Welcome to the 67th World Cup, being hosted by Cassadaigua and the Equestrian States!

Nations that have signed up for World Cup 67 are to post their rosters here. Rosters should (at minimum) list your 11 starting players and their reserves. Participants may also wish to include background information on their players, manager/head coach, and any other staff members their teams might have. It is suggested that information on national stadiums also be included in roster posts, as they are commonly-used elements in many participants' RPs.

Other information participants may include in their posts include: formations, strategies/tactics, team background, traditions, kits/jerseys, fans, players' roles, team achievements, nicknames, and anything else not listed here that might come to mind.

Style Modifiers
Nations are also invited to include a style modifier for their team. Style mods range from -5 to +5. A team that plays offensively, attacking more and focusing on scoring more goals at the cost of defense, should choose a positive style mod (anywhere from +0.001 to +5.0); they will both score and concede more goals on average. Teams that would rather sit back and focus on defense to prevent their opponents from scoring too many goals should choose a negative style mod (anywhere from -0.001 to -5.0); they will give up fewer goals, but will also have more difficulty scoring goals than their offense-first counterparts. For those who want the best of both worlds, or just don't really care to choose one style over the other, a neutral style mod of 0 is the best option. Nations that do not indicate a style mod will be assigned a neutral one.

After the first match day, if a participant wishes to change their style mod to one different from what they initially posted, they may do so by sending the host scorinating the next match a request via telegram. It is asked that participants include an in-character rationale for the change in their TG to the hosts. Nations will only be allowed one style mod change after the first day, so choose wisely when asking.

RP Permissions Box
It is also asked that participants include information on what their opponents can and cannot include in RPs about their team by posting an RP permissions box (or its equivalent) with their roster:

Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes/No
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes/No
Godmod other events: Yes/No

Posting a roster for your team will earn you a small RP bonus as well as the gratitude of other nations in your group, since writing match reports quickly becomes boring if one is unable to name any of their opponents' players. If you have any OOC comments, questions, or concerns please post them in the World Cup Discussion Thread (see links at top) or send one of the hosts a TG.

Notes

This is the same Feministvs Sanctvsterra team that competed at the Games of the VIII Olympiad in Liventia in the women's tournament. They claim to be the Saintland National Soccer Team, but Feministvs Sanctvsterra is regarded as a terrorist organization by the government of Saintland. In reality, there are a radical feminist group that has used controversial tactics to promote themselves in the past. After Saintland's bid for this World Cup, King Paulus XV decided to boycott the World Cup, protesting over what he considers a corrupt decision. Since this is NOT actually the Saintland National Soccer Team, the past performance of the Saintland National Team and the performance of this team at this World Cup are to be kept (ICly) separate. The names that are listed should be treated as aliases. Feministvs Sanctvsterra members do not reveal their real identities publicly, in order to protect their safety.

Feminisvs Sanctvsterra has competed in international sports events before, winning several medals at the Games of the VIII Olympiad and competing in the 11th Handball World Cup. However, they have had their greatest success in the World Korfball Classic, where they have won 2 out of 4 WKCs, with a third place in their only other attempt. In soccer, they are a defensive-minded team. Due to the circumstances under which members of the organization live, the Feministvs Sanctvsterra Soccer Team has high levels of team chemistry. They live their lives on the run from the authorities, so members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra are deeply loyal to one another and to their organization. This loyalty translates into team-oriented play, with a focus on gaining and maintaining possession rather than attacking.

Although the Feministvs Sanctsterra Soccer Team does not include any male players, the idea that Feministvs Sanctvsterra is all female is a common misconception. Around 10 percent of the group's membership is male, mostly comprised of brothers of the group's members.

The Crystal Empire of Equestria
National Hoofball Team - World Cup 67 Roster

Introduction
The Crystal Knights are back again and looking for more than before. After a first World Cup cycle which had more than its fair share of ups and downs, the Crystal Empire enters its second World Cup qualifying campaign with a respectable 112th ranking and aspirations to break into the top 100 by the conclusion of the Cup of Harmony.

In the last cycle, it was the Crystal Ponies' turn to shine (no pun intended) on the international stage, and shine they did. The group stage of the 53rd Baptism of Fire saw the Crystal Empire establish itself as a team to be reckoned with defensively, not even conceding a goal until late in their untimely semifinal defeat against the eventual winners from Welsh Cowboy. A shootout loss in the 3rd place match against Southwick meant the Crystal Knights would begin their qualifying campaign lacking the energy and determination which had defined the better part of their Baptism of Fire run.

Fortunately, the spark to jump-start the Crystal Empire's campaign would come in their friendly matches leading up to the first day of qualifying. A set of excellent results against several respectable opponents in matches often deemed meaningless by the press provided a fresh boost of momentum that allowed the Crystal Knights to dominate the pace in their first few qualifying matches before being humbled by top-ranked Polar Islandstates. But the Crystal Empire bounced back quickly, and in front of a full house at the Imperial Arena, the team stunned second-seeded Paradystopia to finish with a draw that would ultimately be a deciding factor in the group.

Waltzing into the second leg after a friendly rematch of their Baptism of Fire second round clash against Alitaba from which they emerged victorious on hostile soil, the Crystal Empire once more was perfect in their first couple matches. However, the Crystal Knights' qualifying run was brought to an end as they fell once more to the Polarian juggernaut, and then failed to repeat their earlier upset of Paradystopia (which nopony was really too upset by, given their somewhat pessimistic earlier expectations). Still, that first leg draw would ultimately be fatal to Paradystopia, which finished just one point shy of shocking the hoofball world by qualifying over top-ranked title favorites Polar Islandstates.

Unfortunately, the Cup of Harmony invitation the Crystal Empire had fought so hard to earn would amount to little. Drawn into one of the tournament's tougher groups with Jeru FC and (who else) Paradystopia being the favorites. Though the Crystal Ponies fought hard, and even managed to deny 33rd-ranked Jeru FC the three points in a scoreless draw, it would ultimately be in vain as the Crystal Empire failed to score a single goal and crashed out. Still, it was a reasonable last-place group stage finish, all things considered, and the only match the team never had a prayer in was their 3-0 finale defeat to Iturributa.

This year, with the World Cup finals scheduled to be played in the Pony Lands for the first time in history, the Crystal Empire expects to do well, despite their modest seeding. With an uncanny knack for keeping matches close into the dying minutes of play, the Crystal Knights will look to challenge even the best teams they'll be facing. The team's stated goal is to finish no worse than fourth on the final table, with a more optimistic objective of third place. Not expected to qualify for the World Cup, the Crystal Empire is aiming for the Cup of Harmony once more, where they hope to have a more impressive impact than in their last appearance.

Can the Crystal Knights play the role of spoiler once again? Will they return to the Cup of Harmony looking better than ever? Everything indicates the Crystal Empire is capable of greatness given a few more years of experience-building, and there's no reason to doubt the team will put on a show for its devoted fans once more.

Team Strategy

Image

In many ways, the style of hoofball played by the Crystal Empire is similar to that of the Equestrian States, being based on speed, endurance, and the natural advantages of equine athletes. However, there are a couple of key differences between the two teams' approaches. First, the Crystal Empire is more defensive than their Equestrian counterparts, using a slightly-modified 4-4-2 formation and relying on the midfielders to provide additional defensive support if needed. This conservative strategy allows the Crystal Knights to better weather the early all-out attacks that have felled the Ponies in the past, leaving them rested and capable of staging second half surges similar to those utilized by the Equestrian States.

Furthermore, the Crystal Empire lacks the species diversity that the Equestrian States is so well known for, being over 98% inhabited by crystal ponies. While they may lack some of the natural advantages held by other sapient equines, the crystal ponies should still not be taken lightly by humanoid players. Like other ponies, crystal ponies are generally shorter than their humanoid opponents but make up for it with impressive jumping abilities (though not nearly as awe-inspiring as those of the pegasai). Finally, while sapient equines rarely "play dirty", crystal ponies take clean play to a whole new level with their wholehearted devotion to the elegance and beauty of the game.

Home Stadium
Image
Imperial Arena

Location: Crystopolis
Capacity: 69,740
Tenants: Crystopolis City

Located adjacent to the towering Crystal Palace, Imperial Arena was constructed shortly after the Crystal Empire reappeared to the north of Magical Equestria as a part of the nation's bid to host the Equestria Games. In the decade or so since the games were held, many other sports competitions have taken place in the Empire's largest stadium and several prominent local hoofball clubs have also taken up residence.

A multipurpose indoor venue, Imperial Arena's main field is encircled by a track, somewhat limiting the seating of supporters, though additional accommodations will be added to reduce the distance separating the fans from the field. Additionally, it should be noted that pickaxes, hammers, chisels, and other tools brought into the Crystal Empire will be confiscated and checked upon entry to the nation as stealing chunks of the Empire's predominantly crystal architecture is generally frowned upon by the local authorities.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes - Only that the player was injured and how they were injured, I will determine actual severity
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes - Same restrictions as above apply
Hand out yellow cards to my players: No
Hand out red cards to my players: No
Godmod other events: Yes - TG me first to clear it, since there are some things that shouldn't be done, or should be otherwise limited
Other Notes: TG me if you have any questions regarding my RPs, requests for more information on the Crystal Empire, or requests for exemptions from my RP restrictions. Opponents of the Crystal Empire may also want to consider looking at the roster of the Equestrian States for further information on how equines play hoofball (what sapient ponies call what internationally is known as football or soccer).

Notes

The Federation of Free Republics (FFR) is a federation of Republics with a weak national government (the "Federation Government") that has numerous checks and balances. The Republics, each of which has its own government, are relatively independent, although they are subject to the Federation Constitution and its numerous restrictions on what government can do. Most important among them is the cap on taxation, which makes it unconstitutional for government (meaning all governments in the FFR) to take more than 10% combined of anybody's income in taxes, effectively limiting the government. They are the nearest neighbor to Saintland, although that tiny island nation is over a thousand miles to the north of the northern-most Republic's northern border, and most Republicans actually tend to consider progressives worse than religious fanatics, even if both ideologies are considered extreme and contrary to Republicanism. This is the same team the FFR sent to last year's Di Bradini Cup and also to last year's World Cup and Cup of Harmony. The players on this team would not be considered the best players in the FFR or even the best U-21 players in the FFR. Republican athletes tend to have massive egos and they aren't interested in playing for their country. This team was the idea of Rule Theriault, a failed former manager who had led a team that was expected to contend for the league title to relegation. Theriault failed as manager at Petrograd United because the veteran players on that team, with their giant egos, did not respect their manager or his approach to the game. Theriault clashed with players because he emphasizes a team-first style of play and an intense practice schedule. To rebuild his reputation, he decided to work with younger players that would take instruction and was able to get a number of talented young players, even if most of the country's top prospects turned him down. This team made it to the finals of the Di Bradini Cup last year, before falling short against the Equestrian States. Despite requests from a number of professional players to be chosen for the national side, Theriault chose not to make any changes to his squad for the Baptism of Fire to avoid any risk of weakening team chemistry. Despite finishing 17th at BoF 52 and failing to qualify for World Cup 65, Theriault once again chose not to make any changes to his side for the 57th edition of the Cup of Harmony. The team would lose their first 2 matches at the 57th CoH to New Sideburn and Filopines before picking up upsets against Jeru FC and Falcus. There are no large differences in ability between the individual players on this team. Backups can see playing time and Theriault will probably bench his starters if he feels the game is meaningless. Bolton is the team's best player, but he isn't much better than the other strikers. The Free Republics returned to the DBC and won all 7 of their matches, becoming the Di Bradini Cup champions. Assistant Manager Massimiliano Abdullahi was not at DBC 28, as he coached the National Beach Soccer Team, a team composed entirely of U-15 players, in Beach Cup IX. The U-15 side went 4-6 in the Beach Cup and went on to be eliminated after the group stage of the 5th U-15 World Cup. In their second World Cup qualifying campaign, the Free Republics were in serious contention until being eliminated on the 8th day of 10 with a lopsided defeat against perennial qualifiers Gyatso-Kai. The Free Republics would host the 58th Cup of Harmony, which saw the Republican National Team advance out of a Group of Death that included the then-2nd ranked team in the world Andossa Se Mitrin Vega and also included the likes of Qazox and Felix. However, they would fall to the Licentian Isles in the Round of 16. In their 3rd World Cup qualifying attempt, they are hoping to break through. If they do so, they would strongly prefer to end up in Cassadaigua rather than their arch-rival the Equestrian States, who also hosted this year's DBC, which saw the Republican U-21s finish 3rd amid rape allegations from Felix against their players, which are ardently denied by everybody associated with the Republican National Team. This roster includes a change, as Levai Imre was added as a 4th goalkeeper. The young goalkeeper, who starred in this year's U-15 World Cup, will be traveling with the team in order to gain more experience.

In case you are wondering, Nova Hellstrom no longer recaps this team's matches. She was re-assigned by Sporting World after writing an article about how adbots are great when she was supposed to write a match recap of a World Cup qualifier during the 65th cycle. Sporting World has yet to hire a replacement.

Play style: The game who SJG does, is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement of players, using his intelligence for the game for single passes very accurate soil to accumulate players when attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counterattacks that can hurt any team.

In the defense area, they tend to use more physical to play aggressively without damaging the rivals, except that the defenses are of medium height stands that are agile in the aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat thereby.

Players like try long-distance shots to beat the goalkeeper, but SJG can have more surprises because it is a team that does not give up that easy.

IC: Important Info

Fans. Football hooliganism is a real problem in SJG. With riots recently reported in the matches against Paradystopia, the SJGNFA is trying to find a way to protect guest fans. Also, fans will treat the fans of the following nations heatedly, some for having a rivalry like SJG VS Darmen, Gregoryisgodistan and Astograth. However Security topic is seriuously for the safety of visiting fans.

Etymology
The origin of the name cames from the spanish "Campo de guayabas" (Guavas County) (Vulgar: Guayabal) by the abundance of guavas, in 1770 was imposed as the patron of the town Saint Joseph (San José; In spanish) by this reason the name is San José Guayabal (Eng. Saint Joseph Guavas)

History
The village emerged in the mid-eighteenth century, and was known as Guayabal by the abundance of guava. In 1770, according to Pedro Cortés y Larraz (Spanish colonizer), had a population of 593 people "without being subject to any authority."

Indeed, the mayor Mayor Jose Ortiz de la Peña actual surveyor commissioned Don Francisco Jose Vallejo to chart a plan of the new town, which was founded on November 13, 1786 as a people's Guayabal. For 1807 had a population of 1,150 inhabitants.

Under the rule of El Salvador

He was part of the department of San Salvador from 1824-1835, the year he spent in the district of Suchitoto Cuscatlan. For 1859 it had a population of 2,302 inhabitants, which by 1890 had risen to 5,830,000. He received the title of town in 1875, and the city in 2006.

Independence of SJG:

The March 29, 2013, in protest of its 400 million people by the mistreatment of El Salvador, it was decided to wean and the same day, El Salvador accepted independence.

Through time, international litigation, could colonize El Salvador and then arrive to the continent of andarica in Esportiva

-Guayabalenses/Guayabalians: 31%
-Salvadorans: 20%
-British: 19%
-Russians: 17%
-Eskimos: 13%

Of which are of different religions:

-Evangelical Christian: 96%
-Catholics: 2%
-Protestants: 2%

Language
The national languages of under Article 8 of the Constitution of the Federation of San Jose Guayabal, adopted in The Honorable People's Parliament are: English, Spanish Guayabalense, Russian, and Eskimo (Most used are: English, Spanish and Guayabalian), encouraging the use of language Guayabalian in:

- All daily activities as the language of communication between citizens of the Federation.

-support their teaching in public schools, private schools and universities in the San Jose Guayabal Federation.

But the SJG citizens talk the following languages:

-Spanish: 30%
-Guayabalian: 30%
-English: 15%
-Eskimo: 13%
-Russian: 12%

But 95% of the population has at least advanced knowledge of five languages, making society a society Guayabalense polyglot, highly acculturated and interesting to interact.

To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!

Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly

And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!, consecrate!, consegrate!, consegrate!

FIRST VERSE
Of peace enjoyed in perfect happiness
San Jose Guayabal always nobly dreamed.
To achieve this has been Her eternal proposition,
To keep it, Her greatest glory.
With inviolable faith, the path of progress
She strives to follow
To fulfil Her great destiny
And conquer a happy future.
A stern barrier protects Her
Against the clash of vile disloyalty,
Ever since the day when Her soaring Flag,
Wrote Freedom with Its blood

CHORUS
Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!

Let us salute, the Motherland, proudly
To be its children, called we can
And let us swear our lives spiritedly
Without rest to its good, consecrate!, consecrate!, consegrate!, consegrate!

Tourist's Handbook:

1) Where is Maklohi Vai and how do I get there?
Maklohi Vai is an island group, comprising an archipelago and a truncated volcanic chain, located in southeast Atlantian Oceania. There are ferries to some other nations in AO, but those are long rides typically unsuitable for tourists. The best way to get to Maklohi Vai is by plane, most likely through Kolo Lahi International Airport. From there, there are connecting flights, roads, ferries, or trains to all other destinations in the country.

2) Will I be able to communicate with the locals?
Maklohi Vai is a bilingual nation, with 98% of the citizenry knowing both Vaian and English. Highly educated people, no matter their field, will typically learn one or two more languages, often an East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) or a major Romance language (French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.). Those working in cultural and historical fields often learn Siroyese and Samoan as well. If none of these meet your language, there are translators available at all visitor information centers and major tourist destinations.

3) Where can I stay?
There are numerous hotels and smaller hostels in and around every city. The Vaian economy is largely built on tourism, so there’s plenty of options in many places. If you need help, you can contact the National Tourism Bureau.

4) What and where can I eat?
Like hotels, restaurants and cafes are abundant in cities and along highways linking the cities. In the more tourist heavy sections of the country, as well as those more metropolitan areas, cuisine is global, encompassing a number of options from nearly any place you can think of. If you’re looking for a trendy bite, try out a Vaian fusion restaurant, the new kids on the scene. If you’re off the beaten path in other parts of the country, you’re likely to find the local cuisine more frequently. This consists largely of fish and other seafood, tropical fruit, a multitude of spices, and various root vegetables like taro.

5) Are there any religious services available?
Yes, although they may be hard to find. Maklohi Vai is 94% atheist, with the remaining 6% being almost entirely Christian, mainly Mormon and Catholic. As such, it’s not hard to find those places of worship if you’re in a big city. There are a few other Protestant denominational churches in Kolo Lahi and Totai, a mosque in Kolo Lahi, and a synagogue in Wakita.

6) What cultural norms should I observe?
Vaians are very friendly, welcoming people. If they see you looking around lost, they’ll come over and help. If they see you looking very much like a tourist on the street, they’ll wave and say hello, a gesture which you should return. It is considered impolite to not accept an offer of hospitality such as a ride to where you’re going or another offer of assistance. Do not try to pay those who help you, as this is typically embarassing; it is better to give a sincere thanks and a warm handshake.

7) Will I be safe?
There is little to no daylight crime whatsoever, especially not in tourist areas. Likewise, if you’re going to a restaurant or bar and there are a lot of other people around, you will be perfectly safe. If you must be out at night alone, it’s safe on major roads and in the downtowns of cities. The danger lies in the rural parts of the country, off the main roads. There are opportunist theives who are not afraid to strip you of your belongings before letting you go. Murder and violent crime rates are extremely low.

8) What health services are available?
The nationalized healthcare system admits foreign patients free of charge for a one time ER visit. If you enter a hospital, costs are subsidized heavily, but do expect a bill. Amublances run with great speed, as do the police. Dial 444 on any phone to get services.

9) Are there sensitive politics that I should avoid?
If you are not a native of Maklohi Vai or otherwise very well acquainted with its political situation, it is considered bad form to make disparaging remarks against government officials. Mild criticism is acceptable, although not warmly welcomed, and if you voice strong opinions contrary to the present political situation, be prepared for a debate. Vaians love to talk politics and love even more to engage in a intellectual debate about it, especially with someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. It is best to not be that person.

10) How is the civil rights situation?
Maklohi Vai is ranked highly internationally for civil rights, and all people are accepted regardless of any preference, with one major exception: religious fundamentalists. The Mormon population in other countries may be known for their prosletyzing, but in Maklohi Vai they stay quiet for a good reason: Over 3/4 of the country identifies as anti-fundamentalist and anti-religious activism. If you hold particularly strong religious beliefs, do not share them out loud, let alone try to persuade others of them. This is a very good way to make a Vaian’s good charm flip to the opposite emotion. Besides this, there is almost no reason to be scared because of who you are.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

The Kits for the Åsløtten-Bëðerbørg så Česky National Team.

Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Oscar Olsen
Age: 74
Ethnicity: Danish
Olsen has been the coach of the national team for 25 years, constantly employing his attacking 3-4-3 formation throughout that tenure. He is more or less the face of the program, and is highly respected throughout the country. He seems to run through a lot of assistant coaches, but few people mind. Olsen runs a tight ship, and any and all infractions are taken note of and dealt with quickly. Outside critics often call him strict, but nearly every player past and present vouches for his compassion and kindness.

Assistant Coach: Jan Svoboda
Age: 39
Ethnicity: Czech
Entering his fourth year as an assistant under Olsen, Svoboda left a job as the head coach of the Brno club team in order to come help out with the national team. His quiet style is seen to be a better fit for Olsen’s calm and orderly management of the squad. He is a defensive specialist and seeks to steer the team’s style towards a more defensively oriented one.

Starting XI

Goalkeeper

Jakub Køčera
Age: 20
Height: 6’ 4”
Number: 10
Ethnicity: Czech
Club: Junfan, Felix
The youngest goalie in the history of the national team, Køčera is a fiery and talented presence in goal. Constantly yelling for more noise from the crowd or violently gesturing to his teammates, he promises to be a long term presence in goal if he can contain his flame. He has had some discipline issues in the past, but none since he has been on the national team.

Defense

LB: Isak Beneš
Age: 27
Height: 5’ 10”
Number: 26
Ethnicity: Czech-Danish
Club: Sabrefell Athletic, New Sideburn
Beneš is a new addition to the team, having stayed put and passed over in the development teams. His short and stocky stature make him a different type of defender; he is not afraid to get dirty and throw some elbows around. This makes him both booking vulnerable and a significant presence on the field, which he uses to provide the spark for counter attacks. This translates off the field as well, as Beneš gives frequent inflammatory interviews that toe the line. He loves to trash talk.

CB: Mads Sørensen
Age: 38
Height: 6’ 9”
Number: 23
Ethnicity: Danish
The tallest and oldest defender on the team, Sørensen serves as the last resort in the event of a counter attack, as well as the commanding arial presence on both offense and defense. His height allows him to rise above the opponent and deflect the ball whichever way he pleases. Sørensen is also expected to stay on for several more years, as he has constantly emphasized that he’s still capable of playing. His calm and fatherly demeanor, along with his helpful advice and leadership, led Olsen to name him captain three years ago after Jiri Marksen retired.

RB: Magnus Horæk
Age: 22
Height: 6’ 4”
Number: 14
Ethnicity: Danish
Club: Brinemouth, New Sideburn
Horæk is a thoroughly consistent player. His passing and dribbling are spot-on, if not always powerful, and his knowledge of the game exceeds nearly everyone on the team. He’s a mostly quiet person who likes to keep to himself, and typically declines interviews.

Midfield

LM: Victor Äsmundsen
Age: 29
Height: 6’ 3”
Number: 9
Ethnicity: Danish
Club: Ituraitz Victory, Astograth
Äsmundsen is the classic attacking midfielder, with precision passing and shooting along with a constant urge to be upfield. As such, he is often seen as a fourth striker when such situations call. He is lean and agile up and down the pitch, meaning it is not uncommon to see him both on the offense and defense of a particular game flow. He’s a calm player off the field unless the topic turns to politics, in which case his communist side comes flowing out.

LCM: Emil Rasmußen
Age: 25
Height: 6’ 2”
Number: 31
Ethnicity: Swedish
Club: Gesterlake FC, Astograth
Rasmußen is a typical balanced midfielder, equally comfortable on offense and defense, with and without the ball. He doesn’t have particularly spectacular talents, but his consistency and extremely low amount of mistakes make him a relaible force at midfield. He’s typically used just as a cog in the wheel, but sometimes when he breaks out of that role, he can sneak by defenders unaware of his prowess. His demeanor carries off the pitch as well, as he’s relatively quiet in public.

RCM: Elias Ruzïck
Age: 28
Height: 6’ 3”
Number: 2
Ethnicity: Czech-Danish
Club: Pradera FC, Valladares
Most commonly known as the counterattack catalyst, Ruzïck’s prodigious bursts of speed and nimble footwork make him a top assister to the major forwards. He can easily take the ball through the middle third of the field just by dribbling, and often seeks to play an uptempo game when possible. He’s a seven year veteran of the team with great leadership skills, and is seen as a potential candidate to replace Mads Sørensen as captain once the defender retires.

RM: Olle Anderßon
Age: 22
Height: 6’ 0”
Number: 6
Ethnicity: Swedish
Club: Junfan, Felix
Anderßon plays with a sweeping defensive style, focusing on his pass breakups and challenges. When a more defensive scheme is required, he is the one to drop back and take charge in preventing a goal. His age sometimes gets the best of him, though, as he may overplay certain passes in the hope that he intercepts them. He is seen as an opportunist both on and off the field, his parents being recent Norwegian immigrants who lived just above the poverty line. Olle is humble due this upbringing.

Strikers

LS: William Čalrek
Age: 30
Height: 6’ 6”
Number: 15
Ethnicity: Czech-Swedish
Club: Maximum City, New Sideburn
A self described “nasty a** mothaf***a,” Čalrek is known more for his off field antics than his on field performance. While he’s well above average as a forward, with superb crossing and shooting, his colorful interviews and dispensity to tell the truth, no matter who it hurts, garner him the most attention. He’s been suspended from the team 5 times, and been recommended for demotion by the F.A. at least twice. It doesn’t help that he’s a member of the NRP, the furthest right party, and also sports tattoos across his body, from the neck to the shins and everywhere in between.

CS: Edvin Astøberg
Age: 24
Height: 6’ 3”
Number: 8
Ethnicity: Swedish
Club: Woodward Townsmen, New Gordonopia
Baptism of Fire 53 Team of Tournament
If any one player could be called the face of the team, it would be Astøberg. His goalscoring prowess, combined with his good looks and charisma, make him a fan favorite, while his compassion and charitable advice in the locker room make him popular amongst teammates. The only thing holding him from the captaincy is his age, which is an asset in nearly all other categories. He seeks to attain great heights in his career, and he has a lot of time to do so.

RS: Zlatan Dvakošek
Age: 26
Height: 6’ 1”
Number: 12
Ethnicity: Czech
Club: Marion Hawks, Barunia
While Astøberg has the hearts of the Nordic fans, the face for the Czech fans is Dvakošek. With his rough blue collar style of play, combined with powerful shots and vibrant celebrations, he is a natural place for Czechs to put their support. Under some pressure, he has also been an active proponent of the Czech Nationalist Alliance, campaigning publicly for them. This has created some divide between him and his teammates, and with the Czech fan base pulling on him ever harder, that gap may increase.

Team Cosumar - World Cup 67

Basic Team Information

Nation: The Fiefdom of Cosumar
Nickname: Dragons
Colors: Blue and White

Stadium: Leviathan Arena
Capacity: 99,114
Location: Kaldukosk, Cosumar
Image

Experience: This will be Cosumar's 17th World Cup. Cosumar qualified and advanced past group stage for nine consecutive Cups (54-62) but has not qualified since then. Cosumar's best tournament runs were trips to the Round of 16 in World Cups 56, 57, 58 and 59. After World Cup 59, Cosumar reached its peak rank of #7 in the world. Since then however, our national team has gradually declined and dropped significantly in international rankings. In World Cup 67, Cosumar will be attempting to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since World Cup 62. Though our team may not be as prominent as it once was, the Dragons are not a team to be taken lightly.

Team: The roster consists of twenty players, eighteen of which are human (species homo sapiens). The remaining two are Vloo (species homo cosumarensis), a humanoid species native to Cosumar. This Cosumarite team features a mix of seasoned veterans and athletic young talents.

More About Vloo: Please note that the Vloo, though not human, have no considerable physical advantage over human players. Minor differences are that the Vloo are slightly taller on average and must wear different cleats due to their unique foot structure. Vloo are nearly equal to humans in terms of strength and speed, but have a blue taint to their skin and two small, dull horns on the top of their head. Most Vloo's horns are completely covered by their thick, black hair.

Formation: 4-2-4

The Starting XI

GK Tomi KOSKINEN (27)
A few years ago, Koskinen emerged as one of the best young stars in Cosumar. At only 20 years old, he dominated Cosumar's collegiate league by allowing only 0.4 goals per game. He has speedy reflexes like few had ever seen before, and his skill set flawlessly carried over to professional football. He is poised to make it very difficult for even the best of opponents to score and is set to be the long-term starter for this team after a successful outing in the last World Cup.

DF Alexander PEARCE (30)
Pearce has been traveling with the Cosumar National Team in a variety of positions since age 18. With multiple World Cups under his belt and a highly developed skill set, Pearce is poised to take up the mantle as one of the true leaders of this team. Cosumarite media have began hailing him as one of the figureheads of this year's World Cup campaign and he will have to perform at a high level to live up to expectations. He has an exceptionally strong leg and is an extremely crafty player who frequently outwits his opponents.

DF Endyl PARU (32)
Endyl Paru has performed at a consistently high level both domestically and internationally for almost a dozen years. This will be his second World Cup as a starter for Cosumar and third overall. Paru is an intimidating figure at nearly 6"4, with some great moves and phenomenal endurance. His ever-present trademark yellow headband has become iconic in Cosumar, but he isn't just for show. Paru is one of Atlantian Oceania's premier defencemen and has been for several years.

DF Tae Woo MIYORI (25)
Miyori is a young star with a bright future in Cosumarite football. His best attribute is his speed and ball placement. Miyori is currently the fastest player on the team. After being mentored by the legendary William Riley prior to World Cup 66, Miyori is finally ready for the limelight. The last World Cup was a valuable learning experience for him. He showed a lot of promise but was raw and prone to mental mistakes. He has matured rapidly since then, however, and has convinced Manager Farris Crowley that he can be counted on in his second World Cup campaign. Riley is now retired and Pearce and Paru aren't getting any younger, so Miyori will have an opportunity to become the next great Cosumarite defenceman.

DF Kirum MORTONSSON (22)
Young and dashing Mortonsson recently completed his first professional FSF season with the Zakhoro Aces. The season was a disappointment for the club, but Mortonsson was the sole trace of hope. His outstanding debut season earned him a big fat paycheck to sign with perennial contender Ramusok United - and a spot on the National Team. Though his biggest fans are often teenage girls, he is supremely athletic and finds ways to make big plays when the team needs it the most. He can be hotheaded at times and make poor decisions. Being a first-year starter, he will frequently share some playing time to experienced bench players such as Phillip O'Hair.

MF Abel SCARLOFF (31)
Scarloff elected to immediately jump to professional soccer after high school and was a reserve on the WC63 team at a young age. He is highly skilled and has received much hype from international and domestic media - due to both his play in the now-defunct Civil Citizenry domestic league (with Fox Zero) as well as his numerous WC game-winning goals. Scarloff is an excellent midfielder, but has the scoring abilities of a striker and scores many goals.

MF Giovanni ALDINNE (28)
Aldinne debuted in the FSF five seasons ago with up-and-coming club Real Azuris, which nearly reached the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Aldinne, like his cousin Francois Renault, was a much-hyped young prospect that has met all expectations and is becoming a vital part of the Dragons' scheme. World Cup 67 will be a chance for him to further hone his skills in his third World Cup as a starter. Aldinne is noted for his extraordinary intelligence (maximum score on a soccer IQ test similar to the Wonderlic) and speed.

ST Addam ANDSMAN-SAVAGE (31)
Though his last name is peculiar, Andsman-Savage is a well-known around Cosumar as the captain of FC Samotath. Scoring goals is what he does, and he does it well. This will be his third time to don the Cosumarite colors, after his well-publicized success in World Cup 65 despite a supposed feud between him and Manager Farris Crowley. All bad blood has apparently been put aside, as Andsman-Savage rightly earned a spot in the Starting XI again, though he may frequently sacrifice playing time to Simmons and Teverridge. Andsman-Savage ruthlessly attacks the goal and has a very precise aim. The ball goes where he wants. His only downside is lack of speed, which Arora, Renault and Na'Safeh have in spades.

ST Sur ARORA (26)
After earning superstar status at the collegiate level, Arora signed with Samaj FC and had a promising rookie season. He genuinely loves the game and has been described by coaches as being "one of the hardest workers they ever coached". He is so noticably fluid in his motions, acceleration and ball control that it's almost scary. Arora is already an elite talent and considered one of the best in the world. He has big shoes to fill - as this will be the team's fourth World Cup without all-time leading scorer Rikki Varshney.

ST Francois RENAULT (28)
Renault debuted in the FSF four seasons ago with Cassandra City, which reached the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Renault, like his cousin Giovanni Aldinne, was a much-hyped young prospect that has met all expectations and is becoming a vital part of the Dragons' scheme. World Cup 67 will be a chance for him to further hone his skills in his third year as a starter. Aldinne is noted for his lethal combination of speed and brute strength.

ST Ejegefe NA'SAFEH (27)
Ejegefe Na'Safeh (pronounced: Eh-heh-eff-eh, Nah-Sah-Feh) is a young Vloo football phenomenon from the remote Na'Malsile Isles of Cosumar. Na'Safeh has been a benchwarmer for the past two World Cups. He was at times magnificent and at times sloppy and was labelled as a "project". He has always had potential, but his consistency has long been an issue. It has taken time, but Na'Safeh has steadily improved and he may finally be ready for a starting position. Cosumar's starting strikers are a very experienced bunch this year and will help Na'Safeh mature and become a fitting replacement for the now-retired Luke Crisalus who was the anchor of the Dragons' attack for the past several World Cups.

Image

The Reserves

GK Blinne VA'TUARAS (32)
Va'Tuaras is one of Cosumar's most iconic goalkeepers: his enormous frame, trademark mohawk hairstyle and wild antics earning him fan-favorite status. But underneath the flamboyance, Va'Taurus is a fine goalkeeper and has led Klyde FC to multiple Globe Cups. He has great instincts and is a tested backup in the event that the more talented Koskinen breaks down. He is the second of two Vloo members on the team.

DF Phillip O'HAIR (31)
"Red-Head O'Hair", as he's known in Cosumar, has been a consistent defender in the FSF for a few years now and has been selected to the National Team for the second time. He lacks elite speed and agility, but has fantastic ball-handling skills, a catapult for a leg, and rarely makes mistakes. He will be a reliable backup useful when a pair of fresh legs or experience are needed.

DF Abdiel ASSAD (27)
Hailing from a poverty-stricken community in the rugged, mountainous land of southeast Cosumar (where soccer is practically nonexistent), Assad has defied all odds to emerge as one of Cosumar's finest defencemen. Two years ago, he had a breakout season with Eastweald to help them recapture their former glory and qualify for the TakilQuip Champions Cup. He has since established himself as one of the FSF's most prominent stars at the position. He is also the first man of Arab descent to play on the Cosumarite national team. He is a jack-of-all-trades with no real weakness other than a lack of elite speed. He is in his prime and should give a huge boost to Cosumar's depleted reserves.

DF Jukka LINDROOS (19)
Lindroos is the latest Cosumarite teen to be hyped by the media as the next great star. He recently completed his senior year in high school and will attend Slivelle Academy on a soccer scholarship after the conclusion of the World Cup. His boyish face and long, golden locks have charmed the media, but do not be fooled, he is a ruthless player on the field. He may not be as skilled and experienced as his elders on the team yet, but he is extremely quick and brings a lot of energy whenever he steps on the field. He will probably not play much in this World Cup, but it will be a valuable experience for him. FSF scouts will definitely be watching.

MF Paaron PETROV (25)
A citizen of Fevelo that was born in Cosumar, Petrov plays in the Fevelian domestic system. Though he plays in a vastly inferior league, Paaron Petrov dominates in Fevelo even at the young age of 25. He was able to bypass several top Cosumarite midfielders to make the squad of the National Team. Feisty and resourceful, Petrov is an asset when it comes to setting up the big play. He is known for his remarkable ability to score from midfield, a shot he practices daily.

MF Maynard QUISSIMORE (29)

ST Corey SIMMONS (34)
This will be Simmons' fourth World Cup (became a starter after performing well as a reserve in World Cup 64). He has been Kaldukosk FC's leading scorer for eight consecutive seasons and has quickly become one of the most feared strikers on the Cosumarite squad. He has been criticized for being a detriment to the team's locker room atmosphere at times, but his lightning-quick speed and brute force are elite. A seasoned veteran at this point, he has not slowed a step with age. In a shocking decision, he was demoted to a reserve position for this World Cup to make room for rising star Ejegefeh Na'Safeh. The rumor is that he was demoted because of his "old" age, despite excallent performances in the previous two World Cups and being the second-leading scorer in WC65. He will play frequently though and can still be a dangerous weapon coming off the bench.

ST Thomas TEVERRIDGE (29)
Teverridge is the leading goal scorer for the FSF's Samaj FC and has long been a vastly underrated player in Cosumar due to his tenure with a relatively obscure club in a remote area of Cosumar. However, Teverridge has quietly been one of the most productive players in the upper flight of the FSF and is finally beginning to reap the rewards of his hard work, including finally earning a spot on the National Team after being denied twice. Teverridge loves to snake his way through opposing defenses and is a sly player, with a knack for breaking through creases and getting 1 on 1 shots in a heartbeat. He is also a corner kick specialist.

ST Anders ENGSTRÖM (18)

Coaching Staff and Team Captains

Manager: Farris Crowley

After a phenomenal debut as Manager in World Cup 54, and an even more impressive efforts in World Cups 56-59, Farris Crowley will return to lead the Dragons towards greatness once again in World Cup 67. Crowley was a somewhat successful player in Cosumar's domestic league many years ago and has since taken to coaching. His goal is absolute: win a World Cup. He is currently 68 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time. Despite being the one who took Cosumar to new heights and qualified us for nine consecutive World Cups, there is a rumor that he is on the hot seat due to the unsettlingly early exits in the last few World Cups.

Assistant Manager: Truda Jotunnoj

This is Jotunnoj's third World Cup as Assistant Manager, replacing Bernard Hotheryo. Jottunoj recently coached for Cosumar in the AOCAF. Jottunoj has been a successful Manager for Cosumarite Sekundar Ligan club Treftadaethfor 14 years. Jotunnoj is 46 years old.

Team Captain: Abel Scarloff
Defenders' Captain: Alexander Pearce
Midfielders' Captain: Abel Scarloff
Strikers' Captain: Addam Andsman-Savage

Cosumar's uniforms for World Cup 67, made for the team by Barrengeka Kits of Astograth. The uniform has been applauded by fans and the media, featuring Cosumar's national colors: silver and navy blue as well as the Cosumarite Azure Dragon, the symbol of Cosumar. The keeper's uniform is gold and green, the royal family's colors. They are the same kits the team used in World Cups 56-66.

Formation, Starting 11, and Style

Image

Style Modifier= -3.5

Nova Anglicana has never been known on the world stage for the quality of its football. In fact, the senior national team has played just thirty-four games in their nine-year existence, against FIFA nations and club teams, all friendlies, and had played no games within the NS Sports multiverse, at least until their appearance in the 54th Baptism of Fire. This current crop of players have played just six games all together, though some of the players have been playing together for years. Of course, because all players come from Nova Anglicana's domestic league, they have plenty of experience playing against each other. The key for this squad will be learning to play together as a cohesive unit. Nova Anglicana is led by three stars: Julian Neal, Newfield FC's outstanding goalkeeper, Giuseppe Carbone, veteran and captain of Bridgewall City FC, and Raphael Baptiste, the dangerous Olympique Sept-Iles striker who scored 16 of his team's 24 goals this year, and was the league leader in that category. The rest of the team is not so great, and trends towards the young and inexperienced.

Accordingly, manager Patrick Moran has gone with a 1-4-4-1 formation that allows the two non-goalkeepers to maximize their talents. The 1-4-4-1 is a bit unorthodox and antiquated, employing a sweeper and a striker. Moran and the NAFA believe in controlling possession and cutting off the opponent's access, thus making them unable to score, and follow somewhat the Italian philosophy of catenaccio, or "doorbolt" football. Carbone is responsible for picking up loose balls that get behind the defense and also for personally marking the opponent's best striker. The two center defenders and midfielders pinch together to clog the middle of the field, while the two outside defenders sag back to cover the wings as the two outside midfielders move slightly up in support of Baptiste. The main focus of the formation is to deny the opponent goal-scoring opportunities and keep control of the ball to feed to Baptiste. If the Lions do allow an opponent to get deep into the defense, Carbone will clean things up and begin the counterattack. This style, far from being boring, is applauded by many Nova Anglican fans, who prize hard work, perseverance, and value the hard-fought tie just as much as the win. Whether this style will bring them any success in the 67th World Cup remains to be seen. The Lions will struggle to score more than a single goal if the opponent is able to deny Baptiste, and so the philosophy of possession football will have to be at peak efficiency to prevent the opponent from scoring. In the BoF 54, the Lions won two of three group stages games for six points, and qualified to the round of 16. However, there, their run came to an end in a defeat against Yttribia on PKs (0-0 AET, 6-5 PK).

Polkopian National Team

Image

The Polkopian National Team plays a 4-1-3-2 formation. The attacking midfielder will sometimes rush in to assist the two forwards in a dangerous attack, while the defensive midfielders will stay just ahead of the defenders. The wingers will try and find various ways to cross the ball to the middle, where one of the forwards will then try to direct the ball into the opposition's net. Normally, the forward playing on the left side of the pitch will play a little back compared to the forward on the right, but both will have an equal chance at scoring.

Here is the Gregoryisgoidstan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Coach: Head Soccer Coach Soccerlord McSoccerlord (Age 42, 6/11/1971) beginning game 4. Note that his name includes the "Head Soccer Coach" part. He is the same person as Retired Soldier Commander Lieutenant Warlord McWarlord, our retired midfielder, but changed his name.

Note: All birthdays listed in the Gregorian Calendar, which Lord Almighty Gregory claims to have invented, hence it bears his name. But it is just the regular Gregorian calendar. All dates are MM/DD/YYYY. Note that in Gregoryisgodistan, the year changes on June 1, rather than January 1, so January 1, 2013 follows December 31, 2013, and is equivalent to January 1, 2014 in other calendars.

Lineup:

GK Prune Farmer 3818F (Age 19, 12/30/1994)
DEF Police Agent Jorge Warlord (Age 27, 9/26/1986)
DEF Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam (Age 30, 3/14/1982)
DEF Secret Police Agent Dominic Button (Age 31, 4/26/1981)
DEF Secret Ingelligence Agent [Redacted], Badge Number 98455 (Age 33, 1/10/1979)
MF Soccer Jester FunnyMan294 (Age 33, 12/13/1980)
MF Soccer Jester CLOWNPIREPIE (Age 20, 4/23/1992)
MF Prune Farmer R56OMJ (Age 30, 6/18/1983) executed after game 1, replaced by Pervert Chaser NZQID9
MF Retired Soldier Commander Lieutenant Warlord McBurgerKing (Age 40, 9/11/1973)
FW Soccer Captain Laredo Potato (known as Bottlemaker LP913838 prior to January 2) (C) (Age 30, 11/11/1983)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe (Age 24, 02/22/1988)

Bench:

GK Cow Herder 91291A (Age 30, 07/07/1983)
GK Youth NNNSHDHD284 (Age 16, 11/14/1997)
DEF Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA (Age 31, 04/11/1981)
DEF Chef 82718138 (Age 18, 01/12/1995)
DEF Executioner 98481 (Age 28, 05/17/1984)
DEF Decapitated Head-to-Bomb Converter DHU83818 (Age 31, 10/30/1982)
MF Prune Farmer 913881 (Age 31, 10/11/1982)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Henry Itted (Age 21, 6/3/1982)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Joseph Hauu (Age 20, 5/4/1982)

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium in the Capital District, which has been expanded to seat 400,617. The last three digits are in honor of Lord Almighty Gregory's birthday. If the game is not a sellout, fans will be selected by lottery and forced to attend.

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post.

Notes:

The 2017 campaign is underway! The Eagles hope to follow up on the progress they built last season. It was fantastic and heartbreaking at the same time, as the States came within a win of a World Cup qualification. They also suffered heartbreaking losses in the last day of group play of the CoH, as well as a playoff loss in the CE 8. There have been calls for manager Karl Rheinhart's dismissal, but GAFF says that they will stay loyal and steadfast towards the manager that carried them thus far. It will be an interesting and exciting 2017 season, that's for sure!

Estope Media Guide - WC67
(OOC: Everything written here about the management is overly hyped and not at all like reality. Freezus is horribly incompetent and will always try to make excuses when his team fails. Also he cheats a lot (such as paying the refs/anyone who could possibly help him) but puts on a good face to try and cover it up.)

Manager: Bucky Freezus
Bucky Freezus has to be considered one of the greatest offensive minds in all of soccer. He is a clear innovator that brings so much to the table for Estope. Following Emanuel Inzer's firing, Freezus was the clear choice for his replacement. His experience in high school girl's basketball along with his motivational speaking ability were the keys that led to his hiring. With those traits it was impossible for Brian Monte to ignore him. He was officially announced in the Eighth Campionato Esportiva but did not officially begin his role until after it finished. He will no doubt have Estope competing for a championship in no time.

Assistant Manager: Ed Ogarchetski
Although Coach O has no prior soccer experience, he is great a evaluating talent. Coach O pulled together some of Estope's greatest athletes to be on this team and is an expert in keeping team spirits up. He is truly the player's coach and works hard to make sure they are happy.

Head of Estope Soccer Association: Brian Monte
A true innovator, Monte has explored all aspects of social media and fan involvement. Known for his revolutionary contests where fans get to play with the team and catchy hashtags, Monte is constantly pushing the limits and staying one step ahead of the rest of the competition.

Demonym: Starblaydi

Staff
FB. Frederico Blassii, Manager, 46
77 Caps, 1 Goal (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
A former Right Back for Cedrus Soundgardia and the national team, Freddie's father was the Vice-President of the SFA before being involved in some dodgy match-fixing scandals. He first managed the team to a Second Round defeat by Farfadillis in the 42nd AOCAF and this largely similar side takes to the field hoping to reverse the non-qualification antics of World Cup 66.

LK. Lena Kochanska*, Assistant Manager, 42
104 Caps, 61 Goals (9 Caps, 5 Goals at Under-21 level)
Starblaydia's leading all-time goalscorer, recently retired, was thrust straight into Starblaydia's sink-or-swim Under-21 setup. After the two most depressing tournaments in Starblaydi history, with 1 draw from six matches and a massive minus-eighteen goal difference during that time, her debut with a new-look team reached the Quarter-Finals of the 29th Di Bradini Cup, scoring 10 goals in 5 games and only losing to the eventual champions, Northern Sunrise Islands.

Goalkeepers
1. Lucas Cable, GK, 31 - Jhanna United
52 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Lucas Cable has an ability to just know where the ball is going to go. Some pundits point to reaction times, others to positioning and reading of the game, and others just to incredibly good luck. Very rarely is he sent the wrong way or unsighted and fooled by the flight of a ball, so much that seeing him concede makes you wonder what went wrong. His presence in goal gives the rest of the team confidence and he is the best Starblaydi keeper since Grant Hansen, who kept 9 clean sheets on the way to the World Cup 63 Final. His struggles with niggling injuries are his only negative point.

12. Kris Miller, GK, 28 - Hecia
Uncapped (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
It is unusual for a substitute goalie to be aged 28 and still be uncapped for the national team, but unfortunately for Miller, Cable is just that much better. Captain of the Nemyan Hecia side, Miller is a highly capable keeper, professional enough to know that when his time comes, he must take it with both hands.

19. Omar Musandan, GK, 23 - Jhanna City
Uncapped (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Sitting on the bench for two straight Di Bradini Cups and seeing Starblaydia ship 23 goals in 6 matches is the driving force behind Musandan's international career: never again. In DBC29 he kept two clean sheets on the way to the Quarter-Finals, and is a master shot-stopper with a growing reputation for saving penalties.

Defenders
2. David Morton, RB/RWB, 29 - Nidola United
10 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Currently Nidola's favourite son, Morton's voracious attacking play down the wings often brings great results. Though he may have to be a little more restrained for his country, the thought of him carving up the right side of the pitch with Khurnos leaves most Starblaydi fans cheering for more.

3. Erik Hoffman, LB, 27 - Iskara Daii
1 Cap, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
With just a single appearance to his name, Hoffman takes over in the left full-back spot vacated by the veteran Tamara Robinson. Though without much international experience, his composed performances for the Daii certainly put him in the driving seat for selection to the national team. He hits a good free kick, too, curling in from out wide on the right.

5. Jimeno Zambrano, CB, 31 - Cedrus Soundgardia
27 Caps, 3 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Probably the last tournament for Zambrano, who retains his number 5 shirt from World Cup 66. He's a classy defender with a great touch and excellent reading of the game. Though he may have lost a yard of pace over the past couple of years, he makes up for his with his positioning and leadership skills.

6. Xavier Nunez, CB, 25 - Corinthian Spirits
6 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Nunez has a much more physical style at Centre Back than his colleague Zambrano, but the two seem to combine well. Nunez is the likely name to be winning the ball in the air, or putting his body on the line to block a shot. Not afraid of a shirt pull or cheeky elbow, either, he's the first one to stand up for his teammates in a physical confrontation.

13. Oin Hatrazarn^, C/RB, 24 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
1 Cap, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
A young Dwarf who is not your typical Centre Back build, Hatrazarn does at least have a great leap for those high balls. Like most Dwarves he's solid as a rock in defence, but it's his vision and playmaking from that back that really makes his game stand out.

14. Giselle Isom*, RB, 23 - FC Farça
2 Caps, 0 Goals (8 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
This girl really knows how to play, possessing an amazing touch that works equally well when stealing the ball off the shoelaces of an attacker, or passing anywhere up to sixty yards around the pitch. Whether close up and tricky one-twos or crossfield balls that could hit a postage stamp, Isom's control of the ball is simply excellent.

20. Thomas Wilson, CB, 22 - Beverington Hawks
Uncapped (8 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Captain of the Under-21s at the recent - and relatively successful - 29th Di Bradini Cup, Wilson has a good all-round defensive game built around power and pace. May not get many minutes this time around, but he's really here for the experience.

Midfielders
4. Lorenzo Jinalii, DM, 23 - Paricone Athletic FC
6 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Plucked straight from the Under-21s and groomed as the successor to Kylee Constantini, Jinalii has immediately made the Defensive Midfield position his own with a string of outstanding performances at the 29th Di Bradini Cup and 42nd AOCAF Cup. He's obviously a tough and athletic young man but instead of breaking up play with a sledgehammer, he does it with a scalpel. A great range of passing means that defence is often quickly turned into attack when he challenges his opponents.

7. Brazadar Khurnos^, Captain, R/LM, 34 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
80 Caps, 18 Goals (9 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 level)
Khurnos retains the captaincy from the unsuccessful 66th World Cup campaign thanks to his versatility, leadership and never-say-die attitude. Khurnos leads not only with his booming voice but also his unshakable heart, using his play on the field as an example to the rest of his team. Trying to challenge him on the run has been described as like tackling a cannon ball.

8. Raul Garcia, AM, 29 - FC Farça
12 Caps, 2 Goals (4 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 level)
Every kid wants to grow up to play like Garcia. For Farça he plays with a smile on his face and a free range of passing that can make a mockery of even the best defenders. Full of tricks when needed and not afraid of a crunching tackle, his trademark shrug-and-smile has become a Starblaydi footballing meme. If something outrageous has just happened on the pitch, expect him to be at the heart of it.

11. Ffion McAllister*, A/LM, 21 - Montepool Waves
8 Caps, 4 Goals (6 Caps, 1 Goals at Under-21 level)
By far the youngest of the Starting XI, McAllilster has found almost immediate fame and success. She uses her speed to continually pop up and score goals - she singlehandedly gave the entire Farfadillis team the scare in AOCAF 42, bringing Starblaydia from 3-0 down to 3-2 with minutes to go in their Second Round defeat. Having announced herself as a seventeen year old with a brace against Åsløtten-Bëðerbørg så Česky in a 5-2 World Cup Qualifying win, and top-scoring for Starblaydia at the last AOCAF, McAllister seems destined for great things.

15. Nigel Harrington, R/CM, 28 - Foxchester Raiders
7 Caps, 1 Goal (3 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Good old Harrington, who's performances for Foxchester are as solid as his side-parting and moustache, he's the personification of the spiffing Britannican gentleman playing for Lord-Protector and country. Always running for 90 minutes, always unflappable in the face of the opposition, always with a keen eye for a pass, shot or set piece, Harrington is the type of player you can rely on i nany situation.

16. Shaun Levesque, LM/LW, 27 - Paricone Athletic FC
13 Caps, 4 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Being thrust straight into the Starting XI for AOCAF41 and WC66 at the age of 23 proved to be too much, too young for Levesque, who drops to the fringes of the squad for this tournament. Much early promise in this winger was unfulfilled, but he's still a fast dribbler who likes to cut inside. Though he's relying on tricks and fancy skills less these days, he's still got it in him to confound a full-back when the mood takes him.

21. Kylee Constantini*, C/DM, 33 - Tabeck FC
48 Caps, 6 Goals (8 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
50 caps for her country was Constantini's aim at the beginning of her career, and her tenacity has paid off with a recall to the substitutes bench. From here she will provide leadership and experience to the younger players, as well as getting a few appearances in when games need taking by the scruff of the neck, or the opposition need shutting down in midfield.

22. Alex Wong, AM, 26 - Penningworth United
1 Cap, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
When the Pennies need a goal, they look to Alex Wong. Either as creator or finisher, Wong often provides the spark for his team's victory. When he goes missing, however, or is marked out of the game, he tends to be completely anonymous. Still, with the right midfield against the right opposition, he can boss an entire game as it revolves around him.
Image
The Golden Girl
Assistant Manager and Record human Goalscorer Lena Kochanska

Forwards
9. Dario Rossi, SC, 31 - Vecchio Victors
20 Caps, 8 Goals (6 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 level)
A decent international strike rate for the veteran forward, as well as a continual knack of finding the back of the net for the Vics has meant Dario has retained the beloved number 9 shirt. Despite him being the tip of the Starblaydi attack, expect a high number of assists as he often unselfishly plays in those around him.

10. Khazdar Branmar^, SC/CF, 27 - Karak Ungor Chiefs
10 Caps, 3 Goals (7 Caps, 1 Goals at Under-21 level)
The 'big man' of the Chiefs, Branmar's all-action style sees him as a frenetic ball of energy on the pitch. Always chasing down, always tackling back and defending corners as much as attacking them. This Dwarf certainly has a temper and, if he's not involved in the game, tends to go hunting for the ball - sometimes with mixed results. Has one hell of a good shot, too.

17. Jeremy Anselm, CF, 22 - Widdrington Wolves
2 Caps, 1 Goal (8 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 level)
Top-scored for the Starblaydi team at the 29th Di Bradini Cup with 3 in 6 matches, Anselm is the up and coming star who many thought could have got the nod in the Starting XI. Although often used as a target man, he can also bring others into attacking play with ease thanks to his awareness and touch.

18. Jino Korhonen, SC, 30 - Iskara Daii
9 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Sometimes you need that experienced old head who can calm the team, slow things down and pick apart the opposition - in this generation of Starblaydi players there are few better at that side of the game than the Daii captain. Don't expect fireworks, but for that one pass or shot to unlock a defence, Korhonen can provide it. It is a telling statistic that when he scores, Starblaydia win (results of 4-1, 2-1 and 5-2 in WC66 Qualifying with Korhonen on the scoresheet).

23. Stephen Landsberg, SC, 19 - Hernsworth Cubs
Uncapped (4 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
Here's the guy who could be the next star, brought straight from the Under-21 substitue bench to gain experience with the senior side at the biggest tournament in the world. Playing for the perennially unfashionable Cubs, Landsberg could be on for a move to bigger and better things - WC67 Qualifying is certainly his shop window.

Goal Keeper - Sermend Darsha
Age: 26
Height: 182.9 cm
Weight: 81.6 kg
Ethnicity: Türvásk
Number: 0
Club: Kandhez FC
Widely considered the most competent goalkeeper in the Republic, Darsha has earned an apt reputation as a player with sticky fingers. While an injury kept him from participating in the Baptism of Fire, he will head up the defense in the 67th World Cup. A seasoned regular in the national league, analysts have listed Darsha as one of the most obvious reasons for the recent string of successes enjoyed by Kandhez FC, which went from being a second-rate team to one of the top ten ranked teams (at number four) in the nation in a matter of three years. His style is cool and dauntless, and he rarely if ever loses his focus, regardless of the circumstances. Officials and fans alike are confident that his performance will be memorable.

Defender Left - Eliron Szirmay
Age: 23
Height: 167.6 cm
Weight: 68.0 kg
Ethnicity: Lucirí
Number: 2
Club: Seraf Fiorenze
Flamboyant. Cocksure. Undeniable. These are just a few of the words that describe Szirmay. A relative neophyte to the world of professional football, this defender, who has been described as playing with all the grace and finesse of a striker, was drafted only last year from the collegiate league. His premier season has been remarkable, and has cemented his status as a player to be watched. While he is a maestro when it comes to tackles and his foot is infallible, his impetuousness comes at a cost. He tends to wanders somewhat on the field. It is hoped that as he matures this characteristic will subside, replaced by a greater awareness of the field as a whole. Nonetheless, his status as a starter for the third-ranked team in the nation commands instant respect, especially at such a young age.

Defender Sweeper - Hişyar Aznagŭ
Age: 28
Height: 172.7 cm
Weight:
Ethnicity: Türvásk
Number: 3
Club: Götkäl FC
Hailing from the Türvásk speaking regions of the Republic, where football tends to be a less elegant art form, Aznagŭ epitomizes the rugged practicality of this style of play. A giant compared to most of his countryman, he employs his height and skill to rapidly gain absolute possession of the ball in a crisis. Then, without even the slightest pause, he clears or passes as needed. Nobody should expect any tricks from Aznagŭ, but dogged defending is a given. It is for this reason that he is nicknamed "the Tank". After the devastating and demoralizing results of the Baptism of Fire, his gaze has been compared to a blazing inferno, but his form has only gotten more impeccable, his demeanor more cool. Fans are expecting a performance like that which transformed Götkäl FC from the last place team in the national league to a reasonably successful club.

Defender Right - Ariel Vahanù
Age: 22
Height: 160.0 cm
Weight:
Ethnicity: Irídár
Number: 4
Club: Bethsames FC
Vahanù does not cut a dashing figure on the field. He is neither a hero nor a person whom aspiring young athletes would revere and seek to emulate. Short, stout, and dependable is the phrase most often employed to describe this staple of Bethsames FC. In truth, many are surprised that he even managed to secure a spot on the national team with so many more compelling characters on the scene. That said, he plays a simple game. Stop the ball. Pass to the open man. And move up at the appropriate time. While his style is simplistic, it has proven effective, demonstrating that complex maneuvers and tricks are no more the stuff of champions than passing or tackling. A good ground game is just as effective as anything.

Attacking Midfielder Left - Misha Krzentowski
Age: 22
Height:
Weight:
Ethnicity: Lucirí
Number: 5
Club: Ohr Lustanya
Renowned in the Republic and beloved by fans of Ohr Lustanya for his crisp lobs and well-controlled crosses, Krzentowski has the makings of a future champion. His ball handling and shots are mediocre at best, but then Krzentowski truly comes into his own as a constituent part of a cohesive unit. In the previous season, he collaborate with the offensive side of the team in securing a coveted position as the second highest ranking club in the national league. Passes, crosses, and positioning are the bread and butter of a midfielder like Krzentowski. It is expected that the songs of Ohr Lustanya will reverberate through stadiums across the country as the matches commence.

Defending Midfielder Left - Yaakov Zamorski
Age: 32
Height: 167.6 cm
Weight:
Ethnicity: Irídár
Number: 6
Club: Irad Tyberia FC

Stadiums

Kilsyth Sports Center - Kilsyth, The Suburbs - Capacity 5,000 (1,000 seater)
Kilsyth Arena is the crown jewel of NexxusDrako. It features an indoor small court stadium used for Basketball, Tennis and Hockey, and an outdoor large field stadium used for most codes of Football as well as Baseball. It was built in the early 2000s, during Australian rule. (OOC: Our nation was cloned from the Yarra Valley in Australia and moved elsewhere using advanced technology bought from an FT nation). Kilsyth is known as a bit of a mixed bag, depending on what side of the pub you live on. It is the home turf of Suburbs FC.

Lilydale Oval - Lilydale, The Suburbs - Capacity 4,000 (500 seater)
Lilydale Oval is home to cricket, football of the Australian and Association varieties, and a pesky river right next to the north side. Many a ball has fallen victim to the Yarra River, which due to the cloning process, now leads to the ocean at Kilsyth. Lilydalites tend to be very noisy, raucous and many youths have been known to hang at the station taking drugs, which are legal in NexxusDrako. It is Suburbs FC's backup turf.

Healesville Sporting Complex - Healesville, The North - Capacity 3,000 (all-terrace)
Healesville is an outer suburban town.with a reputation for street racing and hooning among the youth. It also happens to be Eternal President James Knight's home town. The sporting complex is a multi-pitch affair, with the main pitch being used for Assoc, Football and the minor being used for Australian Football. It is the home turf of Northern FC.

Yarra Junction Football Ground - Yarra Junction, The Hills - Capacity 2,000 (all-terrace)
Yarra Junction is a quiet rural town with a Football Ground that is used mostly for Australian Football, a practice that James Knight keeps intact, as we still are very much Australian in blood and nature. The Football Ground can be converted into an Assoc. Football ground on demand. It is the home turf of The Hills FC.

Powelltown Showgrounds - Powelltown, The East - Capacity 1,000 (all-terrace)
Powelltown is a very rural town, however, some of the best players have come out of this town. The Showgrounds did not have a permanent football pitch until last month, meaning that the stadium is very fresh. Powelltown residents tend to be quiet and reserved. The Showgrounds are the home turf of Eastern FC.

Home Schedule:

MD2: Darmen (Kilsyth)
MD4: Swyftlandre (Lilydale)
MD6: Karditan (Healesville)
MD8: Antoletia (Kilsyth)
MD12: 19th Century Beards (Yarra Junction)
MD14: Jeru FC (Lilydale)
MD16: Julain (Powelltown)
MD18: Vaugania (Healesville)

Choose my goalscorers Y, but try to keep them in the starting 11
Godmod scoring events Y, but not too ridiculous
RP injuries to my players Y, but not to serious
Godmod injuries to my players Y, but please don't cripple them
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y, but not excessively
Hand out red cards to my players Y, but not too often
Godmod other events Y, make it funny. As you may have notice Kalumba has a wee bit of a hooligan problem so feel free to mention that

And the team:

Manager: George Davies- Resigned from the first team after a very disappointing start to the World Cup 56, which he deemed disgraceful for a team who had just won the Baptism of Fire, but has since returned to the side. Hoping to rebuild Kalumba's international reputation after a long period away from competition and a decent showing at the last few WCs. Has opted to leave a number of veterans behind for this campaign and place Kalumba's future in the exciting hands of youth.

First Team Coach: Magnus Malan- Led the team throughout the last World Cup without much success but he did record a notable victory against highly rated Newmanistan, and suffered only narrow defeats to teams in the top 25 in the world. Very defensive minded and his approach led the team to be nicknamed 'The Tortoises'.

Goalkeepers:
Ulusu Mtanda-No.1 23 year old novice, looking to make his debut this time out. Part of the Kahali Spears team which is taking the Kalumban League by storm, and holds a new clean sheet record after going 14 games unbeaten this season.
Frank Burnden-No.67 42 year old veteran keeper, useful back up option. Will not expect to start but will most probably be on the bench to cover for the outstanding 'Super Terry' Ottbourne.
Peter Franks-No.41 23 year old rookie, first selection for the team. Missed out on going to the Di Bradini cup by 2 months, so will be hoping to play a few games to secure his position as long term successor to Ottbourne. May play in less crucial group games or when Kalumba are knocked out. Still strugging to fulfill his early potentiial.

Defenders:
LB-Derek Ward, 29 year old truck driver, stupid but effective No. 12 Recently banned from driving for Drink-Driving, will be hoping to secure a place at a foreign club team to provide him with an income.
LCB-Vincent Mkure, 19 year old, member of the Kahali Spears No. 14 Built like the proverbial ox this young man has a long career ahead of him at the heart of Kalumba's defence. And such is his maturity he is already being spoken of as a future captain.
LCB-Duncan Edward, 22 year old, pretty boy, but solid at the back No. 4 Recently married with a child will his mind be fully on the World Cup?
RCB-Kaneu Daima, 22 year old, 6 foot 9, deadly in the air No. 6 Last minute inclusion ahead of the injured Von Harniggen, but his displays for Kahali this season warrant an inclusion anyway.
RCB-Norman Baker, 28 year old bank manager, great slide tackler No. 5 Castigated in the news for losing his bank a large amount of money speculating on the stock market, will try to rebuild his reputation.
RB-James Downs, 39 year old ex-rugpy prop forward, solid but no agility whatsoever No. 3 Recently dropped from his Rugby team so is looking to football for his wage.
RB-Frank Ruyten, 23 year old civil servant, very fast but poor crossing ability No. 19 Has worked on his crossing but still struggles to fulfill his promise as an attacking fullback.

Midfielders:
LM-Peter Kurtz, 25 year old full time proffesional footballer No. 21 Still struggling for form but has improved at the World Cup scoring twice and creating another couple for Kalumba.
LM-James Fish, 19 year old protege No. 9 Still a protege, retained for the first team instead of the U21s so Davies clearly intends to play him.
CM-Ollie Roberts, 24 year old model and dancing champion No. 18 First high profile homosexual in Kalumba. Has moved to Southern Cynocephali to play proffesionally and be open with his sexuality.
CM-Gabriel Danukwe, 20 year old Kahali Spears strong man No. 16 An old fashioned enforcer, Danukwe will have to watch his discipline.
CM -Laurence Kabila, 20 year old Kahali Spears creative midfielder No. 15 Picked up 23 assists this season and is seen as a major part of the future of Kalumban football.
CAM -Ben Cheeter, 23 built like an arab donkey but with the shot of an angry mule No. 27 Didn't impress at either the BoF or the last WC but still integral to the team as he links the midfield to the strikers.
CDM- Godwin Kuli, 19 year old sweeper for Kahali Spears No. 17 Despite the unfashionability of the position this young man has played it with aplomb and will hope to reproduce such form for the national side.
RM-Jameson Slutei, 23 year old and rapid No. 33 Lucky to get in the team, but an injury to Abouto left the position open and Slutei will look to make it his own.
RW-Jermaine Filks, 33 year old great crosser of the ball No. 11 Due to Abouto's excellence has yet to feature but has worked on his left sided play in hope of getting a starting position.

Strikers:
RS- Roland Grezlak, 28 year old, 6 foot strong as an ox No. 8 Came on to score many a crucial goal, will be looking for me involvment this time round.
RS- Anthony Peters, 23 year old, youngster but top scorer last season No. 99 Barely featured but did score our second goal in the BoF final. Will be looking to break into the team on a regular basis.
LS-Piet Von Kruger, 21 year old, second striker for Kahali spears No. 21 An excellent partner for Watusi, if they can recreate their club form they will be a feature for years to come in the Kalumban national team.
CF- Peterson Watusi, 17 year old, 20 goal hero for Kahali Spears No. 10 His goals have won him the place of veteran Kevin Davis, it is hoped the pressure won't overwhelm the young man.
CF- Craig Garden, 28 year old, reliable but not much skill No. 93 Another non-starter and like Malone will struggle to record a further cap to his collection of seven.

Starting line-up:

4-4-2 (Style Modifier: +3)

GK Ulusu Mtanda

LB Derek Ward
LCB Duncan Edward (c)
RCB Kaneu Daima
RB Vincent Mkure

A beautiful day at Rhizome Arena
Rhizome Arena: capacity 125,000|location Zorg, Copperwies
The largest of all association football stadiums in HopNation, Rhizome Arena is a spectacle to be seen. It is an extremely advanced stadium with self regulating weather blockers that open and close based on the current events attendance, sun glare, precipitation, and event type. It’s a two tier style stadium with each seat having a clear view of the field. It has an impressive array of video boards: two main screens, one on each end of the stadium located on the upper level; a continuous screen that separates the lower and upper levels (a scrolling style); and other screens spread through the concourse, the main ones for this type being ideally located just outside of each section entrance. This stadium is home to the Phynix of Zorg FC (Zorg FC’s Senior Squad) as well as the official home of the Hops (HopNation’s Association Football National Team).

Other HopNation stadiums are here, if a situation arises and a game cannot be played at Rhizome Arena.

The Inevitable Syndicate Presents...

The Inevitable Syndicate National Football Team
For The 67th World Cup

The Syndicate are back again for another World Cup, after putting in the best performance of the national team's lives last time around. Hosting the cup did make the team a little rusty, however. When it came to facing our co-hosts, Audioslavia, in the third place playoff, we were showed why we were the junior partner as the 'slavs managed to pull off an impressive victory, clinching third and leaving us to whatever was left.

This caused a lot of upset in the year that followed, but the wounds were patched up by the time the Syndicate ended up in AOCAF 42, hosted again by Audioslavia. The Syndicatian national team at this point seemed to be a little sick of the country, and bowed out in the Second Round after a 1-0 defeat to 95X, echoing the actions of the team four years prior, where they beat - you guessed it - Audioslavia in the second round of AOCAF 40, going on to lose in the next round.

This year, the nation is back to flex it's sporting muscles among the greats, and hopefully prove that qualification last time was bound to happen anyway, and wasn't just a perk of hosting the cup. The pressure is on, as a watching country and a watching government (which may be in it's infancy, but packs enough clout to make you dissappear) will be looking for the Syndicate to lift that trophy at the end. Manager Lewis thackray is looking to go far, as if not, his job will be on the line after the dismal performances put in by the country as of late.

This looks to be the last time these group of players depart to the pitch, as with Archer retiring this year, the others are sure to follow suit within the next few cycles. Hopefully, some fresh talent will be added to the pack, led by aspiring young star Phil Gulliver, who demonstrated his skill in the Olympics.

World Cup 67 Roster and Information

Permissions:
You can do anything you like short of killing off players

Squad Name: Sea Dragons

Home Pitch: Ekartera’al se Fuborii Vegai (Vegai Football Cathedral)

Colors: Deep Sky Blue & Yellow

Style: Tidal Surge 3-2-2-1-2
(-2 defensive)

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-2 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situation.

Other style notes:
“Smashmouth Footy”. That is how the Sea Dragons play when at their best. They prefer the motto “Hit First, Ask Forgiveness Later” and yet they have become adept enough as to remain just on the safe side of the cards so many other squads get. When you play the Sea Dragons two truths are evident - 1: You had better be ready to play tough and 2: you had better be ready for rough play.
