Fairbanks, DARVALE - And it's back! After Darvale's Athletic Astaria finished in 4th position of its last edition, the International FireStorm Cup, a competition which sees the best clubs of various nations compete against each other. For this edition of the IFSC, Grimsby Town FC and Bayern Hautbregen were chosen to represent Darvale. We'll take a closer look at both teams.

Grimsby Town FC - Placed in Group Four, which will have its matches played at the Battle Hill Stadium, located at Fort Wolcalt, in the far north of Olastor, Grimsby Town FC, current titleholders of the Darvalian First League, will be facing Club Pollare (Wolfbenz), Peeto Gordost (Polkopia), Heigellion (Western Borderlands), Blanchester City (Koana Islands), and Riverside City (Star United States), with a small bunch of foreign players. Grimsby Town's previewed starting eleven will be - Ashwood, Carvello, Hallows, Porter, Oliwinnie, Pearson, Camargo, Geis, Meadows, McKleigh, and Lenning. Despite the recent last-minute signing of The Fallenmark Islands goalkeeper Ruslan Korpelainen, Mike Ashwood, who replaced Darvalian star goalkeeper Lyndon Holmes after the latter left the club for Citizens United FC, is planned to be the starting goalkeeper of the team. Expectations for Bayern Hautbregen aren't high, with a group that will pose formidable threats to the Darvalian club. BH'S previewed starting eleven will be - Allen, Rockton, Brown, Shelton, Blake, Davids, Colton, Delacour, Walker, Reed, and Simpson - and will be playing in a regular 4 - 4 - 2 formation. A good start for the Omarians?
Oh man...its been a while since we had reported about the Firestorm Cup, but we wouldn't want to remember how AWFUL was the Omarian's teams performances were last edition, where not any of the teams had qualified out of the group stage!!But after the matches yesterday, we can pretty say that the Omarians MAYBE are going off for a good start, lets start with Toddinlofer!Oh the bees, once were a runners up in the 5th edition of the cup..good times, well, as much as it is sad, that was the farthest any Omarian team had gotten, but in yesterday's match, they were able to grab a morale-boosting win against FC Endeavour, Toddinlofer started off quite weakly, as horrors from the past edition started to set, however withing around 6 minutes the team got its defense back in good shape and we all knew then that the team was ready for the match, it was INDEED true, the team got its lead at the 25th minute, when middlefielder Petren got a good shot and a clear line of sight on the goal, and then it was happiness, the team was leading 1-0.The match continued until the first half had met its fate, ending to be clear, in the 58th minute, voila!A new goal is born from Petren again! This time we knew that Toddinlofer wanted to get rid of its god-awful past where they had lost as bad as 4-1, to teams that had their first touches in the tournament, but with the performance of yesterday, we'd say that Toddinlofer is INDEED BACK IN THE GAME , however Endeavour also wanted to show their muscles, which came packaged in a header in the 89th minute, however, the match ended in the bees' favor, which gained them a valuable 3 points, Toddinlofer currently hopes, as much as their fans to overcome last years trauma locally and internationally, where the league cup slipped from the tips of their fingers to Gargovsan.

Image

On the other, more disappointingly, Beden FC cannon only had a draw, of 1-1, which they were leading the match in, however looking at the last edition, Beden had less morale, collateral and vital damage done to them last year, as they were in an already bad shape, placing 5th in the league, but had a little-bit more of a better performance than how Toddinlofer had done, however, they still either didn't start their engines properly, or simply still not recognizing the fact that the cup had started however, we might just as well as biasing in Beden FC's favor, maybe the opposing team had potential, or maybe that Beden had simply screwed up, nobody knows, however, on the bright side, it wasn't a loss!1 is better than 0 right?RIGHT, however, it wasn't that bright for the fans, which were indeed in quite a shock, considering that they had expected their team to actually make a difference than the last time, but patience is key, people must not rush in judging, considering the administration problems that had happened over the course of summer, Beden FC is not THAT stable, but was stable enough to bring in something decent, a draw. The match had started well, a couple of attacks here and there, as if two boxers where throwing indirect punches, both of the teams had some vital attacks but non gave birth to a goal, until the first half had ended. The second half starts and Beden goes for a goal in the 47th minute, AND ITS IN, Rengong, Beden's currently most iconic player, scored the thriller in the 47th minute, however the opposing team didn't give up, until they got their drawing goal in the 74th minute, a bummer for the fans indeed.

Borderlandian teams win both opening matches

What a day for the Borderlandian teams, beating both of their opponents by 1 goal and even getting a very surprising upset. This is actually looking fairly good for the Borderlandians especially Hollow Cliffs, but that comes later

Heigellion Vs. Blanchester City 4-3
This game was not a defensive game at all, both goalies let in some quite mediocre shots and both defenses were Swiss cheese and many chances were missed but there were seven that hit their target and Heigellion came out on top with goals from Jack Gorammis (2), Calvin Costa and Argo Lexinare. the Islanders from Koana had goals from Per Sedin and Lou Speechley (2).
Not a bad start for the #5 Team in the WBFA.

Scorecard:
Heigellion:
Calvin Costa '21
Jack Gorammis '32
Jack Gorammis '53
Argo Lexinare '75

Blanchester City:
Lou Speechley '11
Per Sedin '34
Lou Speechley '47

Hollow Cliffs Vs. Jonho FC (13) 2-1
(The parentheses refers to the club's nation rank)
Oh boy, this is the big one eh? a classic upset? nah, but it was really surprising considering this team was RANKED. The minnows bit the shark this time and the path to getting out of the group stages got a little more "open". The two goals for Hollow Cliffs came from Marius Byzar who was on his top form today. The one goal from Jonho FC well, some people claimed that it was Marcus Semien or it just rolled in from hitting a Hollow Cliffs player, no matter anyhow.

Scorecard:
Hollow Cliffs
Marius Byzar '26
Marius Byzar '41

Jonho FC (13)
Could've hit a Hollow Cliffs player or Marcus Semien touched it in or it could be totally different

Polkopian Clubs Make Their Mark On Their First Day

Today, the two Polkopian clubs, FC Valinkova, and Peeto Gordost' made their debut in the International Firestorm Cup against Golden City and Grimsby Town FC respectively. Unfortunately for the Polkopian clubs, only one of them managed a victory today after FC Valinkova won 1-0 over Golden City, and Peeto Gordost' lost 0-3 against Grimsby Town FC.

FC Valinkova

FC Valinkova started out with their traditional 4-5-1 formation,
Image
with Polkopian striker, Immanuil Serevo leading the attack. Though he was given a 1-on-1 chance with the goalkeeper early on, he was unable to capitalize on his chance and failed to score throughout the rest of the game. It was highly underrated American player, Ryan Talburt, that was the goalscorer today, with a beautiful strike that curved past the keeper, and into the back of the net, signaling the only goal of the game as the final whistle blew at 1-0.

See the goal that won the match!

Peeto Gordost'

Unfortunately for the Polkopian club, they were not as lucky as their Polkopian counterparts. The score seemed the flatter Grimsby Town FC, as Peeto Gordost' seemed to play relatively well against the Darvalian club. Unfortunately, an error on Vladimir Polov, the starting keeper for Peeto Gordost' and the Polkopian National Team, severely hurt the team's morale and another two goals scored by Grimsby Town FC made matters even worse. There were few scoring opportunities for Peeto, as Grimsby seemed to have a rock-solid defense. Tomorrow, the team plays Blanchester City, in hopes of redeeming themselves after the humiliating defeat today.

The Kolbenz Times

Wolfian Teams Unsuccessful in their first match

Marlowes City FC 5-1 FC Kolbenz
Marlowes City FC Goalscorers:
10', 81' Fabio Nacional
26', 45+1' Sidney Coghlan
72' Cameron Rastersson

FC Kolbenz Goalscorers:
5' Timo Rier

The game against Marlowes City looked like a good one if you watched the first ten minutes. Left midfielder Timo Rier scored a beautiful header at the five minute mark, crossed in by Wendel Autenberg. Nearly everyone jumped out of their seats, the city of Kolbenz was ecstatic that they had just scored a goal.

Five minutes later, that all changed. Fabio Nacional smashed the ball into the top corner of the net, Soren Biermann unable to reach it. The city quieted down. The people thought it was a good goal, but started worrying that their team wouldn't come back. Then Sidney Coghlan scored. About twenty minutes later, he scored again. Kolbenz was now saddened, going into halftime, down 3-1.

In the second half, things got even worse. Cameron Rastersson scored a goal that probably could have been stopped by Biermann, but a goal was a goal. To add insult to injury, Fabio Nacional scored again in the 81st minute. The city was now crying, people disappointed by their team's performance. Some however, looked on the bright side, knowing that they'd get another chance to enact their revenge.

FC Kolbenz will take on Wokachow FC next, and expect better results than their last game.

Riverside City 1-0 Club Pollare
Riverside City Scorers:
67' Unknown

Club Pollare Scorers:
N/A

Riverside City playing Club Pollare was quite a boring game of the most part, until Riverside scored in the 67th minute, that is. Residents of Pollare will be disappointed that their team lost by a single goal, and the defensive line is the likely suspect to blame, with Ruben Pekkanen being further back than his defensive line.

Club Pollare will play Grimsby Town FC in their next match, which may prove to be a difficult match.

A Good Start

The International Firestorm Cup VIII is begins and Rarungan compete in competition by sending 2 of its most respected team, Persepur Bhagawanta and P.S.K.S Senadwipa. Persepur Bhagawanta is joined in Group 2 while P.S.K.S Senadwipa is in Group 6.

In the first match day, Persepur Bhagawanta met Cyrene Bay from Oberor ar Moro. The match was viewed as one sided where Persepur seems to control the match from the start. At first half, Persepur makes 3 goals, 2 from Adrian Permana in 7" and 33" and 1 from Wayan Adhi in 28". Cyrene Bay players seems to be out of focus and easily distracted by Persepur players and attacked. Persepur add more goals in the second half with Adrian Permana hattrick in 47" and followed by Komang Yudana in 52". Cyrene Bay eventually could takes opportunity to make a goal after a series of attempts to Persepur goalie. But Persepur continue to enlarge the goals difference by adding to more goals, 1 by Adrian Permana and other by Carlos Iota. The match was finished with 7-1 to Persepur victory.

On the other hand, P.S.K.S Senadwipa begin a modest start when they met Kortu Dunamo from Estenia. Both teams played carefully and seems to be balanced from both side. An attacked coming from Kortu Dunamo first but able to tackled by P.S.K.S goalkeeper. Kortu create several great attempt to break P.S.K.S goal but none of it finished into goal until in 40" after a miscommunication of P.S.K.S defender. 1-0 for Kortu after the first half. In the second half, P.S.K.S try to make even and create an attacked to Kortu goalie but none finished well. Kortu also makes some good advance but could be tackled by P.S.K.S goalkeeper. In 78", a goal was made by Gede Sudha Wirawan after a corner shoot by Tri Purnomo. 1-1 for P.S.K.S Senadwipa. The score was not changed until the end of the match.

Mixed day for Koanian teams in FireStorm Cup
           Heigellion 4 - 3 Blanchester City
Calvin Costa '21 Lou Speechley '11 '47
Jack Gorammis '32 '53 Per Sedin '34
Argo Lexinare '75

Tim Oulio hailed the performance of his Blanchester City side at the FireStorm Cup despite the fact they conceded four goals in their 4-3 loss to Heigellion

Oulio believes that Blanchester City played some 'fantastic' football in the 4-3 loss and even refused to criticise their defending, despite conceeding four times.

"It was by far our best performance away from home," he told KTV.

"We played fantastic football. We created, we were dynamic, we had someone special in Speechley, and Sedin and Scruby played a fantastic match.

"We played very well defensively and had no problems and controlled, and we conceded four ridiculous goals, and when you play well and score three goals you have to win, but we were in trouble right to the end.

"You can concede one but to concede four, that is a negative thing from such a great performance.

"It is very difficult to play like we did and score so many goals, that is difficult, and I cannot even blame the defensive play of the team, but the set-pieces and a rebound here and off the last man there, and we concede four goals which you can't do but the performance was excellent collectively and individually."

Oulio did reserve special praise for the match winner Jack Gorammis, who scored a goal in each half.

"I don't like to praise individually but Jack from the first minute was amazing," he said.

    Lexington-England 3 - 2 Berk Dragons

Efraim Nilsson '45(p) Midfielder '50(p)

Lexington-England started their FireStorm Cup campaign with victory over 10-man Berk Dragons.

Berk's striker charged down a clearance to give the Dragons the lead in fortuitous circumstances.

Eddie Lagerspetz forced in an Vincent Sealey cross to level and Efraim Nilsson put the hosts ahead from 12 yards after Berk's defender was deemed to have handled.

Berk's attacking midfielder equalised from the spot after he was fouled by Ashley Foerster before the Dragon's had a man sent off and Samuel Bergström won it.

GODZILLA WINS FOR ARSENAL, YA'AKOVI LOSES FOR UNITED
By Adelmio Bandini

OLASTOR - In what sounds like a classic reversal of fortunes, perennial runners-up Arsenal de Releinthi have managed to win the first of many all-important games in the eighth edition of the International Firestorm, while twenty-seven-time league winners Riuwiee United have fallen into a Mineirazo-sized trap, with their highly-touted new signing Oren Ya'akovi failing to keep his new team from falling 7-2 to Darvale's Bayern Hautbregen.

To be honest, United's loss to Bayern probably was to be expected, even with Ya'akovi's addition to the Blue Tribesmen. The Israeli's only had maybe two months, three months at most, of training with his new teammates, and probably he's still trying to get used to Georges Leblanc's 4-5-1 formation for United. Ya'akovi was just a reserve striker for Maccabi Tel Aviv, and in the rare times he was ever used, he would be placed more in the role of a CAM, supporting whoever is actually playing striker for the Israelis. But, after a 23 million euro transfer to Riuwiee United, Ya'akovi was immediately thrust into the forefront of the offense, a role where he's never really been comfortable ever since he first began playing football. He's even been quoted that all he expected to be was to support the attacker, but now he's the attacker, and his best hope for support is Hans Gruber (no, really), and the Indonesian Hamengkubuwono, whose name is so long that they have to shrink it down to H'kubuwono just to fit it into his jersey. In fact, Hameng K turned into the hero of the game, as he scored the two second-half goals that kept the Blue Tribesmen from being shut out of the scoreboard. It probably wasn't the defenders' best day, too, as they did not expect the ball to be in their half every dang time. Karim Ansarifarid certainly ain't my man of the match for today.

But things are much, much better for the Gunners. Godzilla (full name Zito Leandro Gomes de Araujo), the Brazilian striker with the spines of his back sticking out of his skin that makes him look very much like the Japanese monster, linked up very nicely with Ya'akovi's compatriot Gal Tza'eer to produce a brace each for the two of them, and a win for the Arsenal against Britonisea's Brit-kicks FC. One could argue that Arsenal made the better buy with Godzilla, signing him from Corinthians on just fifteen million euros and bagging them a win in an international club tournament. Meanwhile, Oren Ya'akovi cost Riu United 23 million euros, and yet he couldn't even score one for them during the FireStorm Cup. That kid better look at Godzilla and emulate the Brazilian, or else the Blue Tribesmen are in jeopardy of getting eliminated from this tourney.

Mixed Feelings for Estenian Teams!

As International Firestorm Cup starts, Estenian teams, start with mixed feelings, as champions Jelle FC won with the not surprising score of 6-1, the team of Greenwich Glens. Jelle FC players, have good standards of play as they have stopped since May 14th 2014 and since then they were training for a tournament like this, as the board told the team that they were put to International Firestorm Cup VII and since that announcement they have burned their muscles, except for month June, which they rested and enjoyed their summer before going ot the training ground and train for the grand opener of the 8th Edition of the Firestorm Cup. The 2 months of training proved to be saving for the team as it won Greenwich Glens witht he score of 6-1.

The match started well for Jelle FC players as they were moving the ball in the midfield and on both sides of the field, Peter Fisk and Sergei Putin and they gave the ball to even Sergei Gagarin or Yuri Avchenko to make thier chances. On the 16th minute, Yuri Avchenko was passed by Yuri Makareshi and he started making an individual try by rouletting 2 of the defnders of Greenwich Glens and putting the ball on the right side of the net. Then on the 45th Minute after 2 more goals have been scored and the score being 3-1, a freekick was given in a spot that Andriy Ilysevich could score an easy goal. So he puts the ball at the spot, he shoots t and scores and after 2 more goals in the scond half, the game ended with the score of 6-1.

But also there's another team called Kortu Dunamo and is he second strongest team in Estenia and the team that remained with a draw against to the much higher ranked P.S.K.S Senadwipa, so they started playing carefully and watched their steps they did 2-3 chances in the 1st half with only 1 ending to the net of the opposing team, then after we taken advantage we thrived under pressure as we were playing with a stronger team and had to keep the score, but also to entertain the 25.000 Estenian fans that came from all over the world to see them. That concluded on Andriy Dursimov almost scoring an own goal in attempt to throw the ball outsde the box sending it to the right side ending with the scoring corner on 78th Minute.

Omarians in a Comedy and Tragedy situation
Well....we can say that the bees are also in an unstable situation, although they had lost, they are still in the 3rd place though, and with a series of winning they can continue to the round of 32, and hopefully would win the cup at last, however, we are still daydreaming though, its still the second match, the team had lost 1-0 to Greenwich Glens of Havenburgh, the goal, scored in the 63rd minute, came from Graham Basklepy, although Toddinlofer had most of the attacks, due to having experience in the cup, but that doesn't change anything since the IFSC plays in the same football field all other cups play in, however, morale also plays a part in it, and the Toddinlofer fans today aren't as they always used to be, for people who have missed the IFSC V, they should search it on the internet, and see how Toddinlofer and its fans used to role, BACK INTO FOOTBALL.So as a regular game starts, a couple of attacks here and there, and until that moment....that sad moment...Abdulwahed misses an opportunity that can't be missed, sadly and ironically he did, considering that he was the league's scorer last year...that was in 38th minute, the first half finished and we are off for a new start, the statistics showed that Toddinlofer had 6 shots, while the opposing team had three, but that happens A LOT in football, the second half starts and the opposing team has one shot on the goal until the 63rd minute, that awful "accidental" slip by Karbi earned the Greenwich Glens, a penalty, scored by Graham Baskelpy, two more other yellow cards are handed over for defender Hywan and middlefielder Pino, the match was then sealed in favor of Greenwich Glens.

Image

On other hand, a happy scene is celebrated by Beden FC and their fans, a MASSIVE 1-6 win, making it the LARGEST win by Beden FC or generally ANY OMARIAN TEAM in this tournament! The team, which seems to have read (at least that is how we view it) and how we pointed out the mistakes they had done in their previous draw in a different article, which they did read!Khalid Mohammed posted a photo on his social media account, which gained over a 100,000 likes in under 1 hour, the account under much heat was attacked by hackers affiliated with Joosh FC, of Joosh in Southern Omarios, however this article is about football right?Beden FC, had almost completely destroyed Al Hilal FC of North Arabia, although both teams are Arab, there no feelings of emotion in the battlefield right? So the match starts, and after 7 minutes, its Khalid Mohammed, who scores the first goal in the game, and its not until 18 more minutes, in the 25th minute, where Rengong scores the other goal, which had started his road for a hatrick, the first half almost comes to its finish, its the 43rd minute, BOOM Rengong strikes again!, the first half finished and its 3-0.The second half starts, and the game is going, its 6 minutes, and RENGONG AGAIN 51st minute, and its 4-0, with a coordinated attack in the 56th minute, Al Hilal sprayed a little bit of medicine on its wound, until more salt is sprayed on the wound, 68th minute, Khalid Mohammed again, the two are unstoppable by then, its the 68th minute and its 5-1, with no hope for Al Hilal FC, which seem to have lost interest in the game, the match goes on until the 86th minute and its a header by middlefielder Thamir Al Barmi, and its 6-1, the match then goes on, but we know who is the winner already.

Heigellion falls short, but Hollow Cliffs are rolling.

Quite a mixed day for the Borderlandians as a close loss lodges Heigellion at a precarious position but a very large victory puts Hollow Cliffs at the top of their group.

So...the first game we are covering...yeah...

Heigellion Vs. Riverside City (16) 3-4

Defense was non-existent this game, both sides were TERRIBLE defensively letting seemingly mediocre build-ups lead to chances that should not have been if they just played defense, the goalkeepers were not too bad, but there were so many chances that at least one was bound to make it in, let alone SEVEN.
It was not a day for defense, on the other hand if you liked an offensive circus then this game was for you but really, if Heigellion can play some defense they could have had a great shot at winning this match but alas, it was not meant to be. Jack Gorammis did get a nifty hat-trick though.

Scorecard:
Heigellion:
Jack Gorammis '10 '24 '47

Riverside City:
Striker 12'
Striker 24'
Striker 45'
Striker 54'

Hollow Cliffs Vs. CL Royals 4-0
What a depressingly one-sided game, Hollow Cliffs dominated possession of the ball and just ran away with the game, it seems after the club's upset of Jonho FC they started to really click and look like a dominant team and even a substitute got a goal. It really seems like Hollow Cliffs is turning out to be the team to beat in Group 9 plus, they are in first place with 6 points, 2 ahead of the Tambad Strikers. It was also fairly evident that Hollow Cliffs had a plan today, neutralizing any offensive chance that the Royals could throw at them.

Scorecard:
Hollow Cliffs:
Giranhim Basley '5
Marius Byzar '25
Giranhim Basley '58
Izael Ramu '80

SMASHING START FOR THE DARVALIANS AT THE IFSC
Grimsby Town smashes Peeto Gordost 3-0 as Bayern Hautbregen victimize Riuwiee United FC 7-2

Ecstatic Bayern Hautbregen fans after Gavin Reed's second goal against Riuwiee United FC

Battle Hill Stadium, Fort Wolcalt/Beachport Bowl, Hemula, OLASTOR - 7-2 and 3-0. These were the unbelievable scores Bayern Hautbregen and Grimsby Town FC achieved respectively. And yes, just in case you're wondering (which you probably are), both teams are the winners of these matches. Bayern Hautbregen wiped Riuwee United FC off the face of the planet, winning their international debut match by an easy 7-2. Grimsby Town destroyed Peeto Gordost 3-0. Detailed reports on both of these miraculous matches can be found below.

Beachport Bowl, Hemula, OLASTOR - Yes. I assure you. You read it right. In some random miracle, Bayern Hautbregen, minnows of the Darvalian First League, somehow managed to pull off a 7-2 win against Riuwiee United FC, a team originating from the Antarctican nation of Abanhfleft, when analysists previewed a 1-1 draw. The match started with relatively low expectations on the part of the Darvalian club. However, the Darvalians were proven wrong, to their delight. The game started, and surprisingly, from the very first minute, everybody could agree that Bayern Hautbregen were dominating the match, although Riuwiee United managed to squeeze through some dangerous counter-attacks that would have proven to be costly, if it wasn't for Bayern's defense and goalkeeper Paul Allen.

The first action came in the third minute, with Bayern winger Lewis Walker putting a delicious chip through to Jorge Simpson, who fired a shot on-target, but Riuwiee's goalkeeper, Karim Ansarifarid, somehow managed to catch the bottom-left corner-bound ball. It would be the only consolation for him after the match, as he was about to experience a pretty hefty nightmare in just a moment. After the match, a shattered Ansarifarid's only comment was: "A wise man once said - There's only one way through hell - and that's through it."

The next action came seven minutes later, in the 9th minute. It was the beginning of the end for Riuwiee United. After a long, off-target shot from Riuwiee midfielder Ralph Dominguez, granting Bayern goalkeeper Paul Allen a goal kick, something paranormally miraculous happened. The ball, at Allen's feet, somehow made its way from its starting point, all the way to the other end of the pitch, past Riuwiee goalkeeper Karim Ansarifarid, and in the net of the goal. In a whopping 4.27 seconds. Allen sent the ball a few meters past the half-line, with midfielder Clement Delacour receiving it nicely. Delacour then turned around, and performed a perfect chip, past Riuwiee defenders Ternante Upsilo, Luke Edwards, and Yevgeniy Letexotu, and to Gavin Reed, star striker of Bayern Hautbregen, who chested the ball, and magnificently volleyed it in the goal, past an unsuspecting Ansarifarid, who, not thinking something like this would happen, was standing 7 meters out from the goal. 1-0 in the 9th minute.

And it just kept on getting better and better for Bayern. In the 17th minute, it was Jorge Simpson who put the ball home this time. Max Colton, a Bayern Hautbregen central-midfielder, who put a perfect, low pass all the way from the half-line to Jorge Simpson, who dribbled past Riuwiee defenders Luke Edwards and Yevgeniy Letexotu, and did not fail to score. He slotted the ball nicely into the bottom-right corner. 2-0 in the 17th minute.

And, with unprecedented motivation, Bayern weren't anywhere near stopping. Bayern's wingers, Lewis Walker and Michael Davids, made fabulous runs up both ends of the pitch, but Riuwiee's defense managed to hold for a full ten minutes. Until the 27th minute. A magnificent run from Michael Davids up the right wing allowed him to put an excellent cross into the danger zone. Bayern striker Jorge Simpson was on the receiving end of the cross, but his shot was denied by the crossbar. Fortunately however, Bayern's other striker, Gavin Reed, was there to take the rebound and score Bayern's third goal. 3-0 in the 27th minute.

By Gavin Reed's second goal, the Bayern Hautbregen fans were ecstatic, cheering overbearingly loudly from the stands. For a minnow of the that finished in the bottom half of the last edition of the Darvalian First League table, Bayern were in an exceptional ambiance, and they weren't about to upset their fans. A mere nine minutes after Bayern's third goal, goal number four came. After Clement Delacour, a Bayern midfielder, was tackled 3 meters outside the box by Riuwiee defender Luke Edwards, Bayern were awarded a dangerous free kick. Max Colton would be the one to take it. And he didn't fail to score. The 24 year old graciously chipped the ball into the top-right corner of the goal. 4-0 in the 36th minute.

Bayern's goalscoring spree wasn't over. Their next goal came seven minutes after the break, in the 52nd minute. With Lewis Walker going off for Ian Ozman in the 51st minute, Bayern's head coach, Gilbert Johnson, had made the perfect decision. Ozman would be the key to the next goal. As soon as Ozman got his first touch on the gal, he made an unbelievable run - from the half-line, all the way to the Riuwiee box, past Riuwiee players Shinji Ikeda, Tony Sucipto, Ternante Upsilo, and Luke Edwards, only to share the pride by simply passing the ball to Jorge Simpson, who easily scored Bayern's fifth goal of the match. 5-0 in the 52nd minute.

By now, Bayern's offense had cooled down, with attackers Gavin Reed and Jorge Simpson calming down a bit, not pushing themselves to try and score every time an opportunity came their way. And they didn't. It was Max Colton who scored his second, and Bayern's sixth goal of the game. It was Bayern left-back Jack Rockton, who, along with the rest of the defense, really had nothing to do, who set up this goal. Rockton sent the ball flying from the Bayern box, all the way to the Riuwiee box. The ball, with the help of a timely gust of wind, went so far in the direction that the ball actually ricocheted off the top post of Riuwiee's goal. However, Max Colton, taking advantage of the unawareness of Riuwiee's defense, headed the ball nicely into the goal. 6-0 in the 75th minute.

Now, everyone thought that that was it. 6-0 would be the final score. They were proven wrong a mere three minutes after Max Colton's second goal of the game. Clement Delacour, a Bayern midfielder, took a long shot from outside the box, but it was denied by the post. However, Gavin Reed took the rebound. Now, Reed took a shot, but it was just off-target, but the ball, on its way to the goal, touched Riuwiee defender Sokratis Tzorvas, altering the trajectory of the ball from half a meter to the right of the goal, to the bottom-left corner of the goal. 7-0 in the 78th minute, with Gavin Reed getting a hat-trick.

Then, an awkward surprise came. Hamengkubuwono, a Riuwiee striker, somehow scored two goals in the space of twelve minutes. The first goal came two minutes after Gavin Reed's third goal, in the 80th minute. Hans Gruber, the Riuwiee United left winger, chipped the ball into the box from about 10 meters out of the box. Hamengkubuwono, in an incredible shrewd of luck, was somehow able to score a header - from a meter out of the box, making the score 7-1 in the 80th minute. Hamengkubuwono second goal came eight minutes later, in the 88th minute. The Riuwiee striker produced a wonderful dribble, past Bayern defenders Amos Shelton and Evan Brown, and Bayern goalkeeper Paul Allen. Hamengkubuwono simply scored in the open goal, finishing the last action of the game. 7-2 was the final score. Bayern will be facing Guard FC of Darmen next, and are expected to lose 1-0 to the Darmeni club.

PEETO GORDOST 0 - 3 GRIMSBY TOWN FC

McKleigh, '37
Camargo, '58
Meadows, '89
Battle Hill Stadium, Fort Wolcalt, OLASTOR - Successful, but not as successful as their counterparts Bayern Hautbregen, Grimsby Town FC, currently the best club in Darvale, made their debut in the Ineternational FireStorm Cup with a 3-0 win over Peeto Gordost, a Polkopian club. The match started, with GTFC's Lincoln McKleigh - Stuart Meadows - Connor Lenning attacking trio proving to be extremely effective against Peeto Gordost's defense.

However, Peeto Gordost's defense, which comprised of Samuel Clayton, Lance Smith, Mikhail Vebitsibvy, and Vladimir Sushkin, managed to fend off numerous attacks from GTFC's offense. However, the ice was finally broken in the 37th minute. It was Lincoln McKleigh, hero of the McKleighvian national team (yes, his last name is also the name of his native land), who scored. Paolo Jorge Camargo, defensive midfielder and Zenician national team substitute, chipped the ball from the half-line, all the way to the 22 year old GTFC right winger, Conor Lenning.

Lenning then made an attempt on goal, heading the ball on-target, but Peeto Gordost goalkeeper Vladimir Polov managed to just tip the ball, making the ball hit the top post. Polov thought that the ball had gone out after he touched it, but little did he know that the ball had bounced off the post and had gone back into the pitch. When Polov had turned around and finally realized that the ball was still in game, Lincoln McKleigh had already kicked the ball into the goal. 1-0 in the 37th minute.

After McKleigh's goal in the 37th minute, Peeto Gordost had quite a few opportunities to score, but couldn't capitalize on any of them. One of these opportunities came in the 40th minute. Nakano Mawashi, Peeto Gordost's right winger, was awarded a free kick. It was only the effort of the GTFC goalkeeper, Mike Ashwood, that managed to repel the magnificently on-target shot. However, after Ashwood somehow caught the ball in his hands, Milas Demetriou, Peeto Gordost's striker, accidentally elbowed Ashwood in the face after attempting to head the ball into the goal.

Ashwood was not capable of continuing to play, and was escorted off the pitch, and replaced by an eccentric Ruslan Korpelainen, a 24 year old originating from The Fallenmark Islands making his debut for Grimsby. And, fortunately, Korpelainen managed to hold. He blocked several shots from the Peeto Gordost offense, to the relief of the rest of the team. One of these shots came in the 57th minute. It was Semyon Benisov midfielder of Peeto Gordost who fired a long on-target shot from outside the box. Luckily, the ball flew straight into the arms of Korpelainen, who then took advantage of the situation. He sent the ball flying to a barely onside, yet unmarked Lincoln McKleigh.

McKleigh, with nobody but the Peeto Gordost goalkeeper Vladimir Polov blocking his way to the goal, surged up the pitch, and fired the ball with unbelievable force. However, somehow, Polov miraculously got a small touch on the ball, causing the ball to bang off the post. The ball flew all the way to 10 meters behind the box, where, fortunately Zenician Paolo Jorge Camargo, a GTFC defensive midfielder, was there to semi-volley the ball back into the net. 2-0 in the 58th minute.

Not much happened after the second goal, until the 89th minute, when the third and final goal of the match came. Logan Geis, GTFC's attacking central midfielder, excellently passed the ball to McKleigh. However, McKleigh was surrounded by defenders. The McKleighvian national then produced a mixture of effort, quick reflexes, and creativity.

McKleigh faked a shot, dribbled past one of the four defenders surrounding him, faked a dribble past a second defender, only to sneakily pass the ball to GTFC left winger Stuart Meadows, without looking at the latter. Meadows did not fail to capitalize on this opportunity, and fired the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net. 3-0 in the 89th minute. That was the last action of the match. GTFC will be facing Club Pollare of Wolfbenz next, and are expecting a win.

Both Clubs Earn Points Today!

With an exciting second day of the International Firestorm Cup VIII, both Polkopian teams were able to earn some much needed points today, with FC Valinkova earning one point after a 1-1 draw to Zvolen FC, and Peeto Gordost' achieving their first win of the tournament after a humiliating defeat against Grimsby Town FC on the first day, coming back with a strong 4-0 victory over Blanchester City, allowing them a positive goal differential.

FC Valinkova

Image
[floatleft]Again, manager Yuri Yamadev made his club, FC Valinkova, start out with the standard 4-5-1 formation, however it was clear that this game would not be as one-sided as the last game. Unfortunately for Yamadev and his team, it took an early goal from the home side to really let that sink in. It seemed as if the Polkopian club was playing catch up the whole game, until the 66th minute, where midfielder Roman Maldov was able to equalize the score after a beautiful finish allowed the ball to slide past the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net. From there, Valinkova was able to find their groove, however, despite having seven more shots on target from then on, they were unable to pull ahead, leaving the score as a 1-1 draw.

Unfortunately, we are unable to load the match highlights today. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Peeto Gordost'

With the last game's memory fresh on their minds, Peeto Gordost' set out to take out their anger and frustration on Blanchester City and show no mercy along the way. Fortunately for the Polkopian side, they were able to do just that. After patient passing between members of the defense, defender Mikhail Vebitsibvy was able to find a beautiful through ball to Greek international, Milas Demetriou, who launched on a 1-on-1 with the keeper. A cheeky chip shot allowed the ball to sail over the keeper and drop into the back of the net with ease, putting Peeto Gordost' up 1-0. Another goal from Demetriou, and an additional goal from midfielder Alexander Milov put Peeto Gordost' up 3-0. They weren't finished yet, though. Peeto's offense pressed on and on until a header from veteran Arthur Yall slipped just out of the keeper's reach and into the back of the net. With that, the game was ended and the Polkopian club can held their heads high after their redemption in the tournament.

OOC: I'm getting out of town for 4 days, so RP will be nonexist or rare around this time.

All Estenian Teams win this time

Yeah it's a fact, Estenian teams are dominating or are in a good position at their groups. Let's see our champiopns, Jelle FC, our strongest team with last year's campaign ending to the Quarter finals, thatwas a really exciting campaign as they needed to do that. They had to make a good campaign so they could take the money to build the squad and the athletic centers as these money are useful when they come to us. As usual, this time win 1-0 the team of CD Guadalajara in an one-sided match really.

The match started with possesion being to Jelle FC players feet and they stated chnaging sides and dominating the field, they tried to stay calm at this game because that team is a bad bussiness for them, they needed the win so they can ensure that competition will be beaten. Jelle FC is the 2nd biggest club on their group after Omarian Club, Toddinlofer which apparently lost to the team that we crushed, Greenwich Glens. But let's get to the point now. After the Estenian midfielders were doing what they wanted in the field, keeping the ball and don't do long passes, they started an attack, moving the ball forwards, Sergei Putin gave it to, Yuri Avchenko who did an excellent shot to make the ball get stuck to the right corner. it was the last phase on the 90th minute, which ensured that Jelle FC will win the match.

The other Estenian team, called Kortu Dunamo, won with 0-1, the team of Al-Tajra United and took their second place of the group, the scorer was no other than Filipp Dragunov, the usual scorer aftyer returning from 3 years in St.Lucoa, he said that he will try to make his team shine and that's what he does. The goal was made by 34m free kick and it concluded on the ball ending on the right corner.

I ask everybody to read my post after this, which will contain information about which stadiums everybody's playing in for the 4th and 5th matchdays. Also, already eliminated and qualified will be highlighted after MD4, and the tiebreakers will be applied more correctly at that point as well (NSFS does not have H2H GD, which may just come in useful).

This post has information about stadium allocation for MDs 4 and 5. The codes (1 vs 6, 2 vs 4, etc.) refer to the same thing as in the OP. The stadiums will match-up to their corresponding match (e.g. National Stadium as second in the list means 2 vs 4 of that group will play there).

MD4 (3 vs 1, 2 vs 4, 6 vs 5)
Group 1: Blake Valley Stadium, Capitol Stadium, Battle Hill Stadium
Group 2: Niurthenre House, Beachport Bowl, Great Park Arena

Heigellion losses second in a row, Hollow Cliffs continues undefeated streak.

Another mixed day for the Borderlands, Heigellion falls just short once again while Hollow Cliffs continues to roll in group 9 with another win and is well on it's way to claim qualification for the knockout stages.

Heigellion Vs. Peeto Gordost 0-1
Quite the defensive game this was, far from the first two matches Heigellion have played. The Defense was actually holding until late in the second half when Nakano Mawashi put in a wonderful goal which gave Peeto Gordost the lead and eventually the win. Not bad showing by any standards though and a massive improvement on what the first two matches were. Unfortunately however this loss puts Heigellion at a very awkward position as of now. They need to beat both Club Pollare and Grimbsy Town FC in order to have a shot at the knockout stages OR tie records with Riverside City and hope that the Goal Difference is in their favor. Either way, it is going to be an uphill battle for Heigellion and not an easy one at that.

Scorecard:
Peeto Gordost:
Nakano Mawashi '82

Hollow Cliffs Vs. Club Atlas 2-0
This game proves one thing to many people: The first win was not a fluke, as Hollow Cliffs win this match in a very good show of possession and chance creation, not to say that Club Atlas were playing like schoolyard boys, they were quite ready for the challenge but they conceded two goals and that was all that the Hollow Cliffs needed. Marius Byzar was quite on form today and so was Giranhim Basley plus, the defense was top today. This also must be said about the Hollow Cliffs' defense: they have only conceded ONE goal so far, this is matched by 4 teams and only beaten by the stellar defense of Empillot United FC who have not conceded a goal yet. Also, Hollow Cliffs' chance of qualifying to the knockout stages are as easy as beating the next team on their schedule: The Tamabad Strikers, a ranked team and one who is competing for the group win alongside Hollow Cliffs, but if they do not win this game then they would have to win against Mallox FC in order to have an unquestionable qualification. I may eat my words later but this group is Hollow Cliffs' to lose.

Scorecard:
Hollow Cliffs:
Marius Byzar '51
Giranhim Basley '78

FC Kolbenz Pulls out Two Wins in Last Two Matches, Club Pollare Still Struggling

FC Kolbenz 2-0 Wockachow FC

FC Kolbenz Scorers:
Jeppe Siegel 34', 87'

Wockachow FC Scorers:
N/A

FC Kolbenz 1-0 SuperFruit Co. FC

FC Kolbenz Scorers:
Osvald Ljungstrand 38'

SuperFruit Co. FC

For FC Kolbenz's last two games, they didn't just sit down and give up after their defeat to Marlowes City FC. Soren Biermann cleaned up his act, and had two clean sheets in the last two games. Some of his saves were quite phenomenal, if I say so myself. The team looked rejuvenated in the game against Wockachow, with Jeppe Siegel scoring two goals to be voted as the man of the match.

Against Superfruit Co. FC, the game was more defensive and the ball was in the middle of the field most of the time. In the 38th minute though, Osvald Ljungstrand headed in a goal crossed in during a corner kick. Afterwards, FC Kolbenz played a very good defensive game afterwards, catching the SuperFruit players offside at crucial times, and Soren Biermann making great saves throughout the game.

Grimsby Town FC 6-0 Club Pollare
Grimsby Town FC Scorers:
Lincoln McKleigh 7', 16', 58', 81'
Connor Lenning 49'
Logan Geis 90+1'

Club Pollare Scorers:
N/A

Club Pollare 0-0 Blanchester City
Club Pollare Scorers:
N/A

Blanchester City Scorers:
N/A

As opposed to FC Kolbenz, Club Pollare didn't get up from their first loss, and got pounded 6-0 to highly ranked Grimsby Town FC, where striker Lincoln McKleigh scored four goals in that game. By halftime, Pollare didn't seem to be in the game anymore, and made crippling errors in both halves.

Their last game against Blanchester City was quite dull, and both teams didn't have very many chances or enough drive to win their game.

Currently, FC Kolbenz sit at 3rd in Group 7, while Club Pollare is rock bottom in Group 4. Both teams still can qualify for the round of 32, but Club Pollare will have to make some changes if they want to progress.

ARSENAL FALLS; UNITED BOUNCES BACK
By Adelmio Bandini

OLASTOR - In yet another stunning (yet predictable, actually) turn of events, Arsenal de Releinthi have lost, while Riuwiee United finally showed us why they are the twenty-seven-time Premier League champions by winning in a massive blowout. This time, it was Godzilla who couldn't deliver for the men in red; while Oren Ya'akovi, whose doubters have increased exponentially following the Blue Tribesmen's blowout against Bayern Hautbregen, finally showed us why he had been chosen by Georges Leblanc to lead United through the International FireStorm Cup.

Things couldn't have been any better for the Gunners when they squared off against Peruvian Highlands's Ixqa FC. Godzilla had just proven himself to his team by linking up very nicely with Arsenal's other main striker, Gal Tza'eer, and securing a brace each for themselves, and a win over Britonisea's Brit-Kicks FC. Well, they were certainly in very high spirits, until Zhang Sulong scored a whopper of a shot across goal that caught poor Brad Jones completely off-guard. Zhang's shot stunned every Gunner, young and old, into silence. Tza'eer's jaw was so wide open you could have stuffed Elliot Edison's head into it. And it was all downhill from there, with regards to Arsenal. Sure, they did put up a nice defensive effort to keep Ixqa from scoring, but guess what? In the 45th minute, wait for it, wait for it... Ixqa scored again. This time it's thanks to a free kick stupidly conceded by Oleg Mostovoi, and Bert Rontney scored from 20 yards.

I have to give credit to Godzilla, though, as he really tried to set up his teammates on the very few instances that Arsenal were in possession of the ball. But Ixqa's defense was just impenetrable today, and right in the 90th minute, guess what? Ixqa scored again. Corner kick from Zhang Sulong got headed into the back of the net by Keylor Casillas, and that was game over for the Arsenal. 3-nil loss to Ixqa. Godzilla looked like he even wanted to go on a rampage around the field, but luckily Tza'eer and Liam Ferdinand managed to restrain and talk some sense into the Brazilian.

The fans of the Blue Tribesmen are certainly much happier than the nation's entire population of Gooners because, because their team had finally won a game in the FireStorm Cup. Oren Ya'akovi, the Israeli signing whom many footie analysts thought would be a dud for United, finally proved why he was one of the world's best young prospects in the beautiful game by scoring two goals for the Tribesmen, and assisting in two more goals.

To be honest, though, the game didn't really start very well for United once again. 16 minutes into the first half, Ternante Upsilo conceded a free kick in a dangerous spot. The Khartoum striker lined up for a shot, and then faked the kick, and the left winger actually took the free kick. The ball flew across goal and was on its way out, until it struck an unsuspecting Tony Sucipto in the face and curled towards goal. Karim Ansarifarid, still fresh from the emotionally draining loss against Bayern Hautbregen, couldn't even try to extend a limb to block the ball's path, and Real Khartoum was up 1-nil, thanks to a Tony Sucipto own goal.

Finally, United managed to mount an actual counterattack in to 30th minute. Following a goal kick from Ansarifarid, Shinji Ikeda caught the ball, made the dribble, and then chopped past the defenders once he saw Oren Ya'akovi making the run into the box. Ya'akovi chested the ball and then made a cheeky chip into the back of the net to make it 1-all.

And now for the bad news. A Real Khartoum defender tackled Hamengkubuwono so hard that it got the offending defender a red card. Also, Hameng K began clutching his right knee, and everyone could tell right then and right there that this was a real injury, and not just an attempt to draw a foul on the opponent, because the red card came out before Hameng K grabbed his knee. Thankfully, the ref blew the whistle, which allowed the poor Indonesian to be carted off to the medic without consequence for the team at half time.

Liam Short came in at the start of the second half for the injured Hameng K. This appeared to have no effect on the team, however, as two minutes into the second half, Oren Ya'akovi found Hans Gruber in the penalty box, and he passed to the German, and Gruber slotted it into the top right corner of the goal. The Real Khartoum players and staff called for an offside, but slowmo footage later revealed that Hans Gruber was just onside. Just. A nanometer more and his goal wouldn't have counted.

And apparently United was not yet finished in its quest for revenge. Corner kick for United in the 70th minute had Shinji Ikeda whip the ball into the box, and into the waiting head of United captain Luke Edwards, who found the back of the net with an amazing header that had no hope of being deflected away by the Khartoum keeper. Finally, in the 76th minute, Oren Ya'akovi found Liam Short waiting for a kick, and even though he was bumrushed by two Khartoum defenders, Short lobbed the ball in for an easy and beautiful goal. Riuwiee United wins 5-1 against Real Khartoum.

Next match for Arsenal de Releinthi will be against Blaketon Athletic, while Riuwiee United's nextt match will be against Oranjestad FC. Arsenal manager Godric Wexler announced that he will be switching to the 5-4-1 formation for the game against Blaketon, while Liam Short will be replacing the injured Hamengkubuwono for the game against Oranjestad.

Peeto Gordost' Wins Last Two Matches, F.C Valinkova Ties

Another day brings another set of results and scores, with Peeto Gordost' winning against Heigellion, a club from Western Borderlands, 1-0, while Polkopia tie their second game in a row, this time, against OAS Royal FC in a 2-2 draw. Both games were very close and could have gone either way, but fortunately for the Polkopian clubs, they were both able to rack up some points.

FC Valinkova

Valinkova used their standard 4-5-1 formation yet again, with striker Immanuil Serevo leading the attack. From the very beginning he seemed hungry for goals, taking the ball up to the opponent's net from the start of the kickoff before shooting wide.

This was a sign that he was determined to score, no matter what. That moment didn't come until the 33rd minute, where a ball launched from American international, Ryan Talburt, seemed just out of reach for Serevo. That wasn't the case however, as the striker gave an impressive sprint toward the ball, kicking it underneath the rushing keeper, and into the back of the net. The next two goals were scored by the opposition right after the other, finishing the half at 2-1 in OAS Royal FC's favor. The second half did not have as many chances as the first, as Everett Seymour and Jon-Perohlin Nodtveit of OAS Royal seemed to stop everything coming their way. Finally, a breakthrough from Immanuil Serevo led to another goal for Valinkova. With that, the game was ended in a 2-2 draw.

Peeto Gordost'

After a much needed win against Blanchester City, Peeto Gordost' entered the pitch with high expectations. They were to use their traditional 4-3-3 formation and search for a counter attack at the best opportunity. For the most part, however, the Polkopian club pushed on the offensive quite frequently, but the opposition's defense was simply too good to be beaten. It wasn't until Japanese star, Nakano Mawashi, gave Polkopia the lead late in the second half with a rocket of a shot, taken well within the penalty box. Hellington was thus unable to equalize the score, and Peeto Gordost' walked away with another win, rising up to second place in their group, just ahead of Riverside City. Tomorrow, Peeto Gordost' faces Riverside City, which very well may determine the outcome of the group. The Polkopian club is going to have to fight hard if they want this win, and manager Artom Law seems keen on allowing the club to progress through to the Round of 32.
