playing. This is done so that the Republican military may invade any nation that attempts to harm Republican players. After the events that took place in World Cup 67 qualifying, Rule Theriault has decided to ensure that it will never happen again. An addition in the prior World Cup cycle was the Cheerleading Squad, comprised of 68 cheerleaders (in honor of World Cup 68), which accompanies the Republican National Team to all matches. After each of the first 68 goals scored by the Republican National Team in a World Cup cycle, the respectively numbered cheerleader will celebrate with the goalscorer. The celebrations, however, became substantially less risque, as did their outfits, after the Republican government fell into the hands of the Sanctii-backed Holy Party. Every single Republican player, coach, cheerleader and security escort will travel armed, for the sake of security. Expect any attempt to interfere with the entry of any member of the Republican National Team delegation, their right to keep and bear arms or their performance of their duties to be met with an immediate attack from the Republican military, although the military presence surrounding the team has reduced slightly since the change in regime.

Facilities Taking Shape as Eagle's Cup Kickoff Nears

Eelandii, Turori :: With the World Cup over and the Cup of Harmony's final match fast approaching, the sporting world will soon turn its attention on the Eagle's Cup, a gentlemanly competition of sporting merit to be contested over 9 matchdays culminating with the final matches at the Eagle's Club in Eelandii, Turori and Tropicorp Park, Tropicorp.

While it is the long term desire of the Eagle's Club for its premier competition, the Eagle's Cup, to have its final match contested at an Eagle's Club ground somewhere in the multiverse, it simply wasn't feasible given the existing timelines unless the Football Association of Turori were to absorb its own Eel's Park in Eelandii into the grounds of the Eagle's Club.

However, with the financial support from Tropicorp in the creation of an independent Eagle's Club facility in the purpose-built city of Eelandii deemed key to the tournament's success, it was only appropriate that at least one marquee matchup be held in nearby Tropicorp on the shores of Calania, one of the most storied and rich regions of sporting history in the multiverse.

The Eagle's Club's desire to expand the number of suitable future host venues may have taken a hit, however, with the apparent refusal to compete issued by the Paripana Sporting Council, the only other active nationally affiliated entity with an existing Eagle's Club heritage. The Football Association of Turori would have embraced the opportunity to work alongside the Paripana Sporting Council on Eagle's Club matters.

This has left the Eagle's Club scrambling to find potential replacements to fill an otherwise star-studded field that includes recently crowned World Cup Champions The Holy Empire.

Rumors are that the Eagle's Club have their eye on Cup of Harmony competitors as potential invitees, while the outstanding invitations to World Cup Co-Hosts Apox and World Cup 68 Champions Vilita remain unconfirmed. Should remaining slots go unfilled, the Eagle's Club may turn back to the pile of applications received to fill the final slots and ensure the competition proceeds without delay, with the draw for groups expected as soon as the weekend and the list of competitors taking shape.

The Football Federation of Mertagne Presents...
Image
The Calanian Union National Football Team
For The Eagle's Cup V

So, a change in management has shaken up the former Syndicatian team, which now includes the best that the new country, Mertagne, has to offer. When asked whether Gerald Montier was made to adhere to "strict nationality quotas", FMF boss Noel Palvini denied that anything of the sort had occurred, and that the team was simply "evolving in a natural state to accommodate the new pool of talent the nation now has". This has resulted in some trimming, immediately after the World Cup, with big Mertian names like Orville Amedeillo and Daniel Hardeland moving into Montier's 23 man lineup. We've also seen a reshuffle of some names into the first selection, such as Lionel Ott's new position in the centre midfield, a position of vital importance to the team. Another controversial decision was the one to switch Jacob Pratt, considered as one of the Syndicate's best players, out of first selection for Rhys West, and up an comer who has proved his talent in Bastion and should work well with Robert Morgan, the other half of the dynamic duo that impressed when they were both children.

It seems Montier is using this Eagles Cup as a post World Cup testing ground, then - a chance to see what exactly works on the front lines with this new mix of talent, and what doesn't. Of course, with the World Cup now four years away (three at the current time of writing) instead of the usual two, by the time he's perfected the lineup, it could be too late...

APOX EAGLE'S CUP ROSTER

Manager: Gavin Hughes, Aged 40
Assistant Manager: Jorge Guardia, Aged: 36
Style: -1

Spiel: Gavin Hughes is promoted to manager of the national team, a happy medium of an experienced manager (previously managed Mandon United for 7 years, was assistant to Magnus Fjelden) but still youthful, aged only 40 (he started management young!). He goes to The Eagle's Cup with a youthful and inexperienced squad, something that seems to be said about every Apoxian team these days. His aim, give them some experience against top opposition so that there is a large pool of players to choose from for the Campionato Esportiva and the World Cup qualifiers in two years. He has therefore left a number of the more experienced players out of the squad, such as Solomon Etezadi, Armando Quillisi, Marcus Redwood, Martin Roskorwell and Kaj Aurora. They'll be back though, don't worry. Tolgus Tregajorran has been named acting captain for this tournament, with the full time captain, Ettie Seabrooke, sitting on the bench for this one to give her time mentally to recover from a poor World Cup.

Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell. Capacity of 88,000, no attached club.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

The bitterness of a catastrophic qualifying campaign was entirely made up for by a convincing victory in the Cup of Harmony - the only sour note being that it took penalties, twice, along the way. Still, they have what's most important - a trophy. Because life, in the end, is about winning.

Mortlock already faced a minor exodus through Cathy Stokes' international retirement, soon followed by that of Kieron Riordan - both determined now to focus on their club careers. That in mind, she's taken the chance to shuffle around a few other players, taking the opportunity to experiment.

Overall Record
127 wins - 29 draws - 45 losses
398 scored - 237 conceded

Honours
Champions of the 51st Baptism of Fire, the 6th, 8th and 10th Campionati Esportiva, the 61st Cup of Harmony and, for what it's worth, Market Cup 6.
Qualified for World Cup 67 and 68.
Quarterfinalists in WC68 - the first Esportivan to make it that far.
Ranked 16th in the world.

First Team
Image
Most RPs will list the next game's formation, but this is the strongest team the Cormorants can field.

Tactics
The Sideburnese traditionally play a 4-4-2 formation; that said, the midfield is not entirely flat, with one central midfielder (Brandon/Crowe) dropping deep as a ball-winner and the other (Locke/Mathias) advancing forward to set the play. Their fullbacks like to overlap along the wings to create chances for the two strikers. The more selfish, skilful Cathar (Bittencourt) is supplemented by a deeper-lying target man, Rowland (Kite), who is more than capable of scoring on their own right.

In defence, it's all hands on deck, the pressure being constant and the back four pressing high - Coleman will act as a sweeper. Tackles go in hard and often sliding - this isn't a team afraid to get stuck in. In possession, the Nepharim don't mess about playing from the back, moving it quickly forward in a series of short passes, posing the greatest threat down the wings. They will never dive. In short; possession low, fouls high.

Jess MORTLOCK - 48
Manager

The good times are rolling. After a shaky start, Mortlock has brought Nepharim football into a golden age. Three wins and a draw with hosts and eventual finalists the Free Republics brought them to the quarter-finals of the World Cup, bested only by the Terns - this was followed by a third victory of the Campionato Esportiva. Mortlock has turned the high-pressure, high-tempo Nepharim game into an artform, and the team is well capable of asserting themselves on any team in the world.

Auburn BYWATER - 30
Assistant Manager

Originally in the team with the role of a 'whip' - someone to maintain discipline, keep players in line - when Boyden let his contract with the national team lapse to go and manage Premiership teams again, Bywater made the step up. She's only recently earned her coaching badges, but her man-management skills are more than sufficient for her lack of tactical nous.
1 - Reece COLEMAN - 29 - AFC Mayville (EUR)
27 caps, 10 clean sheets

Coleman might not be comfortable keeping the ball at his feet, but he's got the nerve and the pace to come out and contest a ball even in no-man's land. This is a trait that Mortlock evidently feels will be very much complementary to the high line the Nepharim defence keep. Beyond this, he's a fine stopper who can go toe-to-toe with the world's best when he's in form.

12 - Diandra BALLARD - 24 - Crisisbless
2 caps, 1 clean sheet

Ballard was already the second-best goalkeeper in the league at the age of 22, having been the best goalkeeper in Taijan for her two years on loan before that, and part of the AFC Treason youth team that made it to the Youth Cup final. Ballard, in short, has been marked for glory - she'll have to wait her turn for now, but practically everyone can see that she will wear the number 1 someday.

20 - Tana COLBRIGHT - 28 - Brinemouth
11 caps, 4 clean sheets

An impressive shot-stopper, though more physicality and confidence coming off her line against opponents would be appreciated - Colbright's not only proven a great goalkeeper, but has taken quickly to her club's Total Football philosophies - she's now comfortable with the ball at her feet, and her distribution is fantastic.
2 - James SLEET (3c) - 29 - AC Tallin (VLD)
Right-back
60 caps, 1 goal

A stalwart rightback who has only recently broken through into the Nepharim first team over Anna Shrike, making his breakthrough in the CE. He's technically skilled, and solid overall, liking to overlap on the wing but also content in a more defensive role.
After playing as many matches as humanly possible during the cycle, where he was the only recognised rightback in the squad (Blackstock deputising where necessary), Sleet will likely be rested for most of this tournament.

3 - Amanda CLOUGH - 26 - Brinemouth
Left-back
32 caps, 2 goals

Clough has finally finished developing from a fairly defensive player with blossoming technical skills into a fearsome attacking presence down the left wing, perfectly hooked crosses causing chaos in the box. Clough finds herself the successor to Cathy Stokes... for now, at least. Even now, she faces competition from the ambitious Catheline Stockinger.

5 - Hadrian BELFAST - 27 - Dwile Warriors (APX)
Centre-back
71 caps, 1 goal

Belfast and Marlowe have gelled with time, as opposed to a few years ago where they looked vulnerable. Belfast has evolved into a proper cunt, on the pitch at least, offering the steel of Finnan while also boasting a strong technique. He's looked solid as a rock ever since signing for Dwile, and his international performances have been superb - the professional foul that denied NSI what could have turned into an equaliser last CE final will live long in the memory.

6 - Tosca MARLOWE - 27 - AFC Treason
Centre-back
90 caps, 1 goal

Marlowe's a solid, skilled centreback whose specialty is in clean sliding challenges. She's a patient marker who rarely goes in late. With great anticipation, a fine mentality and a firm but generally fair physicality, she's a bulwark at the back for the Cormorants. She offers Belfast the cover for him to go forward and challenge opponents, secure she'll fill the gap at the back, and they're a formidable combination.

13 - Catheline STOCKINGER - 22 - FC Brimstone (APX)
Left-back
Uncapped

A fiercely aspirational leftback from Parrhesia, Stockinger comes from an extremely troubled past she hints at a lot without ever really saying more than that. Noted for a wry, black sense of humour that sometimes leaves others a little unnerved, she's an aggressive speed demon on the left flank who's played for three clubs in three years, each more prestigious than the last. As far as direct successors to national heroes go? You could do far worse than Stocki - hell, they even share most of the same first name.

17 - Karl FINNAN - 31 - Crisisbless
Centre-back
53 caps, 2 goals

Finnan has the heart and steel to truly anchor a defence. While he's lost his starting place due to the superb chemistry between Marlowe and Belfast, he's still an outstanding defender who can really get stuck into an opponent. An aerial threat from set pieces, too - an iconic moment for the Nepharim came when he literally concussed himself to score a header against the Licentians.

19 - Rachael KELLEN - 22 - Violence Chariots
Right-back
3 caps, 0 goals

Kellen just sort of showed up from Vermillion, where she was being under-utilised in her favoured right-back position. The Chariots picked her up at 20 and quickly moulded her into a storming fullback who excels at knocking the ball past her man, backing herself to make it to it. Great crosser of the ball, not a bad shot. That said, she's still developing as a player, especially defensively - she'll be a weakness against top-quality opposition.
4 - Michael BRANDON - 29 - Directus (EUR)
Holding Midfielder
94 caps, 4 goals

Deep-lying playmaker and midfield anchor in equal measure, Brandon is every inch the archetypal Nepharim holding midfielder. He's a steadying presence for the squad, the kind who makes those around play better knowing he's covering them. His sharp passing makes him a constant threat to start counter-attacks, too. A quietly essential presence for the Nepharim national team.

7 - Catheline HARPER (c) - 31 - AFC Treason
Right Midfielder
85 caps, 15 goals

A strong physical presence, heavily tattooed along her arms and with boundless energy, Harper's a classic Nepharim midfielder. A standout in the last World Cup with her ability at set pieces, her ferocious long shots and her accurate early crosses, she's lost a yard of pace but more than makes up for it with the ball at her feet. With Stokes left, Harper's the new captain for the first time in her life.

8 - Rutger LOCKE - 23 - Tannenberg FC (VLD)
Central Midfielder
30 caps, 6 goals

Locke thought he'd made the move of his career when Royal Rumiatzi picked him up - the fascist government cutting off all ties to the outside world put paid to that. At short notice, the Chariots picked him up, and in return he drove them to a ferocious title challenge, making a frightening partnership with another young central midfielder, Logan Murdoch. He likes to go forward and dictate play, and has a real bag of tricks to foil his marker. Recently completed a transfer to Valladares, where he became the most expensive Nepharim ever at twenty-five million pounds.

11 - Jess LEINSTER - 25 - Violence Chariots
Left Midfielder
47 caps, 4 goals

Leinster is a key presence for the Chariots, with a dangerous sudden burst of pace that can utterly foil defenders. Not a natural goalscorer, but a constant creator of chances. Originally a surprise pick for the national team, her rise with the Cormorants has mirrored that with the Chariots.

14 - Kunibert MATHIAS - 26 - Brinemouth
Central Midfielder
11 caps, 3 goals

Kunibert Mathias, or generally just Kurt to Nepharim, had been a key player in Felix's midfield for years, but became one of the fascist regime's most open critics. Openly defecting to Nephara, having lived in Brinemouth long enough to be naturalised, he was a natural pick for the national team. An attack-minded midfielder who likes to take players on personally and strike accurately from distance, but he'll have a hard time dislodging Locke from the team - the playmaker seems key to Mortlock's plans.

16 - Gareth CROWLEY - 29 - Fligsive FC (TIS)
Left Midfielder
68 caps, 10 goals

A very physical, bruising winger, his turn of pace intact at 29. Boasts a fierce shot and a vicious cross, though shorter passing and defensive work aren't really his forte. Temperate off the field, but can get very heated on it.

18 - Andrea CROWE - 29 - Mardi Loppunies (NSI)
Holding Midfielder
23 caps, 1 goal

A creative holding player, perhaps not a midfield enforcer but capable of clean challenges and persistent marking. Adapted well to the Islander style of playing. Crowe's passing is by far her strongest asset, but she's been known to fancy herself with long, driving shots - you can't give her any space to go forward, or she'll punish you.

22 - Kylie PENRITH - 24 - Flying Jellyfish (FFD)
Right Midfielder
14 caps, 3 goals

The word that most commonly comes to mind with Penrith is 'buccaneering'. Or perhaps 'swashbuckling'. Either way, she's a player with genuine flair, the only truly flamboyant player in the squad. Either way, Penrith is a crowd-pleaser, strong and persistent in the attack, perhaps a little unskilled in defence, but by no means with a low work-rate. Any doubts on her readiness were settled when she scored on her debut.

23 - Uli ALSATIAN - 31 - FC Torshavn (PIS)
Central Midfielder
12 caps, 1 goal

For Alsatian, the transition into the Polar leagues was a less than seamless one, relegated in his first season, but his performance earned a transfer where he's been solid for Torshavn. He offers a strong box-to-box presence, and always fancies himself to go forward. The least specialised of the selected central midfielders, as well as the oldest.
9 - Keith ROWLAND - 28 - Holdenberg (EUR)
Striker
53 caps, 28 goals

Keith 'Judas' Rowland has developed into a dangerous target man - easily capable of great moves himself, but his partnership with the selfish but brilliant Rook Cathar up top is just tearing defences apart. His workrate and unselfishness on the pitch is underwritten by a humble, professional personality off it. Just don't tell Holdenberg City fans that.

10 - Rook CATHAR - 27 - East Franz Athletic (PIS)
Striker
57 caps, 33 goals

Cathar was always going to come good in a generic sense, but it's only recently he's been on fire. Largely two-footed, tall, strong, and industrious - Cathar has often been described as 'Gerd Thunder, but with pace'. It's not a perfect analogy - Cathar is less of a physical presence (like basically everyone), less experienced and less inclined to pressure defenders, but when it comes to smashing goals in he's unmatched. A truly world-class striker to lead the line for Nephara; exactly what the side needs.

15 - Georgia KITE - 26 - Maximum City
Striker
11 caps, 4 goals

A target woman who tends to be moderately prolific, Kite's ability to assist others is only a more recent addition to her skillset. Very fast, physically fit and tall, Kite takes a lot of stick from her fellow players for a refusal to drink alcohol and a stringent personal diet, but it's paid dividends for her athleticism.

21 - Cheney BITTENCOURT - 27 - Fontvielle Impact (VLD)
Striker
35 caps, 17 goals

Always possessed of remarkable technique and pace, Bittencourt relishes taking defenders on as he moves towards goal. A player who excels at making openings for himself. Compensated somewhat by not really being an aerial or physical presence, but he gets the ball in the back of the net with remarkable regularity. His ability to exploit the mistakes of a tired defence make him a valuable impact substitute for his nation, though he rarely starts. Has completed a transfer to Valladares, but is yet to play there.

1 - Reece Coleman (AFC Mayville, EUR)
12 - Diandra Ballard (Crisisbless)
20 - Tana Colbright (Brinemouth

2 - James Sleet (AC Tallin, VAL, vc)
3 - Amanda Clough (Brinemouth)
5 - Hadrian Belfast (Dwile Warriors, APX)
6 - Tosca Marlowe (AFC Treason)
13 - Catheline Stockinger (FC Brimstone, APX)
17 - Karl Finnan (Crisisbless)
19 - Rachael Kellen (Violence Chariots)

4 - Michael Brandon (Directus, EUR)
7 - Catheline Harper (AFC Treason, c)

The Felixian Government In Exile Ministry of Sport Presents...

The Free Felixian National Football Team

Introduction-

Due to the recent defection of the whole national team during the World Cup the WA recognized Corvidae Felix was not going to send their secondary national team as the U-21 side was playing in the Olympics. But since the NT defected to the government-in-exile the Free Felixians decided to send out almost the same national team thrown in the World Cup finals. The only difference in this team? Some players either retired from multiversal play or refused to join them in the Eagle's Cup as they either recanted their defections or didn't defect at all. Along with this, Felix's Mizuyuki manager, Ishikawa Haruka's pressure to win trophies for the Nationalist government has softened now that her team plays for a different Felix. But that doesn't mean she doesn't want Felix to win this cup, it means that the two time Round of 16 leading coach can finally coach in peace. Now with that all said and done, here is the Felixian National team representing Free Felix.

The Ministry of Morale is pleased to present the roster of the NMS Paladins for their first-ever foray into the Eagles Cup.

Starters are in bold.

The New Montreal States Paladins

Manager: Gilles-Laurant Morand
Assistant: Mitch Anderson
Formation: 2-6-2
Modifier: +4

Tactics: The Paladins have abandoned the string of imported formations originally brought in by Sol Kirkegaard in favor of the traditional 2-6-2. In a defauly (tied-game) stance, the 2-6-2 is highly offensive, with the wing midfielders moving up aggressively to support the AMF and strikers in enemy territory. The center midfielders are traditionally unevenly spaced; in this iteration the left-footed Alistair St. George Millet-Wapintake will be playing slightly ahead and (relative to the central axis of the field) further off-center than Cartier, with an eye to setting up Larchmont-Louvrier, Patterson and the strikers inside the opposition box. Georges-Laurent-Arsène Jean-Marie Deslauriers has moved over to the left wing from the AMF spot and will be equally dangerous on crosses and wing shots.

The defense, meanwhile, will be struggling to find itself. The Paladins usually defend in depth; with Millet-Wapintake, Pierre-Paul Brassard and Deslauriers getting older, Christophe Cartier and Vontae Benn untested at an interational level, and John Gordon Larchmont-Louvrier not giving a shit about defense as he usually does, the Paladins will be sorely tested early and often. Either Christian Cornell will be a hero, or the Paladins will be plucked and fricasseed early on in their first-ever Eagles' Cup.

When protecting a lead, the Paladins will (theoretically) pull in their horns and have their midfield drop back into a more compact formation. With two goal-hungry wing midfielders, however, discipline will be a problem, and more balanced, level-headed sides will find space on the flanks for potential equalizers.

After making quite a splash on the first day of their annual meeting, the Bedistan Football Association’s Executive Board reconvened for a second day of business. According to tradition, Yuba United president Kasta Karera was afforded the honor of chairing the meeting, as her club had claimed a twenty-third Élite League title in the season just concluded. She seemed all too enthusiastic about the concept of having a gavel. Tradition be damned, this may not have been the most responsible choice, and there may be a reason why most football clubs don’t have open elections for their leaders.

“Before we continue, is there anything else to add to the agenda?”

Tubal Navarro, chairman of Carter FC, spoke up. “If I may…”

“I think we’ve done quite enough to tell the PSC that we are entirely serious about the independent governance of the BFA. But wouldn’t it be better to show them, in a very public way, that we can do whatever we like?”

The whole room was attentive, and Karera asked what they all were thinking. “And how should we do that?”

“Do you recall that spat the PSC had a while ago regarding a competition called the Eagle’s Cup?”

Karera nodded slightly. “Wasn’t that the one where they made fun of their manly parts?”

“Manly Balls.”

“What did you think I said?”

Iän Samaniëgo, head of the newly-relegated Afton FC, didn’t seem to follow the conversation. “Excuse me, but what is this Eagle’s Cup?”

Navarro launched into a scripted presentation, complete with pointless visual aids which he had no doubt spent a fair chunk of last night preparing.

“The Eagle’s Cup is an exclusive invitational tournament founded by the Eagle’s Nest Football Association circa 2035. The tournament consists of sixteen teams, arrayed in four groups of four, playing home and away. The winners and runners-up of the groups advance to the quarterfinals, which are held on neutral territory.

“Its original run ended with the fourth edition in 2058, to which Bedistan sent an under-23 team and won, defeating Audioslavia in extra time in the final. Now, the Football Association of Turori is relaunching the competition by staging a fifth edition. Under the newly-drafted bylaws, which you should have on your screens now, past winners of the tournament are entitled to memebership of the organizing association, known as the Eagle’s Club, and thereby are entitled to places in future editions of the Eagle’s Cup.

“The PSC was invited to join the Eagle’s Club in right of the current champions, Bedistan, and rejected the offer on anti-discrimination grounds. However, I believe we would be entitled to fill that position should we make our case to the FA of Turori. By doing so, we would not only be defying the PSC, but would also create the first chance in over a century for a team to walk onto a pitch wearing the colors of Bedistan. It is quite possibly the biggest public relations opportunity our association will ever have. Are there any questions?”

Samaniëgo implicitly supplied the answer to that rhetorical question. “When you say ‘anti-discrimination’…”

“As you can see, there is nothing in the bylaws enforcing or condoning discrimination of any kind. The PSC’s argument was based only on the hypothetical conduct of the other participating associations, and on the name of the official match ball.”

“The match ball is discriminatory?”

Karera interjected, “Well, it sure does discriminate against good taste…”

Navarro smiled in agreement and gestured to one of his presentation slides. “It’s this faux retro gimmick which they’ve dubbed a ‘Manly Ball’. It’s quite plainly a sexist ploy to convince people that only women have good taste in—er, any other questions?”

Um Sû-gyuŋ, representing Élite League Two’s Washington Tigers, had one. “But the other teams in this cup, they will be national teams, yes?”

“Yes.”

“And when national teams travel, they tend to bring their…”

Um Sû-gyuŋ paused for long enough that his colleagues were tempted to fill in the blank. “Players?” “Shirts?”

Karera pounded her gavel a few times too many. “Mr Um?”

“They tend to bring their…national politics with them. Are we prepared to deal with that?”

“I’m not sure what you mean.”

“Do you know of Rule Theriault?”

“Rule…Theriault?”

Navarro swiped furiously at his screen for a few moments. “I…I don’t see that anywhere in the bylaws.”

Um Sû-gyuŋ forced out a sigh. “Rule Theriault is the manager of the Free Republics football team. He also has a great deal of political backing. They do not…travel lightly.”

“You mean…he has an entourage.”

“Of course.”

“If something like that comes up, we should simply inform the team that such will not be necessary here in Paripana.”

“You clearly have never dealt with this sort of person.”

“I’d prefer not to, to be honest. Why don’t you draft the proper protocol for us?”

The table shook with the force of Karera’s gavel once again. “Is there anything else to discuss, or can we go ahead with a vote?”

Navarro was relieved by the change of subject. “I move for a vote.”

Nina Šarić, the San Diego Iguanas chairman, broke her silence. “I second the motion.”

“All in favor of applying for membership in the Eagle’s Club, say ‘aye’…”

Eight said “aye”.

“…all opposed, vote ‘nay’.”

The clock on the wall ticked.

“The ayes have it.”

“Good evening, and welcome back! We are the Gentlemen Wearing Robes, and we’ve missed you all!”

“WHOOOO! WE LOVE YOU TYRELLIA!”

“Um, Rob… you are aware that we’re in our studio in the okay part of Francis City, and not in the Coliseum, right?”

“Well, yes. There’ll be no sleep until then, as you surely know.”

“I would not go quite so far, Robbo - a quick nap before kickoff might be in order, at least.”

“At any rate, welcome back, friends! Those of you who don’t watch the Liganaia might have wondered where we’ve gone, but the answer to that is simple - we haven’t gone anywhere! Where did you go in all this?”

“But let’s be honest, Marcus. If you look at the way the league has been going so far, can you blame them for missing out? It’s been a bit tough to watch at times.”

“Yes, not a good year for your Titans, which is why I can’t fault you for feeling a sense of joy with the return of international play to our fair country. That’s right, sports fans, it’s time for the vaunted Eagle’s Cup!”

“Ah, right, the wonderful Eagle’s Cup! It is a joyous time, one of much pleasure and… um, Marcus, what is the Eagle’s Cup?”

“Glad you asked, Rob. The Eagle’s Cup is an ancient tournament contested by the mighty titans of the sporting world. Not content to let the World Cup be the sole decider in who ruled the footballing world, The Eagle’s Cup filled the gap between the close of the World Cup final, and the start of a new qualifier. This was back when the World Cup occurred every four legal years, rather than the two it does now, so it was a much longer wait. It had gone dormant for over a century, until one of the former winners, the Football Association of Turori, decided to bring it back. Since we were in the fourth edition, which occurred back when your grandfather was a twinkle in your great-grandmother’s eye, they figured we’d be fitting to return.”

“It’s an interesting strategy to take it on, I must say. I mean, you think about how condensed the cycle is, it can burn a player out, can’t it?”

“A fair point, but that’s why I like the plans they’ve hinted at. Apparently, the side he’s named for the Eagle’s Cup is essentially the playing roster for the World Cup finals, and this group will skip out on the AOCAF. Playing in their stead will be the rest of the National Team pool from qualifying, along with some other potentials. It sets up the regional play as a high-level way to throw the kiddies into the deep end, and see if they can swim, and it’s badly needed.”

“That’s a valid point - you can’t afford to bleed points in qualifying in the name of development anymore, after all.”

“But enough of that, for Rob, we have a big match to open The Eagle’s Cup in Tyrellia, as the Legal Eagles face off against Royal Quebec. What do you expect?”

“A lot of mispronounciation, and one Pascal Boyle from the oppostition.”

“That sounds about right. We’ll be back after the break.”

World Cup 20 & 68 Champions

Head Coach: Nycflala Kater
The Descendant of former Vilitan star Jimmy Kater finally got the major silverware desired to validate his career in Vilitan Sport leading the Vilita & Turori Eel-Cat things to back-to-back AOCAF 41 & AOCAF 42 titles in a Player/Coach role. After many years of success as the starting goalkeeper at Strike FC and for the Vilitan National Team, disappointment at the international level left Kater searching for more. He left Strike in order to reduce his domestic fixture load and focus on International play. While the World Cup title continued to be elusive, Kater led the team from between the sticks in AOCAF 41 and continued in the role for AOCAF 42.

After transitioning to the role as assistant coach of the Vilitan National Team, Kater finally claimed the big one, Winning World Cup 68 with the Jungle Cats. Having taken over the head coaching position at the start of World Cup 69, Kater now leads a very different looking Jungle Cats squad into the Eagle's Cup and will even be ready himself if needed to throw on the kit at the last moment while some of the regulars skip the competition.

GOALKEEPERS:
Image
Kalek Intafel [ - Alikki-Corra - ]
GK ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 7 :: GOALS:0 ) :: [ N/R ]
Intafel was initially trained in Mavaloiao but was snapped up by the famed academy in Alikki-Corra when the capital-based club earned promotion to the Stellar Division for the first time in the modern era prior to Season 41.

Image
Jungrii Canopii [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
GK ( AGE: 36 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS:0 ) :: [ 4.88 Average Rating ]
Canopii spent most of World Cup 57 Qualifications on the bench, earning three substitute appearances in official matches, though he was named starter for the mid-qualification charity match against Akbarabad to raise money for big cats, where he made 11 saves. Despite spending most of the campaign as the primary backup, Canopii was not given the opportunity to start when #1 keeper Kater missed two matches, leading doubts as to whether he is looked upon as a serious canadidate for the starting role in the future. After starting at the Inland Academy then signing for Inland Peaks, Canopii left the home-town club when they were relegated from the Stellar Division after Season 26, joining cross-range rivals Eastal Lunar. Despite being relegated to the Declasse, Canopii led Eastal Lunar to the Vilitan Cup title during Season 28. Canopii has remained loyal to Eastal Lunar despite their relegation from the Stellar Division, turning down multiple offers to join bigger clubs in the top flight. Canopii thrust back into the National Team spotlight during World Cup 60 Qualifying, stopping 5 of the 9 matches the Jungle Cats won consecutively to qualify for the World Cup through the Playoff Pod system. Canopii would lead Eastal Lunar back to the Stellar Division before being attracted by the allure of the Lirai Asku Castle in joining the Yeaddin Owls for Season 33. Canopii was named Player of the Season at Yeaddin during Season 34 and helped lead the Owls back to International competition with the conclusion of V-League Season 36.

Image
Nycflala Kater [ - RETIRED (Kiiara-Torra) - ]
GK ( AGE: 37 CAPS: 125 :: GOALS:1 ) :: [ 5.49 Average Rating ]
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles, repeating the feat during VLeague 29 and VLeague 30. After winning the Vilitan Cup, Stellar Division and Tropical Trophy just one more time over the next five seasons, Kater left Strike FC despite not having another contract lined up, looking to focus on the World Cup 63 Finals in nearby Turori. Humbled by the Jungle Cats epic failure in Turori, Kater went back to roots moving up the coast from Strike to Kiiara. After briefly helping at Kiiarana City, Kater switched to Kiiara-Torra and led the side to the Declasse title and an appearance in the Vilitan Cup Final, the first ever for the club. Kater's instant success in Kiiara-Torra led to his appointment as Player/Manager, a role he would later duplicate on the international level as Player/Manager of the Vilita & Turori Eel Cat things regional side. With full control and accountability, Kater finally put the much-needed pinnacle on his career, leading Vilita & Turori to the AOCAF 41 title from between the sticks and behind the bench and backing it up with the repeat title in AOCAF 42.

DEFENDERS:
Image
Miiara Makose [ - RETIRED (Arcticala Inlet) - ]
D C ( AGE: 35 CAPS: 160 :: GOALS:6 ) :: [ 6.67 Average Rating ]
Makose has Druidan blood, though has been diluted through multiple generations. He was trained as a goalkeeper in Turori but did not want to be stuck in the shadows of Nycflala Kater, so switched over to the defensive role when joining the Strike Academy. The transition was clearly justified as Makose was one of the top performing players in World Cup 57 qualifying, carrying a 6.65 average rating while appearing in 14 of Vilita's 16 group matches. Makose was also part of Strike's dominating VLeague 27 performances winning the League and Cup titles with the club and repeated the feat during VLeague 29, doing one better, having scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute of the Cup Final against the rival Yeaddin Owls. Incredibly, Makose did it again during the Season 30 Cup Final, scoring the opening goal of Strike's 2-0 victory over Colonial Sile. The list of accomplishments for Makose continued to grow with his allegiance to his home club, including International success as champions of the Aeropag Invitational and the Cygnus Cup following Vilitan Season 38. Makose then led Strike FC to the Stellar Division title and a repeat victory in the Cygnus Cup the following season. After failing to claim silverware during Season 43, Makose followed in the footsteps of Callum Banda, leaving Strike FC to become the manager at Arcticala Inlet Makose captain the Vilita Jungle Cats World Cup 68 winning side.

Image
Ritopa Simafela [ - RETIRED (Lonngeylin Coast) - ]
D LC ( AGE: 38 CAPS: 146 :: GOALS:12 ) :: [ 6.63 Average Rating ]
Ritopa was a standout product of the Lunar Academy and was named as one of the captains of Vilita's World Cup 57 Qualifying Squad. The son of a Rocket Scientist and a Physicist, Simafela is already well educated and is in no way reliant on a career in sports. However, strong performances during his debut qualifying campaign including a 6.05 average rating and 2 goals spurred transfer inquiries from foreign clubs and comparisons to Vilitan greats like Enzo Ahat and Ricky Ezis. Simafela transferred to Strike FC for VLeague 27 and was an instrumental part of their double success in the League and Cup. Simafela amassed 3 Stellar Division titles, 4 Vilitan Cup championships and one Tropical Trophy victory as a member of a Strike club heavily populated with Vilitan National Team members before spending Season 35 up the coast at Kiiarana City. In his retirement years, Simafela would become player/manager at Lonngeylin Coast.

Monner Vileai [ - Tropicorp FC - ]
D RC ( AGE: 16 CAPS: :: GOALS: ) :: [ N/R ]

Image
Kadi Molali [ - RETIRED (Strike FC) - ]
D R ( AGE: 37 CAPS: 152 :: GOALS:9 ) :: [ 7.19 Average Rating ]
Molali has the ability to make stunning runs up the right side of the field and has put together exciting 'from-nothing' goal scoring opportunities in weekly scrimmage matches. Molali was an exciting prospect for the Turoki Academy who was solid, but not exceptional during World Cup 57 Qualifying, making 13 appearances and scoring 1 goal. After joining multiple clubs, including Strike FC, Molali left the VLeague abrubtly in the middle of VLeague 26. After some time off, Molali returned, signing for Eastal Lunar FC and completing a strong VLeague Season 27. Following Eastal Lunar's relegation, however, Molali - fearing the relegation could cost him appearances in the National Team, spent 2 seasons at Cednia Beach AFC before moving back to Vilita to play for Makosile. Molali was part of Makosile Season 38 Stellar Division championship team. Molali called it a career immediately after winning the World Cup 68 title for Vilita.

Image
Sipaao Vereaoao [ - SK Aasiaat Harbour (PIS) - ]
D L ( AGE: 35 CAPS: 43 :: GOALS:3 ) :: [ 7.12 Average Rating ]
A product of the Inland Academy, Vereaoao has played in both Vilita & Turori, but committed his future to the Jungle Cats when featuring for them as a half time substitute against Nitrome Island during World Cup 57 qualifying. Vereaoao left long-time home Inland Peaks after they failed to achieve promotion from the Declasse during VLeague 27. Vereaoao signed for Marine Coast United, who had earned promotion in addition to a place in International Competitions. However, with Marine Coast struggling to keep pace in the Stellar Division, Vereaoao jumped ship to free-spending Kiiarana for V-League Season 29, becoming a big part of the team that would challenge atop the table - finishing 3rd during Season 33 and qualifying for the UICA Champions League.

Retiso Buran was the top prospect at the Sile Academy specializing in the defensive midfield role once made famous by Jürgen Ramzi. Buran is a ferocious player who some has said can be seen with teeth gritted ready to pounce as the attacking side approaches. Appearing almost exclusively during World Cup 57 qualifying, Buran missed only one game and scored 2 goals during the campaign. Burans perofmances both for the National Team and for Makosile earned him a transfer to Strike FC for Season 27, where he earned the Vilitan Stellar Divisions top goalscorer award for the second consecutive season, the first time ever achieved by a midfielder. After spending 10 seasons at Strike the aging Buran wwas pushed out by Babbage stalwart Coll Brodie and recruited by Arcticala Inlet to try to right their failed attempt at avoiding relegation. After relegation, Buran decided to return home signing for Makosile prior to V-League 38.

A decsendent of the exciting Marine Coast and Yeaddin midfielder Jonjo Hulyer, Jomur has been compared heavily to his ancestors and even carries the same squad number. Unlike Jonjo, however, Jomur was trained at the Yeaddin Academy. Hulyer would soon become the quickest player to ever represent all three of the original Vilitan Dynasties, signing his first professional contract with Marine Coast United before transferring to Strike for VLeague 28. The list of honors earned by Hulyer in Lonngeylin was massive, with 5 appearances in the Tropical Trophy, 3 Stellar Division Championships and a Vilitan Cup title in addition to being a finalist for Vilitan player of the Season every season he spent in Lonngeylin. After Strike failed to claim a Champions League place following Season 35, Hulyer decided it was time for a change of scenery, moving to Turori to join forces with Mliona-Lpaka FC. Soon after, however, Hulyer did something unprecedented, retiring from domestic competition in order to focus on his performances for the National Team. Hulyer un-retired from the domestic league during Season 41, returning to Mliona-Lpaka to fight against his old side Strike FC for the title. The experienced Hulyer came on as a sub in the World Cup 68 final won by Vilita.

Lejsrma is a speed demon who was trained at the Strike Academy. The most dynamic and pacey winger in the Vilitan system, he is expected to be a great player for many seasons to come. At this stage in his development, he may get overlooked as he works more on his technique and vision, but with experience, he will learn these skills. Lejsrma has been an important part of Strike FC's VLeague successes. After winning yet another V-League title with Strike during Season 37, Lejsrma decided it was time fora new challenge and made the switch to Season 37 5th-place finishers Morata Valley.

Morasita was the top prospect coming out of the Tivali Academy, playing central and left midfield. His sure footed tackling ability is noted but he is a well balanced midfielder. After playing a season and a half professionally for Alikki-Corra, Morasita joined the Vilitan League with Inland Peaks FC midway through VLeague 27. After spending 3 succesful seasons in the Declasse, Morasita transfered to Stellar Division side Cednia Beach AFC during Season 31. Morasita spent just one season in Cednia before moving to Makosile where he helped the Makos win the Vilitan Cup during Season 32. Strong performances for the Makos earned Morasita a transfer to Lonngeylin where Morasita was instrumental in helping Strike claim the Season 34 Stellar Division title.

Despite not scoring during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Siazzu was an important presence. After spending many seasons in Yeaddin, Siazzu moved to the Turoki Tide, helping them to runners-up in the VLeague29 table. Siazzu played the role of a hired gun moving to Strike during Season 39 to help them re-gain the Stellar Division title from Makosile. Siazzu wouldn't stay for the defense however, jumping ship to Turori to play for Mliona-Lpaka. Siazzu would bring added experience to the Jungle Cats World Cup 68 campaign, starting in the final. Siazzu retired immediately following the championship and took the Managers job at Kionao Locals in Turori.

F C ( AGE: 36 CAPS: 139 :: GOALS::SR: 45 ) :: [ 6.21 Average Rating ]
Trained at the Strike Academy, Lawaai has excelled at shooting from long range, and making space on the edge of the penalty area with crafty turns, and may produce opportunities for free kicks if he wears down the opposition approaching the box. Lawaii made 8 substitute appearances during World Cup 57 qualifying, making his competitive debut against Krytenia, but failed to find the scoresheet. Lawaai would quickly become one of the most important players in the National Team set up, making over 100 appearances for the National Team. While Lawaai's goal-scoring rate was not as high as the likes of Banda or Mbidzo - or even compared with most of his modern era teammates, Lawaai's on-field influence and playmaking skills are often cited as the reasons he keeps his place in the starting lineup.

Gadois became a hot topic in Vilita after rising to glory as the spearhead for Strike FC's Vleague 27 championship, with 8 league goals and an incredibly 6 goals in the Vilitan Cup. Gadois, a product of the Inland Academy, earned an invitation to the National Team Training camp for the first time in the build up to World Cup 58. While Gadois' international career was overshadowed by teammate Viji-mara Lawaai, Gadois performances at Strike FC would see the player lavished with medals, awards and accomplishments including multiple Stellar Division, Vilitan Cup and Tropical Trophy titles, as well as many Vilitan player of the Season awards.

A product of the Turoki Academy, Adjei has sport in the blood, being a descendent of former Stellar Division top Forward award winner Ippolit Adjei. Adjei moved on a loan to newly promoted Hojosan in The Yorozura after WC57 quals as part of an investment deal with the clubs kit sponsors, VIlitan based Vilaye energy drink. When that deal expired, Adjei returned to the Vilitan League, being snapped up by Kiiarana in the Stellar Division and quickly rising to the level of stardom with strong performances and crucial goals during Season 29, seeing the single-cap player called to the squad for World Cup 59. Adjei's impressive performances earned him a high-profile transfer to Arcticala Inlet for V-League 30 where the strong performances continued, including earning the highest performance rating in the V-League during Season 33 while scoring 11 goals. After the Electricians began dropping down the table, Adjei bolted to Colonial Sile for Season 35 in a high-profile transfer that resulted in 11 goals during Adjei's debut season in Sile. After spending two seasons in Sile, Adjei moved to Yeaddin to play for the Owls during Season 37. After just one season in Yeaddin, Adjei switched to Strike FC to form the fearsome threesome with Viji-mara Lawaai and Yves Gadois.

Kilpter is joint Vilitan & Turori national, but declared to play for Vilita, with the lure of World Cup competition in Vilita's entry into World Cup 57 the key decision maker after the Turorian side was not entered. Kilpter netted 4 times during the World Cup 57 campaign but missed three matches due to an undisclosed injury. After struggling to win silverware with the Yeaddin Owls, Kilpter made the Largest Transfer in V-League history (12.7 kT) to Turorian side Cednia Beach. The transfer was more than double the 4.5kT previous transfer record in the Vilitan League, which was also payed by Cednia Beach to Yeaddin (for Antonis Siazzu). The struggles continued for Kilpter in the hunt for Silverware as Cednia Beach simply could not get over the hurdle, either in the V-League or in the UICA Champions League. Cednia Beach recouped their transfer fee in dishing Kilpter out to East Franz Athletic in the Polar Islandstates prior to Season 33. A rejuvinated Kilpter received praise for his performances in the Polar Islandstates while Cednia Beach would go on to miss out on Champions Cup qualification for the first time. Kilpter's international career has bolstered since his departure from the Tropics, having regained his place in the side for World CUp 64 Qualifying in a 3-player rotation with Erocka Lorei and Viji-mara Lawaai. Kilpter would continue to play a bit-part role for the Vilitan National Team, earning a start in the World Cup 68 final.

Bansoa was a training partner of Sirkii Moliaudo at the Coastal Academy, and many believed that Moliaudo's prowess in front of goal was due solely to his close partnership with Bansoa. After not being called to the line during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Bansoa decided it was time for a change, breaking ties with Moliaudo and Marine Coast United, signing for Arcticala Inlet in the Stellar Division. Bansoa featured frequently for the Jungle Cats during the World Cup 58 Campaign, performing well, but scoring no goals, relegating him from the top selection in the subsequent Cup of Harmony held in Vilita and New Montreal States.

Eagle's Cup III Champions

:: TRIGRAMME [TUR] ::

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 92 ] Sharif Deniibo [ - Lonngeylin City (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 3 :: GOALS::SR: U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Snapped up at a young age by the Turoki Tide who identified a young Deniibo as an ideal prospect to play along side and be tutored by the Tide's Turorian National team goalkeeper Hooizo Nuakoi. After spending 5 seasons as apprentice to Nuakoi in Turoki, Deniibo switched to Lonngeylin City in an attempt to get regular first team action.

[ 1 ] Ronji Miiastara [ - Jlinal Cove (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 36 CAPS: 75 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Miiastara joined Marine Coast United in Vilita for their V-League 27 campaign in the Declasse, just the second ever for the club at that level. Miiastara was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net, and he did just that, helping lead Marine Coast United back to the Stellar Division at the first attempt leading up to V-League 28. After competing in the UICA 'B' Champions League, Marine Coast finished a respectable 7th place in the V-League but just missed out on a UICA place. Miiastara jumped ship to Kiiarana City in order to participate in the UICA Globe Cup prior to Season 29. While Kiiarana did not make the huge title push expected of them, Miiastara let in a career low 14 goals during Season 30, leading Kiiarana to a runner up finish in the Stellar Division a place in the UICA Champions League and a Tropical Trophy victory. It would be the lone high point at the club for Miiastara, however. After losing his 'ever present' status as National Team goalkeeper to the domestically succesful Hooizo Nuakoi, Miiastara made the switch to Colonial for Season 35 and immediately added a second Tropical Trophy victory to his resume. After bouncing around for seasons Miiastara finally found a home in Lonngeylin backstopping the rise of Lonngeylin Coast from a Declasse club to a Stellar Division challenger, leading the club to a pair of consecutive 4th-placed finish and Champions Cup qualification during V-League Seasons 40 & 41. After Lonngeylin Coast moved to Youth and Zelkki Milake, Miiastara switched to Jlinal Cove and led them to their first ever Champions Cup appearance during the 54th UICA Cycle.

[ 93 ] G.Q Disterfred II [ - Turoki Isle - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 15 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team. Disterfred was a member of the AOCAF 41 Championship Winning side, but did not start any of the 7 matches en-route to the title. When head coach Nycflala Kater took a back seat early in the competition during AOCAF 42, however, Disterfred had his chance to play as Vilita & Turori earned their second consecutive AOCAF title. However, Disterfred's domestic career took a negative turn when Inura Forests were relegated out of the Vilitan League, prompting a cross-country transfer to the Kionao Locals in the Declasse division. Despite the strong leadership of Lita Adjei and good performances in the UICA Competitions, Kionao was unable to get promoted and eventually Disterfred would move to Turoki Isle in order to get a chance to play in the Stellar Division

------- D RLC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 26 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Laina-Sola started their career as a training in Inura before being spotted by the big clubs and playing a few seasons with Jlinal Cove and Makosile in Vilita. Then, however, the young Turorian defender finally made the big move home to Mliona-Lpaka in time for V-League Season 44.

[ 6 ] Inaosnaa Klanoa [ - Eastal Lunar (Vilita) - ]

[ 2 ] Yoains Konoaafeo [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 38 CAPS: 138 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Konoaafeo was the top defensive product of the Yeaddin Academy and was expected to be part of the Vilitan national team set up due to this fact. However, after not being capped during World Cup 57 Qualifying, and learning of Turori's intention to enter World Cup 58, Konoaafeo switched allegiances both for club and country. After playing half of V-League 26 with the Kionao Locals, Konoaafeo moved to Cednia Beach AFC where he would lead the Coconut Kickers to their second V-League championship, being named Turorian player of the season in the process. From there, it would be a long run of struggles as Cednia Beach would lose their title as "Turori's Best" to rivals Mliona-Lpaka. However, Konoaafeo stayed loyal and eventually returned to the top with his club as a member of the Cednia Beach AFC squad that won the Vilitan Cup during Season 43, and subsequently went on to win the 50th UICA Globe Cup, the first ever UICA Top-Level Champions from Turori.

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 22 ] Klaillal Tuirma [ - Mliona-Lpaka - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 27 CAPS: 48 :: GOALS::SR: 8 )
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal will work with Restiaa Mumamba to become the future "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. Playing in a unique role, Tuirma will be expected to fill the role of being able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there are no subs left. Tuirma will certainly be starting as a substitute during their debut campaign in World Cup 62 but may get the chance to start against weaker opposition. After being brought up through the academy system at Kionao, Tuirma signed a professional contract with Colonial Sile in Vilita for Season 35, winning silverware in the first match, the Tropical Trophy triumph over Strike. Tuirma's stay in Sile didn't last long, however, coaxed back to the luxury of Arcticala Inlet to help in their Champions-Cup qualifying campaign of Season 38. Tuirma returned to Turori during Season 44 as a member of Mliona-Lpaka AFC

[ 22 ] Restiaa Mumamba [ - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 35 CAPS: 132 :: GOALS::SR: 7 )
Mumamba was the definition of a versatile player for Vilita's Yeaddin Owls after joining them for the V-League 27 season from Jlinal Cove FC. Mumamba played in every position from Central Defender to Striker, scoring a game winning goal in one game and a game saving tackle in the next. Mumamba is an expert choice for a third sub or to allow tactical changes on the pitch without substitutions being made. The strong and versatile performances of Mumamba during Season 28 earned Mumamba a high profile transfer to defending Stellar Division champions Arcticala Inlet but he left the Electricians the following season to be apart of the growing Yeaddin Owls squad. Mumamba spent 4 seasons in Yeaddin without recording any meaningful domestic awards other than the Season 29 Turorian Player of the Season award. The lure of international competition was too great for Mumamba who joined the Turoki Tide for Season 34, doing so in time for their 43rd UICA Cycle run. Mumamba helpd the Tide lift the UICA Globe Cup and UICA Super Cup, one of three Turorian players on the roster for the Tide's Triumph. However, after achieving glory with the Tide, Mumamba returned to his former club Yeaddin, vowing to one day bring the same success back to the Lirai Asku Castle.

Kulkkiia was developed at the Cednia Beach Academy having been highly scouted and recruited by teams throughout Turori and even Vilita. After the Turori Eels failure to qualify for World Cup 64, Kulkkiia became the subject of media attention questioning whether the aging crop of players should make way for younger players like Kulkkiia in the Esportiva-hosted Cup of Harmony for World Cup 64. Kulkkiia added his name to the long line of major transfers involving Cednia Beach after being transferred to SC Montfort in the Licentian Isles prior to Season 42

Kigoouao signed for Morata Valley FC for V-League 26 and instantly made an impact at the Vilitan club, earning Top Goalscorer honors in the Declasse while leading Morata Valley to Stellar Division Promotion. Kigoouao was unfazed by the higher level of competition, upping the goal count to 16 in Season 27 and firmly setting the expectation that they would be the go-to forward for the Turori National Team in World Cup 58. Kigoouao was named Morata Valley player of the season during Season 27 and 28. After many outstanding seasons at Morata Valley, Kigoouao joined the Turoki Tide for V-League 30.

The Bedistan Football Association requests that the Football Association of Turori grant it membership in the Eagle’s Club and entry to the fifth Eagle’s Cup, to defend the title which Bedistan has held for nearly two centuries. We are an association of clubs from the original territory of the former Grand Dominion of Bedistan, including such well-known teams as Yuba United and Jamaica Giants. We organize the biennial Bedistani Cup for all our members, and the Bedistan Football League through which our members can strive for promotion to the Élite League. We wish to claim our place as successor to the original Bedistan Football Association, which was dissolved over a century ago.

Our roster for the fifth Eagle’s Cup consists of players from the top Bedistani clubs, including certain clubs which are outside the territory of the Bedistan Football Association but which have significant historical ties to Bedistan. We propose to incorporate a silver eagle above the crest on our kits to represent our status as titleholders in the competition. Our squad list, home venues, and kit designs are provided in the enclosed documents.

Please note that our team will be represented by the last flag of Bedistan, the green-blue-green tricolor defaced by an industrial green gear fimbriated black. Both the design specifications and color samples have been provided. However, in case your manufacturing partner is unable to accurately reproduce the industrial green fabric, we can have our flag produced for you in whatever dimensions you require, given forty-eight hours’ notice.

Kits
Bedistan’s kits for the Eagle’s Cup are produced by Hampton Textiles, an ancient company which once supplied the kits for the original Bedistan national team, and which has always refrained from smearing its logo all over its work. The home kit is green and blue, the colors which Bedistan had just recently adopted, both as a nation and as a football team, when it first played in and won the Eagle’s Cup. The away kit is in the original colors of Bedistan, gray and blue. The kits incorporate the traditional symbol of Bedistan, a gear, surmounted by a silver eagle, representing Bedistan’s triumph in the last Eagle’s Cup nearly two hundred years ago. The gear is embroidered using a special technique that has been passed down for generations at Hampton Textiles to produce an intensely bright color known as ‘industrial green’. This color is also used for the players’ names and numbers on the home shirts, as well as on the blue away shorts. In case of a kit clash, gray shorts are also available.

Schedule
Because Bedistan’s grandest footballing stage, the historic Holmes Stadium, happens to be owned by a certain organization with which the Bedistan Football Association is not currently on the best of terms, Eagle’s Cup matches will instead be hosted at the grounds of three of the BFA’s member clubs.

Bedistan vs Vilita: Alesanka Park, Yuba (149 000)
Alesanka Park is, quite simply, a monument to the most successful football club in the history of the game. Situated in the center of Yuba both literally and figuratively, the stadium’s most distinctive element is its extensive museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of UICA trophies. The ground, completed in 2190, was the first to host all three of UICA’s tournament finals, including that of Champions’ Cup 40, in which Yuba United failed to defend its title and instead saw Valladar rivals Fontvielle Impact lift the trophy. The club’s most vocal support inhabits the Morlock End, named for the legendary Bedistan and Yuba United striker. For this opening match, the BFA will have on public display the original trophy awarded to Bedistan as champions of Eagle’s Cup IV, which has been generously loaned for the occasion by a private collector.

Bedistan vs Nephara: The Caldera, Sonoma City (98 400)
The Caldera is the home of Sonoma City Volcanoes, the best-supported team in Bedistan’s most populous city. It was designed to replace the decaying and oversized Esther Marchese Memorial Stadium, which had been built more for national-team football than for the club game. The latter never properly took root in Bedistan’s two premier cities, and the Volcanoes’ recent relegation to the Bedistan Football League Second Division is unlikely to help matters, but their matches still manage to draw tens of thousands of supporters from the city’s tens of millions of denizens.

Bedistan vs West Angola: New Kingstonian, Jamaica (80 000)
The New Kingstonian, built on the site of the original Kingston Stadium, is home to Jamaica Giants, five-time champions of Bedistan. They failed to make much of an impression on the modern era until 2236–37, when they won their first Élite League title and then, in Paripanan football’s centennary season, lifted the Champions’ Cup. The stadium consists mostly of large, shallow, open-air stands, in contrast to the compact, enclosed designs which are commonplace in Paripana. Despite concerns that recent success would dilute their fanbase, Giants supporters remain vocal enough to make up for their ground’s acoustic shortcomings, and will surely turn out in song for Bedistan as well.

Vilita vs Bedistan: Tivali Ring Stadium, Alikki-Corra (87 000)
Nephara vs Bedistan: Farham Arena, Sabrefell (88 000)
West Angola vs Bedistan: New Warren Memorial Football Complex, Farreth Island (1 000)

TROPICORP EXPAND REACH IN EAGLE'S CUP
JUNGLE CATS SPORT QUASI-CORPORATE LOOK

For the first time in the modern era, the Vilita Jungle Cats will step on the pitch wearing kits not produced on the historic presses at 3WD in Lonngeylin.

It will be far from the only thing that will seem out of place for the modern-era Jungle Cats, however, as Nycflala Kater's side travel to, of all places, Bedistan to open their Eagle's Cup V campaign.

Confirmed as entrants only in the final hours, the dispute between the Paripana Sporting Council and the Bedistan Football Association eventually resulted in the Bedistan Football Association forming its own entry to the Eagle's Cup, after the PSC had publicly denounced the competition.

One of the items at odds for the PSC was the decision to use Tropicorp Sports' so-called "Manly Balls" in competition during the Eagle's Cup. The second major production ball produced by Tropicorp, the TS-L1, the formal name for the modern day 'back to basics' ball original developed in the R&D lab to support training for World Cup 69, is a stark contrast to the popular TCp-X1 ball that has been used throughout the multiverse since its initial release during World Cup 67.

Politics aside, Nycflala Kater's side will be the first Vilitan squad to contest an official match against Bedistan since the World Cup 26 finals in Commerce Heights. There is already much history between Vilita and Bedistan in World Cup competition, including the historic 7-8 defeat the Jungle Cats suffered at the hands of Bedistand during World Cup 21, ending the Jungle Cats unbeaten run and their championship reign following the World Cup 20 triumph, a drought that would last 48 cups until Vilita recently lifted the World Cup 68 trophy in Legalese.

Unlike neighbors Turori, Vilita's Eagle's Cup history is far from checkered, being eliminated by Bedistan in the Quarter Final stage during Eagle's Cup IV where Bedistan would go on to lift the trophy, and losing at the same stage during Eagle's Cup III that was eventually won by Turori.

Kater's Eagle's Cup V squad will look different than the World Cup 69 side, and not just due to the new all-blue kits provided by Tropicorp Sports that curiously resemble the flag of Tropicorp more than the traditional Vilitan look. Kater has called on many of his former playing partners for 'one last hurrah' on the World Stage, letting some of the core members of the modern Jungle Cat squad have a rest in the build up to the next AOCAF campaign. Even Kater himself is named on the roster for the Jungle Cats in a squad that some fear has been heavily influenced by the ever-growing entity that is Tropicorp. In fact, three young prospects from Tropicorp FC, the only professional club in Tropicorp, have been named in Vilita's final Eagle's Cup roster, a first ever call up for all 3 Tropicorp youngsters, none of whom are believed to have previously been on Nycflala Kater's radar for National Team selection.

Three youngsters aside, though, it will be hard to argue the experience of the well-travelled Jungle Cats who will roll into the famed Alesanka Park in Yuba looking to apply that experience to unseat the reigning champions in their return to international competition.

After Bedistan, the Jungle Cats will head to Yeaddin where they will host West Angola at the famed Lirai Asku Castle. Other matches to be held in Vilita included the Matchday 4 reversal with Bedistan at the Tivali Ring Stadium in Alikki-Corra and the final matchday clash with Nephara that will be contested at Tropicorp Park in what will be seen as an infrastructural warmup match ahead of the Semi-Final and Final matches to be played at the same venue as part of an agreement with the Island Emirate's of Turori, the Eagle's Club representative host.

Image

In the event of a clash, the Jungle Cats will also travel with a white change kit similar to the simpler-than-usual Tropicorp Sports designed primary kit.

The friendly folks at the Yttribian Football Federation have decided to perform a little sort of "experiment" for the Eagle's Cup. While an invitation to the Eagle's Cup is just as prestigious of an honour, the Campionato Esportiva will be taking over the nation, both emotionally and team wise. Therefore, the Yttribian Football Federation has decided to send an "equally as good team" to the Eagle's Cup. This team, as stated by the Yttribian Football Federation, is just as good as the actual team. They just haven't shown their true potential. Seeing this as an excellent way to help harbor talents, and mature them for future tournaments, the Yttribian Football Federation is sending "Team 2215" to participate in The Eagle's Cup.

Due to the "experimental" status of the team, results will not be counted for the overall Yttribian record. However, you can bet your life that the Yttribian Football Federation have put in a lot of time, and dedication to Team 2215! At least, that's what we (the unpaid interns) were told to write in the official team booklet.

God... Catheline hated it when people brought up her lineage.
"Yes," she told the patient journalist, after a lengthy sigh. The journalist on the other end of the phone was from the Cranequin Byzantine - one of the few Greek newspapers lining the streets. The Byzantine Reawakening, as it had popularly been called, was a recent phenomenon of Nephara - and it had been quite a success. Greek-Nepharim were now far more in the popular eye, and had a lot more... cultural importance, if that was the right term. But there had never been a Greek in the Cormorants - Stockinger, despite her name, was half- by blood. However reluctantly.
She'd known it was inevitable, a call she'd have to take. But that doesn't mean she'd enjoy it.
"How'd you find out, anyway?" she stalled.
"About your father?"
Yes. My father. How did you find out the shitbag ever existed, you fucking hack? "Yes."
"Oh, we looked up some records," said the journalist, one Theo Samaras, cheerfully. "Though it was hard at times to sort through your mother's, ah, chequered past-"
"Kill yourself." Catheline hung up, and tried to regain her composure.
Yes. Okay. Her mother had been a prostitute. 'Chequered past', fuck off, it was legal in this civilised nation and well-regulated besides. And yes, at one stage, a man who happened to be called Georgios Theoklitos paid for a quick fuck in a back alley. And then there was a child, and Theoklitos managed, some fucking how, to persuade young Marisa Stockinger - she'd been twenty-three, twenty fucking three, and bless her a notion of romance still remained in her head by then - that he'd support her, and stay with her, if she kept the child.
Seven months in, and oh, how fucking well-timed that had been, the man had had a religious reawakening of some sort and disappeared from Marisa's life. Catheline had never seen him - good thing, too, or she'd have a murder to hide.
It had been a miracle Marisa had treated her daughter with the kindness she had, with the olive skin and brown eyes of the man who'd abandoned her (and thank christ, she'd inherited precious little else).
If that made her half-Greek, then it was certainly nothing she was proud of. As far as she was concerned, Catheline didn't have a father.
Anyway. The journalists could wait their damn turn. For now, Catheline had business to attend to.
Her mobile rang... Samaras again. Catheline sighed, put it on silent, and walked out the door.

"So what's this Stockinger girl like, anyway?" Amanda Clough grinned. "Need t' get a bit of foreknowledge on my competition."
It was not for nothing that she'd tried to look casual as she slid onto a table containing Georgia Kite, Karl Finnan and Diandra Ballard - all had spent time at the same club as the leftback. And hell, if Amanda was anything she was a devil for scuttlebutt.
"Ahh..." said Georgia awkwardly. "Well, I dunno if we should gossi-"
"Stocki's a bit of an odd fish," said Karl. "Good lass. Great player. Hell of a professional."
Diandra sipped at a protein shake. "Christ, the lass has a mouth on her, though. Knows more curses than anyone I could name."
"Very, ah... cryptic. That's what I'd say. Tends t' mention her past a lot without saying much. Then gives a weirdly crooked smile - you'll get used to her doin' that - and changes the subject."
"She does have that air about her," Georgia conceded. "It's not annoying. She's just... kind of strange."
"First Byzzie to represent the national side, right?" said Amanda.
"Yeah... 'bout that," muttered Karl.
"Word of advice, love?" offered Diandra. "Don't mention that to her. Ever. That side's through her father, and she fuckin' loathes her father."
"Why's that?"
"Hah. No idea. There's that cryptic thing again, she'll never talk that openly about it."
"Right..."
"Oh, and don't let on you know anything else about her. She hates people who pry."
"Yeah."
"And those as talk about her behind her back," said Georgia, quietly.
"Yeah, I get it... don't worry." Amanda grinned. "We'll get on just fine."

There was a knock at the door.
Mortlock rapped her fingers on the desk. "Come in!"
Auburn Bywater, in that sidling way she had, slunk into the room. Say what you want about her skills with diplomacy, when she was in the company of her superiors her body language was anything but subtle. Or well-controlled.
"Bedistan and Vilita," she said, shaking her head. "Bedistan and fucking Vilita."
"It's the sort of challenge the Cormorants will thrive against," said Mortlock sharply. "Now have a seat - did you need a drink?"
Auburn shuffled into the seat. "I'll pass on th- ah, hell, go on."
Mortlock poured out a couple of gins and tonic - Auburn took it gratefully, perhaps a little too quickly for Mortlock's liking. "Ta. Ah... right. So."
"You've spoken to the scouts?"
"Yeah, they're not too optimistic. Though Bedistan's somethin' of an unknown quantity. There's a hell of a lot of quality in that squad, though... just hard t' say how it'll pan out."
"Well, I can't say I know how they'll play..."
"Fairly balanced. Numbers seem t' indicate a 3-5-2, and that'd make sense given what we know. Usual story of they're better than us all over the pitch."
"Damn. Vilita?"
"Oh, they're a known quantity, alright," said Auburn cheerfully. "Pensioners to a man. 'Cept the handful as aren't, who're young enough t' be the first lot's children, but... anyway. They're a great squad, but I dunno... we want to get stuck in, we could just beast 'em for ninety minutes. Maybe."
"Hmph. Yeah. We'll see. Either way, we'll see. West Angola's first, after all. Interesting political situation there, I hear."
Auburn scratched the back of her head. "Yeah, uh. About that. How, uh... how d'you feel about thousand-capacity stadia."
Mortlock stared. "Capacity in the thousands, you mean. Surely."
"Naw. Lit'rally holds a, one, thousand."
"Really? Fuck me. I thought that was just hyperbole."
Auburn casually finished her drink, grimacing a little. She'd forgotten that Jess Mortlock's idea of a 'gin and tonic' was far more the former than the latter. "Yeah, well. Believe it. Anyway... will that be all?"
"... One last thing. Cath Stockinger. You, ah... said she could be an... interesting dressing-room presence."
"I did," said Auburn cautiously.
"How's she settling in?"
"Early days yet. She's doing alright, though. None of the clashes as I was worried about."
"Clashes? First I heard you were worried about clashes."
"She's a touch... ah... blunt? Sarcastic? Abrasive? Aggressive? Self-loathing racist?"
"...What was that last thing?"
"Look, I'll keep an eye on it, guv," said the assistant hastily. "Anything comes up, I'll nip it in th' bud. Better yet, teach Franziska how to."
"Yeah, well. As long as it doesn't become an issue on the pitch."
"It won't, guv. That's a promise."

OOC: All related to The Calanian Union should be taken in IC sense of rivalry after the opposition, clash of ideologies and war between both nations in the recent past months.

Federación Guayabalense de Fútbol HQ's. San Salvador, SJG.

The investigators and analysts that the national football team has at its disposal was meeting to see who would be rivals with which SJG will face in the Eagle's Cup, apart from seeing possible strategies that will be used for the respective games.

"That we good for now?" Analysts said one of the President of the Federation, in the purest accent demanding and impatient.

"The result of the draw for the group stage for the Eagle's Cup, the invitational tournament that anger the national team in a couple of days, where we visit different nations reciprocal visit" the president of the Federation said, as he unfolded a screen with information concerning the group stage.

"We want to pass something, we begin to formulate cravings analyzes, can not wait ..." said analyst Sambueza, waving his coffee cup to his impatience.

"Quiet! Enough of drama!" Cienfuegos analyst asked, praying that the other analysts maintain a decent behavior during the meeting.

"It is certainly difficult to calm them down, you are a great passion for their work, but let's start by presenting groups: We are located in the C group, which is Legalese."

"Uh oh .... difficult opponent and history, have talent and will not be at all easy to overcome, especially as visiting" the analyst said Ramirez.

"Where SJG will play their game against Legalese local status?" Analyst Cienfuegos said.

"It will be in the" 56 "in Ramirez" the federation president said, watching taking notes and quick research data on Legalese.

"Excellent, altitude but the rule is a bit difficult, is essential to train the physical aspects of the players and create special plays.

"The next opponent is The Inevitable Syndicate, known as The Calanian Union" a robotic voice during the meeting.

A 'Aaargh "generalized, the trio of analysts was enraged to learn the opponent due to the recent history between the two countries, was heard apathy due to the war of Corvidae and resentments arising fans and even the government itself .

"Damn, those are some motherf***ing opponents who play a little calm, but what we should do is undoubtedly neutralize shock, please. That's necessary." analyst Cienfuegos said in a desperate tone.

"We agree," said the other two analysts.

"Then there's The Royal Kingdom of Quebec" said automated voice again.

"This team is very good, have made excellent progress over the past few months we, and even surpass us in terms of ranking." Ramirez said the analyst,

"As Ramirez said, they have improved a lot but at least we know how they play.'d Be the most sensible thing that could neutralize Beauchemin, Marcos Zelaya also in case the log." Perez said the analyst, who spoke first.

"Who is Marcos Zelaya?" President of the Federation said.

"It's Rodolfo Zelaya's nephew, yes, the nephew of our star striker though you do not believe" the analyst said Perez.

"Traitor!" President of the Federation said.

The spirits were running high in the panel analysis, discussions arose enre analysts to sgerir recommendations for the national team, such as:

- Focus more to play games.
- Defend in cautiously.
- Take every opportunity possible goal.
- Play smart.
- Violate the physical players of The Calanian Union.
- Impose on condition homefield.

The final prediction was that they could fight for second place, but it was better to fight in the field, considering the recent failures of the national team in the recent WC Qualifiers.
