CUP OF HARMONY 61
VALLADARES & YTTRIBIA

Bid thread

With qualification for the World Cup ending, some nations will be heading to either Apox and The Holy Empire for the finals, but some will be left on the road, and it is time for the nations of Valladares and Yttribia to welcome those ones that failed to make it despite doing their best to qualify. Rather than a "Cup of Losers" or a "consolation prize", this is a second chance to aim at glory in an equally prestigious and respectable competition. That said, welcome one and all to the 61st Cup of Harmony!

This thread will be the place for you to post your rosters and roleplays, and will also be the place where you will find the scores. Please only post here if you have received an invitation from either of the hosts.

IC Information
Introduction
Welcome to Yttribia! A melting pot of people from across the entire multiverse, one of the former regional leaders in human rights, and a nation crazy for the beautiful game, Yttribia is opening its arms to football lovers everywhere for them to come and enjoy the Cup of Harmony inside their place. Home to 48,000,000 citizens spread across five regions (Fresnosa, Penedès, Obersinn, Urellia, and Vauchel) and one capital district (Fontvieille Capital District), Yttribia is a polyglot society, with almost all citizens able to speak the language native to their region, and English, referred to in the nation as the Standard Language. This handy guide made on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Sport, and the Yttribian Football Federation, will help fans, journalists, and the teams themselves get around Yttribia as quickly as possible.

A Brief History on Yttribia
Yttribia was once broken up into six different nations, all with their own forms of government, varying from absolute monarchies to direct democracies, and everything in between. However, revolutionary leader Ximena Martinez championed the process for a united Yttribia, leading to the Republic of Yttribia unifying and coming into existence on the 18th of August, 1914. Tragically, while Ximena was going to allow the heritage of the nations to stay alive in the new nation, she was assassinated while serving as the interim head of state. Throughout these three-hundred years of a united Yttribia, civil war has broken out. Fought between those wanting to keep Yttribia united, and those wanting to restore the six nations, the civil war eventually led to a victory for the Unitarians, oppressing the history and heritage of the six former nations along the way. With this development, many of the citizens practicing their native languages in private, leading to a call for greater autonomy by most of Yttribia caused President Andrew Grimaldi to be disposed of, and eventually led up to the creation of the First Yttribian Confederation. However, this state of peace was short-lived, when the Corivdae-backed Corvax Party took over, bringing a reign of fascism to all Yttribians, until the assassination of Porter Augustin by Guavalite, the Yttribian term for citizens of San José Guayabal, forces. Now, with the Second Yttribian Confederation established, and nationwide elections about to take place, a new age for Yttribia has dawned upon us.

Travelling
While the Yttribian Ministry of Immigration usually requires most tourists to have a visa (usually handed on arrival) to enter the country, fans will only need to show their ticket for a Cup of Harmony match in order to enter the nation. Travelling to Yttribia is usually done by airplane, with Fontvieille-Hasse International Airport and Telino-Ximena International Airport the two main gateways for all foreigners travelling to the nation. Getting around is easy, thanks to the National Railway, covering most of the nation; underground transit has been placed in most of the cities, with some of the others containing bus rapid-transit lines going throughout those lacking an underground metro. National roadways for automobiles link the nation as well, allowing automobiles to easily move from city to city.

Languages
As previously mentioned, Yttribia is a polyglot nation, with many of our citizens speaking at least two languages. You’ll be able to hear German walking through Obersinn, Catalan spoken in the streets of Penedès, Spanish being spoken in the heat of the Fresnosa sun, French being romanticized frequently in Vauchel, and Italian in Urellia. Not to worry, a good 95% of the population speak the Standard Language as well as with another language, with the other five percent trained in two languages other than the Standard Language. One will be able to hear a variety of languages not recognized by the Government in Fontvieille, ranging from Portuguese, to the small but steady language native to the city known as Vieillese.

Culture and Economy
Yttribia uses the Perioden, one of the region’s strongest currencies with a high buying power of NS$1.73 to 1 Perioden (P$). The Perioden is divided into 100 Symbolli. While most banks recommend that you exchange your local currency into Periodens, nonetheless most shops will accept your local form of currency.

Culturally, the heritage of most Yttribians allows for a unique, fusion of world cultures into one Yttribian culture. The Cup of Harmony will be taking place right during the Citrus Festival, in which for three weeks, Yttribia celebrates the peak of citrus season, as most of Yttribia is warming up after the cold winter. Most pubs in the nation are known for their botanas, small appetizers that are paid for by the toothpick, ranging from small sausages, to small olives and cheese. Yttribian Rock is quite arguably the most important music the nation has ever exported to the world, bringing the rock scene to massive stardom in WorldVision 32, achieving 11th place in the competition. These are just the nationwide standards that most Yttribians agree on being quite important, however at a regional level things get a bit different. Ranging from greetings, which can be the customary three kisses on the cheek in the city of Fontvieille to a firm handshake in Obersinn, to tipping (huge yes-yes in Telino, an extreme no-no in Gremalsco), those traveling here are highly recommended to follow the unofficial motto of Yttribia: “Don’t do anything stupid.”

The Venues
Group E - Greater Fontvieille
Le Nid Violet - Fontvieille, FCD - capacity of 81,800
One of the two national stadiums of Yttribia, this state of the art venue has hosted the forty-ninth final of the forty-ninth UICA Series B Champions Cup, the semi-finals and finals of the fourth UICA Youth Cup, the final series of the Campionato Esportiva di Pallacanestro, and the final of the Beltane Cup II. With the Grand Central Station located under Le Nid Violet, countless shopping malls and restaurants under and around the stadium, Violet is considered one of the hottest hangouts for Fontvieille youth. Inside the stadium, sixteen press boxes, thirty-two VIP suites, and seventy-nine thousand seats all equipped with Wi-Fi connectability give the venue one of the best names in all of sport. A retractable roof is able to allow for fans to see the starry sky as the stars shine down on the stars of the pitch.
Matches being hosted:
Yttribia v. Vaugania
Yttribia v. Nova Anglicana
Star United States v. Yttribia
Also Hosting: Third-Place Play-Off

Mosson Cliff - Gaillard, Vauchel - capacity of 57,349
Just a short forty-five minute train ride from Fontvieille, you arrive in Gaillard, where the legendary Mosson Cliff is located. Temporarily expanded for the Cup of Harmony, this state of the art stadium is one of the premier pitches in the entire Yttribian Premiership, when it comes to the atmosphere. The oldest stadium in the Vauchel region, it is home to recently relegated club AC Gaillard. Despite the fact that the nation played host to the Series B Champion's Cup two seasons earlier, the stadium is one of the most revered in the entire nation of Yttribia, as it considered hollowed ground to most of the nation. Located in the heart of downtown Gaillard, the stadium is known for its famous food stands that surround the stadium on game day, and the courteous fans of AC Gaillard. It is served by the Gaillard BRT, and is a five minute walk from the National Railway station located in Gaillard, specifically apart of the Fontvieille-Zevella line. The stadium has two screens in which the game is displayed, and various accommodations to make the fan's experience much more enjoyable.
Matches being hosted:
Nova Anglicana v. Star United States
Vaugania v. Star United States
Nova Anglicana v. Vaugania
Also Hosting - Round of 16 (G1vH2)

Group F - The East
Casa Naranja - Stemanisis, Fresnosa - capacity of 64,236
The host site of the twenty-ninth Cygnus Cup final, Casa Naranja is another premier sporting venue. If you asked every single Yttribian who has gone to a match between two teams in the Yttribian Premiership, and you asked them "Is there a stadium that you would be scared to travel to?", their answer would be this one. Voted as "The Scariest Place in Football" by regional football fans from all across Esportiva, this is considered the most rowdy stadium in all of football. Nevertheless, this only applies to Stemanisis SSC matches, because the fans themselves are quite friendly when it comes to other matters. The stadium is considered one of the most hallowed places to play in, and the atmosphere around the stadium is also one of the best. With twelve press boxes, eight VIP suites, and almost 63,000 seats for the fan, this house will be rocking.
Matches being hosted
Mizuyuki v. HopNation
Mizuyuki v. Schottia
Carialus v. Mizuyuki
Also Hosting - Quarter-Final (R5vR6)

Die Einundsechzigste - Dahlen, Obersinn - capacity of 50,000
Named after this edition of the Cup of Harmony, this was the only venue built for the Cup of Harmony, in order to replace the aging Ostermannstadion. Designed to look like a boat from afar ready to set sail, the venue’s upper deck will be dismantled after the Cup of Harmony, and donate the upper bowl, consisting of around 15,000 seats, to the city of La Halda, in Fresnosa. The venue’s proximity to the sea allows for fans to sample and taste the best Dahlen seafood has to offer. The venue is to become the new home of fan-favorites, die Falscher Bund; they also happen to be noteworthy for being run by, as well as played by young comedians.
Matches being held:
Schottia v. Carialus
HopNation v. Carialus
Schottia v. HopNation
Also Hosting - Round of 16 (H1vG2)

Group G - Penedès
Stadii Ximena - Telino, Penedès - capacity of 77,000
Having previous experience hosting the final match in the ninth edition of the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones, Stadii Ximena is known as one of the premier stadiums in all of Esportiva. Known to locals as Frozen Hell, the high gusts arriving from the oceanside make the Stadii Ximena, named after the famed leader who led Yttribia to glory and prosperity a millennium ago, a total nightmare to visiting teams playing against football club Telino, and less of a nightmare to fellow Telinian club, Ximena SC. However, during the warmer months of the year, Stadii Ximena becomes one of the most beautiful places to play in, after a recent poll by players, fans, and coaches, for the second season in a row. Located just outside of Telino city limits, the stadium has various ways to arrive, via the National Interstate, or the Yttribian Express, the national railroad carrier, or even through the Telino BajoTierras, as the penultimate stop before arriving to the airport. Despite it's location, it makes up for this by having wireless internet connections throughout the entire stadium, various local shacks that can only be found in Telino and inside the stadium, and various pubs inside as well. The stadium has two JumboTrons on home and away sides, and a hospitable experience there.
Matches being held:
Barunia v. Ceni
Ceni v. Estope
Sandwich Territories v. Ceni
Also Hosting - Quarter-Final (R7vR8)

Estadi dels Nuvols - Gremalsco, Penedès - capacity of 105,000
The largest stadium in all of Yttribia, Estadi dels Núvols now serves as the dual home for the national team, as well as being the current home of Yttribian football club, Gremalsco FC. Finally built for Gremalsco FC's growing amount of fans from all across the nation who seem to travel from the entire eastern side of the nation, the stadium is considered one of the safest in all of the nation, with various food stands and restaurants built inside the stadium, so the place is always busy, whether a match is playing or not. Despite the large size of the venue, the stadium is able to be evacuated with a maximum time of only three minutes. The stadium is barely inside the city limits, and is connected to by the National Railway, and various rapid transit lines.
Matches being held:
Sandwich Territories v. Estope
Barunia v. Sandwich Territories
Estope v. Barunia
Also Hosting - Semi-Final (Q3vQ4)

Group H - The South
Crossroads Point - Zevella, Vauchel - capacity of 64,000
Originally built right near the tripoint of the border between the nations of Yttribia, THRILLEDGE, and Byfugland, one of the most iconic venues in all of the nation lies here, at Crossroads. The first ever “international” football match to be conducted on Yttribian soil was on the exact same pitch 600 years ago, when a friendly match between the Vauchelois Kingdom and Holy Urellian State took place, with the match ending in a draw. Now, six-hundred years later, after countless wars, and the building of an actual stadium around the hollowed field is finally recognized as a host venue for an international competition. The crossroads of Yttribian history, and the crossroad of Yttribian football meet here, at the Point.
Matches being held:
Nephara v. Kiryu-shi
Nephara v. Darmen
New Wolfopolis v. Nephara
Also Hosting - Round of 16 (F1vE2)

Calcio Centro Serraville - Serraville, Urellia - capacity of 44,600
The smallest of venues present, Calcio Centro Serraville was designed by BNW Varin, an architectural firm from the Kytler-Peninsulae. Encompassing, as well as satirically embracing, the squareness of Urellian society, this venue is...a box. It just simply is a box in almost all aspects. Located among the Urellans, the mountain range for which the region takes its name from, one gets the feel that they’ve been warped back in time to a much simpler age in football. Nonetheless, it is a modern venue, playing host to second division club Serraville CC.
Matches being held:
Darmen v. New Wolfopolis
Kiryu-shi v. New Wolfopolis
Darmen v. Kiryu-shi
Also Hosting - Round of 16 (E1vF2)

All of these venues can be viewed in a separate photo album here.

Accommodations and Training
With all of this covered, the fifteen teams traveling to Yttribia have been provided with their own hotel, and base camp, all located within the vicinity of their venues. We ask that each team look here for their accommodation, as well as their training grounds.

Accomodations
Yttribia: Casino Peak Inn, Fontvieille

Welcome to Valladares!

Map of Valladares

The United Kingdom of Valladares is proud to welcome some of the top footballing nations in the multiverse for the 61st edition of this respectable and prestigious sporting festival called Cup of Harmony, which is coming to this fair land located in eastern Rushmore for the first time. We hope that the delegations of the 16 teams that were drawn into the Valladar section of the tournament (i.e. groups A through D) will enjoy their stay in this country.

Overview

Valladares is a country located in the region of Rushmore (yes, we had already said it), comprised of two bigger chunks of territory and the City of Junín, which is an enclave on the shores of the Endemien Ocean, which allow the country's "mainland" to have access to the sea through the Fontvielle-Junín railway. The "two bigger chunks of territory" are the Mainland, located in the Terranea continent, where the capital city Metropolis, as well as the country's most important cities and most of the country's population are located; and the Westlands, which is a state located in the Terramidia continent and borders Darmen, Vaugania, and Sicoutimont. Unfortunately for the former two nations, no matches in this competition will be held anywhere there.

The land that is now the Valladar mainland was inhabited for millennia by various Aboriginal peoples, among them the Valladar and Astine peoples, who established their city-states on opposite banks of the Danubio river. Those tribes were decimated by both diseases and colonization processes carried on by Europeans, mainly Spaniard, Portuguese, and French colonizers and missionaries, who also introduced Catholicism into what would became the Valladar mainland. "Puerto Esperanza", nowadays called Westporte, is recognized as the oldest city in the country, having been founded in 1580 by Spaniard explorer Sebastian Cortés. Beginning in the late 16th century, Spanish colonial expeditions explored and settled the eastern region of the Great Inland Sea and the lower course of the Danubio river, establishing the Colony of Río Danubio in 1654, splitting the region into the colonies of Valladares, Iliria, Eterna, and Valle Danubio and starting a 227-year colonial rule that ended with the Second Valladar Uprising and the subsequent War of Independence, and followed up by the Declaration of Independence, signed on October 8, 1881. The Valladar federation was later strengthened by reunification with the Iliria (current Chiquito and Foix states) and Eterna states during the years 1890-1900. Eventually, the reunification of the Valladar states was achieved after the conquest of the city of Tallinberg (now Carloburgo) on March 17, 1909 and the proclamation of the Royal Constitution on July 1, 1910.

Valladares is a federal parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with King Charles V as its head of state. Four languages are official at the federal level as a result of the colonization processes underwent by European powers during the Colony era. Its advanced economy is one of the largest in Rushmore, built on and mainly relying upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed trade networks. Valladares's recent opening to its regional neighbours (mainly on the sports and diplomacy fields) has helped the nation establish cordial relationships with most of them and has had a significant impact on its economy and culture, although the latter can be questioned due to the fact that its natural social heterogeneity, which was forged through history, makes it difficult to establish a "unified" Valladar culture.

Geography

The geography of Valladares is characterized by its two different regions with their unique characteristics: the Mainland and the Westlands. The former is dominated by the Ituyán mountain range which runs from south to north passing through the nation and separating the country from the rest of the Terranea continent. Valladares's highest mountain, Monte Blanco, is located in this mountain range, near Eterna City and rises up to 4,789 meters above sea level. The Danubio river flows through the nation from south to north, first going through the eastern plains and the capital city Metropolis, then turning westwards and passing through the Ituyán range between the cities of Angostura and Araracuara in the east and Maldonado and Columbus to the west, in the region known as the Cañón del Danubio (Danube Canyon) and then the Danubio valley in the Eterna, Antioquia, and Canalave states. The Ituyán mountains contain some of the country's biggest urban centres: Carloburgo, Eterna City, Campo Grande, and Pradera, however, the capital city Metropolis, along with the entire Foix state and its capital Bezieres and the entire Canalave state and the cities of Canalave and Westporte are located in the plains to the east and the Danubio valley to the west. Peaks in the Ituyán mountain range in the southern half of Valladares (Mountbatten state) reach 3,200 meters above sea level (10,498 feet), while in the northern half (Chiquito and Eterna states) they exceed 4,700 meters above sea level (15,419 feet).

On the other half, the Westlands region is generally hilly to the south and west with a coastal region to the north and east, where the capital city of Edmonton is located. The tallest peak of this region is Mount Rockefeller, which reaches a height of 2,276 meters above sea level (7,467 feet). The population in this region is concentrated in the coastal plains, with 55% of the state's inhabitants living in the cities of Edmonton and Adelaide.

Travel Advice

So, are you still interested in travelling to this nation to support your favourite national team? Well, if the answer to this question is "yes", then here we have some tips for you to make sure your stay will not be an unpleasant experience for both you and us:

1. While the Valladar Ministry of Foreign Affairs usually requires most tourists from non-Rushmore nations to have a visa (usually handed on arrival) to enter the country, fans will only need to show their ticket for a Cup of Harmony match (as well as their passport) in order to enter the nation. Tickets for group stage matches being played in Valladares will be sold and handed over by the competing football associations, tickets from the round of 16 onwards will only be sold and handed over in Valladares.

2. As the name of the nation might suggest, Valladares is a United Kingdom, with a King as its Head of State who is very beloved throughout the country and also seen as a symbol of unity by all citizens irrespective of state and/or mother tongue. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to insult, slander, defame him and/or any member of the Royal Family, create and/or spread any and all kinds of rumour involving both him and the Royal Family and/or orchestrate and perform any and all kinds of attack against him and/or any member of the Royal Family. Should you are found doing any of the actions mentioned above, you will be arrested, charged with lese majeste, and taken to a trial with the King himself as judge, who shall decide an appropriate punishment as he pleases. This punishment also includes deportation if the offender is a foreigner, of course.

3. The most spoken language by Valladars during daily life is Spanish, though English will be the main language spoken in parts of the Mountbatten and Eterna states, as well as French in the Foix state, and Portuguese in the Chiquito state. While locals will definitely appreciate that you make an effort to make yourself be understood when seeking help, they will not appreciate at all to see foreigners "butchering" their native languages. So our advice is this one: If you are not fluent in Spanish, French, or Portuguese, do not try to speak any of those languages: that will do nothing but irritate your interlocutor.

4. The rights of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly are fully guaranteed as long as you do not try to abuse of them by doing any of the things described in the second recommendation.

5. Smoking is forbidden at all public places (including stadiums). However, hotels are already implementing "smoking zones" where you can smoke at pleasure alongside other smokers without disrupting the lungs of non-smokers.

6. Valladares uses the Point (PT$) as its national currency, it is one of the Rushmore's strongest currencies with a current exchange rate of NS$1.68 to 1 Point. The Point is divided into 100 Centavos. We strongly advise that you exchange your local currency into Points or NSD as soon as you enter the country, because most shops and businesses will be reluctant to accept other currency than the Point or the Standard Dollar. Credit card holders should not have much of a problem, though.

7. National Parks in Valladares are very well preserved thanks to a strong environmental legislation, and as a result, they are visited by people from all over the multiverse who marvel at the beauty of the landscapes and the variety of wildlife found there. In order to keep their natural beauty intact, it is strictly forbidden to: camp on open field, lit bonfires, litter the ground, and extract any natural resource from them (whether plants or animals). Tours will always be led by two people: the park guide and a member of the Environmental Police, who will be watching over the group and making sure that none of these prohibitions is breached. Those who fail to comply with the rules will be sent to jail for 3 days, fined, and forced to make some "compensatory work" (such as planting trees or cleaning up streets) before they leave the country.

8. Fan groups will be allowed to bring with them their drums and flags to the eight stadiums that are going to host matches in the competition. However, flares are not allowed because of safety regulations. In addition to this, and taking into account the fact that this is intended to be a Cup of Harmony (emphasis added), the National Police will reserve to itself the right to arrest (and eventually deport) any and all troublemakers within the foreign fanbases. The following events will generate the Police to take action: provoking and/or offensive chants towards other fanbases or groups of people, fights between fanbases from different nations on streets and other public places, insulting banners, etc.

9. The City of Junín is a closed city and as such, it is off-limits to foreigners. Likewise, the Valladar-Darmen international border in the Westlands state will be closed for the duration of the tournament. Darmeni fans can still access Valladar territory by plane or boat, though.

Moving Around

Travelling into Valladares is usually done by airplane, though Electrumite citizens should not have much of a problem as they can get easily into the "mainland" via rail. The main gateway for foreigners entering the nation is Stanford-Miller International Airport, located in the town of Villena, in the District of Metropolis. From there, you can book flights to most of the main cities in the nation, and five of the other seven venues for the competition (except Los Chorros and Bezieres, which are a short train or car ride from the national capital). Valladares's railroad network is one of Rushmore's most advanced, extensive, and better maintained networks, linking virtually every important city and town in the nation and offering a fast and quality service, especially in the Metropolis-Canalave route, which is served by high-speed trains (or TAVs, as they are known locally). National highways are also very well maintained and also link the most important cities, allowing automobiles to move easily from city to city, while most state capitals also have their own mass transportation systems, Metropolis being an example with commuter trains linking it to its neighbouring cities and towns, an underground metro, and a BRT (bus rapid transit) system.

Venues and Stadiums

Map of Valladares with the eight venues to be used in the tournament

Eight venues in eight cities were selected by the Valladar Football Association to host the tournament, of which only three were renovated for the competition as the other five were already in line with the requirements to host the tournament. Twelve cities were initially presented as potential venues: Metropolis, Carloburgo, Eterna City, Campo Grande, Bezieres, Canalave, Slateport, Los Chorros, Fontvielle, Pradera, Edmonton, and Hoxford (the latter two in the Westlands), with the latter four being dropped in order to leave the final list of 8 stadiums for 4 groups. All of the host stadiums have state-of-the-art facilities and other modern amenities to improve fan experience and make this competition an enjoyable experience for players and fans alike, while the host cities have also prepared their most famous tourist attractions in order to leave a mark on every fan coming to this nation.

Group A

Metropolis
The city of Metropolis is the national capital of Valladares, being located at the confluence of the Danubio and Chorrillo rivers. Along with the suburbs of Cerro, Villena, Swangard, Géneve, and Chateau, it is part of the District of Metropolis, one of the eight Valladar states, although the Greater Metropolis conurbation includes the entire District of Metropolis as well as parts of the Mountbatten, Foix, and Chiquito states. Being the federal capital of Valladares, it hosts the executive (Prime Minister and Cabinet), legislative (Royal Parliament and National Assembly), and judicial (High Court) powers as well as several important national companies. Football is the main sport in the city, as Metropolis is home to 11 professional teams, with the most important ones being Metropolis Alligators, Marinos Metropolis, and Nacional (all of them playing in the Valladar Liga-1, the main professional football league in the nation). However, not everything in the city is sport, as the city also houses several famous art galleries, museums, theathers and monuments. The Metropolis Zoo, located in the south of the city, in the Córdoba neighbourhood, is also a recommended place to visit.

Stadium: Alexander I National Stadium (95,021 seats)

Alexander I National Stadium, located in the town of Swangard, just a short twenty-five minute commuter train ride from the City, is the national stadium of Valladares, and venue for most matches of the Valladar national football team. It hosted the nineteenth Champions Cup' final, as well as the tenth Copa Rushmori final, played between Darmen and Polar Islandstates, and won by the latter team, and also hosts the King's Shield final and the final playoffs for Liga-2 and Liga-3 every year. This stadium underwent a major upgrade in preparation for this tournament, its capacity was increased from 85,000 to 95,021 with the construction of a second tier on both ends, its roof was also renewed with a lighter material, and its press booths and VIP boxes were also enlarged. Wi-Fi connectability was also enabled for all seats in the stadium in order to improve fan experience to an unprecedented level in Valladares. This stadium will host the following matches:

GS MD1: San Jose Guayabal vs. Sargossa
GS MD2: San Jose Guayabal vs. Zenic
GS MD3: Red Blackiland vs. San Jose Guayabal
Cup of Harmony Final: Winner Match V vs. Winner Match Y

Los Chorros
Just a half hour away from Metropolis, Los Chorros can be reached through the Metropolis-Carloburgo highway, and the Metropolis commuter train Line A. Los Chorros, along with Yumbo, a neighbouring town, host one of Valladares' most important industrial parks with several companies establishing their main factories there. However, this city is mostly known for serving as a bedroom community for Metropolis, with over half of its inhabitants moving between Los Chorros and the national capital twice every day. Los Chorros is also a footballing hotbed, with its two most important sides being CAP, who are competing in the Liga-2 after being relegated from Liga-1 two seasons ago, and FC 1093 Los Chorros, who are currently languishing in the Mountbatten First Division, the sixth tier of Valladar football.

Stadium: Estadio Municipal (41,279 seats)

The Estadio Municipal was recently build by the city's local government in order to host matches for local club CAP. This stadium is known for having one of the best pitches in the whole nation, which receives top level care by a dedicated crew of 10 people, as well as the largest screens in any stadium in Valladares, which are located on each end. Because of this, only the main stands (Occidental and Oriental) are roofed, however, fans on the northern and southern ends of the stadium should not worry, as rain is a rare event in Valladares during August. This stadium will host four matches, which will be:

GS MD1: Zenic vs. Red Blackiland
GS MD2: Sargossa vs. Red Blackiland
GS MD3: Zenic vs. Sargossa
Round of 16: A1 vs B2 (R1)

Group B

Carloburgo
Carloburgo is the second largest city of Valladares, located at the confluence of the Tallin and Ullich rivers in the southwest of the nation. It is the cultural, social, economic, and politic centre of Western Valladares. The capital of Mountbatten state is home to the largest foreign community in the nation, and 38% of the city inhabitants are inmigrants. Carloburgo is a city with a rich history and an interesting mixture of architectural styles, with old buildings dominating the city downtown and modern buildings in the north and surrounding the city downtown. The city is home to five professional football teams, with Tannenberg FC as the most important and worldwide renowned of all of them. This bustling city is also the industrial hub of Western Valladares, and the gateway to the Valladar Southern Alps, an interesting place to visit.

Stadium: White Meadow Arena (69,780 seats)

Located in the outskirts of the city of Carloburgo, 20 minutes away from the city centre, this stadium is one of the newest in the nation, having been inaugurated by Tannenberg FC at the start of the tenth Valladar Liga-1 season. The "Bowl", as the stadium is nicknamed by TFC fans, is fully equipped and able to increase its capacity in exceptional cases thanks to retractable stands on the ends which can bring the spectators (specially those ones in the Knights End, home to Tannenberg's hardcore fans) closer to the pitch, greatly improving the game's atmosphere and fan experience. White Meadow Arena seats 69,780 people and will host three group stage matches as well as one of the semifinals:

GS MD1: Neu Engollon vs. Brenecia
GS MD2: Neu Engollon vs. Furellum
GS MD3: Queer Poco el Mono Ara vs. Neu Engollon
Semifinal: Q1 vs. Q2 (V)

Slateport
Unlike Carloburgo, which is located on the temperate southwestern mountains, Slateport is hot and its weather will not be as cool and nice as the one you will find in Carloburgo. This city is the second most populated city in the Eterna state, and is located on the Danubio valley in the shores of Hamanos Lake, an artificial water reservoir created by the Hamanos Dam further north. Slateport has taken advantage of the presence of Hamanos Lake by transforming it into the city's main tourist atraction, luring lovers of water sports from all over the nation all year round. There are also hundreds of resorts and aquatic parks established around the lake, which are visited by the city's inhabitants every weekend.

Stadium: Estadio de la Riviera (40,110 seats)

The Estadio de la Riviera is owned by the Slateport Municipality and is used by the local football club Slateport Bulls for their home matches, as well as Minault United, who hail from the neighbouring town of Minault in the Mountbatten state. Estadio de la Riviera is famous throughout Valladares for its atmosphere, with Slateport Bulls fans being one of the most loyal fanbases in the nation. This state-of-the-art stadium is located in one of the most beautiful zones of downtown Slateport, and is also surrounded by several restaurants offering typical dishes of the region, which are getting ready to live up to the expectations of fans from all over the multiverse. Estadio de la Riviera will host 3 Group B matches as well as a Round of 16 match:

GS MD1: Furellum vs. Queer Poco el Mono Ara
GS MD2: Brenecia vs. Queer Poco el Mono Ara
GS MD3: Furellum vs. Brenecia
Round of 16: B1 vs A2 (R3)

Group C

Eterna City
Eterna City, the third most important city in the nation, is located in the north of the nation, on the northern bank of the Eterna river. Known as the "City of Sunflowers", and due to its closure to Canalave, the most important port in Valladares, the capital of the Eterna state is one of the most important economic and sporting hubs of the nation, as it is the home for the basketball and volleyball national teams, and three professional football teams: Eterna Stars, Club Osum and Eterna Celtic, with the Stars as the most important of the three, having won two national championships. This city is also known for having a great nightlife, and also for being the place where the biggest city park in the nation, the Northern Park, is located. Also, visitors cannot leave without a visit to Monte Blanco, the highest mountain in the nation, and always present in any picture taken at the city.

Stadium: Alain Tramontin Stadium (60,207 seats)

One of the oldest football stadia still in use in the nation, the Alain Tramontin Stadium is located in the Villeneuve district, in the south of Eterna City. It was opened in 1966, with a capacity of 55,000 and the first and sole tenants of the ground have been the Eterna Stars, who have played at this stadium since their foundation in 1969. It has been the subject of at least three renovations to prevent its deterioration, with the last one being the most radical of all: for this upcoming Cup of Harmony, the stadium's capacity was increased to 60,000 seats, thanks to the change in the stadium's configuration from a bowl-shaped one to a rectangular-shaped one, which is meant to bring the stands closer to the pitch, hence improving fan experience. This also implied that the stadium's athletic track had to be removed in order to make way for the new seats. The locker rooms for both teams and referees were refurbished, as well as the press conference room, and a second tier of seats as well as a retractable roof were introduced. All of these improvements were intended to keep this stadium as the most modern and important one in the Eterna state. As it is surrounded by houses, the sale of alcohol and the presence of away ultras near the stadium are restricted by the local authorities. Alain Tramontin Stadium will host half of Group C matches and one of the quarterfinal matches:

GS MD1: Buyan vs. Cosumar
GS MD2: Buyan vs. West Angola
GS MD3: Electrum vs. Buyan
Quarterfinal: R3 vs. R4 (Q2)

Canalave
The city of Canalave is located at the place where the Eterna river flows into the Danubio river, and it is known as Valladares' most important port, being the site where tons of goods transported through the Great Inland Sea enter into the nation or are shipped out of it. Home to Liga-1 traditional club Canalave Dragons and other minor league sides, Canalave is known for being "the most romantic destination in Valladares", thanks to having a fortified Old City, which is surrounded and crossed by hundreds of canals which are visited by thousands of newly married couples every year. However, unlike Eterna City's climate, which is mild and comfortable, Canalave's climate is hot, sunny, and humid, with temperatures averaging from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius (89.6-93.2°F) which may become a disadvantage for any team coming to play here for the first time.

Stadium: Dragon Stadium (50,987 seats)

Dragon Stadium, known as "the Dragon's Den", hosts Liga-1 club Canalave Dragons, and will also host matches in this Cup of Harmony. Located to the east of the city of Canalave, in the Trefford neighbourhood, 15 minutes away from the city centre, and mostly known for being the venue for the Canalave Crown match, this stadium was built in 1993 and initially seated 35,000 fans, however, it was unpopular among Canalave Dragons' fans and football fans in general due to its shape and the fact that the stands were too far from the field, hence failing to create an ideal atmosphere for the game. After undergoing radical remodeling works which brought the stands closer to the pitch in order to ensure a better atmosphere and also replaced the old bowl-shaped stands by four rectangular, all-seated stands, the stadium's capacity was increased from 35,000 to 50,987. This stadium is renowned for its hostile (to away teams and fans) environment, which added to the city's own weather conditions make Dragon Stadium a very difficult place to play at for visiting teams. Dragon Stadium will host three Group C matches, as well as a Round of 16 match:

GS MD1: West Angola vs. Electrum
GS MD2: Cosumar vs. Electrum
GS MD3: West Angola vs. Cosumar
Round of 16: C1 vs D2 (R2)

Group D

Bezieres
The capital of the Foix state is located just hour and a half away from Metropolis by car, and it is known for being the "French capital" of Valladares as well as for its Carnival which is held during the four previous days to Ash Wednesday. Bezieres, which lies on the northern bank of the Rivière de Foix, is characterized by its modern buildings and its wide and forested avenues, and it's also the gateway to the Foixien Milky Way: a name for a group of towns to the south of the city which are known throughout the country for being the core of production of milk and other dairy products. As for football, Bezieres is another football-mad city, being the city from where the current Valladar champion (AS Bezieres) hails, as well as their rivals Étoile Verte and other Division d'Honneur Foixien teams.

Stadium: Stade de Foix-Jules Picot (63,150 seats)

Cup of Harmony matches in this city will be played at the Stade de Foix-Jules Picot, owned by one of the most important football clubs in the country (AS Bezieres) and able to seat 63,150 people. This stadium is considered as one of the most modern stadiums in the country, being equipped with a retractable roof, four LED jumbotrons which hang under the structure from which the roof is unfolded, underground parking, state-of-the-art VIP boxes, and a system for façade lighting which is going to be inaugurated for this Cup of Harmony. Three Group D matches are going to be played at the Bezierien stadium, along with a quarterfinal match:

GS MD1: The Archregimancy vs. United Eastedge
GS MD2: The Archregimancy vs. The Icemark
GS MD3: Gregoryisgodistan vs. The Archregimancy
Quarterfinal: R1 vs. R2 (Q1)

Campo Grande
Campo Grande is Valladares' fourth largest city, located in the Ituyán mountain range at a height of 2,750 meters above sea level, and is the capital of the Chiquito state. The "Garden City", as it is known because of its abundance of gardens and green spaces, is also known for hosting to the "Flower Festival" during the month of August, coincidentally one week before the start of the Cup of Harmony, so fans that arrive early to this city may take part in the colorful parades and marvel at the different floral species being exhibited all over the city. Campograndenses are also football lovers, most of them supporting Liga-1 side Real Campo Grande, with Liga-2 outfit EC Comercial and Liga-3 side Corumbá EC from the neighbouring town of Corumbá also attracting some preferences among football fans in the city. They're also known for being very demanding fans, and they will always expect the teams coming to the Estádio Estadual to offer some delightful football.

Stadium: Estádio Estadual Armando Bozzelli (58,259 seats)

The Estádio Estadual Armando Bozzelli is the football mecca in the Chiquito state, and usually hosts matches for Real Campo Grande, football club currently competing in the top tier of Valladar football, the Liga-1. This stadium, located in the north of the city next to the Campo Grande-Eterna City highway, was also upgraded for the Cup of Harmony, having been expanded from 50,000 seats to 58,259 seats by eliminating the athletic track and bringing the stands closer to the pitch, thus improving the atmosphere and fan experience at the stadium. The roof, locker rooms, press conference rooms, VIP boxes, and press booths were also renovated in preparation for the tournament. This stadium will host 4 matches: 3 group stage games and a Round of 16 match:

GS MD1: The Icemark vs. Gregoryisgodistan
GS MD2: United Eastedge vs. Gregoryisgodistan
GS MD3: The Icemark vs. United Eastedge
Round of 16: D1 vs C2 (R4)

Darmen will be focusing on winning an Olympic medal, so normal starters Siesman, al Din Lambert, Lee and Faulkner are all with the U-23 Olympic team, as are most of the team. The lighter roster however should give Darmen's new Manager, Roberto Cornejo, an easier time of settling in.

WEST ANGOLAN CUP OF HARMONY 61 ROSTER:

Image

The deaths of Phillip Garren and Luke Parrish gutted West Angola's coaching staff, and the team was forced to travel to Gregoryisgodistan for their final match of qualifying without a head coach and an attacking coach. Now headed by Isaac Warren, the squad fell 1-nil to conclude a disappointing qualifying campaign, and will head to the 61st Cup of Harmony with a cloud hanging over them. In a controversial but unsurprising move, the team did not return to West Angola following the match, announcing that they would remain in Gregoryisgodistan until the draw for the Cup of Harmony determined whether they would be playing in Valladares or Yttribia. While the official excuse was that the team did not want to risk violence from Namibe's unstable political situation, many suspect that the influence of Isaac Warren has left many players unwilling to return to newly-re-crowned King August II's sphere of influence. The decision of whether to return to West Angola or join the small group of exiles outside the country is fast approaching for the players, and which was they decide could determine their lives.

COACHING STAFF:

Head Coach: Isaac Warren- A forward for the team since the beginning, Warren was kidnapped and poisoned during World Cup 61. He was nearly killed, and the chemicals ravaged his body beyond condition for football. Planning to retire following World Cup 69, Warren has instead taken the reins of leadership on the team following Garren's death and will guide the team going into the future. With the pressing likelihood that the team will split apart after the tournament, with some returning to West Angola and some joining the exiles, Warren's decision is a sure thing, and he will be doing all he can to convince his players that their best future lies outside Namibe.
Age: 65

Assistant Coach: Jan Pawel- Pawel has been both a midfielder and a defender in his career, and over the course of Phillip Garren's shifting strategies, has played nearly everywhere on the pitch at one point or another, at one point even filling the crucial role of transitioning from the 4-4-2 to the 4-2-4 on the attack. Isaac Warren asked Pawel to serve as his assistant during the Cup of Harmony, with the tacit signal that he would be succeeding to the coaching duties after Warren's retirement. Close friends with Warren, Pawel is likely to choose to join Warren and the other exiles following the tournament.
Age: 40

Keeper's Coach: Blake Green- Green was a suitable replacement to Jacob Kerys, as he was slightly less talented but made up for it by being vastly more consistent, which helped relieve pressure from West Angola's defense. Green was originally part of a trio of area-specific coaches along with Parrish for the attack and Pawel for the defenders, but the deaths and promotions have left him alone. With no time to find suitable replacements, Green may find himself somewhat of a "third wheel" on the staff with only and assistant and head coach accompanying him. Relatively apolitical, Green's final decision regarding the aftermath of the tournament is completely up in the air.

This qualifying could've made the Cormorants. It broke them. So now they're back in the Cup of Harmony, forced to bury their daemons after never managing to string a good performance together in it. They have the quality, and have emerged as one of the early favourites... but victory is the only way to wash the sour taste out of the nation's mouth. The mission is simple: gold or bust.

Overall Record
121 wins - 26 draws - 42 losses
380 scored - 224 conceded

Honours
Champions of the 51st Baptism of Fire, the 6th, 8th and 10th Campionati Esportiva and, for what it's worth, Market Cup 6.
Qualified for World Cup 67 and 68.
Quarterfinalists in WC68 - the first Esportivan to make it that far.
Ranked 12th in the world, 1st in Esportiva.

First Team
Image
Most RPs will list the next game's formation, but this is the strongest team the Cormorants can field.

Tactics
The Sideburnese traditionally play a 4-4-2 formation; that said, the midfield is not entirely flat, with one central midfielder (Brandon/Crowe) dropping deep as a ball-winner and the other (Locke/Mathias) advancing forward to set the play. Their fullbacks like to overlap along the wings to create chances for the two strikers. The more selfish, skilful Cathar (Bittencourt) is supplemented by a deeper-lying target man, Rowland (Kite), who is more than capable of scoring on their own right.

In defence, it's all hands on deck, the pressure being constant and the back four pressing high - Coleman will act as a sweeper. Tackles go in hard and often sliding - this isn't a team afraid to get stuck in. In possession, the Nepharim don't mess about playing from the back, moving it quickly forward in a series of short passes, posing the greatest threat down the wings. They will never dive. In short; possession low, fouls high.

Jess MORTLOCK - 48
Manager

The good times are rolling. After a shaky start, Mortlock has brought Nepharim football into a golden age. Three wins and a draw with hosts and eventual finalists the Free Republics brought them to the quarter-finals of the World Cup, bested only by the Terns - this was followed by a third victory of the Campionato Esportiva. Mortlock has turned the high-pressure, high-tempo Nepharim game into an artform, and the team is well capable of asserting themselves on any team in the world.

Auburn BYWATER - 30
Assistant Manager

Originally in the team with the role of a 'whip' - someone to maintain discipline, keep players in line - when Boyden let his contract with the national team lapse to go and manage Premiership teams again, Bywater made the step up. She's only recently earned her coaching badges, but her man-management skills are more than sufficient for her lack of tactical nous.
1 - Reece COLEMAN - 29 - AFC Mayville (EUR)
15 caps, 5 clean sheets

Coleman might not be comfortable keeping the ball at his feet, but he's got the nerve and the pace to come out and contest a ball even in no-man's land. This is a trait that Mortlock evidently feels will be very much complementary to the high line the Nepharim defence keep. Beyond this, he's a fine stopper who can go toe-to-toe with the world's best when he's in form.

12 - Kieron RIORDAN - 33 - Dwile Warriors (APX)
66 caps, 28 clean sheets

A strong, seasoned goalkeeper, agile, good with distribution and decent with the ball at his feet. Riordan's the sort of goalkeeper with no real weaknesses, and it's his consistency that serves him best - he's not the sort to make dreadful howlers, or take risks on the ball. He's played the hero more than once, too, a few penalty saves for the national team, and those memories are fresh in the minds of most fans. Recently came out to state in the press that if he was no longer the first-choice, he shouldn't keep the number 1 out of respect like Stubbs and Thrift did before him. Mortlock obviously listened.

20 - Diandra BALLARD - 24 - Crisisbless
2 caps, 1 clean sheet

Ballard was already the second-best goalkeeper in the league at the age of 22, having been the best goalkeeper in Taijan for her two years on loan before that, and part of the AFC Treason youth team that made it to the Youth Cup final. Ballard, in short, has been marked for glory - she'll have to wait her turn for now, but practically everyone can see that she will wear the number 1 someday.
2 - James SLEET (3c) - 29 - AC Tallin (VAL)
Right-back
50 caps, 1 goal

A stalwart rightback who has only recently broken through into the Nepharim first team over Anna Shrike, making his breakthrough in the CE. He's technically skilled, and solid overall, liking to overlap on the wing but also content in a more defensive role.

3 - Cathy STOKES (c) - 31 - AFC Treason
Left-back
128 caps, 5 goals

Though then usually a substitute, Cath Stokes has been here since the very beginning, one of the youngest players in the BoF-winning squad. Since her stint as the number 22, she's secured her place in the first-team, been a star for her club as they won back-to-back titles, had a series of increasingly surreal dreams, slept with Konrad Evans, broke up with Konrad Evans and became captain. A very good all-around left-back, whether going forward or marking back.

5 - Hadrian BELFAST - 27 - Dwile Warriors (APX)
Centre-back
62 caps, 1 goal

Belfast and Marlowe have gelled with time, as opposed to a few years ago where they looked vulnerable. Belfast has evolved into a proper cunt, on the pitch at least, offering the steel of Finnan while also boasting a strong technique. He's looked solid as a rock ever since signing for Dwile, and his international performances have been superb - the professional foul that denied NSI what could have turned into an equaliser last CE final will live long in the memory.

6 - Tosca MARLOWE - 27 - AFC Treason
Centre-back
79 caps, 1 goal

Marlowe's a solid, skilled centreback whose specialty is in clean sliding challenges. She's a patient marker who rarely goes in late. With great anticipation, a fine mentality and a firm but generally fair physicality, she's a bulwark at the back for the Cormorants. She offers Belfast the cover for him to go forward and challenge opponents, secure she'll fill the gap at the back, and they're a formidable combination.

13 - Amanda CLOUGH - 26 - Brinemouth
Left-back
26 caps, 2 goals

Clough has finally finished developing from a fairly defensive player with blossoming technical skills into a fearsome attacking presence down the left wing, perfectly hooked crosses causing chaos in the box. Clough may not have the leadership or skill of the captain, but like much of the squad in general, she's hardly even a full step down in quality.

17 - Karl FINNAN - 31 - Crisisbless
Centre-back
48 caps, 2 goals

Finnan has the heart and steel to truly anchor a defence. While he's lost his starting place due to the superb chemistry between Marlowe and Belfast, he's still an outstanding defender who can really get stuck into an opponent. An aerial threat from set pieces, too - an iconic moment for the Nepharim came when he literally concussed himself to score a header against the Licentians.

19 - Elaine BLACKSTOCK - 29 - Brinemouth
Centreback
11 caps, 0 goals

A precise, intelligent defender comfortable on the ball, Blackstock was a natural fit for Larissa Garrotte's exceptional Brinemouth team. While likely a fourth-choice centreback, unlikely to see much game time without injuries or a rash of suspensions, Blackstock does offer something different to the team, especially if a more patient game is stressed. Also capable of filling at rightback - not her natural position, but she has the skillset for it.
4 - Michael BRANDON - 29 - Directus (EUR)
Holding Midfielder
83 caps, 4 goals

Deep-lying playmaker and midfield anchor in equal measure, Brandon is every inch the archetypal Nepharim holding midfielder. He's a steadying presence for the squad, the kind who makes those around play better knowing he's covering them. His sharp passing makes him a constant threat to start counter-attacks, too. A quietly essential presence for the Nepharim national team.

7 - Catheline HARPER (vc) - 31 - AFC Treason
Right Midfielder
76 caps, 15 goals

A strong physical presence, heavily tattooed along her arms and with boundless energy, Harper's a classic Nepharim midfielder. A standout in the last World Cup with her ability at set pieces, her ferocious long shots and her accurate early crosses, she's lost a yard of pace but more than makes up for it with the ball at her feet.

8 - Rutger LOCKE - 23 - Violence Chariots
Central Midfielder
20 caps, 5 goals

Locke thought he'd made the move of his career when Royal Rumiatzi picked him up - the fascist government cutting off all ties to the outside world put paid to that. At short notice, the Chariots picked him up, and in return he drove them to a ferocious title challenge, making a frightening partnership with another young central midfielder, Logan Murdoch. He likes to go forward and dictate play, and has a real bag of tricks to foil his marker.

11 - Jess LEINSTER - 25 - Violence Chariots
Left Midfielder
37 caps, 4 goals

Leinster is a key presence for the Chariots, with a dangerous sudden burst of pace that can utterly foil defenders. Not a natural goalscorer, but a constant creator of chances. Originally a surprise pick for the national team, her rise with the Cormorants has mirrored that with the Chariots.

14 - Kunibert MATHIAS - 26 - Brinemouth
Central Midfielder
7 caps, 1 goal

Kunibert Mathias, or generally just Kurt to Nepharim, had been a key player in Felix's midfield for years, but became one of the fascist regime's most open critics. Openly defecting to Nephara, having lived in Brinemouth long enough to be naturalised, he was a natural pick for the national team. An attack-minded midfielder who likes to take players on personally and strike accurately from distance, but he'll have a hard time dislodging Locke from the team - the playmaker seems key to Mortlock's plans.

16 - Gareth CROWLEY - 29 - Fligsive FC (TIS)
Left Midfielder
64 caps, 10 goals

A very physical, bruising winger, his turn of pace intact at 29. Boasts a fierce shot and a vicious cross, though shorter passing and defensive work aren't really his forte. Temperate off the field, but can get very heated on it.

18 - Andrea CROWE - 29 - Mardi Loppunies (NSI)
Holding Midfielder
19 caps, 1 goal

A creative holding player, perhaps not a midfield enforcer but capable of clean challenges and persistent marking. Adapted well to the Islander style of playing. Crowe's passing is by far her strongest asset, but she's been known to fancy herself with long, driving shots - you can't give her any space to go forward, or she'll punish you.

22 - Kylie PENRITH - 24 - Flying Jellyfish (FFD)
Right Midfielder
9 caps, 2 goals

The word that most commonly comes to mind with Penrith is 'buccaneering'. Or perhaps 'swashbuckling'. Either way, she's a player with genuine flair, the only truly flamboyant player in the squad. Either way, Penrith is a crowd-pleaser, strong and persistent in the attack, perhaps a little unskilled in defence, but by no means with a low work-rate. Any doubts on her readiness were settled when she scored on her debut.

23 - Uli ALSATIAN - 31 - FC Torshavn (PIS)
Central Midfielder
7 caps, 0 goals

For Alsatian, the transition into the Polar leagues was a less than seamless one, relegated in his first season, but his performance earned a transfer where he's been solid for Torshavn. He offers a strong box-to-box presence, and always fancies himself to go forward. The least specialised of the selected central midfielders, as well as the oldest.
9 - Keith ROWLAND - 28 - Holdenberg (EUR)
Striker
42 caps, 22 goals

Keith 'Judas' Rowland has developed into a dangerous target man - easily capable of great moves himself, but his partnership with the selfish but brilliant Rook Cathar up top is just tearing defences apart. His workrate and unselfishness on the pitch is underwritten by a humble, professional personality off it. Just don't tell Holdenberg City fans that.

10 - Rook CATHAR - 27 - East Franz Athletic (PIS)
Striker
47 caps, 29 goals

Cathar was always going to come good in a generic sense, but it's only recently he's been on fire. Largely two-footed, tall, strong, and industrious - Cathar has often been described as 'Gerd Thunder, but with pace'. It's not a perfect analogy - Cathar is less of a physical presence (like basically everyone), less experienced and less inclined to pressure defenders, but when it comes to smashing goals in he's unmatched. A truly world-class striker to lead the line for Nephara; exactly what the side needs.

15 - Georgia KITE - 26 - Maximum City
Striker
7 caps, 4 goals

A target woman who tends to be moderately prolific, Kite's ability to assist others is only a more recent addition to her skillset. Very fast, physically fit and tall, Kite takes a lot of stick from her fellow players for a refusal to drink alcohol and a stringent personal diet, but it's paid dividends for her athleticism.

21 - Cheney BITTENCOURT - 27 - AFC Treason
Striker
31 caps, 15 goals

Always possessed of remarkable technical and pace, Bittencourt relishes taking defenders on as he moves towards goal. A player who excels at making openings for himself. Compensated somewhat by not really being an aerial or physical presence, but he gets the ball in the back of the net with remarkable regularity. His ability to exploit the mistakes of a tired defence make him a valuable impact substitute for his nation, though he rarely starts.

Nation Background

Mizuyuki (Mikazukian: 瑞雪 , Tinchalian: 瑞雪, Mizuyuki; formally 瑞雪国 Mizuyuki-koku, Ruixueguo, alternatively the Celestial Empire of Mizuyuki), is in effect an amalgamation of twenty prefectures into a single unitary state, known formally as the Celestial Empire of Mizuyuki or the Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki. The Divine Empress of Mizuyuki, Empress Asuka, Shirakawa-no-Kirino, is the de jure ruler of the country, while in practice, a select group of ten individuals - collectively known as the Executive Committee - are the leaders of Mizuyuki.

Situated in the region of Aeneas, the Celestial Empire has prided itself at being at the forefront of scientific progress for many a year. However, in recent years its sporting achievements have been nothing to sniff at, either; two successive qualifications in WC66 and 67 tell its own story, while only two last-gasp goals prevented them from making it three in a row at the last World Cup. In absolute terms, however, success has been difficult to come by; the only footballing honours that Mizuyuki have bagged are the now-defunct Market Cup and the regional Aenean Cup.

Unfortunately, due to the inexorable progress of time, there is no historical record available for the foundation of the Celestial Empire. Historians claim that there is not sufficient empirical evidence to trace the links and connections back in time, but according to uncorroborated apocryphal evidence passed down via oral tradition, the lineage of the ruling House of Shirakawa can be traced to the ultimate deity of Kiseki-no-michi; Kirigiri-no-Mikoto-no-oomikami.

Mizuyuki is a country of approximately 72 million people. The population is about as homogenous as a pancake - more than ninety-five percent of the population are Mizuyuki-jin, with a smattering of other minorities floating around the place. It is a technologically advanced, semi-isolationist country that mostly keeps to itself, though it has been known to intervene in international affairs with the intention of preserving the status quo.

Stretching over 225,000 km2 in total land area, Mizuyuki ranks among the smaller nations in Aeneas - however, it ranks among the most densely populated nations in the region, with an average population density of almost 325 people per square kilometre. Mizuyuki has practised a form of government that is similar to an absolute monarchy ever since the promulgation of the Asuka Constitution in 2014. However, it does still retain some semblance of democratic government, with members of both Houses in its unitary bicameral parliamentary system elected by universal suffrage.

For more relevant information, see the Yukipedia page on Mizuyuki.

Team Background

Three cycles; all of them comparatively successful to the doom and gloom that came before.

Having been granted effective carte blanche over team affairs following her masterful managerial performances in her debut cycle, things have perhaps not gone in Shirakiin Kurumi's favour last cycle. Top seeds in the group stage for the first time in Mizuyukian footballing history, the Nova choked badly against their group stage opponents, leading to a relatively unfancied Neu Engollon outfit pipping them to the group title, and along with it an easier route to the 68th World Cup Finals in Legalese and the Free Republics. Shirakiin's young guns comfortably disposed of Kalumba over two legs in their first playoff, but suffered heartbreak in the second playoff against Osarius; having pulled off a dramatic equaliser in the dying embers of the game, the Nova were then undone by two quick-fire goals in extra time.

Shirakiin is a very ideological coach when it comes to football strategy and tactics; as such, she has persevered with her brand of attacking, creative football throughout her reign at the top of Mizuyuki's footballing hierarchy. Shirakiin heavily emphasises the rapid recycling of possession from the back - it's not uncommon to see the ball being passed quickly from the defence to the midfield or forward line after possession is gained, without any dithering on the ball. However, there is a distinct personality to the team's attacking play - Mizuyuki usually breaks rapidly down the flanks before cutting into the middle. This can give them some trouble when they come up against a team who prioritises the battle for the center of the park, but in that case the two inverted wingers will switch flanks and start to bomb crosses in from wide with their favoured foot - the same goes for the wingbacks. The fluid play of total football is emphasised in Shirakiin's system, and Mizuyuki's players will regularly switch positions during open play, so a wingback may appear in the forward line, and a striker might track back to defend while leaving a winger up front as an auxiliary forward.

Player assessments (Starting XI)

    TAKANASHI Kiyoko
At nineteen years of age, Mizuyuki's first-choice senior goalkeeper is the oldest player in the entire senior team. Her style, influenced in part by her height, can only be described as highly unconventional. As a goalkeeper, she is not used to banking on support from Mizuyuki's persistently high defensive line, and as such, plays an exceedingly proactive sweeper-keeper role - at times even traversing the entire defensive third to clear up any impending danger, as well as play a part in ball distribution for the offence. Her game is a high-risk, high-reward one - trained to distribute the ball as efficiently as the rest of the Mizuyukian outfield players, her long balls can catch the opposition off guard, but the downside is of course her tendency to get caught out of position whenever an opposition attack bears down on her goal. Positionally speaking, she is excellent; however, the same cannot be said for her handling skills. Two prominent weaknesses are obvious in her game - she is prone to losing focus or buckling under the pressure in big games, as evidenced by her unfortunate slip in a World Cup group stage match against Turori, while her command of her area is naturally weak due to her inferior height relative to other multiverse-class goalkeepers.

    NATSUME Rin
In keeping with the tradition of Mizuyuki's buccaneering inverted wing-backs, Natsume's play is designed around pace and wing wizardry. In a conventional tactical setup, the responsibility of providing incision from the flanks might well be left to the wingers - a stark contrast from the Shirakiin system. Thanks to the versatility which is so prized by the incumbent manager, Natsume found herself elevated to a starting spot ahead of the more tactically-limited Suzuki Rikka - and it is that very quality which has enabled her to thrive within a tactical setup emphasising creative freedom over excessive transitional rigidity. While defensively suspect, Natsume's speed and not-inconsiderable strength has allowed her to exploit defensive oversights or simple incompetence effectively; when switching positions with her left winger Uryū, she becomes a potent force on the flank, often cutting in to allow a teammate to make a free attacking run down the left. She is also a force to be reckoned with when on the ball - tricky dribbling is one of her strengths, and her finishing is commendable enough for a nominal defender when the ball falls onto her favoured foot. However, she can be easily harried off the ball when matched up against a stronger opponent with pace to match her own, and despite her skill on the ball, her off-the-ball movement can be questionable at times.

    ISHIO Mifune
The complete technical centre back schooled in the Mizuyukian art of 'defence' (i.e. offence is the best defence), Ishio is a veritable defensive totem for the Mizuyukian team. Arguably the most defensive player of the entire starting XI sans defensive partner Mikasa, her playstyle is geared towards providing adequate support for the midfield while retaining a modicum of control over Mizuyuki's own defensive third. Tactically speaking, Ishio's defensive role is simple - sweep up long balls and dispossess anyone prowling within range of her defensive zone, while leaving Takanashi to sort out the hopeful long punts. However, this task is decidedly more difficult than the job description would seem to suggest - having a goalkeeper with an unusual playstyle in Takanashi, Ishio is often tasked with the unenviable job of attempting to rescue a seemingly desperate defensive situation. Bailing out the rest of her defensive colleagues is usually part and parcel of the Ponyville United centre back's game, and her immaculate timing of the tackle is a huge asset. Despite being vertically challenged like the rest of the Mizuyukian team, Ishio is blessed with a stunning jump - she more than makes up for her inferiority in terms of absolute height by rising far above the opposition when challenging for headers, a great asset which often comes in handy at both ends of the pitch. It is one key reason why she has been a mainstay of the starting XI ever since Shirakiin took charge of the national team - there is simply no one else possessing her unique skillset, and whenever Ishio is absent, Mizuyuki look very suspect at defending set-pieces and crosses into the area, a weakness which is only exacerbated by Takanashi's poor command of her area.

    MIKASA Natsumi
A sports commentator was once overheard making a less-than-complementary remark about then fourteen-year-old Mikasa - 'what's that little girl doing on the pitch?' Barely 160 centimetres in height at sixteen years of age, one would not have thought that Mikasa makes a living as a professional footballer, let alone a centre back. It does not pay to underestimate the seemingly-frail Mikasa, however, as plenty of forwards found out to their cost last cycle - the Starfall centre back packs a punch when it comes to tackling, while her physique conceals above-average upper body strength honed by years of consistent regimens. In terms of style, expansive passing play is a defining characteristic of the more attacking-minded Mikasa. Often switching positions with the bulkier Saten, her competence in the pivot is nothing to be sniffed at - she is regularly the only pure defender to rank in the top ten of the senior squad in terms of successful through balls. Complementing Ishio's more defensively-oriented skillset with her own offensive spark, the two, in tandem with the midfield pivot of Ishibashi and Saten, form a formidable defensive combination.

    SATO Mana
Shirakiin's well-documented predilection for attacking-minded defensive players notwithstanding, Satō's long-standing presence in the senior team has always been taken for granted, simply because she does her unspectacular job spectacularly well. Less of a direct attacking threat than Natsume, Satō plays with two things in mind - one, to keep the opposition pinned back in their own half; and two, to create attacking outlets for teammates with her astute positioning. She is not one to be directly involved in the attacking play; however, her role is crucial in that it disrupts the opposition's defensive line and opens up all sorts of opportunities for Mizuyuki to capitalise upon. Pulling the opposition one way and another with sheer positioning is one thing; but being a credible threat to warrant the opposition reshuffle is another thing altogether; Satō has a mean eye for goal, and her delightful crosses are nothing to be sniffed at either. Can be found wanting for stamina in the later stages of a game, so she's usually the first player to be substituted whenever Shirakiin feels that she can afford to spend a substitution on energy conservation.

    SATEN Ruiko
Saten Ruiko can only be described as the human personification of the Energizer bunny. In her role as the box-to-box midfielder, Saten's unbounded energy and drive is the oil that keeps the Mizuyukian juggernaut ticking over comfortably. The number 22 usually plays in a withdrawn role in midfield, allowing the more creatively talented Ishibashi to venture forward supporting the attack, but she is hardly one to shy away from partaking in the attack herself. Unlike the silky Ishibashi, Saten plays rough and is not ashamed of it; she is well-known for her hatchet jobs and bodychecks, and many a player has been on the receiving end of one of her powerful challenges. A dab hand both on the ground and in the air, the midfield general is well-rounded in all aspects of the game, and is especially talented at the fine arts of tackling and pressuring the opposition. She likes to shoot from long range, especially when facing a shaky opposition goalkeeper, while her exceedingly impressive energy levels allow her to flourish well late into the game. A favourite Shirakiin ploy is to substitute a fresh Saten in after the hour mark as an impact substitute, with a brief to harass and force mistakes out of the tiring opposition.

    ISHIBASHI Tomoe
Mizuyuki's very own midfield metronome, passing is second nature to Ishibashi as breathing is for most people. Usually playing alongside the energetic Saten, Ishibashi's own style is more languid, relaxed and distribution-centric, focusing on dictating play and supplying the pacy attacking quartet with her incisive passing. As can be expected for a master of the pass, Ishibashi's vision is exemplary; spraying passes left, right, and center, her proficiency in this department meshes well with the intelligent attacking runs of Uryū and Isshiki, providing them with all the support they require to wreak damage in the final third. Ishibashi complements Tsuchimikado's more adventurous style well; often to be found roaming in an advanced position later in a match despite her withdrawn starting position, Ishibashi's sublime interplay with Tsuchimikado has brought many an opposition defence to its knees, the two often combining to devastating effect in the opposition half. The Saten-Ishibashi combo has also proved to be a winner; depending on the success of her interplay with Tsuchimikado, Ishibashi can withdraw slightly and feed the buccaneering Saten with shorter balls instead. Free-kicks have always been a key strength of Ishibashi's game, and she has scored some delightful scorchers over the course of her national career, with the most memorable coming in a Phoenix Cup game against Felix. A significant weakness is her defensive inadequacy; many's the time Ishibashi has been caught out of position when the team is caught on the break, and that can prove especially costly if Mizuyuki's flank players have overplayed their hand in attack.

    URYU Kaori
The youngest member of Shirakiin's starting XI at the tender age of fourteen, Uryū Kaori is nonetheless widely acknowledged as one of the finest wingers that the Celestial Empire has ever produced. And that's saying something, with raw talents rolling off the assembly line by the hundreds every single cycle. Blessed with a dizzying turn of pace and all the technical attributes to thrive under the yoke of a Shirakiin system, the teenager is a crucial attacking outlet for the Nova. She isn't a prolific goalscorer by any means, and can sometimes be guilty of overplaying, but the bag of tricks she has under her belt more than makes up for that minor shortcoming; her inclination for blowing past stranded, flat-footed opponents to produce hatfuls of chances for her teammates to convert has quickly made her a fan favourite. She specialises in perfectly-timed low crosses, which is at odds with Kurugaya's physical style, but can also deliver a peach of a floater whenever the situation necessitates it. Skilful finishing is part of the tricky winger's repertoire as well; several memorable strikes have come against top-class opposition, some of which will definitely live long in the memory. The sheer quality of her goals compensates for their relative paucity; however, she has shown a compulsive eagerness to shoot in recent games, so don't be surprised if the goals start to come hard and fast.

    TSUCHIMIKADO Mikoto
Captain and goalscorer extraordinaire, no single player in Mizuyukian footballing history has ever matched Tsuchimikado's astonishing goalscoring ratio. Nominally a creative attacking midfielder, Tsuchimikado tends to play off her forward's shoulder, her versatility allowing the team to shift to a two-striker formation with the minimum of fuss. An unparalleled instinct for scoring, coupled with a stunning rocket of a shot, has allowed Tsuchimikado to plunder goals against opposition from all across the ranking spectrum with remarkable ease. No matter where she may be on the pitch, she's always a latent threat waiting to pounce when the opportunity arises - just ask Northern Sunrise Islands 'keeper Mellody Sioux, who was beaten by a spectacular 35-yard angled drive during WCQ 69. As part of her armoury, the captain also boasts an unerring eye for the cute pass. Her telepathic connection with both Ishibashi and Saten allows her to showcase that particular attribute to devastating effect, regularly combining to pass the opposition out of the game with her midfield colleagues. Tsuchimikado's main strength is of course her finishing and anticipation, but she is equally well versed in the art of tackling - whenever interchanging with Kurugaya, she is often the first line of defence for the Nova, and her high work rate plus impressive engine allows her to give the opposition defenders no end of trouble. Top-class teams can often mark her out of the game by sticking a strong defender on her, although she does have a turn of pace that can leave the inattentive marker sprawled on the pitch.

    ISSHIKI Mika
The classical Mizuyukian inverted winger, Isshiki lives for causing havoc on her flank. Whenever she steps on the pitch, you can bet she's going to do her damnedest to give her defender a torrid time. Being an out-and-out winger, she has that yard of pace which enables her to always be a step ahead of the pursuing defender, and it is undeniably her biggest asset. Unlike the more technical Uryū, who revels in executing sublime crosses and pulling off spectacular dribbles, Isshiki doesn't bother with the aesthetic side of the game if she can get away with it - she simply blows past everyone else and gets the ball into the box, failing which she will apply the finishing touch herself. You would be surprised at how much damage Isshiki can cause with a penetrating run with the ball, but it's just another day on the job for the speed merchant. Don't be fooled into thinking that Isshiki's speed is her only strength, though; the Canterlot Stars winger has made a name for herself after bamboozling some of the most experienced Miria defenders during her debut cycle. Underestimate her at your own peril.

    KURUGAYA Miki
A highly accomplished target man, Kurugaya's finishing prowess - both in the air and on the ground - is simply unsurpassed in Mizuyuki. Standing at 174 centimetres tall, Kurugaya is a strong presence in the penalty area, and she uses her strength to great effect. Whether it be sweeping loose balls home from close range or sending goalkeepers sprawling with thirty-yard piledrivers, Kurugaya is in her element when scoring - she and Tsuchimikado alone have contributed close to forty percent of the Nova's goals over the last three cycles. However, she isn't a selfish player by any means; she is equally comfortable holding the ball up and waiting for support to arrive. Pace is yet another key attribute in the Kurugaya armoury, while her athleticism has improved by leaps and bounds after Shirakiin slotted her into the starting XI in place of Izawa. Her sheer instinct for knowing when to arrive in the box has contributed to a large amount of her goals, while opposition defenders would do well to pay attention to her propensity to force the issue and pull the trigger at the slightest hint of an opening.

OOC: This roster has been pulled straight from the WC69 roster thread. I will edit it when I get a chance, but I'll likely not be online much (if at all) over the next couple of days due to RL commitments. Ignore player caps and any references to WC69. Apologies for any confusion this may cause.

Barunia's National Football Team

Gone are the days when Barunia shocked the multiverse as the plucky underdog of 64. Now they're an established side with some big names and some even bigger chances. The Suns aren't slowing down for this campaign though, and will keep the foot on the throttle as they look for they enter their third Cup of Harmony

Head Coach: Joric Ruskin
Joric Ruskin played just seven international games in his footballing career, but he is still regarded as a legend in Barunian Sports. The Sun's captain during his career, Joric led them to the quarter-finals of the Baptism of Fire. In the Sun's inaugural World Cup campaign, Joric played just one game before departing the team suddenly. It later transpired that he had left to join the Socialist army in the civil war. His career as both a footballer and solider came to an abrupt end when he lost his legs in a grenade attack. Now confined to a wheelchair, the former defender for the Marion Hawks has found a new career as a football coach. His first campaign as coach saw him guide the team to their first world cup qualification. With a second World Cup finals appearance under his leadership, Joric makes a safe return to try and make it three in a row.
NB: As is typical of football teams in Barunia, the Suns do not have a manager. The Coach is responsible for managing the team.

Team Line-up
OOC: If I RP before you, please check my RP for the start list, as I will be changing it regularly. If you RP first, or I haven't posted a start list, the players in the picture on the right will be starters. If you wish, feel free to make changes, as long as you swap defender for defender, midfielder for midfielder, etc, and keep the 4-2-4.

Formation and Play Style
Formation: 4-2-4 / 4-4-2
Joric has stuck to the winning formula first seen in WC67. A traditional line of four at the back, with the midfield consisting of a holding midfielder and attacking midfielder in the centre. Two attacking midfielders switch between midfield and attack as they set up runs down the side in a fluid 4-4-2/4-2-4 game. Joric is asking more from these two wingers as he looks to up the intensity the team keep on the opposition goal. Expect more goals coming from the wings and relentless attacks from the two forwards, with support from the opposite winger and attacking midfielder.

Stadiums
Sam Garcia Field, Northport Sports Complex - Capacity: 43,000
Located in the city of Northport-San Baptise in the Northern Islands, this ground is the sacred heart of Barunian football. Located near the place where people first came to Barunia, San Baptiste island is considered the place where football began in this country. It's a ground known for firsts, hosting all home matches during the Suns inaugural World Cup campaign (due to it being the only safe ground during the civil war) and is the home of the San Baptiste Sea Lions, the first Barunian Football League championship team.
Image

United Stadium - Capacity: 110,000
This massive ground is the largest in the country, and is situated in the heart of the national capital of Porthaven. Home to Porthaven United, the most successful team in Barunian Football League history, the stadium regularly draws massive crowds and will be used for some of the most anticipated match-ups of the 69th World Cup campaign.
Image

Blackrock Stadium - Capacity: 80,000
Blackrock Stadium is located in Newland, the state capital of West Barunia. It is the largest roofed stadium in the country and the third largest in terms of seating capacity. The stadium is home to the Western Orcas, two-time champions of the Barunian Football League. The closed roof and close stands gives this place an atmosphere, and the noise of the crowd will reverberate around the stadium, making it a terrifying place for opposing teams.
Image

Memorial Stadium - Capacity: 100,000
It's been a long time coming for this upgrade to the Marion Hawk's home stadium. Originally intended to be named in honour of Hawks legend and national coach Joric Ruskin, the stadium name was changed at Ruskin's suggestion to honour all those who fought in the civil war. Memorial stadium is located in Edwardton, the capital of Marion state, and is shared by both the Marion Hawks and Edwardton Eagles, which has led to the nickname "The Birdcage". The newest stadium in Barunia, Memorial stadium has a retractable roof, 90,000 seats plus terraces, plus plenty of room for foreign media and large movable screens at the back of the top tier.

Play style: The game who SJG does, is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement of players, using his intelligence for the game for single passes very accurate soil to accumulate players when attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counterattacks that can hurt any team.

In the defense area, they tend to use more physical to play aggressively without damaging the rivals, except that the defenses are of medium height stands that are agile in the aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat thereby, expect always a fair game from this team.

Players like try long-distance shots to beat the goalkeeper, but SJG can have more surprises because it is a team that does not give up that easy.

Key Players Bio

Ordered in base of relevance and fan support/love

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: Born in Islas Canarias, SJG. (25 Y/O) Striker who plays in Northbrook Diamonds (PIS)

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Henry "Spider" Hernández Born in Punta Arenas, SJG. (25 Y/O) Goalkeeper who plays in AC Tallin (VLD)

The player in charge of the last defence bastion on the team, Hernández has demonstrated that he's a very secure goalkeeper during the last three cycles, specially the last one when we reached the WC Finals and he saved our goal from several goal chances from the rival sides, now Hernández wants to allow less goals than the last campaign, with the sole purpose of leading SJG for his second WC appearance.

Leónidas Bregoo Born in Ruland, Farfadillis (Guayabalense parents) (21 Y/O) Midfielder who plays in Mierton (TAE)

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Specialities: Free kick.

IC: Important Info

Fans Football hooliganism is definitively a real problem in SJG. With riots recently reported in the matches against Paradystopia, the FGF (Federación Guayabalense de Fútbol) is trying to find a way to protect guest fans. Also, fans will treat the fans of the following nations heatedly, some for having a rivalry like SJG VS Darmen, Gregoryisgodistan and Yttribia. However Security topic is seriuously for the safety of visiting fans.

Main information:

Welcome to San Jose Guayabal, I'm Miguel Serrano, the president of this beautiful, beautiful country, then I will give you some important details about this country.

First let's start with a little history, mainly with basics.

Our nation was inhabited for many centuries, specifically from the ninth century BC, inhabited by indigenous nomads who formed a large settlement in what is now called "Lake Metropolitan", located near San Salvador, our capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Antarctic regions which lie south of our nation in what are now the "Territories Antarctic Guayabalenses" we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, highlighting in the process the browser Luis Barbosa, a shrewd and skillful explorer who discovered the 70% of our country, including four major islands in our nation.

Not only shared their culture, but their religion and their language, giving rise to a multicultural society since its inception. Unfortunately those times of peace were shattered by two periods of war from 1989 to 2024, where the war ended with the hope and life of many people.

Since the peace accords were signed, our nation has been devoted to the welfare of others, making room for a tolerant Communist system compared to other systems in other social, where social and cultural freedoms normally prevail also noteworthy that Despite being a communist country, we have no problems with receiving foreign, even more, we include in terms of hospitality, this being a country that stands out in terms of tourism and as happiness, let alone "We are Pura Vida!" (We are Pure Life!".

In terms of infrastructure, San Jose Guayabal is characterized by a large number of hotels that tend to meet the needs of the most demanding clients, and a good transport system, consisting of inter-regional buses funded by the national government, besides the bullet train service covering major towns in the nation, a good amount of air routes between different cities, plus an excellent state highway system in the SJG, note that in all there is a limit highway established speed, although it is recommended to handle less than 150 kilometers per hour, but if there are speed limits on the outskirts of towns and cities, where you have to reduce speed to 60 kph in the suburbs and 50 kph on cities, the naming of streets is in Spanish and English, in addition to the measures listed length is measured with the metric system. Importantly system interconnecting each island ferries our nation quickly and inexpensively.

Our national currency is the GuAlSa, a strong currency if we talk about exchange globally (G$ 0.33 = $1.00 NSDollar or G$ 3.33 = NS$ 1.00), because it's a currency used in five countries, including Alianza Albos, Ratastan, Flammable American Sates and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk gorod, this country is well known for being one of the cheapest in all Esportiva, next we present you a chart with the prices of things you'll use in your stay.

Emergency vehicles are marked with the name of the service (be it Police, Fire, or Ambulance), and are also equipped with a siren and flashing either blue or red lights. If you encounter one of these vehicles while the lights, the sirens or both are active, please take extra care, and if necessary, pull over at the nearest and safest opportunity, using your turn signal to ensure that the driver of the emergency vehicle is aware of your actions.

FOOTBALL

Some forty years ago, a couple of Esportivan communist exchange students decide to kick a ball around on a field not too far away from Vadshult. After a lot of history, we’ve now ended the year 2019 and football is tilting the crown as the most popular sport in the archipelago. In the fifth season of the unified Top Division, Viztourzys Kolektyvinis retook their dominance with a fourth title, getting the better of Jottnar Kallsmudden. The side also can pride themselves upon a certain international stature after winning a Globe Cup. The national President’s Cup saw already a list of victorious sides, with Bengtsmark IF, the nation's second team, as the latest addition. The official national competitions contain 48 teams and are still up to expansion, but its popularity mainly lies on the many local teams and competitions. Especially in the western part, football is the main sport, whilst being opposed to the popularity of rugby and basket in the east.

Before our international wake, Buyanese football was usually noted by powerful midfield play, with a lot of forward focus transcended in one man: a team was often defined by its type of attacking midfielder and the position was probably a bit overrated. Navickas and Cedar, by example, previously grew into the posterboys of their time that way. These days, the man around which Buyanese football revolves is Sverre Devold, although Piotr Kluszak might hold that position in the domestic Top Division. These stars of the new generations, however, demonstrated that the danger doesn't have to come from one person only and the ability from Viztourzys - and more recently Bengtsmark, Blau-Weiss and Jottnar - to deal with this new football reality have allowed them to grow to the highest level. The fact that Hope held on to the same opinion has certainly helped to popularize the idea.

He stamped out the old traditions with a renewed midfield where the wings can produce a lot of danger as well, but with a larger focus on the defending as a whole. It was a typical vision in Buyan to see attacking players stay forward when the opposing team launches an attack, causing a lot of pressure and goals, but the national side doesn’t show so. Hope wanted a sturdy defence, unless there are opportunities on the wing, with Naess and Zermin as a double lock on the door. It brought Buyan a Baptism of Fire, but after 88 international games, the reign of Hope stranded on a goalless draw against Kernansquillec... And the World Cup being further than ever. A fourteen on eighteen, under new manager Reinhard Shale, brought them back in the race but the Hedgehogs fell one point short to United Eastedge. Time to show in the Cup of Harmony that said was only a slip up in the way to the top.

Buyan has come a long way since their debut interland, a worrying 3-0 loss against Dandillis. Their first CE saw proper performances, but the Hedgehogs only got the taste of winning in their Baptism of Fire. Without dominating, they amassed the victories. After beating Kitsunia-Deesse and Dutciberg, they faced The Sarian in a thriller. After one hundred twenty scoreless minutes, penalties had to decide upon a victor and the steel nerves from the Buyanese came out on top. The tournament marked Zemaitis, Havelund, Tufte and not in the least Sverre Devold as international players and lay the foundation of a respectable World Cup campaign.

Despite organising the next Campionato, it didn’t saw a real breakthrough of Buyan and the Beltane Cup ended in deception when Yttribia got the best of us, leaving us with bronze. But the World Cup qualifiers were exceptional, playing eighteen games back-to-back without a single loss. Taking the scalps of United Gordonopia, Thatius and the Equestrian States, Buyan surprisingly qualified for the World Cup 68 proper. After losses against Legalese and Osarius, Buyan grabbed three sweet points after a much contested duel against Rüntenbach, seeing Manuel Schmidt as a hero.

Their third campaign of international football has resolved in mixed results. Due to internal issues, a homegrown side had to contest the CE and the Beltane Cup. The CE ended faster than hoped, as Apox cut short the road to the quarterfinals, but the Beltane resulted in the second trophy in the cabinet, as we once again showed more cool on penalties against Greater Watford. The expectations were high: a second World Cup qualification was a must but that did not work out. A second round, and preferably more, in the CoH 61 might do away some of the pain.

Second Assistant: Alowysz Krupa, Image

Debuting can be a remarkable word if we apply it to a man who has almost two decades of football experience behind him. Alowysz Krupa wore the shirt of the Blue Hedgehogs on 35 occasions and is a cult hero for his former domestic side Garbarnia Hoyersko, whose black and brown colours he defended for nine years. Being one of the most modest men ever to represent our nation, he will still remain a national icon for being the one to score the all-important penalty during the Baptism of Fire victory. Up to this day, it remains the only penalty ever shot by this man who is once too often called a grey mouse.

First Assistant: Erica Brewer, Image

Joining the Buyanese coaching staff, Brewer raised more than one eyebrow as she is one of the first females to enter the masculine circle of Buyanese professional football. However, all question marks were quickly turned into exclamation points once they got to know her. Her thorough knowledge of opponents, attention to details and patience makes her the ideal counterpart for Shale, with whom she shares her career. No surprise that by now, she is quite rightfully seen as 'one of us' by the dressing room, judging her by her skill rather than her gender.

Manager: Reinhard Shale, Image

Sirius Hope brought Buyan to glory in the Baptism of Fire, lead them to their first World Cup and overlooked the squad that gained the Beltane Cup, but his time with the Hedgehogs stranded on a string of shaky performances in the World Cup qualifiers. It's here that Shale came into the picture, a man who could bring in the right kind of résumé despite only being 43 years of age. This talkative manager took up coaching after a career as winger being cut short by injury - we do like some coherence here in Buyan - and earned a name for himself when he not only lead Maximum Rovers to a title in the second division, but turned them into a solid side for the Nepharan competition.

Domestic powerhouse AFC Treason noted his class and Shale did live up to the expectations, bringing them a new title. But after three years, he decided it was time for a new challenge and found it in the dwindling Buyanese national team. With fourteen points in the remaining qualification games, the Hedgehogs haven't lost yet under his reign, as he tries to bring them away from their defensive outlook to a typical Nepharim 4-4-2. Shale is a talkative, media-friendly manager who tends to make the most of his time with the press, always quick with a joke. Even if that joke needs to pass inaccurately through a translator. He tends to take a challenge head-on and never really bother with the subtle route. It's something the Buyanese will have to get use to calm and subtle Hope.

KITS

Image

After using regular blues for the Campionato Esportiva VIII, Buyan addressed Vulpine Sportif who provided them with beautiful kits, both in a blue edition for the home side and red ones for the away games. But time flies and the BFB rightfully decided that it was time for an update. The result is the above marvellous shirts, kindfully provided by AER Sportswear. This modern touch certainly has added to our flair. We’ll wear these excellent shirts with pride, added with red shorts and socks. The goalie will take the field in an all blue outfit.

It's big, it's build on an unpractical location and if we believe the contractor, it's build on a swamp.
But it's also state of the art and featured some games in the Campionato Esportiva IX, hence the name.

The one-attacker system almost proverbially attached to Sirius Hope is now a thing of the past and it leads to a new tactical scheme, a Nepharim 4-4-2 with a narrow diamond on the midfield. It is intended that the wing defenders will take up more offensive actions in this system, reaching the line from time to time if possible.

Between the posts, Ulle Seber managed to reclaim his spot. The Garbarnia goalie, out during the WC 68 due to an awful knee injury, took the upper hand as starting goalie since Shale took over and only had to admit one in the last 540 minutes. He's reliable, splendid in one-on-one but not unbeatable on a long-distance shot. Despite playing for a minor domestic side, Seber holds Manuel Schmidt on the bench so far. Schmidt, former Rüntenbacher and goalie of Viztourzys Kolektyvinis, Buyan's most famous club team, is more than a good double, as this spectacular keeper is as good as his opponent between the sticks. A change - if the opponent asks for it - is not impossible but the two have the utmost respect for one another. Third goalie Saldlund was once a major prodigy, but hasn't made that last step up yet. Questions arise if he ever will.

As left defender, Kazimieras Zemaitis is the household name. Quick, always ready for a counterattack and with a stinging shot, one would almost forget that over the past few years for Viztourzys he also became a strong defender with a mean tackle. One of the few Buyanese of true multiversal level, this shy wingback is a unique asset. His doublure, Dziuba, is carved out of similar wood, but still lacks the international experience and view on the game. Nonetheless, he has shown promising things during his few appearances. The heart of the team is formed by a duo whose names are the first on the board ever since our very first international game. Bronius Bartkus is the captain of Viztourzys and leader of the defence here, a clever player with a subtle pass and a strong head. His positioning is near to perfect and only a heavy knee injury held him from playing much in the qualifying campaign. A gap that was filled by Giertych, a youngster who has promise written all over him and a true professional. Teaming up with Bartkus in the middle of defence is Sigurd Tufte, a man who grew during his years for Mytanar Dinamo Esca from an interesting talent to a reliable international. Tufte still is a bit more rash than his counterpart, but brings a few dangerous infiltrations and a good long pass to the team, along with a good header. His stunt double is Antanas Mamontovas, a man who struggles a bit with the international level but with the years still on his good side. Completing the quartet, the right defender position will probably be filled by Ignas Smetona who is reunited with his former Viztourzys mates Bartkus and Zemaitis. An enfant terrible, he lost his spot on the team during our first Campionato Esportiva and disappeared from the spotlights. However, he matured and made a career for himself in San José Guayabal, where his spectacular style, dribbling and stinging assists were much appreciated by the local fans. Hope brought him back to the squad and Shale entrusted him with the right-back position, discarding the reliable but more static Refshauge. Gabs Refshauge, number two in terms of all-time caps, did not even make the squad as he was passed for Giedius Justs, the brightest prospect in the defensive department and the latest acquisition of Commercianti and likewise a winger, but a tad less expressive as Smetona.

Any good diamond midfield falls or stands by their holding midfielder and it is there that Quinten Zermin enters the story. Starting as a left midfielder, der Kaempfer grew into a player that is both capable to add something in the build-up and strong enough to withstand opposing pressure. Broad shoulders, vast experience and a great attitude, he is the rock on which his teammates can build. Shale chooses him over Harald Naess, a tad more creative but less able to hold up a huge radius. The experienced Naess, vice-captain, is still a viable option when more calmth is needed. On the left, Frederik Wallenberg disappeared from the squad after an unnecessary red card in the vital game against Free Swiss States, possibly the end of his international career. His spot is filled by Dimitri Plovnarov, who recently left his youth club Sparta Torspeda for a Farf adventure. Despite not too spectacular, Plovnarov is a creative fellow with a great kick and a fine pass. A few more centimeters would have benefitted him, but he has still plenty of room for improvement. His doublure is Lammerschon, a quiet, hard-working player who makes up with attitude for what he lacks in talent. It earned him a spot in Viztourzys, one in the future for Buyan as well? On the opposite side, two gifted fellows try to match one another, even managing to deny the always appreciated Marco Castell a place in the selection. Eero Halmiini, on his way out of the currently defunct Mytanar competition, still is on the starting eleven as he has more experience and can break open a closed game as no other. Quick feet and smooth rushes define him, only a few more goals wouldn't hurt him. He holds Espen Knutsen on the bench, a player that moved out of the Buyanese competition to Nephara and hasn't regretted that move. Knutsen is stronger and taller than Halmiini and will possibly feature against more physical opponents. This brings us to the defining player of the Buyanese team, the only player that could come anywhere near the term superstar. Sverre Devold is a true number ten and after a succesful time for Jottnar Kallsmudden, he became a key player for Apoxian Barbury Town, a side in the second-biggest competition in the multiverse with which he won national and international titles. He's - for a number ten - quite defensive, but with a good kick and similar vision. His main lack might be his confidence, he's not always the leader this team needs. In case of troubles, it seems that Buyan found a double for him in Piotr Kluszak, who rocked the domestic league with his bright performances. A daredevil with great vision and quick feet, he gives Devold some pressure.

This leaves open the offensive department, in which two rather new players to the national team try to shine. Duco Dalmshelf is a true goalscorer, who attempts to appear as often in front of goal as possible. It earned him the Golden Boot in the last Top Division and with fourteen goals, he's third on the eternal list of the Hedgehogs. He's not too tall and his heading is moderate, but otherwise he's a very stubborn and useful killer who doesn't need too many chances. On his side, Andrey Rettinger might be the most surprising name in the line-up. The first Buyanese ever to try his luck abroad, Rettinger became a club monument for Nepharim side Goodfeather. His style isn't that attractive for the eye but he brings power to the team and has an eye open for a fellow attacker. He's also an important weapon on free kicks and corners, as Buyan traditionally seldom makes the most out of these situations. The two remaining attackers on the squad allow Shale to alter his formation. Elmo Havelund, often called the Lantern Post by the press, never has been much-liked by the fans, but he did score quite often in the infamous system with one attacker. Under Shale, he appears less but remains a faithful player who will always give his best for Buyan. Last but not least, Sil Moen wears the number nineteen. He's an interesting white rabbit in the hat, hard to define by only one position. A creative left foot, very intelligent and versatile, capable to bring a tactical change from paper to grass, Moen remains an ace to throw on the table when things get tough in any system.

National Football Team of Schottia

Cup of Harmony 61

------------------------------

Manager: Barry Gorman 44
Assistant: Jackie Lowell 51
First Team Coach: David Chettwell 62
Gk Coach: Norman Davis 39
Physio: Claire Hanson 24

------------------------------

Team info

The management team of Barry Gorman and Jackie Lowell have made steady progress since taking the reins from Pascal Voitle just before the start of the World Cup qualifiers. Being one of the lowest ranked sides in the competition, not much was expected of them going into what looked to be a challenging qualifying group. However Schottia held their own, picking up three wins and five draws, scoring 29 goals in the process. This was a massive improvement for the White and Greens after their score of zero points the year before.

Mark Allen, who was lively during the qualifiers will keep his place in the starting line up, with Bruno Schwartz moving to the bench. Joey Bia, who also made an impact, will hope to consolidate his position on the right of midfield. As always Schottia will look to the midfield engine room of Gary Corsie and captain Colin Donaldson to hold the centre of the park, the two stalwarts are on an excellent run of form. However, as is to be expected, a great deal of the nations hopes will rest on the shoulders of Gaston Avelione, the attacker now operating just off the striker. The Handon United man was the country's top goal scorer over the fourteen games with eight goals.

The Squad

Image

---------------------------

1. GK D'Araby, 31 Image Handon United
North Islander Lucas D'Araby has 89 Caps for his country. At 190 cm he is an imposing presence in the goalmouth, and is famous for his shot stopping ability. He has been a stalwart for his club, Handon United, keeping the No. 1 shirt for eleven consecutive seasons. With United he has won six league titles and four Schottic Cups.

2. RB Gordon, 30, Image Handon United
The Versitile Defender Jack Gordon has 75 caps and 3 goals for Schottia. He has a talent for getting down the right flank overlapping the midfield. Another Handon United player, his exploits for club and country have drawn plaudits in the international media.

3. LB O'Brian, 23, Image King's Park
Darren O'Brian, despite being preferred in the left of midfield for his club King's Park, has made the left back position his own. His attacking style of play provides a balance to the side and complements that of Gondon's. O'Brian is 23 and already has 39 caps and 2 goals. He has played for King's Park all his career making his debut at 16.

4. CB McCann, 30, Image Handon United
John McCann has time after time proven himself to be a stalwart defender. This towering center half is tough tackling, assured in the air, and has a habit of popping up at the right time to head in from set-plays. Vice-captin for Handon United and Schottia, he has 88 caps and 4 goals.

5. CB Okywä, 27, Image Soessch
Chris Okywä has the pace and athleticism to cope with the fastest centre forwards. He is well known for his eccentric style of play, that on occasion, can cause problems. That said he is a firm fan's favourite and an important member of the team. The Soessch defender has 60 caps and 1 goal.

8. CM Donaldson, 32, Image Handon United (c)
Perhaps Handon Utd's best player of all time, Colin Donaldson, despite being 32 has plenty still left in him. The central midfielder can turn defense into attack in the blink of an eye, and has caught the attention of many pundits over the years for his fast feet and accurate passing. Captain for club and country, he has 114 caps and 21 goals, making him Schottia's most capped player ever.

6. CM Corsie, 22, Image Port Sebastian
Gary Corsie has been one of the main reasons for Port Sebastian's domestic success this season. He is another central midfielder, fast, assured on the ball, and quick to support the attack. There has been a great deal of transfer speculation surrounding the youngster, with Puerto Rojo Hammerheads and FC Bolo both reportedly interested. However it is believed that Port Sebastian's 20 million price tag could be a major stumbling block, for any potential bidders.A fantastic young talent, he has 32 caps and 4 goal.

7. AMR Jonathan Bia, 17, Image Port Sebastian
The Dahamy born midfielder, only recieved international clearence to play for Schottia a few weeks ago. The Port Sebastian teenager played and scored in the recent Kloith friendly and is reated very highly by manager Barry Gorman. Bia has bucket-loads of stamina and has shown skills, which have seen him compared to the likes of Avelione. 13 caps and 3 goals.

11. AML Fotan, 22, Image New Belfast Warriors
Jon Fotan, the set piece expert, takes the corners and free-kicks. He is a firm favourate already with New Belfast Warriors and is establishing himself at international level already. What is most impressive about Fotan is perhaps the fact that he is not the quickest of wingers; his skill and precision give him the ability to elude his opponents. Fontan can play wide left or through the middle, just behind the striker. 37 caps 10 goals.

10. SS Avelione, 28, Image Handon United
Only recently returned from a season and a half playing in Thalsyer, the former La Gorla and Wolverines winger is a force to be reckoned with. Looking to get forward where ever possible, Gaston Avelione, can operate on either wing or as a second striker. Recently signed for Handon United in a 7.5 million deal he has 74 caps and 39 goals.

21. Mark Allen, 23, Image FC Hill Valley
The SPL's top goal scorer last season, Allen would be many peoples choice to start up front. He has a deadly combination on pace and power, which helped him win a move from Port Sebastian to FC Hill Valley this summer. Starting the World Cup with only two caps, Allen ended up featuring heavily in the qualifiers scoring some memorable goals. He has now worked his way into the starting line-up and goes into the cup of harmony on 15 caps and 6 goals.

Substitutes

13. GK Gonzaö, 23, Image Port Sebastian
The Port Sebastian keeper Chris Gonzaö has found himself forever in the shadows of first choice D'Arby. Despite this he has an excellent record at club level, and his only international cap saw him keep a clean sheet.

14. DF Daller, 24, Image Marionville
David Daller is a versatile center defender capable of filling in at left-back. The Marionville man is good on the ball, and is an assured passer. He has 8 caps for his country.

15. DF McDonald, 27, Image Soessch
Nathan McDonald is relatively new to the international scene, only recently called up to the squad for the Runner Cup. He has impressed this season with his performances for his club Soessch.

16. RLMF Chris Jack, 22, Image Hollin
The Hollin wide-man Jack is equally apt playing in defence or attack his one and only cap came in a pre tournament friendly against Kloith, where he made a second half appearence. He was used as a substitute during the world cup, earning 7 caps and scoring 1 goal

17. MF Ümann, 18, Image Soessch
The Soessch youngster burst on to the scene in the recent Runner Cup campaign in Ceni scoring on his debut and making four appearances for his side. Till Ümann is an imaginative central midfielder who is able to put his foot on the ball and pass with composure. Ümann has 15 caps and 3 goal.

18. MF Baxter, 30, Image Post Sebastian
Jack Baxter is a stalwart for club and country, and is always in and about the starting line-up with 33 caps and 3 goals The holding midfielder is captain of the title winning Port Sebastian side.

19. ACM Killanen, 20, Image Lammerton
Eoin Killanen has burst onto the seen this season, with his exciting style play. The Lammerton woderkid, has already attracted the attention of some of the bigger clubs. He has scored 6 goals and been capped 26 times.

20. FC Coine, 25, Image Port Sebastian
Paul Coine, despite being the main man for his club Port Sebastian, has never been particularly fancied by National manager Voitle; who normally starts him on the bench. Coine is a quick and dynamic player, lethal in the six yard box. He has 26 caps and 8 goals.

9. FC Schwartz, 26, Image Soessch
Bruno Schwartz is an old fashioned no. 9, center forward, and target man. He is capable of holding the ball up, and is a good outlet for the other forwards. The captain of Soessch has 60 caps and 15 goals.

Formation, Starting XI, and Style

Image

Style Modifier= -2.5

Nova Anglicana is led by three stars: Julian Neal, Newfield FC's outstanding goalkeeper, Giuseppe Carbone, veteran and captain of Bridgewall City FC, and Raphael Baptiste, the dangerous Olympique Sept-Iles striker who led the league in scoring last year. These three are all returning for their second (and likely final) Cup of Harmony, so it would be a real treat to send them off with a playoff appearance or even a deep run.

Responding to criticism that the Lions did not score enough goals in the first half of qualifying en route to a 3-2-2 record, manager Patrick Moran made the switch to a 4-1-4-1 formation for the second half of qualifying. It is still fundamentally defensive (as the 1-4-4-1 was), but allows for stronger midfield play. Salomon Balderas took a seat and Giuseppe Carbone moved into a more traditional central defender role, while still maintaining his defensive tactician role. Cesár Mártinez saw multiple caps at the defensive midfielder position in the second half, and performed fairly well, a poor showing in a friendly against Nassau-Hessen notwithstanding. The 4-1-4-1 prizes slow buildup, especially through the middle, but can make great use of its wingers, so Kyle Fleming and David Pelletier figure to continue to see a lot of action, especially on counterattacks. Moran committed to a more attacking version of the formation by bringing on Bradley Lancaster as the starting fullback in place of Dallas Page. Lancaster is a great attacker and can help overload the right wing with Pelletier, as he showed by consistently pressuring in the Nexxus Drako game, which the Lions won 2-1. Once the Lions grab the lead, the veteran Page can come on to protect the lead. Additionally, the Lions return veteran halfback Devin Osborne, who missed all of qualifying due to a meniscus tear. This addition comes at the expense of young Casey Bowman, who earned his first international cap in the second half of qualifying, entering as a substitute late in the Azrea game. This tactical shift brought more goals and more success for the Lions, as they scored 7 goals and allowed 3 in the second half, as opposed to 4 and 3, respectively. They also improved on their second half record by finishing 4-2-1 down the stretch.

In the BoF 54, the Lions won two of three group stages games for six points, and qualified to the round of 16. However, there, their run came to an end in a defeat against Yttribia on PKs (0-0 AET, 6-5 PK). In the 67th edition of the World Cup, the Lions finished with a record of 6-4-6, good for 22 points and 4th place in their qualfying group. They conceded a mere 13 goals, but were only able to score a paltry 11. They were eliminated in the group stages of the 59th Cup of Harmony, losing a pair of games to two strong teams in Felix and Saintland. In World Cup 68, the Lions were on the verge of advancing to a qualification playoff, but dropped two out of their final three to San José Guayabal and the Licentian Isles, missing out on the playoffs by three points. Nevertheless, a record of 8-1-5 and 25 points was a great achievement, and they hoped to improve upon it. They were unable to do so, finishing 7-4-3 for the same 25 points and in 4th place for the third straight qualification stage. There are rumors that Patrick Moran may be sacked if the team does not have a decent showing in the Cup of Harmony, but only time will tell. For now, the Lions are honored to be invited to the 61st Cup of Harmony and look to score some upsets en route to perhaps actually reaching the knockout stages for the first time in a major tournament.

OOC: Consider this roster a fresh restart, it's the same list from the last WC, but will be updated next time once I get my planned domestic tournament up and running. The RP Line I will be running in the group stage at least will be the continuation of what I wrote in this World Cup, i.e. a court trial based on the bribery scandal of the last Cup of Harmony, where Kazamatsuri's Azai Kanon and Electrum's Jack Hughes allegedly conspired to fix group draws in Electrum's favour. More context to come soon.

Manager: Bucky Freezus
Bucky Freezus has to be considered one of the greatest offensive minds in all of soccer. He is a clear innovator that brings so much to the table for Estope. Following Emanuel Inzer's firing at the end of the qualifying cycle for World Cup 67, Freezus was the clear choice for his replacement. His experience in high school girl's basketball along with his motivational speaking ability were the keys that led to his hiring. With those traits it was impossible for Brian Monte, head of the Estope Soccer Association, to ignore him. He was officially announced in the Eighth Campionato Esportiva but did not officially begin his role until after it finished. In his first year he had some hardships, but that was expected since he does not yet have his players to fit his high paced style of play. Last cycle the team was much improved, finishing second in the group and advancing to the second playoff. With his highly innovative 1-0-9 formation, he will no doubt have Estope competing for a championship in no time. This past cycle was almost he one, as Estope won their group but due to another playoff, a World Cup appearance was narrowly missed.

Assistant Manager: Ed Ogarchetski
Although Coach O has no prior soccer experience, he is great a evaluating talent and yelling at people. Coach O pulled together some of Estope's greatest athletes to be on this team and is an expert in keeping team motivation up.

Head of Estope Soccer Association: Brian Monte
A true innovator, Monte has explored all aspects of social media and fan involvement. Known for his revolutionary contests where fans get to play with the team and catchy hashtags, Monte is constantly pushing the limits and staying one step ahead of the rest of the competition. He considers the hiring of Bucky Freezus to be his greatest achievement. He has many great ideas for this qualification cycle that he hopes will bring greater fan involvement which will lead to great team success.

Team Cosumar - Cup of Harmony 61

Image

Basic Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar

Government: Cosumar is a Fiefdom which means Cosumar is comprised of 21 historical "fiefs" which are now effectively provinces. Cosumar is a constitutional monarchy and believes wholeheartedly in complete civil rights, protecting nature, and exploring outer space.

Region: Atlantian Oceania

Official Nickname: Dragons

Colors: Royal Blue, Silver, White

Stadium: Leviathan Arena (capacity 99,114)

Location: Kaldukosic, Cosumar

Image

History: Cosumar recently completed its 19th World Cup. Cosumar qualified for the 32-team Field for nine consecutive Cups (54-62) but has not qualified since then. Cosumar's best finishes were trips to the Round of 16 in World Cups 56-59, including one quarterfinals appearance. After World Cup 59, Cosumar reached its peak ranking of #7 in the world. Since then however, our national team has endured a significant decline. In WC68, the Dragons once again failed to qualify, but their performance was much improved and they earned a Cup of Harmony berth. They replicated that performance this time, earning a second consecutive CoH invitation. The Dragons also have a proud history in the CoH, including a 3rd-place finish in CoH 45. Though Cosumar may not be the household name it once was, the Dragons are not a team to be taken lightly.

Team: The roster consists of twenty-two players, nineteen of which are human (species homo sapiens sapiens). The remaining three are Vloo (species homo cosumarensis), a humanoid race native to Cosumar. This Cosumarite team features more of an emphasis on surgically-precise passing and technical possession football. Manager Farris Crowley is introducing a new formation (4-2-3-1), moving on from the heavily-criticized 4-2-4 that struggled to retain possession in WC68.

Style Modifier: +2

More About Vloo: Please note that the Vloo, though not human, have no considerable physical advantage over human players. Minor differences are that the Vloo are slightly taller on average and must wear different cleats due to their unique foot structure. Vloo are nearly equal roughly equivalent to humans in terms of strength and speed, but have a blue taint to their skin and two small, dull horns on the top of their head. Most Vloo's horns are mostly covered by their thick, black hair.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

The Starting XI

Goalkeeper - Tomi KOSKINEN (31)
Tomi Koskinen has served Cosumar so well for so long that it seems like an eternity ago that someone else defended the Dragons' net. But alas, it was about 15 years ago that Koskinen emerged as one of the best young stars in Cosumar. At only 16 years old, he dominated Cosumar's collegiate league by allowing an average of 0.4 goals per game. At age 18, he shocked pundits by locking up the starting spot on the Cosumarite National Team. He hasn't looked back - serving as an anchor of consistency in the back for the Dragons for over a decade and several World Cups. Still in his prime, Koskinen is known for his exceptional instincts and reflexes, often denying goals with extraordinary feats of athleticism and anticipation. He currently plays his club football with Ramusok United, the defending Harlighet Ligan champions in Cosumar.

Left Back - Jukka LINDROOS (21)
Lindroos is the latest Cosumarite youngster to be hyped by the media as a key piece of the team's future. Last year, he completed his second season at collegiate soccer powerhouse Slivelle Academy, leading them a Runners-up finish. He then signed his first professional contract with the Serpents of Harlighet Ligan 3 months ago. Though he has performed well in his limited appearances with the club, some were surprised Farris Crowley included him in the Starting XI due to his youth and relative lack of top-level experience. His boyish face and long, golden locks have charmed the media, but do not be fooled, he is a ruthless player on the field. He may not be as seasoned as his elders on the team yet, but he is extremely skilled and brings a jolt of energy whenever he steps on the field. WC 69 was a valuable learning experience for him, as he got his first taste of the best the world has to offer. Surprisingly, he was the Dragons' most consistent player defender. He proved his mettle and will look to further cement these impressions with a strong CoH performance.

Center Back - Kirum MORTONSSON (26)
Dashing model/footballer Mortonsson recently completed his second season with Harlighet Ligan defending champions Ramusok United. He and teammate Tomi Koskinen were part of a formiddable defensive machine that shut down even the league's top attacking teams. Manager Farris Crowley is hoping that pairing the two on the National Team will achieve similar success. WC 69 was Mortonsson's third World Cup, but his first as starting Center Back. He turned in a decent string of performances, though he got exposed against elite squads like The Archregimancy and Farfadillis. Though his biggest fans are often teenage girls (and as such, he is jokingly heckled by the sports media), he is supremely athletic and finds ways to make big stops when the team needs it the most. He can be hotheaded at times and make poor decisions resulting in yellow or red cards.

Center Back - Abdiel ASSAD (31)
Hailing from a poverty-stricken community in the rugged, mountainous land of southeast Cosumar (where soccer is practically nonexistent), Assad defied all odds to emerge as one of Cosumar's finest defenders and has helped expand the sport to this region, which traditionally disavows competitive sport. Eight years ago, he had a breakout season with Eastweald to help them recapture their former glory and qualify for the TakilQuip Champions Cup. He has remained with Eastweald ever since, showing loyalty to his club - something of a rarity these days. He has since established himself as one of the Harlighet Ligan's most prominent stars, and is known as a true "nice guy" and class act. Assad is not exceptional at any one thing, but has no real weakness either - a reliable jack-of-all-trades. He is also the first man of Arab descent to play on the Cosumarite national team.

Right Back - Tae Woo MIYORI (29)
Miyori possesses great speed, quickness and ability to play both sides of the ball. He is also known as a phenomenal passer. Miyori had a spectacular debut as a youngster in World Cup 67, and fully embraced the limelight in World Cups 68 and 69. Truly in his prime, he is considered by many to be the heir to the likes of William Riley and Alexander Pearce as "the next great Cosumarite defenseman". Miyori plays his club football with Klyde FC, guiding the Blues to a 2nd place finish in the Harlighet Ligan, their highest ever. In the Cup of Harmony, he will drift quite far forward at times and be utilized as part of the attack (he scored a goal in WC69 qualifying), whereas Lindroos will stay back.

Defensive Midfielder - Dean Harold MCSAUNDERS (27)
Once an obscure reserve for a few obscure teams, McSaunders rose up out of nowhere three years ago without breakout performances in the Harlighet Ligan for Kaldukosk FC after several of their midfielders went down injured and they loaned him out of desperation. It became a viral story in Cosumar: the story of the relatively unknown player exploding into fame out of seemingly nowhere. Since his ascension, McSaunders has maintained his great play as a consistent starter with Centus FC, earning recognition as one of the Realm's best midfielders in this generation. He can play any midfield position (he was a substitute as Center Attacking Midfielder in WC68), though he fits best as a Defensive Midfielder in this new 4-2-3-1 regime. Despite lackluster speed/strength, and average ball skills, McSaunders is simply a winner, frequently finding creative ways to outwit and outmaneuver supposedly "superior" opponents. He just has some sort of unidentifiable "it" factor, and Farris Crowley is hoping that will be enough for him to hold his own against the World's top talent.

Defensive Midfielder - Vareza NA'NONI (24)
The sole Vloo member of the Starting XI, Na'Noni can play almost any field position due to his ability to read the game, strong ball skills, and imposing physique (tall, muscular, fast). He made a name for himself as a Right Back for Cosumar's U-21 team, which catapulted him into the Harlighet Ligan, where he converted to midfielder with FC Samotath. Manager Crowley has elected to play him as a defensive midfielder because he and McSaunders compliment each other well there. Na'Noni is known for his tattoos, including a detailed patterns of constellations across his arms, a roaring dragon on his neck, and an elaborate sunset on his forehead. This was Na'Noni's first World Cup campaign and he exceeded expectations with his play, even scoring one goal.

Left Attacking Midfielder - Anders ENGSTRÖM (22)
A young prospect who has spent the last few years being groomed to replace aging forwards Andsman-Savage and Simmons. That time is now here. However, with the switch from 4-2-4 to 4-2-3-1, Engström is being plugged in at attacking midfielder rather than forward. Farris Crowley is still confident that Engström will be Cosumar's Center Forward and top goal scorer in the future, once Sur Arora is too old. He led Stoneshore College to a collegiate championship two years ago and then signed a big fat paycheck with Mallox FC, where he shined as their leading goal scorer last season. A precise deliverer in set-pieces and from the flanks, Engström will be instrumental in setting up Cosumar for goal-scoring chances. Oh yeah, and he's a pretty damn good goal-scorer himself as a natural forward. That was on display several times throughout WC69 qualifying, during which he racked up seven goals.

Center Attacking Midfielder - Paaron PETROV (29)
A citizen-by-birth of Fevelo that plays in the Fevelian domestic system, Petrov is eligible for Cosumar Soccer because he was born to Cosumarite parents. Though he plays in a vastly inferior league, Paaron Petrov absolutely dominated in Fevelo even at the young age of 21. He has turned down big money from more reputable clubs around the world to stay near his family and friends in Fevelo. In World Cup 68, he was able to bypass several top Cosumarite midfielders to make the squad of the National Team, even stealing the starting spot of longtime staple Giovanni Aldinne. Though his selection was heavily criticized at the time, Petrov made Crowley look awfully smart when he blossomed one of the Dragons' most consistent players. Feisty and resourceful, and a devastatingly accurate passer, Petrov is an asset when it comes to setting up the big play. He is also a threat to score from long distances, as he gets great movement on the ball and is able to keep it down. Petrov is a formidable box-to-box midfielder who is a ruthless tackler. He had a fantastic qualifying campaign, netting six goals and six assists

Right Attacking Midfielder - Francois RENAULT (32) (CAPTAIN)
Renault debuted in the FSF eight seasons ago with Cassandra City, which has made a few Globe Cup appearances in large part due to him. He recently announced he has played his final season with Cassandra City, and will be looking to sign overseas for a "new challenge" after this WC. Renault, along with his cousin Giovanni Aldinne, was a much-hyped young prospect that headlined Cosumar's World Cup 67 and 68 generations. He was a vital part of the Dragons' campaigns in those two World Cups, and was the second-leading goal scorer behind only Sur Arora in WC68 Qualifying and CoH 60. Though he has struggled with aging and some injuries in the years since, Renault is still a valuable veteran presence and team leader for Cosumar. He's not as fast as he used to be, but he's still savvy around the goal and has enough left in the tank for one last CoH as a starter. Renault was known for his lethal combination of speed and brute strength, but with age he's had to replace his speed with creativity and technique. His performance in World Cup 69 qualifying was a bit underwhelming at times, only scoring two goals, though he had seven assists. With the usual captain Sur Arora injured for this tournament, Renault will take up the honor.

Center Forward - Sergio VILAR (25)
Vilar was a breakout star this season for FSF Harlighet Ligan club Olask Islanders. The Islanders had been on the brink of relegation for several seasons running, but an exceptional 30-goal season from Vilar rocketed them to the top half of the table for the first time in almost three decades. Though Sur Arora is clearly still the King when it comes to Cosumarite goal-scorers, the Dragons' World Cup 69 Team Captain broke his leg in the first match of the playoff against Farfadillis. Because Arora is still unable to play, Vilar will slide up to starting forward after doing a solid albeit brief job replacing Arora against Farfadillis. Though Vilar is inexperienced, he clearly has a ton of skill (the ball is basically tied to his sock!) and is passionate about the game - a man possessed on the pitch. This Cup of Harmony, his first real opportunity in the Starting XI, will be a huge step in his learning curve. If he impresses Farris Crowley with his play here, he could lock up the starting center forward position for World Cup 70.

The Substitutes

Goalkeepers

Blinne VA'TUARAS (36)
Va'Tuaras is one of Cosumar's most iconic goalkeepers: his enormous frame, trademark mohawk hairstyle and wild antics earn him fan-favorite status. But underneath the flamboyance, Va'Taurus is a fine goalkeeper and has led Klyde FC to multiple Globe Cups. He has great instincts and is a tested veteran backup in the event that the more talented Koskinen suffers an injury. He is the second of three Vloo footballers on the team.

Defenders

Jon-Perohlin NODTVEIT (26)
If there was ever an enigmatic and controversial footballer, it's Nodtveit. He is bald-headed but bears a thick black beard. Off the pitch he is almost always gruff and silent, hardly uttering more than a word or two in interviews. He is known to be a member of the Luciferian Satanist Order and was a suspect in a well-publicized murder case three years ago (though he was ultimately found innocent due to lack of evidence). Some despise him, but even more Cosumarites love his dark & dangerous allure. Though divisive off the pitch, he is universally recognized for his value on the pitch. When the match begins, everyone watching him forgets all that other stuff about him - that's how good he is. Nodtveit is the Dragons' "hard man", a defensive enforcer and ruthless tackler. Though he is not particularly skilled with the ball or particularly fast, he plays his role well. He will substitute in as a center back frequently.

Endyl PARU (35)
Endyl Paru has performed at a consistently high level both domestically and internationally for almost fifteen years. He recently completed his second World Cup as a reserve for Cosumar and fourth overall. Paru is an intimidating figure at nearly 6"4, with an iron leg and a knack for timing his challenges perfectly. His ever-present trademark yellow headband has become iconic in Cosumar, but he isn't just for show. Paru is one of Atlantian Oceania's most accomplished defensemen and has been for several years. Though his prime is in the rear-view mirror, he can still be counted on to bolster the back line for shorter stretches of time as a substitute, and his value as a vocal leader and mentor is immeasurable. Nowadays, he prefers to play Center Back.

Alexander PEARCE (34)
Pearce has been traveling with the Cosumar National Team in a variety of positions since age 18. Pearce captained the squad for World Cups 67 and 68, as well as CoH 60. He was hailed as the figurehead of those campaigns and is considered one of the best Cosumarite defensemen in history. With multiple World Cups under his belt and a highly developed skill set, Pearce is one of the most vital leaders of this team even though he is no longer Captain. Though age has begun to bite him in the last few years, Pearce will still play an invaluable role as a team mentor and spokesperson (and occasional substitute, whenever stability and experience are needed). He has an exceptionally strong leg and is an extremely crafty player who frequently outwits his opponents. He still has the versatility to play anywhere on the back line.

Sheldon SERRA (19)
Serra has the distinction of being born and living the first eight years of his life on a spaceship of neutral nationality. After returning to the planet, Serra found his land legs surprisingly quickly and discovered a natural talent for football. Serra attended university in Cosumar and is eligible for our team because his mother was a Cosumarite citizen. He was the Defensive MVP of Cosumar's collegiate league a year ago, leading Ramusok Capital University to the semifinals as Captain. Though small in stature, this shaggy blonde teenager has incredibly rare natural ability. With experience and hard work, he could be a star at any position in the future. In WC69, he primarily played as a left or right back and even scored his first international goal. Due to his speed and ability to play both sides of the ball, he is the a great fit as a substitute for the unique skill set of Tae Woo Miyori at right back. He made big waves in the transfer market by signing a five-year deal with Zenit Attawapiskat of The Royal Kingdom of Quebec after Qualifying ended.

Midfielders

Giovanni ALDINNE (33)
Aldinne debuted in the FSF nine seasons ago with up-and-coming club Real Azuris, which nearly reached the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Aldinne, like his cousin Francois Renault, was a much-hyped young prospect that has met all expectations and helped spearhead that generation of Cosumarite footballers, helping lead the nation into something of a Renaissance in the sport. He was shockingly dropped from the starting line-up in World Cup 68, but handled the situation with dignity and was an impact substitute. World Cup 69 proved he still has what it takes to compete at this level, albeit for limited periods of time. Aldinne is noted for his extraordinary intelligence (maximum score on a soccer IQ test) and speed. He brings invaluable experience to the Dragons' midfield and will share playing time with Petrov as the center attacking midfielder. He can also play as a defensive midfielder if needed.

Thomas TEVERRIDGE (33)
Teverridge is the leading assist man and longtime field general for Cosumar's Samaj FC, and has perpetually been a vastly underrated player due to his humble demeanor and tenure with a club in a remote area of Cosumar. However, Teverridge has quietly been one of the most productive players in the upper flight of the FSF for years and finally began to reap the rewards of his hard work in World Cup 68, which was his first World Cup after being excluded from the team at the last minute in the previous two. Teverridge loves to snake his way through opposing defenses and is a sly player, with a knack for breaking through creases and getting open looks (or passes) out of nowhere. He is also a set-piece specialist. In World Cup 68, one of the highlights of Qualifying was his beautiful arching goal on a corner kick. He scored one goal in World Cup 69 qualifying. When/if he subs in, it will likely be for Renault as a right-side attacking midfielder.

Ole ÖHMAN (22)
Though his surname is a bit comical (Oh man... it's Öhman!), Ole is a well-known around Cosumar as the flashy young attack-minded midfielder for recently promoted Sekundar Ligan side Treftadaeth Alliance. Producing goals is what he does, and he does it well. WC69 Qualifying was his first time to don the Cosumarite senior team colors, after his well-publicized success as Captain of the Dragons' U-18 team four years ago. Many were concerned that he would be snubbed due to his strained relationship with his club manager Truda Jotunnoj, who also happens to be the National Team's assistant manager. However, all bad blood has apparently been put aside in the name of the Glorious Realm. Öhman will primarily sub in as an attacking midfielder on the left side. His only downside is his lack of elite speed, which Noldor, Arora and Renault have in spades.

Eido NOLDOR (23)
WC69 was Noldor's first World Cup. He was something of a surprising selection because many anticipated the spot being filled by Addam Andsman-Savage, the 34-year old World Cup veteran. However, Farris Crowley opted for youth over experience for his final midfielder substitute. Noldor was an unheralded prospect coming out of the collegiate league from a small school. But in just three seasons in the FSF he has steadily improved his game and developed into one of the brightest young prospects for Cosumar. He is currently with Sekundar Ligan side Pelethas United, which is being promoted to the top flight next season. However, rumor has it that he is looking for an overseas club home in a more prominent league. He did not play much in WC69, but when he did he showed flashes of brilliance (even scoring a goal), so is likely to get much more playing time here.

Forwards

Ejegefe NA'SAFEH (31)
Ejegefe Na'Safeh (pronounced: Eh-hey-eff-eh, Na-Sah-Fay) is a Vloo (the third Vloo on the team) football phenomenon from the remote Na'Malsille Isles (territory of Cosumar). Na'Safeh was a young benchwarmer who seldom played in WC 66. He was at times magnificent and at times painfully sloppy but was kept around for his potential. But in WC 67 he proved that he was finally deserving of a starting spot, alleviating concerns about his consistency and scoring the second-most goals of the team's campaign. However, he had a bit of a dud campaign in World Cup 68 and did not make much of impact, eventually losing the starting job to a 36-year-old Corey Simmons halfway through Qualifying. World Cup 69 was supposed to be his shot at redemption, but besides scoring a goal in the second matchday, he did not have much of a chance to shine. With Sur Arora injured, he figures to be a frequent impact sub in the Cup of Harmony, especially of Vilar does not perform up to par.

Bruce SANCHEZ (22)
Young Mr. Sanchez will get his first international cap in this Cup of Harmony, thanks to Sur Arora's gruesome injury at the end of Qualifying. Bruce has a ton of potential, but has not yet realized it. He is a firey player with more than his fair share of natural skill and athleticism, but he relies too heavily on these things. He has not learned the finer points of the game and is not a great team player at this point in his career. He'll pull off some of the most brilliant goals you've ever seen, but he also takes way too many bad shots and you'll hardly ever hear an announcer praising him for a great assist. When a jolt of energy and flair is needed to shake up the game and make something happen, he could be a strategic substitute, but don't count on Farris Crowley giving him extended playing time until he displays improvement in the aforementioned areas. Though he has been a fantastic player for Cassandra City in Cosumar, many think he needs to go overseas to be coached into becoming the player he could be.

Staff

Manager: Farris Crowley
After a phenomenal debut as Manager in World Cup 54, and an even more impressive efforts in World Cups 56-59, Farris Crowley will return to lead the Dragons towards greatness once again in Cup of Harmony 61. The seemingly immortal manager was once a somewhat successful player in Cosumar's domestic league many years ago and has since taken to coaching. His goal is absolute: win a World Cup. He is currently 72 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time. Despite being the one who took Cosumar to new heights and qualified us for nine consecutive World Cups, there is a rumor that he is on the hot seat due to the unsettlingly early exits in the last few World Cups. And with his health starting to finally show signs of deteoration, pundits are questioning his capacity to lead the team for much longer. Team Captain Francois Renault and others have expressed their desire to win a medal in this COH for their beloved longtime coach.

Assistant Manager: Irvinn Rincon
Rincon, who is also the Midfielders Coach, will temporarily serve as Assistant Manager because usual A.M. Truda Jotunnoj has departed for The Kytler Peninsulae to manage the Cosumarite Olympic Team. Rincon is one of Cosumar's three current members of the World Cup Hall of Fame due to his renowned tenure as Cosumar's Team Captain and best player in our first World Cups (WCs 51-56).

Goalkeepers Coach: Luis Varezzi

Defenders Coach: Artis Thomas

Midfielders Coach: Irvinn Rincon

Forwards Coach: Guiseke Seto

Head Trainer: Yvette Carson

Kit

Image

Cosumar's uniforms for Cup of Harmony 61, made for the team by Barrengeka Kits of Astograth. The uniform has been applauded by fans and the media, as it features Cosumar's national colors as well as the Cosumarite Azure Dragon, the symbol of Cosumar. The keeper's uniform is gold and green, the royal family's colors. They are the same kits the team used in World Cups 56-69. Rumor has it that this will be the last international competition in which these kits will be seen, as new ones are said to be in development.

Head Coach

Ernesto Farías
Veteran former international striker who formed a key part of Sargossa’s very first national squad. Farías has held numerous roles within the international structure, including two caretaker spells in charge of the senior side. Most recently manager of SuperLiga side Ciudad Soluca before replacing Iarlaith Mag Aonghusa at the Corsairs’ helm after World Cup 67.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Elías Carrasco
Defensive Coach: Germán Moya
Attacking Coach: Rubén Contreras
Goalkeeping Coach: Silvio Romero
Fitness Coach: Sergio Castellanos
Technical Coordinator: Alejandro Echeverría
Team Doctor: Dr Iván Morelli

Talent

GK: 1. Ezequiel Medrán (34) – Sporting San Marquez
Long ago picked out by former national coach Martín Tejera, who knew a thing or two about goalkeeping, as one to watch. Formally undisputed first choice in the Sargossan goal.
GK: 13. Armando Abad (28) – Dínamo Maturín
Talented shot stopper who seems to have forced his way ahead of the veteran Medrán in the national setup. Reads the game well and is quick off his line, a key talent in Farías’ attack-minded strategy.
GK: 25. Emilio León (23) – Sportivo Soluca
A regular in the Sportivo goal at the age of just 19, big things are expected of the young shot stopper.

DR: 2. Cristiano Damían (26) – Dínamo Maturín
Back in the SuperLiga fold after a productive spell in Astograth, the former Ciudad Soluca trainee has found his feet quickly at his new club. A fallback by trade but pushed further forward in the coach’s new look formation.
DRC: 5. Guillermo Lucena (23) – Ciudad Soluca
A favourite of Farías after serving him well in the Under-21 team, the Olympic Squad and at Ciudad. A solid defender with an excellent reading of the game. Equally adept at centreback or fallback.
DC: 6. Matías Sosa (32) – Liria Prizren (Mytannion)
A free scoring centreback whose temperament has been known to get him in a spot of bother. So he probably feels right at home in Mytannion. Despite that slight flaw he captains the national side.
DL: 3. Mauricio Abeyta (25) – Alianza Jucaro
A buccaneering fallback who clearly longs to be a winger. An attacking threat down the left with a powerful shot and accurate cross. Unfortunately his defensive duties are sometimes forgotten.
DLC: 12. Dacio Sanz (25) – Dínamo Maturín
Quick and highly capable when his mind’s on the game but prone to the occasional catastrophic loss of concentration.
DRC: 14. Cristón Espinal (24) – El Nacional
A rightback by trade but often pressed into service in the centre of defensive during an injury crisis in Goza last season. Another former member of Farías’ Olympic Squad.
DLC: 19. Jonás Jacinto (26) – Ciudad Soluca
Made a surprise move from Segunda Liga side Motril to capital city giants Ciudad and hasn’t looked back. Adds a nice balance to Farías new three man defence.
DC: 21: Aurelio Pascual (29) – Sportivo Cordova
Only a dearth of strong centrebacks has kept Pascual out of national team reckoning for this long. But after strong domestic season has finally seen the Cordova man force his way into the squad.

MC: 4. Eduardo Zacarías (22) – Sporting San Marquez
A midfielder with tremendous lung capacity. His box-to-box runs were a key part of Dunas Del Sol’s excellent domestic campaign. Another who has completed a new season move to the Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado.
AMR: 7. Javier Jerez (33) – Sporting San Marquez
A tricky winger with plenty of technique but a willowy frame that struggles to compete with the game’s more physical practitioners. But still the best supply of crosses in the squad.
MC: 8. Rodrigo Defederico (33) – Dunas Del Sol
A talented midfielder who once had every Sargossan club of stature fighting over his signature before turning down the likes of Sporting San Marquez and Ciudad Soluca to make the move to Astograth. Now back at his first club.
AML: 11. Federico Cifuentés (23) – Dínamo Maturín
It’s entirely possible that Federico could have represented Sargossa at the Olympic 100m, such is the pace hidden away in his diminutive frame. A real terror for opposition fallbacks, although a consistent delivery shy of being genuinely world class.
AMRC: 15. Flavio Freitas (25) – El Nacional
A tireless attacking midfielder whose impressive work rate and never say die attitude make him a firm favourite among Gozans and neutrals alike.
MC: 16. Germán Sauseda (24) – Ciudad Soluca
Midfield playmaker with a prestigious range of passing. Sauseda stood out in a fairly average Porto Alegro Azul side that consistently punched above its weight. Brought to Ciudad by Farías during his spell in charge.
DMC: 18. Mateo Olmedo (24) – Alianza Jucaro
The latest in a long line of talented midfielder anchor-men produced by our mighty archipelago. Prone to nosebleeds if he crosses the halfway line.
DMC: 22. Matías Escobar (31) – Marinos Metropolis (Valladares)
An old fashioned midfield destroyer who can run all day without breaking a sweat. Consistently good performances in the Liga De Fuego led to a move abroad.
AMLC: 24. Ivan Ávila (32) – Ciudad Soluca
A regular understudy for the great Alejandro Echeverría at the Estadio Generalissmo Joaquín Delgado and with the national side. He may have cleared thirty but that ability to thread the ball through the eye of a needle hasn’t faded.

FC: 9. Federico Ferreyra (32) – El Nacional
A penalty area predator who made his name for little Nuevo Onwere before making the move to Astograth. Enjoyed spells at both Gortz Utd and Urbizania Wanderers before being snapped up by the Gozan giants.
FC: 10. Stefano Bustos (27) – Sportivo Soluca
At 6’4” the Sportivo targetman is a real threat in the air and adds the perfect option if ‘hoof it to the big fella’ is required.
FC: 17. Federico Noyola (24) – Sporting San Marquez
Yet another gem unearthed from the barrios of San Marquez and polished by ‘El Academia’. Has an uncanny knack of being in the right place and the right time and has proved a scourge of SuperLiga defences because of it. A natural successor to Ferreyra.
FRC: 20. Saturnín Quinteros (26) – Ciudad Soluca
Big things were expected of a forward who caught the attention with a seventy four goal season for one of Ciudad’s many youth teams. Often used as an attacking midfielder at club level by Farías so more of the same could be expected.
FL: 23. Enzo Jara (21) – Sportivo Soluca
An out-and-out winger who offers pure pace down the flank. Capable of tying opposition defenders up in knots but often lacking composure in the final third.

Style
A high pressing and attacking 3-4-3. Probable starting eleven. Further info can be found here.

The Icemark National Football Squad

Image

Official Nation Name: The Kingdom of the Icemark
Country Code: ICM
Colours: Blue & White
International Record: P 154 W 70 D 26 L 58

Formation & Tactics

The Icemark opt for a basic 4-4-2 formation with the defence playing a high line, one midfielder playing a reserved holding role and one bursting forward. The wingers are encouraged to get forward as often as possible with the fullbacks overlapping them. They opt for a little and large duo upfront with one dominating the aerial balls and the other handling the technical work.

Image

Roster

Manager/Coach: Erik Erikson (Age: 40 Pevious Jobs: Frostmarris)
There was only ever going to be one candidate worthy of the honour of the national coach of the Icemark. The committee voted unanimously in favour of Erik Erikson getting the job. Out of all the candidates on the list he's record stood taller than any other. Leading Frostmassis to the league championship , before victory in the play-off series.

GK Halvor Sigurdson (Age: 30, Club: Old Haven, International Clean Sheets: 0)
Halvor Sigurdson is a safe pair of hands and is a competent shot-stopper, has good agility and is solid at handling. He has fantastic reflexes and seems like most good goalkeepers to be improving with age.

RB Lokri Lindstorm (Age: 27, Club:Inglesby, International Goals: 0)
Lokri Lindstorm is a attacking full back that will often get forward to support the attackers. This does leave a lot of space at the back but he normally has enough pace to make it back in time.

CB Oswald Brerton(Age: 29, Club: Bolby, International Goals: 0)
Oswald Brerton is a blunt old-fashioned defender that strikes fear into attackers with his aggressive and sometimes brutal tackling. The most likely player to be sent off, he is well known for getting into confrontations with referees and spectators alike. He lacks any pace so can be got at by quicker opponents. However he is very loud on the pitch and Marshals the defence well.

CB Baldur Ireton (Age: 28, Club: Barrowby , International Goals: 0)
Baldur Iretonreads the game very well, is a precision tackler and good marker. He is speedier than his defensive partner, which means sometimes he has to recover for his slowness and get him out a hole. He is not without his flaws though as he lacks the strength of his partner and is not great at dealing with crosses.

LB Dag Theogard (Age: 32, Club: Michael's Bay, International Goals: 0)
Dag Theogard is a solid if unexciting full back that does his job but rarely supports the left winger in getting forward. His small stature for a defender means he is often brushed off the ball too easily. He is the weak link in the defence but has a good heart.

RM Drakon Stagapoulous (Age: 26, Club: Bendis, International Goals: 0)
Drakon Stagapoulous serves the team as a large pacey right winger, who can leave anyone for dead with his strength and speed that terrifies defenders. However he lacks any accuracy in his crossing and shooting making him less than the all-round winger he aims to become.

CM Gostav Thorson (Age: 25, Club: Frostmarris , International Goals: 0)
Gostav Thorson is the workhorse of the team. A determined player who makes up for what he lacks in skill with his tireless passion. He will mostly opt for simple passes and won’t overplay. Defensively though He excels at tackling and intercepting passes. He is excellent at protecting both the back four, and the attackers know they are well shielded when they go forward.

CM Finn Jorgenson (Age: 24, Club: Learton, International Goals: 0)
Finn Jorgenson is a possession footballer with great vision and long range passing ability. He produces fantastic bursting runs forward, is difficult to brush off the ball and has a drilling strike.

LM Kallias Erresos (Age: 21, Club: Bendis, International Goals: 0)
Kallias Erresos is a pacey winger that excels in counter-attack situations. He has a wicked left foot that makes him either a threat when striking or crossing the ball. He is also a Free-kick specialist that can put a deadly spin on the ball.

ST Markos Celeste(Age: 23, Club: Bendis, International Goals: 0)
Whilst not being the most creative and technically gifted player in the team Markos Celeste is big and physical, can hold the ball up better than anyone, and is ferocious in the air. Scored plenty of goals for Bendis this season and is the focal point of the attack.

ST Kol Lindenshield (Age: 17, Club: Frostmarris, International Goals: 0)
Kol Lindenshield is one of the most exciting prospect that The Icemark has. Sometimes he has to wait for his opportunity to come but when it does there is no one more reliable than him to take it and convert it. He is in some way the talisman of the team. He is the most clinical finisher and has the added bonus of being good in the air. He can sometimes disappear when the going gets tough but can always be relied on to pop up in the right place when needed.

Player Roles

Captain: Halvor Sigurdson
Free-Kicks: Kallias Erresos
Corner Kicks: Kallias Erresos
Penalty Kicks: Kol Lindenshield

Kit

The Icemark play in their traditional blue and white colours. The Kit is releatively simple in design with the national snow leopard emblem in the top right corner. The Kit was supplied by Kirola Sports in Audioslavia.

QPeMA Squad World Cup 69 Cup of Harmony 61

Image

Nickname: “The Footballing Time Jumping Pirates” or something that more readily slides off the tongue like “The B*stard Squad”

First Team Coach: Anderson Rodriguez (57). Rodriguez has never tasted the big time, he once had trials at Redfern And Bridges when he was 19, but was never truly good enough to play football professionally, or semi-professionally for that matter. He played Sunday league for a hatful of different teams before retiring aged 30. He since managed Northern division B side Mountford Rangers for 20+ years and became known for his aggressive style on the touchline, receiving bans for numerous incidents, including head-butting the opposition’s physio.

Assistant: Theodore “Teddy” Francis (44). Teddy, nicknamed for his hairy, almost bear like appearance was Rodriguez assistant at Mountford. The 6ft 6inch behemoth is generally very amiable and placid and is usually the foil to Rodriguez volatile temperament, however should he feel he his team has been wronged he can and will fly into an awe-inspiring rage.

Physiotherapist: Raymond Rudd (35). Raymond is a damned good physio, and so he should be, he inflicted a great deal of injuries during his own playing career, playing down the league pyramid for the likes of Sunshine Village and Renato Albion.

Goalkeeper: #1 Esteban Vicente (29) Port Los Renato. Esteban was known as a good shot stopper with decent reflexes, but was better known for his gambling problem. Having gotten in big with some bad men, the PLR keeper was soon taking brides and match fixing. By time travelling into the future, his 20 year ban from all football activity is pretty much void.

Right Back: #2 Umit Yilmaz (21) Augustus. Augustus have a habit of churning out success stories, but this particularly gifted wingback wasn’t one of them. The tear away defender was a good wingback, but wasn’t happy with his lot in life and got in with a street gang, one thing led to another and after being caught on CCTV mugging an elderly woman, the 21 year old said goodbye to his football career and hello to some jail time.

Left Back: #3 Jonathan Lieberman (30) Hunslet Wanderers. Jonathan “Bruiser” Lieberman wasn’t a bad footballer, just a dirty footballer. The left back played over 200 games for Hunslet in 10 years, missing dozens through suspensions.

Centre Back: #6 Willard Ramsey (28) MS Leighton. Affray, assault, perjury, Willard was a wrong ‘un. Except, on a technicality the centre back was acquitted and never served any jail time. He was however released from his contract at MS Leighton and moved overseas to play in the minor leagues.

Defensive Mid: #4 Ignasi Etxeberria (31) Ajax Khaldoon II. When Ajax were still a League II side Etxeberria played at the heart of their midfield. A defensive minded player who could break up an attack with a sixth sense for spotting danger from a mile away, the only problem was, his method of breaking up the play, with a leaping tackle or a swinging elbow.

Defensive Mid: #5 Nadir Slimani (19) Roehampton. The Queer Poco Central Division 2 young player of the year had a slight problem controlling his temper, in his two seasons with the club Slimani was sent off 4 times and sent home from training after a bust up with the club’s manager. His foul temper rather than his footballing ability was the main reason Nadir had failed to make it professional after being dumped by the Pythons youth set up.

Central Midfield: #10 Giovanni Van Dyke (25) 1860 Flumineiro. At the height of his ability Giovanni was equally as good as his famous younger brother, but a problem with narcotics saw him suspended and his career stall. At 25, he had only begun dabbling but was extra intense on the field while playing for Pocoan Premier League side 1860.

Right Wing: #7 Gonzalo Alves (27) Alsop Town. Gonzalo was released from his contract with Valengren Kickers after testing positive for half a dozen different steroids and enhancers. Sadly, the talented winger didn't need them and blew his career.

Left Wing: #11 Ken Anyon (21) Ridgemont Town. Quick, agile and a very good crosser, it's just a shame he's an outspoken tosspot. In his brief career he has managed to upset the Catholic church, gay rights advocates, the national football team, other celebrities and even his own family.

Central Midfield: #8 James Carr (28) Belle-Isle On Sea. Midfielder Carr is the most white collar of our villains elect, having swindled thousands from a charity he set up for children with chronic asthma. Decent midfielder, handy from a dead ball.

Centre Forward: #9 Prince Saladin Bakhiri (18) Royal Khaldoon. The prima donna striker was a fully fledged member of the Pocoan royal family and the first to play football professionally. Using his connections at the club more than his ability, the striker, who showed some promise never really fulfilled his potential and continued to whinge, even when he was included in the QPeMA Di Bradini Cup squad.

SUBS

Right Back: #12 Liam Gleeson (17) Valengren Kickers. Gleason is a pyromaniac....

Goalkeeper: #13 Mesut Kowalski (40) MS Leighton. Sex and drugs and rock and roll were three things Mesut steered clear of during his long career, so what makes him such a bad man? Well, his hardcore Christian upbringing makes him kind of a downer, constantly preaching “thou shalt not, do unto others etcetera.” Which, for those of us who follow a more secular path, it makes him the biggest bastard of them all, telling us how to live our life, based on some ancient book.

Central Mid: #14 Lester Teagues (22) Hunslet Wanderers. Lester was a talented young man, could have probably made it at a team at the lower end of the Una Serie, but he fell in with a bad crowd... that crowd being a bunch of white supremacists. His team decided to sever all ties with the midfielder after he was pictured at several rallies.

Central Defence: #15 Raymondo Arturo Salazar Vega (31) Lingwell Rangers. Playing in the Northern second division means Raymondo wasn’t particularly well paid. Being a big lad he earned some extra money working on the side as the muscle for a local loan shark. He was a relatively good centreback who had two decent feet, that he used during the week to kick lumps out of people.

Winger: #16 Dax Blackwood (29) Allied Motor Trade. If you were a fan of the Pocoan lower divisions, you maybe heard of Dax. He was a talented winger who could play with either foot, the only problem was his bouts of psychotic rage. Suspended for 2 years for putting an opposition defender in a chokehold he eventually got his comeuppance when he thought he’d try his luck at UFC.....

Centre Forward: #17 Vijay Kandakram (22) Skyte City. A legit international footballer. Kandakram has played in and.. potentially scored at the world cup (maybe). Burst onto the scene playing for Skyte City and then for Atletico Jutense in Cafundeu, before the pressure got too much for him and he sloped off to join a cult overseas. It all got a little wacky and convoluted from there and there never quite seemed to be an end to the story....

Here is the Gregoryisgoidstan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Coach: Retired Soldier Commander Lieutenant Warlord McBurgerKing (Age 40, 9/11/1973) Former midfielder for the national team in WC 66 and WC 67.

Note: All birthdays listed in the "Gregorian Calendar", which Lord Almighty Gregory claims to have invented, hence it bears his name. But it is just the regular Gregorian calendar, with certain changes (read on for more.) All dates are MM/DD/YYYY. Note that in Gregoryisgodistan, the year changes on June 1, rather than January 1, so January 1, 2013 follows December 31, 2013, and is equivalent to January 1, 2014 in other calendars.
As of World Cup 69, the Gregoryisgodistani Year is the same as the standard year (2014) but any birthdates between January 1 and May 31 will be a year later in the standard calendar than they are listed.

Gregoryisgodistani names have the title first, which is usually whatever job they have. Then comes either the government ID sequence (for commoners) or the name (for government VIP's.) If that is the same, they are the same person even if the title is different. However, government VIPs can change their name whenever they want.

All players play domestically in the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League except as noted. Clubs listed reflect post-CoH club - some players are in the process of moving on transfers. Only government VIPs are permitted to play club soccer outside Gregoryisgodistan.

If you still don't get it, entering that name as a database input in certain programming languages will delete all the rosters from the file. Feel free to RP this crashing your computers or something like that. By the way, Fred's younger brother, Hacker John'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- is on the junior hockey team.

Uniforms (by Libertad Sportswear):
Image

From left to right, our home kit, our away kit, and our third kit (in case of clash.)

Due to the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a Gregoryisgodistani false flag) on Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, Gregoryisgodistan will play their home games at 617 Stadium. 617 Stadium is the home stadium of FC 17 June, the two-time defending champion of the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League. In fact, no other team has ever won the GSL. It is the second-largest stadium in Gregoryisgodistan after Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium. It is located in District 7, Ward 10. Note that Ward 10 is a subdivision of District 7, not the other way around. 617 Stadium seats 35,000 fans, expandable to 45,000 for major events. It is unlikely, however, that it will be expanded for the World Cup qualifying.

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post.

Introducing the Furellum Loyalists
Furellum have been psyched up by their U-21 World Cup win, finally proving they have what it takes to win youth tournaments. Not put off by this performance, the U-15 squad returned things to normal by bowing out of yet another WC finals, their fourth from five attempts. With a new coach, and players from the Di Bradini Cup squad now swelling the ranks, Furellum had the good run they wanted in WC69, just falling short in the play-offs. In what seems to be rapidly becoming an annoying tradition, Furellum have yet again changed their name, this time to something reflecting the current political situation.

The Background
To the unaware, Furellum is nothing more then a small island at the mouth of the Taaru sea in Atlantian Oceania. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as it were. The vast majority of the country is situated in another dimension, accessible only through the magical bridge which connects the White Tower in Altsby and its otherworld counterpart, the Moonlight Tower, in Other Altsby. Furellum is a land of magic, soaked in ether which the wizards of the country bend to their will. The country is home to many different races, species of animals made sentient and human-like by some powerful magic long since forgotten. They have been here for time immemorial, but only since the medieval period have humans lived in Furellum, when it became a Grand Duchy of the Kingdom of Maalvia. Much of Furellum is still stuck in the middle ages, with modern technology only beginning to creep into the nation.

The Team
Motto - "Victoria et hoc genus omne"
#1 Mihails Gavrilovic (Gelada Baboon) Goalkeeper
Bio: Impressing in two U-15 World Cups, Mihails was selected for the Di Bradini squad, where he played an important part in winning the title. He's been in the FFA's sights for a long time, and finally makes the move to the senior team. Naturally gifted, Mihails has an almost unstoppable energy that has him bouncing around the goal and stopping shots from any angle. His long reach and jumping distance make him tough to score against, even on a rebound.

#5. Sorin Vladimirescu (Human) Left Back
Sorin is a minor member of the Maalvian Royal family, who rule over Furellum. As such he is often placed on a pedestal by the lower-class members of the team, even though their is nothing aristocratic about his nature. This image of royalty has been enhanced by his recent move to club giants SK Franz Josef City in Polar Islandstates.

#3. Ragnar Asbjorn (Polar Bear) Left Centre Back
Asbjorn is big and tough, but he is also remarkably quick. One of the Di Bradini squad players, Ragnar still acts like he has something to prove. This sometimes causes him to go in too hard and foul opposing strikers. Due to his bulk, once they're hit, they stay down, often causing Asbjorn to be yellow-carded where others might be let off with a warning.

#2. Bronislav Mlaker (Badger) Centre Back
Cute and Cuddly, Mlaker has also been voted the player most likely to rip your head off and spit down your neck. A player with a mean streak, Mlaker is a fierce competitor for the ball. He may give away a lot of fouls, but referees should be prepared for the consequences should they get on his bad side...

# 15. Marian Constantin (Elk) Right Centre Back
The polar opposite of Mlaker, Constantin is cool, calm and collected. Since Krupin's shock departure from the national team, he's been dropped into the starting line-up. Constantin excels at precision tackling and passing under pressure, and could well be a game changer when the stakes are down.

#4. Fyodor Iosef (Horse) Right Back (Captain)
Solid, dependable and strong. Iosef ticks all the boxes for a defender. His gentle disposotion and calming influence on his team, especially Mlaker, has also led to him being given the captain's armband, a burden he does not bear lightly. Fyodor was also named as part of Baptism of Fire 53's "Team of the Tournament".

#7. Symon Maksimov (Grey Wolf) Left Midfielder
Maksimov is one of the most technically skilled players on the team, and is well renowned for his ball control skills. Known as a friendly player, Maksimov plays clean, using his skills to avoid contact with opposing players.

#8. Adam Vukoja (Human) Midfielder
Vukoja plays for Guldisall, the university where he is currently studying the secrets of magic. Adam has dreams of one day being a wizard, but he is already a wizard with a football. Vukoja has been at the centre of Furellum junior football for years, and his entrance into the senior squad is no surprise.

#9. Germogen Sokoloff (Cheetah) Right Midfielder
The quickest player on the team by a long shot, Sokoloff is the key to the Turtle's attack. He has the speed to beat the opposing defence and the skills to find a penetrating pass to the forwards. If he has a weakness it is in his stamina, and he will rarely last a full ninety minutes without being replaced.

#10. Moisey Vaduva (Markhor Goat) Left Striker
He may look like an old veteran with his almost floor length braided beard, but don't be fooled. Moisey is a youngster at just twenty-one, and as such plays a mostly supporting role in providing the more experienced and skilled Szczelaszczyk with scoring opportunities.

#11. Eleazar Szczelaszczyk (Leopard) Right Striker
The star of the national team, Eleazar is from a well known sporting family. His son Ezra is an up and coming striker, having competed in the U-15 and U-21 World Cup squads, and his father was a pro-golfer on the Furellum circuit. Fast and flashy, Szczelaszczyk will be a big contender in the box, much to the despair of foreign commentators who are likely to have to repeat his last name.

The Reserves
#12. Volodya Dumitrescu (Hare) Goalkeeper
An unlikely choice for a goalkeeper due to his diminutive size, Volodya makes up for it with an impressive leap, good reactions, and a strong grip. He's fairly useless against short balls and penalties though, which is why he is not the main keeper for the team.

#23. Gregor Petrovich (Polar Bear) Goalkeeper
A dominating presence between the goal, Gregor relies on his massive bulk rather than agility to keep shots out. Seen as a solid choice for the team, he was previously the team's starting goalkeeper. Petrovich is especially good at rushes, and likes to use them, perhaps too often.

#14. Vidarr Stefanovich(Hippo) Defender
Taking the number of Vyacheslav Lagunov, arguably the World Cup's clumsiest player ever, Vidarr has some worrying similarities to his predecessor. A hippo like Lagunov, Vidarr is built like the proverbial house. Being tackled by Vidarr really is like being hit by a ton of bricks, or at least a ton of over-eager Furellum defender. Vidarr always wants the ball, and takes to the sport with an excitement and energy that cannot be contained.

#6. Lievin Zaboulon (Otter) Defender
Zaboulon, like many otters in Furellum, comes from a fishing village along the Rode river. As the middle child of eight in a working-class family, he's lived a hard life, but that only motivates him more on the pitch. Football is Lievin's life, and he is a hardworking defender with a good ability to harass opposing players and steal the ball from under their noses.

# 16. Domen Loke (Leopard) Midfielder
Another player from the DBC champion squad, Loke has come a long way in the past few years. While quick and with enough smarts to get around defenders, Loke is also introverted and selfish. He'd rather try to beat five defenders himself then pass to a teammate. However, he has been working on that, and will see plenty of game time this cup.

# 17. Luka Zelenko (Leopard) Midfielder
The player usually called on whenever Sokoloff runs out of steam, Zelenko is a decent attacking midfielder. Suspected of being a feline hybrid and not a pure-blood leopard, Zelenko has the ability to jump nearly two metres in the air, a useful ability whenever Furellum have a corner.

# 18. Havryil Petrov (Maned wolf) Forward
A man with a chip on his shoulder, Petrov is aggressive, confrontational, and emotional. While he may seem at conflict with himself, when he's in control he is a good forward with a powerful left footpaw that is sure to keep opposing keepers on their toes.

# 19. Boleslav Balan (Black Boar) Forward
Not a team player, Boleslav's usual attacking method is to get the ball and charge towards goal, regardless of any defenders that might get in his way. While this may work sometimes, more often than not he will be dispossessed or called for a foul, so he is usually kept on the bench. He's like a nuclear weapon: Lethal, but extremely dangerous to those who use it and only utilised as a last resort.
