Introduction

After little thought and even less consideration, Vettrera and The Royal Kingdom of Quebec present their bid to host the 24th World Bowl.

OOC Information

Royal Kingdom of Quebec has been an active part of NS Sports for about a year and half now, participating in every WCoH since its 19th edition. The user behind the Royal Kingdom of Quebec has hosted Baptism of Iron XIV and XV, both editions of NSCAA Ice Hockey(which he organised and co-hosted with Michael VII, Cassadaigua and Vaugania), as well as co-hosting last 2 editions of NSCF. He’s currently the President of World Cup of Hockey Federation,as well as an extremely active member of World Bowl circuit.

Vettrera has been a member of the NS Sports community for three years, but has only gotten into hosting in the last two. This user has hosted both the 2nd and 7th editions of the Under 15- World Cup, the 5th edition of the International Baseball Slam (with New Wolfopolis), and the first edition of the Memorial Cup (which this user is also the founder of). In the sport of American Football specifically, Vettrera was the founder of the GAFA (Global American Football Association), and hosted the first two editions of the tournament. This user has been extremely invested in the sport of gridiron, as well as in collegiate athletics throughout his time on nationstates.

IC Information

Empire of the Royal Kingdom of Quebec is a fairly large nation located in the Northwestern corner of Atlantian Oceania. It is a multicultural nation consisting of four predominant(English, French, Korean and First Nations) and many complementary ethnicities and cultures. Being located far north of AO and with distinctive four seasons, gridironis a very popular sport, being played in almost every part of the country.Gridiron Football(Canadian) is extremely popular in most of this nation of 48 million, with huge fan support expected from all over in our large, unique stadiums. While the football league from Quebec Intercollegiate Sports and Quebec Football League uses Canadian Rules, the fields can be easily adjusted to meet the American standards and Quebecois crowds will embrace their American brother very well. The Provincial Coalition of Vettrera is a large nation nested in the center of Esportiva with a populaton of approximately 170 million. Western Vettrera tends to have more of a tropical climate while Eastern Vettrera is home to many different geographies and climates, with Western Vettrera leaning towards a tropical climate, and Eastern Vettrera leaning towards a mild one with large amounts of forest and mountain land. Each province has its own unique culture and history, and Vettrera on the whole is racially and ethnically diverse. Even so, almost all Vettreran citizens do speak english. As far as sports are concerned, Vettrera places extreme emphasis on the sports of gridiron and basketball. Furthermore, Vettrera has one of the largest collegiate sports systems in the entire community, meaning that Vettrera has more than enough stadiums and supporters to host this event.


Scorination

Scorination will be done in the latest version of xkoranate on the Gridiron Football(American) function, using the modifiers that Saintland has created. Style Modifiers will be from -5 to +5. RPs will be scored from 0 to 3 and the criteria for judging them is based mainly on how creative and h well written they are. RP bonus will serve as a significant factor in the scorination. They will be cumulative, all the way through. Rosters will also be graded and shall be equivalent to a matchday, with same criteria being used as the RPs..
There will also be bonus RP opportunities (that you can ignore if you want) next to some of the scorinated matches for Quebecois half, which many of you have already experienced through most competitions that Quebec has hosted.

Cutoff and Timeframe

If we'll ever be chosen as the host, the everything thread will be up as soon as possible, based on the availability of hosts. Based on the timeframe that we have set for the time being, the most likely date for MD1 scorination will be sometime in the first week of September. Groups will be drawn 2 days prior to the MD1 scorination. Exact cutoff time range for scorination will be released at the much later date, though it is very likely that for Quebecois half, it'll be around 16:00(Toronto-NYC Time), and Vettreran Half at 18:00 (Toronto-NYC Time)

. If there's a need for any scorination changes by the host, the host concerned will announce it at least 24 hours before the intended scorination time.

Format

Right now, with the record number of signups, it'd make lot more sense to expand the format. So, if elected, we'll cutoff the signup at 64. These teams then, using pots, will be divided into 8 groups of 8 each. It would be a single round robin format, all playing in either Quebec or Vettrera. Top 2 teams per group will advance into the playoffs after qualifying stage, where then they'll be seeded using the tiebreakers seen below (which will also be used for breaking ties inside of groups). Group Champions will be awarded spots 1-8 with runner-ups 9-16. There will be no reseeding during the playoffs.

In the even that the number 64 cannot be reached, alternate formats will of course be proposed.

The bid has been edited to reflect our decision.
Group leaders will be given slots 1-8 and runner-ups will be given slots 9-16. They will then be seeded via the tie-breaking procedure.

This is mainly because some groups will end up being more active/competitive than others despite the pots, so this is a way to award those that win their groups.

Although the phrasing in my first post on this thread may have been similar to Anditia's (which might have caused this misunderstanding in the first place), I'm certainly no puppet nor secondary nation of his.

I am joining the WB as a primary nation and first-time competitor, and can join the World Assembly as well if it's deemed necessary to prove my words; Although I'd rather not be part of the WA for now.

Actually, that's an mistake by the President, since you previously entered BoI 4.

Clarification on my BOI bid. If I am selected to host, all players, coaches and fans traveling to Gregoryisgodistan will receive special papers proving that they are there for the tournament. As long as they have those papers on their person at all times, they will not be subject to most of our laws as described above. However, if they fail to present those papers when stopped for violating a law, they will be prosecuted as normal up to and including execution. Oocly, this gives nations a chance to RP characters being subject to the insane Gregoryisgodistani laws if they want to, while giving them an opt out if they don't.
