About the nation:Olastor is pretty much your standard run-of-the mill corporate dictatorship, based somewhere in Southern Rushmore, although until we can get the Polarian cartographers to provide us with a definitive location, we can't exactly be sure where (but it should consist of the mainland with a few decent sized islands nearby). No matter though, we will send directions on how to find your way here to all the clubs involved, and assorted media teams as required. In any case, we don't expect many fans to make the trip to what is, simply put, one of the worst nations to be in in the entirety of Rushmore, with the WA listing regional number ones in all the following categories: "Most Avoided", "Shortest Average Lifespan", "Fattest Citizens", "Rudest Citizens" and "Greatest Rich-Poor Divides". Olastor is also renowned for being one of the economic powerhouses of Rushmore, leading Rushmore in various sectors from Manufacturing (Arms and Automobiles especially) to Pizza Delivery and Trout Fishing, so if you're pretty rich, you'll be treated well here.
On the other hand, those with not so much money (and that includes all visitors), will probably be picked upon by the rest of society, and all the "government establishments", such as the elitist police, the elitist fire service, the elitist health service ... you get the picture. And with 39.8% of deaths in the past year coming from the rather vague category of "Disappearance", you'd better be on your guard, and stick closely to the private security provided to every club and its fans. And even though we can guarantee the relative safety of players, staff and officials, the same guarantees cannot be extended to the fans (what with corruption being so open and rife).
And whatever you do, never get involved in politics. You have no political freedoms here, and any attempt to subvert the order will result in "Disappearance", and probably one of a brutal nature if you haven't been press-ganged into the indentured labour cohorts. Civil Rights are very rare as well, so stick closely to the handbook that will be provided through the clubs in due course. The capital city is called Olastaryn, and is by far and away the largest city in the country, although there are a few other sizeable towns and cities as well. As for the environment, good luck finding much in or near the cities, although in the countryside it is quite a bit better..
The Stadia:National StadiumCapacity: 72,000
Location: Just outside the capital Olastaryn.
Description: The national stadium of Olastor, it has only hosted (till now) the Olastor national teams matches, and nothing else, as there is no cup competition yet in the country, and the league teams based in Olastor are based in different stadiums. Given its relative lack of use, its pretty much brand new, and so it's a very good neutral venue, emphasising the support of any team coming here even more than usually happens. Being situated out of the main city makes it hard to miss as one of the few landmarks in its surrounding area.
Capitol StadiumCapacity: 50,000
Location: Olastaryn
Description: Home stadium of Olastor's first professinal club team, Olastaryn FC, this stadium is situated pretty much centrally in the capital; and despite the proximity of the financial sector and the administrative buildings, a clever bit of town planning and engineering means that the traffic is nowhere as bad as one would think. The pollution outside the stadium on the other hand is awful, although it is bearable inside.
Great Park ArenaCapacity: 35,000
Location: Olastaryn
Description: Situated on the outskirts of the financial district, Great Park Arena plays host to Olastaryn United and IFSC participants Grafonil HQFC. Its name is derived from one of the few bits of environmental beauty left in Olastaryn, the neighbouring Great Park, which helps make up for the slightly small stadium by hosting big screens displaying the matches both here and elsewhere.
Battle Hill StadiumCapacity: 25,120
Location: Fort Wolcalt
Description: The town of Fort Wolcalt is situated quite far in the north of the country, and was the site of a battle quite important to Olastor's history (although in what way is still a mystery; the town was sacked and all record of it was lost a few years later). Wolcalt Keep SC feature here, and the climate is quite a lot colder here than in any other stadium. Although it'll still be a decent temperature for the duration of the tournament.
Cavecla ComplexCapacity: 25,000
Location: Cavecla
Description: The Complex, is as its name suggests, very large and very complex. Being the main sporting facility outside of Olastaryn's city limits (and some would argue the biggest in the country anyways), it hosts many, many different sports, and the stadium sees a ton of use over the year, putting on things like athletics, rugby and even the odd cricket match to name a few. Football still forms a good part of the complex's use though, and a good portion of the teams will be based nearby to make use of the training facilities available. Cavecla Sports Club, which operates in many sports, plays its football here.
Niurthenre HouseCapacity: 17,500
Location: Niurth (only city of the second biggest island)
Description: Based near the ancestral home of the Niurthenre family, who built up a lot of the city from scratch and part funded the stadium's development, it is quite probably the best looking stadium in Olastor (OOC: it looks quite similar to
this, but a bit grander and more beautiful, although taste is subjective). Compared to all the above stadia, Niurthenre House is situated in pretty open countryside space, so it's probably the best place to be in Olastor (in general, the islands are much better than the mainland). It is home to AC Niurth.
Blake Valley StadiumCapacity: 20,000
Location: Blaketon
Description: Back to mainland, and we go to the rather isolated town of Blaketon, featuring IFSC participants Blaketon Athletic. Blaketon is situated in more mountainous terrain towards the west, and has relatively few roads in and out of it, having instead resorted to air and rail travel (through the mountains) for its supply lines. Despite its isolation, Blaketon features an interesting mix of modern and ancient buildings side by side, and boasts 4 of the the biggest research facilities in Olastor, covering most scientific disciplines.
Beachport BowlCapacity: 16,000
Location: Hemula (main city of biggest island)
Description: On towards the island of Hemula, we come to the smallest pre-existing stadium on the list, situated a stone's throw from the island's quite pristine beaches. Hemula is the largest city on the islands, and also the nearest to the mainland, making it the main port of call between the two, so there are very developed transport links all over. Nonetheless, the rest of the city is quite vibrant too, being quite popular with those who want an escape from the mainland but remain near to it. The Bowl is home to Hemula Islanders.
Cavecla ParkCapacity: 22,000
Location: Cavecla
Description: Onto the first of the new stadia, we return to Cavecla. Well, just outside of Cavecla, where this brand new, but small, stadium has been built. Not much else to say about it really.
Southgate ArenaCapacity: 38,000
Location: Erlestone
Description: With the start-up of the new league, the city of Erlestone was missed out as residents (the rich ones anyways) didn't want all that commotion to ruin their city and maybe even their bank accounts. However, consensus seems to have changed, and recently a push was started to form a football team to represent the city. With that in the works, but seemingly likely to happen in the end, the OFA approved the construction of Southgate, situated near the renovated remains of the only existing gate from the original city walls.
Chansair ParkCapacity: 27,510
Location: Chansair
Description: Chansair is a small coastal town located quite close to Olastaryn, and although the capital has its own dedicated port town, a decent volume of traffic comes through here, and as a result the town is famous for its market, which forms the large part of the town centre. Elsewhere, there isn't really a beach to speak of, with the land ending in decent sized cliffs. The stadium itself is located on the outskirts, but not far enough away from the market to escape its effects. Therefore, fans travelling will be submerged in its chaos, so be prepared to hang on to your money (and your wallet itself, seeing that the market is rife with pickpocketers).
